2. Process
Album Cover
For the CD I used tools such as text
and paint bucket a lot as well as a lot
of smudging to create the colourful
cloud-like shapes in the background.
Editing and colouring was used as
well to make the guitar in the centre.
Poster
The prominent tool used on the
poster was text as it is apparent all
over the poster and makes up the
logo. The right font was difficult to
find for the information but I
believe Consolas was right for the
bold tagline “On their first tour”
Logo
This also uses text the brush,
text as well as a makeshift I
made just for this logo using the
eraser.
To make the logo I wanted to be
creative thus I took the colours
used for the CD cover and put
them in it. I also couldn’t decide
on one font fit for their design
therefore I used a different font
for each letter.
3. Reflection
• What elements of your experiments will you include in your
final product?
I feel like all the effort in the logo I
made shouldn’t go to waste and I
already like the design an believe it
has potential in the real product.
Minor changes can be made with,
including colour schemes but overall
there’s a high chance I will keep it.
Another element that might stay is
the colour scheme of the album
cover (blue, red, green, yellow) I
admit it’s not a totally creative colour
scheme but if used with the right
design, can be very appealing in the
final product.
The recurring imagery of a guitar
used in all of my experiments may
be kept also; a guitar is an iconic
prop to any band, let alone
rock/indie but I just think they go
well with the said genre especially.
All bands have a weird gimmick,
whether heart and soul of the
band or just some inside joke. For
Fake Band I want it to be the
smiley face used in the album
cover. In future products I might
try sneak the face in.
