This proposal is for a podcast about football aimed at males aged 15 and older from middle-class backgrounds. The podcast will entertain listeners and provide information about upcoming matches through informal discussions of lineups, managers, past results, and predictions. It will feature the perspectives of two people to make it more interesting. Potential legal and ethical issues are considered, with plans to avoid offensive content and get feedback to ensure no one is offended. Existing football club logos will be used but the podcast format is considered sufficiently different from others to avoid copyright issues.

Product’s Purpose:
The purpose of my product is to entertain the viewers as well as provide them with relevant
information to the podcast so that people will think I know what I am on about. The informal
language I will use will also add as a purpose towards making the audience feel less serious about
football, as football is a sociable sport.

My product will be about football. In my podcast I shall speak informally about this week’s
upcoming games or maybe speak about a match last week. I will also speak informally about the
line-ups, managers and also about past results against the same teams. Depending on the timings
I may also include my opinion on who is going to potentially get relegated and who is going to win
the title. I will also include 2 people in my podcast, this is so that the audience will get 2 peoples
point of view and perspective on the games. Also 2 people on a podcast will make the podcast
sound more interesting and ultimately more fun.

Audience:
My target audience is specifically men aged around 15+, this is a wide target audience because
football does not really have a specific target audience. I have chosen men as my target audience
as statistically more men play football than women. The social status is also middle class this is
because lower class people may not potentially have internet and I have not aimed this at higher
class people as it is very formal. The psychographic is balanced because people are not trying to
achieve anything except from learning about this week’s football matches. My podcast would
appeal to a middle class male who is older than 15 as this podcast will include football line-ups and
relevant information. The informal language will also appeal to the audience as it will make the
podcast sound as if a conversation is taking place.

Legal & Ethical Considerations:
I do not think that there will be any offensive humour included in my podcast. I am not actually
restricting younger people form listening to my product however It is aimed at 15+ males. This
podcast will also not offend any religious or any other groups of society. I will ensure I will not
offend anybody because I will because I shall get the tutor to check my work as well as peers. I will
be using existing football club badges in my podcast. My podcast will also not be similar to other
podcasts, this is because they are not such a big thing at the moment.
