GIVING GIFTS TO OUR VISITORS – Each December we celebrate the ultimate gift, Jesus born as our Savior and
King. We share that gift with everyone…visitors and regular worshipers. If you are a visitor, let us know you were here;
please fill out the Fellowship Pad (it‘s in the hymnal rack) with today‘s date, your name, address, phone #, etc.
EXPERIENCING JOY DURING A "CRUCIBLE EXPERIENCE" – Join us in the Parlor today and in the coming
weeks for a class about deep inner joy. What is a "Crucible Experience"? A time of suffering that produces a deep
transformation on the inside. Come and watch St. Paul share his deep inner joy during a time in the "crucible". We will be
studying the book of Philippians at 9:15 and 10:30am on Sundays (change for today; 2nd time slot begins at 10:45am).
TODAY’S THE DAY – Come to the Sanctuary at 10:00am for our Annual Voters‘ Meeting. This is our congregation
and His church; we are called to be good stewards of it, and part of that is our joyful participation in its governance. Let‘s
see everyone at this vital meeting.
NURSERY AND SUNDAY SCHOOL SPECIAL – Children (toddling to 3 years) are invited to the Nursery during the
9:15am service. Older children, age 4 thru grade 6, can attend Sunday School (they are dismissed after the Children‘s
lesson). NOTE: The 9:15am service is shorter today due to the Voters‘ Meeting at 10am, but Sunday School will be in
session until 10:30am. Please allow the teachers to finish their lesson; stay at the Voters‘ Meeting until they are released.
CHRISTMAS COOKIE/CANDY/BREAD SALE – Come to the Gym TODAY between 7:30am-11am. Cookies and
Candy will be sold by the pound and breads sold by the loaf; containers will be provided. Thank you and Merry Christmas
from Greg, Deb, Gladys and Connie.
TOYS FOR TEENS DEADLINE TODAY – If you plan to bring an item or two for the Toys for Teens program run by
The Salvation Army, please make sure that your gifts are here TODAY. Item(s) should be UNWRAPPED.
HELP US BEAUTIFY THE ALTAR FOR CHRISTMAS – Sign up to buy a $10 poinsettia plant by Dec 12; sheets are
in the Narthex. Please include your name and the reason for the celebration. Colors will be determined when purchased.
MITE BOX SUNDAY – TODAY, our LWML will collect your Mite Box money. Empty your box and take it back home
(or leave your full one and pick up a new, empty one). We will collect mites on the second Sunday of each month.
2. STATE OF THE PARISH REPORT – Copies of the State of the Parish report are now available at the Welcome
Center. Please pick up a copy to review at your leisure.
LADIES' MOVIE NIGHT-- 7PM DECEMBER 13 – The LWML invites all women to movie night. We will watch
―The Nativity Story‖. Feel free to bring a drink or snack to share. Contact Stephenie: stephhov@hotmail.com / 264-8317.
2011 OFFERING ENVELOPES – Offering envelopes for 2011 are now available in the office hallway. If you no
longer need or want your giving recorded or you want to change anything in your Simply Giving for 2011, call the office.
WHAT’S THE BUZZ? – We are again in need of 9 volt batteries for our wireless microphones used during services. If
you can donate any amount, please bring them to the church office.
OPEN GYM – Our Saviour‘s Cub Scout Pack is sponsoring an Open Gym this Saturday, December 18, from 9:30-11am.
All boys in grades 2-5 and their dads are welcome to attend. No reservation needed; just come and have fun.
HIS LOVE – OUR RESPONSE – As mentioned last month, our theme for 2011 is ―His Love–Our Response‖. If you
would like to lend a hand to assist with events and accessories [Banners and such] to this theme, please tell Pastor Dave.
SCRIP NEWS – $5,000 was given to OSLC from SCRIP sales. Stop by the Welcome Center to buy holiday gift cards for
anyone on your Christmas list. Every purchase helps OSLC. Enroll in our Education Program and 50% of the profit from
your SCRIP purchases will go towards your child‘s tuition at Trinity or OSL Preschool. Check out the list of vendors (gas
stations, grocery stores, restaurants, theaters, home improvement and book stores, etc. Use for yourself or give as gifts!
ADVENT DEVOTIONS – Devotion booklets are still available in the Narthex today. These are provided at no charge to
OSLC by Lutheran Association of Missionaries and Pilots U.S. ALSO, Home for the Holidays is available as a daily
readable, downloadable, printable, and customizable offering. An audio version is also available. Home for the Holidays is
also available as an e-mail subscription. Check it out at www.lhm.org.
GIVE A GIFT TO THE KITCHEN – In this holiday season, we ask for donations of coffee, creamers, cans of Coca-
Cola and Pepsi products (for fish fries), cookie dough, brown and powdered sugar and butter to restock our shelves.
Watch for sales at area stores and considering dropping off a gift to the kitchen (or office if no one is in the kitchen). Note:
Give twice: donate a Festival or Copp‘s gift card from SCRIP. Every donation helps fund fellowship events including the
Friday Fish Fry, Cinnamon Rolls, etc. We appreciate your support. Thanks and have a blessed holiday season!
YOUTH NIGHT OR NOT? – Youth nights will be held on Wednesdays when there is Confirmation Class. In the
upcoming weeks, there will be no Confirmation class and no youth nights on December 22 and 29. On other Wednesdays,
please come for homework help, time to study, play time and a great meal for just $3.
CHRISTMAS SERVICES – Attend one of FOUR services on Christmas Eve (Praise at 1:30pm and 3:30pm; Traditional
service at 5:30pm and 7:30pm. Our Christmas Day (Saturday) service will be at 10am. Sunday, December 26 will be
‗normal‘ with three services at 7:45, 9:15 and 10:45 am, however, there will be no Sunday School or Nursery on this day.
COURAGE TO TELL THE STORY – Come and join us for the film ―End of the Spear‖ on Saturday January 8th or
Sunday January 16th (both at 6pm) and watch how God takes trouble and turns it into a blessing! The night will include a
live electronic interview with Steve Saint, the author of the film. Read all about this amazing story in advance at the

DONATION BINS – The collection bins for most items are now on the 2nd floor just past the elevator, near the coat
room. The Box Tops, Labels for Education, Capri Sun, etc. cart remains in the main hallway by the Preschool door.
ADVERTISE IN THE VOICE – We are now accepting new advertisers for our monthly newsletter, The Voice. A
business card sized space is available at a cost of $300 for one year. To begin in January, please contact Michelle by
December 10 (468-4065 or info@oslc-gb.org). Ads can begin and end at any time; seasonal ads are accepted.
VACATION PLANS – Because Michelle will be out of the office from Dec 24 at noon to Jan 3 at 8am, announcements
for the Dec 26 bulletin need to be received by noon on Monday, Dec 20; announcements for January 3 bulletin need to be
received by noon on Tuesday, December 21. These deadlines cannot be extended. Thanks for your assistance!
OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD SUMMARY – Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder
them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 19:14. In praise and thankfulness to what the Lord
has given us, our members have responded with love and generosity to His children! By the end of our collection, 78 shoe
boxes were delivered to Crossroads Community Church in Green Bay. From there they were shipped to the processing
center in Minneapolis; the final processing at the regional centers (Boone, Charlotte, Atlanta, Minneapolis, Denver, Santa
Ana) began November 24. A heartfelt thank you to all who contributed to the success of this ministry. Praise be to God!
TRINITY NEWS – Come to the Education Hallway on January 11 at 6:30pm for our Kindergarten Open House; invite the parent
of a prospective kindergarten student. Trinity students will be gift-wrapping at Barnes & Noble on Dec 17 from 4-8pm. Christmas
Cards designed by Trinity students, are for sale at the Welcome Center; please leave a donation in the envelope provided.
SENIOR CITIZEN BIBLE BREAKFAST AT NEW LUTHERAN HIGH – On Thursday, 12/16, NEWLHS will host
a special Bible Study and Breakfast for Senior Citizens. The breakfast will start at 9:15 with a special Advent Bible study
from 9:45-10:30 to follow. Please come and enjoy the fellowship, a wonderful buffet style breakfast and the time together
to study God's Word as it pertains to the coming of His Son. To reserve a spot, please call the school office at 469-6810.

DISCOUNT CARDS FOR SALE – The N.E.W. Softball Team is selling discount cards for local businesses for $10.
The card is good until November 2011; you can use the card over and over again! See Kellie Meerstein. The money
raised will be used to purchase softball apparel, bats, and softballs.
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU CLIP – Many coupons are coming in each week and we thank those who are taking the
time to clip them. Please be careful, though, that you don‘t try to cut too many at one time or that you clip too close…the
expiration date and bar code must be intact to be redeemed by our overseas military families.
