Gallatin Valley Food Bank Reflection
Last week I worked at the Gallatin Valley Food Bank both within the garden and the warehouse. I
always water the food bank s garden every Monday morning, but last week I also spent an afternoon
weeding the garden. I plan to spend a day each of the coming weeks in the garden weeding. Last
week, I sent an email to HRDC requesting more volunteer options and the opportunity to shadow
someone for a day, but I have yet to hear back. HRDC is a non profit community action agency in
Bozeman which offers programs and services involving housing, food nutrition, child youth
development, senior empowerment, community transportation, home heating, and community
development . This Thursday the HRDC is hosting a fundraiser carnival and it is my hope to volunteer
at it. My project has expanded from recipes for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Essay on Igor Stravinsky
IGOR STRAVINSKY
Igor Stravinsky is considered by many the greatest composer of the 20th Century. Several composers
have made breakthroughs and great accomplishments in the past 100 years, but Stravinsky has
dominated nearly every trend set. He was born near St. Petersburg, Russia in Oranienbaum, on June
17, 1882. He was born to a famous Russian bass opera singer, Fyodor Ignatyevich Stravinsky.
Igor Stravinsky was third of a family of four boys. He grew up hearing his father practicing his opera
and attending local ballets. He also started taking piano lessons when he was 9 years old and
continued on with musical notation and composition instruction. All throughout his early life he
studied music. However, although he had been brought ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He was so impressed by Stravinsky s promise as a composer that he invited him to join his small
group of artistic assistants. For the rest of the 1909 season Diaghilev asked Stravinsky to compose
various pieces of ballet music. Then, in 1910, Diaghilev commissioned Stravinsky to compose his new
ballet, The Firebird.
The result of his commission was the first real modern ballet. It set the example of the composer
consulting both with the choreographer and the stage/costuming artist during the composition.
amp;#9;For the next few years, Stravinsky and Diaghilev worked very closely together. Diaghilev
wanted all of Stravinsky s new works to be produced by his company. Stravinsky s next two works for
the ballet, Petrouchka (1910 11) and The Rite of Spring (1912 13) are perfectly crafted, powerful
pieces, drawing on Stravinsky s rhythmic and harmonic imagination. The most amazing part is that
Stravinsky had not even reached middle age at the time he composed these pieces. The Rite of Spring
created a violent reaction because no one had ever heard music that carried this much premature
power. It was almost as though there was a sense of jealousy from his colleagues. The entire musical
establishment criticized stravinsky, but he didn t really seem to care.
amp;#9;During World War I, Stravinsky lived in Switzerland. There he concentrated on smaller scale
chamber pieces, piano works, and songs. One of these, The Soldier s Tale,

Memories Of The Gulf War Syndrome

MEMORY LOSS IN GULF WAR SYNDROME
Katherine Krishun
What Causes Memory Loss in Gulf War Syndrome? Chemical Exposure or Stress?
PSY 101/112
10/24/2016
Gulf War Syndrome is a chronic multi symptom illness affecting 250,000 of the 697,000 1991 Desert
Storm Gulf War veterans. Iraq and Afghanistan war veterans may also suffer from this syndrome. The
Veterans Administration refers to these illnesses as chronic multi symptom illness and undiagnosed
illnesses . We prefer not to use the term Gulf War Syndrome when referring to medically unexplained
symptoms reported by Gulf War veterans. Why? Because symptoms vary widely (Gulf War Veterans
Medically Unexplained Illnesses, 2016). The illnesses included in this syndrome are: chronic fatigue
syndrome, fibromyalgia, functional gastrointestinal disorders, and undiagnosed illnesses including
fatigue, cardiovascular disease, muscle and joint pain, respiratory disorders, headaches neurological
and psychological problems, and sleep disorders.
Research is being done on the correlation of combined chemical exposure plus stress and their effects
on memory. Many veterans suffer from PTSD and some researchers believe that the Gulf War
Syndrome (GWS) symptoms are in response to the stress associated with PTSD alone. Other
researchers believe that along with stress, there are neurological deficits linked with chemical
exposures.
Prior to entering the theatre of operation, veterans were given

Museum Reflection
Throughout this course, I have reaffirmed my desire to engage others in the process of learning. I have
always been fascinated by the potential museums possess to involve visitors in inquiry and even
cultivate a love for learning. Accordingly, my goal has always been to bring my passion for learning to
museum visitors. Due to my background in archaeology, I have always given the bulk of my attention
to objects within museums, giving little thought to my own experience let alone the experiences of
others. Museums Today: Missions and Function, however, has taught me to emphasize the museum
audience and the experience of visiting rather than the collection itself. The concept of being audience
focused rather than collections driven, is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is important to remember that not all learning occurs by reading labels or taking tours. Learning
about oneself or connecting to an object through quiet contemplation is just as valuable for learners
and still, fosters a relationship with acquiring knowledge. Allowing a visitor to choose how they
acquire knowledge in a way that best fits their needs is vital to creating a positive outlook regarding
the process of learning.
Another way that one can cultivate a love of learning in the museum is through engaging exhibitions.
The methodical approach that the Monterey Bay Aquarium takes in designing its exhibitions
exemplifies how to create engaging programming. The aquarium focuses on its mission, the message
of the exhibit, and the type of visitor they want to attract before they begin to plan the exhibit itself.
By using this method, the exhibition is guided by its message rather than by design. Of course, an
exhibition in which the meaning is readily apparent is more engaging than one that is aesthetically
pleasing but has an unclear message. Understanding the message gives the visitor the opportunity to
continue thinking about the collection long after they have left the museum. For this reason, there are
more avenues for learning as well. This kind planning shifts the focus to the audience and how they
interact with the collection rather than the collection itself, which is

Ethics And Moral Standards On Student Behavior
Is it ethical to evaluate teachers based on student behavior?
The education field represents the one of the largest industries in the United States. Due to the
enormous capacity of professionals, many supervisors and managers intend to set clear standards for
every educator. Therefore, teachers embody the strict guidelines to accept the recognition of an
exceptional educator. Teaching symbolizes effort, care, and knowledge, characteristics that exemplify
a small portion of every educator. Along with great accomplishments, responsibility and ethics impact
an educator s action. As a result, ethics and moral standards influence future generations at a higher
level every time.
Although ethical and moral standards change over time, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The presence of confusion in a situation, causes differences and disputes leading to ethical dilemmas.
In a perfect, ideal society nothing could possibly encounter arguments, but in a realistic world
common ground in disputes, the result from two or more opposing sides compromising to find a
solution. In order to avoid and eliminate excessive ethical dilemmas in the education industry, many
professionals establish certain ethical standards to prevent work environment issues. Contrary to the
set standards, many educators explain the unfairness in which teachers receive evaluations.
So, is it ethical to evaluate teachers based on student behavior? The problem lies in the grading
process. The teachers are commonly evaluated everywhere in the world. Sometime the way teachers
are evaluated, lacks the complete capacity of the teacher. Although multiple evaluations are taken
during the school year, even some of the observations are not as clear as the teachers. Since the
evaluations are somewhat unexpected, teachers have no way of controlling the way their class will act.
Therefore taking into consideration the student s behaviors may cause a misinterpretation.
For example would it be okay to finalize the teacher s grade based on the way the students behave?
Since the evaluations are at least twice a year, it is very likely that the teacher will not score as high as
the demanding rubric of most of the evaluations. But teachers need to be

Womanhood In Toni Morrison s Sula
Sula is such a complicated character that it is difficult to define her. She is an unusual child that
matures into a determined woman, resisting suppression and hatred from the community in which she
lives. She is neither positive nor idealistic, and refuses to place herself in a space where she will be
relegated as the other of the other . Her complex characteristics and unusual behavior consistently
deconstructs and questions stereotypical images of black womanhood and womanhood in general. Her
description of black women is realistic and varied. Embodying autonomy, curiosity, irregularity,
passion and danger, she represents the new black woman who challenges social norms and determines
to live a disillusioned life. As the new modern black ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But soon, a devastating frost overtakes the area and the moral righteousness that Sula frightens into in
the community begins to dissolve. Mothers who had defended their children from Sula s malevolence
(or who had defended their positions as mothers from Sula s scorn for the role) now had nothing to rub
up against...Now that Sula was dead and done with, they returned to steeping resentment of the
burdens of old people. Wives uncoddled their husbands; there seemed no further need to reinforce
vanity. (Sula 153 54) The community s moral resolve and harmony dissolve in the absence of Sula, the
woman who by defying social conventions motivated others to uphold them. No longer is the witch
the focus of their collective energies. The disintegration of the collective identity of the community,
which was defined by Sula s presence, is replaced with isolation between residents. This unfocused

Executive summary
Diva shoes is an international shoes company that is experiencing rapid growth. Due to this rapid
growth, the company never established a robust hedging strategy to protect itself against fluctuations
of the multiple currencies it engages with.
This situation became more severe in Japan. The company s growth in Japan exceeded all
expectations, and unlike other countries in which the company conducted business (Italy for example)
the company had almost no expenses there, and had to convert all the Yens it generated from selling
its merchandise to dollars.
In the last few years, the Yen appreciated against the dollars, making the company s lack of hedging
strategy have little to no impact on the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Again, I used the SG amp;A expenses as a percent of the revenue for 1994, then used the same ratio
for 1995. I m aware that this is not a great projection, as it ignores economies of scale and efficiency
improvements as the company grows, but for the purposes of this projection, it s the best I can do. The
calculation is shown in the excel spreadsheet. e. I estimated the Yen/Dollar exchange rate to be 90. It
is a bit higher than the current spot rate, but follows the trend according to exhibit 1. Exhibit 1 shows
an appreciation to the Yen, which slows down to a crawl near the beginning of 1995. Based on the
case I believe it is safe to assume a minor depreciation to the Yen for Sep 1995.
Based on the assumptions above I project revenues for 1995 to be $93,939,025.90
4. Similar to question 3, this question require me to make several assumptions. I ve used the exact
same assumptions as the ones made in question 3.
Using these assumptions, I project net income to be $8,874,315.89. This means that the EPS for 1995
is $0.74 which reflects a 20.71% growth year over year.
The full calculation and income statement for 1995 is shown in the attached spreadsheet. 5. The
statement is accurate. If Diva Shoes hedges with either an option or a forward contract that locks the
exchange rate of the Yen to 92 Yen/Dollar the EPS growth will still be above 15%. Full calculation can
be shown in the attached spreadsheet.

Michelangelo s Influence On Donatello
In 1489 at the age of 14 Michelangelo went to live and study with the Medici family. Living there he
had the opportunity to meet important figures of the literary and humanistic scene of that time. Some
of the people that became important to Michelangelo were Angelo Poliziano a philosopher, Pico delia
Mirandola a poet, Marsilio Ficino and Cristoforo Landino {Dante s annotator} and also studied under
the guidance of a respected sculptor Bertoldo di Giovanni {1420 1491} once a student himself of

moved this special kind of yoga to the western in 1996. This special kind of yoga is somewhat a

at the base of your spine. That is why some people call kundalini yog the yoga of awareness .
Kundalini yoga works on both physical and mental aspects. When you ask yoga instructors or teachers

they all agree that kundalini yoga is the most spiritual kinds of yoga. In kundalini yoga you basically
focus on breathing and movement. Kundalini means curled or coiled, some people represent it by a

Sylvia Plath s Poem Mirror
Mirror
In today s day and age, it seems that some would do anything to erase a crease in their forehead, or a
crinkle on the outskirts of an eye. Because time is something that we can never get back, growing
older is an idea that many try to deny, especially in today s society. Told from a mirror s point of view,
the mirror in the poem witnesses the truth of what it means to age. Sylvia Plath s poem, Mirror, is a
poem that deals with the truths and lies in the struggle a woman goes through when grasping the
reality of aging. The poem is appealing due to the ways in which Plath successfully uses
personification, figurative language, and diction in her writing to emphasize this idea, as well how the
concept of keeping up appearances and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As the woman has aged, she no longer likes what she sees in the reflection of the mirror, and although
it is the cruel reality of life, Plath s metaphor of a mirror being a lake can be appreciated because to
look inside one s soul is of essence in deciphering who one is.
Another metaphor that can be found in the poem starts on line 12 when the mirror states, Then she
turns to those liars, the candles or the moon (12). This use of figurative language of the poem
addresses how growing old can be disguised for some time. The light that surrounds both candles and
the moon is typically either dim or completely dark. Shedding light upon a subject means to shed light
upon the truth and to see everything for what it truly is. If one chooses to stay in the dark, one objects
him or her self to be sheltered from reality, just as the elderly woman shelters herself from the reality
of aging. This metaphor can be appreciated because here again, Plath s poem relates to today s culture.
Women especially seem to fear growing old. In order to counteract any signs of aging, many women
turn to anti aging creams, or even the occasional (or not so occasional in some cases) Botox injection.
Just like the liars, the candle and the moon, these remedies only trick women into thinking they ve
defeated time itself and are still able to grasp onto their youthful appearance. Plath s comparison of
candle and moonlight to liars is genius. The

The Framework Popper Is An Intellectual Framework
The framework Popper is talking about is an intellectual framework. A neutral question is without
bias, informative leading, and isn t influenced by outside sources to receive the truest and most neutral
response; however, I define a neutral question as to be neutral in order to truth without a hidden
meaning within its structure, the opposite would be a leading question that encourages a desired
answer. So, there is no such thing as a neutral observation or perceiving something as neutral. The
statement suggests that areas of knowing lead us in a certain direction. By asking a question, one seeks
knowledge beyond a neutral way. What is the effect of bias on asking questions? Is prior knowledge of
something necessary before asking a question? Can we ask a question without context? How do areas
of knowing affect the neutrality of a question? The areas of knowing that will be looked at will be
natural science and history as scientists and historians find answers by beginning with questions and
observations. Several assumptions can be made such as if neutral questions are impossible then
everything carries bias. In order to ask a question and answer it, there can be no neutrality. All
questions are leading questions. It is impossible and possible to have a neutral question; this essay will
discuss the extent to which the statement is valid in natural science and history. There is no such thing
as a neutral question. Everything in science has a goal or ending that is trying to

Philosophy Statement
When I finished junior high school I enrolled in a training program to teach elementary students in
some of the most remote regions of Mexico. I was excited about the prospect of teaching reading,
writing, and mathematics to underprivileged students in areas of my country that needed education
more than anything else to bring them into the modern era. I had seen the difference a few good
teachers had made in my life. It was one of my earliest ideas to help the youth in my country rise
above the limitations of their past and see the possibilities available to them with hard work in school.
My father did not think it was such a good idea to allow his 16 year old daughter to travel without

Even though I would have preferred to dabble in other courses and learn more of the liberal arts, I felt
an obligation to find, and finish a program that would yield the greatest monetary rewards for my
effort. I put my nose to the grindstone and worked to become the best accountant I could be. However,
as much as I wanted to become an accountant, I knew I would prefer teaching accounting more than
actually being an accountant.
Over time the subjects I want to teach have changed, but my enthusiasm is still the same. I keep
thinking that there is no better place to change the world than in a classroom. In the beginning I
wanted to become an elementary school teacher, and later I wanted to become an accounting teacher.
Now I want to become a Spanish teacher at the postsecondary level.
So why do I want to become a Spanish teacher? I love the idea of teaching something once and
knowing my students will be able to apply or share their information many times. For instance, if I
teach my students how to casually greet native Spanish speakers instead of using formal addresses that
are found in textbooks; the next time they go to a Mexican restaurant, they can speak to their server in
a friendlier manner. Even if this seems insignificant, the Mexican waiter will appreciate the effort and
the American will be better off than if they only established a monolingual conversation. Connecting

Effects Of Data Aggregation In Wireless Sensor Networks
Data Aggregation in Wireless Sensor Networks Introduction
Wireless sensor networks are usually deployed in infrastructure less environment with the sensor
nodes themselves being battery powered (low powered) devices so, data aggregation is an attractive
method to reduce the power requirements of the individual sensor nodes that sense, record and
transmit the data about their surroundings. Data aggregation may refer to any number of methods that
allow for the reduction of the volume of data that the sensor nodes must exchange by combining data
from multiple sources and removing redundancies, thereby reducing the power consumption by the
sensor nodes.
The main goal of data aggregation algorithms is to gather and aggregate data in an energy ... Show

Some node like cluster head aggregate the data prompting in network aggregation. Aggregation
structures can be hierarchy based or backbone based or even structureless. Structure less protocols try
to eliminate the energy consumption of maintaining structures and are preferred for small networks.
For larger ad hoc wireless sensor networks hierarchy based networks like tree based, cluster based
aggregation is preferred.
The Tiny AGgregation(TAG), Energy Aware Data Aggregation (EADA) are examples of protocols
based on Tree structure. Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy (LEACH) is a well known cluster
based protocol. Both tree based and cluster based rely on passing and aggregating data at a higher
level node (cluster head/ root of branch) thereby exploiting the topology of the network. Theses
protocols aggregate data from multiple sources at a node a layer higher in topology to the source node.
Usually statistical sampling is done to remove the redundancies and improve the accuracy of
generated data (that is sent) to the raw data.
Aggregation structures introduce latency to the network but reduce the amount and number of
transmissions thereby saving the network capacity.
Aggregation Functions: Protocols based purely on how to aggregate data exists. These protocols rely
on forecasting and/or compression of data to reduce the transmissions and hence improve the energy
efficiency. However, the tradeoff here is that the

The San Francisco Earthquake By Jerome Clark
Rajdeep Singh
Men lost their reason at these awful moments ( The San Francisco Earthquake, 1906 4). This was said
by Jerome Clark, a survivor of San Francisco s deadliest earthquake in history. In this single sentence,
he described the entire disaster through his own eyes ( The San Francisco Earthquake, 1906 4). The
Great San Francisco Earthquake may be studied by examining the earthquake, the fire, and the
aftermath of the disaster.
The night before the earthquake was almost like any other night in the bristling city of San Francisco.
The world famous opera singer, Enrico Caruso, was performing at the city s Grand Opera House. The
music and singing filled the building with harmonious notes. Caruso s voice was like thunder, and it
seemed to shake the Opera House. Little did the spectators know that the earthquake to come in a
matter of hours would not only shake, but destroy San Francisco s Opera House (Montagne 1). On
April 18, 1906 at 5:12 AM, the citizens of San Francisco were awakened by intense shaking. The
earthquake lasted from forty to sixty seconds, with a small fore shock that arrived 20 seconds earlier.
It is difficult for scientists to estimate the intensity of this earthquake because of the early and
inaccurate equipment from the turn of the century. With today s modern equipment, seismologists
have estimated the earthquake to be a 7.7 to 8.3 on the Richter scale. This single quake ruptured 290
miles along California s San Andreas fault line

family represent. Although I was welcomed in Erica s family, I felt as if I did not belong in their
family. The only place I felt accepted was at school. The classroom represented a place where I
expressed my feelings without being ignored or judged by my peers. Also, I had very observant and
understanding teachers who had the best of my interest. I had one teacher , Mr. Francis, who believed
that I was capable of improving academically. At the end of his class, he noted in my report card that I
had potential to be academically competent, however, I needed to settle down and apply myself to
learning. His comments motivated me to do my best throughout elementary school. During elementary
school, I maintained healthy relationships with my peers. There were never any reports of misconduct
of any misunderstanding amongst my peers. In fact, interactions with them thought me how to engage
in fair play, wait my turn, build trust and explore my environment. In exploring my environment, I

The City Of A Mid Size City
The crosswalk in this city is typical of a mid size city. Small businesses line the busy street, and with
people eager to get to their destination, a combination of sights, sounds and smells unites to form this
crosswalk.
This city s intersection is lively with the commonplace sights of businesses, people and vehicles. On a
sunny and breezy afternoon, three Eastern and Western based businesses, on the far left, line up one
after another vying for attention from potential patrons. In the middle, the sidewalk is filled with an
array of people. At the forefront of the sidewalk there are three people that are on the edge of the
crosswalk. To the left, a medium build, middle aged white female with long black hair is about to
cross the crosswalk. She is wearing black shoes, a black dress and a white short sleeved blouse. Some
people would refer to this as business casual. Around her neck is a lanyard that appears to be carrying
an identification badge. She is holding a rolled up, brown lunch bag in her left hand. While on her cell
phone, she walks forward and looks downward as to shield her eyes. During her walk, her hair is
grazed by the wind. In the middle of the sidewalk, a thin, elderly white man with a gray beard man is
the focal point of the picture. He is wearing a brown fedora, thin framed eyeglasses along with a
brown coat, gray pants and black dress shoes. His eyes are gazing forward as if he just locked eyes
with someone from afar. Coincidentally, his body

The Importance Of Direct Democracy
As citizens of the United States, Americans have the responsibility of understanding their abilities in
regards to contribution to political decisions. Especially in recent years, Americans have come to
realize the true significance of direct democracy or a lack thereof. Although on a federal level direct
democracy is lacking, on the state level, including Californian government, direct democracy can have
a significant impact on the lives of citizens.
What identifies direct democracy as an important tool and a source of power for citizens is the direct
power they have over legislation and/or politics hence, direct democracy; the citizens do not need
approval and recognition by politicians, nor do they need to be led by them to succeed. The only
ingredient required for success is the support of the masses, which is generally more plausible with an
access to large sums of money. In general, there are three primary methods used in the execution of
direct democracy: referendum, recall, and initiative.
When citizens are unhappy over a piece of legislation that has already been ratified, it can be
petitioned, and if successful, ultimately lead to a popular vote for the law this is what is known as a
referendum. Referendum can come about in two prime ways legislative referendum and popular
referendum. Legislative referendum is where a legislature allows the people to vote on a bill as
opposed to the legislature voting on it, whereas popular referendum is an attempt to

The Bombing Of Nagasaki In The 1940 s
The 1940 s On August 9, 1945 the second atomic bomb dropped in Nagasaki, Japan by the United
states. The first atomic bomb that was dropped in Hiroshima was not enough to convince the Japanese
war council to accept the Potsdam Conference s demand for an unconditional surrender. Following the
plutonium based bombing in Hiroshima, The United States had already planned to drop the second
atomic bomb in Nagasaki. The Nagasaki A bomb, which was a uranium based bomb, was originally
set to be dropped on August 11, but was moved up in date due to unforeseen weather conditions. The
bomb was dropped at 11:02 a.m by Frederick Brock who was flying a B 29 bomber at 1,650 feet
above the city. The force of the atomic bombing was that of 22,000 tons of TNT and had between
60,000 and 80,000 victims. There is no exact figures available of victims because the force ... Show

the Shah received economic and military aid from the United States. With increased American policy

extremely different. Trump would like to reduce taxes especially to working and middle income
americans. He will make certain that the wealthy americans are paying their fair share. He will make
child care more affordable by reducing the cost and allowing families to withdraw the cost of
childcare from their taxes. Trump wants to eliminate special interests loopholes, manufacture a more
competitive business tax rate, and rejuvenate our economy. Hillary would like to reestablish fairness
to our tax codes by ensuring that the wealthiest americans do not pay a lower tax rate than
hardworking middle class citizens. She will abolish loopholes such as the ones that create a private tax

money supervisors to pay lower rates than some middle class families. Hilary would like to see

What Were The Mayans Greatest Achievements
What Was The Mayan Culture s Greatest Achievement? Two buckets of salt for only one container of
honey? No, I don t think so. This sort of bargaining occured when the Maya traded. The Maya was a
group of people who lived in Mesoamerica. They hunted and grew crops using slash and burn
agriculture. The Maya accomplished many things, so over the years there has been a debate over what
was their most remarkable achievement. However, there really isn t much of a contest when you
consider trade. The Mayan culture s most remarkable achievement was their trade route because of its
size, the physical effort required to make it work, and its significance. The trade route that the Maya
maintained was enormous. It stretched from the Yucatan Peninsula to Guatemala and Mexico to
Honduras. Also, not only did they trade on land, but they traveled by boat as well. The fact that this
early civilization could create and maintain such a large trading route is astonishing. ... Show more

Since the area to trade stretches far and wide, then that is how far the people must walk. There weren t
any animals, such as horses or donkeys, to ride. You had to walk the entire route from one stop to the

In document A it says, Porters carried goods for 10 hours per day , and Loads varied between 80 and

St. Louis Stereotypes
How has this experience influenced your view of St. Louis?
This experience has influenced my view of St. Louis stereotypes and residents. This was the first
extended amount of time I had spent north of Delmar. As a freshman, I remember hearing, don t go
north of Delmar and never cross the river ; however, this experience has changed my stereotypical
view of St. Louis. When I arrived at Walbridge elementary school, I did not know what to expect. The
streets were quiet and the neighborhood looked rundown, but I found the school seemed to be an
escape from what was going on outside. The school was not only a safe haven for its students, but also
their families, and I realized that Walbridge elementary school is so much more than a school.

Due to urban sprawl, the neighborhood of Walnut Park has been victim to marginalization. Similar to
Pruitt Igeo, urban sprawl caused residents to leave walnut park and take businesses and jobs with
them. Hammell (2016) states that, Occupational deprivation arises when populations have limited
choice in occupations because of their isolated location, their ability, or other circumstances . The
residents of Walnut Park cannot force business to stay in their neighborhood, so the lack of
occupations is outside of their immediate control. The deprivation of healthy occupations causes a
surplus in dark occupations, due to the fact people must find alternative ways to fill their time and
provide for their families. Also, the link between marginalization and occupation impacts culture.
Downes (1997) defines culture as, the learned part of human lifestyles . If a child grows up in a
community where there is illegal activity, lack of opportunity and decreased importance on education,
this is what they incorporate into their own life. The culture of Walnut Park is directly linked to its
occupational deprivation and feelings of inferiority. However, Walbridge elementary school is
working endlessly to shift this culture and bring opportunity back into their neighborhood.

Reaction Paper On Quidditch
When on Reddit I used the sub section of Quidditch to access more information. One interviewee from
reddit said Communication between clubs is through public Facebook events and directed invitations,
public advertisement such as posters, word of mouth (messaged or spoken), and by messages (email,
FB, WhatsApp) between committees. Communication intra club is generally through the same means.
Communication from official bodies is through the same means, but using more advanced/expensive
means of public communication. Freelance events operate in a similar way to events hosted by local
teams in terms of communication and advertisement. Communication between teams is relatively the
same, it switches between phones and email. The teams also meet in person to discuss important
information. Many of these players use the game as an outlet from their daily life. It adds an element
of fun and excitement to anyone s normal life. Quidditch teams are not only found in universities.
There is a map found on the website that gives you the location of the team in America, the ones
connected to a school and also those who are not. Teams found outside of schools and universities are
organized differently. Official teams have a captain who, like the president, send out all the
information and run practices. Like many other sports the goal of the team is to win the game. But
during my interview I learned the players are more interested in the social aspect of the game. One of
the men I interviewed said the goal of the club was to improve our skills and have fun playing against
other teams. But, of course the players are hoping to win the game because many are involved for the
competition. In the movie the players are depicted wearing a cape, long pants and padding. The teams
in real life has a slightly different uniform. Because they are not flying the cape is not needed, and
padding is optional. Their uniforms are similar to that of a soccer uniform and usually has their name
and number located on the back. Sports are something normalized by American society. Boston
magazine posted an article saying 45 million kids are involved in a sport while growing up, but many
of these children drop the sport because their parents

Ayn Anthem Chapter 6 Analysis
Using dialogue, setting, plot, and flashbacks, Ayn Rand sets tone and mood used to shape chapters 6
and 7 to fit the overall theme of Anthem. Throughout chapter 6 the author uses the grim dialogue to
set a gloomy an acidic tone to the text. Equality is going through punishment in this chapter for being
caught outside his work position. When he doesn t reveal his actions, he is lashed and battered until he
eventually finds a way to escape due to the facility not having much security. The lashings are
described with words that makes them seem as such brute actions, after a few lashes equality says, But
we did not cry out (page 64). The author wrote these pages in chapter 6, with such a deep connection,
as if she went through this herself. Her words come of in such a depressing and anxious manner,
which makes the whole text grim. A quote from chapter 6, Where have you been (page 65,) makes the
council seem so relentless and monotone, which contributes to the grim and sour tone. The actions in
which Equality is beleaguered reminds the reader of the truth in the situation. ... Show more content

Analysis Of Child s Responses And Mathematical Thinking
Section A: Analysis of Child s Responses and Mathematical Thinking
Simpler Counting Tasks/More or Less/Conservation In the simpler counting section, Kerget was able
to count the correct number of teddies one by one by saying the corresponding number words out.
This shows that Kerget could divide objects with the same attribute into one collection and is able to
count small collections using the one to one correspondence counting knowledge. Lovin, Karp, Bay
Williams and Van de Walle (2013) maintain that children develop the concept of one to one
correspondence when they count objects by paring one number word with exactly one object. When
he finished counting the four yellow teddies, he turned to the green ones, starting from number one
instead of number five. He successfully identified which collections had more teddies. This further
indicates that Kerget understands the idea of collection and has the beginning knowledge of the
concepts of more and less . Children s understanding of the meanings and relationships of more , less ,
and same is the fundamental attribute to their number sense development (Lovin, Karp, Bay Williams,
Van de Walle, 2013). Kerget used the one to one correspondence knowledge to put out five teddies and
stopped when he said: five, there are five teddies. He understands that the last number word he said is
the total number of the objects he has been counted. This tells me he understands the concept of
cardinality. Lovin, Karp,

Music Education Importance
The Importance of Music Education
Plato the philosopher once said I would teach children music, physics, and philosophy; but most
importantly music, for the patterns in music and all the arts are the keys to learning. Funds have been
cut in more than 80 percent of U.S. school districts since 2008. The very first programs to go are often
disciplines such as music, art and foreign language. This is in order to create more funding for
Science, Technology, Engineering and Math programs, also known as STEM. Although STEM
programs in public education are important, schools should include more music education because, it
increases brain activity, increases creativity in problem solving, and improves test scores.
Increases in brain activity
Build more brain matter.
Music education can actually increase brain activity and growth. One of the major things that studying
music in school can do for the brain is to increase the white and gray matter in the brain. In an article
by Christopher Bergland outlining ten ways music education increases brain activity. He said this about
a case studied from the Journal of Neuroscience(2015)
The researchers found that people who began musical training early in life had stronger connections
between motor regions. When comparing brain structure, musicians who started early showed
enhanced white matter in the corpus callosum, a bundle of nerve fibres that connects the left and right
motor regions of the brain.
This connection between the

Class C Airspace
There was no need for airspace regulation in the US up until 1903 when the Wright brothers began the
modern age of air flight with a homemade aircraft. Then in 1905, the work of the Wright brothers
accumulated into the first practical aircraft that and subsequent improvements that allowed aviation
technology to develop into commercial aircraft as well as war capable planes which were used in
World War I.
Early aviation was quite dangerous as a result of no advanced navigational technologies or automated
flight systems. A great deal of human error was possible with these early aircraft. During these times,
pilots flew close enough to the ground so that they could tell where they were going by using
roadways and railways. This sort of primitive ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A class C airspace must have met a basic physical infrastructure of a control tower and a radar
controlled approach system. The altitude limit for class C airspace is usually 4000 ft above the airport.
The overarching shelf like space has an upper and lower region, each with a radius of 10 miles and 20
miles, respectively. Although prior authorization/permission is not needed, aircraft that want to enter
class C airspace must establish radio communication with local air traffic control prior to entering the
airspace or be faced with trespassing. Aircraft pilots wishing to enter this area do not need special
certification but a speed limit of 230 mph must be obeyed below the altitude of 2500 feet and the
immediate area surrounding class C airspace. Pilots must be willing to follow commands from ATC
including requests not to enter the airspace or to vacate the airspace. Class C airspace designation is
only to be effective while the control tower and radar controlled approach system are active. Outside
of these hours, the airspace becomes Class D or E airspace depending on if the approach control is

Arts Is An Institution Of Higher Education
Wesleyan is an institution of higher education, and I would place education at the center of all fine arts
programming.
Many of us are aware of the transformative power of Arts performances and exhibits. I ll call this arts
enrichment. The Arts reach deeply into our unconscious minds and make an imprint beyond where the
written or spoken word can go. The Arts open minds to pluralistic thinking and banish barriers
between various groups within the human race without in your face politics or flag waving
sentimentality. With subtlety of expression, the Arts elevate us to our best selves, and our society to
both its cultural differences and oneness. But many of us know this.
Arts Education (capital E) is a noble pursuit to which I devote much of my life and career. Every
student needs the vocabulary, skills and perceptions gained by studying Art, Culture and the
Humanities. Too many people say, I took piano for a few years, but I quit, or I saw the movie, why go
out on a rainy night to see the play, unaware that music belongs to us all, art belongs to us all, and a
cathartic experience in a darkened theater makes us think, feel and become more human. Art is as
much a way for us to understand ourselves as knowing our history or understanding the laws of
physics. Art is not for artists and talented people, art is for us all, but some students may not see the
relevance of attending an art opening when final exams are looming.
Beyond arts enrichment and Arts Education, is the

Information And Knowledge About Bigchange s Operation And...
In order to gain more deep understanding and knowledge about BigChange s operation and future
plan, the researcher conducted an in depth interview with the founder of the company who is also the
current CEO. Hence, this part of the chapter 4 will display five main topics of the research collected
from the interview as well as providing some direct quotes of the CEO.
4.4.1. Company Overview
It is essential for the researcher to gain insights into the operation and development of BigChange. The
CEO responded with meticulous answers about current situation and growth strategies. To illustrate,
the CEO believes his company is in the early phase of growth. Though they have just offered their
services and products for 2 years, their performances in the market are remarkable with the annual
revenue of ₤2 million. Moreover, he estimates the market share that the company has gained after two
years working is from 0.5% to 1% and he confirms that the UK telematics is one of the biggest
markets in Europe. Thus it seems to take BigChange more time and efforts to achieve its ambition as a
market leader.
When asking about the current strategy of BigChange, the CEO demonstrated that they are providing
services and products to specified industries in the UK by creating different industry sites. Then they
introduce sites and services to a customer coming from those industries, it will be timesaving and easy
to offer and customise the sites. Furthermore, he illustrated that services can be a

The care of these patients is generally during aeromedical evacuation or rescue operations aboard
helicopters, propeller aircraft or jet aircraft. On board a rescue aircraft you would find a flight nurse
accompanied by flight medics and respiratory practitioners, as well as the option of a flight physician
for comprehensive emergency and critical transport teams. The inclusion of a flight physician is more
commonly seen in paediatric and neonatal transport teams. So, how much does a flight nurse make?
The answer to this question is quite wide in numbers, since the average U.S. flight nurse salary ranges
anywhere from $56,000 to $85,000 per year. The median salary for this career path is $72,000 per
year, which is slightly above the median salary of nurses who work on the ground.Their usual work
consists of 24 hour shifts two times per week, so it makes enough time for flight nurses to have an
additional, second job, usually as nurses in intensive care units or emergency rooms in the hospital
s.Same as many other professions, flight nurses who are more experienced earn more money. It is
common that flight nurse salary for those who have experience between 1 and 4 years belongs to a
range of $45,000 to $60,000, while for those who have from 5 to 9 years of experience, the average
salary goes between $58,000 and $82,000 each year. The flight nurses who are even more experienced
could be paid over $100,000 per year, which is double when compared to their inexperienced
colleagues. However, the experience carries additional responsibilities, such as scheduling, managing

Essay On Mealtimes
Just as SLPs utilize pacing strategies and alter flow rate through making equipment changes, they also
establish regular mealtimes (Arvedson, 1998). This may be accomplished by allowing concrete
intervals of time between feedings. For example, a newborn may be fed every two to three hours.
Similarly, the newborn should only engage in feedings a certain number of times per day. For
example, a newborn may be fed approximately 10 to 12 times daily. Developing a routine such as this
will help the newborn to develop hunger and satiety (Arvedson, 1998). Dr. Mabry explained that the

However, even though tube feeding is used as a management strategy for newborns with dysphagia, it
does not preclude the need for feeding related treatment. In many cases, newborns will only require
feeding tube placement until they are strong enough or well enough to eat on their own (ASHA, n.d.).
Dr. Mabry reported that since NG tubes are not inhibitory for oral feeding therapy, oral feeding may
still be conducted in newborns with NG tube placement (personal communication, November 5,
2017). However, this becomes more problematic in newborns with G tube placement. Therefore, Dr.
Mabry recommends deferring oral feeding until the tube is removed or placed nasally (personal
communication, November 5, 2017). While dysphagia may exist alone, it often occurs in addition to
other conditions (Prasse Kikano, 2009). Approximately 50% of pediatric patients who have feeding
disorders have multiple causes contributing to their feeding difficulties. Similarly, 90% of these
patients have at least one medical diagnosis (Lefton Greif, 2008). These are factors a SLP must
consider when determining how to manage dysphagia in newborns. Essentially, every newborn with
feeding/swallowing difficulty is different (Tuchman, 1988). Some patients experience difficulty
feeding and swallowing due to prematurity, which may result in poor coordination of breathing and
swallowing. Similarly,

  • 2. Gallatin Valley Food Bank Reflection Last week I worked at the Gallatin Valley Food Bank both within the garden and the warehouse. I always water the food bank s garden every Monday morning, but last week I also spent an afternoon weeding the garden. I plan to spend a day each of the coming weeks in the garden weeding. Last week, I sent an email to HRDC requesting more volunteer options and the opportunity to shadow someone for a day, but I have yet to hear back. HRDC is a non profit community action agency in Bozeman which offers programs and services involving housing, food nutrition, child youth development, senior empowerment, community transportation, home heating, and community development . This Thursday the HRDC is hosting a fundraiser carnival and it is my hope to volunteer at it. My project has expanded from recipes for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 3. Essay on Igor Stravinsky IGOR STRAVINSKY Igor Stravinsky is considered by many the greatest composer of the 20th Century. Several composers have made breakthroughs and great accomplishments in the past 100 years, but Stravinsky has dominated nearly every trend set. He was born near St. Petersburg, Russia in Oranienbaum, on June 17, 1882. He was born to a famous Russian bass opera singer, Fyodor Ignatyevich Stravinsky. Igor Stravinsky was third of a family of four boys. He grew up hearing his father practicing his opera and attending local ballets. He also started taking piano lessons when he was 9 years old and continued on with musical notation and composition instruction. All throughout his early life he studied music. However, although he had been brought ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He was so impressed by Stravinsky s promise as a composer that he invited him to join his small group of artistic assistants. For the rest of the 1909 season Diaghilev asked Stravinsky to compose various pieces of ballet music. Then, in 1910, Diaghilev commissioned Stravinsky to compose his new ballet, The Firebird. The result of his commission was the first real modern ballet. It set the example of the composer consulting both with the choreographer and the stage/costuming artist during the composition. amp;#9;For the next few years, Stravinsky and Diaghilev worked very closely together. Diaghilev wanted all of Stravinsky s new works to be produced by his company. Stravinsky s next two works for the ballet, Petrouchka (1910 11) and The Rite of Spring (1912 13) are perfectly crafted, powerful pieces, drawing on Stravinsky s rhythmic and harmonic imagination. The most amazing part is that Stravinsky had not even reached middle age at the time he composed these pieces. The Rite of Spring created a violent reaction because no one had ever heard music that carried this much premature power. It was almost as though there was a sense of jealousy from his colleagues. The entire musical establishment criticized stravinsky, but he didn t really seem to care. amp;#9;During World War I, Stravinsky lived in Switzerland. There he concentrated on smaller scale chamber pieces, piano works, and songs. One of these, The Soldier s Tale, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Memories Of The Gulf War Syndrome 9 MEMORY LOSS IN GULF WAR SYNDROME Katherine Krishun What Causes Memory Loss in Gulf War Syndrome? Chemical Exposure or Stress? PSY 101/112 10/24/2016 Gulf War Syndrome is a chronic multi symptom illness affecting 250,000 of the 697,000 1991 Desert Storm Gulf War veterans. Iraq and Afghanistan war veterans may also suffer from this syndrome. The Veterans Administration refers to these illnesses as chronic multi symptom illness and undiagnosed illnesses . We prefer not to use the term Gulf War Syndrome when referring to medically unexplained symptoms reported by Gulf War veterans. Why? Because symptoms vary widely (Gulf War Veterans Medically Unexplained Illnesses, 2016). The illnesses included in this syndrome are: chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, functional gastrointestinal disorders, and undiagnosed illnesses including fatigue, cardiovascular disease, muscle and joint pain, respiratory disorders, headaches neurological and psychological problems, and sleep disorders. Research is being done on the correlation of combined chemical exposure plus stress and their effects on memory. Many veterans suffer from PTSD and some researchers believe that the Gulf War Syndrome (GWS) symptoms are in response to the stress associated with PTSD alone. Other researchers believe that along with stress, there are neurological deficits linked with chemical exposures. Prior to entering the theatre of operation, veterans were given ... • 5. Museum Reflection Throughout this course, I have reaffirmed my desire to engage others in the process of learning. I have always been fascinated by the potential museums possess to involve visitors in inquiry and even cultivate a love for learning. Accordingly, my goal has always been to bring my passion for learning to museum visitors. Due to my background in archaeology, I have always given the bulk of my attention to objects within museums, giving little thought to my own experience let alone the experiences of others. Museums Today: Missions and Function, however, has taught me to emphasize the museum audience and the experience of visiting rather than the collection itself. The concept of being audience focused rather than collections driven, is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is important to remember that not all learning occurs by reading labels or taking tours. Learning about oneself or connecting to an object through quiet contemplation is just as valuable for learners and still, fosters a relationship with acquiring knowledge. Allowing a visitor to choose how they acquire knowledge in a way that best fits their needs is vital to creating a positive outlook regarding the process of learning. Another way that one can cultivate a love of learning in the museum is through engaging exhibitions. The methodical approach that the Monterey Bay Aquarium takes in designing its exhibitions exemplifies how to create engaging programming. The aquarium focuses on its mission, the message of the exhibit, and the type of visitor they want to attract before they begin to plan the exhibit itself. By using this method, the exhibition is guided by its message rather than by design. Of course, an exhibition in which the meaning is readily apparent is more engaging than one that is aesthetically pleasing but has an unclear message. Understanding the message gives the visitor the opportunity to continue thinking about the collection long after they have left the museum. For this reason, there are more avenues for learning as well. This kind planning shifts the focus to the audience and how they interact with the collection rather than the collection itself, which is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Ethics And Moral Standards On Student Behavior Is it ethical to evaluate teachers based on student behavior? The education field represents the one of the largest industries in the United States. Due to the enormous capacity of professionals, many supervisors and managers intend to set clear standards for every educator. Therefore, teachers embody the strict guidelines to accept the recognition of an exceptional educator. Teaching symbolizes effort, care, and knowledge, characteristics that exemplify a small portion of every educator. Along with great accomplishments, responsibility and ethics impact an educator s action. As a result, ethics and moral standards influence future generations at a higher level every time. Although ethical and moral standards change over time, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The presence of confusion in a situation, causes differences and disputes leading to ethical dilemmas. In a perfect, ideal society nothing could possibly encounter arguments, but in a realistic world common ground in disputes, the result from two or more opposing sides compromising to find a solution. In order to avoid and eliminate excessive ethical dilemmas in the education industry, many professionals establish certain ethical standards to prevent work environment issues. Contrary to the set standards, many educators explain the unfairness in which teachers receive evaluations. So, is it ethical to evaluate teachers based on student behavior? The problem lies in the grading process. The teachers are commonly evaluated everywhere in the world. Sometime the way teachers are evaluated, lacks the complete capacity of the teacher. Although multiple evaluations are taken during the school year, even some of the observations are not as clear as the teachers. Since the evaluations are somewhat unexpected, teachers have no way of controlling the way their class will act. Therefore taking into consideration the student s behaviors may cause a misinterpretation. For example would it be okay to finalize the teacher s grade based on the way the students behave? Since the evaluations are at least twice a year, it is very likely that the teacher will not score as high as the demanding rubric of most of the evaluations. But teachers need to be ... She is an unusual child that matures into a determined woman, resisting suppression and hatred from the community in which she lives. She is neither positive nor idealistic, and refuses to place herself in a space where she will be relegated as the other of the other . Her complex characteristics and unusual behavior consistently deconstructs and questions stereotypical images of black womanhood and womanhood in general. Due to this rapid growth, the company never established a robust hedging strategy to protect itself against fluctuations of the multiple currencies it engages with. This situation became more severe in Japan. The company s growth in Japan exceeded all expectations, and unlike other countries in which the company conducted business (Italy for example) the company had almost no expenses there, and had to convert all the Yens it generated from selling its merchandise to dollars. Exhibit 1 shows an appreciation to the Yen, which slows down to a crawl near the beginning of 1995. Based on the case I believe it is safe to assume a minor depreciation to the Yen for Sep 1995. Based on the assumptions above I project revenues for 1995 to be $93,939,025.90 4. Similar to question 3, this question require me to make several assumptions. I ve used the exact same assumptions as the ones made in question 3. Using these assumptions, I project net income to be $8,874,315.89. This means that the EPS for 1995 is $0.74 which reflects a 20.71% growth year over year. The full calculation and income statement for 1995 is shown in the attached spreadsheet. 5. • 12. Sylvia Plath s Poem Mirror Mirror In today s day and age, it seems that some would do anything to erase a crease in their forehead, or a crinkle on the outskirts of an eye. Because time is something that we can never get back, growing older is an idea that many try to deny, especially in today s society. Told from a mirror s point of view, the mirror in the poem witnesses the truth of what it means to age. Sylvia Plath s poem, Mirror, is a poem that deals with the truths and lies in the struggle a woman goes through when grasping the reality of aging. The poem is appealing due to the ways in which Plath successfully uses personification, figurative language, and diction in her writing to emphasize this idea, as well how the concept of keeping up appearances and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As the woman has aged, she no longer likes what she sees in the reflection of the mirror, and although it is the cruel reality of life, Plath s metaphor of a mirror being a lake can be appreciated because to look inside one s soul is of essence in deciphering who one is. Another metaphor that can be found in the poem starts on line 12 when the mirror states, Then she turns to those liars, the candles or the moon (12). This use of figurative language of the poem addresses how growing old can be disguised for some time. The light that surrounds both candles and the moon is typically either dim or completely dark. Shedding light upon a subject means to shed light upon the truth and to see everything for what it truly is. If one chooses to stay in the dark, one objects him or her self to be sheltered from reality, just as the elderly woman shelters herself from the reality of aging. This metaphor can be appreciated because here again, Plath s poem relates to today s culture. Women especially seem to fear growing old. In order to counteract any signs of aging, many women turn to anti aging creams, or even the occasional (or not so occasional in some cases) Botox injection. Just like the liars, the candle and the moon, these remedies only trick women into thinking they ve defeated time itself and are still able to grasp onto their youthful appearance. • 13. The Framework Popper Is An Intellectual Framework The framework Popper is talking about is an intellectual framework. A neutral question is without bias, informative leading, and isn t influenced by outside sources to receive the truest and most neutral response; however, I define a neutral question as to be neutral in order to truth without a hidden meaning within its structure, the opposite would be a leading question that encourages a desired answer. So, there is no such thing as a neutral observation or perceiving something as neutral. The statement suggests that areas of knowing lead us in a certain direction. By asking a question, one seeks knowledge beyond a neutral way. What is the effect of bias on asking questions? Is prior knowledge of something necessary before asking a question? Can we ask a question without context? How do areas of knowing affect the neutrality of a question? The areas of knowing that will be looked at will be natural science and history as scientists and historians find answers by beginning with questions and observations. Several assumptions can be made such as if neutral questions are impossible then everything carries bias. In order to ask a question and answer it, there can be no neutrality. All questions are leading questions. It is impossible and possible to have a neutral question; this essay will discuss the extent to which the statement is valid in natural science and history. I had seen the difference a few good teachers had made in my life. It was one of my earliest ideas to help the youth in my country rise above the limitations of their past and see the possibilities available to them with hard work in school. Effects Of Data Aggregation In Wireless Sensor Networks Data Aggregation in Wireless Sensor Networks Introduction Wireless sensor networks are usually deployed in infrastructure less environment with the sensor nodes themselves being battery powered (low powered) devices so, data aggregation is an attractive method to reduce the power requirements of the individual sensor nodes that sense, record and transmit the data about their surroundings. Data aggregation may refer to any number of methods that allow for the reduction of the volume of data that the sensor nodes must exchange by combining data from multiple sources and removing redundancies, thereby reducing the power consumption by the sensor nodes. The main goal of data aggregation algorithms is to gather and aggregate data in an energy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some node like cluster head aggregate the data prompting in network aggregation. Aggregation structures can be hierarchy based or backbone based or even structureless. Structure less protocols try to eliminate the energy consumption of maintaining structures and are preferred for small networks. For larger ad hoc wireless sensor networks hierarchy based networks like tree based, cluster based aggregation is preferred. The Tiny AGgregation(TAG), Energy Aware Data Aggregation (EADA) are examples of protocols based on Tree structure. Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy (LEACH) is a well known cluster based protocol. Both tree based and cluster based rely on passing and aggregating data at a higher level node (cluster head/ root of branch) thereby exploiting the topology of the network. Theses protocols aggregate data from multiple sources at a node a layer higher in topology to the source node. Usually statistical sampling is done to remove the redundancies and improve the accuracy of generated data (that is sent) to the raw data. Aggregation structures introduce latency to the network but reduce the amount and number of transmissions thereby saving the network capacity. Aggregation Functions: Protocols based purely on how to aggregate data exists. These protocols rely on forecasting and/or compression of data to reduce the transmissions and hence improve the energy efficiency. However, the tradeoff here is that the ... This was said by Jerome Clark, a survivor of San Francisco s deadliest earthquake in history. In this single sentence, he described the entire disaster through his own eyes ( The San Francisco Earthquake, 1906 4). The Great San Francisco Earthquake may be studied by examining the earthquake, the fire, and the aftermath of the disaster. The night before the earthquake was almost like any other night in the bristling city of San Francisco. The world famous opera singer, Enrico Caruso, was performing at the city s Grand Opera House. The music and singing filled the building with harmonious notes. Caruso s voice was like thunder, and it seemed to shake the Opera House. Little did the spectators know that the earthquake to come in a matter of hours would not only shake, but destroy San Francisco s Opera House (Montagne 1). On April 18, 1906 at 5:12 AM, the citizens of San Francisco were awakened by intense shaking. The earthquake lasted from forty to sixty seconds, with a small fore shock that arrived 20 seconds earlier. It is difficult for scientists to estimate the intensity of this earthquake because of the early and inaccurate equipment from the turn of the century. With today s modern equipment, seismologists have estimated the earthquake to be a 7.7 to 8.3 on the Richter scale. This single quake ruptured 290 miles along California s San Andreas fault line ... Although on a federal level direct democracy is lacking, on the state level, including Californian government, direct democracy can have a significant impact on the lives of citizens. What identifies direct democracy as an important tool and a source of power for citizens is the direct power they have over legislation and/or politics hence, direct democracy; the citizens do not need approval and recognition by politicians, nor do they need to be led by them to succeed. The only ingredient required for success is the support of the masses, which is generally more plausible with an access to large sums of money. In general, there are three primary methods used in the execution of direct democracy: referendum, recall, and initiative. When citizens are unhappy over a piece of legislation that has already been ratified, it can be petitioned, and if successful, ultimately lead to a popular vote for the law this is what is known as a referendum. One interviewee from reddit said Communication between clubs is through public Facebook events and directed invitations, public advertisement such as posters, word of mouth (messaged or spoken), and by messages (email, FB, WhatsApp) between committees. Communication intra club is generally through the same means. Communication from official bodies is through the same means, but using more advanced/expensive means of public communication. Freelance events operate in a similar way to events hosted by local teams in terms of communication and advertisement. Communication between teams is relatively the same, it switches between phones and email. The teams also meet in person to discuss important information. There is a map found on the website that gives you the location of the team in America, the ones connected to a school and also those who are not. Teams found outside of schools and universities are organized differently. Official teams have a captain who, like the president, send out all the information and run practices. • 29. Analysis Of Child s Responses And Mathematical Thinking Section A: Analysis of Child s Responses and Mathematical Thinking Simpler Counting Tasks/More or Less/Conservation In the simpler counting section, Kerget was able to count the correct number of teddies one by one by saying the corresponding number words out. This shows that Kerget could divide objects with the same attribute into one collection and is able to count small collections using the one to one correspondence counting knowledge. Lovin, Karp, Bay Williams and Van de Walle (2013) maintain that children develop the concept of one to one correspondence when they count objects by paring one number word with exactly one object. When he finished counting the four yellow teddies, he turned to the green ones, starting from number one instead of number five. He successfully identified which collections had more teddies. This further indicates that Kerget understands the idea of collection and has the beginning knowledge of the concepts of more and less . Children s understanding of the meanings and relationships of more , less , and same is the fundamental attribute to their number sense development (Lovin, Karp, Bay Williams, Van de Walle, 2013). Kerget used the one to one correspondence knowledge to put out five teddies and stopped when he said: five, there are five teddies. He understands that the last number word he said is the total number of the objects he has been counted. This tells me he understands the concept of cardinality. Lovin, Karp, ... • 30. Music Education Importance The Importance of Music Education Plato the philosopher once said I would teach children music, physics, and philosophy; but most importantly music, for the patterns in music and all the arts are the keys to learning. Funds have been cut in more than 80 percent of U.S. school districts since 2008. The very first programs to go are often disciplines such as music, art and foreign language. This is in order to create more funding for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math programs, also known as STEM. Although STEM programs in public education are important, schools should include more music education because, it increases brain activity, increases creativity in problem solving, and improves test scores. Increases in brain activity Build more brain matter. Music education can actually increase brain activity and growth. One of the major things that studying music in school can do for the brain is to increase the white and gray matter in the brain. In an article by Christopher Bergland outlining ten ways music education increases brain activity. He said this about a case studied from the Journal of Neuroscience(2015) The researchers found that people who began musical training early in life had stronger connections between motor regions. When comparing brain structure, musicians who started early showed enhanced white matter in the corpus callosum, a bundle of nerve fibres that connects the left and right motor regions of the brain. This connection between the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. Class C Airspace There was no need for airspace regulation in the US up until 1903 when the Wright brothers began the modern age of air flight with a homemade aircraft. Then in 1905, the work of the Wright brothers accumulated into the first practical aircraft that and subsequent improvements that allowed aviation technology to develop into commercial aircraft as well as war capable planes which were used in World War I. Early aviation was quite dangerous as a result of no advanced navigational technologies or automated flight systems. A great deal of human error was possible with these early aircraft. During these times, pilots flew close enough to the ground so that they could tell where they were going by using roadways and railways. This sort of primitive ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A class C airspace must have met a basic physical infrastructure of a control tower and a radar controlled approach system. The altitude limit for class C airspace is usually 4000 ft above the airport. The overarching shelf like space has an upper and lower region, each with a radius of 10 miles and 20 miles, respectively. Although prior authorization/permission is not needed, aircraft that want to enter class C airspace must establish radio communication with local air traffic control prior to entering the airspace or be faced with trespassing. Aircraft pilots wishing to enter this area do not need special certification but a speed limit of 230 mph must be obeyed below the altitude of 2500 feet and the immediate area surrounding class C airspace. Pilots must be willing to follow commands from ATC including requests not to enter the airspace or to vacate the airspace. Class C airspace designation is only to be effective while the control tower and radar controlled approach system are active. Outside of these hours, the airspace becomes Class D or E airspace depending on if the approach control is closed or the tower is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. Arts Is An Institution Of Higher Education Wesleyan is an institution of higher education, and I would place education at the center of all fine arts programming. Many of us are aware of the transformative power of Arts performances and exhibits. I ll call this arts enrichment. The Arts reach deeply into our unconscious minds and make an imprint beyond where the written or spoken word can go. The Arts open minds to pluralistic thinking and banish barriers between various groups within the human race without in your face politics or flag waving sentimentality. With subtlety of expression, the Arts elevate us to our best selves, and our society to both its cultural differences and oneness. But many of us know this. Arts Education (capital E) is a noble pursuit to which I devote much of my life and career. Every student needs the vocabulary, skills and perceptions gained by studying Art, Culture and the Humanities. Too many people say, I took piano for a few years, but I quit, or I saw the movie, why go out on a rainy night to see the play, unaware that music belongs to us all, art belongs to us all, and a cathartic experience in a darkened theater makes us think, feel and become more human. Art is as much a way for us to understand ourselves as knowing our history or understanding the laws of physics. Art is not for artists and talented people, art is for us all, but some students may not see the relevance of attending an art opening when final exams are looming. Beyond arts enrichment and Arts Education, is the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. Information And Knowledge About Bigchange s Operation And... In order to gain more deep understanding and knowledge about BigChange s operation and future plan, the researcher conducted an in depth interview with the founder of the company who is also the current CEO. Hence, this part of the chapter 4 will display five main topics of the research collected from the interview as well as providing some direct quotes of the CEO. 4.4.1. Company Overview It is essential for the researcher to gain insights into the operation and development of BigChange. The CEO responded with meticulous answers about current situation and growth strategies. To illustrate, the CEO believes his company is in the early phase of growth. Though they have just offered their services and products for 2 years, their performances in the market are remarkable with the annual revenue of ₤2 million. Moreover, he estimates the market share that the company has gained after two years working is from 0.5% to 1% and he confirms that the UK telematics is one of the biggest markets in Europe. Thus it seems to take BigChange more time and efforts to achieve its ambition as a market leader. When asking about the current strategy of BigChange, the CEO demonstrated that they are providing services and products to specified industries in the UK by creating different industry sites. Then they introduce sites and services to a customer coming from those industries, it will be timesaving and easy to offer and customise the sites. Furthermore, he illustrated that services can be a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Nurses never really get a break especially floor nurses. I have talked to quite a few nurses and they have said that since you don t truly get a break you tend to gain weight do to constantly eating/snacking. The education needed to be a Registered Nurse would be a Bachelor Degree which is a four year process. To be a Registered Nurse or RN you will need no training. On the job you will administer basic health care which is a temporary health coverage program for low income, uninsured United States citizens or permanent legal residents of Contra Costa County. The care of these patients is generally during aeromedical evacuation or rescue operations aboard helicopters, propeller aircraft or jet aircraft. On board a rescue aircraft you would find a flight nurse accompanied by flight medics and respiratory practitioners, as well as the option of a flight physician for comprehensive emergency and critical transport teams. The inclusion of a flight physician is more commonly seen in paediatric and neonatal transport teams. So, how much does a flight nurse make? The answer to this question is quite wide in numbers, since the average U.S. flight nurse salary ranges anywhere from $56,000 to $85,000 per year. The median salary for this career path is $72,000 per year, which is slightly above the median salary of nurses who work on the ground.Their usual work consists of 24 hour shifts two times per week, so it makes enough time for flight nurses to have an additional, second job, usually as nurses in intensive care units or emergency rooms in the hospital s.Same as many other professions, flight nurses who are more experienced earn more money. It is common that flight nurse salary for those who have experience between 1 and 4 years belongs to a range of $45,000 to $60,000, while for those who have from 5 to 9 years of experience, the average salary goes between $58,000 and $82,000 each year. The flight nurses who are even more experienced could be paid over $100,000 per year, which is double when compared to their inexperienced colleagues. • 35. Essay On Mealtimes Just as SLPs utilize pacing strategies and alter flow rate through making equipment changes, they also establish regular mealtimes (Arvedson, 1998). This may be accomplished by allowing concrete intervals of time between feedings. For example, a newborn may be fed every two to three hours. Similarly, the newborn should only engage in feedings a certain number of times per day. For example, a newborn may be fed approximately 10 to 12 times daily. Developing a routine such as this will help the newborn to develop hunger and satiety (Arvedson, 1998). Dr. Mabry explained that the NICU is probably the most regimented unit in the hospital (personal communication, November 5, 2017). If a patient is supposed to be fed at nine o clock in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, even though tube feeding is used as a management strategy for newborns with dysphagia, it does not preclude the need for feeding related treatment. In many cases, newborns will only require feeding tube placement until they are strong enough or well enough to eat on their own (ASHA, n.d.). Dr. Mabry reported that since NG tubes are not inhibitory for oral feeding therapy, oral feeding may still be conducted in newborns with NG tube placement (personal communication, November 5, 2017). However, this becomes more problematic in newborns with G tube placement. Therefore, Dr. Mabry recommends deferring oral feeding until the tube is removed or placed nasally (personal communication, November 5, 2017). While dysphagia may exist alone, it often occurs in addition to other conditions (Prasse Kikano, 2009). Approximately 50% of pediatric patients who have feeding disorders have multiple causes contributing to their feeding difficulties. Similarly, 90% of these patients have at least one medical diagnosis (Lefton Greif, 2008). These are factors a SLP must consider when determining how to manage dysphagia in newborns. Essentially, every newborn with feeding/swallowing difficulty is different (Tuchman, 1988). Some patients experience difficulty feeding and swallowing due to prematurity, which may result in poor coordination of breathing and swallowing. Similarly, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
