If You Are Looking For A Boston Hotel To Stay At Then You
If you are looking for a Boston hotel to stay at then you should read this review of the Lenox
Hotel. The Lenox Hotel is actually one of the nicer hotels in Boston that you can stay at. At the
same time, the Lenox Hotel is also one of the cheaper Boston hotels that you can stay at. The
average nightly rate for staying at the Leon Hotelin Boston is slightly under $200 a night. The
Lenox Hotel is also one of the most conveniently located hotels in Boston. This Boston hotel is
located one block away from Copley Square as well as the shops along Newbury Street. The
Hynes Convention Center and Trinity Church are also within two blocks. If you re going to a Red

I recently stayed at the Denver Warwick hotel for a business meeting and was very pleased with
the entire experience! I will start off and mention the small gripes I have, one of which is how
far this place is from the airport. I suppose that is to be expected since it is in Downtown Denver,
and Colorado is definitely a vast area (this was my first visit out there...) but the $65 ride from
the airport was a sting! The other thing I found to be a little odd was that there was no ATM in
the hotel. We needed cash to be able to pay our car driver back to the airport, and had to go
across the street to one (which ended up being out of service) so that was a little inconvenient,
but our driver was kind and helped us find one nearby. Beyond those two things, the stay at the
Warwick was nothing but positive. I was given a junior suite that was also handicapped
accessible, and it was perfect. There was a very comfortable king bed, a big flat screen TV, a
little sitting area upon entering and a desk/office area with plenty of outlets to plug in
electronics! The wireless access was $10 a day, but for a flawless high speed, connection, it was
well worth it The bathroom was absolutely beautiful and very good sized! Not only was there a
roll in shower with a showerhead that could be lowered, but there was also a bathtub (that was
lower than average so it was easier to step in and out of) with yet another

Stephen Crane Dbq
Have you ever read a passage and wondered how authors can make war seem so horrific instead of
persuading the younger generations to volunteer? These four authors are especially good at
protesting war by writing: Stephen Crane, who was not actually a participant in war, but
encountered a lot of the wartragedies first hand and reported them to the public for the Spanish
American War. Wilfred Owens, a twenty five year old who died only one week before WWI
ended, he would write down his experiences and what he saw, but his works were not published
until his belongings were sent back to his family. Tim O Brien, participant of the Vietnam War
who is still alive today and currently works as a professor. Lastly, Kevin Powers, the youngest of
them... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Document A: War Is Kind by Stephen Crane says Make plain to them the excellence of killing
/ And a field where a thousand corpses lie. This quotation demonstrates the brutal nature of war.
Upcoming soldiers are being taught to kill and their ability to overcome and ignore the bodies
lying around him that could be their friends or family. Stephen Crane witnessed this as he was
visiting the war sites and portrays the actual war conditions, going bad to worse, proving death
in war and the conditions soldiers have to survive in are inhumane. In Document B: Dulce et
Decorum Est written by Wilfred Owen states Come gargling from the froth corrupted lungs,
/ Obscene as cancer.../ Of vile, incurable sores on innocent tongues, The brutality of war is also
displayed in this quotation, but for the soldier instead of the soldier s surroundings. A gas attack
was happening during this quote and it shows the effects the gas had on all the soldiers, not only
the ones who were harmed. The author watched his fellow soldier being gassed and he had to push
through, as if he was unbothered by what he previously witnessed. The speaker witnessed his
symptoms, suffering, and his slow and miserable death. This quotation counteracts with the title
Dulce et Decorum Est which translates to It is Sweet and Right by proving death caused by war is
neither sweet nor right, but painful for everyone

Abolishment of Animal Testing Essay
Have you ever really thought about what happens during animal testing? How the animals are
treated, or what tortures they have to face on a day to day basis? More than one hundred million
animals suffer and die every year through animal testing. Ninety five percent of animals used in
experimentation aren t even covered under the Animal Welfare Act, which regulates the treatment
of the animals that are used for testing. Some animals are abused and mistreated so badly that they
die before they are even experimented on. Animal testingis a cruel procedure and should be made
illegal.
However, animal testing is very important to understanding the human body. Over the years, we

A mouse cannot speak for itself, but no living creature would willingly go through some of the
horrendous procedures done on test animals.
For the most part, a majority of the cruel experiments done to animals are extremely pointless. It
has been reported that researchers will inject large amounts of LSD (acid) into elephants, just to
see what would happen. The side effects of LSD in humans has already been established, so
injecting elephants with the drug was highly unnecessary. Monkeys are also victims of pointless
drug experimentations. For the most part, everyone is already aware of the harmful side effects
that occur from smoking while pregnant. However, the federal government still grants researchers
10 million dollars to inject pregnant monkeys with nicotine. The nicotine causes the developing
monkey fetuses to have lung damage and other birth defects. The unborn babies are then cut out of
the mothers and killed so the researchers can perform autopsies on their organs. That is not all; the
Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center was awarded $71,623 in stimulus funds to feed
cocaine to monkeys. Even though the effects of cocaine are already known for humans. The list of
pointless animal experiments goes on and on. What are researchers even gaining from these useless
experiments?
Also, humans and animals are not the same! Where s the reason in testing products

The Roaring 20 Research Paper
The Roaring 20s was a time of panic, exploration, and discovery among the American people.
Communism became a fear during this period in american history, this fear began with the
Bolshevik revolution in Russia and its ultimate turn to communism. This panic resulted in unjust
treatment of many radicals and immigrants and the resurgence in the Klu Klux Klan. In addition the
1920swas the decade of prohibition, this amendment caused widespread crime and the illegal
bootlegging of alcohol. While on the other hand, the 20s held a positive effect of the advancement
of women in american society. Evidently, the Red Scare, prohibition, and the advancement of
women contributed to significant social and political change.
The 1920 was a time of political injustice and unrest stemming from the communist movement and
Bolshevik Revolution in Russia. Many Americans feared the invasion of the communist way of
life to their capitalist world. This panic caused the Red Scare of 1910 1920. It resulted in the
deportation and unjust prosecution of immigrants coming from communist area. The term judicial

sexuality. Women in particular began to dress more provocatively and proclaimed their new

suits (Doc A). This was the beginning of the feminist movement, some women were beginning to
realize that they should have the same rights as men and some even went as far as to demand in

Chronic Conditions That Can Not Be Cured
LTC s are chronic conditions that cannot be cured but can be maintained and symptomatically
controlled with medication and therapies (World Health Organisation [WHO], 2015; Department of
Health [DOH], 2005). The management of LTC s has been implemented due to the increase in the
ageing population which in turn produces an increase in the incidence of LTC s such as diabetes,
Parkinson Disease [PD], pernicious anaemia, chronicobstructive pulmonary disease, neurological
and heart conditions. Due to word restriction the author will discuss diabetes and Parkinson s
disease.
Diabetes is a lifelong condition that causes a person s blood sugar to become too high or too low
as the pancreas no longer produces the right amount, or any, insulin (NHS Choices, 2014). Insulin
is a hormone which is released from the pancreas, working by moving sugar from the blood into
other body tissues enabling the liver to stop producing excessive glucose. There are two main
types of diabetes, type1 and type 2. Once known as childhood diabetes or insulin dependent
diabetes, type 1 is much rarer than type 2 diabetes which occurs when the body becomes resistant
to the effects of insulin (Mayo Clinic, 2016; MedlinePlus, 2016). Symptoms of diabetes include
excessive thirst, frequent urination, tiredness, long healing wounds and unexplained weight loss
which occurs due to glucose staying in the blood (Diabetes UK, 2016). If a patient develops
diabetes and diet change or medications are unable to control

Ideal Education For Future Students
Ideal Education for Future Students
Education is a form of knowledge that have been passed down and revise to the point of
perfection. All of us have to get our knowledge from someone whether it is our grandparents,
parents, siblings, or teachers. Through applying and processing the knowledge that is given, you
could improve on the idea even further, therefore every generation will get the best from the last.
Wisdom is only as useful as to how much you can exercise it into real life application, for that
reason teaching isn t easy as communicating the information, but instead have the concept in
practice. Learning isn t about memorization, but rather of how it came to be. For example in a
calculus class you could have a teacher teach six trig equations two ways, first just tell the student
to memorize it, or second you can show them how one equation can be rewritten five other ways
and that s how the all six of them came to be. Banking education claim to be effective for
memorizing things quickly, which is true, but then you will most likely to forget it later on. I
like to think education is something worthwhile and essential knowledge to have, which sucks if
you going to forget about it later on and the time you spent memorizing will just go to waste.
Liberated education allows you to practice what you ve learn just like how you would do it on a
job, by doing so you will retain the materials effectively. I think a lot of us have heard of this
question in class before,

While most will believe that the Flyer s biggest need was a strong winger, the Flyers have needs

seventh pick. Provorov also fits the system Hakstol plans to implement as a mobile, offensively

What Is The Main Idea Of Civil Disobedience
The world is full of people who put their self interests first, making the world evil and unjust.
Henry David Thoreau made a speech in 1848 about the government, its injustices, and Theroux
response to each. This speech and latter essay would commonly be known as civil disobedience.
Here, we find everybody living and making rules for their own interest, participating in many evil
activities, and encouraging the rule of injustice. However, we can also find some a few people,
like Thoreau, trying to resist this race in order to stop evil practices and rules. In the essay Civil
DisobedienceThoreau tries to make people, citizens, aware by drawing attention towards the
injustices of American government. He divides the essay into three parts;... Show more content on

people and government). This paragraph will give several American historical evidence and

Technology And Design Of The Kodak Camera
Introduction A camera can simply be described as an imaging device or a tool used to record
images in form of a film, photograph or video (Paul, Bon and Benjamin, 2014). As a passionate
photographer, I carry a camera wherever I go since I believe there is always something special to
capture; an emotion, a beautiful creation or a unique event. The Kodak camerais my favorite brand.
Every year, the Kodak Company releases a better lensed camera featuring better technology and
design. In the process, there is always the need to replace my device with one that can perform
better an effectively. By replacing an older version, I always had to trash the older one in my
room. This called for a better trashing method since these gadgets would crowd... Show more

I would adjust the my father s collar before he left the house, note the stain on my mother s cutlery,
the sweat rolling down my friend s face during the cycling competitions and even the splashing
droplets whenever it rained.
At this point, the Kodak 35 I had received from my father as a gift during my eighth birthday was
no longer effective. I needed an upgrade and therefore decided to conduct an online research for
one that would perform better. During my research, I made two conflicting realizations. First, the
Kodak Company had begun developing digital cameras but the company was also facing the risk
of bankruptcy due to low sales. Nonetheless, I was able to upgrade to the Kodak DC25 digital
camera. Although it came at a high price, it was an opportunity to improve the quality of my
pictures.
By the time I was getting to my middle teenage years, I had used four different types of cameras.
Out of the three cameras, two were Kodak (already mentioned) while the rest were the Canon
IXY Digital and the Nikon Coolpix 2000. All these were quality brands that took my photography
skills to a higher level. Today, there are more advance versions of each brand. With increasing
completion among the camera manufacturers, it may be difficult to settle for a specific camera.
Whenever I want to buy a camera, I analyze the camera resolution and durability. Today, I use the

The Industrial Revolution Of Philadelphia
INTRODUCTION: April 8, 2012 was the Sunday that Easter was celebrated that year. This date
will also be forever remembered as the day that Lieutenant Robert Neary and Firefighter Daniel
Sweeney lost their lives at the Thomas Buck Hosiery Factory fire in Philadelphia, PA. Since
William Penn first founded the city of Philadelphia in 1682, it has been an evolving and growing
city, from a 17th century colonial city to the capital of the United States during the American

At 03:17 am, Engine 2 arrives on location and reports that he has heavy fire showing from the

that he had fire all the way to the roof in a 6 story building, 60 x one city block. He then

third alarm. Around 3:30 am, before most 2nd alarm companies arrived on the fireground. the
first of many collapses occurred. A large section of wall collapsed from the upper story on the
York Street side and crashed on to the street. By 4:01 am, this fire would grow to a five alarm

and the fire scene was divided into four geographic divisions (A, B, C, D) to manage this defensive
fire. Command was passed from Engine 2 to the Battalion Commander, then to the Division
commander and lastly to the Deputy Commissioner. As the fire intensified, the command structure

Chief. For over two hours the approximately 45 apparatus and over 150 firefighters and paramedics
fought to contain the fire to the original complex and protect the surrounding neighborhood. The
weather that night brought 17 mph winds, with gusts over 30 mph. These winds, combined with

Max Weber Political Authority Essay
According to Max Weber in his work of politics as a Vocation , he states that political authority can
be broken up into three different types. He defines these three types as Traditional authority,
charismatic authority and rational legal authority. Charismatic authority comes from a person s
special qualities and ability to hold followers because of them. Charismatic individuals may use
their authorityover a whole society or even just a specific group within a larger one. These
individuals can use their authority for good and sometimes bad. Some examples of these leaders
can be: Adolf Hitler, Mahatma Gandhi, and Martin Luther King Jr. As you can see in the people

This person could be anywhere from a child of the leader or someone the leader knows and trusts.
This in turn leaves a significant danger on the belief because the new leader may lack the required
ability to persuade the same followers. For reasons, Weber recognized that charismatic authority
ultimately becomes more stable when it in turn changes into a traditional or rational legal authority.
A way that a charismatic leader can transform into a traditional authority is by accepting their
bloodline, so that their authority passes to their children and then further down the line.
Transformation into a rational legal authority occurs when the society that they were leading would
in turn develop rules and a bureaucratic structure that is often partnered with a government. Weber
defined this as routinization of charisma.
When we compare this to democratic leaderships, the similarities tend to be that both give their
leaders a ton of responsibility, but with similarities comes its differences. Democratic leaderships
often require their individuals to have a high level of skills along with the will to work, the
leaders are also rational and deliberate. While charismatic leaders appeal to the emotions of the
people around them, and they are often seen as working towards the greater good.
Traditional authority is seen as power that is rooted in regular and long standing beliefs of society.
This authority is assigned to particular individuals because of the

Code Talkers And Code Talkers
Throughout history, different people are treated with isolation and discrimination. This is shown
in our culture through songs, movies, television shows, and other forms of art in every corner of
the world. For example, the movie and song Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer parallels the
oppression of minorities, specifically with the Code Talkers, in the novel, Code Talkers, by Chester
Nez, during World War II. Since before the beginning of United Stateshistory, the people of the
United States have oppressed and repressed the Native Americans that have lived on this land long
before them. The lyric, All of the other reindeer/ used to laugh and call him names/ they never let
poor Rudolph/ join in any reindeer games parallels the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And for the Code Talkers, years and years later, when they could finally discuss the code, Senator
Jeff Bingaman . . . proposed the Honoring the Navajo Code Talkers Act . . . the act called for
recognition for the code talkers (Nez 256). Both saved the day and both oppressor groups were
largely grateful for their sacrifices and for their differences that made it possible. Also, their
differences from the rest of the world were not only unique, but were hard or impossible to
obtain. Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer s talent was obviously that he, had a very shiny nose
(Autry 6). This is difficult to obtain because he was born with it, it was not earned by him and it
seems that this phenomenon has never happened before in the North Pole reindeer world.
Likewise, pronunciation of even one Navajo word is nearly impossible for someone not used to
hearing the sounds (Nez 91). This talent can be obtained, but is seemingly impossible to be
learned later in life, as the language was so complex it could be learned only is one began in
infancy (Nez 91). That being said, this talent was in high demand because of the very small
percentage of people who could speak Navajo in the United States and the US Government could
not simply take shortcuts in learning the language because they would need to grow a colony of
Navajo speaking children over the span of about eighteen years. Which, was time no one had.
Regardless of how the other reindeer or the United

Immanuel Kant s View on Human Nature and the Relationship...
Immanuel Kant s View on Human Nature and Relationship between Nations
Immanuel Kant (1724 1804) was born in Kaliningrad in East Prussia. Kant spent his working life
there and also produced work on various subject matters including ethics metaphysics, epistemology,
aesthetics etc. He published his three famous critiques and wrote on religion, eternal peace and
politics.
All of the above, Kant was the philosopher of human autonomy. He was of the view that human
beings can determine and manage to live up to the basic principles of knowledge and action
without assistance of anyone else, even without any divine support or intervention (Guyer). In this
paper we will discuss the extent to which Kant s view of human nature provides a sustainable
ground work for his views on the relationship between nations. In order to determine this, different
opinions of Kant will be discussed regarding what his views about the human nature and how he
compared it with the nations or states.
Reflecting on human nature and writing about the human beings was the most important theme of
Kant s all writings. Kant s study has emphasized three times that the question What is the human
being? is a very important question in philosophy. Kant holds a thought that human beings are
different from machines and therefore should be studied differently according to their natural
purposes. He was also of the view that human being is the only creature which should be educated.
Kant pointed out that

Symbolism In Into The Wild
Symbols are used to represent many things, including distance, isolation, and journeys. Into the
Wild is a film that is based off a true story, which was written by Jon Krakauer. Into the Wild
contains many symbols related to the topics of distance, isolation, and journeys. Likewise, The
Catcher in the Rye, written by J.D. Salinger, includes a series of symbols as well. The title, Into
the Wild, represents Chris McCandless s journey of finding himself when he runs away from his
home, so he can live in the wild. The title of The Catcher in the Rye is symbolic of what Holden
wants to be when he is older. Holden wants to be the person who waits by the rye and catches all
the kids that are about to jump off. This represents how Holden is scared of the transfer from
childhood to adulthood, he wants to prevent the kids from growing up. A great story... Show more

Money influenced them to do what the believe in and to think what they want to think. Salinger
wrote in the perspective of a teenager who is almost obsessed with money. To Holden the
amount of money someone has represents what they are like. As stated, It isn t important, I
know, but I hate it when somebody has cheap suitcases. It sounds terrible to say it, but I can even
get to hate somebody, just looking at them, if they have cheap suitcases with them (Salinger 121).
This quote shows that Holden was so caught up in the world of money that it makes him sick to
see someone to have even one thing cheap. On the other hand, Chris believed money was not
needed. In the beginning of the film, Chris is seen during all his money and then living on his feet
and the stuff on his back. Chris does not care about money at all, he never wanted to be associated
with money. While Holden loved money, possibly more than life itself, Chris hated money as much
as he hated his abusive father. To tie together, both stories contain the symbols of money, hats, and

Police Brutality And Its Effects
Police brutality is a phenomena that is documented throughout a myriad of societies from Russia,
China, Indonesia, Palestine, Egypt to the United States. Police brutality is the use of force which
exceeds what is needed in order to accomplish a legal police purpose.Throughout America s history,
minorities, specifically Black people, have been the disproportionate target of policebrutality.
Amnesty International has documented several examples of police brutality, including instances of
beatings, unjustified shootings, and excessively forceful detention methods which merit
concern (Amnesty 1999).The pervasiveness of police shootings of citizens has been widely
publicized in the media and stresses the fact that this is a national problem. While these
occurrences are relatively infrequent the lack of any solution or way to minimize brutality has
been an ongoing criticism by citizens and others of the United States police force. The term
excessive force is utilized frequently, although there is no concrete definition of this term as it
is subjective (Police Use of Excessive Force in Minority Communities). The use of force is either
appropriate or excessive depending on if the use of force is necessary and justified for the officer to
complete his job (Police Use of Excessive Force in Minority Communities). The use of deadly
force is justified by law if the officer feels he or others are under imminent threat. There are many
high profile cases of the use of excessive and

Brief Summary And Pathological Analysis
A tooth is composed of the crown and root as shown in the diagram (Fig 2.1). The crown is the
visible part of the teeth [1]. Enamel is the protective covering over the surface of the crown with an
approximate density of 2.9 g/cm^3. Cementum is the covering of the root that attaches the tooth to
the connective tissue fibers of the membrane located between the tooth and the tooth socket to hold
the tooth in place. A tooth is mainly composed of dentine. Dentine is a highly elastic internal
structure within the enamel and cementum with an approximate density of 2.5 g/cm^3. Pulp is the
soft tissue in the central area of the dentine that hosts blood vessels and nerves. It is important to
note that enamel, dentine, and cementum are calcified. This means these three components can be

material and unlike enamel, dentine continues to form slowly. The continued formation of dentine

is not used for EPR measurement since it is difficult to be separated from dentine and not enough

Static Stretching Benefits
Almost every athlete from amateur to professional stretches before exercise, and coaches and
trainers have recommended static stretching as an essential part of a warm up routine for years. But
why do we stretch? What do we gain from this routine? Stretching increases flexibility, but many
people stretch specifically before exercise to gain additional benefits, mainly enhanced athletic
performance, reduced muscle soreness, and injury prevention. However, research suggests that
stretchingdoes not provide these additional benefits in any significant amount. There is very little
evidence that supports the claims people make about the benefits of stretching before exercise, but
there is no evidence that it is harmful. It is simply overrated because it does not provide the benefits
people think it does. Static stretching before exercise is unnecessary because it does not improve
athletic performance, prevent muscle soreness or reduce the risk of injury. Although stretching
improves flexibility, it does not improve most athletic performances. Activities such as gymnastics

The main goals of a warm up are to increase blood flow and prepare the body for specific
movements, but static stretching does not accomplish either of these goals. It does not elevate the

emphasizing static stretches, a warm up should emphasize dynamic stretches. Dynamic stretches
increase blood flow and move the muscles through their normal range of motion, preparing them for
more intense exercises. A warm up should also include movements that use similar body parts that
will be used in the later, more strenuous movements (Isner). Dynamic stretches should constitute
most of the warm up because they prepare the body for exercise better than static

Political Impact On The Evolution Of Christianity
The evolution of Christianity has been a process that has taken thousands of years. Wars, laws, and
councils are all been results of this process. When one thinks of the evolution of Christianity,
politics typically do not come to mind. Surprisingly politics have had a large impact on the
evolution of Christianity. In some cases, the impact is so big, it determined the survival of
Christianity. Politics influenced Christian society when Pontius Pilate falsely accused Jesusof
treason, Emperor Constantine made Christianity legal in the Roman Empire, and the Council of
Chalcedon confirmed Jesus was God. One political event that influenced Christian society is
when Roman Prefect Pontius Pilate accused Jesus of treason. Pontius Pilate accused Jesus of
treason because himself, and other leaders of the Roman Empire felt threatened by Jesus (
Pontius Pilate Biography 2014). These leaders felt threatened by Jesus because he preached to
follow and worship only the Christian God, and no others. This was very threatening to leaders
of the Roman Empire like Pontius Pilate because they worried Christians would not obey their
orders, and8 when they tried to reinforce them the Christians would revolt. Since Pontius Pilate
was a Roman Prefect he had the authority to order the execution of a criminal, so to end his fear
he falsely claimed that Jesus told him he was the King of the Jews ( Pontius Pilate Biography

In her article Why Women Still Can t Have It All, Anne Marie Slaughter comes to the conclusion
that women can have it all, but the present structure of today s society has made it unfeasible.
Slaughter, a high profile government employee, was appalled when she received supercilious and
demeaning remarks regarding her stepping down; ultimately choosing her family over her career
(Slaughter). Choosing family may be an easy choice for some, but when today s society has
placed an exceeding amount of value in ones career, some are faced with an unimaginable decision.
For women to finally have it all, a family and a career, Slaughter argues that we must rediscover the
pursuit of happiness, redefine what it means to be successful, and reacquire family values.
Slaughter claims that society has redefined the value of childcare, and is irritated that employers
make conjectures, of equally qualified employees, based upon whether or not they are a parent. For
instance, she compares a marathon runner to a parent, who are both equally qualified employees.
She continues to emphasize that to be both a parent and a marathon runner takes the same amount
of dedication and determination. Slaughter insists, The discipline, organization, and sheer
endurance it takes to succeed... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The American definition of a successful professional is someone who can climb the ladder the
furthest in the shortest time, generally peaking between ages 45 and 55 (Slaughter). Because life
expectancy has increased, couples marry and have kids later, people retire earlier, and have
multiple jobs and careers, climbing the ladder furthest in the shortest amount of time is not the best
way to achieve success. In Slaughters eyes the path to success is not a straight upward slope, it is a
combination of irregular stair steps with periodic

The Lenox Hotel is actually one of the nicer hotels in Boston that you can stay at. At the same time, the Lenox Hotel is also one of the cheaper Boston hotels that you can stay at. The average nightly rate for staying at the Leon Hotelin Boston is slightly under $200 a night. The Lenox Hotel is also one of the most conveniently located hotels in Boston. This Boston hotel is located one block away from Copley Square as well as the shops along Newbury Street. The Hynes Convention Center and Trinity Church are also within two blocks. I recently stayed at the Denver Warwick hotel for a business meeting and was very pleased with the entire experience! I will start off and mention the small gripes I have, one of which is how far this place is from the airport. I suppose that is to be expected since it is in Downtown Denver, and Colorado is definitely a vast area (this was my first visit out there...) but the $65 ride from the airport was a sting! The other thing I found to be a little odd was that there was no ATM in the hotel. We needed cash to be able to pay our car driver back to the airport, and had to go across the street to one (which ended up being out of service) so that was a little inconvenient, but our driver was kind and helped us find one nearby. Beyond those two things, the stay at the Warwick was nothing but positive. I was given a junior suite that was also handicapped accessible, and it was perfect. There was a very comfortable king bed, a big flat screen TV, a little sitting area upon entering and a desk/office area with plenty of outlets to plug in electronics! The wireless access was $10 a day, but for a flawless high speed, connection, it was well worth it The bathroom was absolutely beautiful and very good sized! Not only was there a roll in shower with a showerhead that could be lowered, but there was also a bathtub (that was lower than average so it was easier to step in and out of) with yet another ... • 3. Stephen Crane Dbq Have you ever read a passage and wondered how authors can make war seem so horrific instead of persuading the younger generations to volunteer? These four authors are especially good at protesting war by writing: Stephen Crane, who was not actually a participant in war, but encountered a lot of the wartragedies first hand and reported them to the public for the Spanish American War. Wilfred Owens, a twenty five year old who died only one week before WWI ended, he would write down his experiences and what he saw, but his works were not published until his belongings were sent back to his family. Tim O Brien, participant of the Vietnam War who is still alive today and currently works as a professor. Lastly, Kevin Powers, the youngest of them... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Document A: War Is Kind by Stephen Crane says Make plain to them the excellence of killing / And a field where a thousand corpses lie. This quotation demonstrates the brutal nature of war. Upcoming soldiers are being taught to kill and their ability to overcome and ignore the bodies lying around him that could be their friends or family. Stephen Crane witnessed this as he was visiting the war sites and portrays the actual war conditions, going bad to worse, proving death in war and the conditions soldiers have to survive in are inhumane. In Document B: Dulce et Decorum Est written by Wilfred Owen states Come gargling from the froth corrupted lungs, / Obscene as cancer.../ Of vile, incurable sores on innocent tongues, The brutality of war is also displayed in this quotation, but for the soldier instead of the soldier s surroundings. A gas attack was happening during this quote and it shows the effects the gas had on all the soldiers, not only the ones who were harmed. The author watched his fellow soldier being gassed and he had to push through, as if he was unbothered by what he previously witnessed. The speaker witnessed his symptoms, suffering, and his slow and miserable death. This quotation counteracts with the title Dulce et Decorum Est which translates to It is Sweet and Right by proving death caused by war is neither sweet nor right, but painful for everyone ... • 4. Abolishment of Animal Testing Essay Have you ever really thought about what happens during animal testing? How the animals are treated, or what tortures they have to face on a day to day basis? More than one hundred million animals suffer and die every year through animal testing. Ninety five percent of animals used in experimentation aren t even covered under the Animal Welfare Act, which regulates the treatment of the animals that are used for testing. Some animals are abused and mistreated so badly that they die before they are even experimented on. Animal testingis a cruel procedure and should be made illegal. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A mouse cannot speak for itself, but no living creature would willingly go through some of the horrendous procedures done on test animals. For the most part, a majority of the cruel experiments done to animals are extremely pointless. It has been reported that researchers will inject large amounts of LSD (acid) into elephants, just to see what would happen. The side effects of LSD in humans has already been established, so injecting elephants with the drug was highly unnecessary. Monkeys are also victims of pointless drug experimentations. For the most part, everyone is already aware of the harmful side effects that occur from smoking while pregnant. However, the federal government still grants researchers 10 million dollars to inject pregnant monkeys with nicotine. The nicotine causes the developing monkey fetuses to have lung damage and other birth defects. The unborn babies are then cut out of the mothers and killed so the researchers can perform autopsies on their organs. That is not all; the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center was awarded $71,623 in stimulus funds to feed cocaine to monkeys. Even though the effects of cocaine are already known for humans. The list of pointless animal experiments goes on and on. What are researchers even gaining from these useless experiments? Also, humans and animals are not the same! Communism became a fear during this period in american history, this fear began with the Bolshevik revolution in Russia and its ultimate turn to communism. This panic resulted in unjust treatment of many radicals and immigrants and the resurgence in the Klu Klux Klan. While on the other hand, the 20s held a positive effect of the advancement of women in american society. Evidently, the Red Scare, prohibition, and the advancement of women contributed to significant social and political change. The 1920 was a time of political injustice and unrest stemming from the communist movement and Bolshevik Revolution in Russia. Many Americans feared the invasion of the communist way of life to their capitalist world. This panic caused the Red Scare of 1910 1920. • 6. Chronic Conditions That Can Not Be Cured LTC s are chronic conditions that cannot be cured but can be maintained and symptomatically controlled with medication and therapies (World Health Organisation [WHO], 2015; Department of Health [DOH], 2005). The management of LTC s has been implemented due to the increase in the ageing population which in turn produces an increase in the incidence of LTC s such as diabetes, Parkinson Disease [PD], pernicious anaemia, chronicobstructive pulmonary disease, neurological and heart conditions. Due to word restriction the author will discuss diabetes and Parkinson s disease. Diabetes is a lifelong condition that causes a person s blood sugar to become too high or too low as the pancreas no longer produces the right amount, or any, insulin (NHS Choices, 2014). Insulin is a hormone which is released from the pancreas, working by moving sugar from the blood into other body tissues enabling the liver to stop producing excessive glucose. There are two main types of diabetes, type1 and type 2. Once known as childhood diabetes or insulin dependent diabetes, type 1 is much rarer than type 2 diabetes which occurs when the body becomes resistant to the effects of insulin (Mayo Clinic, 2016; MedlinePlus, 2016). Symptoms of diabetes include excessive thirst, frequent urination, tiredness, long healing wounds and unexplained weight loss which occurs due to glucose staying in the blood (Diabetes UK, 2016). • 9. Ideal Education For Future Students Ideal Education for Future Students Education is a form of knowledge that have been passed down and revise to the point of perfection. All of us have to get our knowledge from someone whether it is our grandparents, parents, siblings, or teachers. Through applying and processing the knowledge that is given, you could improve on the idea even further, therefore every generation will get the best from the last. Wisdom is only as useful as to how much you can exercise it into real life application, for that reason teaching isn t easy as communicating the information, but instead have the concept in practice. Learning isn t about memorization, but rather of how it came to be. For example in a calculus class you could have a teacher teach six trig equations two ways, first just tell the student to memorize it, or second you can show them how one equation can be rewritten five other ways and that s how the all six of them came to be. Banking education claim to be effective for memorizing things quickly, which is true, but then you will most likely to forget it later on. I like to think education is something worthwhile and essential knowledge to have, which sucks if you going to forget about it later on and the time you spent memorizing will just go to waste. Liberated education allows you to practice what you ve learn just like how you would do it on a job, by doing so you will retain the materials effectively. Henry David Thoreau made a speech in 1848 about the government, its injustices, and Theroux response to each. This speech and latter essay would commonly be known as civil disobedience. Here, we find everybody living and making rules for their own interest, participating in many evil activities, and encouraging the rule of injustice. However, we can also find some a few people, like Thoreau, trying to resist this race in order to stop evil practices and rules. Technology And Design Of The Kodak Camera Introduction A camera can simply be described as an imaging device or a tool used to record images in form of a film, photograph or video (Paul, Bon and Benjamin, 2014). As a passionate photographer, I carry a camera wherever I go since I believe there is always something special to capture; an emotion, a beautiful creation or a unique event. The Kodak camerais my favorite brand. Every year, the Kodak Company releases a better lensed camera featuring better technology and design. At this point, the Kodak 35 I had received from my father as a gift during my eighth birthday was no longer effective. I needed an upgrade and therefore decided to conduct an online research for one that would perform better. During my research, I made two conflicting realizations. First, the Kodak Company had begun developing digital cameras but the company was also facing the risk of bankruptcy due to low sales. Nonetheless, I was able to upgrade to the Kodak DC25 digital camera. Although it came at a high price, it was an opportunity to improve the quality of my pictures. By the time I was getting to my middle teenage years, I had used four different types of cameras. Out of the three cameras, two were Kodak (already mentioned) while the rest were the Canon IXY Digital and the Nikon Coolpix 2000. All these were quality brands that took my photography skills to a higher level. Today, there are more advance versions of each brand. With increasing completion among the camera manufacturers, it may be difficult to settle for a specific camera. Whenever I want to buy a camera, I analyze the camera resolution and durability. • 14. The Industrial Revolution Of Philadelphia INTRODUCTION: April 8, 2012 was the Sunday that Easter was celebrated that year. This date will also be forever remembered as the day that Lieutenant Robert Neary and Firefighter Daniel Sweeney lost their lives at the Thomas Buck Hosiery Factory fire in Philadelphia, PA. Since William Penn first founded the city of Philadelphia in 1682, it has been an evolving and growing city, from a 17th century colonial city to the capital of the United States during the American Revolution. The industrial revolution of the 19th century transformed the green fields of lower Kensington, a section of Philadelphia, to a mixture of homes and mills by 1875.... As the fire intensified, the command structure grew to include an operations section, logistics, safety and an exposure group lead by a Battalion Chief. For over two hours the approximately 45 apparatus and over 150 firefighters and paramedics fought to contain the fire to the original complex and protect the surrounding neighborhood. • 17. Max Weber Political Authority Essay According to Max Weber in his work of politics as a Vocation , he states that political authority can be broken up into three different types. He defines these three types as Traditional authority, charismatic authority and rational legal authority. Charismatic authority comes from a person s special qualities and ability to hold followers because of them. Charismatic individuals may use their authorityover a whole society or even just a specific group within a larger one. These individuals can use their authority for good and sometimes bad. Some examples of these leaders can be: Adolf Hitler, Mahatma Gandhi, and Martin Luther King Jr. As you can see in the people who were listed, they all had amazing personal qualities that led to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This person could be anywhere from a child of the leader or someone the leader knows and trusts. This in turn leaves a significant danger on the belief because the new leader may lack the required ability to persuade the same followers. For reasons, Weber recognized that charismatic authority ultimately becomes more stable when it in turn changes into a traditional or rational legal authority. A way that a charismatic leader can transform into a traditional authority is by accepting their bloodline, so that their authority passes to their children and then further down the line. Transformation into a rational legal authority occurs when the society that they were leading would in turn develop rules and a bureaucratic structure that is often partnered with a government. Weber defined this as routinization of charisma. When we compare this to democratic leaderships, the similarities tend to be that both give their leaders a ton of responsibility, but with similarities comes its differences. Democratic leaderships often require their individuals to have a high level of skills along with the will to work, the leaders are also rational and deliberate. While charismatic leaders appeal to the emotions of the people around them, and they are often seen as working towards the greater good. Traditional authority is seen as power that is rooted in regular and long standing beliefs of society. This authority is assigned to particular individuals because of the ... Immanuel Kant s View on Human Nature and Relationship between Nations Immanuel Kant (1724 1804) was born in Kaliningrad in East Prussia. Kant spent his working life there and also produced work on various subject matters including ethics metaphysics, epistemology, aesthetics etc. He published his three famous critiques and wrote on religion, eternal peace and politics. All of the above, Kant was the philosopher of human autonomy. He was of the view that human beings can determine and manage to live up to the basic principles of knowledge and action without assistance of anyone else, even without any divine support or intervention (Guyer). In this paper we will discuss the extent to which Kant s view of human nature provides a sustainable ground work for his views on the relationship between nations. In order to determine this, different opinions of Kant will be discussed regarding what his views about the human nature and how he compared it with the nations or states. Reflecting on human nature and writing about the human beings was the most important theme of Kant s all writings. Kant s study has emphasized three times that the question What is the human being? is a very important question in philosophy. Police brutality is the use of force which exceeds what is needed in order to accomplish a legal police purpose.Throughout America s history, minorities, specifically Black people, have been the disproportionate target of policebrutality. Static Stretching Benefits Almost every athlete from amateur to professional stretches before exercise, and coaches and trainers have recommended static stretching as an essential part of a warm up routine for years. But why do we stretch? What do we gain from this routine? Stretching increases flexibility, but many people stretch specifically before exercise to gain additional benefits, mainly enhanced athletic performance, reduced muscle soreness, and injury prevention. However, research suggests that stretchingdoes not provide these additional benefits in any significant amount. There is very little evidence that supports the claims people make about the benefits of stretching before exercise, but there is no evidence that it is harmful. It is simply overrated because it does not provide the benefits people think it does. Static stretching before exercise is unnecessary because it does not improve athletic performance, prevent muscle soreness or reduce the risk of injury. For instance, he says If you don t take this kind of stand, your little children will look at you and think shame (X 2). He is saying to make the blacks equal so the African Americankids do not feel ashamed of who they are. But MLK argues the fact that children are ripped of their selfhood and dignity. For example he says, We can never be satisfied as long as our children are stripped of their self hood and robbed of their dignity by signs stating: For whites only (King Jr. 2). He wants his audience to know that the signs are going to hurt the children. He also wants the people not to create those signs. • 43. Analyzing Proserpina s Decisions Proserpina, the daughter of Ceres, was panicky. Despite the fact that she was clearly told by her mother to not go far into the forest, she went against her mother s wishes and went exploring anyway. • 44. Slaughter s Essay Why Women Still Can T Have It All In her article Why Women Still Can t Have It All, Anne Marie Slaughter comes to the conclusion that women can have it all, but the present structure of today s society has made it unfeasible. Slaughter, a high profile government employee, was appalled when she received supercilious and demeaning remarks regarding her stepping down; ultimately choosing her family over her career (Slaughter). Choosing family may be an easy choice for some, but when today s society has placed an exceeding amount of value in ones career, some are faced with an unimaginable decision. For women to finally have it all, a family and a career, Slaughter argues that we must rediscover the pursuit of happiness, redefine what it means to be successful, and reacquire family values. Slaughter claims that society has redefined the value of childcare, and is irritated that employers make conjectures, of equally qualified employees, based upon whether or not they are a parent. For instance, she compares a marathon runner to a parent, who are both equally qualified employees. She continues to emphasize that to be both a parent and a marathon runner takes the same amount of dedication and determination. Slaughter insists, The discipline, organization, and sheer endurance it takes to succeed... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
