Write An Essay On The Book 1984 By George Orwell
You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of

Miranda Rights. These are every citizen s rights if we do not want to speak when arrested we should

is required to make sure that no one poses a threat to us. Instead of doing that they are the ones that
people fear. In the novel 1984 people get tortured, abused, hurt they experience pain all the way when
they get integrated. The novel 1984 is accurate, effective to modern society because the CIA tortures,

Stereotypes In The Film The Secret Life Of Pets
The picture portrayed in the cartoon is similar to a part of the story in the film The secret life of pets
produced by Illumination Entertainment. The film tells a story about two pets who do not get along
well. The animals get into a conflict after their boss leaves them alone at home, which becomes the
cause of problems. Likewise, the cartoon of Robert Ariail, published on october 24th 2011, shows
president Obama leaving the house, not taking into account that there are dogs wanting to enter the
house through the backdoor.
This cartoon illustrates a political situation with the use of symbolism and labels. The difference in its
understanding can cause different perceptions when looked at from different perspectives. The ones

A Thematic Analysis Of The Song Where Is The Love
A group by the name of the Black Eyed Peas wrote a song called Where is the Love. This song is
released on their 2003 Elephunk album and the music video is directed by Will.I.Am, one of the group
members. The song is talking about all of the social, racial, and other issues that is going on in the
world. We as a country is trying to help other countries with their problems and issues, but we have
issues of our own that we cannot even solve. Some Americans thinks this country is perfect and we do
not have flaws, but they are sadly mistaken because of all of the hatred and violence we have toward
one another, just because their skin tone may not be the same. The video is a mixture between a
narrative and conceptual video. It tells the story of how much racism and other societal problems this

discriminated on a daily basis because of the color of their skin or because of the country their parents
are from. For an example when we see a Muslim, we automatically think of terrorism. Just because of
one incident, (I am not making 9/11 a light situation, it is a devastating situation that still affects many
Americans today), we have labeled all Muslim as terrorist, which is not true. Every country has their
issues, but they deal with them differently, while the United States push their s aside and deal with it
when the problem has gotten out of control. All of this resonates with me because we are quick to pass

Richard s Behavior At School
The school counselor noticed several irregularities with Richard s behavior, such as the obvious
inattention, distractibility, lack of organization, reoccurring daydreaming, and inability to follow
directions in multiple settings, which suggested that his difficulties were not solely based on a lack of
intrinsic motivation or understanding.
The school counselor described that every year Richard performed exceptionally well on standardized
tests; however, he performed poorly on assignments and achievement tests and had terrible
penmanship. His reading level was proficient, and he was talented in physical education and art. Yet,
Richard was easily distractible, disruptive in class, and highly disorganized. Richard also struggled in
mathematics and socially because he did not get along with his classmates. Although he remained in
his seat in the fourth grade, Richard had difficulty remaining in his seat and touched his classmates
belongings constantly in the first and second grade. Although isolation, structured classroom
environment, and consistent negative consequences improved Richard s behavior at school, the school
counselor was concerned because he still performed at a level below what was expected of him.
Additionally, his distractibility and difficulty following directions occurred in the classroom, at home,
and during baseball. Thus, based on the wide variety of inconsistencies in his behavior, the school
counselor may have suggested that Richard should receive

Cause And Effect Of The Arctic Sea Ice
People know that Human driven climate change (Fiona Harvey, November 25, 2017) has become an
international issue which has triggered to warm air temperature. The Arctic, the regions around the
North Pole, has huge ice. Since the more the temperature rises, the more ice melt, climate change and
the ice melt have extremely a strong connection. Furthermore, a lot of species live below the sea of the
Arctic, also there are some people who place their home in this area. As a result, global warming leads
to the change of the Arctic sea ice condition which influences the environment and the people of the
Arctic.
Arctic sea ice has responsibility for stopping the rise of temperature on the earth; however, the
expanse of the ice has been decreasing. Arctic sea ice has a significant element on the earth. The ice
plays a role of lowering the sea and air temperature like air conditioner (Stevens, F. 2016) by
reflecting the heat of the sun back to the universe. This means the ice has the ability of regulating heat.
However, the air conditioner has not been working as much as people expect. According to Science
Daily, the amount of the Arctic sea ice in 2017 has gotten smaller, 7 million square kilometers in
1970s and 1980s to 4.7 million square kilometers, and the ice thickness has decreased thirty percent
compared to between 2001 and 2004 (Alfred Wegener Institute, September 15, 2017). The reduction
of the ice extent causes not to fulfill a function as the air conditioner In

The Golden Age of Greece The golden age of Greece, especially the Periclean age of Athens, was
considered to be the defining age of Greek history. The amount of cultural and intellectual innovation
in Greece was at its height during the nearly 200 year period. From 500 300 BC, many great thinkers
and philosophers rose and gave many a new perspective on life.
As Matt Barrett explained, many philosopers, such as Socrates, dwelled in Athens, along with his then
pupil, Plato. Socrates was one of the first of the philosophers to believe that life was not for collecting
material possesions, or riches, but that it was for knowing oneself and the world around oneself.
Socrates was later executed and forced to drink Hemlock for corrupting the youth of the city. Plato,
Socrates pupil, was considered an idealist. Furthermore, according to Barrett, it is said that all
philosophy is but a footnote to Plato. (Barrett)
After the end of the Persian Wars, Athens began a nearly 50 year period of prosperity under Pericles,
known as the Age of Pericles. During this time the Parthenon was built, and Athens became the
cultural, intellectual, and the artistic center of the Greek world. Throughout this time period, Athens
attracted a number of intellectuals and philosophers, which brought about a cultural and intellectual
high point in Greek history. (Barrett)
Pericles was an incredibly influential statesman that ushered in

The Pros And Cons Of Print Journalism
As previously mentioned, graphic journalism is not the only medium which uses both text and image
in order to communicate and convey information print journalism also incorporates visual language
into the work, because according to the research people are more likely to read a story accompanied
by a photograph (Wolf Grotta 1985, in Nyberg 2006: 100), but actually does it in a completely
different way. While the news photograph is ancillary to the text (Nyberg 2006: 100) and plays a
supportive accompanying role, in comics journalism illustrations and text are integrated and
equivalent, working together to compose a narrative and create a coherent whole, but remaining
distinct from each other. Moreover, a photograph usually stands alone seeming to capture the whole
story in a single moment (Williams 2005: 55), and though has the capacity to draw attention and cause
a viewer s reaction, it cannot by itself provide an interpretation or create a narrative coherence,
requiring captions and descriptions to be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Whereas words are a cerebral means of communication intended to describe and narrate, engaging
with morally serious content (Meskin 2001: 7), pictures perform visualization for the events, people
and places by actually resembling the objects they represent (Nyberg 2006: 101) and hence are more
precise and holistic than linear text. As comics journalism is the conjunction of visual and verbal, it is
important to examine and analyze the very relationship between these two elements and how they
influence each other while working together, considering both positive and discrediting

Understanding the Similarities to Strain Theory and...
Understanding the similarities of Strain Theory, amp; General Theory of Crime Angela Sampson #
2396467 Sociology 345: Social Control Professor: James Chriss Cleveland State University April 30th
2012 Abstract: The purpose is to identify the similarities between Strain theories, and General Theory
of Crime. Strain was developed from the work of Durkheim and Merton and taken from the theory of
anomie. Durkheim focused on the decrease of societal restraint and the strain that resulted at the
individual level, and Merton studied the cultural imbalance that exists between goal and the norms of
the individuals of society. General Theory of Crime , In 1990 Michael R. Gottfredson and Travis
Hirschi wrote the book A General ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In essence, general strain theory proposed that an increase in strain would lead to an increase in anger,
which may then lead to an increase in crime (Agnew, 1992:61). These previously mentioned goals
turn into strain when the individual is faced with certain disjunctions in their life. The first of these
disjunctions is the one that is the focus of previous strain theories, the disjunction between aspirations
and expectations. This is founded on the principle of culturally bound goals and values that are
accepted by everyone but yet not available to everyone. This idea of the American Dream then causes
strain and frustration in the individual who cannot achieve this dream through legitimate means. This
theory has been criticized because it does not explain middle class crime, it only focuses monetary
goals, social class is the only barrier that is considered, and it does not specify why some turn to
deviance. The loss of positively valued stimuli Agnew s research in the stress literature led him to the
discovery that the removal of positive stimuli can also cause strain. This loss could manifest itself in
the form of a death or a broken relationship with a friend or romantic partner, or it could be a result of
the theft of a valued object. According to Agnew, the strain that is felt by the individual die to the loss
could lead the individual to delinquency as the individual attempts to prevent its loss,

Summary Of Perry Patetic s Odyssey
Getting the family together for the holidays may be a little harder when they are 1000 miles apart.
Perry Patetic in his passage, claims that it is too easy to move away from the friends and family of our
past, this creates a loss in friendship and or relationships. Patetic supports his argument by first
explaining why people are able to move so far away. He continues by comparing the differences
between a close relationship to a long distance relationship. The authors purpose is to point out the
struggle of a long distance relationship in order to change one s opinion on the topic. The author
displays a sincere tone for the newer generation. Having a strong relationship with someone is only
truly possible if they are close together because

Hillary Clinton s Influence On American Politics
For the last 12 months America has been experiencing a liberal/progressive revolution. People all over
the country have been uniting behind Bernie Sanders and his cause to end the corruption in
Washington and restore the democratic power to the American people.
When Sanders, a relatively unknown, small state senator of Vermont officially announced on May 26,
2015 that he was running for the presidency, the media coverage was relatively scarce. For years the
Democratic National Committee (DNC) led by the former co chairman for Hillary Clinton s 2008
presidential campaign and mainstream media had assumed Hillary Clinton to be the Democratic
nominee. According to these pundits, Hillary was, due to her experience, recognisability, and vast
amount of donor money, considered to be the ideal candidate for the Democratic Party.
Therefore, as Sanders started surging in the polls prior to the initial state primary elections surpassing
Hillary in New Hampshire and keeping it close in Iowa, the bias of ... Show more content on

education at any in state public university and college for families with an annual income of less than
125000 dollars, this was seen as a compromise between Sander s completely free alternative and the
one Clinton proposed last year, which would force parents to contribute as much of their own money
as possible to pay for their children s tuition fees; a big step forward for a country with a national
student loan debt of 1 trillion

Alamo Research Papers
Have you ever heard about the Alamo? If you have, well it s pretty common because the Alamo is
something well known for what it stood for. If you didn t know the Alamo, it is in San Antonio and it
stood for a very good reason. Let me begin in the Alamo, it was originally built as the chapel of the
Mission San Antonio de Valero. Alike all of the spanish missions it was both a, religious and industrial
trade school for indians. For years it had a couple of huts and a small stone tower until, it was
destroyed by a storm in 1724. Soon the first stone church was constructed in 1744 and then collapsed
in 1756. They started with the second church but it was never finished, it also still stands in the Alamo
Plaza. 37 years later (1793) nothing really happened but, San Antonio de Valero was still a home to
missionaries and their Native American converts until, the spanish authorities saw the Alamo ... Show

Red Imagery In Macbeth
Imagery is defined as visually descriptive or figurative language, especially in a literary work. William
Shakespeare is notorious for using strong metaphors in his work to create vivid images in readers
minds, especially in his play Macbeth. Using such examples sets a dark tone for the story and allows
readers to form their own mental interpretation. In the play, imagery is prevalent through references to
blood, animals, clothing, and nighttime, symbolising darkness. Whether these themes are shown
through characters actions, speech, or just implied thoughts, they are present and plentiful. The color
red is associated with energy, war, danger, strength, power, passion, love, and most notably, blood. In
Macbeth, there is real bloodshed from death, but it is also as a symbol for harsh deeds. Shakespeare
uses sharp blood red imagery because it is easy to visualize for readers since they are so familiar with
the color. One of the boldest references in the play occurs in Act II, scene II when Lady Macbeth
replies to Macbeth s admission of guilt. Here, she also admits to having blood on her hands, and the
stain which later comes back to haunt her is revealed. Her line My hands are of your color but I shame
to wear a heart so white. strongly portrays imagery because the reader can see the defined line
between white, purity, and red, sin. The line comes off as Lady Macbeth s first real cry for help, and
readers can see her begin to crumble. Although their hands are not

Who s Afraid Of Virginia Woolf Essay
Who s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and The Birth of the MPAA Ratings System
The 1960s were a volatile time and an important season of change in American history. The
revolutions in social mores that the country experienced extended to the cinema. Previously, films
sought the endorsement of production associations and religious organizations. That trend began to be
challenged by bold directors and their films that earned success without the approval of these
establishments. With its brash dialogue and suggestive situations, Mike Nichols screen adaptation of
Who s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? caused controversy by continuing the radical movements of films in
the 50 s and 60 s, leading to content changes as well the advisory of who should see it. Along with
other films that came before it, this led to the creation of the MPAA ratings system to classify films

Example Of Social Facilitation
One of the oldest Social Psychology theories in the history of the field is Social Facilitation. Social
Facilitation is about how the presence of other people in the environment could affect our goal
directed behavior. The term Facilitation refers to the early observations that an individual s
performance is enhanced because of external factors such as the presence of other people. Social
Facilitation is a phenomenology that causes the behavior of an individual to change in the presence of
other people. Guerin (1993) stated that Social Facilitation exists when in the presence of other people,
an animal s behavior increases or decreases its level of arousal however does not interact with it.
Hence, an individual s performance on a task causes either a positive or negative effect. This can be
seen in many situations such as when one feels uneasy and uncomfortable in front of a many people
and performs worse than usual or when one dances better than others opposed to when dancing alone.
In an even handed context, it is the idea that an individual s performance is being facilitated in the
presence of another individual (Travis, 1925). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

behavior in a non social environment and inconsistency of human behavior in a social environment.

what responses an individual can provide during this occurrence (Guerin, 1993). The theory of Social
Facilitation concentrates on altered behaviors that arise when an individual performs a task in an alone
setting as opposed to being in the presence of other people. Lastly, Social Facilitation Theory also
deals with how huge its influence extends to an individual s performance in the

My Watson to His Holmes
It was another typical Thursday night in the office Rudy was looking over his notes from the
investigation, while I was re checking my personal notes to see if there were any differences. The
force s own detectives are pretty lousy, so it s only natural that we were on the case. Besides, if it wasn
t for the new sergeant that fired us both a year ago because of longstanding reasons , all of this wouldn
t even be happening. Rudy has gotten over it for the most part, but I still hold a grudge to this very
day. Stacy, I need a drink! Rudy yelled out from his desk. Yeah, yeah, I got ya covered. I replied. I set
down my notes on the table, and grabbed the half empty bottle of whiskey which I stored in the
kitchen. I noticed two shot glasses on his desk guess he really wanted to take a break. We ve been
going at it for hours, so why not? I can t tell the last time I saw Rudy this enthused in a case there were
stacks of folders on the table behind him, various photos of the victims pinned up on the board with
names, descriptions, and other notable info, and perhaps the most glaring feature of his office the desk
he was leaning on was buried in mountains of paperwork, evidence, and cigarette butts. Yeah, he s
been hard at work. I m surprised that you actually found some time to take a break, Rudy. I said,
pouring the drinks. Well, it was only eventual. he said, pushing the dossiers aside. He took a shot as
soon as I finished pouring. He flinched a bit, but

Should Fda Promote More Process Analytical Technology And...
Should FDA promote more Process Analytical Technology and Quality by Design approaches for
more successful impact on manufacturers ability to maintain consistent quality? The Process analytical
technology (PAT) and Quality by design (QbD) approaches are used to create quality in a product.
Each approach offers manufacturers the framework to create consistent quality and potential to
increase efficiency in the production of a drug product. The two approaches offer some key issues:
increased product knowledge and understanding but critical to identify the correct quality attribute;
offer flexibility in the post approval of a product but the acceptance of concept can be challenging;

The QTTP identifies critical quality attributes (CQAs), which establish a limit or range to ensure a
desired process quality. The QTTP also identifies the critical process parameters (CPPs), which are
used to monitor or control a process to ensure the process produce the desired quality on a CQA. The
QbD works within the design space to achieve a process that performs consistent to CQAs and CPPs
affect on overall quality. A control strategy is used to ensure quality in the product is maintained
throughout the process and all phases of the product lifecycle. QbD can be used throughout the entire
lifecycle to improve efficiency and quality of the product. The process analytical technology approach
involves process understanding combined with monitoring in process product attributes in real time by
adjusting process parameters to build quality in a product. The PAT approach combines process
understanding, principles and tools, and strategy for implementation. Principal understandings consist
of understanding the variability of critical sources, managing the process variables, and product
quality is accurately predicted through the design space. The PAT principles and tools help companies
understand the physical, chemical, and biological attributes, which provides information for process
understanding. The knowledge acquired from implementing process understanding and principles and
tools are used to develop a strategy for implementation. Why

Akira Kurosawa s The Seven Samurai and John Sturges The Magnificent Seven
The 1954 movie The Seven Samurai, directed by Akira Kurosawa, and its 1960 remake The
Magnificent Seven, directed by John Sturges have many similarities; for example, the plot of both
movies entails farmers hiring mercenaries to help fend off bandits that annually pillage their farms.
The two movies also have differences like the characterization of the bandits in The Magnificent
Seven as opposed to The Seven Samurai.
One of the main similarities between the Seven Samurai and Magnificent Seven is the plot. In both
movies bandits annually pillage a small village and the farmers are left with barely enough food to
survive. In the Magnificent Seven Calvera and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Seven Samurai they come in contact with Katsushiro, a young and inexperienced samurai, and
Kikuchiyo, a samurai who has jumped castes. In Magnificent Seven Chico plays both of these roles, a
young inexperienced gunslinger who used to be a farmer. In both movies the main character finds an
old friend: Shichiroji (SS), Harry (MS), and a quiet, older and tremendously experienced
samurai/gunslinger: Kyuzo (SS), O Reilly (MS).
Once six mercenaries are acquired they set off to the village and Chico/Kikuchiyo follows behind until
the mercenaries decide to let him join. Once the mercenaries arrive, in both movies, all the farmers are
hiding because they think the samurai/gunslingers are just as bad as the bandits and they hid all their
women in fear that they would seduce them. As time progresses though the farmers begin to trust the
samurai/gunslingers and are trained how to fight. Unlike in The Seven Samurai the bandits in The
Magnificent Seven actually talked with the gunslingers and tried to persuade them to join their group,
but to no avail, and the battle was started. The fighting in both the movies is pretty much the same
with little battles occurring over a three day period until the final battle.

Literature Review Cooperative Communication
CHAPTER 3 COOPERATIVE COMMUNICATION
Background
We have introduced a new form of diversity for the concept of mobile communications system of
cooperation. Cooperation by mobile phone users for each user is assigned. Cooperation can be
considered as a new form of space diversity, antenna diversity in the transmission process, however,
and other complications, Intermobiles noisy channels, each phone has sent a separate message. (W. Yu

According to A. Goldsmith (2005), wireless communications technology is asking as functions of

According to Cover and El Gamal (1979), a good performance in wireless communications Multiple
Input Multiple Output (MIMO) has drawn attention. The benefits of MIMO communication has been
widely recognized, as it offers a significant increase in performance and range of data offline or
additional bandwidth to transmit power. (Cover and El Gamal, 1979) By increasing the speed and

Before venturing into the analyses of the case study Sponsor of Policy: A Network Analysis of

Themes Of The Time Machine
Once in my basketball game, my team was losing by many points. However, we never gave up and
started to make a comeback. The crowd was getting louder as the final seconds approached. There was
2 seconds left, and Julien Flores shot the ball. Swoosh. We had won the game because we never gave
up. Persevering through obstacles is the major theme in H.G. Wells novel titled, The Time Machine .
This novel is about a time traveler who traveled far into the future and encountered strange humanoid
creatures. The world was very different and another species called the Morlocks had stolen his Time
Machine. The Time Traveler persevered through this and he eventually got his Time Machine back
and he travelled back home.
An example of the main theme in The Time Machine being how you should persevere through
obstacles is found on page 104 and H.G. Wells states, So I came back. For a long time I must have
been insensible upon the machine. This evidence show show the main theme of the Time Machine is
that you should never give up because the Time Traveler has been trying to get home for a long time
and he never gave up. He was eventually able to get home and this shows how since the time traveler
was able to get home because he persevered, the main theme in the novel is that you should never give
up. Another piece of evidence that H.G. Wells includes is on page 1 and it states, There I object, said

The Spirit of a True Diary g
Many people know Sherman Alexie as an award winning poet, author, and filmmaker. It should be no
surprise that his first venture into the young adult genre brought forth a masterpiece, The Absolutely
True Diary of a Part time Indian. Although intended for a younger audience, anybody would enjoy this

with identity while growing up. The novel is written as a first person narrative from the perspective a
teenager living on the Spokane Indian Reservation, inspired by events from Alexie s own life. Being
semi autobiographical gives the story an authenticity that can move any audience. The emotionally

called, in his first year of high school. Growing up on a reservation he faces medical concerns,
poverty, hounding from bullies and the difficulties of a community suffering from alcoholism. He is
encouraged by a reservation teacher to escape the low expectations of people around him and makes

Pressure Ulcers As A Hospital
Upon admission to a hospital, a patient may be at risk for numerous hospital acquired conditions.
Pressure ulcers, also known as pressure sores or bed sores , are a type of hospital acquired condition
that may develop during a hospital admission if proper risk assessment is not performed by a
registered nurse (RN). Pressure ulcers form over bony prominences, such as the back, heel, ischium,
sacrum, and elbow, when circulation of these prominences is impaired (Jarvis, 2012). Pressure ulcers
may develop when a person is confined to a bed or immobilized, which impedes proper delivery of
oxygen and nutrients to the skin resulting in cell death (Jarvis, 2012). Pressure ulcers are divided into
four stages. In stage I, a nonblanchable redness of intact skin appears that does not disappear for 24
hours after pressure is relieved. In stage II, there is partial thickness erosion of the epidermis or the
dermis layer of the skin. Full thickness pressure ulcers are a stage III ulcer, which extend into
subcutaneous tissue. Lastly, stage IV pressure ulcers involve all skin layers and may expose muscle,
tendon or bone. Pressure ulcers can be prevented if risk assessment is performed and at risk
individuals are identified (DeLaune Ladner, 2011). Risk assessment scales, such as the Braden Scale
and Norton Scale, are used to determine the likelihood of skin breakdown in a patient. The Braden
Scale is divided into six categories that help predict pressure sore risk and each category is

Red box has become the biggest competitor for blockbuster. I love the convenience of driving less
than mile to my gas station to rent a movie for $1 dollar. Blockbuster is attempting to compete with
the blockbuster express; however they don t have nearly as many units as red box. Also blockbuster
express charges more for their new release then red box. I like the convenience of being able to return
red box movies to any one of their locations no matter the city or state.
Movies on demand is a great concept. You can order movies to your home TV as soon as there
available on DVD. You can rent a movie for just about the same price as you would from blockbuster.
Turning your TV on and watching a new release from the comfort of your home is priceless. Also
being billed for the movie with your regular cable bill is a convenience as well. People enjoy have
something that is convenient for them. Those that don t have cable can go the red box for less than a
rental at block buster.
Finally, I don t begin to doubt that digital movie piracy played a role. Even though authorities have
begun cracking down on some of this in recent years, there s little doubt that Blockbuster and others
lost millions of dollars in potential rentals when movies were illegally downloaded. All of these causes
of Blockbusters troubles have something in common: technology. Without the Internet, Netflix

OSMOTIC DEHYDRATION OF STARFRUIT
Averrhoa carambola
INTRODUCTION
Star fruit, botanically called as Carambola, is a star shaped tropical fruit with sweet and sour flavor.
Malayan peninsula native Carambola is cultivated in many parts of Southeast Asia, Pacific Islands and
China for its fruits. Eventhough, abundant and plentiful, carambola is yet to gain popularity, especially
in the western world.
Scientific name: Averrhoa carambola. The genus Averrhoa includes two well known sorrels
(Oxalidaceae) family of fruiting trees, carambola.
Star fruit is a small, bushy evergreen tree that grows very well under hot, humid, tropical conditions.
The plant bears small lilac colored, bell shaped flowers in clusters which subsequently develop into
oblong shaped fruits with characteristic five angled edges (sides or ribs) that appear like a starfish in
cross sections. Both sweet and sour varieties begin to yield under cultivable orchards, and ready for

According to the lecture, In a CWV ethics are grounded in absolute and universal moral principles that
have been given by God. In modern culture, moral standards are subjective and based upon personal
preference (Lecture 16). In this essay a case study will be given and solutions to the dilemma will be

Richard say it is ultimately her choice but he suggests that she stops the suffering before it starts.
Core Beliefs
The core beliefs that would be relevant to this situation from a Christian worldview are you shall not
kill and God has a reason for all things. All life is precious. God created all things and He creates them
to His divine plan. God has a plan for that child even though he or she will have Down syndrome. God
says killing is wrong in the Ten Commandments and abortion is the same as killing someone.
Resolution
From a Christian worldview the solution would be to have the baby not and abortion. Abortion is
wrong in the eyes of God because it is an act of murder. All life is precious and when a women has an
abortion she is destroying God s perfect creation. That child is perfect in God s eyes even with the
Down syndrome. God has a will for that child.
Evaluation
If Susan decides to have the baby she will most probably have to quit her job and stay at home with
the child for the rest of the child s life. She will have to devote herself to the baby and always be there
for the child. According to Richard Dawkins, you would probably be condemning yourself as a mother

The Era Of The Republic Essay
In the last decades of the Republic, the struggles between competing warlords with dynastic ambitions
spurred related changes in visual culture. One of the new institutions of this changed world was the
household of Gaius Octavianus, better known by his title of Augustus, and its supremacy. This resulted
in the promulgation of the notion that it was both an exemplum to be admired and imitated,
synonymous with the Roman state itself. In The Power of Images in the Age of Augustus, Paul Zanker
examines the role of images in the cultural program of Augustus, arguing that a new visual language
developed to express the ideals of the monarchy and to bolster the social changes desired by the new
government. For instance, in 35 BCE, public statues of living women, honorific portraits of Augustus
wife, Livia Drusilla, the first empress of Rome and his sister, Octavia, were initiated by Augustus and
dedicated by a senatus consultum. Sadly, these portraits are only known from Cassius Dio and their
original location of display in Rome is unknown. However, the very fact that the Senate had to
authorise such portraits by a special decree, suggests the unique nature of such public honours to
women.
Cassius Dio records that these women were correspondingly given both freedom from tutela and
sacrosanctity, an honour traditionally bequeathed to tribunes, which protected the women from
physical harm and verbal insult. Flory argues that while Octavia needed this sacrosanctity due to the

Canadian Senate Reform
The legislative branch of the Canadian government is divided between an upper house, the Senate, and
a lower house, the House of Commons. This system is known as a bicameral legislature, and is a
feature of many governments. In Canada, much of the legislative and executive power lies in the
House of Commons, and by extension the Prime Minister. The Senate, however, exists in its current
form primarily for the purpose of legislative review. Despite the Senate s seemingly negligible role, or
perhaps because of it, it is the most criticized institution of government in Canada (Franks, 1988).
While it has remained largely unchanged, movements aimed at either Senate reform or abolition, have
been essential to Canadian politics for much of recent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Notwithstanding the many shortcomings of the Senate, it is an important institution that serves an
essential purpose. Although it is rarely commended publicly for its accomplishments, other public
servants and academics praise the Senate for the breadth and quality of its investigative and scrutiny
functions in committee (Smith, 2003). In order to understand the Senate, one must distinguish the
roles of the upper and lower houses. While the House of Commons serves the elective function of
making or unmaking government the Senate is not a confidence chamber and thus serves a distinct,
yet equally relevant role (Smith, 2003). The Senate, and bicameralism more broadly, was instituted as
a constraint on government. Its justification rests on obstruction: rather than empower, it restrains
government (Smith, 2003). This impediment to the unchecked power of the House of Commons
justifies the preservation of the Senate as an institution. While some consider the Senate unnecessary
or redundant, it is an essential element of Canadian government. However, despite its significance, it
is not particularly well liked and some consider it to be the most criticized institution of government in
Canada (Frank, 1988). For over sixty years, the issue of Senate reform or abolition has been inherent
to Canadian political discourse (Frank, 1988). Given the importance of the Senate in Canadian

This song is released on their 2003 Elephunk album and the music video is directed by Will.I.Am, one of the group members. The song is talking about all of the social, racial, and other issues that is going on in the world. We as a country is trying to help other countries with their problems and issues, but we have issues of our own that we cannot even solve. Some Americans thinks this country is perfect and we do not have flaws, but they are sadly mistaken because of all of the hatred and violence we have toward one another, just because their skin tone may not be the same. Richard s Behavior At School The school counselor noticed several irregularities with Richard s behavior, such as the obvious inattention, distractibility, lack of organization, reoccurring daydreaming, and inability to follow directions in multiple settings, which suggested that his difficulties were not solely based on a lack of intrinsic motivation or understanding. The school counselor described that every year Richard performed exceptionally well on standardized tests; however, he performed poorly on assignments and achievement tests and had terrible penmanship. His reading level was proficient, and he was talented in physical education and art. Yet, Richard was easily distractible, disruptive in class, and highly disorganized. Richard also struggled in mathematics and socially because he did not get along with his classmates. Although he remained in his seat in the fourth grade, Richard had difficulty remaining in his seat and touched his classmates belongings constantly in the first and second grade. Although isolation, structured classroom environment, and consistent negative consequences improved Richard s behavior at school, the school counselor was concerned because he still performed at a level below what was expected of him. Additionally, his distractibility and difficulty following directions occurred in the classroom, at home, and during baseball. Cause And Effect Of The Arctic Sea Ice People know that Human driven climate change (Fiona Harvey, November 25, 2017) has become an international issue which has triggered to warm air temperature. The Arctic, the regions around the North Pole, has huge ice. Since the more the temperature rises, the more ice melt, climate change and the ice melt have extremely a strong connection. Furthermore, a lot of species live below the sea of the Arctic, also there are some people who place their home in this area. As a result, global warming leads to the change of the Arctic sea ice condition which influences the environment and the people of the Arctic. Arctic sea ice has responsibility for stopping the rise of temperature on the earth; however, the expanse of the ice has been decreasing. Arctic sea ice has a significant element on the earth. The ice plays a role of lowering the sea and air temperature like air conditioner (Stevens, F. 2016) by reflecting the heat of the sun back to the universe. This means the ice has the ability of regulating heat. However, the air conditioner has not been working as much as people expect. According to Science Daily, the amount of the Arctic sea ice in 2017 has gotten smaller, 7 million square kilometers in 1970s and 1980s to 4.7 million square kilometers, and the ice thickness has decreased thirty percent compared to between 2001 and 2004 (Alfred Wegener Institute, September 15, 2017). • 7. The Golden Age Of Greek Essay Kevin S. Burton Sohn English II Honors 7 April 2015 Word Count: 1360 The Golden Age of Greece The golden age of Greece, especially the Periclean age of Athens, was considered to be the defining age of Greek history. The amount of cultural and intellectual innovation in Greece was at its height during the nearly 200 year period. From 500 300 BC, many great thinkers and philosophers rose and gave many a new perspective on life. As Matt Barrett explained, many philosopers, such as Socrates, dwelled in Athens, along with his then pupil, Plato. Socrates was one of the first of the philosophers to believe that life was not for collecting material possesions, or riches, but that it was for knowing oneself and the world around oneself. Socrates was later executed and forced to drink Hemlock for corrupting the youth of the city. Plato, Socrates pupil, was considered an idealist. Furthermore, according to Barrett, it is said that all philosophy is but a footnote to Plato. (Barrett) After the end of the Persian Wars, Athens began a nearly 50 year period of prosperity under Pericles, known as the Age of Pericles. During this time the Parthenon was built, and Athens became the cultural, intellectual, and the artistic center of the Greek world. Throughout this time period, Athens attracted a number of intellectuals and philosophers, which brought about a cultural and intellectual high point in Greek history. The Pros And Cons Of Print Journalism As previously mentioned, graphic journalism is not the only medium which uses both text and image in order to communicate and convey information print journalism also incorporates visual language into the work, because according to the research people are more likely to read a story accompanied by a photograph (Wolf Grotta 1985, in Nyberg 2006: 100), but actually does it in a completely different way. While the news photograph is ancillary to the text (Nyberg 2006: 100) and plays a supportive accompanying role, in comics journalism illustrations and text are integrated and equivalent, working together to compose a narrative and create a coherent whole, but remaining distinct from each other. Moreover, a photograph usually stands alone seeming to capture the whole story in a single moment (Williams 2005: 55), and though has the capacity to draw attention and cause a viewer s reaction, it cannot by itself provide an interpretation or create a narrative coherence, requiring captions and descriptions to be ... Understanding the similarities of Strain Theory, amp; General Theory of Crime Angela Sampson # 2396467 Sociology 345: Social Control Professor: James Chriss Cleveland State University April 30th 2012 Abstract: The purpose is to identify the similarities between Strain theories, and General Theory of Crime. Strain was developed from the work of Durkheim and Merton and taken from the theory of anomie. Durkheim focused on the decrease of societal restraint and the strain that resulted at the individual level, and Merton studied the cultural imbalance that exists between goal and the norms of the individuals of society. General Theory of Crime , In 1990 Michael R. Gottfredson and Travis Hirschi wrote the book A General ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In essence, general strain theory proposed that an increase in strain would lead to an increase in anger, which may then lead to an increase in crime (Agnew, 1992:61). These previously mentioned goals turn into strain when the individual is faced with certain disjunctions in their life. The first of these disjunctions is the one that is the focus of previous strain theories, the disjunction between aspirations and expectations. This is founded on the principle of culturally bound goals and values that are accepted by everyone but yet not available to everyone. This idea of the American Dream then causes strain and frustration in the individual who cannot achieve this dream through legitimate means. This theory has been criticized because it does not explain middle class crime, it only focuses monetary goals, social class is the only barrier that is considered, and it does not specify why some turn to deviance. The loss of positively valued stimuli Agnew s research in the stress literature led him to the discovery that the removal of positive stimuli can also cause strain. This loss could manifest itself in the form of a death or a broken relationship with a friend or romantic partner, or it could be a result of the theft of a valued object. According to Agnew, the strain that is felt by the individual die to the loss could lead the individual to delinquency as the individual attempts to prevent its loss, ... When Sanders, a relatively unknown, small state senator of Vermont officially announced on May 26, 2015 that he was running for the presidency, the media coverage was relatively scarce. For years the Democratic National Committee (DNC) led by the former co chairman for Hillary Clinton s 2008 presidential campaign and mainstream media had assumed Hillary Clinton to be the Democratic nominee. According to these pundits, Hillary was, due to her experience, recognisability, and vast amount of donor money, considered to be the ideal candidate for the Democratic Party. • 14. Red Imagery In Macbeth Imagery is defined as visually descriptive or figurative language, especially in a literary work. William Shakespeare is notorious for using strong metaphors in his work to create vivid images in readers minds, especially in his play Macbeth. Using such examples sets a dark tone for the story and allows readers to form their own mental interpretation. In the play, imagery is prevalent through references to blood, animals, clothing, and nighttime, symbolising darkness. Whether these themes are shown through characters actions, speech, or just implied thoughts, they are present and plentiful. The color red is associated with energy, war, danger, strength, power, passion, love, and most notably, blood. In Macbeth, there is real bloodshed from death, but it is also as a symbol for harsh deeds. Shakespeare uses sharp blood red imagery because it is easy to visualize for readers since they are so familiar with the color. One of the boldest references in the play occurs in Act II, scene II when Lady Macbeth replies to Macbeth s admission of guilt. Here, she also admits to having blood on her hands, and the stain which later comes back to haunt her is revealed. Her line My hands are of your color but I shame to wear a heart so white. strongly portrays imagery because the reader can see the defined line between white, purity, and red, sin. Pressure ulcers, also known as pressure sores or bed sores , are a type of hospital acquired condition that may develop during a hospital admission if proper risk assessment is not performed by a registered nurse (RN). Pressure ulcers form over bony prominences, such as the back, heel, ischium, sacrum, and elbow, when circulation of these prominences is impaired (Jarvis, 2012). Pressure ulcers may develop when a person is confined to a bed or immobilized, which impedes proper delivery of oxygen and nutrients to the skin resulting in cell death (Jarvis, 2012). Pressure ulcers are divided into four stages. In stage I, a nonblanchable redness of intact skin appears that does not disappear for 24 hours after pressure is relieved. In stage II, there is partial thickness erosion of the epidermis or the dermis layer of the skin. Full thickness pressure ulcers are a stage III ulcer, which extend into subcutaneous tissue. Lastly, stage IV pressure ulcers involve all skin layers and may expose muscle, tendon or bone. • 41. The Era Of The Republic Essay In the last decades of the Republic, the struggles between competing warlords with dynastic ambitions spurred related changes in visual culture. One of the new institutions of this changed world was the household of Gaius Octavianus, better known by his title of Augustus, and its supremacy. This resulted in the promulgation of the notion that it was both an exemplum to be admired and imitated, synonymous with the Roman state itself. In The Power of Images in the Age of Augustus, Paul Zanker examines the role of images in the cultural program of Augustus, arguing that a new visual language developed to express the ideals of the monarchy and to bolster the social changes desired by the new government. For instance, in 35 BCE, public statues of living women, honorific portraits of Augustus wife, Livia Drusilla, the first empress of Rome and his sister, Octavia, were initiated by Augustus and dedicated by a senatus consultum. Sadly, these portraits are only known from Cassius Dio and their original location of display in Rome is unknown. However, the very fact that the Senate had to authorise such portraits by a special decree, suggests the unique nature of such public honours to women. Cassius Dio records that these women were correspondingly given both freedom from tutela and sacrosanctity, an honour traditionally bequeathed to tribunes, which protected the women from physical harm and verbal insult. Flory argues that while Octavia needed this sacrosanctity due to the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This system is known as a bicameral legislature, and is a feature of many governments. In Canada, much of the legislative and executive power lies in the House of Commons, and by extension the Prime Minister. The Senate, however, exists in its current form primarily for the purpose of legislative review. Notwithstanding the many shortcomings of the Senate, it is an important institution that serves an essential purpose. Although it is rarely commended publicly for its accomplishments, other public servants and academics praise the Senate for the breadth and quality of its investigative and scrutiny functions in committee (Smith, 2003). In order to understand the Senate, one must distinguish the roles of the upper and lower houses. While the House of Commons serves the elective function of making or unmaking government the Senate is not a confidence chamber and thus serves a distinct, yet equally relevant role (Smith, 2003). The Senate, and bicameralism more broadly, was instituted as a constraint on government. Its justification rests on obstruction: rather than empower, it restrains government (Smith, 2003). This impediment to the unchecked power of the House of Commons justifies the preservation of the Senate as an institution. While some consider the Senate unnecessary or redundant, it is an essential element of Canadian government. However, despite its significance, it is not particularly well liked and some consider it to be the most criticized institution of government in Canada (Frank, 1988). For over sixty years, the issue of Senate reform or abolition has been inherent to Canadian political discourse (Frank, 1988). Given the importance of the Senate in Canadian ...
