The Matrix And Charlie Angels
Everyone has their own movie preference. There are people who adore the hardcore action and there
are some who prefer the slow paced drama. Many individuals may not like a movie because of the
genre it is in. A genre is a categorization of certain types of movies based upon their style, form, or
content. The genre is a vital component of a film since it characterizes which course the plot line will
go and allows to prepare yourself for that film. Movie genre is the term used to differentiate between
various number of films. There are around five fundamental groups that are big and prevalent i.e.
Action, Horror, Comedy, Science fiction. In this essay ,I will be comparing two films, The Matrix and
Charlie Angels. I will discuss the use of cinematography, the genres of the films, and how effective
they are. I will also look at the characters, action, plot ,sound and atmosphere created, and how these
are aimed at each film s target audience.
Charlie s Angels is an action comedy film, which borrows ideas from other well known movies such
as Mission Impossible , James Bond etc. It is not very original or challenging, has a weak and
predictable plot, and is merely an update on the 1970 s television series of the same name. The film is
based on a trio of beautiful women who are hired to retrieve a man and his technology. They achieve
this by working together, using their intelligence, a series of cunning plans, combined with an
impressive display of girl power.

Walter Disney Research Paper
What if you became a millionaire for something that you loved to do? From noiseless films, to
colorless productions, all it took was one individual to create a more modern stance of entertainment.
Films as we know, on an everyday basis have been changed to match the way that society views
things. His story was created when one man put his mind and artistic abilities to the test. Lots of effort
was required to make his dreams come true, but there wasn t anything that could remove him off the
path of success. Walter Elias Disney was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 5, 1901. Growing up
Walter had four siblings. Three brothers in which names were Herbert, Raymond, and Roy. The name
of his fourth sibling was Ruth, the youngest, only female of the clan. Elias and Flora Disney were the

At the age sixteen he decided to sign up for the military, but got rejected because he was too young. At
age seventeen he joined the American Red Cross Ambulance Corps, where he used his artistic abilities
to alter his age. Red Cross then took Disney overseas where he served in France at the end of World
War Ⅰ. His Discharge was in August 1919. After the war, he returned to the United States and moved to
Kansas City. After moving, his first job was an apprentice. The name of the company he worked for
was Pesmen Rubin Commercial Art Studio. Shortly after he began, he met Ubbe Iwerks which found
Disney as a young, bold, entrepreneur ready to take on the new world of the entertainment industry.
After the holidays Ubbe and Walter both got laid off due to lack of work. Kansas City Film Ad

Walter to create his own experimental films. After two failed attempts at an independent studio, he
was encouraged by his brother Roy and his uncle to begin fresh in a different

Gender Stereotypes In The L Word
The L Word in one of the rare examples of a television show that centers itself on characters that fall
outside of the straight male hegemony; this is true from the introductory shots of the show. After doing
a series of setting establishing shots of LA, the camera pans across a typical suburban street, and
image that immediately invokes the idea of the typical mom and with with their kids, American
nuclear family. The next scene introduces the first character, a muscular, straight, white, cis man in a
white t shirt movie furniture within a room that one would expect to find in such a suburban scene.
The typical male character is the type of protagonist that viewers are typically asked to identify with,
but in this case, he is placed behind ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By allowing the viewer to see this character once again, it gives them a familiar face to identify with.
As Mulvey suggests, most visual media is meant for white men to identify with, this type of character
gives the short allusion that the television show is going to be this same type of experience: a show
directed at straight white men. However, it quickly flips the script on this as the next scene, in which
we receive the shows first dialogue, depicts one of the women from the bed, named Tina, standing in
front of a mirror, looking at an ovulation test. Mulvey writes about what is called the mirror phase,
The mirror phase occurs...with the result that his recognition of himself is joyous in the he imagines
his mirror image to be a more complete, more perfect than he experiences his own body. Recognition
is thus mislaid with mis recognition: the image recognized is conceived as the reflected body of self,
but its mis recognition as superior projects (60). This quote describes a stage of identity in
psychoanalysis in which a child first recognizes themselves in a mirror, and can therefore imagine
themselves as more than a reflection of their mother s face even though the image is a
misrepresentation in it s incompleteness (Mulvey 60). This concept is directly applicable to this scene,
as the character standing in front of the mirror represents a stage of identification for the viewer. By
seeing the character reflected in the mirror the viewer receives a more complete image of her, is forced
into this step of self identification; thus, the audience directly cued that they are supposed to identify
with this character, rather than the male character that was shown

Ingredient Branding of Industrial Goods
Ingredient Branding of Industrial Goods:
A case study of two distinct different automotive suppliers
Waldemar Pfoertsch[1] / Johannes Rid[2] / Christian Linder[3]
Abstract
This paper concerns ingredient branding; more specifically, ingredient branding for industrial goods.
Although research in ingredient branding has been quite intensive in the area of fast moving consumer
goods, considerably less research has been carried out for industrial goods. In this paper, the authors
provide insight into whether successful ingredient branding can be transferred to industries where it
has not been a common phenomenon: automotive suppliers.
Two major companies in the automotive industry are analyzed in this paper: Autoliv, a major player ...

2. Can you ingredient brand where branding is not a common phenomenon?
The reason companies start to co operate is due to technological and psychological changes of the
business environment. There are two reasons why this occurs (Uggla, 2000): First, technology and
new distribution patterns open up new possibilities for cooperation where brand extension and brand
alliances become more interesting from a strategic point of view. Second, consumers look for risk
reduction, and brand extension and brand alliances might be the right strategies to reduce consumer
risk. Strategies to meet the demands of a changing world are co branding and ingredient branding.
There are some good examples of ingredient branding of durable goods on the market, such as
Shimano as a component supplier of cycles, and Intel in the computer industry. Intel, for instance,
positioned itself to be the heart and soul of personal computers. The strategy was to create a brand,
and it worked for PCs (Karolefski, 2001). In other industries that produce industrial goods, like the car
industry, ingredient branding has not been a common strategy. The primary question that guides us
through this paper is: Is it possible for industrial goods industry like the automotive industry to adopt
an ingredient brand when ingredient branding is not a common phenomenon?

Speech On Luck
The harder I work, the luckier I get. We ve all heard stories about people who seemed to be the
recipients (deserving or not) of incredible luck. They were at a party and heard cocktail chatter about a
fantastic job opportunity. They fortuitously knew a guy who knew a guy, etc.
The first century Roman philosopher Seneca said, Luck is what happens when preparation meets
opportunity. A lot of folks have echoed that sentiment over the millennia. Luck favors those who don t
depend upon it. Sure, some things are mostly about luck. Las Vegas comes to mind. But mostly, we
must make our own luck by taking advantage of every opportunity we recognize or create.
If you think you re lucky, you ll be lucky. The lucky guy who heard about the dream job at the party
may have been lucky because he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You re in a job or that s disappearing. Technology, automation or a reduction in forces are eliminating
thousands of military jobs. Your skills may have become obsolete, or soon will.
4. You are bored. Your military job holds no meaning or gives no fulfillment. You have a pervasive
sense of emptiness and discontent because work doesn t satisfy your fundamental desires or personal
needs.
5. Your job is just a paycheck. You do your job well. You re successful at it, and you feel secure. But
there is no upward advancement. The thought of doing this job for another 10 or 20 years is
depressing.
If any of the above describes you, then you need a Career Plan. The best thing about working on your
Plan is that you begin to feel like you re taking control of your career and your future. As I mentioned
earlier, one of the worst aspects of being either jobless or unhappy in your job is the sense that your
life has spiraled out of control. Your Career Plan is the most effective way I know for you to get that
control back.
You might be thinking, That sounds nice, Phil, but I need a job, like, yesterday. I don t have the luxury

Across Five Aprils Jenny Creighton Analysis
We all have read many different books and stories and have found many similarities between
ourselves and different characters. One of the novels I have read during this summer is called, Across
Five Aprils . In this novel, there was one character that I felt as if she was most like me. Her name is
Jenny Creighton, the daughter of the Creighton family, whose only fourteen years old, in loved with a
schoolmaster named Shadrach Yale. This girl and I have lots of characteristics in common, such as
own point of views, tend to take care the family, and love without thinking.
First of all, there were lots of examples throughout the novel that shows Jenny have the self ability to
think. According to pages 22 and 23, Jenny is fur and too young to be thinkin about Shad or ary other
young man, her father remarked quietly.... She was only fourteen, it was true, but she was as tall as
Nancy and within two years as old as Ellen had been when she married Matthew Creighton. It was
also true that she had her eye on Shadrach Yale, and all had been going well, too... everyone that were
related to the Creighton family knows Jenny was in love with Shad, during the dinner the family was

Psychology At The University Of Southern Mississippi
While studying psychology at the University of Southern Mississippi, I developed an interest in youth
psychological health and social well being. As an avid learner, I subsequently became interested in
clinical child research and joined Dr. Christopher T. Barry s Youth Personality and Behavior (YPB)
laboratory as a volunteer research assistant during my sophomore year of college. After learning the
dynamics of working in a research laboratory, and taking courses such as adolescent, social,
developmental, and personality psychology, my interest in interpersonal relationships, personality, and
mental health solidified. From then on, I sought to expand my experiences in undergraduate research.
For example, I participated in my first independent research experience at the University of Illinois at
Urbana Champaign through the Summer Research Opportunities Program (SROP). I conducted
research in the clinical/community division of the psychology department, and my research focused
on how juvenile delinquency, ADHD, and perceptions of youth s control in choosing their own mental
health service impacted the magnitude of caregiver(s) strain. From my SROP experience, I learned a
wealth of information about tabulating data, from coding variables to running statistical analyses in
the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). SROP was a wonderful experience, and it
catalyzed my progress as an undergraduate researcher.
Shortly after my SROP experience, I began simultaneously

Cardiopulmonary Pressure
I. Abstract: The effects on different aspects of cardiopulmonary fitness, respiratory rate, mean arterial
pressures, electrical activity of the heart, and pulse rate, were all tested on Freshmen Biology students
in regards to how exercise affects the results and if there is a difference between males and females.
Students did a moderate intensity exercise for two minutes, and the results were recorded. There was
at least a slight gender difference between all three measurements; for all three, males, on average, had
a higher net change after exercise. This, however, could have been in part due to errors. In addition,
both genders saw an increase after exercise in all three measurements, which was expected. In the
future, one should repeat the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Males, on average, increased their mean arterial pressure by 12.835 units. In contrast, females
increased their mean arterial pressure by 2.25 units; however, there was one girl whose mean arterial
pressure dropped after exercising instead of increasing. Both males and females all recovered from the
exercise within the four minutes given to recover.
The pulse rate of both male and female genders increased collectively following exercise, but the
males increased drastically more on average than the females . Male pulse rate had an average change
of 30 units, where as the females pulse rate had an average increase of 19.5 units. One aspect that
might have influenced the female results was the fact that one female s pulse decreased after exercise
instead of increasing. Two males and two females were able to recover their pulse after exercise near
to the rest numbers, but the other four people were unable to return to their normal pulse.
Finally, the graph taken from one group doing the electrical activity is shown at the end of the results.
It is a standard graph of an ECG, and the specific waves/points are labeled on the graph.

Impact Of The French And Indian War On The British Government
IV.The Impact on the British
The impact of the French and Indian War on the British government was a positive move toward the
dominance of Europe after the defeat of the French in terms of the colonization of North America.
During this time, the British had incurred a massive military debt, which had to be paid over the long
term. To ensure that the British government did not take full responsibility for the debt, the British
colonists were expected to pay back the debt burden through extremely high taxes. This policy was a
major impact on the British because it defined a new era of colonial exploitation that was to be used
against the colonists. During this time, the British government harbored resentment over the
uncooperative attitude of some colonists that supported the French and refused to pay taxes to relieve
the war debt:
From Britain s perspective, the colonists were ungrateful louts. They showed their ingratitude for
British intervention by selling the French forces ammunition and other provisions for their battles
against the British. After the war, the colonists showed their ingratitude by refusing to pay any taxes
levied by a frustrated British Parliament to recoup the costs of expanding the empire (Makin and
Ornstein 54).
In this manner, the British government had to repay massive war debts, but through exploitative and
resentful policies that forced the colonist to pay extremely high taxes in the colonial economy.
England had won the French and Indian war,

Choosing The Choice Of The Right College
Choosing the right college to attend is like choosing which chocolate bar to eat. There is such a variety
of chocolate bars just like there is such a variety of colleges. Some candy bars are salty and sweet
while are others have additional flavors added; the same is true for colleges, there are some colleges
that have unique extra curricular activities while other colleges have very rigorous academic
programs. All of the chocolate bars are good, but in the end, someone is only going to choose one the
bar that they choose is the one that they feel will satisfy their needs and wants the best. In this paper I
will compare the admission requirements, degree requirements, location and demographics of
Oklahoma Baptist University and Colorado State University. Also, I will explain the graduate program
at Colorado State University, and the college I would choose based on all three individual college
studies. Finally, I will include a high school plan that will show the classes I plan on taking in high
school so I can get where I want to go. To begin, the admission requirements for Oklahoma Baptist
University, otherwise known as OBU, are very simple; however, they only accept sixty percent of
applicants ( Oklahoma Baptist University ). This means that students need to excel in the few
admittance requirements, so they can provide themselves with the highest opportunity of getting
accepted. In order to get accepted to OBU, students need to have an ACT composite of at least twenty

Effects Of Social Networking Sites On Relationships
Effects of Social Networking Sites on Relationships Several studies have found that using social
networking sites excessively, including partner surveillance and monitoring, posting ambiguous
information, and compulsive internet use, can be detrimental to romantic relationships (Ridgway
Clayton, 2016). Social networking sites such as Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook, negatively
influence our relationships. It is important to know the common conflicts and how to avoid them. It is
also important to realize how influential social networking sites affect our relationships daily. In the
following paragraphs, I am going to talk about conflicts in relationships that are caused by Facebook,
Instagram, and Twitter. Facebook is one of the most popular networking sites in the world, next to
LinkedIn and Google plus. However, recent studies have found that people are unaware of Facebook s
influence on our lives. With recent technology and being able to communicate with thousands of
people a day Facebook has influenced our relationships in ways we would not have even thought of
fifteen years ago. People today are now meeting over Facebook and it allows people to have a false
identity. According to Sherrell and Lambie (2016), one participant explained how frustrating it is to
have spent time Facebook chatting with someone they met online, only to find out that, in person, that
someone is not what he or she seemed like on Facebook. Participants in a Sherrell and Lambie s

The Asylum Seeker Is Defined As Person Who Has Fled Their...
An asylum seeker is defined as person who has fled their own country and applied for protection as a
refugee. (Australian Human Rights Commission, 2015).According to the Convention on refugees, a
refugee is someone who has travelled outside his or her own country and cannot return due to a well
founded fear of persecution because of his or her race, religion, nationality, membership of a particular
social group or political opinion which was stated in the Convention Relating to the Status of
Refugees.
As soon as a person in a refugee situation and flees to an international border, he or she is a defined as
a refugee. The person s refugee status is confirmed when the claim they put forward is assessed, either
by a national government or an international agency, such as the UNHCR, and he or she is found to
meet the definition of a refugee.
The term refugee is often used in more terms then the expansion of its legal definition allows. A
refugee generally includes all people who flee their homes to seek refuge from any kind of harm or
threat of harm, such as war, civil strife, domestic violence, poverty or environmental
collapse. However, the legal definition is narrower. The legal definition only applies to people who can
prove they have a well founded fear of persecution because of their race, beliefs, ideals and
opinion. These are free rights that should be obligated to every individual for example freedom of

faster than usual. No problem. I ride my bike to ride my bike. I have a low keyed Friday. I ve
scheduled a pitch meeting at eleven with a new writer. The agent I met recently said his client Thinks
out of the box. I would rather that and am keen to meet him. There s an hour before, so I print a copy
of the development report. I read through, and highlight in yellow, the screenplays in limbo. I note
what the problems are with the script/writer in a footnote at the bottom of the page. And further, I

We leave the building, and stroll towards the parking lot. I reveal that the purpose of the bike ride is to
raise money for leukemia research and to honor of an eleven year old girl, Elizabeth, who died from
the disease. Text me the name of the charity, and I ll have my accountant write a check.
That s fantastic, thanks. When I arrive home, I eat a sparse dinner of fish, veggies, and brown rice.
The food doesn t satisfy. I head to the kitchen to eat plain yogurt with berries. But devour an entire
pint of French vanilla ice cream with two half frozen brownies instead. After, I stay up late and binge
watch the remaining episodes of Game of Thrones. And fall asleep close to midnight. On Saturday
morning, there s no time for coffee. I over slept. Doris drives us to meet Gordon and Zak at a street
near Sepulveda. I sit in silence and run my tongue across my teeth. Yuck. I d forgotten to brush them
or my hair. And worse yet, I look disheveled wearing Khaki shorts, a worn tee shirt and a gray wool
sweater with a hood. Not the bike apparel I bought in the REI store earlier this week. I glance over at
Doris, who s wearing the perfect cycling outfit. Her appearance is flawless. When we meet up with
Zak and Gordon, both are eager to get started. It s apparent that I just rolled out of bed. We stretch for
ten minutes or more. Next we get on our bikes. Zak leads our

Essay On Sport As A Unifier
Ro ee Tal 12 N Physical Education Written Task
A: Sport as a unifier
1. Yes, I do believe sporting events contribute to unifying a nation. Majority of people an any given
nation tend to enjoy and support sporting events, irrespective of the sport itself. As a result, sport acts
as a common ground between people of different socioeconomic, religious, racial and other
backgrounds. This common ground forces people of different backgrounds to interact and to treat each
other with sportsmanship and equality. Therefore, sport both lowers and raises every single type of
person to the same level, which allows for them to integrate with each other in positive ways and unify
them as equals. For example, when South Africa scored their first ... Show more content on

Doping in sports occurs for two reasons. The first being the physical difficulty and requirement of the
sport. The second being the etiquette and attitude in the sport. Take cycling and bodybuilding for
example. The training and records each year are increasing, and athletes believe the only way for them
to compete with these records is to dope because it is almost physically impossible to lift 300 kg or
cycle for 21 days without a break in the times people are getting today. On the other hand, no one in
table tennis dopes, because they are not physically challenged to extreme degrees. Therefore, the
physical requirements and stress that a sport puts on athletes can cause them to result to doping.
Another reason some sports are more prone to doping is based on the sport itself. Take golf for
example. Golfers or inherently and stereotypically sophisticated, moral, upstanding and classy, which
is why they do not dope. They simply do not see cheating as part of the game and wish to take no part
in such obscenities. Therefore doping in sport is also reliant on the attitude that is perpetuated by the
sport and how the athletes view the

Ziggurats
In the city south of Mesopotamia known as Sumer, there were these large stepped structures called
ziggurats . Ziggurats were elevated buildings raised on a flat plain with a temple or shrine mounted on
top. This elevation was very helpful in keeping the shrines from flooding and protecting their artifacts
within. Ziggurats were the most extraordinary remains to come from the Sumerians. It is believed that
the ziggurats were built on top of other ruins and then the new ones would set up the foundation for
the next one. Ziggurats were created to show the city s wealth, ruler and status. They were also a place
where the people could connect with their gods and praise them. They were known as bridges between

The Market Economy Marge Piercy
The Market Economy was a poem written by Marge Piercy in 1973. The publishing of The Market
Economy could have been influenced by a couple of factors. First, was how Piercy lived during the
time that capitalism was first introduced, and new markets and means of wealth and prosperity were
being created. Next, The Market Economy was published after the start of the 1970 s recession in the
U.S., which could have had some influence on the purpose of this poem. To be simple, the poem is
very negative and is about the negativity of Capitalist America and how bad it is for the environment
and for our health. Piercy wrote her poem in the style of free verse. Consistently throughout the poem
there no signs of rhyming or meter. Piercy was very direct with her poem. In The market economy, she
did not favor the use of similes or other literary devices. One of few literary devices used was the use
of the name smog city. One google search later, and pictures of large cities with smokestacks pumping
out metric tons of smoke into the air gives explanation to the term smog city. ... Show more content on

How Did The Spanish American War Cause Ww2
During his presidency William McKinley said, War should never be entered upon until every agency
of peace has failed. His message never fully reached the American people because in the late 19th
century the people were longing for an opportunity to keep up with other empires and they took the
first chance they approached. They saw war with Spain as a quick way to prove supremacy and saw
plenty of benefits. The Spanish American war was inevitable for America because the people had a
strong drive for global power and influence and although it was not completely necessary it resulted in
positive outcomes and later greatly helped progress the country. Conflicts between America and the
Spanish Empire built up over years and these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Americans were caught up in ideas to develop global dominance and when they heard about the
tribulations that Spain was causing they used it to take action and start a war that they could easily win
and gain veneration and intimidation from. The Spanish American war was one of the shortest wars in
American history but it changed the fate and global status of America forever. After the sinking of the
battleship in Havana, McKinley was still reluctant to use harsh force against Spain even though he
received pressure from newspapers including New York Journal calling him weak and a petty
politician for not yet getting involved. On April 9, 1898 congress officially gave the president power
to order troops into Cuba. Theodore Roosevelt was the Secretary of the Navy and a highly regarded
member of the government, his encouragement to start the war greatly influenced the president and he
too changed history. Later in the month of April McKinley went to congress asking for permission to
declare war on Spain because they had refused to recall troops from harming Cubans, but before
congress could respond Spain had already declared war on America. President McKinley s first
military action was to blockade Cuba from Spanish ships and the war official began on April 25, 1898.

A Theoretical Analysis Of The Commercial First Date
Commercials are intended to sell a product or to educate people. In the Commercial First Date
advertising the 2016 Hyundai Genesis luxury sedan and staring Kevin Hart, the car company aims to
reach a broader audience. This was aired during Super Bowl 50th. While some aspects of American
culture have changed, there are some fundamental beliefs that have stayed consistent for years. What
has remained consistent is; that Fathers will always be protective of their daughters, and that people
will spend money on technology if it makes their lives easier. These two points are emphasized in this
advertisement. I believe that this commercial is very persuasive in getting its target audience to

commercial displays old values and at the same time emphasizes The New , that technology is the

achieved it s goals with its audience. This commercial aired in February 2016 and the recent US News
and World Report ranks the Hyundai Genesis 4th out of 17 for midsize luxury sedans. Although we

Increasing the Approval Ratings for President Obama
What Should I do To Increase My Approval Rating?
Introduction
When my iPhone said The White House I thought it was the local restaurant I had made reservations
over the weekend for my parent s anniversary. There was a very stern voice that said President Obama
needs your opinion on the current approval ratings, please hold for the President of the United States
of America ¦and we thank you for your service ¦ Wow! President Obama wanted advice on how to
improve his approval rating. I laid out my three point plan I have long been advocating throughout the
debates (I have had with my family and friends).
Three Point Plan to Increase Approval Ratings The most critical area of President Obama s approval
rating has to do with the economy. To get America back to work as quickly as possible I proposed he
immediately create new venture economic opportunity zones throughout the U.S., concentrating on
those areas hardest hit by the recession. I d focus specifically on Ohio, which has lost hundreds of
thousands of jobs. My plan would be to roll out entrepreneurial assistance to new ventures with a solid
business plan, and also a strong management team. Creating and fostering entrepreneurialism is
critical for the overall successful functioning of a complex economy such as the U.S. (Trimi, Berbegal
Mirabent, 463). I would tell him that he also needs to become known as the Entrepreneurial
Candidate, concentrating on small business and immediately removing the many barriers

The Relationship Between Birth Order and Intelligence Essays
Debates on the relationship between birth order and intelligence have been remaining controversial.
Birth order is considered as a person s ranking by age among his or her siblings. There have been
numerous researchers studying about this subject to find whether firstborns generally have a higher IQ
scores than their siblings. Some scientists conclude that birth order strongly influents intelligence;
however, others oppose to this, claiming that birth order has no effect on intelligence. In this paper,
my study deals with the birth order effects on intelligence.
Investigation about the birth order effects first started in the late nineteenth century. Several
researchers have claimed that the relation between birth order and intelligence ... Show more content

Some critics argue that three points do not seem like much; however, the impact can be enormous. Just
2.3 IQ points can correlate to a 15 point difference in SAT scores, which makes an even bigger
difference when you re an Ivy League applicant with a 690 verbal score going head to head against
someone with a 705. (Kluger). Some people suggest that the difference of IQ scores varies by family
and does not show up in all family. The scientists then looked at I.Q. scores in 63,951 pairs of
brothers, and found the same results. (Carey). To make sure the difference is not due to biological
aspects, the researchers examined the scores of young men who became the eldest in the household
after an older sibling had died. Their scores came out the same, on average, as those of biological
firstborns. (Carey).
Although there are a number of scientists supporting for the idea of being the firstborns is beneficial
and advantageous, recent studies assert that the effects of birth order no longer are significant. The
children s intelligence depends on many factors such as family size, child spacing, prenatal factors,
gestational factors, not only birth order

Case Study The New Orleans Pelican
Even though the New Orleans Pelicans signed Anthony Davis to 5 year / 145 million dollar extension
this past off season. The Pelicans should strongly consider trading Davis within the next 2 3 seasons
because Davis has missed at least 15 games in each of his first three seasons due to a number of
injuries, which include sprained right shoulder, sprained MCL and a fractured left hand. If Anthony
Davis continues to sustain injuries that force him to exit or miss games he will not be able to lead the
Pelicans to any real team success. Real team success for the Pelicans would be winning 50 55 regular
season games and making it pass the first round. For the Pelicans to achieve this goal they would need
Davis 75 to 80 games without missing big portions of games to attend to an injury. Since the Pelicans
do not have another impact player on their roster that can help them tread water until Davis. ... Show

Julie Taymor s Titus Andronicus
Julie Taymor s film adaptation of Shakespeare s Titus Andronicus has many theatrical elements that
aid in creating an interpretation of the written play. One of the most prominent elements that Taymor
uses is color. Taymor uses color to develop Shakespeare s characters. Many times throughout the film,
color is used to represent a character s mood or their hidden agenda during a scene. We also see color
used to represent good versus evil. The three colors that are most widely used during the movie to
show symbolism and imagery are black, white, and red. While there are some references to color in
the written text of Titus Andronicus, Taymor s use of color allows the viewers to see a more clear
representation of mood, tone, and character. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Again, the color black is used to represent inferiority. Had the fly been a color other than black, like
Aaron as Lucius compares it, Titus would have been angry at Lucius for killing the fly. When the child
of Aaron and Tamora is brought in (1:43:00), viewers see another instance in which black is used as a
negative color. Since the child s skin is black, like Aaron s, the child must be killed. The black skin of
the child will contrast with the white skin of its mother and therefore will bring negative views upon
Tamora. Had the child been white, regardless of if it was Saturninus s or not, Tamora could have
passed the child off as being Saturninus s. Since the child has black skin, she can no longer do that and
since black is viewed as an inferior color, the baby must be killed. One of the most prominent times
that the color black is used is during the scene in which Tamora, Demetrius, and Chiron come to Titus
s house (2:11:00). Tamora is in all black attire and her face is painted black. Not only is she
representative of death through her outfit, she actually is death according to Titus. Her job is to bring
death onto people. Throughout the film, black has been unanimously viewed as a negative color. In
this scene, we see black being used in the most negative way possible: representative of death. Little
do the character s know, the usage of black and death is simply foreshadowing what is to come. White

Stephanie Hedge emphasizes that . Tablets can use polling and clicker technology, whiteboard

eliminates or removes a lifeless environment that is now current in the classroom. .According to the
University Of Washington Course management tools such as Canvas allow instructors to organize all

To sum up, teachers who used technology as a way to teach students end up establishing a better

Awake of the Civil War
In the wake of the Civil War, Congress acceded to pressure to have the federal government intercede
to secure African Americans rights. What were some of the long range effects of that government
posture?
The Union Victory in the Civil War in 1865 granted freedom to approximately 4 million slaves,
however, the process of rebuilding the South during the Reconstruction period 1865 1877 brought a
lot of challenges. In 1865 and 1866 under the supervision of President Andrew Johnson, new Southern
state legislatives passed the black codes to control the labor and behavior of former slaves and other
African Americans. During the Radical Reconstruction in 1869, new enfranchised blacks had a voice

Although freedom to become citizens took longer and the fight more difficult, a great number of
African Americans steadily gained various rights which accumulated over time. It is important to note
that racial segregations momentum dissipated over time as more and more blacks held positions of
authority and congressional approval overwhelmingly supported more rights for blacks. Nonetheless,
it is also imperative to consider how white supremacists such as the KKK fought to undo the
important developments. Till this day, both the executive legislative and judiciary wings of
government are constantly battling instances of racial segregation. However, the long range effects of
federal government struggle to secure equal rights for African Americans has been significant
successes in the rise of African American entrepreneurship. The proliferation of blacks in both
government and civil society, the rise of blacks in academia, sports and liberal arts are long effects of
the fight for African American rights. This has progressively opened up American society and in a
way, levelled the playing field. Also this federal government action to intervene in the affairs of the
state has lived on throughout the 21st century.

  • 2. The Matrix And Charlie Angels Everyone has their own movie preference. There are people who adore the hardcore action and there are some who prefer the slow paced drama. Many individuals may not like a movie because of the genre it is in. A genre is a categorization of certain types of movies based upon their style, form, or content. The genre is a vital component of a film since it characterizes which course the plot line will go and allows to prepare yourself for that film. Movie genre is the term used to differentiate between various number of films. There are around five fundamental groups that are big and prevalent i.e. Action, Horror, Comedy, Science fiction. In this essay ,I will be comparing two films, The Matrix and Charlie Angels. I will discuss the use of cinematography, the genres of the films, and how effective they are. I will also look at the characters, action, plot ,sound and atmosphere created, and how these are aimed at each film s target audience. Charlie s Angels is an action comedy film, which borrows ideas from other well known movies such as Mission Impossible , James Bond etc. It is not very original or challenging, has a weak and predictable plot, and is merely an update on the 1970 s television series of the same name. The film is based on a trio of beautiful women who are hired to retrieve a man and his technology. They achieve this by working together, using their intelligence, a series of cunning plans, combined with an impressive display of girl power. In ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Walter Disney Research Paper What if you became a millionaire for something that you loved to do? From noiseless films, to colorless productions, all it took was one individual to create a more modern stance of entertainment. Films as we know, on an everyday basis have been changed to match the way that society views things. His story was created when one man put his mind and artistic abilities to the test. Lots of effort was required to make his dreams come true, but there wasn t anything that could remove him off the path of success. Walter Elias Disney was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 5, 1901. Growing up Walter had four siblings. Three brothers in which names were Herbert, Raymond, and Roy. After moving, his first job was an apprentice. The name of the company he worked for was Pesmen Rubin Commercial Art Studio. Shortly after he began, he met Ubbe Iwerks which found Disney as a young, bold, entrepreneur ready to take on the new world of the entertainment industry. After the holidays Ubbe and Walter both got laid off due to lack of work. Kansas City Film Ad Company hired both men, which led Disney to the discovery of celluloid. • 4. Gender Stereotypes In The L Word The L Word in one of the rare examples of a television show that centers itself on characters that fall outside of the straight male hegemony; this is true from the introductory shots of the show. After doing a series of setting establishing shots of LA, the camera pans across a typical suburban street, and image that immediately invokes the idea of the typical mom and with with their kids, American nuclear family. The next scene introduces the first character, a muscular, straight, white, cis man in a white t shirt movie furniture within a room that one would expect to find in such a suburban scene. The typical male character is the type of protagonist that viewers are typically asked to identify with, but in this case, he is placed behind ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By allowing the viewer to see this character once again, it gives them a familiar face to identify with. As Mulvey suggests, most visual media is meant for white men to identify with, this type of character gives the short allusion that the television show is going to be this same type of experience: a show directed at straight white men. However, it quickly flips the script on this as the next scene, in which we receive the shows first dialogue, depicts one of the women from the bed, named Tina, standing in front of a mirror, looking at an ovulation test. Mulvey writes about what is called the mirror phase, The mirror phase occurs...with the result that his recognition of himself is joyous in the he imagines his mirror image to be a more complete, more perfect than he experiences his own body. Recognition is thus mislaid with mis recognition: the image recognized is conceived as the reflected body of self, but its mis recognition as superior projects (60). This quote describes a stage of identity in psychoanalysis in which a child first recognizes themselves in a mirror, and can therefore imagine themselves as more than a reflection of their mother s face even though the image is a misrepresentation in it s incompleteness (Mulvey 60). This concept is directly applicable to this scene, as the character standing in front of the mirror represents a stage of identification for the viewer. By seeing the character reflected in the mirror the viewer receives a more complete image of her, is forced into this step of self identification; thus, the audience directly cued that they are supposed to identify with this character, rather than the male character that was shown ... Ingredient Branding of Industrial Goods Ingredient Branding of Industrial Goods: A case study of two distinct different automotive suppliers Waldemar Pfoertsch[1] / Johannes Rid[2] / Christian Linder[3] Abstract This paper concerns ingredient branding; more specifically, ingredient branding for industrial goods. Although research in ingredient branding has been quite intensive in the area of fast moving consumer goods, considerably less research has been carried out for industrial goods. In this paper, the authors provide insight into whether successful ingredient branding can be transferred to industries where it has not been a common phenomenon: automotive suppliers. Two major companies in the automotive industry are analyzed in this paper: Autoliv, a major player ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 2. Can you ingredient brand where branding is not a common phenomenon? The reason companies start to co operate is due to technological and psychological changes of the business environment. There are two reasons why this occurs (Uggla, 2000): First, technology and new distribution patterns open up new possibilities for cooperation where brand extension and brand alliances become more interesting from a strategic point of view. Second, consumers look for risk reduction, and brand extension and brand alliances might be the right strategies to reduce consumer risk. Strategies to meet the demands of a changing world are co branding and ingredient branding. There are some good examples of ingredient branding of durable goods on the market, such as Shimano as a component supplier of cycles, and Intel in the computer industry. Intel, for instance, positioned itself to be the heart and soul of personal computers. The strategy was to create a brand, and it worked for PCs (Karolefski, 2001). In other industries that produce industrial goods, like the car industry, ingredient branding has not been a common strategy. The primary question that guides us through this paper is: Is it possible for industrial goods industry like the automotive industry to adopt an ingredient brand when ingredient branding is not a common phenomenon? 3. • 6. Speech On Luck The harder I work, the luckier I get. We ve all heard stories about people who seemed to be the recipients (deserving or not) of incredible luck. They were at a party and heard cocktail chatter about a fantastic job opportunity. They fortuitously knew a guy who knew a guy, etc. The first century Roman philosopher Seneca said, Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity. A lot of folks have echoed that sentiment over the millennia. Luck favors those who don t depend upon it. Sure, some things are mostly about luck. Las Vegas comes to mind. But mostly, we must make our own luck by taking advantage of every opportunity we recognize or create. If you think you re lucky, you ll be lucky. Technology, automation or a reduction in forces are eliminating thousands of military jobs. Your skills may have become obsolete, or soon will. 4. You are bored. Your military job holds no meaning or gives no fulfillment. You have a pervasive sense of emptiness and discontent because work doesn t satisfy your fundamental desires or personal needs. 5. Your job is just a paycheck. You do your job well. You re successful at it, and you feel secure. But there is no upward advancement. The thought of doing this job for another 10 or 20 years is depressing. If any of the above describes you, then you need a Career Plan. The best thing about working on your Plan is that you begin to feel like you re taking control of your career and your future. As I mentioned earlier, one of the worst aspects of being either jobless or unhappy in your job is the sense that your life has spiraled out of control. Your Career Plan is the most effective way I know for you to get that control back. You might be thinking, That sounds nice, Phil, but I need a job, like, yesterday. Psychology At The University Of Southern Mississippi While studying psychology at the University of Southern Mississippi, I developed an interest in youth psychological health and social well being. As an avid learner, I subsequently became interested in clinical child research and joined Dr. Christopher T. Barry s Youth Personality and Behavior (YPB) laboratory as a volunteer research assistant during my sophomore year of college. After learning the dynamics of working in a research laboratory, and taking courses such as adolescent, social, developmental, and personality psychology, my interest in interpersonal relationships, personality, and mental health solidified. From then on, I sought to expand my experiences in undergraduate research. For example, I participated in my first independent research experience at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign through the Summer Research Opportunities Program (SROP). I conducted research in the clinical/community division of the psychology department, and my research focused on how juvenile delinquency, ADHD, and perceptions of youth s control in choosing their own mental health service impacted the magnitude of caregiver(s) strain. From my SROP experience, I learned a wealth of information about tabulating data, from coding variables to running statistical analyses in the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). SROP was a wonderful experience, and it catalyzed my progress as an undergraduate researcher. Shortly after my SROP experience, I began simultaneously ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Cardiopulmonary Pressure I. Abstract: The effects on different aspects of cardiopulmonary fitness, respiratory rate, mean arterial pressures, electrical activity of the heart, and pulse rate, were all tested on Freshmen Biology students in regards to how exercise affects the results and if there is a difference between males and females. Students did a moderate intensity exercise for two minutes, and the results were recorded. There was at least a slight gender difference between all three measurements; for all three, males, on average, had a higher net change after exercise. This, however, could have been in part due to errors. In addition, both genders saw an increase after exercise in all three measurements, which was expected. In the future, one should repeat the ... In contrast, females increased their mean arterial pressure by 2.25 units; however, there was one girl whose mean arterial pressure dropped after exercising instead of increasing. Both males and females all recovered from the exercise within the four minutes given to recover. The pulse rate of both male and female genders increased collectively following exercise, but the males increased drastically more on average than the females . Male pulse rate had an average change of 30 units, where as the females pulse rate had an average increase of 19.5 units. • 11. Impact Of The French And Indian War On The British Government IV.The Impact on the British The impact of the French and Indian War on the British government was a positive move toward the dominance of Europe after the defeat of the French in terms of the colonization of North America. During this time, the British had incurred a massive military debt, which had to be paid over the long term. To ensure that the British government did not take full responsibility for the debt, the British colonists were expected to pay back the debt burden through extremely high taxes. This policy was a major impact on the British because it defined a new era of colonial exploitation that was to be used against the colonists. During this time, the British government harbored resentment over the uncooperative attitude of some colonists that supported the French and refused to pay taxes to relieve the war debt: From Britain s perspective, the colonists were ungrateful louts. They showed their ingratitude for British intervention by selling the French forces ammunition and other provisions for their battles against the British. After the war, the colonists showed their ingratitude by refusing to pay any taxes levied by a frustrated British Parliament to recoup the costs of expanding the empire (Makin and Ornstein 54). In this manner, the British government had to repay massive war debts, but through exploitative and resentful policies that forced the colonist to pay extremely high taxes in the colonial economy. • 34. Julie Taymor s Titus Andronicus Julie Taymor s film adaptation of Shakespeare s Titus Andronicus has many theatrical elements that aid in creating an interpretation of the written play. One of the most prominent elements that Taymor uses is color. Taymor uses color to develop Shakespeare s characters. Many times throughout the film, color is used to represent a character s mood or their hidden agenda during a scene. We also see color used to represent good versus evil. The three colors that are most widely used during the movie to show symbolism and imagery are black, white, and red. While there are some references to color in the written text of Titus Andronicus, Taymor s use of color allows the viewers to see a more clear representation of mood, tone, and character. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Again, the color black is used to represent inferiority. Had the fly been a color other than black, like Aaron as Lucius compares it, Titus would have been angry at Lucius for killing the fly. When the child of Aaron and Tamora is brought in (1:43:00), viewers see another instance in which black is used as a negative color. Since the child s skin is black, like Aaron s, the child must be killed. The black skin of the child will contrast with the white skin of its mother and therefore will bring negative views upon Tamora. Had the child been white, regardless of if it was Saturninus s or not, Tamora could have passed the child off as being Saturninus s. Since the child has black skin, she can no longer do that and since black is viewed as an inferior color, the baby must be killed. One of the most prominent times that the color black is used is during the scene in which Tamora, Demetrius, and Chiron come to Titus s house (2:11:00). Tamora is in all black attire and her face is painted black. Not only is she representative of death through her outfit, she actually is death according to Titus. Her job is to bring death onto people. Throughout the film, black has been unanimously viewed as a negative color. In this scene, we see black being used in the most negative way possible: representative of death. Little do the character s know, the usage of black and death is simply foreshadowing what is to come. White is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is possible to touch every branch of human knowledge with the motion picture (Thomas Edison). An idea that was destined for failure has now been made into the key source to get students and teachers more interacted while in a classroom setting. Tablets such as the iPad and the Microsoft surface have made this idea possible, showing students that there is another alternative to the traditional method which would be a printed version of the textbook. A single tablet has the potential to replace a suite of technologies, and is perfect for classrooms without much technology support (parag.5).According to this evidence, tablets can have multiple purposes. Tablets can be used as a device for video and audio interaction. What were some of the long range effects of that government posture? The Union Victory in the Civil War in 1865 granted freedom to approximately 4 million slaves, however, the process of rebuilding the South during the Reconstruction period 1865 1877 brought a lot of challenges. In 1865 and 1866 under the supervision of President Andrew Johnson, new Southern state legislatives passed the black codes to control the labor and behavior of former slaves and other African Americans. Although freedom to become citizens took longer and the fight more difficult, a great number of African Americans steadily gained various rights which accumulated over time. It is important to note that racial segregations momentum dissipated over time as more and more blacks held positions of authority and congressional approval overwhelmingly supported more rights for blacks. Till this day, both the executive legislative and judiciary wings of government are constantly battling instances of racial segregation. However, the long range effects of federal government struggle to secure equal rights for African Americans has been significant successes in the rise of African American entrepreneurship. The proliferation of blacks in both government and civil society, the rise of blacks in academia, sports and liberal arts are long effects of the fight for African American rights.
