INTRODUCTION
• Electric cars are having a wide range of opportunity over petrol/diesel
vehicles.
• Electric cars are a more environmentally-friendly option than
traditional cars.
• The main parts in an electric car are,
A rechargeable battery
Controller
Electric motor.
.• Battery - Power.
• Controller - Converts the current from DC-AC
• Motor - Converts electrical energy to mechanical energy.
• we are planning to do a 3phase inverter with 3 phase induction motor
speed control which can be broadly use in electric cars.
• Which can easily convert the DC power from the battery to AC power
• we can adjust or vary the frequency of the AC power in order to
control the speed of the 3-phase induction motor.
MAJOR COMPONENTS
1.4*4 matrix keyboard : To enter frequency/speed value.
2.Microcontroller : 8051 or PIC 16F877A, used as the
controller.
3. PWM module: PWM switching module for generating
switching pulses.
4. IGBT inverter module : Gives inverted output.
5. Battery : Supply DC power.
6. Motor : 3 phase induction motor, used as engine.

BLOCK SCHEMATIC
SIMPLE WORKING
• we are giving input speed value through 4*4 matrix keyboard.
• Microcontroller converts it into corresponding frequency control
signals
• PWM module generates gate pulses for the IGBT according to the
signal obtained
from microcontroller.
• IGBT conducts when the gate is triggered, its converts the DC power
from battery to
corresponding 3 Phase AC current.
• The 3 phase ac current runs the induction motor, the speed of the
MAJOR APPLICATIONS
IN ELECTRIC CARS: we can replace the more costly, bulky BLDC motor
by the more efficient and less costly 3 phase induction motors .
As like the electric cars we can use this inverter module in driving
mechanisms used in industrial applications where 3 phase supply is not
available.
Using this we can use 3 phase motors with 1 phase supply by simply
adding this module, we can covert 1 phase supply to dc then to 3phase
power with motor speed control.

  • 2. INTRODUCTION • Electric cars are having a wide range of opportunity over petrol/diesel vehicles. • Electric cars are a more environmentally-friendly option than traditional cars. • The main parts in an electric car are, A rechargeable battery Controller Electric motor.
  • 3. .• Battery - Power. • Controller - Converts the current from DC-AC • Motor - Converts electrical energy to mechanical energy. • we are planning to do a 3phase inverter with 3 phase induction motor speed control which can be broadly use in electric cars. • Which can easily convert the DC power from the battery to AC power • we can adjust or vary the frequency of the AC power in order to control the speed of the 3-phase induction motor.
  • 4. MAJOR COMPONENTS 1.4*4 matrix keyboard : To enter frequency/speed value. 2.Microcontroller : 8051 or PIC 16F877A, used as the controller. 3. PWM module: PWM switching module for generating switching pulses. 4. IGBT inverter module : Gives inverted output. 5. Battery : Supply DC power. 6. Motor : 3 phase induction motor, used as engine.

SIMPLE WORKING • we are giving input speed value through 4*4 matrix keyboard. • Microcontroller converts it into corresponding frequency control signals • PWM module generates gate pulses for the IGBT according to the signal obtained from microcontroller. • IGBT conducts when the gate is triggered, its converts the DC power from battery to corresponding 3 Phase AC current. • The 3 phase ac current runs the induction motor, the speed of the
  • 7. MAJOR APPLICATIONS IN ELECTRIC CARS: we can replace the more costly, bulky BLDC motor by the more efficient and less costly 3 phase induction motors . As like the electric cars we can use this inverter module in driving mechanisms used in industrial applications where 3 phase supply is not available. Using this we can use 3 phase motors with 1 phase supply by simply adding this module, we can covert 1 phase supply to dc then to 3phase power with motor speed control.
