reason this problem is important is because we are losing our history of film.

PennyWise is a resale store affiliated with the Fort Bend Women s Center in Sugar Land, TX. This
organization works to advocate and provide resources for women and children who are victims of
domestic abuse. Their mission statement is:
The Fort Bend Women s Center empowers survivors of domestic or sexual violence and their
children to achieve safety, heal and begin a new independent and self sufficient life, while also
striving to prevent violence against women (Fort Bend).
Volunteers for the Fort Bend Women s Center fulfill a number of roles in their retail store,
PennyWise. In my service, I worked to help the staff organize and sort the various donations that
they received that were inundating their warehouse. Working with PennyWise exposed me to an
entirely different perspective than I was previously familiar with as I have always been insulated
away from people in such a situation. I found that the employees, women who were victims of
domestic violence trying to get back on their feet again, faced an array social problems that
severely affected every aspect of their lives. Several of the most notable social problems that I
observed intersecting with domestic violence were poverty/class inequality, gender, and race.

The Authoritarian Style Of Parenting Essay
Introduction In the early 1960s, psychologist Diana Baumrid conducted a research, analyzing child
parent behavior, seeking to identify parenting styles. The Baumrid study and other further studies
identified four main styles of parenting (Miller, 2010): the authoritative parenting style was
characterized by fair rules and consequences; The Authoritarian parenting style was characterized
by strict rules and harsh punishment; the permissive parenting style was characterized by minimal
rules with little or no consequences; the uninvolved parenting style was characterized by no rules,
and parent presence was almost non existent. In this paper, I m going to look at the authoritarian
style of parenting in an attempt to draw out its characteristics and its immediate and later impacts
on children impact. The Authoritarian parenting Style The primary focal point of the authoritarian
style is on respect rather than parent child relationships. Authoritarian parents are known for being
strict. They lay out rules and expect their children to follow them without question, even if the child
has a valid reason for questioning a decision. They establish many rules for the household and leave
little or no room for negotiation on policies. Authoritarian parents also fail to explain why the rules
exist because they believe that, as the parent, they are the authority on all decisions and shouldn t

This article is about how Victor Herbert, a nutritionist and lawyer, sued the National Academy of
Sciences for plagiarism over the authorship of the 10th edition of the Recommended Dietary
Allowances. He served on dietary panels at the Academy but in recent years has been fighting
them because the area of nutrition... has been lead astray by its staff. Victor sued the Academy
for listing people that only edited previous work as the authors of the 10th RDA. He claims that
after the Academy cancelled publication of the RDA, they kept his drafts and later published
them without his consent. He is asking for recognition as the author of the 10th RDA, $300,000,
and 5% of all sales. The Academy claims that they did nothing wrong. Victor says he has no
problem with the Academy, just a few of the people in it. After some disagreements, the Academy
asked the panel to rewrite the report, which the panel refused to do. The Academy then decided to
cancel publication. The panel then copyrighted all they had written so far and refused to let the
Academy use it. Victor is claiming that they developed the 10th RDA by editing his drafts and

Charlemagne, was a man raised on Christian beliefs who spent his life waging war on those who
were not Christian. Conquered peoples were forced to accept Christianity as their fate or face exile
and/or death. This manner of conversion to Christian beliefs completely goes against the teachings

How Did World War 1 Change European Society
I do not think World War I came completely by surprise. The nations of Europe were forming
alliances, mainly two camps, allied powers and triple alliances, were challenging each other for
economic, military and imperial gains before the shots were fired of First World War. European
states of the time and even the population and their politicians filled with nationalist pride and
wanted to show off how far they have improved their armies and modern technologies that came
with the second industrial revolution. I think the military leaders of the time wanted to test these
new revolutionary machines and modern weapons in the battle field. It changed our world

Nine years ago when I first joined faculty of engineering at Alexandria University, I would have
