Pearl Jam Against Ticketmaster
As indicated from the case, Pearl Jam filed a complaint alleging that Ticket Master is intending to
monopolize the ticket service industry and using its market dominance to charge exorbitant service
charges. According to the complaint, the service charges that Ticketmaster adds to tickets are
excessive and increases the ticket cost for their teenaged fans. Moreover, Ticket master had secured
exclusive contracts with most of the promoters and venue owners and hence, it was difficult for the
band to use the alternative methods of ticketing. ANALYSIS: The lawsuit initiated by the rock band
Pearl Jam against Ticketmaster was based on the antitrust law violations asserting that Ticketmaster
has a virtually absolute monopoly on the distribution of tickets to concerts. In 1991, Ticketmaster
purchased Ticketron, the largest competing ticket service and strengthened its position in the industry.
It also entered into exclusive contracts with venue owners and promoters to secure long term
arrangements with them inoder to better serve its clients. I believe, Ticketmaster did not exactly have a
monopoly as claimed by the Lawsuit. There were other small players in the market who were not
strong ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, the conflict created problems and affected performance of both the parties. In 1995, when
the band decided to go for their independent tour, they were not able to get big, established promoters
and secure popular venues for their shows. When a rock band goes on tour, they have to be selective
about the types of venues and number of sites they will play. Due to the issues such as weather and
security, Pearl Jam had to cancel several early concerts. Similarly, due to the ongoing antitrust
investigations, Ticket master also lost a huge business and was not able to secure summer Olympics

The Enlightenment Era, And The Romantic Era
The styles we call High Renaissance, Baroque style, Scientific Reformation, The Enlightenment Era,
and The Romantic Era are all shaped by historical forces, the most significant being the Protestant
Reformation s successful challenge to the spiritual and political power of the Church. Martin Luther,
son of a rural coal miner had a mass impact in all these eras but Scientific Reformation was more
prominent than the rest. Luther was a German monk and Professor of Theology at the University of
Wittenberg. Luther s studies were put on hold by a political crisis in Augustinians. He found himself
agitated due to the corruption and lack of spirituality he saw in Rome. He saw openly corrupt priests
who would taunt the rituals of their faith. Luther sparked the Reformation in 1517 by posting his 95
Theses on the door of the Castle Church in Wittenberg, Germany. The 95 theses were a list of
statements which expressed Luther s concerns about many Church practices. These Theses traveled
around Europe. He felt in a manner, that the church was not always right. He did not believe that the
Pope was spiritual heir to Saint peter. The Church known now as the Roman Catholic Church was
very powerful politically and spiritually in Western Europe. I believed that Martin Luther Help spark
the Scientific Era was due to the fact when he mad the 95Theses people began to second guess
themselves. People began to have changes in thought belief. I feel that many people gave up hope in

Two Party System in U.S. Essay example
The reemergence of the two party system in America during the early to mid 1800s was due greatly to
the battles for states rights and the economic issues of the time. These two topics were closely
associated with each other and they helped contributed to the political struggle between the Democrats
and the Whigs. The political divisions had occurred one part due to Jackson s veto of the re chartering
of the Bank of the United States, the Tariff of Abominations, and the disastrous effects the Panic of
1837 had on the economy. Jackson s veto of the Maysville Road Bill and South Carolina s
nullification of the Tariff of Abominations had an enormous effect on the separations of political
support as they pertained to states rights. These ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many harsh criticisms were formed about his plan and as a result, the conflict between the Whigs and
Democrats stiffened and increased the dissection between the two. These economic changes helped to
create political divisions, which ultimately led to a distinct two party system. Many politicians also
made attempts to either increase states rights or to increase those of the federal government. The
debate over states rights led to a further division in political ideologies and consequently strengthened
the two party system. One such debate was over the Maysville Road Bill. When Jackson vetoed the
bill to appropriate federal funds to repair an interstate road, it marked an enormous setback for
nationalism and also the American System. His states rights partiality angered Henry Clay and other
believers in the American system because the veto attacked one of the major components of the
system, a strong infrastructure including roads. Another issue dealing with the rights of the state
governments that divided the nation political was South Carolina s Ordinance of Nullification. In
reaction to the burden that the Tariff of Abominations placed upon the farmers of South Carolina, the
state utilized its right to nullify the federal law. In nullifying the tariff, South Carolina took a bold step
to declare its governmental rights. Jackson s hostile reaction to the South Carolinians created a
growing political division, strengthening the imminent separation

Apple and Their Innovations
Apple is referred to as the brand of innovation. It is known as a leading innovator which uses its brand
name, friendly interface and it design to reinvent and grow product into new or existing market. They
created the first smartphone back in 2007 and it was seen as the best information system created since
the mobile phone. There are many lessons that we learned from apple business model. The first one is
that Apple is no longer a product business but it is more about a platform business even though many
people see apple dependent on their bestseller the Iphone. The continuous development of the
platform potential is where the leadership of apple lies. For instance, the Iphone design didn t change
much since its launch but the hardware component are changing constantly as we can see in the
Iphone 5S where the major change is the A7 new chips and the capacity of displaying at 64 bits
instead of the 32 bits used by all its competitors. This strategy is very good for any company
competing in the technological industry as it helps focus more on their business transformation and
hardware innovation. For instance, Apple is building around its ecosystems and platforms all its
revenue streams, the different products in the chain and the different services they offer.
The second important innovation of Apple is their focus on product design. As we know design is a
necessity in a fierce market. However, it is not always seen as a success ingredient but more as a
commodity. For

Cultural Reflection Of My Culture
I come from a multicultural family, with two cultures that are very different from one another, Cuban
and German. Being exposed to such diversity I feel that I got a head start on understanding that people
s culture shapes who they are and how they think or behave. Growing up, I remember thinking to
myself the different ways in presenting a topic depending on which family member I was speaking to,
and even the conversations were different, because each culture valued something different. And even
when the values were the same, it was expressed in different ways. So, when the mini ethnography
project was assigned I started to think of all the components of my culture and thought it would be

She also explained to us that the northern and southern parts of Italy are viewed differently. Northern
Italians are stereotyped to be snobby and stuck up, while the southern Italians are stereotyped to be
free spirits or mafia members, specifically in Naples and Sicily. Something that I found interesting
was that here in The United States, and as well as in Germany, when someone eats pasta, it is
considered to be good manners to twirl the pasta using a spoon, however in Italy this is not the case. I
find it interesting how people believe this is how Italian s eat their pasta and it is not.
After we ate at the Italian restaurant Penny took us to Centro Commercial Managua which is a
Nicaraguan shopping center. It had Nicaraguan food, a pharmacy, and other stores to buy cloths and
other goods, such as cloths, and other little knick knacks. This shopping center is smaller than most
shopping centers in Miami however, it serves as a place to converse with friends and it might serve as
a little piece of home for Nicaraguans here in Miami. We went into one of the shops to buy Raspado,
which is like a Nicaraguan slushy, it was very refreshing, especially on a hot South Florida day. After,
we walked around and looked at the other shops while Penny talked about the Nicaraguan culture and
her family being a part of the Rama tribe in Nicaragua. The Rama come from the eastern coast of

The Impact of Agricultural Subsidies Essay
The Impact of Agricultural Subsidies The Impact of Agricultural Subsidies Many countries started to
negotiate Doha Development Agenda under the World Trade Organization (WTO) in 2001. In July
2004, members in WTO reached agreement to make a reform in agriculture. One of focused things is
to cut agricultural subsidies both in developed countries and developing countries. In recent several
years, millions of people from both developed and developing countries give in response to eliminate
agricultural subsidies. Agricultural subsidies should be eliminated because they distort free trade,
damage the local environment. The meaning of agricultural subsidies Agricultural subsidies, financial

(Cahill, C., amp; Legg, W., 1989 p. 17) Through the formulas people could easily get the PSEs. The
PSEs in most developed countries are positive. However, in most developing countries the PSEs could
be negative. Form Table 1 it shows the extent of agricultural subsidies in some developed countries.
The impact of agricultural subsidies Although agricultural subsidies contribute to stabilize the prices
of farm products and increase income of farmers, they also distort free trade and damage the local
environment. Trade: Domestic market Agricultural subsidies have a great impact on domestic market.
There is an example about the challenges in Quebec to show how agricultural subsidies distort the
domestic market. There are two main problems in Quebec in recent years. Many farmers are unable to
cover their expenses and many are becoming increasingly dependent on government subsidies
(Minardi, J. 2008 p .7). In Quebec, government through giving farmers agricultural subsidies executes
supply management to make a quota system to let domestic products more competitive. Not only
supply management, but also high tariff makes food from other countries cannot come into Quebec s
market. Therefore the local food prices are extreme high. However, there are many low income
households, which they use most of their money on food. They

The primary focus of HRM strategy is the manner in which the HR department aligns general
activities, policies and procedures with the opportunity imperatives of the organization. Such relevant
HRM expertise constitutes nothing less than a powerful strategic opportunity. Methodology The
original purpose of the audit s companion review of the literature was to find other empirical studies
of the airline industry regarding HRM practices, from an applied perspective, with which to compare
and contrast the results of the audit presented later in this article. None were found. This is consistent
with the findings of other researchers. M. L. Thomas (1997), author of the book, A Portfolio
Management Approach to Strategic Airline Planning, comments on the scarcity of research in the area
of airline management. In reviewing the literature on international aviation, it is clear that researchers
tend to analyze the industry at a macro level. Although it has gained much attention recently . . . the
topic of international commercial airline management suffers from a lack of theoretical and empirical
work, and the scarcity of literature from a microeconomic perspective. According to J. Eaton (2001),
author of the book, Globalization and Human Resource in the Airline Industry, research is particularly
difficult because Airline managers are even more secretive and defensive about academic research

Failure at Tyco International, Ltd. Tyco International Ltd is a diverse manufacturer who grew
tremendously in the 1990 s and early 2000 s. The company had big ambitions with an aggressive
program of acquisitions during this period where they spent an estimated $62 billion to purchase more
than 1,000 companies. However, unbeknownst to the shareholders of Tyco and the world, Tyco was
led by a management team and CEO (L. Dennis Kozlowski) that did not use wise or truthful business
practices and organizational behavior. In the following paper, I will examine the failure that occurred

Organizational behavior is concerned with the study of what people do in an organization and how
their behavior affects the organization s performance. (Robbins and Timothy, 2007, p. 10). A healthy
organization responds to globalization and increasing market share by understanding its foreign
assignments, people from different cultures, managing diversity, and foreign implications. Tyco
quickly made acquisitions and developed offshore networks that were managed by executives that did
not enforce an ethical code of behavior. Tyco falsified accounting records in order to meet U.S.
standards and profitability. Tyco set their sights on strategies that would improve growth and
investments, with disregard to any type of business code of ethics or standards. Complications
surfaced that the company was not handling money correctly and top management was to blame.
Either the company did not properly train their management (especially those who handled the
financial aspects of the business) or management was not governing themselves by company policies
and procedures that would make the business successful. It appears Kozlowski and his top executives
were able to persuade many employees to overlook company policies and procedures to pursue high
margins of profitability. This demonstrates that the organizational culture and management behavior
was overlooking their ethical obligations to the shareholder, company, and employees of Tyco. They
were willing to

The Tempest Critical Analysis
The Tempest is about an ousted Duke of Milan ,Prospero, who has been living in exile on a remote
island for the past twelve years with his daughter Miranda. He is a powerful magician, who happens to
be the master of Ariel and Caliban, and a guy who really likes his books. When Prospero s enemies
wash up on shore, he uses his black magic to seek revenge and restore himself to power. The Tempest
belongs to the genre of Elizabethan romance plays. It combines elements of tragedy with those of
romantic comedy, and like one of Shakespeare s plays previously, it asks deeper questions that are not
completely resolved at the end. The tone that seeps into the play is one of wonder, amazement, and
admiration. Mystery is still present , but the magic performed is not black and scary. The version that
seems to grasp my attention more, would have to be the Utah Valley University interpretation because
it takes Shakespeare s main purpose and tone but shows it in its own unique way. Furthermore, with
its silly drunkards, the play has a certain lightness to it and even the so called killers of the King tell
hilarious jokes and are lighthearted. But there is also the tone of revenge and reconciliation in the play.
We feel a revenge burning in Prospero while, at the same time, a wish for forgiveness and
reconciliation with those who have wronged him.
The Balinese production has a magical and mystical tone and is all caused by the effects the director
decided to use to help make the tone

The auditor must remain independent, in mind and in appearance, at all times. They should also
discuss this with the audit committee.
b) Examine how an audit committee could help to resolve this situation
One of the functions of an audit committee is to monitor the periodic reviews of the accounting and
financial reporting processes and systems of internal control that are conducted by the company s
independent auditors, financial and senior management and internal auditing department. So in this
case, the AC could review the company s internal control processes regarding following up on long
outstanding debtors and adherence to the credit terms granted to customers. If 6 months is way
overdue, and the internal auditors haven t picked this up, then there is a failure of the internal audit
function, as well as a failure of the accountant in following its own accounting policies. The AC has to
take a stand and either support the external auditors or give its reasons why it doesn t.
c) What are the professional rules regarding the provision of multiple services and how these rules
may be applied in this case?
Firms have traditionally provided to their assurance clients a range of non assurance services that are
consistent with their skills and expertise. Assurance clients value the benefits that derive from having
these firms, which have a good understanding of the business, bring their knowledge and skill to bear
in other areas.

Voltmeter Construction
ABSTRACT
The objective of this project is to design LCD digital oscilloscope for practical use. The basic concept
for the project involves reading the voltage signal at the input and displaying it on the screen of an
alphanumeric LCD. The input analog signals are supplied to the ADC(Analog to Digital Converter),
which are then sampled by it and the amplitude of the signal(voltage) is displayed on the LCD.
Device Components:
Microcontroller or processor:
We used Atmega16 an Atmel AVR series microcontroller. The processor clock was set to 11MHz
internal oscillator.
Analog to Digital Converter:
In this device we use Atmega16 s inbuilt analog to digital converter. It is a 10 bit ADC which uses the
in built reference voltage level of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As the name implies it uses analogue techniques throughout to create the pattern on the display.
Typically they use a cathode ray tube where the voltages on the x and y plats cause a dot on the screen
to move. In the horizontal direction this is controlled by the time base, whereas in the vertical
direction the deflection is proportional to the signal input. Essentially the signal is amplified and
applied to the Y plates of the cathode ray tube.
A cathode ray tube consists of a number of elements. There is an electron gun that generates an
electron beam that is fired along the length of the tube. This beam passes by deflection plates that are
used to deflect the beam, as a result of electrostatic attraction and repulsion, and finally the beam hits
a phosphor coating on the screen creating a small dot of light.
To assist in making the trace as clear as possible, intensity and focus controls are included. The focus
ensures that the dot that scans the screen remains as sharp as possible and in this way it can deliver a
clear trace. The intensity control is required because the intensity of the dot or trace varies according
to the speed at which the scan is made. Controlling the intensity enables a clear trace to be obtained.
When the scan is very slow the dot is seen to traverse the screen and it is difficult to visualize the

Phototropism can affect plant growth because the definition of phototropism is the growth movement
of a plant induced by a light stimulus. This causes the plant to face the direction of the light stimulus,
if the plant is illuminated on one side. However, if the plant grows in dark room or where there is

The Experience Of The Student Nurse Graduate
The experience of the student nurse graduate transition influences the importance as it will become
their desire to continue practising as a registered nurse (Cleary et al. 2011, 2013). Even though the
nursing degree s clinical practice is a compulsory element of the undergraduate nursing program, it
cannot be experienced from a registered nurse perspective, until nursing students have transitioned to
a registered nurse. This imposes a change in roles and different expectations which causes concerns
for student nurse. Buckenham (1994) reports that newly graduated nurses experience stress,

Whilst on clinical placement, I have observed registered nurses go against what is not based on
credible evidence based practice. I have also worked along side registered nurses who have not liked
being questioned on their practice. They demonstrate themselves as role models for younger
generations and a large knowledge in the health care profession. The biggest burdens discussed in
nursing literature that has shown to effects proficiency is that new graduate nurses have a lack in self
confidence (Pfaff, Baxter, Jack, Ploeg, 2014). This affects relationships between the health care
professionals and patients, resulting in a lack of patient advocacy (Pfaff, Baxter, Jack, Ploeg, 2014).
With a lack in self confidence it will affect my ability to make effective and critical decisions. In order
to overcome these challenges, I must commit myself to learning and keeping up with the advances in
the medicine industry (Lima, Newall, Kinney, Jordan, Hamilton, 2014). Many new graduates may feel
under prepared in their transition year, from starting the heavy workloads of their own patients, shift
work and responsibilities associated with the role as a registered nurse (Duchscher 2001; Chang and

Foreshadowing In The Tell Tale Heart
The Tell Tale Heart is a famous horror fiction by Edgar Allan Poe. Poe is regarded as an important
writer of suspense and terror tales. His stories are often composed of dark and terrifying atmosphere,
and The Tell Tale Heart is also expressing terror with the story of an insane man killing the old man
pitilessly. The narrator plans to kill the old man because of his vulture eye. He cruelly kills the old
man and buries him under the floor. In the story, the intense feeling is created through setting, skill of
foreshadowing and irony. First of all, the dark setting of the old man s room manifests terror in the
story. His room was as black as pitch with the thick darkness (for the windows were close fastened,
through fear of robbers), and so I knew that he could not see the opening of the door, .... (56 59). The
author directly portrays the dark scene of the old man s room as black pitch, and the word thick
emphasizes the deepness of the dark. The fact that the old man could see nothing because there s no
light makes the readers feel anxious. People depend on the light for their own protection, and they
instinctively feel fear when it gets dark around ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I heard all things in the heaven and in the earth. I heard many things in hell. (5 6). It is a delusion that
one can hear all things in the heaven and hell, but the narrator insists that he can hear those things.
This proves that the narrator is insane and makes readers get curious about the reason for the narrator s
insistence. If we think simply, heaven and hell are the main elements that are indicating death, so it is
logical to predict death in the story. Death is a main subject of horror and it creates a heavy
atmosphere in the story. Heavy atmosphere and the growing tension of death causes the emotion of
fear. In addition to foreshadowing, this story contains one more powerful constituent for the

Vitamins Are Vital to Your Health
L Vitamins Organic compounds needed * in the diet in small amounts to promote and regulate the
chemical reactions and processes needed for growth, reproduction, and the maintenance of health.
Vitamins are essential to your health. You only need very small quantities but if you
don t get enough your body cannot function optimally. Severe deficiencies cause debilitating diseases
but even marginal intakes can cause subtle changes that affect your health today and your risk of
chronic disease tomorrow. An organic substance is classified as a vitamin if lack of it in the diet causes
symptoms that are relieved by adding it back to the diet. The fact that the vitamins we eat in food are
essential to health seems simple and obvious, but it was not always so. For

Employee Motivation Is A Feedback Loop Between External...
Change management is a feedback loop between external and internal activities, outcomes and needs.
However, many companies pay more attention to external activities than internal activities their
structures are still too tall (Rodrigues, 2007, p.711). This is important as employee motivation is
positively correlated with customer satisfaction happy employees make happy customers (Rodrigues,
2007, p. 698). Success is not attainable in the absence of happy employees. Employees are the most

motivate employees (Bobic, 2003, p.245). Based on this, both theories have their place in the strategic
architecture of an organization. The following text will analyze the components of theories X and Y to
verify the added value of each. Theory X is based on the following assumptions.
It is a manager s job to drive and support motivation through the organization of resources, by
directing and controlling employee behavior (McGregor, 2000, p.2).
Humans by nature lack the ability to motivate themselves in the absence of the manager s pressure and
leadership (McGregor, 2000, p.2).
Without the intervention of management employee will only do the bare minimum required of them
(McGregor, 2000, p. 2).
Employees are lacking of ambition , disliking of responsibility and prefer to be led (McGregor, 2000,
p.2).
Employees will not willingly engage in activities which result in the achievement of organizational
needs in the absence of management s guidance as they are inherently self centered (McGregor, 2000,
p.2).
Employees are by nature resistant to change (McGregor, 2000, p.2).
Motivating factors are based on meeting the individual employees safety and physiological needs
(Bobic, 2003, p.244).

The Time I Gained To Read In High School
The earliest I have of myself reading is in early kindergarten. Vividly, I remember parking my butt
right in front of my decaying bookshelf. The white shelves was filled with skinny books placed in our
kitchen (at the time my family lived in a small apartment, so the entrance near the kitchen was the
only place to put it). At the time, I picked books of the bottom shelf and try to read the whole stack. I
absolutely loved reading when I was younger. Yet somehow, whether or not it was because I was
forced to read in school, or over a gradual slump my passion died out. Nevertheless, my younger self
was infatuated with reading, and it might as well be worth sharing.
Since kindergarten the biggest push over the course of the year was to read, and being the young, ...

The Military Professional Identity Is Defined Differently...
As Midshipmen at the United States Naval Academy, we are in the developmental phase on our way
to become the future leaders defined as military professionals. The military professional identity is
defined differently by everyone. I believe for one to embody the military professional identity, he or
she has to be a leader of character and ready to defend the nation. The four years spent at the Naval
Academy gives you the opportunity to develop and mold your physical, mental, and moral stature in
order to embody the military professional identity that one desires or believes is right. I believe that
one s character is partially developed based on their core values. I personally embody core values such
as dependability, honesty, and commitment. There are other core values that I would say are necessary
in order to fit the identity as a military professional, but those three values are the ones that define me
as a future leader in the military. A leader should be dependable at least. As a leader in the military,
you constantly will have subordinates who are facing trials and tribulations in which they will need a
leader that they can trust and depend on. That follows right into my next core value that is honesty.
Being honest is the only way to really earn someone s trust. An individual will only follow in an
environment where he or she knows that the one leading them is consistently honest. This
environment would include a leader that refrains from deception by lying or

Robert Browning s The Ring And The Book
Although the early part of Robert Browning s creative life was spent in comparative obscurity, he has
come to be regarded as one of the most important poets of the Victorian period. His dramatic
monologues and the psycho historical epic The Ring and the Book (1868 1869), a novel in verse, have
established him as a major figure in the history of English poetry. His claim to attention as a children s
writer is more modest, resting as it does almost entirely on one poem, The Pied Piper of Hamelin,
included almost as an afterthought in Bells and Pomegranites. No. III. Dramatic Lyrics (1842) and
evidently never highly regarded by its creator. Nevertheless, The Pied Piper moved quickly into the
canon of children s literature, where it has remained ever since, receiving the dubious honor (shared
by the fairy tales of Hans Christian Andersen and J.M. Barrie s Peter Pan, 1911) of appearing almost
as frequently in adapted versions as in the author s original. Browning was born on 7 May 1812 in
Camberwell, a middle class suburb of London; he was the only son of Robert Browning, a clerk in the
Bank of England, and a devoutly religious German Scotch mother, Sarah Anna Wiedemann Browning.
He had a sister, Sarianna, who like her parents was devoted to her poet brother. While Mrs. Browning
s piety and love of music are frequently cited as important influences on the poet s development, his
father s scholarly interests and unusual educational practices may have been equally

The Berlin Wall s Impact On Economic, Social And...
The Berlin wall had a highly significant impact on the economic, social and political relations between
West and East Europe. It stood from 1961 1989 as a physical reminder of that divide, a daily reminder
of the divide that still influences the nation today, and a physical barrier in which 138 East Germans
died trying to cross. So dire was the Berlin Wall that Heinrich Albertz, an aide to West Berlin Mayor,
compared it to as if; They are cutting up a city, cutting into living flesh without anesthesia . Thus it can
be observed that so high was its importance, that only after the Berlin wall was abolished in that the
cold war was finally coming to an end and so traumatising was its presence that Berlin has yet to fully
recover.
In order to come to a conclusion about the impact of the Berlin wall, one must first understand the
context of which it came to be. At the end of the second world war, the disintegration of German
central authority allowed allied powers to take control of Germany. During the February of 1945, the
allied victors held the Yalta conference, a committee focused on the dismemberment of Germany, in
order to come to a conclusion on the current German question . This can be regarded as the defining
moment of which the division between East and West Europe became apparent. As victors struggled
with their losses and the defeated nations lost international favor, the Soviet Union and USA began a
power struggle to become the new global powerhouse. The Potsdam

Veterans Day Research Paper
Whether it is in an office, on a battlefield, or at a switchboard, it takes a hero to be a veteran. Bravery
and patriotism are characteristics of veterans. Veterans Day was created to honor all people who have
served, fought, and died for our country and our freedom. People who served in the military and gave
their services, risked their lives, and lost their lives for us are all veterans: They deserve our thanks.
When people think of veterans, a word that might come to their mind would be hero. Soldiers leave
their homes, families, and friends to fight for our country and the freedom we believe in so strongly. If
a brother, cousin, uncle, or friend gets killed during a battle, veterans keep going. They need to wait
until a later time to grieve, cry, and mourn their lost companions. Soldiers endure loss, blistering cold,
scorching heat, trench foot, and more. This is what makes up a true hero. ... Show more content on

The English Common Law System
The English common law system is obliged to comply with the rights and obligations under the
Human Rights Act Convention. Even though they are not bound by it has been advised by the House
of Lords to harmonise or comply with the Conventions, on a equivalent basis which is no more, but
certainly no less . The Convention does not guarantee damages for violations that have occurred
between private parties, it only protects them against the public authorities, thus only binding states.

Therefore the s. 6 under the HRA Convention maintains an indirect horizontal effect rather than a
horizontal one. It was presumed that a uniform approach to be upheld by the UK courts, but this
approach was only in theory that HRA would be somehow incorporated into the domestic law and
where necessary could be reformed by a judiciary, and in practice the opposite had occurred.
Prior to 1998, under the common law right to privacy did not reinforce a failure to compensate
individuals for breach of their privacy. After the HRA came into force, the first critical case was faced
by the English courts in the case of Catherine Zeta Jones case concluded there was a breach of
confidence. The reason that lay behind this harmonisation was that protection for individual privacy
was the equivalent of protecting individual autonomy established by the omissions principle. In this
area of law, the courts have provided a remedy at a domestic level by incorporating s.7 of the HRA.
It is quite contradictory that the common law now mirrors the Conventions rights with regards to
breach of confidence, but takes a more conservative approach whilst dealing with a more crucial
matter in relating to article 2. Where without a right to life a secondary right to privacy is null. In most

Analysis On Drugs And Legalization
Drugs and Legalization
Since early on man has been interested in the consumption of substances that altered the mind or ones
feeling. The consumption of substances can be broken down into legal and illegal substances. The
question is, who are we to label certain substances illegal and prohibit others from using them by
creating penalties for their use?
If the importation, sale and use of drugs were legal, the open competition would eliminate the
profitability of drug dealing. Without the economic incentive to commit violent crimes, the violence of
drug dealing would be dramatically reduced. In addition to the elimination of the economic incentive,
the health risk factor would ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since it is the Americans right to privacy, personal choice, and individual freedom.
Marijuana, in addition to not being a dangerous drug, has been documented to have practical medical
purposes and environmental purposes. The legalization of marijuana, a drug that the criminalization of
is so impossible to enforce, would not only not harm society, but could actually benefit it. The
question then becomes, how should legalization be approached? In addition to legalization, the
government must also educate people of the affects.
Legalizing drugs would allow them to be available to those who would benefit from their medical use
and those who would like to use them as recreational drugs much like alcohol and tobacco are.
Research would also be encouraged as scientists could search for new and practical uses of drugs.
There are many wonderful uses of drugs that have not yet been identified or perfected because of the
strict laws against them. With expanded research, we could discover these new possibilities.
Of course, some restrictions would have to be set. Likely, an age restriction would have to be adopted.
Restricting the use of drugs to adults only, and educating the youth of the potential dangers should

The Importance Of Security In War
The Jaish al Mahdi understood and exploited U.S. public opinion. This incident demonstrated that
adversaries can achieve success by conducting influence operations. China identifies cyberspace as a
key domain to project power and dominance. Chinese military strategists believe that information
operations are directly linked to success or defeat in war and priority should be given to launching
preemptive attacks. In 2005, China infiltrated numerous secure government systems and successfully
retrieved more than ten terabytes of data. The following year, China attacked a total of forty nine U.S.
companies and government agencies. A number of those companies were involved in the production
of the F 35 and other classified military weapons. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The principles within the strategy can be linked to information as an instrument of national power.
However, existing U.S. strategies have three shortfalls: 1) scope (addressing all dimensions in the
information environment), 2) deterrence (defining acts of war), and 3) whole of nation approach. The
first shortfall is that the scope must be broader. U.S. strategies sufficiently address threats to the
physical and informational dimensions within the information environment. However, the U.S. lacks a
strategy that identifies challenges and threats in the cognitive dimension within the information
environment. Adversaries, such as ISIS, are effectively utilizing influence campaigns to advance their
agenda by manipulation of the values, perceptions, and beliefs of the U.S. public and other target
audiences. Information, or misinformation, is a primary means to shape global opinions. The U.S.
continues to yield the initiative in influence operations and function in a reactionary capacity. Strategic
communication messaging to enhance U.S. credibility and legitimacy have been slow and at times
ineffective. The behavior data generated through social media has enabled researchers to understand
groups, globally making it easier to spread and

William Blake s The Chimney Sweep and Songs of Innocence and Experience
In this essay I will attempt to analyse, compare and contrast the poems The Chimney Sweep from both
Songs of Experience and Songs of Innocence which were both written by William Blake in 1790 92
and 1789 respectively. These two poems were amalgamated in 1794 to create a new collection called
Songs of Innocence and Experience .
I will be looking at what Blake says and hints at concerning the two contrary states of the human soul
in the two poems as well as looking at the message Blake is trying to convey to the reader. As the
poems are written regarding the same subject, that is a chimney sweep, I will be looking at how they

This was because of the huge power the rich and wealthy possessed; they could pay people less and
lay workers off without the fear of them taking mass industrial action because people were so
desperate for the money and would not have even have thought have taking such action. Over the
years life got harder for the working class year by year and was basically a constant battle to stay
alive, which many were losing. Due to the fact that people were so poor, the burden of contributing to
the family income was placed on children even earlier and this quite often meant working as a
chimney sweep from the age of four, a topic explored in Blake s two poems. Life expectancy was
short and if you were unfortunate enough to be a chimney sweep you were seen to be doing well if
you got past the age of ten. Money generally means power and at that time in the world it was
especially true and actually to a greater degree and so the more money you had the more power and
authority you had and if you were rich enough you could not only have an influence on the area of the
country you lived in but also be influential in the running of the country. Consequently due to the
totally disproportionate spread of power within the country, people who were very poor had absolutely

Functional Analysis Rationale For the indirect assessment project, The Board Certified Behavior
Analyst (BCBA) and Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) said that the two most concerning
problem behaviors that occur at the clinic were elopement and verbal refusal. After conducting the
indirect assessment, the data was inconclusive and in my presentation, I suggested doing a full
functional analysis to determine the function of the behaviors. Out of the two behaviors, I have chosen
verbal refusal for the functional analysis project because it occurs at a higher rate than elopement.

The Natural Hazards Of Earthquakes
The Natural Hazard
Earthquakes as a natural hazard have occurred way too often, so now we understand them perfectly.
The intensity or magnitude of earthquakes are measured by a seismograph. It is measured using the
Richter scale. Earthquakes with magnitudes lower than 03 are hardly noticeable but those that are 07
or above tend to cause major damages to the human settlements. Time and again through history, there
have been incidents of earthquakes destroying towns and cities. One such historic earthquake was the
infamous 1906 San Francisco Earthquake. Earthquakes usually cause the shaking and displacement of
the land which causes buildings to fall down and cause casualties. If close to the ocean, they might
even cause tsunamis. The science of an earthquake is such that the tectonic plates under the ground
cause strain and they move, causing earthquakes. Earthquakes usually occur naturally but in some rare
cases they might even be a result of human activities (Daily, 2017). Some earthquakes are also caused
by volcanic activity, landslides or even events such as mine blasts and nuclear experiments.
Earthquakes can be caused by volcanic activity, tectonic plates activity or even explosions. The one
that occurred in San Francisco was a result of tectonic plate activity and most of the destruction was
caused after the earthquake finished. This earthquake occurred in different forms, first there was the
foreshock which was actually a small earthquake that occurs at the beginning

Comparison Of Chicago, New York City And Detroit
Chicago, New York City, and Detroit
Today, Detroit, New York City and Chicago have many similarities They re highly populated cities
with high crime rates, many homeless people, noisy streets and terrible traffic. In contrast, they attract
many tourists with their tall skyscrapers, and their famous attractions. As well as similarities, there s
also, many differences. Today, Chicago and New York City are known for having many job
opportunities and luring people in with promising careers. Whereas in Detroit, it s known to be quite
hard to find employment. These cities have gone on a long journey to get to where they re at today. I ll
be discussing Detroit s history from around 1880 to 1910 and comparing it to the way Chicago and
New York City was in the book, Sister Carrie written by Theodore Dreiser.
From 1880 to 1910 Detroit changed dramatically. The city was under development and was on its way
to becoming a successful, and higher populated, city. According to Detroit Historical Society, in 1880
Detroit s population consisted of over 100,000 citizens. At this time, Detroit also had a diverse
community of many different nationalities and it was known as an immigrant city.
Detroit Historical Society also states that by 1890, Detroit s population nearly doubled reaching over
200,000. Detroit, at this time, made its ranking in the 15th largest populated city in the nation. Many
people of different backgrounds from around the world came to settle here. By 1901,

grocery store. Also think what could happen if the heating system your workers installed in someone s
house quit working on the coldest day of winter, or if a major fire would burn a large portion the
clothing in your sporting goods store . You would be protected in each of the incidents, from possible
lawsuits, and the damages you might incur from a disaster, if your small or large business has business

This is because the risk of a building contractor being responsible for someone being injured is
greater, and when this happens, damages are typically more. As an example, medical costs for an
injury might be $200,000 to $300,000, and legal fees could total more than $100,000. If your coverage
is for only $300,000, you might owe from $50,000 to $100,000 out of pocket. This is why someone
with a higher risk of owing expensive damages who has business liability insurance might want to
also add umbrella coverage or excess insurance, while a web designer might not need as much
insurance. Business liability insurance also protects you against other types of clams against your
company: Copyright infringement. Someone can owe from $200 to $150,000 for each work infringed.
Advertising injures. This could include damages caused by slander, libel, and invasion of privacy.
Reputation damages. In this type of claim, someone might sue you, claiming his or her character was

punitive damages and assumed damages, or damages a plaintive is assumed to have suffered if his
reputation has been damaged, or if he has experienced mortification or shame as a result of something

First Crusades Dbq
Before the first Crusade, Western Europe had become a place with not much progress, confined from
other civilizations and hidden in the Dark Ages that had gone down on Western Christendom after the
collapse of the Roman Empire. At the time of the first Crusade, the Middle East and Western Europe
were greatly divided. The Crusades contributed to the end of Western Europe s global isolation by
introducing an era in which Western Europe came into direct contact with the large trade routes that
united their civilization with Asia.
The Crusades introduced many Western Europeans to trading. Many goods flowed along these trade
routes such as spices, silk, cotton, paper, medicines and other endless amounts of products. The trade
created a high demand ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These reasons resulted in what became a prosperous first crusade led by the Pope himself. The
political reasons ranged from a desire for adventure to the land of Jerusalem, wanting to gain more
power, and other economic rationales. By the end of the first crusade, the Crusaders were victorious in
stripping more than forty silver candelabra and more than twenty gold ones in the Dome of the Rock.
The economic reasons included gaining more wealth, land, riches and multiple goods. The Pope
claims that the Crusaders must ...rush quickly as [they] can to the defence of the Eastern Church and
that it s ...a beautiful thing to die for Christ... . The religious reasons the Crusaders thought to be true
was that the crusade was God s call for the Christian brothers to accomplish their attack on the
Muslims. The Muslims were filled with grief as the Arab Historian, Ibn al Athir, recalls that ...the
Franks slaughtered more than 70,000 people...women and children taken prisoner, the homes
pillaged... . Unlike the rejoice in the documents and articles from the Crusaders perspectives, the
Muslim perspective felt sorrow for those who died innocently. The Crusaders destroyed an extensive
portion the Jerusalem land and population, taking away valuable riches and treasures from the Holy
Land. While later crusades failed to accomplish that of the crusade led by Pope Urban III, I greatly
believe that the first crusade was a great

The Philadelphia 76er Analysis
The Philadelphia 76ers this past season has was the worst team in the NBA. Not winning a
championship since 1983, they seemed to come close to the title throughout the years. Now, under
new management, the Sixers began to use applications of competitive analytics to step back out onto
the playing field (or court). Using the key points as described in Thomas Davenports Analytics of
Competing, the 76ers seem to be starting a new era of basketball and it all has to do with analytics.
The introduction of sabermetrics in baseball has driven many teams to reevaluate their analytics, but
baseball is not the only sport that has developed an interest in applying analytics (Sabermetrics, 2015).
Basketball is slowly becoming the next top sport for analytics, and a large reason has to of with Sam
Hinkie. Sam Hinkie is the general manager for the Philadelphia 76ers. A team that has been ... Show

The Analytical DELTA characterizes a company s progress within each stage and the 76ers has almost
has every aspect of the DELTA. First success factor of the DELTA is data and the relentless search for
new data and metrics (Davenport Harris, 2007). In the 2013 14 season, the 76ers experienced a record
tying 26 game losing streak, which resulted in a complete tear down of the team. Hinkie needed to
start from scratch, and with this he took the chance of releasing many top players for better picks
infuture drafts. They were able to accumulate 15 second round picks for the next six drafts. An
example of a good business move using data is using the points per possession statistics to determine a
good player for the team. In basketball, a coach wants the most points while holding onto the ball the
longest. If data reads a player is larger but has little time of possession, then it might not be smart to
put in that player. The data can also determine if a player is undervalued by the point per possession

Abstract Implementing pricing strategy decisions requires properly addressing organizational issues
related to how decisions are made and enforced as well as motivational issues that encourage
managers to engage in more profitable behaviors. Pricing decisions are strategic and critical to the
success of your company. The prices you charge for your products affect demand, thus causing a
ripple effect across your company s output, revenues, costs, and income. With a sound pricing
strategy, your company is in a better ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If there are separate managers for these functional areas, each should play a role in |
|building the pricing strategy. If a single individual serves in all these roles, then that individual must
be sure to wear all the hats while |

make them highly effective. |
|Pricing decisions are made on two levels. Typically, pricing strategy is developed with a long term
view to price levels and positioning, and |
|then overlaid with day to day pricing decisions of a more tactical nature. |
|Effective pricing requires that the long term pricing strategy be supported by the day today tactical
decisions; however, that does not |

the same person or at the same level within|

Wisdom In Siddhartha
As one matures through life he gets wiser and more knowledgeable. As Siddhartha s long life journey
was coming to a close, he too was becoming wiser and more knowledgeable. Siddhartha learned that
if you search your whole life for wisdom you will miss many steps along the way. Siddhartha s
revelation between the difference of wisdom and knowledge corresponds with his other discovery
which is the difference between finding and seeking. This has been the guide for his way of life. These
differences he has discovered are the main reasons for having several teachers and a radical lifestyle.
Furthermore, this revelation has made a distinct separation between Siddhartha and Govinda. It
highlights the major difference between Govinda and Buddhism ... Show more content on

Govinda, who has spent time with both the Illustrious One and Siddhartha, thought his teachings were
strange saying, His ideas may be strange, his words may sound foolish, but his glance and his hand,
his skin and his hair, all radiate a purity, peace, serenity, gentleness and saintliness which I have never
seen in any man since the recent death of our illustrious teacher (148). This shows even though
Govinda thinks Siddhartha methods are strange compared to Gautama, he believes Siddhartha has
without a doubt reached enlightenment. Siddhartha believes Gautama had only taught Govinda to be
knowledgeable, while he himself has become wise. This is because the Illustrious one only taught
Govinda how to seek which should be the destination and not what you learn on your journey. This is
just one of many examples where Siddhartha and the Illustrious One disagreed. Others were love, and
the belief in Nirvana. Siddhartha thought love was the most important belief while Gautama thought
this was a great sin and when Govinda heard Siddhartha s proclamation he said, He forbade us to bind
ourselves to earthly love (147). Furthermore, Siddhartha thought Nirvana and Samsara were not real.
Buddhist believe that one who reaches Nirvana has finally broken the cycle of death and rebirth called
Samsara. Siddhartha

The Pros And Cons Of Republicanism
terms of demography and territory in the Ethiopian state, were targeted for destruction, and instead
forced to glorify the identities and cultures of the oppressive group (xxx, xxx).
Meanwhile, the notion of the nation was introduced to Europe in a powerful way during the
Revolution and the subsequent Napoleonic period (xxx, xxx). After Napoleon was finally subdued,
European monarchs and their representatives assembled in Vienna to chart a more peaceful order for
themselves (xxx, xxx). They blamed the mayhem that Europe endured between the early 1790s and
1815 on the notion of popular sovereignty and thus agreed to proscribe Republicanism (xxx, xxx). At

The inconsistencies in the implementation even partly contributed to the outbreak of the Second World
War (xxx, xxx). The European powers mobilized their African subjects with propaganda vilifying the
racial supremacist ideology of the Fascist powers. This set in motion a process in which Fascist
nationalism produced the opposed reality of anti Fascism; and anti Fascism became antiracism; and
antiracism led in due course to an end of colonization (Davidson, 1992). The result was the erasure of
European colonial rule from large swathes of the African continent within a relatively short period of
time (xxx, xxx). Consequently, this led to the development of a decolonized version of the self
determination concept. The decolonization version of self determination was based on the following
three principles: i) all dependent peoples are entitled to freedom; ii) the peoples so entitled are defined
in terms of the existing colonial territories, each of which contains a nation; and iii) once such a
people has come to independence, no residual right of self determination remains with any group
within it or cutting across its frontiers (Emerson 1964). This version of self determination had
numerous implications. The concerned entities often did not find it necessary to demonstrate effective
legitimate authority to gain and

  • 2. Pearl Jam Against Ticketmaster As indicated from the case, Pearl Jam filed a complaint alleging that Ticket Master is intending to monopolize the ticket service industry and using its market dominance to charge exorbitant service charges. According to the complaint, the service charges that Ticketmaster adds to tickets are excessive and increases the ticket cost for their teenaged fans. Moreover, Ticket master had secured exclusive contracts with most of the promoters and venue owners and hence, it was difficult for the band to use the alternative methods of ticketing. ANALYSIS: The lawsuit initiated by the rock band Pearl Jam against Ticketmaster was based on the antitrust law violations asserting that Ticketmaster has a virtually absolute monopoly on the distribution of tickets to concerts. In 1991, Ticketmaster purchased Ticketron, the largest competing ticket service and strengthened its position in the industry. It also entered into exclusive contracts with venue owners and promoters to secure long term arrangements with them inoder to better serve its clients. I believe, Ticketmaster did not exactly have a monopoly as claimed by the Lawsuit. There were other small players in the market who were not strong ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Due to the issues such as weather and security, Pearl Jam had to cancel several early concerts. • 3. The Enlightenment Era, And The Romantic Era The styles we call High Renaissance, Baroque style, Scientific Reformation, The Enlightenment Era, and The Romantic Era are all shaped by historical forces, the most significant being the Protestant Reformation s successful challenge to the spiritual and political power of the Church. Martin Luther, son of a rural coal miner had a mass impact in all these eras but Scientific Reformation was more prominent than the rest. Luther was a German monk and Professor of Theology at the University of Wittenberg. Luther s studies were put on hold by a political crisis in Augustinians. He found himself agitated due to the corruption and lack of spirituality he saw in Rome. He saw openly corrupt priests who would taunt the rituals of their faith. Luther sparked the Reformation in 1517 by posting his 95 Theses on the door of the Castle Church in Wittenberg, Germany. The 95 theses were a list of statements which expressed Luther s concerns about many Church practices. These Theses traveled around Europe. He felt in a manner, that the church was not always right. He did not believe that the Pope was spiritual heir to Saint peter. The Church known now as the Roman Catholic Church was very powerful politically and spiritually in Western Europe. I believed that Martin Luther Help spark the Scientific Era was due to the fact when he mad the 95Theses people began to second guess themselves. People began to have changes in thought belief. • 4. Two Party System in U.S. Essay example The reemergence of the two party system in America during the early to mid 1800s was due greatly to the battles for states rights and the economic issues of the time. These two topics were closely associated with each other and they helped contributed to the political struggle between the Democrats and the Whigs. The political divisions had occurred one part due to Jackson s veto of the re chartering of the Bank of the United States, the Tariff of Abominations, and the disastrous effects the Panic of 1837 had on the economy. Jackson s veto of the Maysville Road Bill and South Carolina s nullification of the Tariff of Abominations had an enormous effect on the separations of political support as they pertained to states rights. These ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Many harsh criticisms were formed about his plan and as a result, the conflict between the Whigs and Democrats stiffened and increased the dissection between the two. These economic changes helped to create political divisions, which ultimately led to a distinct two party system. Many politicians also made attempts to either increase states rights or to increase those of the federal government. The debate over states rights led to a further division in political ideologies and consequently strengthened the two party system. One such debate was over the Maysville Road Bill. When Jackson vetoed the bill to appropriate federal funds to repair an interstate road, it marked an enormous setback for nationalism and also the American System. His states rights partiality angered Henry Clay and other believers in the American system because the veto attacked one of the major components of the system, a strong infrastructure including roads. Another issue dealing with the rights of the state governments that divided the nation political was South Carolina s Ordinance of Nullification. In reaction to the burden that the Tariff of Abominations placed upon the farmers of South Carolina, the state utilized its right to nullify the federal law. In nullifying the tariff, South Carolina took a bold step to declare its governmental rights. Jackson s hostile reaction to the South Carolinians created a growing political division, strengthening the imminent separation ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Apple and Their Innovations Apple is referred to as the brand of innovation. It is known as a leading innovator which uses its brand name, friendly interface and it design to reinvent and grow product into new or existing market. They created the first smartphone back in 2007 and it was seen as the best information system created since the mobile phone. There are many lessons that we learned from apple business model. The first one is that Apple is no longer a product business but it is more about a platform business even though many people see apple dependent on their bestseller the Iphone. The continuous development of the platform potential is where the leadership of apple lies. For instance, the Iphone design didn t change much since its launch but the hardware component are changing constantly as we can see in the Iphone 5S where the major change is the A7 new chips and the capacity of displaying at 64 bits instead of the 32 bits used by all its competitors. This strategy is very good for any company competing in the technological industry as it helps focus more on their business transformation and hardware innovation. For instance, Apple is building around its ecosystems and platforms all its revenue streams, the different products in the chain and the different services they offer. The second important innovation of Apple is their focus on product design. As we know design is a necessity in a fierce market. However, it is not always seen as a success ingredient but more as a commodity. For ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Being exposed to such diversity I feel that I got a head start on understanding that people s culture shapes who they are and how they think or behave. Growing up, I remember thinking to myself the different ways in presenting a topic depending on which family member I was speaking to, and even the conversations were different, because each culture valued something different. Northern Italians are stereotyped to be snobby and stuck up, while the southern Italians are stereotyped to be free spirits or mafia members, specifically in Naples and Sicily. Something that I found interesting was that here in The United States, and as well as in Germany, when someone eats pasta, it is considered to be good manners to twirl the pasta using a spoon, however in Italy this is not the case. I find it interesting how people believe this is how Italian s eat their pasta and it is not. It had Nicaraguan food, a pharmacy, and other stores to buy cloths and other goods, such as cloths, and other little knick knacks. Trade: Domestic market Agricultural subsidies have a great impact on domestic market. There is an example about the challenges in Quebec to show how agricultural subsidies distort the domestic market. There are two main problems in Quebec in recent years. Many farmers are unable to cover their expenses and many are becoming increasingly dependent on government subsidies (Minardi, J. 2008 p .7). In Quebec, government through giving farmers agricultural subsidies executes supply management to make a quota system to let domestic products more competitive. Not only supply management, but also high tariff makes food from other countries cannot come into Quebec s market. Therefore the local food prices are extreme high. None were found. This is consistent with the findings of other researchers. M. L. Thomas (1997), author of the book, A Portfolio Management Approach to Strategic Airline Planning, comments on the scarcity of research in the area of airline management. In reviewing the literature on international aviation, it is clear that researchers tend to analyze the industry at a macro level. Although it has gained much attention recently . . . the topic of international commercial airline management suffers from a lack of theoretical and empirical work, and the scarcity of literature from a microeconomic perspective. According to J. Eaton (2001), author of the book, Globalization and Human Resource in the Airline Industry, research is particularly difficult because Airline managers are even more secretive and defensive about academic research than ... Organizational behavior is concerned with the study of what people do in an organization and how their behavior affects the organization s performance. (Robbins and Timothy, 2007, p. 10). A healthy organization responds to globalization and increasing market share by understanding its foreign assignments, people from different cultures, managing diversity, and foreign implications. Tyco quickly made acquisitions and developed offshore networks that were managed by executives that did not enforce an ethical code of behavior. Tyco falsified accounting records in order to meet U.S. standards and profitability. Tyco set their sights on strategies that would improve growth and investments, with disregard to any type of business code of ethics or standards. Complications surfaced that the company was not handling money correctly and top management was to blame. Either the company did not properly train their management (especially those who handled the financial aspects of the business) or management was not governing themselves by company policies and procedures that would make the business successful. • 12. The Tempest Critical Analysis The Tempest is about an ousted Duke of Milan ,Prospero, who has been living in exile on a remote island for the past twelve years with his daughter Miranda. He is a powerful magician, who happens to be the master of Ariel and Caliban, and a guy who really likes his books. When Prospero s enemies wash up on shore, he uses his black magic to seek revenge and restore himself to power. The Tempest belongs to the genre of Elizabethan romance plays. It combines elements of tragedy with those of romantic comedy, and like one of Shakespeare s plays previously, it asks deeper questions that are not completely resolved at the end. The tone that seeps into the play is one of wonder, amazement, and admiration. Mystery is still present , but the magic performed is not black and scary. The version that seems to grasp my attention more, would have to be the Utah Valley University interpretation because it takes Shakespeare s main purpose and tone but shows it in its own unique way. Furthermore, with its silly drunkards, the play has a certain lightness to it and even the so called killers of the King tell hilarious jokes and are lighthearted. But there is also the tone of revenge and reconciliation in the play. We feel a revenge burning in Prospero while, at the same time, a wish for forgiveness and reconciliation with those who have wronged him. The Balinese production has a magical and mystical tone and is all caused by the effects the director decided to use to help make the tone ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Typically they use a cathode ray tube where the voltages on the x and y plats cause a dot on the screen to move. In the horizontal direction this is controlled by the time base, whereas in the vertical direction the deflection is proportional to the signal input. Essentially the signal is amplified and applied to the Y plates of the cathode ray tube. A cathode ray tube consists of a number of elements. There is an electron gun that generates an electron beam that is fired along the length of the tube. This beam passes by deflection plates that are used to deflect the beam, as a result of electrostatic attraction and repulsion, and finally the beam hits a phosphor coating on the screen creating a small dot of light. To assist in making the trace as clear as possible, intensity and focus controls are included. The focus ensures that the dot that scans the screen remains as sharp as possible and in this way it can deliver a clear trace. The intensity control is required because the intensity of the dot or trace varies according to the speed at which the scan is made. Controlling the intensity enables a clear trace to be obtained. The Experience Of The Student Nurse Graduate The experience of the student nurse graduate transition influences the importance as it will become their desire to continue practising as a registered nurse (Cleary et al. 2011, 2013). Even though the nursing degree s clinical practice is a compulsory element of the undergraduate nursing program, it cannot be experienced from a registered nurse perspective, until nursing students have transitioned to a registered nurse. Whilst on clinical placement, I have observed registered nurses go against what is not based on credible evidence based practice. I have also worked along side registered nurses who have not liked being questioned on their practice. They demonstrate themselves as role models for younger generations and a large knowledge in the health care profession. The biggest burdens discussed in nursing literature that has shown to effects proficiency is that new graduate nurses have a lack in self confidence (Pfaff, Baxter, Jack, Ploeg, 2014). This affects relationships between the health care professionals and patients, resulting in a lack of patient advocacy (Pfaff, Baxter, Jack, Ploeg, 2014). With a lack in self confidence it will affect my ability to make effective and critical decisions. In order to overcome these challenges, I must commit myself to learning and keeping up with the advances in the medicine industry (Lima, Newall, Kinney, Jordan, Hamilton, 2014). Many new graduates may feel under prepared in their transition year, from starting the heavy workloads of their own patients, shift work and responsibilities associated with the role as a registered nurse (Duchscher 2001; Chang and Daly 2001; Baillie 1999; Kelly 1998). The four years spent at the Naval Academy gives you the opportunity to develop and mold your physical, mental, and moral stature in order to embody the military professional identity that one desires or believes is right. There are other core values that I would say are necessary in order to fit the identity as a military professional, but those three values are the ones that define me as a future leader in the military. A leader should be dependable at least. As a leader in the military, you constantly will have subordinates who are facing trials and tribulations in which they will need a leader that they can trust and depend on. Robert Browning s The Ring And The Book Although the early part of Robert Browning s creative life was spent in comparative obscurity, he has come to be regarded as one of the most important poets of the Victorian period. His dramatic monologues and the psycho historical epic The Ring and the Book (1868 1869), a novel in verse, have established him as a major figure in the history of English poetry. His claim to attention as a children s writer is more modest, resting as it does almost entirely on one poem, The Pied Piper of Hamelin, included almost as an afterthought in Bells and Pomegranites. In Dustin Kaufman s creative, semiotic process, there is no cacophonous storm that immediately follows the relaxing calm nature in which I strive to work. There is just that: calm. The kind of stuff that sends shivers speeding up the spines of the decent and politically correct whilst bringing a gleeful yet euphoric sense of joy to both the audience and creator. The consumption of substances can be broken down into legal and illegal substances. The question is, who are we to label certain substances illegal and prohibit others from using them by creating penalties for their use? The question then becomes, how should legalization be approached? In addition to legalization, the government must also educate people of the affects. The intensity or magnitude of earthquakes are measured by a seismograph. It is measured using the Richter scale. Earthquakes with magnitudes lower than 03 are hardly noticeable but those that are 07 or above tend to cause major damages to the human settlements. Time and again through history, there have been incidents of earthquakes destroying towns and cities. One such historic earthquake was the infamous 1906 San Francisco Earthquake. Earthquakes usually cause the shaking and displacement of the land which causes buildings to fall down and cause casualties. If close to the ocean, they might even cause tsunamis. The science of an earthquake is such that the tectonic plates under the ground cause strain and they move, causing earthquakes. Earthquakes usually occur naturally but in some rare cases they might even be a result of human activities (Daily, 2017). Some earthquakes are also caused by volcanic activity, landslides or even events such as mine blasts and nuclear experiments.
