2. Process
All production for Creative media start the same - with the creation of a new document.
At first i attempted to create my magazine on the program InDesign but not long into
production on there i promptly went back to photoshop which i fell much more
comfortable with.
So on photoshop i instantly make a new document called ‘Print- Magazine Cover’ save it in
my ‘Print’ folder on my college USB stick and start making my cover
3. Process
I have now started to design the potential layout of my magazine cover, my initial plans
detailed that my idea was to celebrate the films of 2019 with my magazine
and be in honour of all the amazing features that have come out in the last year.
here in my document i just used very thin rectangles to make the borders of where pictures/
screenshots of films of the year are going to be placed like a collage.
4. Process
At this time i decided it would be good to start designing the layout of my double-page
spread as well meaning i will have to pick a film, create a themed page about said film
and write a review on the film. I have chosen to make my DPS about Avengers: Endgame
and draw numerous inspirations from imagery associated with it to make my background of the
page. i also plan to watch the Endgame during writing my review on my laptop, thus it is not set
in retrospect.
5. Process
Inserting the pictures of these films in my document was quite time consuming, not because
it was hard to do but because it was difficult to decide which films were to be included and
in which order, after heavy consideration i believe this to be the best i could come up with.
The colours and themes actors are all up, front and centre on the cover and that is the point.
Colour to draw attention, the variety of different genres to appeal to audiences and the
actors to make people want to read it.
6. Process
Finally after putting the last details on both my front cover and my double-page
spread, including the mast head, anchorages, sell points, barcode and price for
cover and the title, page-length review, cast & directors and images for the DPS.
My magazine product is complete and looks better than i hoped. it is far from professional
work in the print industry but i am proud nonetheless. the last thing i
had to do is export both images as ‘.jpg’
