India's revolutionary freedom fighter Bhagat Singh was hanged to death
on March 23, 1931 along with two other Indian freedom fighters Sukhdev
Thapar and Shivaram Rajguru.
This year is Shaheed Bhagat Singh's 91st death anniversary.
The young revolutionary leaders were tried and convicted by the British
for fatally shooting British police officer John Saunders, whom they
mistook for British police superintendent James Scott who they believed
was responsible for the death of the popular nationalist leader Lala Lajpat
Rai, who martyred after succumbing to injuries sustained during a lathi
charge.
India commemorates March 23rd every year as Shaheed Diwas to

5. North Korea fires banned intercontinental
ballistic missile, Japan's PM Fumio Kishida
condemns launch
North Korea fired what is suspected to be an intercontinental ballistic
missile (ICBM) towards the sea off its east coast on March 24, 2021, as
per the militaries of South Korea and Japan.
This missile has reportedly landed in Japan's exclusive economic
zone. This could possibly be the first full-capability launch of an
intercontinental ballistic mission by nuclear-armed North Korea since
2017.
North Korean state media reported that the North Korean Leader Kim
Jong Un has ordered a test of a new type of ICBM. Kim Jong Un
personally oversaw the test-firing of the country's "new type" of
intercontinental ballistic missile to boost its nuclear deterrent against
the US "imperialists".
Japan's Prime Minister Fumio Kishida has condemned North Korea's
launch of a suspected intercontinental ballistic missile that landed in
his country's exclusive economic zone as an "outrageous,
unforgivable" act.

6. SpiceJet collides with electric pole at Delhi
Airport
A SpiceJet flight collided with an electric pole before takeoff at the Delhi
Airport during its pushback. The aircraft was SpiceJet flight SG 160 and it
was headed towards Jammu from Delhi.
The SpiceJet flight ran into a pole damaging both the pole and the plane.
A SpiceJet Spokesperson confirmed, "Today, SpiceJet flight SG 160 was
scheduled to operate between Delhi & Jammu. The aircraft's right-wing
trailing edge came in close contact with a electricity pole during push
back, causing damage to aileron.“
The passengers are reportedly safe and they were boarded on a different
plane to head towards their destination.
An investigation has been launched into the incident.
Aileron is an hinged part on the trailing end of the wing that helps steer
the plane. Ailerons are attached to the outboard trailing edge of each
wing. They are movable parts of the airplane wing that are controlled by
the pilot and permit the pilot to roll the aircraft around its longitudinal
axis.
Ailerons are used to bank the aircraft for turning, to cause one wing tip to
move up and the other wing tip to move down.
