The fonts I have placed on the slide before are the selection that I know I will be wanting to add into my work.
The ‘Beon’, ‘Any Male’ and ‘Ballpark Weiners’ fonts from the Photoshop text tutorials. I wanted to add them in
for obvious reasons, which are that I will be adding in my own style of those tutorials within my work. Also
without the extra added effect the fonts themselves are still very nice and can still be utilized in an effective
way. After adding those three fonts I when on a longer search for other logo styled fonts to give me that
perfect variety. The variety is when it comes to my designs of album covers and posters. This helps me have
fresh work and not allowing myself to not repeat the same fonts/work. The fonts that I will be using them for
would be, ‘Payday’, ‘Slay tanic’, ‘Warlock’, ‘Neo Writer’ and finally ‘ill skills’. For my basic text use I was going
to use the ‘Cambria’ font which is just the standard word font. Nice and clear to read and looks professional. I
can still edit and adapt the fonts as I wish within Photoshop but with some of these fonts, it is a good time
saver if my time management becomes messy. With all these fonts, I tried to find fonts that really fitted in with
the style/content of magazine. As the weeks go on, I am finally beginning to shape roughly what my products
will looks like. So these two weeks will be me collecting multiple things relating to a music magazine. The
fonts in my opinion really work for me and its half the classic punk style mixed with some nice modern
designing which will help get my products do well.
Throughout the production stage I have no doubt that I will probably add in more fonts to help complete
my products perfectly. But to get me started, the selection I have now is very good and will allow me to get a
very good start in production.
Colour scheme-Magazine
1/album cover
My first colour I have chosen is this quite vibrant apple
green. I wanted to use this colour because I haven't yet
used it any of my work and its one of the more
aesthetically pleasing colours about in my opinion. I think
it can be very eye catching when used in the correct way
and I feel that its very effective. The green will be also
one of the main colours for the band which will help my
magazine and the edition link perfectly. This colour isn't
used much mainly because I think it doesn't go with
every colour but I will use it correctly to get the best out
of the colour.
I wanted to add in black for the main reasoning of it
being a really good combo mixed with the green I have
chosen. The inspiration behind the colour combination
is one of my favourite albums. The album being Dr
Dre's 2001 masterpiece and the two main colours are
just the green and black. Even though that is a classic
Hip/Hop album and my magazine topic will be on a
band, I don’t think that will effect the meaning
behind my work. The combination together just mixes
very well but I will be using more of a balance within my
colours not just heavy on black like on the album
cover.
With white, I wanted to just to help balance out that
black and green combination. I say this because for a
magazine, the two colours could be too heavy but by
adding in white it will help everything contrast better.
The white will only be for the background and some of
the design elements which like I just mentioned will help
break up the colours well.
Colour scheme- magazine
2/album cover 2
I wanted to add red for at least one of my magazines
due to it being such a popular colour to use for its
aesthetically pleasing look and how eye catching it is
to the public. I think I have used red for the majority
of my projects because of that fact and I do think that
I will be using this colour mainly for the masthead
and logo of my products. By doing this, it sticks to the
professional look/style that a lot of big and famous
magazines stick to.
I added in yellow because it will be sticking to the
subject topic. The topic is about leeds festival so by
adding in this certain solour scheme helps make that
appropriate link. I think with the colour yellow can
become rather in your face and over powering if
used incorrectly. But much like the Leeds festival
poster, its not that in your face because of how nice
the other colour contrast on top. This is why I made
sure to pick roughly the same colours just to get the
best design results possibly.
The white in most colour schemes for me is a colour
that helps break up certain colour combinations just
to make them more aesthetically pleasing to look at. I
don’t know exactly how I will use the white, possibly
as a background which is the more common way
magazine covers use. Or maybe try keep the same
stylemas the poster the keep the relativity from my
work, inspiration and topic. I feel that the white
background will always suit a magazine cover or
inside content
Location
This is going to be the of where I
will be taking my photographs. It
will be done all in the studio at
college and even though it is just
one location, I have a lot of
freedom within the room. I have
the options of multiple lighting of
my choice, as you can see in the
images. Also I can stick with that
white background which I
personally like but I could have
the colour of the background. I
wanted to pick this as the only
location just because I always
come out with the correct results
that I need. I could have been a
little less boring and varied the
locations but with my images I
want to try and take I don’t need
to go outside for them.

Jacket One jacket costing around ÂŁ35.
Camera/Image style
This is the Cannon camera I will be using
for my photography. I haven't really
focused on using different settings
because I have the lighting in the room to
get what I'm wanting.
As for the camera angles I was going to
use a mass variety of camera angles.
Before I only really used eye level shots
with my in. experience in photography.
But now I know to make my work
become more advance and improve it all
as a whole I needed to add in some
more types of shots. I know which shots
I'm going to use for each piece of
production. The shots that I'm going to
be using are eye level, high/low angles
and Dutch. I feel that if I use these shots
correctly the quality of my work will be a
lot better then previous work. It just
allows a fresh look and avoids that
horrible repetitive feel the my work.
Article 1
Purely Green are back with their second album a year after their massive debut album 'Long Run'. The massively anticipated
follow up album 'The gauge'. The interesting name had already got peoples attention without even hearing the music. From
listening to it myself, I can defiantly say that it was worth the wait and it certainly didn’t disappoint. The album consists of twelve
songs, each one really is its own song and all twelve songs really do complete the album. So far since its release last week, its
sky rocketed to the top of the Billboard 100, which hasn’t left anyone surprised. It seems that the trio must have been working
none stop after releasing their debut album to perfect and finish this album in time. Even though the band themselves are very
creative and produce their music, with this project they managed to work with a few big names. The big names they were lucky
enough to work with were Foo fighters own Dave Grohl, AC/DC's Angus Young and Phil Collins. You can really see the influences
from those three legends within their songs but then its all nicely merged with the Purely Green sound. The creative trio really
have a special talent and managed to pick some very suiting vocalists for two songs. They managed to come together Frank
Carter on the track 'Re-up Rhythm', with this raw singing voice. The second feature is a new young talented artist Billie Eilish and
she makes an appearance on the track 'Job Well Done'. 'Job Well Done' is one of those tracks where a band will try a different
sound, which either leads to success or failure. But it wasn’t failure this time, they managed pull it off and has actually become
one of the more popular songs on the album.
I managed to get an interview with the trio when whilst they were passing through FMM office and got some interesting answers.
Before I began the interview we had a small chat but from that small chat, I realised how far they will be going in their career.
They are only young and really fresh to the scene but speak as if they have been in the music industry for the past twenty years.
Anyway, I began by asking them if they were pleased with their masterpiece of an album and if it was all worth it after hearing the
amazing feedback. They immediately, all at once responded with "of course" and "Yes, without a doubt". Of course I already
predicted in my head the response of that question but its always a nice question to ask younger artists as their careers are
blossoming. I then moved onto my second question and I was curious to see how they felt after working with so many talented
people. Dan (lead singer) began to say "Its just an honour being in that situation and working with people that we have been
listening to, new or old" then he paused with Jack W (lead guitar) voicing his opinion "Its just amazing just to get the experience
and education from the best of the best". From the sounds of it, the boys didn’t take this opportunity for granted but actually trying
to better them selves further. I had heard rumours but had to ask them about their world tour. So I proceeded to ask them of the
rumours were true about it being a world wide tour and if they were going to take a supporting act. Jack H (drummer) said "all we
can say in the matter is keep your eyes open on the July fifth to find out the answer" I think they all enjoyed the sadness on my
face, making me wait like everyone else.
That concluded the very short interview due to them having a busy schedule but if haven't listened then go listen you will all
really enjoy it.
Article 2
Leeds Festival is one of the best festivals in England (non biased opinion). I will be going into my fifth year attending this
wonderland and each year gets better without fail. There is everything you need to have a good time such as live music,
camping with all of your mates and fairground rides. I love going to Leeds Festival because I have endless things to talk about
along with too many memories to count. Lets start off with the line up because that’s the starting point of getting everyone to go.
For me each year the line up has been amazing due to me have a wide range in music taste, so I’m always pleased with the big
names that come up. But I will say this, the first I went in 2015 with big artists such as Kendrick Lamar, Limp Bizkit and
Deadmau5. All of those three acts are some of the best live music I have ever seen till now and I have no seen a fair amount of
live music. There are some consequences in having a wide range of music taste, I do end up missing some of my favourite
artists because of having to pick between two favourites. I think the next stage is getting prepared. You need to be prepared for
any weather thrown at you. I do believe it was 2016 and it was just pouring it down all weekend, throughout the whole duration of
the festival. The sloppy, muddy, wet floor literally would make your walking impossible and that then meant hat the inside of my
tent was beginning to become muddy and a little damp which made it a real festival experience. But that’s just one year out of
the rest where it was raining that bad, for the rest of the years its been boiling hot. That means us having to cake on sun cream
and hope we didn’t get sun stroke because one year I think I burnt myself and nearly got sun stroke. I’ll have to admit that wasn’t
my proudest moment but I've been a lot more careful the other times. In my eyes, the essentials are enough comfy clothes for
the night time, loads of your own snacks, decent tent and your own chair. What I have learnt over the years is that you have to
guard that chair with your life due to people stealing it or always sitting in it. But that is just my opinion, I'm sure everyone else
has their own strategy.
Because I live quite close to Leeds Festival I can go on the early bird camp then go home the next day, shower and then go back
to fest. I won't go back home until the end so I get the full festival experience unless there is an emergency of course. Yes that
does mean I power through the smell of the toilets and its not the greatest smell either, I will let you use imagination. The last
thing I feel like I should cover really is the night life. The night life in my opinion is probably the best part because there is
relentless and Piccadilly DJ's on. There is a camp DJ in every camp and just the best camp is red. So there is constant music on
and if that wasn’t enough the fair ground is lit up and blaring out tunes on top of all that, plus everyone is in such a good mood. I
would defiantly say that it’s a special experience. Overall I think it is completely worth every penny you pay for and if you go with
a big group of mates then you will have the best experience.
Layout Plans-Mag 1
This is my first layout plan for my first
magazine. This is a really simple and rough
idea/example of how I see this magazine
will look like. First of all, the colour scheme
for this magazine cover will be the green,
black and white as I have labelled. The
masthead will be the initials of what my
magazine is called 'FMM' and that will be in
the 'Any Male' font. I always place the
masthead nicely tucked away up in the top
left because I feel it looks better that way
and gives that classic/professional styled
layout. It will also have the 3D design that I
previously practiced. For a band image, I
was going to take individual side profile
pictures of the three members of the band.
The members will be layered with
importance, for example lead singer first
etc. I wanted to do it just because its
different to what I would normally go for and
the layout should be successful. Keep the
cover lines on the right side alongside the
bar code and title of the article. The
coverlines will be in a standard font which
might be paired with some bold/underlines
parts just to help involved some text
hierarchy. The title of the article will be place
in the 'Ballpark weiner' font which just like
the 3D design I will be using the colourful
text tutorial.
Text Text
Text Text
This double page spread will be paired with the magazine cover about the and I will be
writing/covering. This means I will be involving the same colour scheme as the front
cover of magazine one. I had some inspiration from my own previous work with the
shapes on the left page. I wanted to advance it from my inspiration and have a more
creative look. I will have the triangles set out just as shown on my layout but I will be
making sure the images fit perfectly. I will achieve this by using a clipping mask to get
the best out of whatever imagery I have. Each triangle will have its own segment of
design such as a different coloured background and outlining of the triangle, but still
sticking to the same colour scheme. That will be the left side finished and then moving
onto the second side. I was going to just place the bands name 'Purley Green' at the
top of the page in that 'Payday' font. I think I wanted to use this payday font because it
fits the bands image and I feel like it will fit in perfectly within what I'm wanting to
accomplish. Then to finish the double page spread I will be placing a few sets of
columned text, which will be about the band.
I wanted to show off my skills but not be
too flashy, just because a lot of people
and myself included prefer the idea of not
a massively distracting front cover but
something that it nice and effective. I will
be using the 'Beon Medium' font for the
title of the album with the nice neon
lighting effect to go along with it.
Then below with maybe a slight outer
glow itself will be the name of the band
and I'll be using the 'Slay tanic' font for
that. The colour scheme of course will be
linking with the magazine and the band
as a whole. The title of the album will in
white, with the name of the band in green.
It makes sense to put their name in green
due to their name being 'Purley Green'.
The background would be a darker shade
just to help emphasise the neon effects.
With the donut, cigarette and the bottle of
beer I wanted to add in some imagery to
kind of represent each band member to
create some sort of personality.
This is my first music poster. I
wanted to try create a really nice and
creative to be more eye catching. I
will have the three members either
placed at the top in a similar
arrangement. Even though with
todays tour posters the artists have
their own art not necessary their own
faces but I feel like I can make it
work with the classic style. I will be
adding edits to the picture as well to
make it look more effective. Keeping
the relatable links with the tour and
the album, I will be using the same
font for the name of the band 'Slay
tanic' across the front. it will be the
top layer so you can spot it better. I
wont be placing tour dates as I'm
going to be creating a more
promotional one so the 'Cambria'
font will be explaining that. To help
with the reliability again I was going
to involve stuff from the album cover
such as the the donuts, cigarettes
and bottled beer. I might place them
in a lower opacity so they don’t add
too much to the layout. To finish off it
all the colour scheme will be the
same to add in with the collection.
Cover lines
This is the second magazine front
cover I will be making. It’s a special
edition/different issue of the same
'FMM'. It will be about my own
experience at Leeds festival. It will
have the same 'Any male' 3D font
as the masthead due to it obviously
being the same company. To join
that, I will have the title of the topic
in the 'Warlock' font being placed
just below the masthead. I wont be
adding in any images on the front
but I will be adding some creative
shapes. I feel that with a special
edition magazine they're always
designed differently, so I believe my
concept will be a success. The
shapes I will be using are relatable
to the festival poster which gives it a
nice link. The colour scheme will be
the red, yellow and white making
another link with my topic. I'm sure
what will be coloured and how the
colour scheme will work but its
something I plan to figure out when
its time to create them. To finish off
the page the cover lines will be
nicely placed towards the right.
Text Text Text Text
This double page spread on first glance even to me looks very basic compared to what
to my other design but I will hopefully will advance it in my production. I will stick with
the same 'Warlock' font the topic title paired with the same design to keep along with
my design. The two images with be of me and friends or just general images that I
have taken at Leeds Festival showing off my experience. I might involve more images
or even more pattern to help fill out the layout which will hopefully elevate the design.
The shapes I will be adding will be the same as the front cover but I will have to
change the slightly just so they aren't distracting the reader from the text. All I have to
do with that is like I have mentioned before is, I just need to lower the opacity of the
image to help it fit in the background. As for the text, I think the layout for them is
appropriate for what I have gone for, but I can imagine as the process of production
goes on I will find the best positioning.
This is the second album cover design and just
like the magazine, I have linked in with the
Leeds festival look. I have done this because I
had an idea of making it a special live edition
of their performance at the festival. This lets it
relate to the magazines and make it available
with the magazine. The same recurring
patterns as normal to help it fit in with the
almost collection. The differences this from the
other album cover is the patterns and I will be
using the red, yellow and white. The 'Slay
tanic' font will still be the name of the band but
more information will be added such as
something like 'Special Leeds Fest addition'.
Next I was thinking of the text hierarchy and
maybe that information could be placed in the
'Cambria' font which will be a nice touch of
variety. I feel that the designs could be slightly
simple but like I've been mentioning there is
always time for me in the moment for
improvements and changes.
Other artists Other artists
Other artists Other artists
This is the final piece of production
that I will be completing and its
going to my own festival poster. Its
will be called 'FMM Fest' and that
will be displayed twice in the 'ill
skills' font. One will be larger then
the other and slightly edited
differently. The lines and bars are
to help just fill out and separate the
acts from each other and stages
etc. At the moment it does seem a
bit cramped but when I am actually
creating it, all of the layout will fit
perfectly. There will be the main
stage and then four other stages
with multiple acts spread over the
day. Again it could seem every
simple with a plain styled
background so I will be adding
certain shapes and possibly some
patterned designs to lift the poster
to be a bit more eye catching to the
viewers. Then to help visual it
better and to add it to the other as
a collection of work it will be having
the red, yellow and white colour
scheme.

  • 3. The fonts I have placed on the slide before are the selection that I know I will be wanting to add into my work. The ‘Beon’, ‘Any Male’ and ‘Ballpark Weiners’ fonts from the Photoshop text tutorials. I wanted to add them in for obvious reasons, which are that I will be adding in my own style of those tutorials within my work. Also without the extra added effect the fonts themselves are still very nice and can still be utilized in an effective way. After adding those three fonts I when on a longer search for other logo styled fonts to give me that perfect variety. The variety is when it comes to my designs of album covers and posters. This helps me have fresh work and not allowing myself to not repeat the same fonts/work. The fonts that I will be using them for would be, ‘Payday’, ‘Slay tanic’, ‘Warlock’, ‘Neo Writer’ and finally ‘ill skills’. For my basic text use I was going to use the ‘Cambria’ font which is just the standard word font. Nice and clear to read and looks professional. I can still edit and adapt the fonts as I wish within Photoshop but with some of these fonts, it is a good time saver if my time management becomes messy. With all these fonts, I tried to find fonts that really fitted in with the style/content of magazine. As the weeks go on, I am finally beginning to shape roughly what my products will looks like. So these two weeks will be me collecting multiple things relating to a music magazine. The fonts in my opinion really work for me and its half the classic punk style mixed with some nice modern designing which will help get my products do well. Throughout the production stage I have no doubt that I will probably add in more fonts to help complete my products perfectly. But to get me started, the selection I have now is very good and will allow me to get a very good start in production.
  • 4. Colour scheme-Magazine 1/album cover My first colour I have chosen is this quite vibrant apple green. I wanted to use this colour because I haven't yet used it any of my work and its one of the more aesthetically pleasing colours about in my opinion. I think it can be very eye catching when used in the correct way and I feel that its very effective. The green will be also one of the main colours for the band which will help my magazine and the edition link perfectly. This colour isn't used much mainly because I think it doesn't go with every colour but I will use it correctly to get the best out of the colour. I wanted to add in black for the main reasoning of it being a really good combo mixed with the green I have chosen. The inspiration behind the colour combination is one of my favourite albums. The album being Dr Dre's 2001 masterpiece and the two main colours are just the green and black. Even though that is a classic Hip/Hop album and my magazine topic will be on a band, I don’t think that will effect the meaning behind my work. The combination together just mixes very well but I will be using more of a balance within my colours not just heavy on black like on the album cover. With white, I wanted to just to help balance out that black and green combination. I say this because for a magazine, the two colours could be too heavy but by adding in white it will help everything contrast better. The white will only be for the background and some of the design elements which like I just mentioned will help break up the colours well.
  • 5. Colour scheme- magazine 2/album cover 2 I wanted to add red for at least one of my magazines due to it being such a popular colour to use for its aesthetically pleasing look and how eye catching it is to the public. I think I have used red for the majority of my projects because of that fact and I do think that I will be using this colour mainly for the masthead and logo of my products. By doing this, it sticks to the professional look/style that a lot of big and famous magazines stick to. I added in yellow because it will be sticking to the subject topic. The topic is about leeds festival so by adding in this certain solour scheme helps make that appropriate link. I think with the colour yellow can become rather in your face and over powering if used incorrectly. But much like the Leeds festival poster, its not that in your face because of how nice the other colour contrast on top. This is why I made sure to pick roughly the same colours just to get the best design results possibly. The white in most colour schemes for me is a colour that helps break up certain colour combinations just to make them more aesthetically pleasing to look at. I don’t know exactly how I will use the white, possibly as a background which is the more common way magazine covers use. Or maybe try keep the same stylemas the poster the keep the relativity from my work, inspiration and topic. I feel that the white background will always suit a magazine cover or inside content
  • 6. Location This is going to be the of where I will be taking my photographs. It will be done all in the studio at college and even though it is just one location, I have a lot of freedom within the room. I have the options of multiple lighting of my choice, as you can see in the images. Also I can stick with that white background which I personally like but I could have the colour of the background. I wanted to pick this as the only location just because I always come out with the correct results that I need. I could have been a little less boring and varied the locations but with my images I want to try and take I don’t need to go outside for them.
  • 7. Production Schedule Production week Production Week 1 Photoshop- getting all my documents and layouts set up ready for me to begin work. Begin work on my front cover and double page spread. Week 2 Studio- take all the picutres I will be needing for my prodcuts. Apply all the images that are a sucessful to my work. Week 3 Begin work on my album cover and tour poster. Make sure everything works with the layouts and ask for some peer feedback to see if I could get any advice. Week 4 Begin work on my second front cover and double page spread. Week 5 Once finishing with the previous weeks work it would be tome to move onto the festival poster and the second album cover. Week 6 Finish previous weeks work and that will give myself time to check work and pefect. Week 7 Ask for some feedback on my work befoire handing everything in, make any corrections I need.
  • 8. Finance Clothes Prices Caps Consists of two caps, equaling roughly ÂŁ100. T-shirts Consists of two t-shirts and one shirt which will equal to roughly ÂŁ60. Hoodies/sweatshirts Consists of two hoodies, equaling to near ÂŁ80. Jeans/trousers Two pair of jeans and one pair of trousers, equaling to about ÂŁ70. Shoes Three pairs of shoes equaling up to about ÂŁ140 Jewelry Consists of earrings, nose rings and rings equaling around ÂŁ45 Jacket One jacket costing around ÂŁ35.
  • 9. Camera/Image style This is the Cannon camera I will be using for my photography. I haven't really focused on using different settings because I have the lighting in the room to get what I'm wanting. As for the camera angles I was going to use a mass variety of camera angles. Before I only really used eye level shots with my in. experience in photography. But now I know to make my work become more advance and improve it all as a whole I needed to add in some more types of shots. I know which shots I'm going to use for each piece of production. The shots that I'm going to be using are eye level, high/low angles and Dutch. I feel that if I use these shots correctly the quality of my work will be a lot better then previous work. It just allows a fresh look and avoids that horrible repetitive feel the my work.
  • 10. Article 1 Purely Green are back with their second album a year after their massive debut album 'Long Run'. The massively anticipated follow up album 'The gauge'. The interesting name had already got peoples attention without even hearing the music. From listening to it myself, I can defiantly say that it was worth the wait and it certainly didn’t disappoint. The album consists of twelve songs, each one really is its own song and all twelve songs really do complete the album. So far since its release last week, its sky rocketed to the top of the Billboard 100, which hasn’t left anyone surprised. It seems that the trio must have been working none stop after releasing their debut album to perfect and finish this album in time. Even though the band themselves are very creative and produce their music, with this project they managed to work with a few big names. The big names they were lucky enough to work with were Foo fighters own Dave Grohl, AC/DC's Angus Young and Phil Collins. You can really see the influences from those three legends within their songs but then its all nicely merged with the Purely Green sound. The creative trio really have a special talent and managed to pick some very suiting vocalists for two songs. They managed to come together Frank Carter on the track 'Re-up Rhythm', with this raw singing voice. The second feature is a new young talented artist Billie Eilish and she makes an appearance on the track 'Job Well Done'. 'Job Well Done' is one of those tracks where a band will try a different sound, which either leads to success or failure. But it wasn’t failure this time, they managed pull it off and has actually become one of the more popular songs on the album. Anyway, I began by asking them if they were pleased with their masterpiece of an album and if it was all worth it after hearing the amazing feedback. They immediately, all at once responded with "of course" and "Yes, without a doubt". Of course I already predicted in my head the response of that question but its always a nice question to ask younger artists as their careers are blossoming. I then moved onto my second question and I was curious to see how they felt after working with so many talented people. Dan (lead singer) began to say "Its just an honour being in that situation and working with people that we have been listening to, new or old" then he paused with Jack W (lead guitar) voicing his opinion "Its just amazing just to get the experience and education from the best of the best". From the sounds of it, the boys didn’t take this opportunity for granted but actually trying to better them selves further. I had heard rumours but had to ask them about their world tour. So I proceeded to ask them of the rumours were true about it being a world wide tour and if they were going to take a supporting act. Jack H (drummer) said "all we can say in the matter is keep your eyes open on the July fifth to find out the answer" I think they all enjoyed the sadness on my face, making me wait like everyone else. That concluded the very short interview due to them having a busy schedule but if haven't listened then go listen you will all really enjoy it.
  • 11. Article 2 Leeds Festival is one of the best festivals in England (non biased opinion). I will be going into my fifth year attending this wonderland and each year gets better without fail. There is everything you need to have a good time such as live music, camping with all of your mates and fairground rides. I love going to Leeds Festival because I have endless things to talk about along with too many memories to count. Lets start off with the line up because that’s the starting point of getting everyone to go. For me each year the line up has been amazing due to me have a wide range in music taste, so I’m always pleased with the big names that come up. But I will say this, the first I went in 2015 with big artists such as Kendrick Lamar, Limp Bizkit and Deadmau5. All of those three acts are some of the best live music I have ever seen till now and I have no seen a fair amount of live music. There are some consequences in having a wide range of music taste, I do end up missing some of my favourite artists because of having to pick between two favourites. I think the next stage is getting prepared. You need to be prepared for any weather thrown at you. I do believe it was 2016 and it was just pouring it down all weekend, throughout the whole duration of the festival. The sloppy, muddy, wet floor literally would make your walking impossible and that then meant hat the inside of my tent was beginning to become muddy and a little damp which made it a real festival experience. But that’s just one year out of the rest where it was raining that bad, for the rest of the years its been boiling hot. That means us having to cake on sun cream and hope we didn’t get sun stroke because one year I think I burnt myself and nearly got sun stroke. I’ll have to admit that wasn’t my proudest moment but I've been a lot more careful the other times. In my eyes, the essentials are enough comfy clothes for the night time, loads of your own snacks, decent tent and your own chair. What I have learnt over the years is that you have to guard that chair with your life due to people stealing it or always sitting in it. But that is just my opinion, I'm sure everyone else has their own strategy. Because I live quite close to Leeds Festival I can go on the early bird camp then go home the next day, shower and then go back to fest. I won't go back home until the end so I get the full festival experience unless there is an emergency of course. Yes that does mean I power through the smell of the toilets and its not the greatest smell either, I will let you use imagination. The last thing I feel like I should cover really is the night life. The night life in my opinion is probably the best part because there is relentless and Piccadilly DJ's on. There is a camp DJ in every camp and just the best camp is red. So there is constant music on and if that wasn’t enough the fair ground is lit up and blaring out tunes on top of all that, plus everyone is in such a good mood. I would defiantly say that it’s a special experience. Overall I think it is completely worth every penny you pay for and if you go with a big group of mates then you will have the best experience.
  • 12. Layout Plans-Mag 1 This is my first layout plan for my first magazine. This is a really simple and rough idea/example of how I see this magazine will look like. First of all, the colour scheme for this magazine cover will be the green, black and white as I have labelled. The masthead will be the initials of what my magazine is called 'FMM' and that will be in the 'Any Male' font. I always place the masthead nicely tucked away up in the top left because I feel it looks better that way and gives that classic/professional styled layout. It will also have the 3D design that I previously practiced. For a band image, I was going to take individual side profile pictures of the three members of the band. The members will be layered with importance, for example lead singer first etc. I wanted to do it just because its different to what I would normally go for and the layout should be successful. Keep the cover lines on the right side alongside the bar code and title of the article. The coverlines will be in a standard font which might be paired with some bold/underlines parts just to help involved some text hierarchy. The title of the article will be place in the 'Ballpark weiner' font which just like the 3D design I will be using the colourful text tutorial.
  • 14. This double page spread will be paired with the magazine cover about the and I will be writing/covering. This means I will be involving the same colour scheme as the front cover of magazine one. I had some inspiration from my own previous work with the shapes on the left page. I wanted to advance it from my inspiration and have a more creative look. I will have the triangles set out just as shown on my layout but I will be making sure the images fit perfectly. I will achieve this by using a clipping mask to get the best out of whatever imagery I have. Each triangle will have its own segment of design such as a different coloured background and outlining of the triangle, but still sticking to the same colour scheme. That will be the left side finished and then moving onto the second side. I was going to just place the bands name 'Purley Green' at the top of the page in that 'Payday' font. I think I wanted to use this payday font because it fits the bands image and I feel like it will fit in perfectly within what I'm wanting to accomplish. Then to finish the double page spread I will be placing a few sets of columned text, which will be about the band.
  • 15. I wanted to show off my skills but not be too flashy, just because a lot of people and myself included prefer the idea of not a massively distracting front cover but something that it nice and effective. I will be using the 'Beon Medium' font for the title of the album with the nice neon lighting effect to go along with it. Then below with maybe a slight outer glow itself will be the name of the band and I'll be using the 'Slay tanic' font for that. The colour scheme of course will be linking with the magazine and the band as a whole. The title of the album will in white, with the name of the band in green. It makes sense to put their name in green due to their name being 'Purley Green'. The background would be a darker shade just to help emphasise the neon effects. With the donut, cigarette and the bottle of beer I wanted to add in some imagery to kind of represent each band member to create some sort of personality.
  • 16. This is my first music poster. I wanted to try create a really nice and creative to be more eye catching. I will have the three members either placed at the top in a similar arrangement. Even though with todays tour posters the artists have their own art not necessary their own faces but I feel like I can make it work with the classic style. I will be adding edits to the picture as well to make it look more effective. Keeping the relatable links with the tour and the album, I will be using the same font for the name of the band 'Slay tanic' across the front. it will be the top layer so you can spot it better. I wont be placing tour dates as I'm going to be creating a more promotional one so the 'Cambria' font will be explaining that. To help with the reliability again I was going to involve stuff from the album cover such as the the donuts, cigarettes and bottled beer. I might place them in a lower opacity so they don’t add too much to the layout. To finish off it all the colour scheme will be the same to add in with the collection.
  • 17. Cover lines This is the second magazine front cover I will be making. It’s a special edition/different issue of the same 'FMM'. It will be about my own experience at Leeds festival. It will have the same 'Any male' 3D font as the masthead due to it obviously being the same company. To join that, I will have the title of the topic in the 'Warlock' font being placed just below the masthead. I wont be adding in any images on the front but I will be adding some creative shapes. I feel that with a special edition magazine they're always designed differently, so I believe my concept will be a success. The shapes I will be using are relatable to the festival poster which gives it a nice link. The colour scheme will be the red, yellow and white making another link with my topic. I'm sure what will be coloured and how the colour scheme will work but its something I plan to figure out when its time to create them. To finish off the page the cover lines will be nicely placed towards the right.
  • 19. This double page spread on first glance even to me looks very basic compared to what to my other design but I will hopefully will advance it in my production. I will stick with the same 'Warlock' font the topic title paired with the same design to keep along with my design. The two images with be of me and friends or just general images that I have taken at Leeds Festival showing off my experience. I might involve more images or even more pattern to help fill out the layout which will hopefully elevate the design. The shapes I will be adding will be the same as the front cover but I will have to change the slightly just so they aren't distracting the reader from the text. All I have to do with that is like I have mentioned before is, I just need to lower the opacity of the image to help it fit in the background. As for the text, I think the layout for them is appropriate for what I have gone for, but I can imagine as the process of production goes on I will find the best positioning.
  • 20. This is the second album cover design and just like the magazine, I have linked in with the Leeds festival look. I have done this because I had an idea of making it a special live edition of their performance at the festival. This lets it relate to the magazines and make it available with the magazine. The same recurring patterns as normal to help it fit in with the almost collection. The differences this from the other album cover is the patterns and I will be using the red, yellow and white. The 'Slay tanic' font will still be the name of the band but more information will be added such as something like 'Special Leeds Fest addition'. Next I was thinking of the text hierarchy and maybe that information could be placed in the 'Cambria' font which will be a nice touch of variety. I feel that the designs could be slightly simple but like I've been mentioning there is always time for me in the moment for improvements and changes.
  • 21. Other artists Other artists Other artists Other artists This is the final piece of production that I will be completing and its going to my own festival poster. Its will be called 'FMM Fest' and that will be displayed twice in the 'ill skills' font. One will be larger then the other and slightly edited differently. The lines and bars are to help just fill out and separate the acts from each other and stages etc. At the moment it does seem a bit cramped but when I am actually creating it, all of the layout will fit perfectly. There will be the main stage and then four other stages with multiple acts spread over the day. Again it could seem every simple with a plain styled background so I will be adding certain shapes and possibly some patterned designs to lift the poster to be a bit more eye catching to the viewers. Then to help visual it better and to add it to the other as a collection of work it will be having the red, yellow and white colour scheme.
