Courage In Beowulf
Beowulf Essay
Beowulf, an epic poem, was written by an anonymous author who described the Anglo Saxon era.
During this era, Anglo Saxon heroes were classified as courageous, generous and faithful. In the
poem, the character Beowulf is classified as an Anglo Saxon hero. People of the Anglo Saxon era
spoke what is now known as Old English. A characteristic of Beowulf is courageous. Courage is the
ability to do something that frightens you. Beowulf wasn t necessarily frightened, but he did do
something that frightened the men of Hrothgar. Beowulf does many things to show his courage to the
people of Hrothgar. One way he shows his courage is when he fights Grendel, the monster who was
killing and eating the men of Hrothgar, without any

Response To Research (Polymorphic) Worm Detection
Summarize the existing work in the literature on the topic chosen. Choose three articles or pieces of
literature.
Deliverable: two page literature survey
I have chosen to research (Polymorphic) Worm (detection) because I do not have any knowledge of
how it works, spreads or transfers. I question these types of malware or viruses and would like to
understand better how they work and if they could become terminal for our PC s. I clean my PC s via
a service monthly and still wonder if there are certain virus/worms and other forms that are permanent.
I have started to do a little research already, and I am glad I have chosen this topic. By doing so, I will
be able to gain knowledge of the worm and its capabilities. As for the security community and is the
worm still relevant I would say yes continuous attacks happen every day. My last work location had ...

Witty worm discusses what it looks for and how it accesses the Internet Security Systems. Using the

Advantage And Disadvantage Of E-Learning
Today e learning is mostly delivered though the internet, although in the past it was delivered using a
blend of computer based methods like CD ROM. E learning provides the learners with the ability to fit
learning around their lifestyles, effectively allowing even the busiest person to further a career and
gain new qualifications. Overall, traditional learning is expensive, takes a long time and the results can
vary. E learning offers an alternative that is faster, cheaper and potentially better. The term e learning
has only been in existence since 1999, when the word was first utilized at CBT systems seminar. Other
words also began to spring up in search of an accurate description such as online learning and virtual

Theme Of Social Class In To Kill A Mockingbird
Outside the town limits, across the old sawmill tracks, lies a building with old paint crumbling off the
sides and a cemetery lying right beside it. The brick hard clay covered the land underneath both the
churchyard and the cemetery. There lied crumbling tombstones and some new ones as well. Each one
having an assortment of shattered coca cola bottles, colorful glass, and dozens upon dozens of burnt
out candles surrounding them. This was a happy place. The sweet aroma of Negro blossomed in the
air, curating a scent of peppermint, snuff, and sweet lilac. It felt welcoming and homely. During the
mid 1920s, in the darling town of Maycomb, Alabama, not all people had such a humbleness to them.
Many people were not treated with the same respect and kindness as others, as shown in the novel, To
Kill A Mockingbird. Throughout the novel, To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee, shows concerns
about social class and how it affects everyone around them. Being different during the mid 1930s was
excruciating, even though they were factors that can t be controlled, and Lee wanted to make a point
about that.
In the beginning, while the main character Scout Finch is going to class with her new teacher Miss
Caroline whom is new to town and doesn t know very much about the people, social class is a very
prominent theme. First off, while Scout was going to school she met a boy from the Cunningham
tribe. The Cunningham tribe was very poor and worked off the land for all that they had. As Scout

The strength of the human bone depends on the microstructure contained inside. Every human bone
contains osteons, these are aligned in a certain way, osteonal orientation. Usually in humans they are
grouped in two antirotary system of opposite direction in the shaft of the bone (diaphysis). There is a
general hypothesis that the direction of these osteons is a functional adaptation and depends on the
direction of the first stress that acts on the bone. There are a few others who looked into this
hypothesis but they considered a sheep tibia. Here the writer of the article is trying to determine the
osteonal direction in a human femurs and evaluate the results to see if the above hypothesis was good.

Analysis Of The Movie I Have Just Watched Citizen Kane ...
Hello, I have just watched Citizen Kane. I did not particularly like this movie, however, I would
recommend that anyone who is an old movies buff should see it. The movie was produced by Orson
Welles, who also played one of the main characters. Orson Welles played the role of Charles Foster
Kane. Kane s friend, Jedediah Leland was played by Joseph Cotten. Charles s second wife, Susan
Alexander Kane, was played by Dorothy Comingore. Walter Thatcher, Kane s guardian after his
mother came into some money, was played by George Coul. And last but not least, Jerry Thompson,
played by William Alland, the reporter who went around to interview Kane s former friends and
employees in an attempt to unveil who, or what, Rosebud was.
Citizen Kane is about a man by the name Charles Foster Kane. Mr. Kane was a famous and once
influential newspaper publisher. The movie starts with a newsreel depicting a lengthy obituary with an
overview of Kane s colorful life and career and introduced some of the more important people and
events that occurred in Kane s life. The producer of the newsreel told the reporters that he was not
happy with the film because it merely recounted Kane s life, instead of revealing who Kane truly was.
The producer noted that Kane s last word was Rosebud and wondered if that may hold the key to Kane
s character. He decided to stall the newsreel release and sent a reporter, Jerry Thompson, to talk to
Kane s former associates to try to uncover the identity of Rosebud.

Benito Mussolini Rise To Power Research Paper
Why Mussolini Rose to Power
The fascist dictator of Italy Benito Mussolini rose to power through the use of his charisma, his
unethical elimination of opponents and his attack on the capitol of Rome Italy. Through the use of
these assets Mussolini was able to successfully become the fascist dictator of Italy and contribute to
the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people. Mussolini s charisma was one of the major factors in
rising to power, enabling him to woo the people of Italy in his famous speeches. His elimination of his
opponents allowed him to effectively turn a democracy into a dictatorship by force, bringing him into
power without resistance. Finally Mussolini s final march to Rome, the capital of Italy, was the final
turning point in Italy s surrender to dictatorship and fascism. These three aspects were the contributing
factors to Benito Mussolini s rise to power.

army which eliminated the opposition and humiliated opposing leaders. With his Blackshirts
Mussolini was able to reduce fair competition into a virtual dictatorship, and reaped the benefits of the
popular vote. His final tool was the march to Rome, a brutal coup which intimidated the Italian
government to the point of handing over their leadership and submitting to Mussolini. With these
assets in hand Benito Mussolini was able to become a ruthless fascist dictator of Italy and contributed

Firearms Legislation across the States and its...
The first question to be considered in this paper is the problem of similarity of firearms legislation
across the states and its correspondence with the federal legislation. The hypothesis is that, no matter
how many acts were enacted by the local governments in addition to the federal legislation, the
general idea of the basic federal legislation on this matter has been preserved, and there are no
dramatic changes in the main approaches. The second question arises whether the diversity of firearms
legislation across the states is a consequence of different rates of gun violence, the variations in
demographics and cultural backgrounds, or the political influences and conventional approaches to
this problem. The hypothesis of the study is that no increase in gun violence within separate states
with stricter or laxer firearms legislation has been even observed, so there is no direct correlation
between gun violence rates and the adoption of new laws regulating the gun ownership and sale.
The third research question relates to the most important reasons of such diversity in the firearms
legislation amid the states and localities. It relates to the historical, cultural, and political backgrounds
of different states. The most important effect on this diversity is produced by the political views
supported in separate states, and it is unlikely that cultural and social backgrounds, demographic
factors, or the racial content of the population have sufficient influences.

How do people support these ideas? What would improve the educational system using these ideals?
In today s field of education, there is a transparent division between the data driven outside group of
education reformist, and the day to day inside group who facilitates the educational standards and
curriculum. Members of the outside group are often criticized for their apparent one size fits all;
standardized model of education. Many outside appointed officials boast about the continued growth

What are the issues of school improvement? What suggestions for solutions are possible?
With the modern trend in student and teacher accountability, the art of teaching is slowly becoming
lost. The primary objectives of the Department of Education, school districts, teachers and students
today are to simply ace the end of the year assessments. This current model of education abandons the
beliefs of past educators where strengthening a teacher s instructional strategies would surely

Examples Of Hyperbolical Protestation In Tamburlaine

Oppression Due to Society s Misconception in Maya...
The theme that Maya Angelou incorporates into her autobiography, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings
is one of imprisonment because of the oppression dictated on the subject through the misconceptions
of society. The title itself suggests imprisonment as the overlying theme. Assuming that the bird
mentioned in the title is Maya, one can analyze that the cage is the oppressive beliefs of society and
the reason why the bird sings is that it wants to combat racism by explaining that the cage cannot
confine it from its freedom. Maya Angelou is commenting that the subject should always fight against
the respective cage that each person is constricted within and not mourn over the suffering and
restrictions that one has to go through. Maya Angelou employs character and conflict into her
autobiography in order to effectively develop a theme of imprisonment and overcoming the
oppression inflicted upon oneself.
Through man v. society conflict, Maya is restrained because of her limitations that are brought upon
her by the society s beliefs about racism, sexism, and age. The majority of these limitations are
encountered in Maya s confrontation with the secretary and in her interview. During her interview,
Maya is asked, How old was I? List my previous jobs, starting from last held... The interview helps to
assure the reader that Maya, constrained by her race, sex, and age, has to lie in order to obtain the
position of a streetcar conductor. Maya has to endure the discrimination of being

Hunt For Red October Essay
The Hunt For Red October is a film directed by John McTiernan and produced by Mace Neufield and
Jerry Sherlock. The movie is based on the novel of the same name, which was written by Tom Clancy.
The film is about how CIA analyst Jack Ryan, played by Alec Baldwin, must prove that the rogue
Soviet Naval Captain, Marko Ramius, played by Sean Connery, is not planning an attack on the
United States and that his intentions are truly different. The film is set during the Cold War, in which
tensions between the United States and the Soviet Union are high. This adds to the overall suspense of
the movie. The Hunt For Red October is a film that really pushes your perspective of what a movie is

They only see the plot and the characters and call it good. Yet, they forget to recognize the other
aspects of the film. In this film, I ve noticed quite a bit of literary aspects of the picture. The plot of the
movie is what makes the movie what it is, however there are more ideas and things that go into the
plot. The first thing that I noticed was the realistic nature of the plot. A plot like this wouldn t work in
a different time period but with it being set during the Cold War, it makes sense, however, the nature
of the characters is one that would make one question it. When we look back at history and the cold
war, we see that in that time period, there was a lot of patriotism on both sides and how very close we
were to nuclear war. In this case, I find it a bit weird that Marko Ramius wanted to go to the United
States. Maybe he was against the ideology of the Soviet Union, but even then it is a bit weird. What
the plot does is it leaves everything resolved, just what a plot should do. The dialogue in the film can
be viewed as realistic due to the nature of the plot, causing one to be confused at times due to topics of
discussion involving the submarines or anything along the subject line. The overall theme that I felt in
the movie was the theme of discovery. Throughout the motion picture, we see Jack Ryan try and find

Hello, I am a pancake shaped as Mickey Mouse. I am extremely scared because my family is being

cheering sounds as they make it safely on the landing pads and boo when we don t. I notice that the

It is nearing my turn and I have noticed that some of us are ripping apart mid flight. I am so nervous I

Why Is Emily Dickinson A Romantic Poet
Emily Dickinson a Lyrical Poet
Because I could not stop for death, he kindly stopped for me; the carriage held but just ourselves and
immortality (6) is a quote from oneof Emily Dickinson s most famous poems. American poet, Emily
Dickinson, was known for her lyrical poetry who wrote during the American Renaissance era.
Dickinson wrote in the American Renaissance or American Romanticism time period. This era was
called a time of excitement over human possibilities (4). Americans believed that there was good in
people. It wa a time of emotion, spontaneity, and even sincerity. During the Romantic movement,
writers connected back to their roots through inspiration and wisdom in nature (4). That is exactly
what Dickinson did. She used a poetic technique with striking imagery. Dickinson greatly impacted
American romanticism.
On December 10, 1830, a little girl named Emily Elizabeth Dickinson was born in Amherst
Massachusetts. Her parents, Edward Dickinson, who was a member of congress, and Emily Norcross
(6) could have never imagined that their daughter Emily was going to become one of America s
greatest poets. She was not an only child. She had an older brother William Austin, and a younger

Informed consent is the basis for all legal and moral aspects of a patient s autonomy. Implied consent
is when you and your physician interact in which the consent is assumed, such as in a physical exam

testing or experiments involved over a period of time. The long process is making sure the patient
properly understands the risk and benefits that could possible happen during and after the treatment.

I do not believe it is right to make a prisoner do something he does not want to do just because there is
a subject needed for research. Also, prisoners may give consent to have a little freedom from their
everyday environment. The Nuremburg Code and the Belmont Report were brought upon to protect
the prisoner subjects from harm and to give them protection from being forced to consent in research.
It also protects prisoners from being a population that is turned to for experimental subjects in
research. The poor population will easily give consent to a research experiment because they will
easily get money due to their voluntary role in the experiment. Although the money compensation
sounds great to the unfortunate populations, there is no concern, other than money, or thought put into
the overall experiment outcomes. They participate in the research, but do not take into consideration
the down side affect it may cause. During a research, there are many people that did not know that
giving consent to a research also meant that you could withdraw from the research program if it was
necessary at any given period ( Nelson Merz, 70). The terminally ill patients are also coerced to give
consent because they are hoping that by participating will help them get well. Prisoners, poor
population, and terminally ill patients are unethical subjects towards research because both are easily
targeted and will accept such small compensation

Theme Of Immigration In West Side Story
Cultural interactions are important when it comes to settling during an immigration. The movie West
Side Story shows the way the Puerto Ricans tried to fit in and be a part of the New York City
community. Once they got into New York City, the Puerto Ricans engaged themselves in various
economic activities like working in stores for other people. The main theme of the West Side Story
showed that intercultural relationships were an important part of the lives of the immigrants and
emigrants of NYC. The paper has managed to show that cultural interactions are of great importance
when it comes to the settling in of immigrants in a new community. The Puerto Ricans indeed faced
many issues when they got to NYC. The existing communities made it difficult for them to settle in
well. There was too much hatred and violence between the two cultures in that community that even
brought about death. Love usually have a way of cooling people down. When Tony and Maria fell in
love despite the differences in their cultures, something special happened. Although they were not able
to achieve their dreams because Tony ended up being killed, the two cultures were able to discard their
hatred for each other and come together for the first time. Indeed, the smooth settling of immigrants
greatly depends on the cultural interactions in their new destination.

Deafness and Autism share similar characteristics; however, can be confused with each other if not
diagnosed correctly and in a timely manner. The most important of issue is knowing if the child has a
hearing loss or not because I can potentially mask the signs of Autism and a child can be
misdiagnosed (Syzmanski Brice 2008). For example, if a child is not responding it could because of
their hearing loss not Autism. This can lead to isolated play, especially if they do not have sign
language developed. Moreover, if sign language is not developed then this can lead to a decrease in
social interaction with any individuals leading to a greater isolation. Deafness and Autism are usually
both diagnosed within the first two to three years of age. Since they are diagnosed around the same
time that is where confusion can set in. The symptoms can be similar; however, it is differentiating
between whether the child is deaf or has autism or both. Some deaf children are misdiagnosed with
Autism because a hearing screening was not given until later in years which showed hearing loss.
Additionally, there is not a plethora amount of research to discuss when it comes to deaf individuals

Construction Of A Local Public School
Last year, the city of Colchester, England decided to expand the building of a local public school due
to a growing population. The land on which the school is built holds an abundant amount of
archaeological information relevant to the history of Colchester. This data was only briefly reached in
1911 when amateur archaeologist, Henry Jones, was given permission to quickly excavate the site.
This came about after century old human remains were discovered during the construction of the
original school. From his excavations, Jones concluded that the remains of the three bodies discovered
were killed during the Boudiccan Rebellion in 60 61 CE. Due to the circumstances under which Jones
performed his excavations, he was not able to produce a stratigraphic section of the site. Jones also
failed to keep any written record of his excavations and the remaining artifacts and remains have since
been lost. With the expansion of the school in Colchester, it is my job to perform a thorough
excavation of the site before construction begins. Using the law of superposition, with a start and end
date of approximately 200 BCE 1 CE or 100 BCE ± 100, stratum 800 is the oldest stratum

of cultural material present in the stratum, it can be surmised that this stratum was uninhabited.

The Crucial Role Of Obesity In Today s Society
Obesity is a popular term in today s society, especially in America. While the word itself is quite
common, it has a negative connotation that is dragged along with it. Obesity has become taboo in
society, because no one wants to discuss the unpleasant details that relate to it. But, when it is
discussed, some of the biggest questions are What causes obesity? and, who is to blame? These
questions have led to many years in research, and even a few lawsuit cases. Fast food intake plays a
crucial role in the likelihood of obesity because it is cheap, easy to access, and has a diversity of
flavors and variety available. The increased consumption of fast food products leads to a higher risk of
health issues caused by obesity. Merriam Webster ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While genetics does have a role to play in a person s likelihood of obtaining obesity, eating large
amounts of greasy, sugary, unhealthy foods will result in a higher risk of weight gain. Diet and
exercise might help some people be able to counter the effects of fast food consumption. But when a
person eats fast food more than once a week they are potentially putting their bodies in danger. And to
top things off, most fast food meals are downed along with sugary sodas, which compound the
problem almost exponentially as the person is drinking large levels of carbohydrates (that later are
stored as fat) to go along with their calorie laden meals. Imagine that, having a huge problem with
high calorie meals and then drinking sodas alongside. The average soda contains around 180 calories,
so people are not only eating too many calories, they are also drinking them in excess. A person could
order a hamburger from a quick service restaurant and just eat the meat itself and be okay. But when
the meat it paired with bread and a large soda it makes the entire meal extremely unhealthy. While
genetics and environment may be factors, fast food is the common denominator in all cases of obesity.
Places with fewer fast food restaurants are generally healthier than those who are surrounded by fast
food. Communities that choose to eat healthier, fresher food are healthier.

The Bicycle Thieves
The Bicycle Thieves is an Italian Neorealist black and white movie directed by Vittorio De Sica. The
movie is about an unemployed father named Antonio Ricci, who is finding a way to recover the family
s lost bicycle. The bicycle was a very important thing that was owned by the Ricci family, but it was
stolen by a young man while Antonio was working. The movie was filmed in an outskirt of Rome.
However, this film is different from other films, because it is neither romantic nor sentimental, but it is
a movie that showcases the real life drama of the Italians after the second World War.
The editing in the last sequence of the movie The Bicycle Thieves is inconsequential in that it does
little on its own to contribute to a scene because it alludes to reality than fantasy. It continues to show
the audience a real life drama, rather than a stereotypical movie drama where fantasy is added.
Especially in the last sequence of the movie, the build up of Antonio s intensity does not need much

Theme Of Social Class In To Kill A Mockingbird Outside the town limits, across the old sawmill tracks, lies a building with old paint crumbling off the sides and a cemetery lying right beside it. The brick hard clay covered the land underneath both the churchyard and the cemetery. There lied crumbling tombstones and some new ones as well. Each one having an assortment of shattered coca cola bottles, colorful glass, and dozens upon dozens of burnt out candles surrounding them. This was a happy place. The sweet aroma of Negro blossomed in the air, curating a scent of peppermint, snuff, and sweet lilac. It felt welcoming and homely. During the mid 1920s, in the darling town of Maycomb, Alabama, not all people had such a humbleness to them. Many people were not treated with the same respect and kindness as others, as shown in the novel, To Kill A Mockingbird. Throughout the novel, To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee, shows concerns about social class and how it affects everyone around them. Being different during the mid 1930s was excruciating, even though they were factors that can t be controlled, and Lee wanted to make a point about that. • 7. Analysis Of The Movie I Have Just Watched Citizen Kane ... Hello, I have just watched Citizen Kane. I did not particularly like this movie, however, I would recommend that anyone who is an old movies buff should see it. The movie was produced by Orson Welles, who also played one of the main characters. Orson Welles played the role of Charles Foster Kane. Kane s friend, Jedediah Leland was played by Joseph Cotten. Charles s second wife, Susan Alexander Kane, was played by Dorothy Comingore. Walter Thatcher, Kane s guardian after his mother came into some money, was played by George Coul. And last but not least, Jerry Thompson, played by William Alland, the reporter who went around to interview Kane s former friends and employees in an attempt to unveil who, or what, Rosebud was. Citizen Kane is about a man by the name Charles Foster Kane. Mr. Kane was a famous and once influential newspaper publisher. The movie starts with a newsreel depicting a lengthy obituary with an overview of Kane s colorful life and career and introduced some of the more important people and events that occurred in Kane s life. The producer of the newsreel told the reporters that he was not happy with the film because it merely recounted Kane s life, instead of revealing who Kane truly was. The producer noted that Kane s last word was Rosebud and wondered if that may hold the key to Kane s character. He decided to stall the newsreel release and sent a reporter, Jerry Thompson, to talk to Kane s former associates to try to uncover the identity of Rosebud. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. Firearms Legislation across the States and its... The first question to be considered in this paper is the problem of similarity of firearms legislation across the states and its correspondence with the federal legislation. The hypothesis is that, no matter how many acts were enacted by the local governments in addition to the federal legislation, the general idea of the basic federal legislation on this matter has been preserved, and there are no dramatic changes in the main approaches. The second question arises whether the diversity of firearms legislation across the states is a consequence of different rates of gun violence, the variations in demographics and cultural backgrounds, or the political influences and conventional approaches to this problem. The hypothesis of the study is that no increase in gun violence within separate states with stricter or laxer firearms legislation has been even observed, so there is no direct correlation between gun violence rates and the adoption of new laws regulating the gun ownership and sale. The third research question relates to the most important reasons of such diversity in the firearms legislation amid the states and localities. It relates to the historical, cultural, and political backgrounds of different states. The most important effect on this diversity is produced by the political views supported in separate states, and it is unlikely that cultural and social backgrounds, demographic factors, or the racial content of the population have sufficient influences. ... The theme that Maya Angelou incorporates into her autobiography, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings is one of imprisonment because of the oppression dictated on the subject through the misconceptions of society. The title itself suggests imprisonment as the overlying theme. Assuming that the bird mentioned in the title is Maya, one can analyze that the cage is the oppressive beliefs of society and the reason why the bird sings is that it wants to combat racism by explaining that the cage cannot confine it from its freedom. A plot like this wouldn t work in a different time period but with it being set during the Cold War, it makes sense, however, the nature of the characters is one that would make one question it. When we look back at history and the cold war, we see that in that time period, there was a lot of patriotism on both sides and how very close we were to nuclear war. In this case, I find it a bit weird that Marko Ramius wanted to go to the United States. Maybe he was against the ideology of the Soviet Union, but even then it is a bit weird. What the plot does is it leaves everything resolved, just what a plot should do. The dialogue in the film can be viewed as realistic due to the nature of the plot, causing one to be confused at times due to topics of discussion involving the submarines or anything along the subject line. The overall theme that I felt in the movie was the theme of discovery. Throughout the motion picture, we see Jack Ryan try and find the Red October, leading me to the theme of ... But when a person eats fast food more than once a week they are potentially putting their bodies in danger.
