1. Identify (and define) the genre of this novel.
It is leaning more on historical fiction. In historical fiction, writers will incorporate past events or
people into their fictitious stories. Though the characters and the story are fiction, this lifestyle and
rule was far from fiction. It is even believed that even though Hester Prynne was fictitious there was a
similar scandal that Hawthorne was referring to. The life of the Puritans has been a subject of interest
for years, with works of literature such as The Scarlett Letter, and the Crucible that depict this time
period of extreme conservatism and harsh punishment. After further analysis and research it has come
to my attention that the Scarlett Letter is actually categorized as a Gothic Romance novel. It shouldn t
be that difficult to believe since Pearl was the result of passionate love affair. I think what sets it apart

Mrs. Rose, an 85 year old Dominican woman, grew up in an urban town in South Carolina. She is the
youngest of two sisters and one brother. Rose stated her life growing up was stressful after her parents
separated. Also, she said her mother had to work two jobs so that she could provide for their family.
Due to the fact of limited income with many mouths to feed, Rose s older siblings moved to their
grandparent s house. She further stated once her siblings moved, there was not a relationship between
the siblings, and her mother became abusive. Consequently, the stress of having to work two jobs
coupled with Rose s mother experiencing abuse as a child kept the cycle of violence to continue. Rose
stated her mother homeschooled her brother for the reason that the bruises left would have quickly
alerted the department of family and children services. Moreover, Rose indicated her mother dropped
out of middle school, and the education that her mother taught was not beneficial. As Rose developed,

My personal cultural is affected by the 7 aspects of myself. These 7 aspects has made me who I am

everyone.I am also responsible to help kill the pig and prep the meat for the females to cook. I am also

Very few studies have been completed on the quality of life of post treatment Latina breast cancer
survivors. The purpose of the evidence based practice study was to test whether or not the quality of
life for Latina breast cancer survivors was affected by bilingual intervention.
The study was composed of two groups. The control group received the usual breast cancer care. The
experimental group received the usual care and some additional components including four teaching
