Dynamics of fluid flow
Dynamics of fluid flow is the study of fluid motion with the
forces causing flow.
Dynamic behavior of the fluid flow is analyzed by the
Newton's second law of motion which relates to the
acceleration with the forces.

Assumptions of Bernoulli’s
equation
• The fluid is ideal i.e viscosity is zero
• The flow is steady
• The flow is incompressible
• The flow is irrotational
Bernoulli's equation for real fluid
• This equation was with an assumption fluid is
inviscid (non-viscous) and frictionless.
• But all real fluids are viscous and offer resistance to
flow.
• This causes loss in energy during fluid flow and this
has to be taken into consideration.
Practical applications of Bernoulli's
equation
• It is applied in all problems of incompressible fluid
flow where energy considerations are involved.
• It has its applications in
a) Venturimeter
