Compare And Contrast Priscilla And The Wimps
Comedy is a type of entertainment that uses jokes and skits that are intended to make the audience
laugh. In the short story, Priscilla and the Wimps, Monk Clutter had the school under control with his
gang, the Klutters Kobras. Before Priscilla came, the gang would go around the school stealing kids
lunch money from students. When Priscilla came, Monk had finally met his match. Richard Peck s
short comedy, Priscilla and the Wimps is a high level of comedy that uses comic characters, comic
situations, and comic language to convey the importance of treating others the way you want to be
treated. Priscilla and the Wimps is an example of high comedy because the author uses witty
exaggerating, and mocking jokes. The author of the short story uses clever wordplay to create witty

chuckles and grins from the readers since Priscilla play the role of a bigger person. Another example
of a comic situation is when Priscilla had stuffed ..Monk into her own locker (Peck 345). This
laughable situation creates humor because Priscilla again plays the role of a bigger person by standing
up for herself and the other students who had been bullied by Monk and his Kobras. The way the
author described how Priscilla stood up to the bully resulted in the audience smiling and snickering. In

Aurora Shooting Response Paper
Susan Metzger Jun 29, 2013 Summary Response Suspect Bought Large Stockpile of Rounds Online
Rhetorical The article published in the New York Times July 22, 2012 by Jack Healy entitled Suspect
Bought Large Stockpile of Rounds online , addresses an absence of laws regulating the sale of
ammunition. Jack Healy is a rocky mountain correspondent for the New York Times, and has reported
on the war in Iraq from Baghdad. Healy s article elicits good emotional engagement with the reader,
but it is fundamentally lacking sound logical arguments and ethical credibility. Aurora shooting

Colorado. Holmes purchased bullet¬¬proof vests and a high ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The logos of the article is fundamentally flawed due to the lack of logically sound and accurate
conclusions. Finally the article loses its ethical integrity when the authors bias becomes apparent to
the reader. Healy s article contains bias for the regulation of ammunition sales, as well as confusing
terminology. The article contains contradictory and inaccurate facts, and quotes selected for emotional
impact rather than relevance and purpose. First I will address some of the logical contradictions in the
article. Healy said Unhindered by federal background checks or government oversight, the 24 year old
man... was able to build ... a 6,000 round arsenal legally and easily over the Internet, exploiting what
critics call a virtual absence of any laws regulating ammunition sales In this quote Healy leads the
reader to believe that there are no laws, and no regulation regarding ammunition sales. Later in the
article Healy admits there are laws restricting ammunition sales in Illinois, Massachusetts, and New
Jersey as well as cities like Los Angeles and Sacramento. Healy contradicts his earlier point by
highlighting the states that do have laws regarding the sales of ammunition. This contradiction leaves
the reader not knowing which conclusion is valid. The second flaw in the

Ancient Human Brain
Our brains today are capable of thinking, making decisions, learning, and creating new ideas and
inventions. However, 1.8 million years ago, our brains were not as capable nor were they as advanced
as our modern brain. Studies suggest that this increase of brain size was all due to an unexpected
factor that occurred almost 2 million years ago; this skill discovered by the homo erectus known today
as cooking. Humans also discovered how to propagate traits into crops, making them easier to collect
and consume. Millions of years ago, ancient humans developed new and more modern ways of
collecting and eating their food, which then led to the development of the brain and the better of the
human race. After, the raw food eating Australopithecus, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Analysis Of The Book Stalingrad The Fateful Siege...
Stalingrad: The Fateful Siege 1942 1943 is book written by the British military historian, Antony
Beevor. Stalingrad covers the Battle of Stalingrad during World War II. Stalingrad was a city in Russia
where Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union fought for control. This was part of Adolf Hitler s plan to
crush the Soviet Union and extend his Third Reich into Russian territory. The battle lasted from
August 1942 to February 1943. However, the battle ended up with the destruction of the entire
German 6th army and with a victory for the Soviet Union. Beevor has won three awards for this book.
I wish to give brief summaries of the five sections of the book and give reviews on their main content.
The book is broken into five sections. The first section tells the beginning of Operation Barbarossa.
This was the German codename for the invasion Russia. Although the Germans managed to capture
vast amounts of territory, the Soviet military was able to halt the German advance. To regain the
momentum, Hitler decides to proceed with the capture of Stalingrad. In addition to gaining access to
the fuel in the Caucasus Mountains from the capture of the city, Hitler would destroy the city that
bears the name of Soviet dictator, Joseph Stalin. Personally, this was the hardest section of the book to
get through. The majority of content from this section described events that were leading up to
Stalingrad. There were stories on how the higher ups of the German and Soviet governments
responded to

Ninhydrin Research Paper
Two of the most commonly used chemical enhancements for plain dry paper is Ninhydrin and 1,8
Diazafluoren 9 one (DFO) both of which can be used individually and together. When they are being
used together, DFO has to be carried out first. Both chemicals react with the amino acids in the latent
fingerprint.
To carry out DFO enhancement a lab oven must be set at 100°C with no humidity. The DFO is mixed
with methanol and acetic acid. The methanol is used as it allows DFO to form hemiketals which give a
higher reactivity with the amino acids in the print. Using longer chain alcohols doesn t give as high a
yield of fluoresces and development of the print. Acetic acid can be used to reduce the pH of the
solution making it acidic. If the solution ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is add to ensure the ninhydrin is soluble. Acetic acid and ethyl acetate are mixed with it to
produce a straw coloured solution. Ethyl acetate prevents esterification and moves equilibrium
towards acetic acid and ethanol, if esterification occurs the by product water will damage the ridges of
the print. Acetic acid is a catalyst which allows the formation of Ruhemann s purple. It has to be kept
at low concentrations as it could cause ink on the paper to run and therefore damage evidence.
To carry out Ninhydrin enhancement a humidity controlled oven must be set at 65% humidity and
80°c. The paper will either just be undergoing this process or just dried from DFO placed in the
ninhydrin solution for 5 seconds on either side and placed on a tray into the oven for 5 7 minutes. The
finger prints will develop producing a distinct purple colour known as Ruhemann s purple. When the
reaction is less intense a red/pink colour is produced. The finger prints are removed and pictures taken
of the paper containing the print with a scale and labelled. The prints can continue to develop for a
couple of weeks after initially being processed. Ninhydrin prints on their own can be further enhanced
using metal salts such as zinc chloride and cadmium salts. These fluoresces increasing the visibility
and detail of the print.

How Did X-Rays Change The World
Imagine a machine that made what was once invisible, visible. Wilhelm Roentgen discovered the X
ray in 1895. X rays impacted the field of medicine greatly. The discovery of X rays significantly
changed how we could see the human body, treatment options, and how we viewed X rays. Wilhelm
C. Roentgen was a German physicist. He was born on March 27, 1845, and died on February 10,
1923. He was married to, Anna Bertha Ludwig. He received education from the University of Zurich,
the Institute of Martinus Herman van Doorn, ETH Zurich and the University of Strasbourg. He

changed the world of medicine. Looking inside a human body using X rays made diagnosing and

such as skin and organs, cannot absorb the high energy rays, and the beam passes through them. Dense
materials inside our bodies, like bones, absorb the radiation. (Wonderopolis.org). This is why we are
able to see bones and other things inside our bodies. Black areas on an x ray which is flesh and soft
tissue show where the X rays passed through. White areas on x rays show where denser tissues like
bones have absorbed the X rays. (RadiologyInfo.org). The white areas that show up on the X rays are
what allows the doctors to see the inside of the body. The doctors view the body because of how the
radiation reacts with the differences in density of organs, flesh, bones,

that our mom was in the hospital. On my way to the hospital i wasn t really worried because my mom

brothers face, he didn t look happy. And i knew something bad was going on. The doctor told my
brother that my mom could have some kind of virus in her stomach . But what we didn t know was
that it wasn t a virus, it was something worse. The doctor came in the room with a worried face, he
wanted to talk to us in private outside the room. We went outside the doctor told us that they found
that our mom had cancer in her stomach. The doctor told us that they found it so early that with
enough treatment she could get cured in about 6 months. But that was the good part, the bad part is
that the medicines were too expensive. The job i had right now, working as a youtuber didn t produce
enough money to pay the medicines, and the worst part was that my brother didn t have money right
now because he was building a house. Was desperate for a job that gave me a good amount of money.

Essay On The Cave
In Plato, Republic, Book VII, the core of the book revolves around justice and its implications from
both an individual and collective perspective. Plato does not have Socrates argue that justice requires
getting everyone out of the cave because in actuality, there are two parts to justice and the cave: the
truth and the false. According to Plato, people often live in illusion. Illusions appeal to sensible people
and their senses, whereas reality does not function with reason alone, it includes a combination of
ideas and the truth (Plato 405). Therefore, the need to have everyone leave the cave is not present
because each individual is there for a different reason which may not call for leaving the cave.

Comparison Of Hamilton And Kurt Vonnegut s Slaughterhouse...
Lin Manuel Miranda s musical Hamilton and Kurt Vonnegut s book Slaughterhouse Five were written
almost fifty years of each other. Furthermore, the time periods they were set in were quite different
when it came to equality for women. Still, both Eliza and Valencia live within the same social
contexts; they are women of the upper class in America. Although, their values and performances were
remarkably diverse. While Valencia surrendered to the domestic realm during her lifetime, Eliza used
her potential for a greater good prior to Hamilton s passing. Also, Eliza had personality, whereas
Valencia was made out to be monotonous. These differences, however, can be traced back to the
authors of these pieces. How is it that a musical set to be placed when our country was discovered was

Best Car Seat
How to Buy the Best Car Seat for your Child
One summer in 2016, in Tacoma, Washington, a woman was taking her 5 year old son to school,
coming along for the ride was her 2 year old son. While driving the mother lost control of her car and
swerved into a tree. The car was totaled and the side where her 2 year old was sitting was completely
caved in. Yet amazingly, no one was hurt, and the kids were fine. The 2 year old was saved by their car
seat, which absorbed all the impact of the crash. Had that car seat not been properly installed, the
family would have lost more than a car. The sad thing is scenarios like this happen every day, car
crashes are a reality of life, and sometimes they are your fault, sometimes the fault of the other driver.

The different types of car seat
Infant Car Seats
These are the first types of car seat you will buy for your child. They are designed to work with
newborns who weigh above 4 or 5 pounds, and will work until the baby reaches around 20 pounds.
These will be rear facing car seats.
Convertible Car Seats
These seats are designed to adopt as the child gets older. They start off working for infants (5 pounds
to 20 pounds) and then can be converted into forward facing car seats for toddlers (so basically
anywhere from 30 to 40 pounds).
Booster Seats
Booster seats are the last stage of car seat you will need to buy, they are meant for children in the 40
pound to 100 pound range. Most children can stop using booster seats around 8 years old. Taller
children can stop a bit earlier, around 6 or 7 years old.

These car seats essentially act as 3 in 1 car seat. They can be used as a rear facing car seat for infants,
a forwards facing seat for older kids, and then finally they act as a booster

Reflective Essay On A Council Meeting
On Monday, November 20th 2017, I attended the City of Atlanta s council meeting while visiting my
friend for the holidays. I have had no experience with any kind of government event outside of student
government, so I personally had no idea what to expect. Driving around in Atlanta was confusing
enough, but we were kindly shown where to go to sit in on the meeting.
The meeting took a while to begin, but it began with role being taken of the council members. The
room itself was large, with a wall of desks in front of the main seating area. After role had been called
the meeting was opened by discussing the recent celebration of Veteran s Day, and the council felt the
need to thank all the active veterans in the community. This was very important to the council and
they said a few words about veterans who had passed that had very positive roles in the community.
The Council then brought up the murder of a 29 year old women over the previous weekend. Prayers
were extended to her family and loved ones out of respect. It was stated that the city is doing
everything that they possibly can to bring justice to the family and apprehend the killer. The third
person to be recognized was a major supporter of the Atlanta community, who was a dear friend to
many of the council members. We then observed a moment of silence for all those previously
mentioned.
At this point in the meeting nothing was very surprising to me, it was just like any other meeting I
have attended. I was used to

The Biofuel Industry
Biofuels have been used as a source of energy for thousands of years. Wood was the first biofuel to be
used as a means to create fires for cooking. Since that time we have discovered numerous ways to use
them and the various forms of biofuels that are available for use. Presently our use of biofuels consists
largely of additives to gasoline in the form of ethanol. Ethanol is found in almost all of our gasoline
products today, in which about 10% is typically mixed as an additive. Some gas stations are now
offering nearly pure ethanol fuel known as E85 which is 85% ethanol. This makes ethanol the most
common biofuel used worldwide. In response to this, farmers around the world have increased biofuel
plant production as a means to meet the new growing demand for it. As time goes on, more modern
farming practices are expected to continue to increase the output at which farmers can grow corn and
other ethanol producing plants thereby fueling the biofuel gas industry. With more resources available
to use, ethanol will be an even cheaper additive than it is now.
Biofuels as a whole are made up of a large variety of organisms or their byproducts, leaving a multiple
of sources to choose from. This is what makes biofuel energy an attractive source of fuel for the
future. One company named Algenol is leading the world in algae research development that they
claim will revolutionize the biofuel industry completely. They are working on having algae produce
ethanol directly

Should Athletes Be Mandatory For College Athletes
In professional basketball and football, it is very fun to see young, flashy, and new star athletes to
seemingly come out of nowhere. Athletes such as Kobe Bryant and Lebron James jumped straight
from high school, went to play professional basketball, and did very well. This seems like a great idea,
but also considering the athlete as a person is important. What happens if he does not perform well?
He could lose out on a lot of money and could be in big trouble if he did not go to college. Athletes
want to become professionals as soon as possible, but they also could consider getting a degree. The
issue of making college a requirement for professional football and basketball athletes is one that
makes many people wonder if athletes should actually ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First of all, it is very tough to make the pros. Only two percent of college basketball players get
drafted, so a degree would help a student athlete find a job after they have played ball (Vogel). For
example, in Division 1 Men s Basketball, 76 percent of players think that they could go pro while only
1.2 percent actually do (New). Also, in Division 1 Football, 52 percent of players think that they could
turn pro while only 1.6 percent actually do (New). Odds are, you will be of the 98 percent of college
athletes that do not go pro. An NCAA [National Collegiate Athletic Association] television ad and
poster campaign does advertise that there are 400,000 NCAA student athletes, and almost all of them
will go pro in something other than sports, although athletes do not always absorb this message
(New). If you had to generalize, you could easily say no one goes pro, he [Ramogi Huma] said, That s
how slim the chances are (New). The fact of how hard it is to play your sport for a living is one that
should convince athletes to get a college degree, because odds are that they are not of the 1.5 percent
of football or basketball athletes that actually go to the

Unisa Building Construction
The UniSA s School of Law is a heritage building with important historical value. It was built in 1940
41 for the administrative headquarters of the South Australian Brewing Company. In 1956, extensions
were added to the original building. The Georgian style of the building, was designed by the architect
F Kenneth Milne, who chose clay brick masonry as the material for the structure (Adelaide City
Heritage 2015). Through the years, the building has been exposed to an earthquake in 1954
(Sinadinovski, Greenhalgh Love 2006), wind loads, humidity, temperature variations, internal loads
and other forces. All these factors have an impact on the structure and it has led the building to several
small structural damages. The aim of this paper is to research and study the structural behavior of clay
brick masonry and analyse the damages on the UniSA Law building. This will lead to an
understanding of what factors led to the failures and propose an approach of how it can be fixed. 2.

Wind, rain and small quakes that Adelaide has experienced since being built has had an effect on the
building. The wind and rain has caused wear and tear over long periods of time with rain seeping into
the brickwork. Earthquakes have also affected the Law building even though they have rarely
occurred in Adelaide. These effects on the building depend on the magnitude of the earthquake. The
biggest earthquake that the building has experienced happened in 1954 which was recorded to be 5.6
on the Richter scale. This had an effect on all parts of the building, both internal and external. These
were from the foundations of the building to the roof, damaging the materials used in the construction

Alienation In Ousmane Sembene s Black Girl
Written and directed by Ousmane Sembene, a novelist turned filmmaker, Black Girl tells the story of a
young African woman named Diouana who leaves her home in Senegal with her French employer,
hopeful the work and opportunities offered by France will lead her to an improved life. What begins as
an optimistic journey soon reveals itself a grand disappointment as Diouana realises her role as the
children s caretaker has morphed into that of a maid and France reveals itself to be a prison rather than
a liberation. Between cooking, cleaning, taking care of the children and enduring constant disrespect
from her employer and their friends, Diouana s hopeful nature is dulled as she starts feeling the weight
of her isolation and alienation. Through the use of his carefully chosen and curated settings, Sembene
comments on the questions of postcolonial identity and displacement, offering to his audience
Diouana s journey as an example of the inner turmoil of defining African identity while still under the
influence of colonialism. Sembene uses settings, and the contrast between his settings, to emphasises
the process of alienation Diouana goes through during the film. She is trying to pinpoint her place in
the world and, by leaving her country, finds herself cultureless and restrained. It is evident in the
contrast between the scenes taking place in France and the flashbacks in Dakar that by moving to
France, Diouana loses a part of herself. Almost every scene set in France takes

Discussion of the Settings in the Great Gatsby by F. Scott...
A Discussion of the Three Major Setting in The Great Gatsby
Setting is an integral part of a novelist s or playwright s ability to communicate characters ideals and
attitudes. One of the greatest American authors, Francis Scott Fitzgerald also employs these essential
strategies when describing the three main setting of The Great Gatsby: West Egg, East Egg, and the
Valley of the Ashes. Fitzgerald relates West Egg with the less fashionable side of Long Island and new
money , relates East Egg to the fashionable side of Long Island and old money , and relates the Valley
of Ashes to a desolate wasteland that represents the crumbling of the American Dream and the
destruction caused by modern society. West Egg promotes ideals of individuality and illegality and
creates an atmosphere of lavish spending; however, East Egg gives rise to ideals of upper class society
fueling attitudes of condescension towards lower classes of people including West Egg, while the
Valley of Ashes is the manifestation of the desolate wasteland surrounding a city that represents the
withering of the American Dream.
In The Great Gatsby, the first setting we are introduced to is West Egg. West Egg is described in the
book as a place where the lower and middle class who have found themselves outrageous amounts of
money reside. As an immediate consequence to this, they spend lavishly on extravagant desires of
theirs. This is exemplified when Fitzgerald writes, From West Egg came the Poles and the

The Common Cold
The common cold has been plaguing humankind since the beginning of human existence. Even in
these advanced times, there is no vaccine or cure.
There are many symptoms that accompany the common cold. Some of these infamous symptoms are a
runny nose, caused by inflammation of the nasal tissues, resulting in over production of mucus to trap
the virus, and coughing. there are two different kinds or types of coughs that are common with colds.
The first, is the less common dry hacking cough, these kinds are more likely to keep you up at night
and just plainly annoy you than do any thing else. The other more common type of cough is the kind
whose purpose is to expel mucus and or phlegm. These help to combat the cold by helping to expel
the mucus ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This same article said that kissing doesn t necessarily spread the cold virus (1 2). Laurie Tarkan says
that the main way that the cold virus is spread is through touching of the nose and mouth, like the
Mayo
Clinic Letter. She also stated that the reason that colds seam to flourish in the winter is that people
tend to group together in schools and in homes, therefor spreading the virus throughout the population.
Also more people tend to fly durring the winter. In order to keep the cabin pressurized, the airplane
circulates the air, and that means that if one person has a cold and coughs then the whole plane will
have a great chance to become infected. Also at higher altitudes, the air seriously dries out the nasal
membrane in the nose and therefore make a person more susceptible to the virus. Because of this,
experts like Laurie Tarkan suggest to drink allot of water while flying in an airplane, about eight
ounces for every hour that you are on the airplane (202, The Common Cold
2). There is only one possible way to stay totally healthy during the winter. That is to be locked in a
room underground and not see anyone until the cold season is over. Fortunately there are a few
guidelines that you can follow to help your chances of staying well this winter. One is to wash your
hands often, not compulsively but often, and also try to stay away from people who have really bad
colds. If someone in your house or workplace gets or has a cold,

Why Students Should Start Later In School
There are multiple reasons why schools start way too early in the morning. Some reasons are
exhausted students, more time to get ready for teachers and students, etc. These reasons support what
y schools should start later in the day. Waking up early is a challenge for some students. This is mainly
because of huge workloads and getting ready for the school day ahead of them. Students need to rest
or they will not have any good grades in school. This is the same thing for teachers. They have to
grade hundreds of student s tests. That would take a lot of time and make them tired for the school day
ahead of them. If school started earlier than students and teachers would have time to rest more and be
energized for the school day leading to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They have to get up at ridiculous times to get to school and setup. The teachers would most likely be
exhausted and would not be efficient during the school day. This would lead to bad lessons and bad
grades. If the school day started later in the day then the teachers would have more time to set up and
come up with better lessons. This would lead to good attitude and be energized. Students usually never
have enough time to finish their daily routine. They have to get up early and go through their whole
routine. After they go through their routine they eat breakfast and they are ready to go. Unfortunately,
that is not how it happens usually happens. Students sometimes do not get to eat their breakfast. This
will result in drowsiness during class and inefficiency. If the school day started later in the day then
students would have more time to get their routine finished and eat breakfast. Also, they might have
enough time to finish assignments. Parents are also affected by this because they have to make lunches
and drive the kids to school. Parents need to wake up early and need to drop their kids off at school.
This can be a huge disadvantage if the parents if they need to wake up early and go to work in the
morning. If the school day was longer the parents would have more time to get their kids ready for
school. Also, they can be energized as well as the

The Communist Manifesto Essay
The Communist Manifesto Karl Marx is living in a world he is not happy with, and seems to think that
he has the perfect solution. I am a strong believer in his ideas. We are living in a time period with a
huge class struggle. The Bourgroise exploits and the proletariat are being exploited. Marx did not like
the way this society was and searched for a solution. Marx looked for universal laws of human
behavior that would explain and predict the future course of events (36). He saw an unavoidable
growth and change in society, coming not from the difference in opinions, but in the huge difference
of opposing classes. He speaks of his ideal society and how he is going to bring about this utopia in
his book The Communist ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When a child is born, he or she is born into the society as a whole. Another aspect that changed is the
political system. The state will have withered away. There will be no government. The rules ad
regulations that once existed will no longer be in effect because there will be no body there to enforce
them. Someone could commit a crime and not get any penalty since there is not one person that has
the authority to convict them. They will be sort of unwritten rules, since they are all expected to share,
they would not want to hurt another. There will be no problems since everyone is equal and has equal
things. This way we will live in a orderly society. No higher group of people will be needed to keep
order since everyone is equal and trusted to work together. Also, intellectually things will change due
to the fact that everyone is working together to create a better society. People will do things for each
other not just themselves alone. Everyone will come together and share ideas and contribute their own
part in hopes of putting together something better. Religion will also be abolished in this communist
society. In every religion that is considered to be the prime being . In the communist society where
everyone is equal, there is no prime being since that would mean that those individuals would be
better than everyone else. Still, just because religion is gone, that does not mean that all morality will
be gone

Understand The Relationship Between Assistive Technology...
Understanding the Relationship between Assistive Technology and Universal Design?
To better understand the difference and relationship between assistive technology (AT) and Universal
Design (UD) we must first understand their definition.
Assistive technology in the digital age goes beyond eyeglasses, canes and wheelchairs. The more high
tech kind includes newer technologies that made a particularly dramatic impact on education.
The following are good examples of AT designed for a specific set of individuals:
For people with physical disabilities, there are alternative keyboards and electronic mobility switches
For individuals with visual impairment, there are text to speech readers and computer screen enlargers
For those with hearing disabilities, there are signing avatars and electronic sign language dictionaries
For people with learning disabilities there are spell checkers and calculators
With the availability of this computer based ATs, overcoming barriers to educational access, progress
and participation is made easier.
Universal Design for Learning (UDL), on the other hand, is relatively new to education and learning.
This is why there s a lack of differentiation and clarity regarding its role in education, and how it
addresses individual differences and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because the resources are predominantly text based and the assessment requires lots of writing,
students with visual disabilities would struggle to complete the course. Looking at the situation on an
AT perspective, the problem can be considered an individual concern. But, on a UDL perspective, the
problem is perceived as relative to the environment. If the curriculum is delivered through digitally,
universally designed media, students will have access to a flexible curriculum. Digital text for students
with dyslexia. Digital videos or images, complete with descriptions and captions, for students with
language based disabilities and are

The Controversy Of Online Gambling
Contrary to what some people think, online gambling is not that bad. In a controlled environment,
gambling can actually be healthy. When most people hear the word Gambling , they think of some
scary people in a dark alley slanging some dice and drinking booze. Some think of Foxwoods s
multiple casinos, but that s not the type of gambling i m talking about.
The gambling I am talking about is virtual or Online gambling, and In some cases illegal gambling of
non tangible items or goods. Non tangible items, you ask? Virtual items. Some of the most gambled
non tangible items include weapon skins, character skins, chests that contain random skins, player
accounts, and keys to open chests. I myself used to trade items in a videogame called ... Show more

A youtuber who goes by the name of TmarTn and has over 5 million subscribers across all of his two
channels. Some months ago he made a video on his second channel mentioning that he discovered a
new betting site. It is clear from his tone that he is trying to appear as though he does not own the
underaged gambling site. He talks about how enthralled he was when he won a $69 skin with their
services. He goes on to say that he was offered the opportunity to be sponsored by the site,
csgolotto.com. He mentions that he would want to make more gambling videos if he did not have to
risk his own skins. At this point TmarTn claims no ownership of the website. As it was a underage
gambling site, and the most popular site at the time, it was quickly shut down by the government and
on behalf of valve, the manufacturer of the desktop application steam which the game cs:go was on.
Valve made it clear that they did not endorse underage gambling. The owners of the website released a
business contract to the government as required, and on the bottom of the contract was signed TmarTn
and another youtuber with 9 million subscriber s named Syndicate. Might I add, Syndicate pulled the
same story as TmarTn, endorsing the website and claiming to have no affiliation with the website.
They were in turn, both sued by valve, which is a company you do not want to mess with by the way.
Both of them also got permanently banned from cs:go. Might I add

Margaret Atwood
Happy Ending by Margaret Atwood is a truly unique story. This story is unique not because of the
dialog, but because of the multiple endings that are within the story. The story follows the life of John
and Mary. It is up to the reader to decide the life that John and Mary live. The reader can determine
whether or not John and Mary have a happy life together or a complicated life together. However, no
madder what choice the reader may chose, the story always ends the same way. Each of the endings
results in death. In story A John and Mary fall in love. They both have a happy career in which they
find it both challenging and stimulating. However, story B is quite the opposite. Mary is very much in

It is true that both John and Mary fall in love and enter symbiotic relationship. However, just because
the reader gets a cookie cutter happy ending that doesn t necessarily mean that it is the best ending.
For instance, story A, the happy ending, is very short compared to the other stories. It dose not give
the reader enough time to form a connection to the characters before they die. While on the other
hand, story B, the sadder ending, is much longer and gives the reader a connection to the character
Mary.
Story B is the sadder ending and focuses more on Mary. The relationship between Mary and John is
far from happy. Mary does absolutely everything for John. Mary cooks, cleans, and even lets john
have his way with her. John doesn t even acknowledge all the sacrifice that Mary puts into their
relationship. Not only dose John show no affection towards Mary, He gives it all his affection to
another woman he sees behind Mary s back. The drama of the whole situation is too much to bear for
Mary. Mary devises a plan to overdose on all of her household medicine and have John take her to the
hospital. Sadly John doesn t even care enough to take her to the hospital. Margaret Atwood did a
fantastic job on making a fiction story with fiction characters seem like an actual

Later in the article Healy admits there are laws restricting ammunition sales in Illinois, Massachusetts, and New Jersey as well as cities like Los Angeles and Sacramento. Healy contradicts his earlier point by highlighting the states that do have laws regarding the sales of ammunition. This contradiction leaves the reader not knowing which conclusion is valid. Stalingrad covers the Battle of Stalingrad during World War II. Stalingrad was a city in Russia where Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union fought for control. This was part of Adolf Hitler s plan to crush the Soviet Union and extend his Third Reich into Russian territory. The battle lasted from August 1942 to February 1943. However, the battle ended up with the destruction of the entire German 6th army and with a victory for the Soviet Union. Beevor has won three awards for this book. I wish to give brief summaries of the five sections of the book and give reviews on their main content. The book is broken into five sections. The first section tells the beginning of Operation Barbarossa. This was the German codename for the invasion Russia. Although the Germans managed to capture vast amounts of territory, the Soviet military was able to halt the German advance. To regain the momentum, Hitler decides to proceed with the capture of Stalingrad. In addition to gaining access to the fuel in the Caucasus Mountains from the capture of the city, Hitler would destroy the city that bears the name of Soviet dictator, Joseph Stalin. Personally, this was the hardest section of the book to get through. The majority of content from this section described events that were leading up to Stalingrad. When they are being used together, DFO has to be carried out first. Both chemicals react with the amino acids in the latent fingerprint. To carry out DFO enhancement a lab oven must be set at 100°C with no humidity. The DFO is mixed with methanol and acetic acid. Ethyl acetate prevents esterification and moves equilibrium towards acetic acid and ethanol, if esterification occurs the by product water will damage the ridges of the print. Acetic acid is a catalyst which allows the formation of Ruhemann s purple. It has to be kept at low concentrations as it could cause ink on the paper to run and therefore damage evidence. To carry out Ninhydrin enhancement a humidity controlled oven must be set at 65% humidity and 80°c. The paper will either just be undergoing this process or just dried from DFO placed in the ninhydrin solution for 5 seconds on either side and placed on a tray into the oven for 5 7 minutes. The finger prints will develop producing a distinct purple colour known as Ruhemann s purple. When the reaction is less intense a red/pink colour is produced. The finger prints are removed and pictures taken of the paper containing the print with a scale and labelled. The prints can continue to develop for a couple of weeks after initially being processed. Ninhydrin prints on their own can be further enhanced using metal salts such as zinc chloride and cadmium salts. These fluoresces increasing the visibility and detail of the print. ... According to Plato, people often live in illusion. Illusions appeal to sensible people and their senses, whereas reality does not function with reason alone, it includes a combination of ideas and the truth (Plato 405). I have had no experience with any kind of government event outside of student government, so I personally had no idea what to expect. Driving around in Atlanta was confusing enough, but we were kindly shown where to go to sit in on the meeting. The meeting took a while to begin, but it began with role being taken of the council members. The room itself was large, with a wall of desks in front of the main seating area. After role had been called the meeting was opened by discussing the recent celebration of Veteran s Day, and the council felt the need to thank all the active veterans in the community. This was very important to the council and they said a few words about veterans who had passed that had very positive roles in the community. The Council then brought up the murder of a 29 year old women over the previous weekend. Prayers were extended to her family and loved ones out of respect. It was stated that the city is doing everything that they possibly can to bring justice to the family and apprehend the killer. The third person to be recognized was a major supporter of the Atlanta community, who was a dear friend to many of the council members. We then observed a moment of silence for all those previously mentioned. At this point in the meeting nothing was very surprising to me, it was just like any other meeting I have attended. • 23. The Biofuel Industry Biofuels have been used as a source of energy for thousands of years. Wood was the first biofuel to be used as a means to create fires for cooking. Since that time we have discovered numerous ways to use them and the various forms of biofuels that are available for use. Presently our use of biofuels consists largely of additives to gasoline in the form of ethanol. Ethanol is found in almost all of our gasoline products today, in which about 10% is typically mixed as an additive. Some gas stations are now offering nearly pure ethanol fuel known as E85 which is 85% ethanol. This makes ethanol the most common biofuel used worldwide. In response to this, farmers around the world have increased biofuel plant production as a means to meet the new growing demand for it. As time goes on, more modern farming practices are expected to continue to increase the output at which farmers can grow corn and other ethanol producing plants thereby fueling the biofuel gas industry. With more resources available to use, ethanol will be an even cheaper additive than it is now. Biofuels as a whole are made up of a large variety of organisms or their byproducts, leaving a multiple of sources to choose from. This is what makes biofuel energy an attractive source of fuel for the future. One company named Algenol is leading the world in algae research development that they claim will revolutionize the biofuel industry completely. • 26. Alienation In Ousmane Sembene s Black Girl Written and directed by Ousmane Sembene, a novelist turned filmmaker, Black Girl tells the story of a young African woman named Diouana who leaves her home in Senegal with her French employer, hopeful the work and opportunities offered by France will lead her to an improved life. What begins as an optimistic journey soon reveals itself a grand disappointment as Diouana realises her role as the children s caretaker has morphed into that of a maid and France reveals itself to be a prison rather than a liberation. Between cooking, cleaning, taking care of the children and enduring constant disrespect from her employer and their friends, Diouana s hopeful nature is dulled as she starts feeling the weight of her isolation and alienation. Through the use of his carefully chosen and curated settings, Sembene comments on the questions of postcolonial identity and displacement, offering to his audience Diouana s journey as an example of the inner turmoil of defining African identity while still under the influence of colonialism. Sembene uses settings, and the contrast between his settings, to emphasises the process of alienation Diouana goes through during the film. She is trying to pinpoint her place in the world and, by leaving her country, finds herself cultureless and restrained. It is evident in the contrast between the scenes taking place in France and the flashbacks in Dakar that by moving to France, Diouana loses a part of herself. • 27. Discussion of the Settings in the Great Gatsby by F. Scott... A Discussion of the Three Major Setting in The Great Gatsby Setting is an integral part of a novelist s or playwright s ability to communicate characters ideals and attitudes. One of the greatest American authors, Francis Scott Fitzgerald also employs these essential strategies when describing the three main setting of The Great Gatsby: West Egg, East Egg, and the Valley of the Ashes. Fitzgerald relates West Egg with the less fashionable side of Long Island and new money , relates East Egg to the fashionable side of Long Island and old money , and relates the Valley of Ashes to a desolate wasteland that represents the crumbling of the American Dream and the destruction caused by modern society. West Egg promotes ideals of individuality and illegality and creates an atmosphere of lavish spending; however, East Egg gives rise to ideals of upper class society fueling attitudes of condescension towards lower classes of people including West Egg, while the Valley of Ashes is the manifestation of the desolate wasteland surrounding a city that represents the withering of the American Dream. In The Great Gatsby, the first setting we are introduced to is West Egg. West Egg is described in the book as a place where the lower and middle class who have found themselves outrageous amounts of money reside. As an immediate consequence to this, they spend lavishly on extravagant desires of theirs. This is exemplified when Fitzgerald writes, From West Egg came the Poles and the ... Also more people tend to fly durring the winter. In order to keep the cabin pressurized, the airplane circulates the air, and that means that if one person has a cold and coughs then the whole plane will have a great chance to become infected. Also at higher altitudes, the air seriously dries out the nasal membrane in the nose and therefore make a person more susceptible to the virus.
