Working Title:
Lost in communication
What is it called? This can change if you think of something better later
Audience:
My film is rated an 18 but my target audience will be between the ages of 16- 24. I have chosen
this specific age range because this around the age when audience expand their knowledge for
entertainment and as part of growing up. They are opening up to too many different types of films
or other media. Also, for obvious reason it’s a horror film in which It could frighten the younger
audience member or maybe older audience. When the audience are at an age when they start
getting into horror, that’s the perfect aiming audience that would take a serious interest in these
films.
This film will be aimed at a male audience because horror is mainly aimed at the male audience.
Particularly higher age rated horror at say ‘18’ is considered ‘cool’ from this particular age range
when it comes to this genre of films. Mainly because of the violence and gore that if anyone can sit
through then they have done a good job. Also, the characters that appear in the film are mostly
towards this age group with them being my friends and most of them are male.
When it comes to what social status this film would be aimed at it would be towards middle class
people. I have put my audience in this particular social group because that’s the film’s social
group. Most of this film is set in a normal average looking house as well as having middle class
people fitted into the film. Whilst I don’t consider there to be particular social class this film is aimed
at. If had to pick one I would go for middle class because then audience can relate to some of the
scenes that are going on.
Psychographically this film is aimed ‘belonger’ due to the setting and the area of where the person
is in the film. This is a character that isn’t really going any work stay in the same day to day life. He
doesn’t own a lot of money and we see the character slowly deteriorate as the film goes on so that
wouldn’t be placed in ‘achiever’. It also wouldn’t be place ‘emulator’ with them wanting to gain
power whilst ‘achievers’ are already powerful. It would have to go into belonger because the
character in the film is happy with going around killing innocent people and that’s the psychotic
part. I would also place this film’s audience as a ‘type A’ group of people. It’s about showing how
psychotic some people can really be and how you can’t trust everybody
Who is your audience? Be very detailed; age, gender, social status, psychographic etc. Use
the Audience Classifications PowerPoint on Blackboard to help you develop this section.
Why would your project appeal to this person? Discuss each audience element in relation
to content (why would your product appeal to the age group? Why would your product
appeal to the gender? Etc.)
Rationale (approx. 100 words)
Through doing my FMP I will be re-living the main different projects that have occurred over the
year. This includes creating the magazine that which was the main objective for project four. Along
with this I have also practiced my video editing skills this year for a video game and a short film
that was made at the start of the year. This year especially I have got confident in my skills for
Premiere pro. We have also used use garage band for our audio and used Adobe illustrator for
any other additional editing. So, I have experience with that as well.
Review your progress throughout the year- what skills and knowledge have you acquired?
How has the subjects you have studied this year informed your choice for this project?
What have you studied and how will it have a direct impact upon your project?
Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
My project will include:
 Videos: sneak peek/teaser trailer/full trailer/music created for it
 DVD cover art
 Posters: teaser poster/second poster/4x character posters
 Front cover magazine and article
For my FMP my concept is to be making the many different types of promotion for my short film.
My plan is to include all the different ways as successfully as I possibly can. This will include
making multiple trailer that are often regarded as the common way of promotion. These trailers will
Proposal

be released with original music that I should also make. I will also make DVD cover art as another
way of selling the film. I want to make something in relation to print as well when it comes to
magazine. in this magazine there should be an interviewer conducting an interview on questions I
have made myself. I will also be making posters for my film as a form of promotion. These will be
done by professional photography that has been taken.
With research I have researched intro various camera movement/shots that shall be used in the
film. As well as looking into existing products with them being posters, DVD’s and posters.
Through this I have been inspired by a variety of ideas that aren’t just horror which I can include for
my promotional material. I have also generated a variety of question that could be asked during
the interview process in the magazine from looking at previous ones.
What is the concept for your project and what are you going to make?
What research will you need to conduct and how will it help you make your project/
Evaluation (approx. 50 words)
There are many different means and ways that I am planning to evaluate my work through the
weekly reflections that I will be doing at the end of each week I will also being conveying surveys
to see what my strengths and weakness may be from the outside public, this will help gather a
second opinion on my work.
How do you plan to evaluate the work? Reference conducting on-going evaluation and your
final self-reflection, analysing your work and its outcomes.

02.) Proposal

  • 1. Proposal 1 Working Title: Lost in communication What is it called? This can change if you think of something better later Audience: My film is rated an 18 but my target audience will be between the ages of 16- 24. I have chosen this specific age range because this around the age when audience expand their knowledge for entertainment and as part of growing up. They are opening up to too many different types of films or other media. Also, for obvious reason it’s a horror film in which It could frighten the younger audience member or maybe older audience. When the audience are at an age when they start getting into horror, that’s the perfect aiming audience that would take a serious interest in these films. This film will be aimed at a male audience because horror is mainly aimed at the male audience. Particularly higher age rated horror at say ‘18’ is considered ‘cool’ from this particular age range when it comes to this genre of films. Mainly because of the violence and gore that if anyone can sit through then they have done a good job. Also, the characters that appear in the film are mostly towards this age group with them being my friends and most of them are male. When it comes to what social status this film would be aimed at it would be towards middle class people. I have put my audience in this particular social group because that’s the film’s social group. Most of this film is set in a normal average looking house as well as having middle class people fitted into the film. Whilst I don’t consider there to be particular social class this film is aimed at. If had to pick one I would go for middle class because then audience can relate to some of the scenes that are going on. Psychographically this film is aimed ‘belonger’ due to the setting and the area of where the person is in the film. This is a character that isn’t really going any work stay in the same day to day life. He doesn’t own a lot of money and we see the character slowly deteriorate as the film goes on so that wouldn’t be placed in ‘achiever’. It also wouldn’t be place ‘emulator’ with them wanting to gain power whilst ‘achievers’ are already powerful. It would have to go into belonger because the character in the film is happy with going around killing innocent people and that’s the psychotic part. I would also place this film’s audience as a ‘type A’ group of people. It’s about showing how psychotic some people can really be and how you can’t trust everybody Who is your audience? Be very detailed; age, gender, social status, psychographic etc. Use the Audience Classifications PowerPoint on Blackboard to help you develop this section. Why would your project appeal to this person? Discuss each audience element in relation to content (why would your product appeal to the age group? Why would your product appeal to the gender? Etc.) Rationale (approx. 100 words) Through doing my FMP I will be re-living the main different projects that have occurred over the year. This includes creating the magazine that which was the main objective for project four. Along with this I have also practiced my video editing skills this year for a video game and a short film that was made at the start of the year. This year especially I have got confident in my skills for Premiere pro. We have also used use garage band for our audio and used Adobe illustrator for any other additional editing. So, I have experience with that as well. Review your progress throughout the year- what skills and knowledge have you acquired? How has the subjects you have studied this year informed your choice for this project? What have you studied and how will it have a direct impact upon your project? Project Concept (approx. 200 words) My project will include:  Videos: sneak peek/teaser trailer/full trailer/music created for it  DVD cover art  Posters: teaser poster/second poster/4x character posters  Front cover magazine and article For my FMP my concept is to be making the many different types of promotion for my short film. My plan is to include all the different ways as successfully as I possibly can. This will include making multiple trailer that are often regarded as the common way of promotion. These trailers will
  • 2. Proposal 2 be released with original music that I should also make. I will also make DVD cover art as another way of selling the film. I want to make something in relation to print as well when it comes to magazine. in this magazine there should be an interviewer conducting an interview on questions I have made myself. I will also be making posters for my film as a form of promotion. These will be done by professional photography that has been taken. With research I have researched intro various camera movement/shots that shall be used in the film. As well as looking into existing products with them being posters, DVD’s and posters. Through this I have been inspired by a variety of ideas that aren’t just horror which I can include for my promotional material. I have also generated a variety of question that could be asked during the interview process in the magazine from looking at previous ones. What is the concept for your project and what are you going to make? What research will you need to conduct and how will it help you make your project/ Evaluation (approx. 50 words) There are many different means and ways that I am planning to evaluate my work through the weekly reflections that I will be doing at the end of each week I will also being conveying surveys to see what my strengths and weakness may be from the outside public, this will help gather a second opinion on my work. How do you plan to evaluate the work? Reference conducting on-going evaluation and your final self-reflection, analysing your work and its outcomes.
