Veterans To Retire
Best Cities in Texas for Veterans to Retire from Service Being a part of the military is not a permanent
situation. At some point, the active military life will come to an end and soldiers will be thrust back
into civilian life. With Veteran s Day right around the corner, it s only fair to take a look at the great
cities in Texas where Veterans can have an excellent civilian life after serving our country proudly.
Houston According to a study conducted by the USAA, the best city in Texas for Veterans to return to

President John F. Kennedy announced the plan of launching a man in space to land on the Moon. He
used this as a tool to subtly announce the US s superiority of the Cold War enemies. It took 11 years to
carry out. It took $25.4 billion dollars to achieve. This withstood challenges including lives of Roger

Family Capitalism And The 19th Century
Family capitalism is regarded to firms that are operated by family and its family member, although it
is also known as perpetuation of family capitalism, which means long live and long lasting, they
usually could not be passed on by more than one generation (Jones and Rose, 1993). Since the early
20th Century, among the world, Europe had a concentration of the largest ten and twenty companies in
countries that are under family control. For instance in France at the beginning of the 21st Century,
only 15 families had controlled 33.8% of the total market value of listed corporate assets; and in
Germany, family firms hold 17 of the largest hundred companies. However on the other hand, there
was only 6.6% of market value that were hold by family firms in the United Kingdom (James, 2008).
The aim of this essay is to explain whether Cadbury was a typical family capitalism in the 19th
Century. I will argue that Cadbury was not a typical family capitalism as they held the Quaker beliefs
that made them different from other family firms; they also had a different organisation structure and
management style; and they lasted longer than the other family firms at that time. This essay is
structure as follows; first, I will explain the Quaker belief and how it made Cadbury different from
other family firms; then I will examine Cadbury s organisation structure and management style; and
finally, I will look at the durability of Cadbury and compare it with another family firm.

How Does Capote Describe The Town Holcomb
Although, Capote writes about a monumental murder he focuses in on how graceful Holcomb is
before the murder; therefore, Capote verbalizes even if a town is safe it can be threatening anywhere.
Capote uses literary devices such as anaphora to describe the town Holcomb to give readers a
comprehension on how Holcomb acted before the chaos began. In the beginning of the book Capote
reports Holcomb town as, Like the waters of the river, like the motorists on the highway, and like the
yellow streaking down the Santa Fe tracks, drama, in the shape of exceptional happenings, has never
stopped there (Capote 5). Life in Holcomb was as if the town had its own little world and nothing
from the outside mattered. Holcomb was just a small, quiet town in the middle of nowhere. Capote
wants people to know how separated Holcomb town was and how one big murder could matter so
much. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Capote states, The land is flat, and the views are awesomely extensive; horses, herds of cattle, a white
cluster of grain elevators rising as gracefully as Greek temples are visible long before a traveler
reaches them (Capote 3). Truman Capote is referring back to the Greek temples a time period where
there was big difficulties, which led the Greeks to a downfall. Capote first mentions how graceful the
Greeks are to let the readers know it was very peaceful there before chaos. By comparing Holcomb
town to the Greek civilization Capote lets his readers know something is coming, it will go from
peaceful to dangerous. From the look of Holcomb it seems as though it is safe, but once entered into

With these synchronous illnesses, one exacerbates the other; excelling the growth and projection of

Ventilator Associated Pneumonia Essay
This paper will discuss the prevention of ventilator associated pneumonia utilizing the ventilator
associated pneumonia care bundle and the impact it has on clinical practice. Topics that will also be
discussed include potential barriers that may arise during the implementation of the bundle strategies,
how they can be overcome and finally educational strategies for families.
According to Safer healthcare now (2012), Ventilator associated pneumonia (VAP) is defined as a
pneumonia occurring in patients requiring a device intermittently or continuously to assist respiration
through a tracheostomy or endotracheal tube p11.The development of VAP has many potential causes

Research has shown that leading factor in the development of VAP is aspiration of oropharyngeal,
nasopharyngeal secretions and stomach content that contains pathogenic bacteria (Klompas, 2010). A
review completed Sedwick, Smith, Reeder Nardi studying the effects of HOB elevation, demonstrated
a direct correlation between back rest elevation of 30 and the incidence of aspiration. Furthermore,
clinical trials established that there was a substantial decrease in the development of aspiration and
subsequent pneumonia when patients were placed in a semi recumbent position (2012). Elevation of
the head of the bed is not without its potential complications. The greatest concerning complication is
related to impaired skin integrity, specifically the development of decubitus ulcers. Nursing staff must
be vigilant frequent skin assessment and patient repositioning to ensure that skin integrity is not
compromised. Educating families of the importance of HOB elevation is also critical, as patients may
potentially be very uncomfortable and desire to have the HOB lowered. Utilization of head of the bed
alarms, signs and intervention documentation will provide as a continual reminder to ensure nurses are
compliant in adhering to this aspect of the care

Nihilism in Crime and Punishment Essay
Themes of Nihilism in Crime and Punishment Nihilism is one of the most difficult philosophies to
accurately define because of its ambiguous nature. In its simplest form, one might consider it an
extremely pessimistic form of skepticism in which the individual discounts even the idea of existence.
Therefore, to a nihilist, all values, relationships, authority, beliefs, and emotions are baseless and
empty. First popularized in Ivan Turgenev s Fathers and Sons in 1862, nihilism is associated with a
revolutionary movement that occurred in Russia from 1814 to 1876. The principles of nihilism often
can be linked with those of utilitarianism, existentialism, and anarchism. Dostoevsky demonstrates his
aversion to this philosophy through ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Throughout the story we are shown that he is not above the emotions and guilt that are the basic
human reactions to an action as extreme as murder. His downfall comes because of this very fact, as
he mentally and physically deteriorates under the stress of his culpability. His arrogance is proven to
be the unfounded and foolhardy ideas of one who is truly a deeply insecure and unstable person
(though Raskolnikov never truly realizes this).
Through Raskolnikov s exemplification of the impracticality of this principle, Dostoevsky makes his
greatest point in Crime and Punishment. His commentary on the subject seeks to discredit the theory
in the circumstance of an individual superman by displaying Raskolnikov as a character who is
difficult for readers to identify with because of his inanity. Even Raskolnikov s name is a symbol of
nihilistic ideas, the word raskol meaning schism in Russian, illustrating the shift from an older school
of thought (social utopianism) to a darker philosophy: nihilism and utilitarianism. Raskolnikov seems
to fluctuate back and forth between the two philosophies, acting on one and then mentally chastising
himself for it, immediately and almost erratically changing his mind. This symbolizes the more human
side of him struggling

On January 7th, 2017, I visited the local New Chinatown in the Central Los Angeles County. Coming
from San Jose, California, this was my first opportunity to explore a part of Los Angeles besides my
current residence (Westwood), and to view how interracial dynamics play into real world context.
According to their website, New Chinatown had a grand opening in 1938, after the relocation of the
old Chinatown, and is well known for being the first modern American Chinatown; yet, New
Chinatown still retains part of its old identity and culture, which serves as a tourist attraction and

The plaza was had a decent amount of people participating in leisurely activities. I observed the
diversity within the plaza families ranged from Latinos and Whites, to Asians and Middle Easterners;
such a variety of people repudiated my initial presumptions about the type of people in this plaza,
which, I naively assumed to be predominately Asian. Because we were hungry, my partner and I
decided to attend a local restaurant Vietnamese called Blossom. I ordered an authentic pho soup, and
took notice to the types of people within the restaurant, which was similar to the distribution of
diversity I had earlier seen when I entered the plaza. Our waiter was a young Asian male who spoke
broken English. Overall, Blossom had an industrial look and feel, which clashed my initial
presumptions of what I was expecting in terms of race distribution and restaurant design. After lunch,
my partner and continued our ethnographic observation and explored the rest of the plaza. The
buildings and shops were well kept and professional, but the years had made the streets look shabby
and divided the economic status of the square. I took note of the types of businesses I saw, of which
included: a retail store with Chinese souvenirs, a porcelain store, bakeries, deli s, and a Mahjong
gambling center. The plaza wasn t exclusive to a single predominant race, but inclusive to people from

_It caused by:
+The nature of changes in the structure of the economy (structural unemployment includes seasonal
unemployment)
+ People leave a job to find a new one (frictional unemployment)
+The level of demand in the economy is not sufficient to sustain full employment (cyclical
unemployment) (Hansen, 2008).

Emily Grierson Illness
William Faulkner s A Rose for Emily In William Faulkner s, A Rose for Emily, Miss Emily Grierson
lives a tragic secluded life, isolate from the world, in her house. However, upon further inspection, it
appears that she has a psychological disorder which affects her relationships with her family and the
community preventing her from making a true, healthy connection with the outside world. Her illness
is present in all aspects of communication within the community and even within herself. It is
perpetuated by the refusal of the community to talk about it and the help she receives from authorities
to cloak the symptoms altogether.

The World War I, The Australian Home Front
During World War I, the Australian home front was impacted by a long and varying list of occurrences
during the period of time between the years of 1914 to 1918. The home front was influenced
politically through the arguments over the conscription vote and as Australia became divided between
the different war beliefs. It was also influenced by social change, as the use of censorship drastically
altered the Australians views of war and women began to pick up odd jobs in order to assist the
soldiers as very few of them were allowed to directly help as nurses in Gallipoli. There were also
extreme economic alterations as the wages in Australia were pushed down and prices were pushed up,
and the country discarded major trade partners who had become their enemy.
***
The Australian home front during WWI was drastically altered politically through the conscription
vote that Billy Hughes, Prime Minister of Australia, believed necessary. 50,000 Australian men had
signed up for the war before the year of 1914 had come to an end which was a rate of over 10,000 per
month but the enlistment numbers dropped way down to 6,000 for the month of the Gallipoli landing
in 1915. Once again, however, the numbers rose sharply on the home front after the news of the
landing came back home, as many wished to avenge their fallen countrymen, and nobody could
question the solemnity of the conflict. With five whole divisions overseas, Australia had to stay
committed to their recruitment for the

Basketball In The 1930 s
Basketball was first introduced in the late 1800 s. As the game evolved so did the developments of the
game as well. Some of the things that were developing were the rules of the game. These rules
included the basic rules that we see today such as traveling, double dribble, personal fouls and
technical fouls. Other things that were developing were players learning how to dribble and how to
shoot. Although there was no proper way to figure out a way to score a basket, players sought fit the
best way the best way they knew at the time. As time passed players of the sport often studied each
other. Those who were successful at scoring the basketball were studied more than others. Layups

Descriptive Essay About Titanic
Famous Maritime Disasters
For as long as people have been using wood to float on water, there have been maritime disasters. The
most we can do is mourn for dead, be sensitive to the trauma of the survivors, and learn from these
tragic experiences.
Let s look at five well known or somewhat well known maritime disasters.
RMS Titanic
It s been the subject of more than one film, and not just the 1997 James Cameron blockbuster. It s
even the subject of a musical (The Unsinkable Molly Brown).
But just what is it about the Titanic that captures the imagination? Part of it, surely, is the luxury of the

This American Great Lakes freighter was used to haul taconite iron ore from mines near Duluth in
Minnesota to the iron works in Toledo, Detroit, and other Great Lakes port cities. More than just a
workhorse, the Edmund Fitzgerald was also known for its speed. The ship set seasonal hauling records
six times during its working life, which spanned from 1958 to 1975.
The captain, Peter Pulcer, was known as the DJ Captain , for his habit of playing music while the ship
sailed between Lakes Erie and Huron through the St. Clair and Detroit Rivers. Music was played day
and night. Furthermore, Captain Pulcer would also entertain spectators between Lakes Huron and
Superior at the Soo Locks, with running commentary about the vessel. As a result, the ship was well
known to boat watchers.
On November 9, 1975, Captain Ernest McSorley commanded the ship on what should have been a
somewhat routine run from Superior, Wisconsin (near Duluth) to a steel mill near Detroit. On that day,
the Edmund Fitzgerald accompanied another freighter, the SS Arthur M. Anderson. However, the next
day, both ships were caught in a sudden storm with waves up to 35 feet and winds that were near
hurricane force. The Fitzgerald reported it was having some difficulties, but its last transmission to the
Anderson said that they were holding their own.
Just after 7:10 PM, the Fitzgerald suddenly sank about 17 miles from Whitefish Bay, on the Canadian
side, near Sault Ste.

Theme Of Doubleness In The Great Gatsby
II. At this point, hints have already been dropped to the reader about Gatsby and his doubleness ,
(Hays, 1), but even so Fitzgerald now begins to emphasize the extent of that doubleness by
showcasing not only Gatsby s strange habits, but his wealth and power as well.
Fitzgerald has already demonstrated to the reader how unrestrained Gatsby s lifestyle is, and now he
has begun to slowly affirm Nick s doubts about Gatsby. Aside from that, Fitzgerald focuses even more
so on hinting at the truth behind Gatsby s notorious rumors.
The first time the reader actually sees Gatsby use his social status for something other than parties, is
during a brief encounter with a highway policeman.
As Gatsby speeds down a highway and is stopped by a policeman, Nick witnesses him wave a white
card from his wallet right in front of the man s face. This gaudy display of exemption implies that
Gatsby is not at all opposed to using his social status to his benefit, morally just or not. It hints back to
the rumors floating around his parties that Gatsby is not a man to be trifled with, so much that
Fitzgerald even goes so far as to call Gatsby second cousin to the devil (61). Thus, his doubleness as a
mysterious party host and a rumored cold blooded killer is brought to relevance (Hays, 1). 2. At lunch,
Nick is introduced to Meyer Wolfsheim, who very nearly exposes Gatsby s dealings in shady business.
This encounter is used to show where some of the rumors about Gatsby might

if she was just scared of being alone. I paraphrased this back to Jillian.
J: I don t think I want a proper relationship, I mean I don t love him and sometimes it feels like he s

Assessing Aphasia Within The Constructs Of The Who Icf Model
Assessing Aphasia within the Constructs of the WHO ICF Model
Assessing and treating people with health impairments is a challenge faced by health providers
throughout the world. In an attempt to create a standardized approach to classifications, terminology,
and functional descriptions, the World Health Organization created the International Classification of
Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) first as a trial in 1980 as the International Classification of
Impairments, Disabilities, and Handicaps, or ICIDH (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention,
2012), and then fully published it in 2001 under its current title. In what was considered a radical shift
of focus from the cause of the disease or disorder to the impact of the disease or disorder (World
Health Organization, 2002), the ICF is written from the perspective of ability versus disability.
Specifically, it looks at health and functioning in society rather than just limitations, or disabilities. To
accomplish this, the ICF is structured around four broad components related to health. These
components are (a) health conditions (referring to disorders or disease) which then affect (b) body
functions and structure (impairment), (c) activities (e.g., tasks and actions by an individual), and (d)
participation (involvement in life situations) with additional consideration for the interdependence and
impact of (e) environmental factors and (f) personal factors (Chapey, 2008; CDC, 2012). The three

Analysis Of Garmin And Black Diamond
Garmin Stick
I. Introduction
The product we were trying to produce had to be innovative, user friendly and affordable. This meant
that the name of our GPS guided walking canes should echo our image as a brand and shine light onto
our roots. When we decided that the organizations which are going to come together to form this
product we chose Garmin and Black Diamond. A product name which resembles our brand name
(Garmin) and the product itself (Walking poles and canes) had to be used. Hence Garmin Stick was

Love Of Love In Shakespeare s Romeo And Juliet
Shakespeare s tale Romeo and Juliet is all about the love displayed by characters, including the
platonic love that is demonstrated by best friends Romeo and Mercutio. Both Baz Luhrmann and
Franco Zeffirelli are able to portray this perfectly in their own different ways during the major fight
scene between Tybalt and Mercutio. Baz Luhrmann is able to portray love in this fight scene with
dramatic and intense music, along with fast paced camera work and close up shots. The close ups, for
example, are very important in displaying the love between Mercutio and Romeo. Whilst Mercutio
intervenes between the fight of Romeo and Tybalt, Luhrmann uses close ups to demonstrate how
much Romeo and Mercutio mean to each other. From the close up of the two, the audience can clearly
see the distress that is shown on Romeo s face when he sees that Mercutio is dead. For the love of
family that is displayed throughout this scene especially by Tybalt, Luhrmann uses fast paced intense
music to show how heated it is for Tybalt, and how much he dislikes the Montague household, due to
the love for his own household, the Capulets. On the other hand, Franco Zeffirelli isn t able to use
these cinematic techniques due to them not appealing to the target audience. Zeffirelli doesn t need to
use over dramatised cinematic techniques to portray the friendship that Romeo and Mercutio share as
they don t appeal to his target audience. Instead, Zeffirelli uses the emotions of the characters and the
way that

The Pros And Cons Of Capitalization
Capitalization
We live in the era of Globalization, which refers to the international integration of goods, services,
people, and money with the purpose of making an area more profitable or productive, or useful. This
term sounds good for everybody. If we exchange all these components, the living of the global citizens
raises, but this is not all true. In fact, this exchange originates more macrolevel issues globally, and
with these problems, also microlevel issues. I m not saying it has not been an effective way all these
past years to benefit the population with a more worldwide opportunity to success, but has it been
addressed correctly? Let s take a look to some of the problems that overrun our world.
Many nations go blind with the idea of producing more profitable people for their countries economic
growth to the point that they strength up iceberg issues in society, problems that only their top are
known but their bottom are unacknowledged. When we explore these issues deeper we find that there
is an inequality in human rights. One of the main rights that is not given in a same quality to
everybody is education. For instance, students from wealthy families get the chance to go to good
schools and universities, while students living in poverty have minimum chances to go to good
schools or they don t even get the opportunity to attend college, as it has been proven to us in the
podcast Carlos doesn t remember , when Carlos is given the opportunity to attend a

Motivation to Breastfeed
The motivation to breastfeed: A fit to the opponent process theory? from the Journal of Personality
and Social Psychology (Myers Siegel, 1985). I This chose this article because I wanted a psychology
article on breastfeeding. I have ideas of breastfeeding research I want would like to do for my senior
thesis (if I get into the honors psychology program), and down the road for my dissertation. I selected
this article from other breastfeeding ones because it uses data, and because it talks about the
motivation behind breastfeeding. As a lactation consultant I encounter times when I can tell that the
mother comes to me because breastfeeding is just what you do, but really doesn t want to do it; so the
information from the article can give me an idea how to better help my clients. This article compared
the act of breastfeeding to addictive behaviors. It talked about how the bliss experienced while
breastfeeding, the stress right before breastfeeding, and the withdrawal during weaning. I enjoyed
reading this because this is some of the reasons that I went into psychology. I want to understand
breastfeeding from an intellectual stand point; to define it as behaviors and break it down it ways that
creates an environment compatible with success. One thing I took from the article is ways to study
breastfeeding that allows for control groups. They took surveys from both breastfeeding women, and
from women who have never breastfed. They were asked them what they thought the

Intellect Vs. Instinct In Jack London s To Build A Fire
To Build a Fire by Jack London is a novella, published in 1908, is about a man who individually
travels through the Yukon, and faces a variety of obstacles, until finally he decides to face dignity in
his death. The novella s point of view is third person omniscient, therefore the narrator tells us
thoughts and feelings of all of the characters in the story. London was born on January 12, 1876 in San
Francisco to his mother, Flora Chaney who was married to John London. London had a challenging
childhood due to his unstable mother. He had to work for a gruesome eighteen hours a day, and every
penny he made went to feeding his family. After working at several different jobs, he decided to join
the Yukon gold rush in 1897. His experiences gave ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this novella, the environment surrounding the man is the Yukon in Alaska. The temperature is said
to be less than fifty below zero, and it is abundant with snow and ice. Nature is indifferent to what
happens to the man, whether it is positive or negative, The environment does nothing to help its
inhabitants; in fact, it is coldly indifferent to their existence and struggle. In To Build a Fire, the Yukon
would be bitterly cold without the man, as well, and it does not cease when the man struggles to stay
alive (Wayne). Throughout the novella, it seems as if nature is after the man, throwing obstacle after
obstacle at the poor man; however, nature just simply doesn t care about the man s well being. Even
though the man is suffering and fighting for life, the temperature doesn t raise; and even if he wasn t
there the temperature still wouldn t have risen. Another example that portrays this fact is when the
man was trying to dry off and the snow took out the fire he was using. This fire was the hope of
survival for the man, yet nature just doesn t care. The last example that presents this branch of
naturalism is represented by the dog s behavior. After the man creates his first fire and defrosts the ice
on his body, he calls the dog because he decides to continue his journey. Although the dog
accompanies him, it opposed the idea because it wanted to stay warm

How The Invention Of The Diesel Engine Changed In The...
The invention of the Diesel engine changed the way people lived in the industrial revolution. It had
countless long term consequences both positive and negative. Firstly, the Diesel engine helped
businesses, and people selling goods flourish in their businesses. The engine not only helped the
selling and accessibility of goods in the short term, it also aided the economy in the long term. The
invention of the Diesel engine meant that goods were more accessible and money could be gained
quicker. The Diesel engine has some very terrible long term effects. Still today the diesel engine is one
of the biggest producers of pollution. Studies have shown that a Diesel engine emits four times more
toxic pollution than a bus. (Carrington, D. (2015).

Examples Of Isolation In A Rose For Emily
In William Faulkner s short story, A Rose for Emily, Emily Grierson, a prominent member of her
small town, dies alone in her home. Upon her death, curious townsfolk entered her home trying to
learn her secrets. It was thought she was crazy. Emily Grierson was not crazy; she was isolated by her
father, which led to her odd social tendencies and unique interactions with others.
A Rose for Emily is a short story based in a small town. The narrator focuses a lot on Emily Grierson
after her death, which contributed to the odd circumstances of her life. The narrator said multiple
times they believed she wasn t crazy. However, their actions proved to show the opposite.
Emily s father played a role in her isolation. Her town believed she was crazy because of the way she
and her father carried themselves, the fact she had never married, and the way she dealt with grief.
Throughout her life, her father turned away countless numbers of suitors, even well into her 30s,

Symptoms: A Population Based Study states, Social Isolation and loneliness have been individually
identified to be associated with depressive symptoms (Ge 2). Some of the symptoms were being
single, living alone, having a weak or small social network and infrequency of social interactions
(Ge2). Emily Grierson had 75% of the symptoms. She was at a very high risk for depression with the
death of her father as well as not having a support system of friends to communicate with. The town

In a play, rituals are a series of actions performed by people in a normal situation; thus, the performers

drama reflects a real ritual, characters must abandon their normalcies and assume different roles. In
Master Harold ... and the boys and Endgame by Athol Fugard and Samuel Beckett, respectively,
relationships are developed for mutual gain; they promote personal welfare, satisfaction, and gain. The
ritualistic method by which the characters converse reveals the absurdity and necessity of

Psalms Of Life Henry Longfellow
An Analysis of 3 messages in Psalm of Life Life is too short to wait. There won t always be time in
life. People need to realize that time does not slow down, if anything it feels faster. Everyone needs to
look at life one day at a time, because if you look and plan for just the future life will breeze right past
you. Many people just look forward to their death instead of trying to see what they can accomplish on
this earth. If people were to just see what their true potential is, then they would understand why life
should not be wasted. Henry Longfellow was a man that was a poet, his was also a traveler and a
romantic. He wrote what the old type of poetry, known to have rhyme and rhythm. He identified
European literature and thoughts throughout his poet. In Henry Longfellow Poem A Psalm of Life
there are three messages told about life. Mr. Longfellow demonstrates the importance of living in the
now. Time is not something that anyone has to waste, it should be used wisely. In Henry s poem A
Psalm of Life he states, Let the dead Past bury its dead/Act act in the living Present! (Lines 22 23)
These lines sum up as whatever happens in life happens. People just need to let the past stay there,
because in reality it is not a real thing. There is no way to go back to the past and touch it. Instead of
holding on to the past and not letting go, people should just act in living the present. There is no need
for someone to spend their entire life thinking about what they did

Character Analysis of Katherine Anne Porter s He
In Katherine Anne Porter s short story He, she presents several themes that she develops primarily
through the actions of the main characters, particulary Mrs. Whipple. Porter portrays a poor, lower
class Southern family and the difficulties they encounter. More importantly, she centers the story
around the feelings of shame, pride, and an exaggerated concern for appearances through Mrs.
Whipple s s relationship with her mentally retarded son and her behavior toward Him. Other
characters, such as her husband Mr. Whipple and their two able bodied children Adna and Emly serve
to expand the story s themes and highlight the extremity of Mrs. Whipple s actions. ... Show more

behind closed doors he does not get special, or even equal, treatment. When he climbed trees or later
goes to get the bull, Mrs. Whipple is not worried about His safety but what the neighbors will think if
he gets hurt. She is petrified that someone would say she had neglected her duties. However, when
Emly gets cold, she gets His blankets (325). Although Mrs. Whipple makes grand demonstrations to
her neighbors, He seems somewhat exploited in the household. Even after he becomes ill, he works in
the field. After his illness during the winter, He walked as if His feet hurt Him. The very next
sentence, though, tells us that despite this, He was able to run a cotton planter during the season (329).
A genuine concern for His welfare would not lead to such actions. If Mrs. Whipple really feared for
his life as much as she said she did, she would exhibit and act on a desire to protect him, regardless of
whether the neighbors were watching.
Mrs. Whipple s worry about appearances extends beyond her behavior toward Him. When her brother
visits, she insists that they slaughter a pig, despite the fact that the family will need it later. Instead of
presenting an honest view of her family life, she creates an illusion

Jack Welch Is The Ceo Of General Electric ( Ge ) Essay
Jack Welch is the CEO of General Electric (GE). He has an exceptionally legitimate methodology
with regards to dealing with his organization. As indicated by the video, Jack Welch anticipates that
his workers will be lively, have high official capacity, and be energetic with an edge. Be that as it may,
there is an extensive contention encompassing Jack Welch. Jack Welch sorts out his representatives in
various levels taking into account execution. His classifications include: top entertainers, center
seventy percent, and underperformers. He clarifies that in spite of the fact that it is not genuine that he
fires the underperformers, by arranging them he expect that they will either abandon themselves or
work much harder to remain. Along these lines he is basically making them mindful of where they
remain in an association and to know about the commitments expected of them. This likewise permits
him to have an unmistakable picture of who to remunerate alongside who needs change. Besides, he
seeks after Winning is everything methodology. This appears to recommend that Welch is a man who
thinks more about the result than the procedure and assets that go into creation, including his
representatives. Albeit questionable in a few viewpoints, Jack Welch is persuasive in a few
perspectives too. He has made the point that the best thing about being a pioneer is developing. Taking
into account this, Jack Welch has been delegated an incremental pioneer, which has points of

Gary Soto
Gary Soto was an amazing poet. He was quite famous and had many achievements throughout his
current life. His poems are easy to understand and literal. The poems are usually about events that
have happened to him. Soto is definitely a great poet whose style of writing is unique.
Gary Soto was born on April 12, 1952. He was raised in Fresno, California. Married to Carolyn Oda,
he s now 63 years old. Gary had a tough childhood. His father died when he was five years old. Soto
received very little motivation from his family. As a result of this, he did poorly in school. But, during
high school he found an interest in poetry. Soto received the 1993 Andrew Carnegie Medal for Film
Excellence when he produced the film The Pool Party . He also attended Fresno City College, and
California State University. There, he earned his B.A degree in English. At the University of
California, Irvine, Soto did graduate work in poetry. He was also the first Mexican American to earn

Global Organizational Structure Is The Way A Company
As trade increases hyper competition grows forcing organizations to go global. By a company going
global it requires them to rethink strategy and reform (Ananthram and Pearson, 2008). Global
organizational structure is the way a company aims to merge local preferences with global strategy.
The definition of global strategy is strategic choices that have the characteristics of being globally
uniform or integrated, (Yip et al., 1997) such as standardization of products, uniform marketing, and
competitive moves, but all globally (Townsend et al., 2004; Zou and Cavusgil, 2002; Bayraktar and
Ndubisi, 2014). Global strategic strategy is a way to adjust to globalization. Globalization is the
economic and social process by which economies and communities grow inextricably interdependent
(Jhirad et al., 2009). The recent financial crisis (Das, 2010), large amount of poverty, and climate
change are all problems that show how the world is globally connected because all countries impact
each other (Jhirad et al., 2009).
Research Methodology
This research is qualitative. When the research focuses on fields such as human behavior, strategy
configuration, and policy assessment the qualitative approach is recognized as the appropriate
scientific method (Tilaki and Hedayati, 2015;Polkinghorne, 1991). This study will examine the
organizational structure of the United Nations in order to come to a conclusion as to a more efficient
structure that could have been used during the

Classical Liberalism Is A Political Philosophy Originated
Classical Liberalism is a political philosophy originated in the 18th century based on the idea of
individual liberty created to preserve an open and accepting, and open minded society. Classical
liberalism is very solemn when advocating for the value of freedom in which emphasizes the
importance of religion, speech, press, assembly, and markets which includes free trade market
capitalism, and economic liberalism. Up until around the 1900s, this ideology was commonly known
as Liberalism, however, it s now important to classify it as Classical Liberalism mostly in English
speaking countries. Worldwide however, Liberalism is a wide ranging term that can also be associated

John Locke, an English philosopher, shared some of the same ideas that Hobbes possessed. Locke
believed in the power of a government to preserve freedom, but he also believed in overthrowing any
government that violated a citizen s rights, and as a solution, getting a new government competent for
the duty of serving the people. Locke also believed in freedom by nature. Everyone has a natural right
to life, liberty, and property. Locke believed in men preserving their own civil interest, by those he
means life, liberty, health, and the possession of land, money, houses, and such things. He believed
that all men are free by nature, and that no private person has any right in any manner to prejudice
another person in his civil enjoyments. Locke also believes that God gave men the world to make use
of it, therefore he values so much the right to property.
Another philosopher from the 17th century, and who made an impact on how political economy works
is Adam Smith, one of the major philosophers of the Scottish Enlightenment. Smith is considered as
one of the source of classical liberal commitments, reducing state regulations on economic life and
trade. He was very powerful with his argument, he believed

Family Capitalism And The 19th Century Family capitalism is regarded to firms that are operated by family and its family member, although it is also known as perpetuation of family capitalism, which means long live and long lasting, they usually could not be passed on by more than one generation (Jones and Rose, 1993). Since the early 20th Century, among the world, Europe had a concentration of the largest ten and twenty companies in countries that are under family control. For instance in France at the beginning of the 21st Century, only 15 families had controlled 33.8% of the total market value of listed corporate assets; and in Germany, family firms hold 17 of the largest hundred companies. However on the other hand, there was only 6.6% of market value that were hold by family firms in the United Kingdom (James, 2008). The aim of this essay is to explain whether Cadbury was a typical family capitalism in the 19th Century. I will argue that Cadbury was not a typical family capitalism as they held the Quaker beliefs that made them different from other family firms; they also had a different organisation structure and management style; and they lasted longer than the other family firms at that time. This essay is structure as follows; first, I will explain the Quaker belief and how it made Cadbury different from other family firms; then I will examine Cadbury s organisation structure and management style; and finally, I will look at the durability of Cadbury and compare it with another family firm. How Does Capote Describe The Town Holcomb Although, Capote writes about a monumental murder he focuses in on how graceful Holcomb is before the murder; therefore, Capote verbalizes even if a town is safe it can be threatening anywhere. Capote uses literary devices such as anaphora to describe the town Holcomb to give readers a comprehension on how Holcomb acted before the chaos began. In the beginning of the book Capote reports Holcomb town as, Like the waters of the river, like the motorists on the highway, and like the yellow streaking down the Santa Fe tracks, drama, in the shape of exceptional happenings, has never stopped there (Capote 5). Life in Holcomb was as if the town had its own little world and nothing from the outside mattered. Holcomb was just a small, quiet town in the middle of nowhere. Capote first mentions how graceful the Greeks are to let the readers know it was very peaceful there before chaos. • 8. Nihilism in Crime and Punishment Essay Themes of Nihilism in Crime and Punishment Nihilism is one of the most difficult philosophies to accurately define because of its ambiguous nature. In its simplest form, one might consider it an extremely pessimistic form of skepticism in which the individual discounts even the idea of existence. Therefore, to a nihilist, all values, relationships, authority, beliefs, and emotions are baseless and empty. First popularized in Ivan Turgenev s Fathers and Sons in 1862, nihilism is associated with a revolutionary movement that occurred in Russia from 1814 to 1876. The principles of nihilism often can be linked with those of utilitarianism, existentialism, and anarchism. Dostoevsky demonstrates his aversion to this philosophy through ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Throughout the story we are shown that he is not above the emotions and guilt that are the basic human reactions to an action as extreme as murder. His downfall comes because of this very fact, as he mentally and physically deteriorates under the stress of his culpability. His arrogance is proven to be the unfounded and foolhardy ideas of one who is truly a deeply insecure and unstable person (though Raskolnikov never truly realizes this). Through Raskolnikov s exemplification of the impracticality of this principle, Dostoevsky makes his greatest point in Crime and Punishment. His commentary on the subject seeks to discredit the theory in the circumstance of an individual superman by displaying Raskolnikov as a character who is difficult for readers to identify with because of his inanity. Even Raskolnikov s name is a symbol of nihilistic ideas, the word raskol meaning schism in Russian, illustrating the shift from an older school of thought (social utopianism) to a darker philosophy: nihilism and utilitarianism. Raskolnikov seems to fluctuate back and forth between the two philosophies, acting on one and then mentally chastising himself for it, immediately and almost erratically changing his mind. This symbolizes the more human side of him struggling ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 14. The World War I, The Australian Home Front During World War I, the Australian home front was impacted by a long and varying list of occurrences during the period of time between the years of 1914 to 1918. The home front was influenced politically through the arguments over the conscription vote and as Australia became divided between the different war beliefs. It was also influenced by social change, as the use of censorship drastically altered the Australians views of war and women began to pick up odd jobs in order to assist the soldiers as very few of them were allowed to directly help as nurses in Gallipoli. There were also extreme economic alterations as the wages in Australia were pushed down and prices were pushed up, and the country discarded major trade partners who had become their enemy. *** The Australian home front during WWI was drastically altered politically through the conscription vote that Billy Hughes, Prime Minister of Australia, believed necessary. 50,000 Australian men had signed up for the war before the year of 1914 had come to an end which was a rate of over 10,000 per month but the enlistment numbers dropped way down to 6,000 for the month of the Gallipoli landing in 1915. Once again, however, the numbers rose sharply on the home front after the news of the landing came back home, as many wished to avenge their fallen countrymen, and nobody could question the solemnity of the conflict. • 19. Theme Of Doubleness In The Great Gatsby II. At this point, hints have already been dropped to the reader about Gatsby and his doubleness , (Hays, 1), but even so Fitzgerald now begins to emphasize the extent of that doubleness by showcasing not only Gatsby s strange habits, but his wealth and power as well. Fitzgerald has already demonstrated to the reader how unrestrained Gatsby s lifestyle is, and now he has begun to slowly affirm Nick s doubts about Gatsby. Aside from that, Fitzgerald focuses even more so on hinting at the truth behind Gatsby s notorious rumors. The first time the reader actually sees Gatsby use his social status for something other than parties, is during a brief encounter with a highway policeman. As Gatsby speeds down a highway and is stopped by a policeman, Nick witnesses him wave a white card from his wallet right in front of the man s face. This gaudy display of exemption implies that Gatsby is not at all opposed to using his social status to his benefit, morally just or not. It hints back to the rumors floating around his parties that Gatsby is not a man to be trifled with, so much that Fitzgerald even goes so far as to call Gatsby second cousin to the devil (61). Thus, his doubleness as a mysterious party host and a rumored cold blooded killer is brought to relevance (Hays, 1). 2. At lunch, Nick is introduced to Meyer Wolfsheim, who very nearly exposes Gatsby s dealings in shady business. This encounter is used to show where some of the rumors about Gatsby might ... • 21. Assessing Aphasia Within The Constructs Of The Who Icf Model Assessing Aphasia within the Constructs of the WHO ICF Model Assessing and treating people with health impairments is a challenge faced by health providers throughout the world. In an attempt to create a standardized approach to classifications, terminology, and functional descriptions, the World Health Organization created the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) first as a trial in 1980 as the International Classification of Impairments, Disabilities, and Handicaps, or ICIDH (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2012), and then fully published it in 2001 under its current title. In what was considered a radical shift of focus from the cause of the disease or disorder to the impact of the disease or disorder (World Health Organization, 2002), the ICF is written from the perspective of ability versus disability. Specifically, it looks at health and functioning in society rather than just limitations, or disabilities. To accomplish this, the ICF is structured around four broad components related to health. These components are (a) health conditions (referring to disorders or disease) which then affect (b) body functions and structure (impairment), (c) activities (e.g., tasks and actions by an individual), and (d) participation (involvement in life situations) with additional consideration for the interdependence and impact of (e) environmental factors and (f) personal factors (Chapey, 2008; CDC, 2012). • 23. Love Of Love In Shakespeare s Romeo And Juliet Shakespeare s tale Romeo and Juliet is all about the love displayed by characters, including the platonic love that is demonstrated by best friends Romeo and Mercutio. Both Baz Luhrmann and Franco Zeffirelli are able to portray this perfectly in their own different ways during the major fight scene between Tybalt and Mercutio. Baz Luhrmann is able to portray love in this fight scene with dramatic and intense music, along with fast paced camera work and close up shots. The close ups, for example, are very important in displaying the love between Mercutio and Romeo. Whilst Mercutio intervenes between the fight of Romeo and Tybalt, Luhrmann uses close ups to demonstrate how much Romeo and Mercutio mean to each other. From the close up of the two, the audience can clearly see the distress that is shown on Romeo s face when he sees that Mercutio is dead. For the love of family that is displayed throughout this scene especially by Tybalt, Luhrmann uses fast paced intense music to show how heated it is for Tybalt, and how much he dislikes the Montague household, due to the love for his own household, the Capulets. On the other hand, Franco Zeffirelli isn t able to use these cinematic techniques due to them not appealing to the target audience. Zeffirelli doesn t need to use over dramatised cinematic techniques to portray the friendship that Romeo and Mercutio share as they don t appeal to his target audience. Instead, Zeffirelli uses the emotions of the characters and the way that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This term sounds good for everybody. If we exchange all these components, the living of the global citizens raises, but this is not all true. In fact, this exchange originates more macrolevel issues globally, and with these problems, also microlevel issues. I m not saying it has not been an effective way all these past years to benefit the population with a more worldwide opportunity to success, but has it been addressed correctly? Let s take a look to some of the problems that overrun our world. Many nations go blind with the idea of producing more profitable people for their countries economic growth to the point that they strength up iceberg issues in society, problems that only their top are known but their bottom are unacknowledged. When we explore these issues deeper we find that there is an inequality in human rights. One of the main rights that is not given in a same quality to everybody is education. For instance, students from wealthy families get the chance to go to good schools and universities, while students living in poverty have minimum chances to go to good schools or they don t even get the opportunity to attend college, as it has been proven to us in the podcast Carlos doesn t remember , when Carlos is given the opportunity to attend a ... This article compared the act of breastfeeding to addictive behaviors. It talked about how the bliss experienced while breastfeeding, the stress right before breastfeeding, and the withdrawal during weaning. The novella s point of view is third person omniscient, therefore the narrator tells us thoughts and feelings of all of the characters in the story. London was born on January 12, 1876 in San Francisco to his mother, Flora Chaney who was married to John London. London had a challenging childhood due to his unstable mother. The temperature is said to be less than fifty below zero, and it is abundant with snow and ice. Nature is indifferent to what happens to the man, whether it is positive or negative, The environment does nothing to help its inhabitants; in fact, it is coldly indifferent to their existence and struggle. In To Build a Fire, the Yukon would be bitterly cold without the man, as well, and it does not cease when the man struggles to stay alive (Wayne). Throughout the novella, it seems as if nature is after the man, throwing obstacle after obstacle at the poor man; however, nature just simply doesn t care about the man s well being. Even though the man is suffering and fighting for life, the temperature doesn t raise; and even if he wasn t there the temperature still wouldn t have risen. Another example that portrays this fact is when the man was trying to dry off and the snow took out the fire he was using. This fire was the hope of survival for the man, yet nature just doesn t care. The last example that presents this branch of naturalism is represented by the dog s behavior. After the man creates his first fire and defrosts the ice on his body, he calls the dog because he decides to continue his journey. Although the dog accompanies him, it opposed the idea because it wanted to stay warm ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

By a company going global it requires them to rethink strategy and reform (Ananthram and Pearson, 2008). Global organizational structure is the way a company aims to merge local preferences with global strategy. The definition of global strategy is strategic choices that have the characteristics of being globally uniform or integrated, (Yip et al., 1997) such as standardization of products, uniform marketing, and competitive moves, but all globally (Townsend et al., 2004; Zou and Cavusgil, 2002; Bayraktar and Ndubisi, 2014).
