VISITORS ARE GOD’S GIFT – Visitors and friends are always welcome to worship with us. Please let us know you
were here; fill out the Fellowship Pad (it‟s in the hymnal rack) with today‟s date, your name, address, phone number, etc.
Please come and worship with us again!
CHILDREN WELCOME TO SERVICE – The nursery and Sunday School are closed today. We welcome your
children to join us in our worship services. We have a cry room in the back and our ushers can assist you, if needed.
Children‟s bulletins, for ages 3-6 and 7-12, can be found on the counter in the Narthex.
PORTALS OF PRAYER – The January-March issue of Portals of Prayer is now available on the counter in the Narthex.
KEEP IT UP – The food bins are getting full but don‟t stop now. We are still putting on the Christmas holiday push for
non-perishable foods for those less fortunate. All donations are brought to Manna for Life for distribution to area needy.
HOMELESS MINISTRY UPDATE – The number of residents being served at St John's Homeless Shelter is now 55
(up from 40) and they are licensed to house no more than 60. On Tuesday, December 29th, we will be serving a Chicken
Casserole, Orange Jell-O Salad, and Angel Food Cake with Rice Krispies Bars. Members wishing to make a financial
donation may do so by writing their name on the front of a plain envelope, including their church envelope number and
the wording “Homeless Shelter Meals." These donations will be used to purchase future food items as well as serving
items (paper plates, cups, forks, knives, spoons, etc.). WE ALSO NEED empty gallon and 5-quart ice cream pails to
deliver soup to the Shelter; please drop off at the office or the kitchen.
YOUTH NIGHT – Since there is no Confirmation Class on December 30, there will be NO Youth Night that night.
Make sure the first one of 2010 is on your calendar…it‟s January 6!

2. THURSDAY SERVICE – Next week Thursday is New Years Eve day. There will be only one service on that
day…6:00 pm (no noon service). The office will be open on December 31 but no SCRIP will be available for purchase.
REPORTS STILL AVAILABLE – Couldn‟t get to the Voter‟s Meeting? The State of the Parish report, along with the
2010 proposed budget and the November income statement, are available at the Welcome Center.
COUNCIL MINUTES AVAILABLE – The minutes from the November Church Council meeting can be picked up at
the Welcome Center.
YOUTH MOVIE NIGHT – Saturday, January 2nd from 6-9…the first movie night of the new year! Dinner will be
provided. Please bring your favorite bag of chips to share. If there is a movie you would like to see, just let Trey
Boerschinger, McKenzie Waniger or Pastor Greg know.
YOUTH SKI NIGHTS ARE BACK!! – The first ski night is scheduled for Friday, 1/22 and the second is Friday, 2/26.
Watch the bulletin and the youth board for details.
HOW DOES SHE DO IT? – You might think that Michelle in the office is a „know-it-all‟ but she has a secret…she
listens (and reads)! If your contact information (phone number, address or email) has changed, call or send an email to let
her know. If you have an event coming up and want to advertise it in the announcement sheet, send your information by
email to info@oslc-gb.org no later than noon on Tuesday. If you have something to add to the monthly newsletter, get
that information to the office by the 10th of the month. Michelle can only dispense information that she has received…so
help her help the congregation to get the right information on a timely basis.
DID YOU SEE? – They might be snow-covered now, but did you notice the new sidewalks to the school entrances on the
north side of the building and the extension on the parking lot drive by the parsonage for the booyah kettles? These were
donated anonymously and constructed by Howard Immel Construction.
LITTLE ONES GROW UP SO FAST! – Did your little one grow up faster than you expected? Do you need a toddler
bed for that „next step‟ in his/her life? A toddler bed has been donated for someone if need. If that is you and your little
one, please call Michelle in the office at (920) 468-4065.
START OFF 2010 RIGHT – Make plans to attend the first Fish Fry of 2010; January 8 is the date. An insert in today‟s
bulletin includes all of the Fish Fry dates thru May 2010. Take it home, stick it on the fridge and join us when you can.
KINDERGARTEN OPEN HOUSE – Will be held on January 12 at 6:30pm. Parents and children welcome. Get your
questions answered, gather information, see the room, and meet Miss Spatz.
SUMMER CAMP 2010 ONLINE REGISTRATIONS OPEN JANUARY 1!!! – Mark your calendars! As you usher in
the New Year, you can also register for Summer Camp 2010 at www.campluther.com. Ensure your first choice week and
village at our secure website. If you have attended camp before, look for a brochure in your mailbox by mid December!
And don‟t forget to bring a friend who has never been to Camp Luther before and you will both get a 20% discount!!
COLLEGE STUDENTS NEEDED – We need to fill 2010 Summer Staff positions at Camp Luther, such as counselors,
lifeguards and first aid/arts and crafts coordinator. Job descriptions/applications are available at www.campluther.com.
Those who apply and are accepted will enjoy a fulfilling and active summer having fun and sharing their Christian faith
with children of all ages. Please prayerfully consider this meaningful summer opportunity. In addition, High School
sophomores, juniors, and seniors are eligible to apply for Junior Counselor positions; applications are currently being

FAMILY FLURRY RETREAT FEBRUARY 5-7 –Camp Luther offers a great getaway for the whole family that
combines learning, fun, and family time. Opportunities include all kinds of winter outdoor activities, plus devotions, age-
appropriate Bible study and bonfires. Bring a new family with you and you will both receive a 20% discount!

BETHESDA MERGES WITH GOOD SHEPHERD – Bethesda Lutheran Homes and Good Shepherd Communities
have merged and are now known as Bethesda Lutheran Communities. This merger allows them to become a strong
nationwide provider of supports and services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. If you would like
to support this new ministry, donation envelopes are available in the Narthex, at the Welcome Center and in the brochure
holder by the mailboxes in the office hallway.
