2. Process
As always the very first step I took was to create the document on which I create
my entire project, located in my Video Games Rotation folder on my personal USB
stick so I could edit, use or view my product at any time as well as being saved on
the computer I work on. This extra backup makes sure I can’t easily lose my work
whether I lost my USB
3. Process
As stated before, the first layer i decided
to design was the background for my
forest scene where the characters would
walking and come across the boss, for my
animation to work smoothly i made the
layer tall so later, when editing in
premiere pro i can scroll up the page and
give the effect of my characters walking.
I also added the extra detail of small grass
clippings on the ground to add depth to my
artwork.
4. Process
After making all the backgrounds for my scenes
in my game i wanted to make the boss battle
scene with the haunted tree boss, i find the
characters in pixelated video games to be the
most fun to design as they can be infinitely
unique thus why i enjoyed making my villain and
spent time to detail him very well.
Setting the stage for the boss battle was one of
the most important parts of production for me
so i spent a long time perfecting the background
with the trees. The trick was to lower the opacity
and merge some layers.
5. Process
At the point, i got to make my characters
in a select screen and show their idle
animations. The pause menu was also a
good addition because if gave more insight
to the game and how it works. The player
can pause at any time, check the stats of
their characters, see how far through the
game they are, change their setting and
save and quit.
I included a + symbol near the top right of
the screen, this was used to indicate that
there are more characters to unlock and
play as.
6. Process
Finally, the last step in production was to piece everything together. The video, the animation an
of editing my video game on premiere pro was the panning shot of our characters walking up thr
Overall i think my video game project was a success and turned out not as good as i wanted but ju
