3. Research
• There are many strengths and weakness’s for my research document. One
strength is the amount of detail I included into my research power points. For
example in the existing products section to my research power point I talked
about two album covers, one album advertisement poster and one item of
merchandise clothing. For each of these existing products talked about the use
of lighting, composition, mise en scene, costume, props, location, colours and
fonts. All of these different aspects allowed me to give a lot of information of
my thought and feelings on that product.
• My research document helped me in many ways when completing my final
products. This is because I carried out a survey which included questions
which helped me find out what I needed and didn’t need to include in my
products. For example for one of my questions I asked “what genre of music
do you listen to?”. Me asking this question allowed me to figure out what
genre of music I should base my album cover on.
• One weakness for my research document is that I should have included more
that just five questions in my interviews. If I had of included more than five
questions then I could have gotten a better response for ideas for my final
project.

4. Planning
• There are many strengths for planning power point, one strength is that I
have gone in to a lot of detail on my style sheet. On my style sheet I
included a colour schemes chart which showed me all the different
schemes such as the split complementary colour scheme. On my style
sheet I also include information on fonts, I used DA font to insert 10
different fonts which I thought could possibly be used in my final design. I
then described the strengths and weakness’s for each font so I could
choose a font for my final design work. This helped me in completing my
final designs because I was able to quickly use the font I had previously
selected in my planning.
• One weakness for my planning PowerPoint is that I could have included
more information when describing each layout on my pre production
power point. I should have talked about the colours used, setting, props
and location. If I had done this then I would have been able to be more
certain and have reasons on making a decision for which layout to use.

5. Audience Appeal I personally think that I have
appealed to my target
audience for the lay out for
the album cover. I have used
may tropical elements in to
my full cover, this is because
my audience wanted to have
a tropical based compilation
which included specific
genres of music such as hip-
hop, dance and house.
In my questionnaire I found out that 80% for Hip/Hop, 40% for dance, 60% House. These
genres was the top three highest percentages, meaning that most of my audience wanted
to listen the hip-hop, dance and house. So I decided to use a tropical themed album with
those genre songs.
In my final album cover I think that the cover pulls off the theme with a unique and
modern tropical layout, I have changed the opacity of the image behind the main writing
such as the title, I then inserted my preciously chosen font, then I took some time finding
out on where to position the text.
Another technical quality to my album cover is have introduced major company logos and
applications on to the font and back of the album cover. This made my album look
extremely genuine and professional.

6. Technical Qualities
There are many different
similarities and differences
between my album poster and
this competitor album poster.
One similarity is that both of
the poster have a plain back
ground which then makes your
product which are advertising
stands out more against the
background.
Another similarity is that both
of the poster have a very
simple but modern font. This
just represents the simplistic
layout of the overall poster .
One difference between my poster and the competitors poster is that have chosen to
include company logos and applications on the poster for sponsorships with my album
cover. How ever on the competitors poster they have included a lot more information
about the album than me, however I decided to make my poster very simple for the
overall effect of my poster.

7. Time Management
• I personally think that I managed my time very well. Working
through all of the power points at the start of the project. This was
very good for my overall project because I was able to finish any
other work on time. When I was designing my album for my project
experiments I fell a little behind time because I spent a lot of time
in the designing of the front album cover which had positives and
negatives. Such as I was able to improve my skills on Photoshop so
that I could apply them into the production of my final project.
However a negative is that this made me fall behind when
completing my process reflection power point on my experiments.
• If I had more time when I was completing the design side and
written side of my work. It all would have been completed to a lot
higher standard meaning that in my power points they would have
a lot more detail to them and the same would occur for my design
work, they would have been finished off professionally and therefor
appeal more to my audience.

8. Aesthetic Qualities I personally think that my work does look very
good, there are many different design elements of
my album which make it look aesthetically
appealing. The way have used a white solid block
line around the main title and artists names, doing
this has given the whole album cover a very
modern and appealing layout. I also changed the
blending options for the background behind the
text, this was done so that my target audience
would be able to read the text without it being
blurry. I have chosen to place the company logos on
the bottom right and left on the album covers,
placing these logos in this position is very modern
and allows you to have a larger creative work space
for the main album cover.
The barcode has been placed in the top right hand corner, I had to position this in place on my album cover which
would make it easily accessible however that it doesn’t get in the way of the design features to my album.
If I was to improve anything on my album it would be change the background of the rear cover. I would do this so
that my audience can see the information more clearly which is wrote on the back cover.
There are many strengths and weakness’s for my album cover. One strength is the way I have managed keep the
tropical theme all through the layout and design of the cd cover. I did this by making sure that elements of the
cover such as the font was a tropical themed.
Another strength is that I have made the leaves in the background look an amazing vibrant metallic green. This
make the leaves stand a lot more than they would if they was just a plain green.
One weakness for my album cover is that I should maybe of included copyright information somewhere on the
album over. If I had more time when completing my album I would have included the copy right information on the
back cover at the bottom . This would have allowed me to insert the information just below the information naming
the tracks and artists.

9. Aesthetic Qualities This is a screenshot of my final cd design. Which I personally
think looks outstanding. The very simple layout is created
using just the tropical font, the background from my cover
and the general layout. I decided to design my cd in this way
to make it a competitor with other similar albums.
I have designed this cd in a very specific way so that it will
look just as modern and aesthetically beautiful as my cover.
The audience appeal for my cd design uses the tropical theme
to illustrates which Is done by the use of palm trees which is
instantly recognisable to my audience. If I was to improve
anything on my cd design it would be change the colour of
the background and make the greens stand out just a little bit
more than they do now.

this by inserting a full black colour over the top of my image
which can then be changed in many different ways such as
changing the opacity of the colour then finally changing the
layer option which can make some look vivid and metallic.
There are many different strengths and weakness for my cd design. One strength is that I have designed a very
clean and modern looking cd. This has been done by me inserting a thin white line around the edge of the cd.
Another strength is how I have position my title. Instead of just making the layout of my title simple and boring
and I symmetrically lined up the different words around the centre ring of the cd. One weakness for my cd
design is that you cannot see the copyright information very clearly. This is very important because within that
information there legal issues. If I had more time I would go back and make the text easier to read by adding
either a stoke around the letters or changing the layer options and opacity.

• What did you like about the product?
– I like the album cover which has a tropical side to it
which I think looks really nice. The inside of the album
designs are decent as well, they have the songs
suggested on one of them and it looks really
professional. I also like the name of the album which
is called Tropical House 2017.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
• You could have designed more than one CD cover .

• What did you like about the product?
– The album cover design was done well, I liked the
editing that was put into the cover, as well shit as the
whole CD case and CD.
– The colour scheme on the poster was good, I liked the
three different colours included on the background of
the poster.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– Some of the designs could have more on it, the
designs could be seen as simple, as there isn’t a lot of
design work on them.

• What did you like about the product?
– I like the different varied products you came up with. The album
cover works well for a house album. It helps to illustrate the
type of music genre you are aiming for. Because of the cover
design I think the audience will be interested in this product at a
glance. The poster works well for helping to market this too and
both seem in line with each other.
• What improvements could have been made to the
product?
– Improvements could be made to the product by including an
audio production in this to advertise on spotify and YouTube
where necessary. The front cover is good but may need some
copyright statements on for legal and ethical issues.

14. Peer Feedback Summary
• What do you agree with from your peer feedback?
– I agree that my album cover look very aesthetically appealing
and that the tropical aspects look good. I also agree that the
editing I did on the cover makes my album look very
professional. I also thing that the poster works well for helping
to market this too and both seem in line with each other.
• What do you disagree with from your peer feedback?
– I do not think that my designs need more detail on them, I think
that the way they are looks good and suits the tropical theme. I
do mot agree that I could have designed more than one cd, this
is because with the time I was given I would not have had
enough time to complete another album cover as well.

15. Peer Feedback Summary
if I was to make any changes to my work based of my peer feedback, I would start by
creating a second album cover which is a completely different genre to my first
album. This would have made my overall project more interesting and I would have
been able to use skills which I used on both albums and apply them to one another
to have two professionally finished albums.
I would also produced a advert which advertised my new album and merchandise for
a radio show. This would have gained me more marks because I would have show
than I can use multiple design software's and music software's. This advert would
include a scripted piece persuading people to buy my new album.
I would also try to make my products look as if they have more detail on them
however making sure that they sill look very modern to carry on the theme.
I would have also made several copy right statements just to say that I am allowed to
use my selected fonts, images and music. Doing this will just make everything run
smoother so that I do not run into any legal issues further down the line.
