Sources like Google images are always good for an array of pictures to
choose from but for exclusive high quality pictures there are
professional websites with special looks at Hollywood films and more
Cover lines To have sufficient and topical cover lines that attract a reader and inform
people of recent events you need to be up to date with news in the
industry whether it is coverage from a newspaper or celebrity gossip on
social media
Fonts The fonts that I will use for writing my articles are regular fonts available
on Word and Photoshop yet the fonts I am interested in for my title are
featured on the website https://www.1001fonts.com
6. Contingency Planning
Potential Issue Solution
Losing Work The best way to prevent losing my work is to continuously save it and
in multiple locations. In other cases I may be able to recover it by
opening most recent files.
Blurry Pictures
Potentially, my pictures taken for my product may come out blurry or
low quality. To stop this I can plan ahead of the pictures I need and
see which settings best capture that image or I might even have to
retake the pictures.
No Software There is a chance that the computer I'm working on doesn’t have
Photoshop or InDesign so I am unable to do my editing without it. I
will have to check before hand if the computer has these programs
or complete all magazine work in college.
Difficulties with
Design
Some designs that I envision and want to influence my work with
might be technically difficult for me to do and take a lot of time.
Simplifying designs and layouts may save time for me to work on
other aspects I am more comfortable with and make them the best
they can be.
Article Editing While writing an article its easy to get carried away and type more
than necessary, this problem can lead to the layout of a double page
spread changing completely to avoid this I’ll simply edit and cut out
filler content to leave just the important elements.
7. Health and Safety
Potential Issue How will the issue be avoided?
Outside of College If I spend time taking photographs outside of college then I must be
careful with where I choose to take these pictures and how I will
travel there.
Back Ache As most of this project and most of this course is in front of a
computer I must be careful with how much time I spend in front of
the screen and my posture as long periods of sitting hunched can
lead to back ache. To help I sit in a comfortable position and take
regular breaks.
Eye Strain Taking regular breaks is also important for your eyes and brain as
prolonged exposure to the blue-light screen of a computer can end
up in straining in your eye and give headaches. I spend reasonable
amounts of time away from the computer to prevent this.
Privacy and Security Browsing the internet and looking for sources, images and fonts is
easy enough but there are websites that demand details like emails
and passwords to continue. It’s important to be cautious with sites
like this because some may be scams in disguise.
Equipment When dealing with equipment I will be very careful with the wires
involved and try not to trip over the tripod when out taking pictures.
