Papers On Cryptocurrency
Cryptocurrency Most people who are interested in technology have heard of Bitcoin.
Many might not know the ins and outs of what it is or how it s used, but they ve at
least heard of it. As someone who has taken an interest in computers, computer
programming, and what s going on in the tech world, I find the background and use of
cryptocurrency extremely fascinating, if not a little perplexing. U.S. Senator Thomas
Carper expressed the public s opinion of cryptocurrency well in saying Virtual
currencies, perhaps most notably Bitcoin, have captured the imagination of some, struck
fear among others, and confused the heck out of the rest of us. (Rosic, 2017). According
to an article written by Ameer Rosic, cryptocurrency is defined as a medium... Show

One of these that could make some people nervous is the complete anonymity and
irreversibility of the transactions. Most transactions use only anonymous usernames
with no link to someone s real world identity, so if you are the victim of a scam, there is
no way to trace down the person or get the money refunded. This anonymity is also a
con in the fact that this currency is the favored payment method for criminals doing
business online and on the dark web. Another possible con and major concern with
cryptocurrency is its volatility. According to CoinDesk s analysis of the top 3
cryptocurrencies over the past year, Bitcoin has gone from a low of $991.51 per coin
in 2/2017 to a high of $19,343.04 per coin in 12/2017 to $8,435.96 most recently on 2

$12.68 in 2/2017 to a high of $1,304.86 in 1/2018 to $854.14 most recently on 2/11/18.
LiteCoin, another less widely used cryptocurrency, was at a low of $42.58 in 8/17 to a
high of $319.35 in 12/17 with the most recent value at $155.05 on 2/11/18 (CoinDesk

The Game Of Baseball Was Invented By Abner Doubleday
Essay
The game of baseball was invented by Abner Doubleday, in 1839 177 years ago from
today. Baseball has been, and is still today, known as America s favorite pastime;
additionally, due to its extensive history and partaking it monumental events, it can as
well serve as a great topic to use in a story or poem. Poet Dale Ritterbusch, uses the
game of baseball along with metaphors in his poem as a vehicle to write about a more
substantial subject in poetry, the Vietnam War. His poem, Behind the Plate , can be
simply over looked to one as just a poem about an overweight catcher; nonetheless,
when closely examined, it has a deeper meaning. Authors Michael Cocchiarale and
Scott Emmert, both agree with the statement that baseball is a great outlet for further
analysis of a more important subject: Writers have seen sports, particularly baseball, as
a useful vehicle for cultural and epistemological analysis (Cocchiarale). The poem,
Behind the Plate , starts off with the line: Always the dumbest and fattest kid played
catcher (Ritterbusch, Behind ); however, Dale Ritterbusch chose to start this poem with
that statement for a reason it sets a tone for the rest of the poem to have a certain
meaning. The fat catcher is known to specifically represent America in the Vietnam
War; the catcher is fat because, well, in history catchers in baseball are often
overweight. Additionally, in general one who is fat in sports often has a disadvantage,
even in the case of being a catcher, and
Satire Definition
Political communication uses different tools to convey the message to the audience. The
use of humour is one such tool for disseminating political news in an alternative way.
Political humour is intended to evoke amusement about governance of society. Political
satire is a humour technique widely used in political communication to express and
ridicule the absurdities of its subjects in order to affect or prevent changes (Kaid and
Holtz Bacha, 2007).
The Oxford Dictionary defines satire as the use of humour, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule
to expose and criticise people s stupidity or vices, particularly in the context of
contemporary politics and other topical issues. Satire is a manner that blends a
censorious attitude with humour and wit for humanity and the human condition. In
modern times, the satire is used interchangeably with comedy and parody to make the
audience laugh at the events. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The nature of satires can be formal or indirect. The formal satire is of two types:
Juvenlian and Horatian. Juvenlian satire is angry, personal and bitter in nature and
harshly targets the wrong doers and corrupt political leaders in the society. Horatian
satire, on the other hand, is more gentle, tolerant and witty. It uses laughter to bring a
positive change in the society (Ritgero, 2009). Indirect satire does not address the
readers in direct form. Indirect satires are usually fictional narrative, in which the objects
of the satire are characters who make themselves and their opinions ridiculous or
obnoxious by what they think, say, and do, and are sometimes made even more
ridiculous by the author s comments and the narrative style. Therefore, satires have the
goal to strike the evil and bring out the reality and advocate for changes in
NSA Surveillance Cons
The presence of national surveillance in the United States is a widely debated topic, and
there are many positives and negatives to both sides. Although it has been operating for
such a lengthy time, the true actions of the NSA were revealed recently in the Snowden
Leaks of 2013. Many state that the NSA is good and necessary because they have
nothing to hide and because it will prevent future terrorist attacks. However, others argue
that the surveillanceviolates the Fourth Amendment and is useless. Even though there
appear to be many pros of having the NSA operate as they currently do, they should be
disregarded because such intrusive surveillance is unlawful, racist, and ineffective.
The Fourth Amendment has been morphed from a rigid ... Show more content on

The arguments of those who support the NSA have been refuted in the above
paragraphs as they are illogical and unfounded. The NSA has twisted the Fourth
Amendment so much that it is nearly unrecognizable, and it has even created new laws
in order for the government to deem its actions as legal . Surveillance is also convincing
agents to incriminate innocent American citizens just based on their religious affiliation.
Agents are even willing to break laws in order to spy on certain Muslim Americans,
despite having no evidence incriminating them. Also, data mining demands FBI agents to
focus on collecting data and chasing false leads instead of investigating actual cases.
This causes the government to lose credibility in their citizens eyes, causing a large
portion of the public to withdraw their information from cloud computing companies,
which will cost them up to $35 million of revenue loss. Furthermore, the collection of
data actually hinders the NSA s counterrorism efforts because the NSA s analysts are
unable to process the vast amount of information that is being spewed at them. The mass
amount of data that the NSA has acquired is also a temptation to terrorists, thus making
data collection even more useless. Ira Winkler, former NSA analyst, concludes, So,
besides knowing that it s illegal,
The Philosohpy of Immanuel Kant
Immanuel Kant is referred to as the father of deontological ethics, which is also
colloquially referred to as Kantianism, which provides a sophisticated explication of
deontology. His philosophy embodies capitulating to one s maxim, which he beliefs
that to be good, however, only if one s motives are unconditional and irrespective to
external reason. The maxim is referred to as the individual s intrinsic duty or obligation
to one s self or to others, which if applicable to everyone than it is congenial to the
universal law. John Stuart Mill is an advocate of the utilitarian theory, which believes
that happiness is the manifestation of pleasure and the absence of pain. These pleasures

Mill believes in the praxis of pleasure to accumulate the zenith of happiness, but with the
absent of pain. Motivation is irrelevant when regarding morality, because the result of one
s actions determines the morality, which is why utilitarianism is often referred to as
consequentialism. This philosophy is synonymous to a democracy in the sense that the
majority hold the moral weight, One should act so as to promote the greatest happiness
to the greatest number of those who will be affected by the act. There are two parts
which constitute pleasure by mills standards, intellectual and bodily. Bodily pleasures are
those that are stimulating to animals, because it does not involve the intellect. Humans,
however, have facilities that are more evolved than that of nonhumans, so the intellectual
pleasures are more appealing to humans. Intellectual pleasures are of more value than
bodily. He compares the stimulation from the intellectual pleasures to that of an ethereal
plant, meaning that one can easily adulterate the culmination of the aesthetic

Large Hail Analysis
Upon reading The Frequency of Large Hail over the Contiguous United States by
Schaefer et al., I discovered that the abstract was both informative and confusing. This
abstract was about the quality of the hail occurrence records and the geographical
tendencies that could be found in those records. While the abstract was interesting and
highlighted flaws in the data collection method, the abstract itself could have used some
improvements. The abstract began with detailing Stan Changnon s proclivity at studying
hail occurrences. Following this was an explanation of the hail data collection process
of the Storm Prediction Center (SPC). The authors then illustrated that records of
hailfall were separated into discrete size categories that were compared to common
objects. They acknowledged that the data records were subject to bias from technology
and population distributions. For example, they found that updating weather radars
increased hail reports, while urbanization biased reports away from rural areas. Schaefer
et al. also showed that occurrences of small hail comprised the majority of all... Show

could have improved in this extended abstract. On several occasions, they used
abbreviations without definitions. Some of these included AMS , AUG , NCDC and
NWS . Though these abbreviations would have been common knowledge in the
meteorology community, they should have still been defined with their first use. Another
off putting tendency was that the authors referred to Changnon by his first name, which
was especially strange since they later referred to him by his last name. Furthermore,
there were what appeared to be a few typographical errors in the abstract. For example,
in Figures 4, 6, and 7, the nautical mile unit is abbreviated as nim instead of nmi .
Additionally, the tense was not constant in the first paragraph. These changes would have
been relative easy for the authors to
The Effect Of Emotion Coaching On Children And Children...
Parent emotion coaching helps children to integrate their right brain with their left brain
for healthy development of emotion regulation. However, parents are required to be self
aware of their own emotions for positive results when emotion coaching their children.
Emotion coaching improves children s ability to self calm and label their feelings; in
addition, it fosters emotional health as parents teach their children to express emotions
especially when facing conflicting and difficult situations. Emotioncoaching programs
assist both parents and children with emotion dysregulation by breaking their negative
behavioral patterns resulting in improved behavioral conduct. Children diagnosed with
ADHD and ODD experience beneficial results with parentemotion coaching. Introduction
Emotion coaching assists parents in recognizing the significance of their children s
emotions by being receptive and accepting through spoken directives as children learn
how to appropriately express and cope with their own emotions (Dunsmore, Booker,
Ollendick, 2013). In addition, emotion coaching works when parents are equipped with
self awareness of their own emotions and that of their children (Lauw, Havighurst,
Wilson, Harley, Northam, 2014). These parents understand the importance of spending
time with their children to build the bridge of intimacy while assisting in the
development of placing names on emotions and teaching self comforting, empathy
towards others, and setting

As I have reviewed the information about Ana, it can be understood that she has areas of
weaknesses and strengths, and often does not want to attend school for various reasons.
It is through the presentation and implementation of the Present Level of Academic

While many know that home is the foundation and can be helpful to the educational
process, Ana doesn t come from a strong home. She has limited contact with her father,
and her mother became pregnant while in high school, and aside from graduating from
high school she had to obtain her GED. Now, her mother is working full time to
support her and her daughter. While mom has to provide, if there is no one to be there
with Ana after school hours this can be dangerous because there is no one to push her to
complete any school work, to study, or to do other necessary things to be academically
successful.
However, as I read closely, I inferred that there were others inside Ana s family, besides
her mother, whom were not successful in their educational journey due to the statement
from the background information within the case as it states, Her mother wants Ana to
finish school, as he wants her to be different from other family members. To some, that
can be a clear indication that at this point in Ana s educational journey her mother has
started to notice of the her past traits, as well as other family members actions that lead
them to obtaining a GED or possibly even dropping out.
However, from the reading, it appears that she a great connection with her teachers, and
maybe with the help of her teacher, and a guidance counselor, along with other
perspective individuals, they can pair her with a peer buddy. Someone who will sit with

environment and being profitable are not mutually exclusive. They are one and the

percent by renewable energy, to create zero waste, and to sell products that sustain our
resources and the environment. To meet those goals, Wal Mart would seek to transform
its supply chain, in cooperation with suppliers and environmental nonprofit

When fossil fuels are burnt, the c02 is released into the atmosphere rapidly, and the
c02 cycle doesn t have enough time to get the c02 out of the atmosphere. This c02
traps the heat from coming out of the atmosphere and creates global warming. Global
warming is serious because it melts the ice cap, removes habitas, raises sea levels and
many other negative effects. A good way to stop this environmental hazard is to use
green energy. Instead of burning coal and natural gas, we can use more wind turbines,
hydro electric dams and other green electricity options. We also need to research solar
panels more, so we can make them more efficiant. If we start to do this, the c02 outtake
would be significantly decreased and the world will be a better place to live
Changing The Australian Constitution
The Australian constitution is a set of rules laid down for the governance of the nation.
These are rules are afforded special status, in that they can not be over turned in the same
manner as other laws. Constitution law is supreme law in that it overrides other laws.
Prior to the Australian Constitution Act in 1901, Australia was comprised of a set of
territories under the rule of the British Empire. The Australian constitutionwas formed as
a result of representatives from each colony attending meetings (conventions) in order to
draw up a constitution for governing the nation. The purpose of the constitution is that it
is responsible for ensuring correct procedures are used by government in the creation of
legislation. This paper will... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These disputes are adjudicated in the High Court. One of the roles of the High Court is
the interpretation of the Constitution. The High Court does this when there is a specific
case is before the court requiring a ruling relating to the interpretation of the application
of a section of the Constitution. It does not give advisory opinions. Interpretation of the
Constitution has been needed not only because of disagreements over the meaning and
application of particular provisions, but also because of developments which were not
foreseen when the Constitution was written. At the present time, evidence of how the
role of the constitution applies to the governance of Australia, can be illustrated by the
current considerations due in the High Court in determining citizenship eligibility of
parliamentarians. This ruling, dependent upon the High Courts interpretation of the
constitution, will determine the legality of some parliamentarians to be members of
parliament. Example3: Over site
By having constitutional over site in matters relating to the implementation of laws, one
important aspect of this role is to ensure that all Australian citizens are treated equally. In

Tourism, Silverman makes several critiques of O Rourke s Cannibal Tours. Silverman
argues that O Rourke constructed a limited view of the New Guinea tribes. Silverman
attributes the eroding authenticity to the tourists pursuit for entertainment in exchange for
money. For instance, O Rourke s interviews mostly covered reactions from tourists and
how they gawked over the natives, arrogantly depicting their primitive lives. Silverman
argues that the film portrays tourism as a process that only disempowers local people and

they go to primitive cultures with a broader view to understand cross cultural perspective.

Just take a few deep breaths and relax , says my trainer as I feel beads of sweat running
down my forehead. My whole body is numb and my mind is racing while I try and

I fell in love with boxing the moment I stepped into the gym about two years ago. The
first thing I saw were two guys sparing and all of the sudden one of them took a punch

How Biases Affect Jury Duty In Twelve Angry Men
The play Twelve Angry Men by Reginald Rose demonstrates how biases can affect jury
duty. A bias is a prejudice in favor of a particular group, person, or thing resulting in
unfairness. This play gives readers an example of how biases influence the thoughts of
many. Each juror is biased in their own way, whether it is race, age, or gender. These
bias prevent people from seeing the truth to a side of a story. The twelve jurors must
determine the fate of the eighteen year old boy without leading their biases in different
interpretations of the evidence. Biased stereotypes tend to combine with the tendency to
repent information proving evidence. More times than not the ones who are biased do
not realize it. They proceed to input their conscience... Show more content on

Amongst the three love poems examined in this essay, the theme of male or female
power in relationships pervades throughout. The views of the speakers are expressed
and defined through literary and poetic techniques. This gives the reader an insight into
the speaker s problems and dissatisfaction with a relationship, due to an imbalance of
power. However there are dissimilarities between the poems for example where in La
Belle Dame Sans Merci the female displays supernatural power and dominance over a
knight, the Duke in My Last Duchess desires psychological power over his Duchess.

Also the Duke believes himself to be above the level of common people saying he
would never stoop down to their level. From this we can presume the Duke is afraid of
losing his power, and would rather hold his head up high and suffer for it rather than
stoop . The use of this word indicates that the Duke is in a state of mind where he sees
himself as superior compared to others.
However as we read on we learn that the Duke had limited control over his wife. He
states that She had a heart…to soon made glad , showing that he felt she was
amused easily and distracted away from him perhaps by other men. This is amplified
further when he says She liked whate er she looked on , showing he believes she
undermined his control over her and paid attention to other men . We can infer from this
that the Duke was disturbed about his deficit of restrain over his wife and is deeply
angered at how she thanked men other than himself.
The Duke is outraged at the lack of affection he receives from his Duchess, and
provides the reader with reasons as to why he deserves more. The Duke says She
ranked my gift of a nine hundred years old name with anybody s gift . Here the Duke
explains that his supremacy, which he received from his family name, has stretched over
several centuries and his Duchess should therefore appreciate him for it. His contenders
have a lot less to offer but still
The Lottery, And Kurt Vonnegut Jr.
A third person narration story is a separation or indirect involvement of a narrator with
the action of a story, and this type of narration can influence the content and the theme of
a story. A third person storyteller can sometimes be all seeing, also known as omniscient,
or they can be limited meaning to adhere firmly to the viewpoint of a specific character
or characters. Shirley Jacksons The Lottery and Kurt VonnegutJr. s Harrison Bergeronare
two good examples of third person point of view stories. These two stories give the
authors the liberty to influence their content and theme across to readers using third
person narration without being biased.
The third person point of view in Shirley Jackson s The Lottery demonstrates a
remarkably unbiased narrator. The storyteller does not inquire into the direction of the
minds of the characters or drift into their emotions or feelings. As the story unfolds, the
narrator purely acknowledges the development of The Lottery. The reader only has
information contributed by the outside perception of events in the story, and Jackson
uses the narrator to increase the tension of the story. To obtain clues and possible
explanations, this type of narration allows the reader to take a more active, committed
role in the reading. The direction of the point of view guides the reader as an eyewitness
to the story; it is up to the reader to judge the meaning of the physical phenomenon
regarding the black box (Jackson 237)

especially after a rainfall when grubs and larvae are near the surface. Skunks dig small

planet to live on. Robotic missions will be key to researching, gathering data, and
figuring out if life on another planet is a plausible option. Radiation exposure and the
weather in space are big concerns as to if the human race will be able to even establish
planet that is safe to inhabit. Will the human race survive?

The Importance Of Mobile Phones
Mobile telephones, sometimes called cellular telephone, is a type of short wave
analog or digital telecommunication in which a subscriber has a wireless connection
from a mobile phone to a relatively nearby transmitter. The transmitter s span of
coverage is called a cell. As the cellular telephone user moves from one cell or area of
coverage to another, the telephone is effectively passed on to the local cell transmitter.
A mobile phone is a wireless handheld device that allows users to make calls and send
text messages, among other features. The earliest generation of mobile phones could
only make and receive calls. Today s mobile phones, however, are packed with many
additional features, such as web browsers, games, cameras, video players and even
navigational systems. A smartphone is a device that lets you make telephone calls, but
also adds in features that, in the past, you would have found only on a personal digital
assistantor a computer such as the ability to send and receive e mail and edit Office
documents, for example. In general, a smartphone will be based on an operating
system that allows it to run applications. Apple s iPhone runs the iOS, and BlackBerry
smartphones run the BlackBerry OS. Other devices run Google s Android OS, HP s
webOS, and Microsoft s Windows Phone. While almost all cell phones include some
sort of software (even the most basic models these days include an address book or
some sort of contact manager, for example), a smartphone will have
Colonialism and Imperialism in Nectar in a Sieve Essay
Imperialism in Nectar in a Sieve
The characters in the book Nectar in a Sieve had to deal with Western imperialism and
they had to adapt to the changing ideas associated with Western imperialism. Throughout
the book Rukmani had to struggle with her beliefs and how to cope with these changes.
From the beginning Rukmani coped with these changes, from culture to her way of life,
until the end of the book where even then her life was not through being changed.
In the first instance Rukmani had to deal with a husband that was several castes below
her. Usually if the woman was below the man she could probably do the work that he
does, being used to the labor that is. Yet in Rukmani s instance the man was below her,...

We do not ask for charity, but for that which is our due (69). Although Rukmani s sons
lost their jobs they soon began to learn the white man s ways, which led them to abandon
the only home they knew of and venture into the city.
Eventually Rukmani and her husband had to leave their home because their landlord
decided to sell the property that they were renting. Their one son, Murugan, had left
for the city and they had been hoping that he would take care of them. When they
arrived, they discovered that he had skipped town, and deserted both his family and
job. Rukmani and her husband, upon befriending a beggar child, knew not what to do
about money. Being from a small town, money was only used in emergencies when
they were short of food, needed to buy seed, or for some other necessary reason.
Although they would buy the children goodies, such as candy, or fireworks, upon
entering city life they soon discovered that money was for more than just necessity, an
Rukmani was soon introduced to the western idea of materialism. After she went on a
spending spree, she realized that some powerful force had taken control of her. She
soon realized what everyone in the modern world would be trapped into, and that is
money, and of planning for the future. Plans, everyone had plans. They were all built
on money. Save enough to keep dry, save enough to cast one s chains, save enough to
go away (183). Yet we all know that it is an endless struggle and that our problems of

The Future Of Us China Relations Essay
China Rising is a non arguable fact and the one of the most important subject in the
twenty first century. The rise of China is a relative threat to the neighbor regions or other
great powers. Further, some scholars also comment that China either will replace or has
already superseded the United State as the world s only superpower. China s growth is
too rapid and massive that other nations have limited or no opportunity to compete with
it. By using international relationstheories to analyze US China relations, there are three
main stream theories commonly using to explain this case: Realism, Liberalism, and
Constructivism. In addition, in the article The Future of US China Relations composed
by Aaron L. Friedberg, professor of politics and international affairs, he comments that
people predict US China relations with two different views optimistic or pessimistic.
However, which international relation theory applies this political phenomenon the best
is still debatable. This paper will argue that the conflicts between the two nations are
normal while China is growing, because the conflicts are derived from different
perspectives. Pessimistic realism and optimistic liberalism are two main points that will
be addressing when approach to this critical issue. Finally, the main argument in this
paper is to show why pessimistic realism will eventually prove to be accurate and true to
explain the future of US China relationships. When encounter the issue of US China

Essay On Dracula
Movie review of Dracula Bela Lugosi is arguably the most classic example of an actor
taking on a vampire role. However, during 1931 when the universal studio was casting
the 1931 s Dracula, Lugosi could only barely speak English, and therefore almost lost
his chance at playing the iconic part ( Dracula (1931 English Language Film ).
Nonetheless his accents and costumes, which has become the classic look of the vampire,
he himself was so typecast in his role that he was actually buried after his death in his
Draculacostume. Certainly, it is Lugosi s performance that makes Tod Browning s film
such an influential Hollywood picture. Overall, I will give it a 3 star out of 5, compared
with the older version film of Dracula, because of the dialogues and sounds, the plot is
much easier for the audiences to understand, without any editing or background music

Diabetes In Diabetes
The burden of chronic, non communicable diseases, such as diabetes, is developing
quickly in low and middle countries. This research found that there is an extent to people
lacking in knowledge about diabetes and its complications, access to diabetes related
health care and treatment, dietary and lifestyle changes; and family and social supports
from individuals living with diabetes (Anita, Miranda, Cody, Peter, 2012). Actualizing
administration programs for diabetes for underserved populations, in this case, the
indigenous populations in Guatemala are consequently a global health challenge.

Fisher s exact test for categorical variables (gender and language), and the Wilcoxon
rank sum test for nonparametric variables (years of schooling). ResultsSubstantial
demographic factors with this preliminary study within both the interview and chart

diabetes education is to a great extent inaccessible in the municipalities discussed

Pathos In Outliers By Malcolm Gladwell
People do not rise from nothing, according to Malcolm Gladwell. There are many
components that effect the way an individual becomes successful. Gladwell argues that
where, when, and how the person was raised has the biggest impact on their future
successes. The use of pathos, logos, and ethos benefit the points that are being convey by
Gladwell. They persuade the reader in thinking with the same mindset as the writer. In
Outliers, pathos, logos, and ethos are found throughout the book, multiple times, through
examples of people that achieved success. For pathos, connecting to the reader
emotionally is essential to convince the readers of Gladwell s argument. He uses pathos
to evoke an emotional response. One of many examples of Gladwell s use... Show more

fhurefhkserfhk Gladwell s use of pathos and emotions touched nerves of the readers and
compelled them to action. Logos are used by writers to engage the intellect in reason.
Malcolm Gladwell resorts to logos to provide a factual and logical support for his
argument. Professional hockey is described with logos to prove Gladwell s point. A
chart is provided that includes the birthdays of a professional hockey team. On the
chart, seventeen out of the twenty five players on the team were born in January,
February, March, or April. The reason why there is a majority of players born between
those months is because the cutoff for age class hockey is January 1 in Canada. Due
to this, players born closer to the beginning of the year have more time to improve and
mature than those born near the end of the year. This advantage developed a huge gap
with the skill of the hockey players. Gladwell s point is that the success of the people,
in this case hockey players, is often determined by factors, such as age, that are
Analysis Of A Dirty Job By Christopher Moore
Death, it s a dirty job. But hey, somebody s gotta do it ( A Dirty Job ). A Dirty Job was
written by Christopher Moore. This book would be classified by Fiction genre
because it s neither a true story nor has facts. The book starts off in San Francisco in
the point of view of Charlie Asher, which makes it first person. The theme is
perseverance because he persevered with his job/duty no matter what was thrown at
him. The main character is Charlie Asher. He is described as a beta male and not
exdoridary or different throughout the books. The word used to describe him is
normal. At the beginning of the story Charlie is married to a girl named Rachel and
they have a daughter named Sophie. Later on in the story you meet Charlie s sister,
Jane, and you also meet a character named Minty Fresh. Charlie owns a second hand
store and his employees are a Goth girl named Lily and an ex cop named Ray. Charlie
has a Russian neighbor named Mrs. Korjev and a Chinese neighbor, Mrs. Ling. Closer
to the end the reader is introduced to Buddhist Nun, Audrey. All of these characters are
very important throughout the story. Throughout the story Charlie changes form
unextraordinary to very important. The minor characters as said earlier are Rachel,
Sophie, Jane, Minty Fresh, Lily, Ray, and Audrey. Rachel is a beautiful brown haired
woman. Sophie has her mother s brown hair. Jane is a lesbian who later on gets married
to a girl named Cassie who helps take care of Sophie when Charlie isn t
Why French Came To America
The French culture is known for living luxuriously and its beautiful language. Why did
the French come to America if they had such a wonderful life in France? The answer
may surprise you. The French came in waves to North America, all for separate reasons
based on their timing. These include: escaping religious persecution, trade, and
exploration of the New World. The seventeenth century was the beginning of the French
migration. The first Frenchmen to come to America was a group of Protestants, trying to
escape religious persecution. Because of their beliefs, [t]he Catholic royal family felt
threatened... [T]he French government issued a general order urging the extermination of

Samuel de Champlain is one of the most notable French immigrants in the French
Canadian culture. Those who are a part of the French Canadian culture are citizens of
Canada who are direct descendants of the first few French immigrants ( French

the inland rivers as well as being the first European to see the Great Lakes ( North
America s ). As an explorer, Champlain set up the basic land foundation of present day
Canada. He explored, mapped, and tracked things and places that were completely new
and foreign to not just the French, but the entire European continent. More and more
French explorers and missionaries entered North America after Champlain s discoveries.
Explorers eventually became tradesmen, trading furs and fish with the Natives who had
helped Champlain as well as the newly settled British American colonies (European
Encroachment). The French became known as a caring people. Not only did they go on
to helping the Natives in the French and Indian War, but very far down the line, helping
the Americans win the Revolutionary War. Having good relations and a lot of territory
led to America eventually getting some of it, further expanding its territory, making the
United States one of the largest countries in the
Beowulf Is A True Hero
Who is a true hero? I believe that Beowulf is a true hero one who is brave loyal and
puts himself in danger to save others. Beowulf fought many monsters who attacked
villages. He later on becomes king of the Geeks for 50 years after the Geeks got attacked
by a Dragon. Beowulf went with a small army to kill the dragon, Beowulfkills the dragon
but the dragon s venom kills Beowulf and Wiglaf the last man standing behind Beowulf
becomes king because he stayed loyal to Beowulf. Throughout Beowulf s quest to help
other people you get to see some of his herocharacteristics like his bravery, loyalty, and
strength.
One characteristic that a true hero has to have is bravery. A hero cannot fear anything
it is up againsts. Beowulf s bravery is shown when he says I swim in the blackness of
night hunting monsters out of the ocean and killing them one by one (Beowulf 38). We
know Beowulf is not scared of anything he is up against even the scary and cold hearted
Grendel He slipped through the door and there in the silence Snatched up thirty men
smashed them Unknowing in their beds and ran out with their bodies (Beowulf 34).
From these examples we can see how brave Beowulf really is. ... Show more content on

His quests are started by his loyalty towards others. Beowulf went to fight Grendel for
Hrothgar and when he meets Wiglaf he says Hail Hrothgar (Beowulf 37) which shows
loyalty towards Hrothgar. Even when Beowulf later on became king he still remained
loyal to his people. Beowulf went on to fight the dragon with a small army for his
people. He ended up killing the Dragon, and dying for his people His famous king
blooby, gasping For breath (Beowulf 58). Beowulf was loyal until the end and ended up
sacrificing himself for others, that is true

One Flew Over The Cuckoo s Nest
The movie, One Flew Over the Cuckoo s Nest is based on the experience of a criminal,
Randall P. McMurphy who chose to move into a mental institution rather than moving
into prison. McMurphy chose to do this because he believed his sentence would be equal
to the time he would need to spend in the mental institution. Once McMurphy got to the
institution he realized he would not be released into society, but to prison and the time
spent in the institution was adding onto his sentence. While in the institution, McMurphy
makes a huge impact on both the patients and the institution as a whole. McMurphy
challenges the norms and regulations of the institution and encourages the patients to
stand up for themselves. McMurphy s personality provided freedom, life, joy, and the
power the individuals in the institution needed to stand up against the strict
establishment. McMurphy takes risks, and encourages the patients to embrace. When
McMurphy first arrives at the institution, the patients all followed a structure in the
institution where interactions with others were limited. The patients were isolated, didn t
interact with one another and each patient had their own daily routine. This society was
made up of order and regulations and each patient had a common identity of insanity,
seeking medical treatment. McMurphy influences all the other patients and helps to
change the society. During his time in the institution, McMurphy develops relationships
with the other patients and

  • 2. Papers On Cryptocurrency Cryptocurrency Most people who are interested in technology have heard of Bitcoin. Many might not know the ins and outs of what it is or how it s used, but they ve at least heard of it. As someone who has taken an interest in computers, computer programming, and what s going on in the tech world, I find the background and use of cryptocurrency extremely fascinating, if not a little perplexing. U.S. Senator Thomas Carper expressed the public s opinion of cryptocurrency well in saying Virtual currencies, perhaps most notably Bitcoin, have captured the imagination of some, struck fear among others, and confused the heck out of the rest of us. (Rosic, 2017). According to an article written by Ameer Rosic, cryptocurrency is defined as a medium... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of these that could make some people nervous is the complete anonymity and irreversibility of the transactions. Most transactions use only anonymous usernames with no link to someone s real world identity, so if you are the victim of a scam, there is no way to trace down the person or get the money refunded. This anonymity is also a con in the fact that this currency is the favored payment method for criminals doing business online and on the dark web. Another possible con and major concern with cryptocurrency is its volatility. According to CoinDesk s analysis of the top 3 cryptocurrencies over the past year, Bitcoin has gone from a low of $991.51 per coin in 2/2017 to a high of $19,343.04 per coin in 12/2017 to $8,435.96 most recently on 2 /11/18. Ethereum, the second most popular cryptocurrency, has gone from a low of $12.68 in 2/2017 to a high of $1,304.86 in 1/2018 to $854.14 most recently on 2/11/18. LiteCoin, another less widely used cryptocurrency, was at a low of $42.58 in 8/17 to a high of $319.35 in 12/17 with the most recent value at $155.05 on 2/11/18 (CoinDesk 2018). With the increase in cryptocurrency futures trading, the volatility can be expected to become more drastic in the
  • 3. The Game Of Baseball Was Invented By Abner Doubleday Essay The game of baseball was invented by Abner Doubleday, in 1839 177 years ago from today. Baseball has been, and is still today, known as America s favorite pastime; additionally, due to its extensive history and partaking it monumental events, it can as well serve as a great topic to use in a story or poem. Poet Dale Ritterbusch, uses the game of baseball along with metaphors in his poem as a vehicle to write about a more substantial subject in poetry, the Vietnam War. His poem, Behind the Plate , can be simply over looked to one as just a poem about an overweight catcher; nonetheless, when closely examined, it has a deeper meaning. Authors Michael Cocchiarale and Scott Emmert, both agree with the statement that baseball is a great outlet for further analysis of a more important subject: Writers have seen sports, particularly baseball, as a useful vehicle for cultural and epistemological analysis (Cocchiarale). The poem, Behind the Plate , starts off with the line: Always the dumbest and fattest kid played catcher (Ritterbusch, Behind ); however, Dale Ritterbusch chose to start this poem with that statement for a reason it sets a tone for the rest of the poem to have a certain meaning. The fat catcher is known to specifically represent America in the Vietnam War; the catcher is fat because, well, in history catchers in baseball are often overweight. Additionally, in general one who is fat in sports often has a disadvantage, even in the case of being a catcher, and
  • 4. Satire Definition Political communication uses different tools to convey the message to the audience. The use of humour is one such tool for disseminating political news in an alternative way. Political humour is intended to evoke amusement about governance of society. Political satire is a humour technique widely used in political communication to express and ridicule the absurdities of its subjects in order to affect or prevent changes (Kaid and Holtz Bacha, 2007). The Oxford Dictionary defines satire as the use of humour, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticise people s stupidity or vices, particularly in the context of contemporary politics and other topical issues. Satire is a manner that blends a censorious attitude with humour and wit for humanity and the human condition. In modern times, the satire is used interchangeably with comedy and parody to make the audience laugh at the events. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The nature of satires can be formal or indirect. The formal satire is of two types: Juvenlian and Horatian. Juvenlian satire is angry, personal and bitter in nature and harshly targets the wrong doers and corrupt political leaders in the society. Horatian satire, on the other hand, is more gentle, tolerant and witty. It uses laughter to bring a positive change in the society (Ritgero, 2009). Indirect satire does not address the readers in direct form. Indirect satires are usually fictional narrative, in which the objects of the satire are characters who make themselves and their opinions ridiculous or obnoxious by what they think, say, and do, and are sometimes made even more ridiculous by the author s comments and the narrative style. Therefore, satires have the goal to strike the evil and bring out the reality and advocate for changes in
  • 5. NSA Surveillance Cons The presence of national surveillance in the United States is a widely debated topic, and there are many positives and negatives to both sides. Although it has been operating for such a lengthy time, the true actions of the NSA were revealed recently in the Snowden Leaks of 2013. Many state that the NSA is good and necessary because they have nothing to hide and because it will prevent future terrorist attacks. However, others argue that the surveillanceviolates the Fourth Amendment and is useless. Even though there appear to be many pros of having the NSA operate as they currently do, they should be disregarded because such intrusive surveillance is unlawful, racist, and ineffective. The Fourth Amendment has been morphed from a rigid ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The arguments of those who support the NSA have been refuted in the above paragraphs as they are illogical and unfounded. The NSA has twisted the Fourth Amendment so much that it is nearly unrecognizable, and it has even created new laws in order for the government to deem its actions as legal . Surveillance is also convincing agents to incriminate innocent American citizens just based on their religious affiliation. Agents are even willing to break laws in order to spy on certain Muslim Americans, despite having no evidence incriminating them. Also, data mining demands FBI agents to focus on collecting data and chasing false leads instead of investigating actual cases. This causes the government to lose credibility in their citizens eyes, causing a large portion of the public to withdraw their information from cloud computing companies, which will cost them up to $35 million of revenue loss. Furthermore, the collection of data actually hinders the NSA s counterrorism efforts because the NSA s analysts are unable to process the vast amount of information that is being spewed at them. The mass amount of data that the NSA has acquired is also a temptation to terrorists, thus making data collection even more useless. Ira Winkler, former NSA analyst, concludes, So, besides knowing that it s illegal,
  • 6. The Philosohpy of Immanuel Kant Immanuel Kant is referred to as the father of deontological ethics, which is also colloquially referred to as Kantianism, which provides a sophisticated explication of deontology. His philosophy embodies capitulating to one s maxim, which he beliefs that to be good, however, only if one s motives are unconditional and irrespective to external reason. The maxim is referred to as the individual s intrinsic duty or obligation to one s self or to others, which if applicable to everyone than it is congenial to the universal law. Mill believes in the praxis of pleasure to accumulate the zenith of happiness, but with the absent of pain. Motivation is irrelevant when regarding morality, because the result of one s actions determines the morality, which is why utilitarianism is often referred to as consequentialism. This philosophy is synonymous to a democracy in the sense that the majority hold the moral weight, One should act so as to promote the greatest happiness to the greatest number of those who will be affected by the act. There are two parts which constitute pleasure by mills standards, intellectual and bodily. Bodily pleasures are those that are stimulating to animals, because it does not involve the intellect. Humans, however, have facilities that are more evolved than that of nonhumans, so the intellectual pleasures are more appealing to humans. Intellectual pleasures are of more value than bodily. He compares the stimulation from the intellectual pleasures to that of an ethereal plant, meaning that one can easily adulterate the culmination of the aesthetic appreciation, due to societal influences
  • 7. Large Hail Analysis Upon reading The Frequency of Large Hail over the Contiguous United States by Schaefer et al., I discovered that the abstract was both informative and confusing. This abstract was about the quality of the hail occurrence records and the geographical tendencies that could be found in those records. While the abstract was interesting and highlighted flaws in the data collection method, the abstract itself could have used some improvements. The abstract began with detailing Stan Changnon s proclivity at studying hail occurrences. Following this was an explanation of the hail data collection process of the Storm Prediction Center (SPC). The authors then illustrated that records of hailfall were separated into discrete size categories that were compared to common objects. They acknowledged that the data records were subject to bias from technology and population distributions. For example, they found that updating weather radars increased hail reports, while urbanization biased reports away from rural areas. Schaefer et al. also showed that occurrences of small hail comprised the majority of all... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... could have improved in this extended abstract. On several occasions, they used abbreviations without definitions. Some of these included AMS , AUG , NCDC and NWS . Though these abbreviations would have been common knowledge in the meteorology community, they should have still been defined with their first use. Another off putting tendency was that the authors referred to Changnon by his first name, which was especially strange since they later referred to him by his last name. Furthermore, there were what appeared to be a few typographical errors in the abstract. For example, in Figures 4, 6, and 7, the nautical mile unit is abbreviated as nim instead of nmi . Additionally, the tense was not constant in the first paragraph. These changes would have been relative easy for the authors to
  • 8. The Effect Of Emotion Coaching On Children And Children... Parent emotion coaching helps children to integrate their right brain with their left brain for healthy development of emotion regulation. However, parents are required to be self aware of their own emotions for positive results when emotion coaching their children. Emotion coaching improves children s ability to self calm and label their feelings; in addition, it fosters emotional health as parents teach their children to express emotions especially when facing conflicting and difficult situations. Emotioncoaching programs assist both parents and children with emotion dysregulation by breaking their negative behavioral patterns resulting in improved behavioral conduct. Children diagnosed with ADHD and ODD experience beneficial results with parentemotion coaching. Introduction Emotion coaching assists parents in recognizing the significance of their children s emotions by being receptive and accepting through spoken directives as children learn how to appropriately express and cope with their own emotions (Dunsmore, Booker, Ollendick, 2013). In addition, emotion coaching works when parents are equipped with self awareness of their own emotions and that of their children (Lauw, Havighurst, Wilson, Harley, Northam, 2014). These parents understand the importance of spending time with their children to build the bridge of intimacy while assisting in the development of placing names on emotions and teaching self comforting, empathy towards others, and setting
  • 9. Academic Achievement And Functional Performance As I have reviewed the information about Ana, it can be understood that she has areas of weaknesses and strengths, and often does not want to attend school for various reasons. It is through the presentation and implementation of the Present Level of Academic Achievement and Functional Performance that measurable goals, and other helpful skills can be identified and carried out to help better her educational journey. From the area of classroom teacher input, of the case study information, some of Ana s strengths are being able to write complete sentences, being able to independently a read a seventh grade text with a comprehension of 80%, and reading 40WPM correctly at grade level. Whereas according to the Woodcock Johnson III Tests of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While many know that home is the foundation and can be helpful to the educational process, Ana doesn t come from a strong home. She has limited contact with her father, and her mother became pregnant while in high school, and aside from graduating from high school she had to obtain her GED. Now, her mother is working full time to support her and her daughter. However, as I read closely, I inferred that there were others inside Ana s family, besides her mother, whom were not successful in their educational journey due to the statement from the background information within the case as it states, Her mother wants Ana to finish school, as he wants her to be different from other family members. To some, that can be a clear indication that at this point in Ana s educational journey her mother has started to notice of the her past traits, as well as other family members actions that lead them to obtaining a GED or possibly even dropping out. Scott also committed Wal Mart to three aspirational goals: To be supplied 100 percent by renewable energy, to create zero waste, and to sell products that sustain our resources and the environment. To meet those goals, Wal Mart would seek to transform its supply chain, in cooperation with suppliers and environmental nonprofit organizations. In addition, Mr. Scott said that as the largest buyer of manufactured goods in the world, Wal Mart has the power to encourage its more than 60,000 suppliers to adopt environmentally conscious business practices. Global warming is serious because it melts the ice cap, removes habitas, raises sea levels and many other negative effects. A good way to stop this environmental hazard is to use green energy. Instead of burning coal and natural gas, we can use more wind turbines, hydro electric dams and other green electricity options. We also need to research solar panels more, so we can make them more efficiant. If we start to do this, the c02 outtake would be significantly decreased and the world will be a better place to live

The Lottery, And Kurt Vonnegut Jr. A third person narration story is a separation or indirect involvement of a narrator with the action of a story, and this type of narration can influence the content and the theme of a story. A third person storyteller can sometimes be all seeing, also known as omniscient, or they can be limited meaning to adhere firmly to the viewpoint of a specific character or characters. Shirley Jacksons The Lottery and Kurt VonnegutJr. s Harrison Bergeronare two good examples of third person point of view stories. These two stories give the authors the liberty to influence their content and theme across to readers using third person narration without being biased. The third person point of view in Shirley Jackson s The Lottery demonstrates a remarkably unbiased narrator. The storyteller does not inquire into the direction of the minds of the characters or drift into their emotions or feelings. As the story unfolds, the narrator purely acknowledges the development of The Lottery. The reader only has information contributed by the outside perception of events in the story, and Jackson uses the narrator to increase the tension of the story. To obtain clues and possible explanations, this type of narration allows the reader to take a more active, committed role in the reading. The direction of the point of view guides the reader as an eyewitness to the story; it is up to the reader to judge the meaning of the physical phenomenon regarding the black box (Jackson 237)
