You can pay a credit repair company to fix your credit, but if you re willing to invest your time instead
of your cash then you can do it yourself without having to pay a professional. The only questions you
need to know before you get started are how much your time is worth to you, and how comfortable
you are with initiating and managing multiple credit profile related contacts via phone and email. You
will also need to be comfortable with reading and writing quasi legal documents. You can find
example correspondence online which can help you with this.
Step 1: Obtain Your Credit Reports
Your credit score is based on a combination of factors and information which is reported about you by
3rd parties to the 3 major credit reporting agencies. The major agencies we are concerned with are
Experian, Equifax and TransUnion. These three companies are the ones who are responsible for
publishing information about you onto your credit report, however they are not the ones responsible
for generating the information. A creditor, a collection agency or another company (known as

Charlie s Intelligance In Daniel Keyes Flowers For Algernon
Why did Charlie want to become smarter? Charlie Gordon wanted to be smarter so he got a brain
operation and he learned a lot faster than normal and then started loosing what he learned and what he
knew before the operation. In the story, Flowers for Algernon Daniel Keyes explains that a person
should not compare his/her intelligance with others.
Charlie supports the theme First, Charlie compaired his intelligance to other people he realized that he
was dumb compared to everyone. Then, Charlie compared himself to Algernon and noticed the rat was
smarter than him and he said i hate that rat. Joe Carp and Frank Reilly support the theme when they
compare their intelligence to charlie s. After, they realized they were smarter than Charlie,

George Whitefield Religion And Slavery
Many atrocious things were in motion during the 1700s in the New World. The English colonies of the
New World had an economy based on African slaves. English colonies had the biggest influx of
Africans. Not only were Africans effected by slavery, but so were many of the English settlers
themselves. Religion conflicted with the practice of slavery, which caused the colonists to in a sense
awaken and form new explicit opinions about religion. This caused previous conveyers of religion to
judge the new ways colonists were thinking about and acting out religion. This awakening in religion
was preached by many preachers. At the forefront of the movement was one such preacher known as
George Whitfield. Many other people during George ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

But further, if teaching slaves Christianity has such a bad influence upon their lives, why are you
desirous of having your children taught? Think you, they are any way better by nature than the poor
negroes? No, in no ways. Blacks are just as much, and no more, conceived and born in sin, as white
men are: both, if born and bred up here, I am persuaded are naturally capable of the same
improvement. (Whitefield, 4) In this quote Whitefield questions that if Christianity has such a bad
influence on the slaves, then why are colonists so eager to teach it to their offspring. George
Whitefield states that blacks are no more born into sin then white men. He believes that both races sin
equally.
George Whitefield played a massive role in the Great Awakening. He was an English minister that
used the local revivals of Edwards and the Tennants to create a Great Awakening within himself.
Whitefield then traveled across the Atlantic Ocean to spread his message to the English colonists.
When the colonists saw George Whitefield preach they would gather in large crowds. Many people
thought he looked angelic. He looked almost angelic; a young, slim, slender

Virtual Museum Of Japanese Arts
History The island nation of Japan, according to Virtual Museum of Japanese Arts (2016), has a rich
history that largely alternates between times of imperial and military control. The Jomon period,
which started in 10,000 BC, is the earliest instance of culture in Japan. This period transitioned into
the Yayoi period (300 BC), which, according to Columbia University s Dr. Heinrich (2009), featured a
more advanced agricultural society. Virtual Museum of Japanese Arts (2016) continues to describe the
Kofu period (300 710 AD), during which ancestors of the current Japanese imperial family founded
Japan s first unified state under the Yamato Court, and Buddhism was introduced in 552 AD. Japan s
first capital was established in Nara during the Nara Period (710 794 AD), and moved to Kyoto during
the Heian Period (794 1185 AD) when noble families started ruling in the emperor s name. During this
period, Japan s then Chinese dominated culture was replaced by an indigenous one (Virtual Museum
of Japanese Arts, 2016) described as a great flowering of classical Japanese culture (Heinrich, 2009,
para. 6) The Kamakura Period (1185 1333 AD) saw the imperial court overthrown by the the
Minamoto family, who started the Kamakura Shogunate era of rule that resulted in a vigorous, realistic
artistic style representative of the warrior spirit (Virtual Museum of Japanese Arts, 2016, para. 5). The

US Occupational Safety And Health Act (OSHA) Of 1970
Safety rights is a good thing to worry about because if you post a picture of someone on social media

Bipolar And The Bipolar Disorder
Bipolar is a disorder that has a severe impact on everyone that is around the person diagnosed. While
the individual may suffer from the disorder the most, others are right there with them. As of yet most
scientists tend to agree that there s no single cause for the bipolar disorder to form in an individual.
There are many different types of bipolar and each type has different symptoms. Bipolar disorder most
commonly develops in a person s early adult or late teen years. According to the article, What Is
Bipolar Disorder, at least half of all bipolar cases start before a person reaches the young age of
twenty five. There are four main types of bipolar: Bipolar 1 Disorder, Bipolar 2 Disorder, Bipolar
Disorder Not Otherwise Specified, and then there is Cyclothymic Disorder. Bipolar 1 Disorder is
easily defined by manic or mixed episodes occurring at a minimum of seven days and then depressive
episodes which can last about two weeks. Sometimes the episodes can be so severe that the person
may need to be hospitalized. Bipolar 2 Disorder is described as a pattern of hypomanic and depressive
behavior episodes without the full blown manic episodes. Bipolar Disorder Not Otherwise Specified,
also known as BP NOS, is used as a diagnosis when a person displays symptoms of the illness but
does not fit the criteria for a diagnosis of Bipolar 1 or Bipolar 2. Now the Cyclothymia Disorder is a
very mild form of Bipolar. There are hypomania and mild depressive episodes for a minimum of two

Theories Of Origin Of Species By Charles Darwin
The ancient thinkers based their understanding of psychology on a philosophical hypothesis. While
the ancient philosophers like Hobbes, Plato, Schopenhauer and the rest could describe and predict the
different behaviors and mental experiences, none of them could explain the reason behind the
particular behaviors. Charles Darwin with his ideas in the Origin of Species gave a new dimension to
the understanding of human and animal behavior and the field of psychology based on the foundation
of his evolutionary theory (Buss, (2009)).
Charles Darwin theories on life sciences and relation to psychology
The theories of evolution and natural selection proposed by Charles Darwin in his book Origin of
Species are considered to be one of the most important theories in the study of life sciences (Angell,
(n.d.)). Through his theories on evolution, Charles Darwin introduced the idea of a common ancestor
monkey from which the animals and human beings were descended. He proposed the idea that all of
the living beings or creatures on the planet earth had a singular or common set of genes (Darwin,
(1859)). From this theory, he developed the idea that all living beings had a common physical
appearance which could be grouped under the umbrella of comparative psychology (Frances, (2013)).
Darwin studied the human psychology in great detail and analyzed and interpreted the individual
differences which set an individual apart from the other humans despite the fact that they share the
same genetic constitution. This helped in understanding the similarities and the differences in the
behaviors of the human beings (Angell, (n.d.)). He introduced the ideas about the complexity of the
human nature which helped the scientists and psychologists in placing each individual separately and
apart from each other. Based on these theories and findings of Charles Darwin many scientists could
put together their assessments and evaluations about the science of human behavior. This helped the
scientists to expand their range of study in the field of human emotions, interactions, and social
communication and led to the development of evolutionary psychology (Frances, (2013)).

Risk Factors For Sudden Agitations For Adults After Being...
In this clinical report, the study investigates the risk factors for sudden agitations for adults after being
applied anesthesia for urological surgery. The report defined agitation as a sudden anxious state (Kim
2014). The study included the patients medical history to ensure that the incident of emergency
agitation was not linked to the patient. All the patients were undergoing urological studies. The
patients were separated into control and experimental groups. Next, each patient was given different
dosages of anesthesia. Afterwards, medical workers scored each patient from 1 10 on their level of
agitation . The resulting data showed a positive correlation between the amount of anesthesia applied
and the level of agitation in a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

In this research report, the report investigates the effect of ketamine, alfentanil, and oral midazolam on
preventing agitation in children. Contrary to the previous annotated bibliography, the study
investigates anesthesia that would prevent agitation. The study investigated 78 children undergoing
urological surgery. Each child was randomly assigned 2 mg/kg ketamine, 10 ug/kg alfentanil or 1 mL
of isotonic saline intranasally (Bilgen 2014). Researchers then determined the percentage of times the
child would become agitated. The data revealed that agitation decreased most for the group applied
with ketamine, and the least for the group applied with isotonic saline. Therefore, the study concludes
that applying ketamine is most effective for reducing agitation. Nevertheless, all three anesthesia
reduced agitation in children, albeit, in random amounts.
The study s strength were measuring a large sample (78 children), using different types of anesthesia
to reduce agitation, and randomly assigning different anesthesia to different children. One of the flaws
was limiting the study only to children. The study does not include how anesthesia would affect the
general population. This study is relevant to my research because it presents an example of the
benefits of anesthesia, showing

The themes of luck and fate in Erdrich s The Bingo Palace are apparent by the individual chapter titles
such as Lipsha s Luck, June s Luck, Lyman s Luck, Shawnee s Luck, Fleur s Luck, etc. Each chapter
appears to touch on what brand of luck each of the characters in the story has. Lipsha seemed to
believe that his life was controlled more by luck or fate rather than by his own will. Lipsha has his
luck changed from bad to good to bad again by his meetings with his dead mother. On the first
encounter, Lipsha s mother, Lucy appears to him in the casino where he works. She gives him a

Just like the clothing, the characteristics of military during the Battle of Hastings, differed from
current warfare. Soldiers dressed in heavy attire such as chains, helmets, and plated armor. This
warfare excluded guns such as AK47 assault rifles and shot guns; after all, these inventions waited

They stingily agreed to integrate. The main theme of the book was racial tension. The white folks
treated the black folks like they were dirt. Even older white folks treated the younger black children
like dirt. I do not understand how any adult could hit a child, especially because of their color. One
instance that really bothered me was when a white man almost raped Melba because she was black. It
was in 1954, immediately after Brown vs. the Board of Education decision had came down. After that
she said she was going to read the newspaper because she wanted to know when white men got angry.
And sometimes she had to spend her own nickel for it. Another theme throughout the book could be
determination. The nine children were determined to carry out integration. They did not give up. Some
older black folks in the neighborhood faulted the nine children for the actual attempt of integration.
They claimed that it made it harder than it already was to be black and living in Little Rock. For
example, Melba s neighbor Mrs. Floyd said to her after the first day at Central, Now You ve had your

Resistance Of Change And The Application For Nursing And...
Resistance to Change Change is inevitable and affects so many facets of life. Healthcare is
synonymous with change and is a revolving door for changes for very valid reasons. Leadership in
health care is pivotal. The strength of leadership has an unambiguous link to the quality of care and
the reputation of the profession. The paper will review the significance and literature surrounding the
topic of resistance to change and the application to nursing and leadership.
Significance to Leadership
Webster s Dictionary (2016) defines change as to become different; to make (someone or something)
different; to become something else. Many individuals embrace change and others resist change, but
working in the medical world it is inevitable that we will come in contact with change. Many times we
have all worked with someone who does things the old way. Why do they resist something new? In an
article by Dr. Alyn (2011), the reasons why people resist change were reviewed. People resist change
for the following reasons: they do not see how the change is beneficial, they don t recognize the
benefits are worth the investment to adopt change, and they weren t involved in the decisions (Alyn,
2011). Knowledge related to this rationale should provide insight for leaders as they prepare to
influence change.
This understanding is significant because leaders can focus their energy on these elements to help
motivate staff to move forward in a positive direction. Staff members

was founded on and maintained by notions of inequality, in which indentured servants and slaves
provided the necessary manpower for the development of a largely agricultural economy and the
settlement of an ever diminishing frontier. First and second generation whites began to equate race and
servitude as white indentured servitude waned and black slaves came to represent the primary source
of forced labor in the Americas. In the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As natural increase and an end to the importation of African slaves stabilized the slave population,
new generations of Creole slaves began to form a distinctive African American culture. At the same
time, most white slaveholders were now fourth or fifth generation masters who lived and worked near
their slaves and took a keen interest in their welfare and affairs. A new felt paternalism both improved
the physical treatment and condition of slaves and served to further restrict and dictate their lives. The
rise of evangelicalism in the 1830s provided Southern whites with a justification for demanding
obedience by focusing on individual piety and salvation in the hereafter; in the North, by contrast, that
new religious fervor became an impetus for social reform and empowered some whites to try to rid the
world of its many evils, including slavery. Slavery underwent significant changes as the country
moved from the colonial to the antebellum era. The American slavery of 1760 1861 was shaped by the
political, economic, and religious changes affecting the nation as a whole; the latter day manifestation
of slavery was both a major departure from and an indisputable product of the earlier institution.
Following the American Revolution, whites subscribed to new egalitarian notions of government and
liberty throughout the United States. By the time of Independence, slavery was an established facet of
American society, but the

Shahrazad as a Feminist
She, written by H Rider Haggard is a novel about two men Holly and his adoptive son, Leo who set
out to search for a mysterious queen named Ayesha who had killed her lover, Kallikrates. After finding
the queen, both of them hopelessly fall in love with her and remain in her control. Her legendary
beauty implies that no man can look up upon her and keep his own self control. On the other hand,
Arabian Nights is about a collection of Arabic short stories told by a woman named Shahrazad to her
lustful King. The King used to marry virgin women one every night and kill them the day after
because he was once cheated by his late wife. However, this series of killing ends when he weds
Shahrazad. Her generous nature to save other women in the kingdom is what motivates her to pursue
the marriage. The major themes from the two novels are heroism, courage and ever present sense of
danger. Ayesha and Shahrazad are two different women in different situations. Both of these characters
have shown the themes of female authority and feminine behaviour in their own ways. Feminism can
simply be explained as women being equals to men when it comes to intelligence, competence,
bravery and moral responsibility (Decter 45). Ayesha, a terrifying and dominant figure, uses her
beauty to seduce and have power over men, while Shahrazad uses her intelligence by telling tales to
teach the King lessons. In fact, most of female characters in the tales told by Shahrazad to the King

Prism In Heroes At War
The personal prism gives the people of the present an insight into, as stated by Edward Rothstein, the
deeply personal experience of the war of those who were in the war or impacted by the war regardless
of whether the effect was direct or indirect. The Visceral Reality is great for allowing people a look at
how different people were personally affected in a given time. As there were a lot of participants of
many different occupations, there exists many pieces of literature , memoirs, art, and pictures that
depict the personal experience of the war and, as Rothstein states, much of the knowledge and
perspectives we have of the war front and the experience of being in the trenches comes from the
individuals that participated in the war. A pitfall that lies within the personal prism perspective is that
more often than not, the narrow scope of view that the prism offers is such that doesn t fully contribute

High Risk Family Assessment and Health Promotion

High Risk Family Assessment and Health Promotion Assessing health needs is a fundamental nursing
skill. Unfortunately, many nurses only associate the assessment process to the individual patient they
are caring for and fail to assess and address the needs of the entire family. Performing a family
assessment is vital, especially when working with high risk individuals and groups. High risk families
can be defined as those families with a higher than expected risk for developing a particular disease or

To compound the issue, often the affected veteran will turn to high risk behaviors in an attempt to find
resolution or relief including smoking, social isolation, abuse of alcohol and drugs, and the display of
violent or aggressive behavior. Frequently, depression or other mental health issues arise. In a domino
effect, the high risk behavior frequently leads to unemployment, habitual drug or alcohol use, poor or
absent parenting, fractured family units, unsafe sex, participation in dangerous sports or driving, and
in some instances, suicide. Last, stress along with the indulgence of smoking and the consumption of
alcohol and drugs can also lead to chronic health issues including hypertension, stroke, cardiovascular
disease, diabetes, pulmonary disease, and digestive disorders.
Assessment and Theory Application Effective treatment of PTSD can only take place if the disorder is
recognized. Symptoms of PTSD are commonly divided into three defining sections: (1) reliving the
traumatic event, (2) detachment and avoidance, and (3) exaggerated responses (NCBI, 2010). When a
patient relives the traumatic event, it occurs in a manner in which it interferes with the normal process
of daily life. This can include recurring flashbacks or dreams and distressing memories, which
manifest negative physical reactions. Detachment and avoidance is demonstrated through loss of
interest in current living situation, avoidance of people or places that may

Onychomadesis Research Paper
Onychomadesis
Onychomadesis is the separation of the nail plate from the nail bed. It can often look like a more
severe case of Beau s Lines, and leaves the nails with a dull appearance. They will also have white
streaks down the length of them and feel very brittle. There is no discomfort, pain, or swelling with
this disease. A diagnosis is made through examination of the nail plate. The difference between
onychomadesis and Beau s Line s is that there is a complete stoppage of nail production with
onychomadesis. Onychomadesis may be a sign of a greater, underlying problem and is known to be
linked with Hand, Foot, and Mouth disease in children.
Causes
Onychomadesis occurs whenever the matrix is damaged and stops producing new cells. Localized
trauma can cause single digit onychomadesis, meaning it only occurs on one nail. Local trauma can be
any damage to the fingernail that harms the matrix. When the matrix is harmed, the fingernails are
unhealthy and will not grow. Multi digit onychomadesis suggests a systemic problem such as fever,
use of drugs, or viral infections (1 MD Edge). This disease can also present itself after chicken pox.
Onychomadesis is cause by a fungus in the family of Moniliacaea (3 Remedy Land).

Presidents Of Washington And Lincoln
Every four years, for decades and decades, U.S. citizens have been faced with the challenge of
deciding which presidential candidate they ll vote for. Sometimes presidents with severe deficiencies
in character have been elected, sometimes others lacking leadership skills and the ability to tackle the
problems and difficulties posed by the presidency. However, there have also been some presidents
who, though not without their flaws, have remained as a model of an ideal president to many people.
Washington and Lincoln are two of these presidents, who exemplified many admirable qualities as
leaders.
This year, voters will again have to choose who they think would be the most qualified candidate. But
before this can be determined, it has to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In addition, ideally, the president should not be someone who primarily desires the fame and power
that comes with the presidency. Instead, they should be someone who truly desires the good of the
country, even if it will make them less popular. Take George Washington, for example. He was already
a respected and well liked leader, but he did not want to assume the position of president. In his
inaugural speech, he said, On the one hand, I was summoned by my Country, whose voice I can never
hear but with veneration and love, from a retreat which I had chosen with the fondest predilection,
and, in my flattering hopes, with an immutable decision, as the asylum of my declining years...
(Washington). He then went on to express how insufficient he felt for the task of being president.
It is common for presidents to arrive as potential candidates after engaging in other major
undertakings, political or otherwise. The third qualification for a president, then, is that they should
have an honorable reputation and past history. Tied in with this, is the criterion that the president
should have had prior positive leadership experience, where they acted honorably and did not do
things such as use bribery or engage in questionable practices. It should also be easy for them to gain
the respect of the people.
The president should also be a good problem solver, should be knowledgeable in the laws and policies
of the country,

Jimmy And Kiowa Mental Loss
Emotional baggage plays an important role in everyone s life; it can help you cope in stressful
situations, but it can also have negative effects on your mental state. In The Things They Carried by
Tim O Brien, Jimmy Cross and Kiowa are drafted into the ongoing war with Vietnam; along with the
struggle of this hallowing self journey they each have emotional baggage that they carry within
themselves. In the novel, O Brien demonstrates through Jimmy and Kiowa that their emotional
baggage allows them to have a connection to home, gives them a reason to continue fighting, and lets
them grieve over the friends they lost in the war. Jimmy Cross and Kiowa each have emotional

dishonor on their families if they abandon post. The men are afraid that they will die but they would

Carol Ann Duffy Valentine
Examine the way Carol Ann Duffy presents relationships in Valentine . Refer to other poems about
relationships in your answer.
This essay will be exploring the use of language and imagery in the poem Valentine by Carol Ann
Duffy to emphasise certain emotions within the text. This poem refers to the dark side of love and
relationships several times, for example; Its fierce kiss will stay on your lips. This creates a different
atmosphere to the stereotypical love poems, which are known for their mention of red roses and satin
hearts. Although the title gives us an impression of a clichƩ filled poem, as we continue reading, the
poem seems like more of a warning than an encouragement to involve oneself in relationships and
commitment, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The use of the detached word Lethal in the final stanza suggests that this is the core to the emotion of
love, and the surface to the surrounding layers is red roses and satin hearts.
We can compare Valentine to Sonnet 18 written by William Shakespeare and Sonnet 43 by Elizabeth
Barrett Browning. Despite having to perhaps read more deeply into Sonnet 18 to understand its
purpose, we can see from the first line; Shall I compare thee to a summer s day? that it is of a romantic
genre. This line can also be linked to Romeo and Juliet perhaps suggesting that Shakespeare has
emotional attachments to the message he is attempting to articulate, as he uses this motive in more
than one of his pieces. Whilst the opening greets us with a warm welcome and the perception that it
will continue to express a contented vibe, a turning point of But... is introduced. It then goes on to use
immortality as a comparison to relationships, for example; Nor shall Death brag thou wander st in his
shade. This mention of demise can also be associated with the plot of Romeo and Juliet supporting the
point made earlier. Giving the inanimate object of Death a capital letter is a use of personification that
proposes the idea to the reader that death is living, and it is always something to be feared.
Sonnet 43 also grabs the reader s attention with a question that is later answered. The use of the

was Jack the Ripper? April 3rd, 1888, in the East End of London near the Whitechapel District, the
first of five of the most famous unsolved murder cases in history occurred. Emma Smith, a local

him horrified. He then saw two men walking through the same passageway, so he called them over.
They followed John Davis into the backyard of the building where they all witnessed the mutilated
body of Annie Chapman lying between the steps of the building and a wooden fence. Her head was
turned toward the house and her clothes had been hoisted above her waist just like the other victims.
Her hands were covered in blood, and her throat had been slashed. The three men go off to search for

Can Offensive Art Be Good Analysis

her opinion on this because it s a solid point, and it a point few can argue with. Katt Williams comes in
with a similar opinion but she says art should only be allowed if it has good intentions. I strongly
disagree with this because not all artists are going to making pieces with good intentions because most
art is fueled by emotion which in turn can have bad intentions. So what she says her I don t believe is

The Beginning Of The Xx
Introduction
The beginning of the XX century was marked by the struggle of Iran to maintain the national
independence in the face of Russian and British economic and colonial pressure and to save the
Persian culture. These attempts to preserve and resurrect national consciousness were skilfully used by
the revolutionary politicians in their struggle for power and the majority approval. The Western idea of
nationhood and the sense of belonging to a greater nation with similar linguistic and racial
characteristics were developed in post Napoleonic Europe and became crucial in the unification of
countries such as Italy and Germany whereas in Iran this process have partially resulted from the
reaction to the foreign influences. Likewise in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The character of this topic dictates to use historical comparative analysis of nationalism theory in Iran
at different points during the modernization reforms in the first half of XX century under Reza Shah
Pahlavi. To address this aim, the first section will look at the historical preconditions of nationalism in
Iran during the late Qajar dynastic rule and early years of Pahlavi s rule. Then it will focus on the
political roots of nationalism in Iran during the modernization by Reza Shah Pahlavi. The role of
education and propaganda as the main tools of the nationalism spread and development will be
discussed in the second section. The final section of this paper will defend the thesis that nationalism
was predominantly implanted idea from above by demonstrating the inconsistencies between the
modernizing nationalist doctrine and the Islamic nature and philosophy of Iranian population. This
paper will conclude that the nationalism as a state ideology was imposed in Iran by the constitutional
monarchy of Reza Shah Pahlavi and it used language, history and ethnicity in order to maintain the
public support.

workers that cross the bridge between worker and student and take advantage of the free classes. At
first I was interested mostly in the interactions between students and workers. Every time i walk into a

specific community. Like all discourse communities, there is a common vernacular or dialogue, that I
would like to understand a little more clearly. I want to learn more about it, and understand better the
work life balance of this commune of labourers. And how UC helps to better the environment. Does
UC take steps to make the environment comfortable and enjoyable, and do the employees enjoy their
job? Because what the workers get out of their jobs directly affects the community in and around UC
and Cincinnati at large. I learned more about the jobs and the university s role in these peoples lives. I
would like to see how the university helps to improve these workers lives. The university provides

The Influence Of Coffee In Roman Culture
The Romans, as they did with many Greek practices, first adopted and then fundamentally altered the
traditions and meanings behind wine drinking. No longer was wine a symbol of democracy and
developing philosophy, but instead of an ever increasing social, economic, and political divide. The
Greek ideal of consuming wine only to the point of creating interesting conversation had become less
important in Roman society, which some speculate is because wine was instead becoming a crutch
with which to ignore the daily struggles of Roman life. In the words of Roman author, Petronius, Ah
me, so wine lives longer than miserable man. So let us be merry. Wine is life.

While many Greek traditions were admittedly lost once Philip II of Macedonia conquered the poleis,
Greek thought and philosophy continued on, largely adopted by the Romans, expanding out to the rest
of Europe. With European colonization, these traditions spread to an enormous portion of the world,
with one notable example being the United States, who were so enamored with democracy that we
designed our entire political system around ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From its very beginnings coffee was a source of controversy, as can be expected almost anytime there
s change, especially significant change. Coffee came into common use as a substitute for alcohol in
Islamic areas, but many officials worried that the effects of coffee could be comparable to
intoxication. It was at this point that an important discovery was made. Yes, coffee influenced the
mind, but as opposed to the soporific and stupefying effects of alcohol, it actually increased
attentiveness. The other concern however was where the coffee was being consumed. Coffee houses
became social hotspots, but unlike the symposia or the convivia, the social circles included were not
restricted to the elites. The masses were talking, with discussions ranging from politics to petty gossip,
and soon this would spread into

Micro Invertebrate Species Richness At Flinders Lake
The effect of latitudinal distance from shoreline on micro invertebrate species richness at Flinders
University Lake.
Introduction:
Species diversity is characterised by the diversity within an ecological community (McGinley, 2014)
that incorporates both the total number of species in a region and the degree to which the abundance
of each of the species is similar; these concepts are termed species richness and species evenness
respectively. The Simpson s Index of Diversity is a measure of the biodiversity within a community
and is derived the number of species and their relative abundances (Knox et al., 2014). The Simpson s
Index of Diversity score ranges from 0 1; the higher the score indicates a higher diversity.

In total, there were six replicates for each habitat. The dependent variable was species richness.
Results:
The data suggests Habitat A (close to shore) had a greater species richness in comparison to Habitat B
(one meter from shore), whereby the mean scores are 5 Ā± 1.67 and 4.5 Ā±1.52 respectively (see Table
1.0). Figure 1.0 compares the distribution of data for both datasets and graphically illustrates the five
number summary. Habitat A s graph has a greater range than Habitat B, whereby 50% of the data from
Habitat A obtained a species richness value from 5 to 8. Conversely, 50% of Habitat B s dataset lies
within 4 and 6.
Figure 2.0 further supports the notion above, where the Simpson s Index of Diversity is greater in
Habitat A in comparison to Habitat B, with a difference of 0.22. From Figure 3.0, it is evident the
species Copepod is most abundant in both Habitats A and B, whereby the proportional abundances are
0.628 and 0.782 respectively.

Review of English Semester Essay
English 101 60 has taught me many things and has helped me grow and develop my skills as a writer.
It has taught me how to think more creatively and use clear concrete details. In the beginning of the
semester, our first writing assignment was a narrative journal entry that focused on writing about an
uninteresting moment from your life and making it interesting. This was a challenging assignment
because it was a broad topic that allowed the writers to take it in any direction. I remember thinking I
had no idea what I am going to write about. Once I was able to narrow down the ideas I started writing
what a traumatic experience I had six years ago. This was when I underwent the surgical procedure, to
remove my gallbladder. My main focus ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Once I found that topic, I was able to start writing the research paper, My group faced a couple of
challenges along the way. One of the biggest challenges we faced was all of us meeting the length
requirement because were all still in the beginning stages of the assignment. The workshop group was
a new experience for me because I have never worked with that many person, this kind of
overwhelmed me because there was so many opinion on one paper. The groups weakness was, our
lack of organization. Fortunately, we were able to make this up with all of us being very truthful
towards each other and not sugarcoating the revisions we suggested among our papers. We all
accomplished the beginning stages of writing our research papers and making sure everyone had their
thesis there. Over the semester I have been challenged and intrigued over and over by the content of
this course and the professor, who thought I could develop a fairly strong paper if it was not for all my
grammatical errors. It has been a very enlightening and enthralling experience that has taught me a
new way to write a paper. In high school there was only one way to write and that was it. I think that
this class is a great way for students to think out of the box, rather than having to be stuck. It allows
them to write more freely about a subject, and I am very thankful for that. I have learned many new
skills and improved the skills I already

Examples Of Calpurnia In Julius Caesar
Julius Caesar: Act II Scene II In William Shakespeare s, Julius Caesar Act II scene ii, both Calpurnia
and Decius Brutus are able to influence Caesar s mind. Forced to choose between his beautiful loving
wife, and a close friend, Caesar decides to ignore Calpurnia s request that he stays home, and follows
Decius Brutus to the Capitol. In the beginning of the act, Caesar is confident that nothing terrible will
occur today and does not believe that he is in any danger. However, Calpurnia worries about her
husband and tries to persuade him to remain at home with her. She describes several dark omens in
hopes of keeping Caesar due to fear, but is unsuccessful. Caesar s loyal servant also tries warning him
to not set forth, but the mighty Caesar ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Decius tries to convince Caesar that Rome will be prosperous, and will benefit greatly from Caesar s
reign. Decius Brutus cherry tops the subject by stating that if Caesar were to go, he would be crowned
king. After hearing Decius s explanation, Caesar realizes how foolish he was for believing his wife.
Caesar advances the plot by deciding that he will go to the Capitol, despite anything that Calpurnia
says. As Brutus prepares to leave, he openly greets the other conspirators, completely unaware of their
evil plans. Throughout the scene, three main characters, and five minor characters speak. Caesar
speaks the most, with a total of sixteen times. He speaks every other person, and usually talks for
several lines at a time. Calpurnia, talks a total of five times and, like Caesar, also speaks for several
lines. Decius Brutus speaks a total of four different times, and only says a few lines each time. The
servant, a minor character, speaks on three different occasions, but only for about two lines. Brutus, a
minor character in this scene, speaks twice and only talks for about one line each time. Trebonius,
Pubilus, and Antony all have but one line in which they

Spread of United States Culture through Technology Essay
Abstract
In today s society, the way in which information is spread drastically differs from that of yesterday,
especially in different parts of the world more specifically, the Commonwealth of Nations.
As the United States continues to dominate almost every aspect of the world, including culture, many
different nations scurry to keep up with them, sometimes adopting an identity which is in great
contrast to their own, and in many cases, shadow their own identity as a whole. With the ever
advancing technology, the spreading of U.S. culture seems to be easier, and this has many countries
worried. Hence, a reason or need to censor what enters the country via print, airwaves or Internet.

Some governments are uncomfortable with the fact that the United States seems to pose a better
lifestyle to their people and try to limit the amount of American shows imported, or the amount of
time the shows are viewed.
In Jamaica, for instance, there is currently one local television station, the JBC (Jamaica Broadcasting
Corporation). However, it does not broadcast until late afternoon (around 4 or 5 o clock). The first half
hour is cartoons (imported from the United States). Then, for the next two to three hours there is
nothing but local programs, including news, gardening and cooking shows, local sitcoms, the most
popular being Lime Tree Lane, Titus, and the long running Oliver at Large, all of which contain
Jamaican actors. The quality of the shows is shoddy mainly because there is not much of a budget and
resources are limited.
Most of the citizens especially those without a satellite do not see an American on television until later
in the evening (around 8 or 9 o clock), and it is only for a couple of hours, as the station quits
broadcasting for the day at around 11. The government does this in an attempt to lessen the influence
of American culture on their society.
In the Bahamas the story is a little different. There is one local television station, ZNS (Zephyr Nassau
Sunshine), however, most people own satellites and antennae, allowing them to receive more stations.
The government sees nothing wrong with this, and to some

The only questions you need to know before you get started are how much your time is worth to you, and how comfortable you are with initiating and managing multiple credit profile related contacts via phone and email. You will also need to be comfortable with reading and writing quasi legal documents. You can find example correspondence online which can help you with this. Step 1: Obtain Your Credit Reports Your credit score is based on a combination of factors and information which is reported about you by 3rd parties to the 3 major credit reporting agencies. The major agencies we are concerned with are Experian, Equifax and TransUnion. These three companies are the ones who are responsible for publishing information about you onto your credit report, however they are not the ones responsible for generating the information. • 4. George Whitefield Religion And Slavery Many atrocious things were in motion during the 1700s in the New World. The English colonies of the New World had an economy based on African slaves. English colonies had the biggest influx of Africans. Not only were Africans effected by slavery, but so were many of the English settlers themselves. Religion conflicted with the practice of slavery, which caused the colonists to in a sense awaken and form new explicit opinions about religion. This caused previous conveyers of religion to judge the new ways colonists were thinking about and acting out religion. This awakening in religion was preached by many preachers. At the forefront of the movement was one such preacher known as George Whitfield. Many other people during George ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This adds extra flare to his writing to give it a more intense meaning. But further, if teaching slaves Christianity has such a bad influence upon their lives, why are you desirous of having your children taught? Think you, they are any way better by nature than the poor negroes? No, in no ways. Blacks are just as much, and no more, conceived and born in sin, as white men are: both, if born and bred up here, I am persuaded are naturally capable of the same improvement. (Whitefield, 4) In this quote Whitefield questions that if Christianity has such a bad influence on the slaves, then why are colonists so eager to teach it to their offspring. George Whitefield states that blacks are no more born into sin then white men. He believes that both races sin equally. George Whitefield played a massive role in the Great Awakening. He was an English minister that used the local revivals of Edwards and the Tennants to create a Great Awakening within himself. Whitefield then traveled across the Atlantic Ocean to spread his message to the English colonists. When the colonists saw George Whitefield preach they would gather in large crowds. Virtual Museum Of Japanese Arts History The island nation of Japan, according to Virtual Museum of Japanese Arts (2016), has a rich history that largely alternates between times of imperial and military control. The Jomon period, which started in 10,000 BC, is the earliest instance of culture in Japan. This period transitioned into the Yayoi period (300 BC), which, according to Columbia University s Dr. Heinrich (2009), featured a more advanced agricultural society. Virtual Museum of Japanese Arts (2016) continues to describe the Kofu period (300 710 AD), during which ancestors of the current Japanese imperial family founded Japan s first unified state under the Yamato Court, and Buddhism was introduced in 552 AD. Japan s first capital was established in Nara during the Nara Period (710 794 AD), and moved to Kyoto during the Heian Period (794 1185 AD) when noble families started ruling in the emperor s name. During this period, Japan s then Chinese dominated culture was replaced by an indigenous one (Virtual Museum of Japanese Arts, 2016) described as a great flowering of classical Japanese culture (Heinrich, 2009, para. 6) The Kamakura Period (1185 1333 AD) saw the imperial court overthrown by the the Minamoto family, who started the Kamakura Shogunate era of rule that resulted in a vigorous, realistic artistic style representative of the warrior spirit (Virtual Museum of Japanese Arts, 2016, para. 5). While the individual may suffer from the disorder the most, others are right there with them. As of yet most scientists tend to agree that there s no single cause for the bipolar disorder to form in an individual. There are many different types of bipolar and each type has different symptoms. Bipolar disorder most commonly develops in a person s early adult or late teen years. According to the article, What Is Bipolar Disorder, at least half of all bipolar cases start before a person reaches the young age of twenty five. There are four main types of bipolar: Bipolar 1 Disorder, Bipolar 2 Disorder, Bipolar Disorder Not Otherwise Specified, and then there is Cyclothymic Disorder. Bipolar 1 Disorder is easily defined by manic or mixed episodes occurring at a minimum of seven days and then depressive episodes which can last about two weeks. Sometimes the episodes can be so severe that the person may need to be hospitalized. Bipolar 2 Disorder is described as a pattern of hypomanic and depressive behavior episodes without the full blown manic episodes. Bipolar Disorder Not Otherwise Specified, also known as BP NOS, is used as a diagnosis when a person displays symptoms of the illness but does not fit the criteria for a diagnosis of Bipolar 1 or Bipolar 2. • 10. Theories Of Origin Of Species By Charles Darwin The ancient thinkers based their understanding of psychology on a philosophical hypothesis. While the ancient philosophers like Hobbes, Plato, Schopenhauer and the rest could describe and predict the different behaviors and mental experiences, none of them could explain the reason behind the particular behaviors. Charles Darwin with his ideas in the Origin of Species gave a new dimension to the understanding of human and animal behavior and the field of psychology based on the foundation of his evolutionary theory (Buss, (2009)). Charles Darwin theories on life sciences and relation to psychology The theories of evolution and natural selection proposed by Charles Darwin in his book Origin of Species are considered to be one of the most important theories in the study of life sciences (Angell, (n.d.)). Through his theories on evolution, Charles Darwin introduced the idea of a common ancestor monkey from which the animals and human beings were descended. He proposed the idea that all of the living beings or creatures on the planet earth had a singular or common set of genes (Darwin, (1859)). From this theory, he developed the idea that all living beings had a common physical appearance which could be grouped under the umbrella of comparative psychology (Frances, (2013)). Darwin studied the human psychology in great detail and analyzed and interpreted the individual differences which set an individual apart from the other humans despite the fact that they share the same genetic constitution. This helped in understanding the similarities and the differences in the behaviors of the human beings (Angell, (n.d.)). He introduced the ideas about the complexity of the human nature which helped the scientists and psychologists in placing each individual separately and apart from each other. Based on these theories and findings of Charles Darwin many scientists could put together their assessments and evaluations about the science of human behavior. This helped the scientists to expand their range of study in the field of human emotions, interactions, and social communication and led to the development of evolutionary psychology (Frances, (2013)). All the patients were undergoing urological studies. The patients were separated into control and experimental groups. Next, each patient was given different dosages of anesthesia. In this research report, the report investigates the effect of ketamine, alfentanil, and oral midazolam on preventing agitation in children. Contrary to the previous annotated bibliography, the study investigates anesthesia that would prevent agitation. The study investigated 78 children undergoing urological surgery. Each child was randomly assigned 2 mg/kg ketamine, 10 ug/kg alfentanil or 1 mL of isotonic saline intranasally (Bilgen 2014). Researchers then determined the percentage of times the child would become agitated. The data revealed that agitation decreased most for the group applied with ketamine, and the least for the group applied with isotonic saline. Therefore, the study concludes that applying ketamine is most effective for reducing agitation. Nevertheless, all three anesthesia reduced agitation in children, albeit, in random amounts. The study s strength were measuring a large sample (78 children), using different types of anesthesia to reduce agitation, and randomly assigning different anesthesia to different children. One of the flaws was limiting the study only to children. The study does not include how anesthesia would affect the general population. Healthcare is synonymous with change and is a revolving door for changes for very valid reasons. Leadership in health care is pivotal. The strength of leadership has an unambiguous link to the quality of care and the reputation of the profession. The paper will review the significance and literature surrounding the topic of resistance to change and the application to nursing and leadership. Significance to Leadership Webster s Dictionary (2016) defines change as to become different; to make (someone or something) different; to become something else. Many individuals embrace change and others resist change, but working in the medical world it is inevitable that we will come in contact with change. Many times we have all worked with someone who does things the old way. Why do they resist something new? In an article by Dr. Alyn (2011), the reasons why people resist change were reviewed. People resist change for the following reasons: they do not see how the change is beneficial, they don t recognize the benefits are worth the investment to adopt change, and they weren t involved in the decisions (Alyn, 2011). Knowledge related to this rationale should provide insight for leaders as they prepare to influence change. This understanding is significant because leaders can focus their energy on these elements to help motivate staff to move forward in a positive direction. Staff members ... American Slavery Essay Enormous changes swept through nearly every facet of American society in the years between the American Revolution and the Civil War, and the institution of slavery was no exception to this rule. Prior to the Revolution, slavery existed in every American colony. At the same time, most white slaveholders were now fourth or fifth generation masters who lived and worked near their slaves and took a keen interest in their welfare and affairs. A new felt paternalism both improved the physical treatment and condition of slaves and served to further restrict and dictate their lives. The rise of evangelicalism in the 1830s provided Southern whites with a justification for demanding obedience by focusing on individual piety and salvation in the hereafter; in the North, by contrast, that new religious fervor became an impetus for social reform and empowered some whites to try to rid the world of its many evils, including slavery. Slavery underwent significant changes as the country moved from the colonial to the antebellum era. The American slavery of 1760 1861 was shaped by the political, economic, and religious changes affecting the nation as a whole; the latter day manifestation of slavery was both a major departure from and an indisputable product of the earlier institution. It can often look like a more severe case of Beau s Lines, and leaves the nails with a dull appearance. They will also have white streaks down the length of them and feel very brittle. There is no discomfort, pain, or swelling with this disease. A diagnosis is made through examination of the nail plate. The difference between onychomadesis and Beau s Line s is that there is a complete stoppage of nail production with onychomadesis. Onychomadesis may be a sign of a greater, underlying problem and is known to be linked with Hand, Foot, and Mouth disease in children. Causes Onychomadesis occurs whenever the matrix is damaged and stops producing new cells. Localized trauma can cause single digit onychomadesis, meaning it only occurs on one nail. Local trauma can be any damage to the fingernail that harms the matrix. When the matrix is harmed, the fingernails are unhealthy and will not grow. Multi digit onychomadesis suggests a systemic problem such as fever, use of drugs, or viral infections (1 MD Edge). This disease can also present itself after chicken pox. Sometimes presidents with severe deficiencies in character have been elected, sometimes others lacking leadership skills and the ability to tackle the problems and difficulties posed by the presidency. However, there have also been some presidents who, though not without their flaws, have remained as a model of an ideal president to many people. Washington and Lincoln are two of these presidents, who exemplified many admirable qualities as leaders. In addition, ideally, the president should not be someone who primarily desires the fame and power that comes with the presidency. Instead, they should be someone who truly desires the good of the country, even if it will make them less popular. Take George Washington, for example. He was already a respected and well liked leader, but he did not want to assume the position of president. In his inaugural speech, he said, On the one hand, I was summoned by my Country, whose voice I can never hear but with veneration and love, from a retreat which I had chosen with the fondest predilection, and, in my flattering hopes, with an immutable decision, as the asylum of my declining years... (Washington). He then went on to express how insufficient he felt for the task of being president. It is common for presidents to arrive as potential candidates after engaging in other major undertakings, political or otherwise. The third qualification for a president, then, is that they should have an honorable reputation and past history. Tied in with this, is the criterion that the president should have had prior positive leadership experience, where they acted honorably and did not do things such as use bribery or engage in questionable practices. It should also be easy for them to gain the respect of the people. The president should also be a good problem solver, should be knowledgeable in the laws and policies of the country, ... This essay will be exploring the use of language and imagery in the poem Valentine by Carol Ann Duffy to emphasise certain emotions within the text. This poem refers to the dark side of love and relationships several times, for example; Its fierce kiss will stay on your lips. This creates a different atmosphere to the stereotypical love poems, which are known for their mention of red roses and satin hearts. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The use of the detached word Lethal in the final stanza suggests that this is the core to the emotion of love, and the surface to the surrounding layers is red roses and satin hearts. We can compare Valentine to Sonnet 18 written by William Shakespeare and Sonnet 43 by Elizabeth Barrett Browning. Despite having to perhaps read more deeply into Sonnet 18 to understand its purpose, we can see from the first line; Shall I compare thee to a summer s day? that it is of a romantic genre. This line can also be linked to Romeo and Juliet perhaps suggesting that Shakespeare has emotional attachments to the message he is attempting to articulate, as he uses this motive in more than one of his pieces. It then goes on to use immortality as a comparison to relationships, for example; Nor shall Death brag thou wander st in his shade. This mention of demise can also be associated with the plot of Romeo and Juliet supporting the point made earlier. No longer was wine a symbol of democracy and developing philosophy, but instead of an ever increasing social, economic, and political divide. The Greek ideal of consuming wine only to the point of creating interesting conversation had become less important in Roman society, which some speculate is because wine was instead becoming a crutch with which to ignore the daily struggles of Roman life. Introduction: Species diversity is characterised by the diversity within an ecological community (McGinley, 2014) that incorporates both the total number of species in a region and the degree to which the abundance of each of the species is similar; these concepts are termed species richness and species evenness respectively. The Simpson s Index of Diversity is a measure of the biodiversity within a community and is derived the number of species and their relative abundances (Knox et al., 2014).
