Statements In Romeo And Juliet
Every day in English one we are required to write I Can Statements. I Can Statements are basically
statements that we write that tell us what we learned that we can do that day. My I Can Statements this
week were that I can use the text and play of The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet to answer the given
questions correctly (February 1, 2016), I can analyze the characters in the play and text to determine
their similarities and differences (February 2, 2016), I can analyze the lines and language in the text
and play to paraphrase the characters language and lines for my understanding (February 3, 2016), I
can determine the literary terms used in the text and play to correctly answer the given questions
(February 4, 2016), and that I can use the text and context clues to determine the meaning of words
(February 5,2016). Viewing the play helped me better understand ... Show more content on

When reading the text I had to use my visualizing stills and imagination to better comprehend the
language. By doing this I had to create the picture of what was happening in my head based on the text
and stage directions which, can sometimes be difficult. But by doing this I gained a better understand
of the text. By watching the play I had a better understanding because I got to see the scenes rather
than reading them. By seeing the scenes I got to see the settings and the characters which, made me
gain knowledge and a better understanding. The language in text was very complex and confusing but
rather than reading the text I got to actually see the words come out of their mouths. I think that both
the text and play helped be better understand

SYNOPSIS
Due to a lack of interesting mechatronics display items in many engineering companies and hobbyists
shops, we found an existing design that matched all these requirements: A mechanical time writing
clock (a.k.a. Plotclock ). Our group decided to figure out exactly how it worked, by ... Show more

This gave rise to the popular microcontroller known as Arduino which is used in many electronic
design projects today. It works on the C language and its software and components are open source
Since James Watt s Steam Engine Governor, closed loop feedback control systems have evolved into
the development of the servo motor [1]. Small servo motors can now be purchased cheaply and be
controlled using Arduino. Johannes Heberlein came up with the idea to combine these components
into making a mechanical clock that writes out time, a.k.a. the Plotclock . This design displays the all
aspects of mechatronics and makes an interesting design for display and entertainment purposes.
2. DEFINITION OF PROBLEM
2.1. PROBLEM STATEMENT
A company wants to display their combined mechanical and programming skills to their customers in
a waiting room of their different branches.
The company would like the designers to help them with a cheap and interesting display involving
mechanics and electronics. This design must be programmable using C programming with an Arduino
as a control unit and an external power supply to provide voltage to components.
2.2. REQUIREMENTS
It needs to be unique and eye catching.
It should be able work up to 8 hours a day.
It needs to inexpensive so it can be easily manufactured as a display item as to not influence the cash
flow of the business.

Gender In Pride And Prejudice
Extended Essay
The man s sphere versus the woman s sphere in Jane Austen s Pride and Prejudice
Abstract
Introduction
Jane Austen s novels are known for not only being enthralling but also as characteristic of British
society in the nineteenth century. Her novels present a compelling view on the historical,
psychological, and sociological issues woven into the plots that are full of irony, farce, and versatile
characters. One of Jane Austen s most appreciated novels Pride and Prejudice illustrates the topic that
I will explore in my extended essay, which is the male world versus the female one. In order to
address my question How does social status and gender bias influence life decisions and perceptions
of the world in Austen s Pride and Prejudice? I will investigate and portray the specific views of both
gender s worlds as offered by Austen in comparison to the established ones from Nineteenth Century
England. The social status and genders of the characters influence their lives in all aspects, from
determining their perceptions of the world to limiting their potentials in life decisions.
I strongly believe that my topic of choice is worth investigating; my work doesn t just outline the role
of social rank and gender in Nineteenth Century England, it also includes widely accepted knowledge
about intellectual differences between the genders and their interpersonal relationships. Furthermore
my essay will be supplemented by unique insight into the life of the

Defining Identity Essays
There are millions of words across the globe that are used to describe people and uncover their
identity, but what is identity? How can you begin to describe something that varies so greatly from
one human being to another? Can you create a universal meaning for a word describing human
concepts that people often fail to define for themselves? Of course there isn t one definition to define
such a word. It is an intricate aspect of human nature, and it has a definition just as complex.
Webster s dictionary describes identity as sameness of essential character, individuality, or the fact of
being the same person as one claims to be. So your identity can include your name, your age, your job
title, or simply characteristics of your ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Everyone has heard that it is who you are on the inside that counts. This part of your identity is what
makes a person truly unique. It is true that someone can have the same name, be the same age, or have
the same job as you. So your identities would seem very similar. It is possible for two people from the
same place that share such numerous interests to believe that they are one and the same. That is until
you take a closer look and examine the person?s thought and feelings. No two people are exactly
alike. Our identities spawn individuality. Therefore, your identity also shows what kind of person you
are beneath the skin. It is a picture of how your view your self and your purpose in the world.
Since identity is so often built from fads, it is a reflection of culture. People want to be like what they
see on television and hear on the radio. So people mold themselves to be like the idols they are so
infatuated with. It?s always about what?s popular, and by looking at a large group you can tell what
that is at any given time, because people like to connect their identities with one another. It creates a
sense of belonging and acceptance that humans need in order to feel like they fit into society. People
have to be able to bond with one another. Having a vastly different identity makes you an outcast, and
no one wants to know how it feels to be the loner. So people alter themselves to ensure that they will

be required by law.
Mediators are neutral and harbor no invested interest in the conflict or with any of the parties

settlement. Going into mediation allows the people engaged in an on going conflict to reach a mutual
agreement, settling their differences instead of participating in lengthy and expensive court
proceedings.
Job Description
Mediators conduct confidential, private hearings away from a courtroom setting. A meeting room, an
office, or hotel conference room are good locations for a mediation. Working independently or for the
court, you can set your own hours and work for many other businesses besides the legal services. State
and local government, health care, civic organizations, human resources and social assistance are a
few industries that hire mediators. Work in your spare time, or make it a full time job of 30 to 40 hours
a week with some negotiations requiring longer hours. You will set appointments for all parties to

The Civil War And The War
The Civil war was an internal war between different groups that belonged to the same country.
Normally the war is caused by different people believing in their cause and convinced that the other
group is unreasonable on matters of national policy. The Civil war in America broke out in 1861 and
lasted for four years and then ended in 1865. This was the greatest war after the Napoleonic wars in
1815 before the beginning of the First World War that lasted between 1914 1918. The war was
addressing two issues on whether the American states will remain as a union or whether the countries
could secede and form independent states. Secondly the war also wanted to address whether the
democracy created gave equal rights to all men, an issue ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, in light of these facts, the southern economy relied upon slaves to provide labor that
sustained these large farms. The conflict between the north and south rose due to the fact that the north
thought it was wise to give equal rights to all men whereas the southern was against that since they
needed labor for their farms. This led to a formation to a formation of a confederate union that purpose
to fight for their South. The confederate Union in the south was against the abolition of slavery. Seven
states were the first to secede and join confederate union.(Georgia, Mississippi, Louisiana, South
Carolina, Texas, Alabama and Florida). This was immediately three months after Abraham Lincoln
entered the office on the newly formed Republican Party. The war broke out when the confederate
armies claimed Fort Sumter that was held by federals in Charleston in South Carolina. The fort was
later surrendered to them by Major Robert Anderson, after two days, by the commander then of the
Fort. Immediately after the confederate took charge of Fort Sumter four more states seceded from the
union. The confederate army forced the flag of America to be lowered as a sign of surrender to them.
These states are namely North Carolina, Arkansas, Tennessee and Virginia. These states joined the
confederate. Coming to the close of 1861, it was certain that this was not going to be a short term
conflict and that the war will last

Essay On Misded That Lead To Doom
The Misdeed That Lead to Doom It started as a typical day at Elwood elementary with all the children

friend Ann rushed inside as soon as the teacher announced, All students report to first block .
Both girls sprinted to obtain seats, since the majority of the class never figured out a specific
arrangement to sit. To prevent another day of arguments with other classmates, Clarissa and Ann
banded together to get seats next to one another. Their plan was successful with both seated in the

students have a 30 minute break outside of the test room the administrator told students to stay in the
hallway or go to the restroom. Clarissa motioned to Ann to go with her to the restroom once inside she
was ready to tell Ann what she saw. Clarissa stated with excitement, Look Ann they just left the
classes phones in a box in the other room. Ann looks out the restroom window and turn towards the
room across the hall and saw the stacks of phones in the room. Clarissa decided to turn this break into
an adventure and sneak her phone out. Clarissa wanted Ann to join in on what seemed a simple task
with a grand reward. So, Clarissa whispered, Ann lets go and get our phones it will be quick plus I can
show you a picture of my pet iguana. While Ann was worried that both of them would get caught and
receive zeros on the benchmark although she decided it was better to go with Clarissa then stay alone
until the break was over. This was a grave mistake for once they started the walk to the room with
their phones there was an ominous sound and the door abruptly opened. Both girls became wide eyed

leading to reduced glomerular filtration rate (GFR) and the development of HRS (Munoz, 2008).
Classification of HRS:
Type I: Cirrhosis with rapid progressive acute kidney injury.
Type II: Cirrhosis with sub acute renal failure.
Type III: Cirrhosis with types I or II HRS on top of chronic kidney disease or acute kidney injury.
Type IV: Fulminant liver failure with HRS.
Diagnostic Criteria for HRS
1. Chronic or acute liver disease with progressed liver failure and portal hypertension.
2. Low GFR indicated by serum creatinine 1.5 mg/dL or creatinine clearance 40 mL/min in 24 hour.
3. Absence of circulatory shock, treatment with nephrotoxic drugs, absence of gastrointestinal or renal
fluid losses, and on going bacterial infection.
4. No improvement in renal function (decrease in serum creatinine ≤ 1.5 mg/dL or increase in
creatinine clearance to ≥ 40 mL/min) following withdrawal of diuretics and expansion of plasma
volume with 1.5 liter of isotonic saline.
5. Proteinuria 500 mg/dL without ultra sonographic proof of parenchymal renal disease or obstructive
uropathy (Salerno et al., 2007).
Predictors of HRS:
Several studies have been performed to investigate potential predictors for HRS. Gines et al., found
three independent variables to be predictive of HRS, absence of hepatomegaly, high plasma renin
activity, and low serum sodium (Gines et al., 1993). Montoliu et al., found that older age, high
baseline serum creatinine, and a high CP score were independent

was an economic slump in North America and Europe. The industrialized Western world had
experienced the most ruthless and prolonged depression. Cinderella Man is only one example of how
families struggle and overcame the great depression. You will see how this effective many Americans.
Why the stock market crashed, was due to two factors, economic and financial. For example economic
factors where, poor distribution of wealth, many consumers relied on credit, credit dried up, consumer
spending dropped and industries struggled. Financial factors were a threat to the stock market rise in
the mid 1920s. Speculation in stock ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In view of the fact that consumers are not purchasing as much food, farmers are struggling in saving
their farms. Also, the drought or also known as the dust storms are contributing to this reason. Since
people were not buying as much the farmers could not afford to keep the farms, and the drought was
making it even more difficult to grow food. Therefore, unable to make payments they would either file
for bankruptcy or may be foreclosed. With these failures came unemployment, this is cause by not
having enough jobs for people. The unemployment rate rose up to 25 percent, some areas where even
higher than that. Hoovervilles and hoboes where the new social groups created by unemployment.
Hoovervilles are people who lived in shacks on the out skirts of towns or parks to accommodate the

of work, food and housing. A lot of them would try to travel by boarding a moving train this was
extremely dangerous. Hoboes develop a language all to their own to tell each other of honest and

main antagonist in the play is her very own mother Margaret White. Ms.White is a very religious
woman that wants to protect Carrie from the dangers in the world and even herself, very
overprotective women and to what I believe very crazy. The plot is brought to life by supporting

the play cause her to find out she has powers. The end of Act II is when everything comes together

Punk Subculture In The Mid-1970 s
During the mid 1970 s, the Punk subculture emerged between both the US and the UK. At the end of

Effects Of Psychoanalysis On The Great Gatsby
There is a darker and more twisted reality behind the perfect illusion of the American Dream. The
psychological impact it has can alter one s values, morals, and even their sanity. Psychoanalytic
criticism is a literary theory used to analyze a text, for the main purpose of understanding the motives
behind an individual s behavior. It claims that through the process of psychoanalysis, initially
introduced by Sigmund Freud, the reader can bring to surface the unconscious anxieties and desires of
a particular character. Through a psychoanalysis of characters in The Great Gatsby, one can discover
the main ideas F. Scott Fitzgerald depicts in his novel. It is set in the 1920 s, otherwise known as the
roaring twenties. Nick Carraway, an ambiguous ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is used by his ego as a way to dismiss the tragic truth about the American Dream and also to provide
him refuge from its effects, protecting his mind from the threatening feelings it brings. A notion
introduced by Sigmund Freud; Defence Mechanism, such as the ones Gatsby uses, are unconsciously
used by the ego of an individual to alleviate their anxieties. The American Dream in the novel is
depicted through Daisy, as she is a paradigm of what once was pure and innocent, now corrupted and
tainted by greed. James Nagel, in his article The Great Gatsby and the American Dream explains it as
such; the version of it (The American Dream) sought by Gatsby and Nick is a degraded corruption of
the idea, a formulation that reduces the objective to money and to social status based on surface riches.
(Nagel 1). Gatsby is subconsciously in denial of this fact, as he is chasing a tainted American Dream.
As he is persistent with the fact that he could repeat the past, and be with Daisy before she loved Tom.
His subconscious protects his ego by denying the simple reality of things. When confronted by
Gatsby, Daisy says, Oh, you want too much... I love you now isn t that enough? I can t help what s
past. (Fitzgerald 126). Gatsby is using denial as a defense mechanism to block out that fact that the
American Dream he is trying so hard to achieve is corrupted and cannot bring him any fulfillment.
Originally the American Dream promoted values such as knowledge, compassion, insight, and a
human understanding that allowed for the harmonious progress of society. (Nagel 2) This represents
Daisy when Gatsby first met her, pure and innocent. Gatsby wants to turn back time to when before
Daisy met Tom; who is a paradigm of the corruption of that pure and innocent American Dream. The
fact is Gatsby can never get

Berets, baguettes, wine, crepes, romance, and art; when thinking of American culture these are not the

the war, as well as, the war itself was a catalyst for the Revolution. It made a financial and cultural
impact that has shaped us into the country we are today. Though the British won the war, the financial
burden of the war lead to many conflicts that eventually boiled over. After the war the British people

Analyzing Jon Stewart s Daily Show
4. After watching the Daily Show interview with Jim Cramer, I believe that Jon Stewart s questions
were fair as he was trying to get Cramer to confess CNBC s faults during the financial crisis and his
contributions to them. One instance of this was Stewart calling out CNBC for creating an unrealistic
image of the market by covering up the embezzlement scandals and failing to expose the actions of
those behind it, despite their frequent interview appearances. I agree with Stewart in this argument as
CNBC put themselves in a tight corner by merely addressing the situation and stating the obvious
instead of taking action in order to preserve their reputation as a financial expert . Cramer s responses
illustrate this point as he admits that while

John Paston Rebirth
There was no Renaissance in England during the 1300 s to the 1500 s. England at this time was more
rural and lacked the artistic or classical resurgence that is Renaissance is often defined by. Most of its
economy was based in agriculture or the textile industries and had a notable economic growth spurt
due to the massive loss in population from the plague. The plague and its effects contradict the basic
rebirth idea of the Renaissance by being the literal opposite of a rebirth and having the economic
growth start from a massive death toll. England was mainly rural during this period, with only a few
pockets of urbanization in the Southern parts of the country. Since there was a lot of countryside,
agriculture was the most popular occupation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The price of goods went down and the standard of living went up. Since agriculture was the biggest
occupation, it affected a large portion of the English population. However, this economic growth came
at the price of large masses of people dying. Clearly an age which relies for its prosperity upon large
numbers of its members dying at an early age, and suffering the frequent loss of spouses, children,
relatives, friends and colleagues is somewhat less than golden, (Aberth, 70). Even the economic
prosperity came from the opposite of what the Renaissance implies because the catalyst was death
instead of rebirth . England did not have a Renaissance or a rebirth during the 1300 s to the 1500 s.
Instead, England was fairly typical with having most of its population in rural areas and being rooted
in agriculture and textiles. Even for those not in the agriculture and textile industries, other aspects
associated with the Renaissance, such as the resurgence of classical education, hardly touched the
English. They also suffered a major loss in their population because of the plague, which helped to

Self Reflection And Professional Development
In my journey of becoming a professional teacher, the main two events which took place in my life
were self reflection and professional development.
In my opinion, self reflection is to reflect back and think about what I have done in order to develop
myself. As it is written in the Collaborative website of the MCH Training Grantee Network, self
reflection is the way of evaluating the effect of our values, style of thinking and communicating and
experience. Also the process of self reflecting helps to develop people s culture, skills and principles
since these may affect the future actions and learning.
There are many benefits of self reflection. It helps teachers to give a clear picture of what they have

As professional learning association in the year 2015 states, professional development is defined to be
the basic tool that education institutes can use to help the teaching staff continuously learn and
develop their skills and knowledge. According to Guskey. T, (2010), high quality professional
development is the major element in nearly every modern proposal for improving education,
The primary purpose of professional development is to prepare and support teachers by giving them
the knowledge and skills they need to help all students achieve high standards of learning and
development (U.S. Department of Education, 1996).
Professional development is not a one day job. It should be a continuous thing if teachers want to
become knowledgeable. In the early days, to refresh teachers, weekly workshops or seminars were
conducted which was not very effective. Now the trend has changed. It became a continuous process.
All the trainings that are carried out including course level ones are also known as professional
development. Teachers gain a lot of knowledge, training and experience from those

Operant Conditioning Examples
EXAMPLES OF OPERANT CONDITIONING
Example of Operant conditioning, is when you decided to snooze the alarm in the morning after
partying all night long. Finally you decide to get up to go to work you are running 15 min late. And
decide to step on gas pedal. You are now driving 50 mph on a 35 mph road. You think you are fine and
won t get caught because everyone else is driving fast also. All of sudden a cop is hidden in between
the trees and bushes. You try to brake, in order to slow down a bit, but it s too late.... The cop has turn
on the lights and tail gating you already. You pull over and you try to convince him that you had a
tough night ... even though it s a lie, and to let you off with a warning. The cop tells you he doesn t
care and you should know better. Therefore he gives you a speeding ticket of about two hundred
dollars and a court date if you decide to fight it. In order to go to court you will have to miss work,
which means you won t get paid. Then you have to pay for all the additional court fees if you want to
go to clear your record; your insurance will go up, have to pay for driving school and miss more work
also. You will have to go through all this trouble, time and money. Just for being too lazy and tired to
get up on time.
This type of Operant Conditioning is called positive punishment where you decrease and/or limit bad
habits behaviors by adding an unpleasant outcome and/or consequence after the unwanted behavior.

Concussions In Rugby
Introduction:
In the sport of rugby there are a lot of different injuries that you could get in the sport for example a
concussion. The reason why this topic is interesting to research is because the injurie which is called a
concussion is a fascinating injurie. A Concussion is a type of head injury. It happens when someone
gets a significant bang on the head so much which the brain is shaken and knocks against the inside of
the skull. This causes the nerves and structures in the brain to be altered. The reason why I have
chosen to research into concussion in rugby is because I find it interesting how an injurie from when
you were a child can have an effect on your body in later life, and how people have found out a way to
prevent a concussion to happen. Also I play rugby so I wanted to find out what is a concussion in more
detail, and by this research I have done I could get a better understanding of a concussion. And in my
essay I will be talking about the Significant risk of concussion in children, Short and long term effects
of concussion, Ways to prevent a concussion ,Concussion linked to mental health problems for ex
sportsmen, Teens who suffer a concussion and a result after a concussion.

Alcohols Lab Report
The purpose of this investigation is to burn selected alcohols of different molecular structure in a
controlled environment to compare the magnitude and rates of energy release.
Fuels are any kind of substance that, when burnt, produces chemical or nuclear energy that can be
used for work. More accurately, fuels may be defined as a naturally occurring or artificially prepared
combustible carbonaceous material (Palanna, 2009). One of the most common fuels that is still used
today is charcoal. Charcoal is the remains of burnt wood which was discovered to be a good fuel
source and was used to melt metals.
When fuels are burnt the majority of the energy released was stored within the weak double bond of
molecular oxygen found in the fuel. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first way to improve the result obtained would be the use of an insulator that can contain a higher
level of heat than the plain aluminium and steel shrouds. The original design concept incorporated this
by wrapping the steel shroud with glass fibre and having small pipes with holes cut into the fibre for
gasses to escape. It was estimated that the original design would yield a percentage of heat trapped to
be equal to ~50%. The second factor that could slightly improve the outcome is the use of a fume
cupboard. This would completely eliminate the chance of dynamic forces affecting the reaction while
still allowing the reaction plenty of oxygen to

The And Placebo Effect On Human Sciences
Since every object, event and story can be interpreted from multiple perspectives, people gain their
knowledge in a way largely influenced by the perspective. It is difficult to be convinced of any
knowledge that is without bias. The knowers all pursue the answer to their questions when researching

communities. Few can detach themselves from the contemporary situation since the cultural
background, various eras, and diverse ways of knowing all help to shape the pursuit of knowledge.

Although the Chinese government promised to investigate the incident thoroughly, many western

Chinese press may have delayed reporting the incident in order to keep the perfect appearance during

Explain The Challenges That Esperanza Faced In Esperanza...
Mexican immigrants faced discrimination, hard labor, and low wages. In Esperanza Rising by Pam
Munoz Ryan, Esperanza had to become a Mexican immigrant because her father, Sixto Ortega, was
killed and Esperanza and Mama had to escape from her rude uncles. Since her Papa s death, Esperanza
had to face many other challenges as an immigrant such as she had to learn how to do daily chores
because she always has had a servant, the dust storms caused mama to get valley fever, and Mexicans
were discriminated against in America. The first challenge Esperanza had to face was learning daily
chores that she had never done because she had always had a servant do everything for her. One day
Esperanza got made fun of by Marta and her friends because she didn t know how to sweep correctly.
On page 118 the author states, He shut the door, then stood in front of her and said, how would you

Children s Influence On Children
Before children were sent to Canada they received some education as well as some training. Only the
children who were in good physical health as well as demonstrated a good personal character were
chosen to go to Canada. Children gave consent to be sent they had the option to say no to the trip,
however with promises of a better life and the ability to help develop the new country, the trip seemed
like an adventure to many. Children did not understand what they were agreeing to. They were usually
more than willing to set sail across the ocean. Children were generally given new outfits, a pair of

British children tended to be smaller and less skilled than Canadian children. The lack of skills was
mainly because they came from urban areas in Britain which did not have farming. One agent reports
that out of her 1304 placements 290 children were returned. With the constant bouncing between the
homes children had a difficult time becoming attached. As part of the placement contract, families
were required to file a report every three months with updates of the child such as health, progress and
conduct. These reports were all too often not filed or they were untruthful leaving out the mistreatment
towards the child. The children were also bound by contract, usually until age ten children would be
looked after in a program called boarding out. This program gave the foster family five dollars a
month to keep the child and they had to allow him or her to attend school. Once the child was ten and

the age of fourteen to fifteen children began working for a small wage. At this stage they paid their
own board, clothing and food. Until age eighteen the children

The Impact Of Facebook On Citizen Engagement
on the power that social media sites possess on citizen engagement. However, a study done in 2011
examined the usefulness of Facebook pages as a way to connect citizens with each other (many to
many) for policy input versus the utilization of those social media sites to transmit to and receive from
government to citizens (one to many) in a more authoritative manner . The study was done to examine
the use of Facebook to maintain power relations and inform citizens about their views rather than
using the platform for the soft of connectivity for which it was intended: that is flat, egalitarian
networked communications or even iterated and critical feedback exchanges . Results are promising to
better the future link for citizen engagement. Social media can be the resource used to increase
interaction between government and citizens. Today this form of social media communication is on a
rise and is becoming an accepted part of everyday life. By establishing a right kind of respect and
privacy this tool will replace the old with the new and open doors to new interactions between the
government and social media. As much as social media may appear to be the missing link between
government and citizen interaction, it may have a dark side. Social media can be used against the
government. It can be used as a tool for protest. Still something that is new and upcoming, social
media in protests is making quite the impact. Current conventional wisdom has it that social networks

Separations Of Powers In Australia Essay
In the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Australia, exists a doctrine called the separation of
powers. This doctrine exists to ensure that no single body of government, is in a position to hold all
the power in the nation, when making decision s which can be detrimental to others. Yet at the same
time Australia does not use doctrine of separations of powers as strictly as other countries. It is the
intention of this essay to see how the doctrine of separations of power operates in Australia, then
compare it to another country. To see how it operates there and to view differences and similarities
which exist between these two countries.
To first understand why the doctrine of separations of powers operates differently in Australia, we first
must establish what exactly the Separations of powers is. As such the Separations of Powers doctrine,
can basically be expressed as separating the three major bodies of government, to reduce the
likelihood of one body obtaining all the power in the government . The three bodies of government
comprise of: the Legislative, the Executive and the Judicial. The Legislative body comprises up of
parliament and their main role is to make the laws. The Executive role is to enforce the laws and they

Comparing Charles Darwin s Idea Of Evolution And Natural...
Charles Darwin had arguably one of the best ideas anyone has ever had, the idea of evolution and
natural selection. Along with these two ideas, he also noticed that all species are connected through
the tree of life. While Darwin was studying finches in the Galapagos, he noticed each species of finch
had a different type of beak. He latter understood that these different beaks were due to the varying
types of diets of the birds based on what island they came from. The different beaks would help them
open seeds easier or get nectar from flowers. The beaks showed Darwin s idea of natural selection and
survival of the fittest. Darwin realized that the birds were able to change (or evolve) over time, based
on how well their beaks aided in feeding

The Ivory Trade And Its Effect On The Trade
Throughout the course of history, humans have long used the exchange of goods as a way to socially
interact and provide for themselves. Trading is a cornerstone of modern society and it is how materials
and objects can be transferred around the world. The ivory trade is a practice that has been in place for
centuries. In the last one to two hundred years, the negative impacts of the trade have begun to
surface. The elephant populations, specifically in Africa, are rapidly declining with the illegal trade
taking place today. The ban on the ivory trade was put into place in order to save the elephant
populations and reduce the harmful environmental impacts. The use of international law in the
creation of the ban on the trade and the current ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the 19th century, most of the elephants in Southern Africa were wiped out, and then a large
reduction of the animals in West Africa took place by the end of the 20th century. These huge
reductions in the elephant populations meant that ivory was becoming scarcer. In the first half of the
20th century, the world was ravaged by large wars including both of the World Wars. The trade slowed
a great deal, until the economic prosperity in the 1960s and 1970s sparked a new emergence of ivory
demand (Underwood 8). Reports show that in the beginning of the 1970s, Japan was the largest global
consumer of ivory, with about 40% consumption. Europe and North America were the next largest
consumers, with another 40% being split between them (Underwood 8). An analysis of the trade
shows that around this time, the elephant populations were under great stress. African elephants were
at their lowest numbers ever, and they continued to decline with no real international efforts to stop
the trade. While ivory may have been an important commodity in the world, the impacts that the trade
had on the elephants and their environments was devastating. If the ivory trade was so significant back
in the middle of the 20th century, then what changed in order to result in a ban on it? The international
community brought attention to this issue and began to implement international law with the
introduction of CITES, or the Convention on International Trade

Analysis Of Erasmus s Praise Of Folly
In Erasmus s Praise of Folly, Erasmus discusses how Folly is indebted into her wisdom. Folly, the
daughter of Plutus and Youth, wants to inform all of the great gods that she can bring joy to everyone.
She wanted to build an empire of her own, since there was not one built for her. Many of the gods
during that time had the perception that many women did not know what they were talking about, and
were seen as simple minded. However, Folly has the idea that people will not be able to create or form
any relationship without her power. Since Folly believes that no one takes her serious, or any of her
propositions, she wants to show everyone that life would not be the same without her. In a sense, Folly
is giving herself credit so that everyone can value her even more. As she is talking about herself, she is
giving everyone else the opportunity to see what kind of person she really is. Erasmus states that I am
the one and indeed, the only one whose divine powers can gladden the hearts of gods and men (9).
This quote explains the idea of Folly proving to everyone that life would not be the same without her.
Words such divine powers and gladden can depict the idea that Folly is going to do whatever it takes
to her point across to the gods and everyone else. As Erasmus explains that Folly is the cause of life
for everyone, he also describes how she is the cause of human interactions. Humans bond so that they
can form a connection with one another. Folly further explains

The rational for this selection is that quasi experimental designs are used to determine the effects of an
intervention, such as diabetes group office visits on participants receiving and not receiving this
intervention (Grove, Burns, Gray, 2013). Even though convenience sampling is known to be a weak
method of sampling due to its lack of bias control, it can work significantly well when knowledge and
care is used to perform a study (Grove, Burns, Gray, 2013). Extraneous Variables Extraneous variables
are variables that are not desired by the researcher, but they influence the relationship of the study
variables (Dictionary of Nursing Theory and Research, 2010). In order to properly interpret study
results, the goal of the research design is to control these variables (Dictionary of Nursing Theory and
Research, 2010). A study environment that is not controlled introduces extraneous variables, so it is
important to have an environment that is equal to all participants (Grove, Burns, Gray, 2013). An
example of an extraneous variable in this study would be previous diabetes knowledge, because level
of education is an important extraneous variable (Grove, Burns, Gray, 2013). It would be ideal if all
participants had the same education level. An

Deviance Is A Violation Of Social Norms
Imagine someone rich or powerful committing crimes without the fear of serving consequences. The
crime may include murder, robbery, or stealing. Deviance is a label for an action or behavior that
violates social norms. Social norms are rules or expectations which usually guide members of society.
Deviance is nonconformity to these norms. Social norms can vary from culture to culture and is
defined in numerous ways. Many researchers believe that deviance is a violation of social norms.
Some believe deviant behavior is breaking the law or acting in a negative manner. Sociologists use
specific words to classify deviant actions from a sociological perspective. There are crimes that are
deviant actions and not deviant acts. For example; this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many laws are enacted to punish criminals and protect individuals from violent deviant actions.
Privileged Deviance is economically costly because some powerful individuals attempt to escape the
consequences of deviant actions. Deviance occurs through interactions between individuals and
groups. The labeling theory discusses the social behavior of how and why individuals continue deviant
activity to maintain their identity or label. Thio, Taylor, and Schwartz state the word interaction
deviance is a human activity involving more than one person s act (Thio, et. al, 2013, p. 35). The
theory suggests individuals reflect on their behavior and how others view their actions. The labeling
theory can be linked to the symbolic interaction foundation perspective. Understanding deviance and
criminal behavior are addressed through the labeling theory. Thio, Taylor, and Schwartz suggest that
the deviant act begins with the hypothesis that no act is essentially criminal. Criminality is recognized
by individuals who feel powerful through the design of laws and the interpretation of law
enforcement. Deviance is determined by the interaction between deviant and nondeviant actions and
how the community interprets the actions. Individuals who adhere to the law and promote acceptable
behaviors are the main source of labeling. For example; this may include police officers, courts, or
school authorities. Defining specific

By seeing the scenes I got to see the settings and the characters which, made me gain knowledge and a better understanding. This gave rise to the popular microcontroller known as Arduino which is used in many electronic design projects today. It works on the C language and its software and components are open source Since James Watt s Steam Engine Governor, closed loop feedback control systems have evolved into the development of the servo motor [1]. Small servo motors can now be purchased cheaply and be controlled using Arduino. • 5. Gender In Pride And Prejudice Extended Essay The man s sphere versus the woman s sphere in Jane Austen s Pride and Prejudice Abstract Introduction Jane Austen s novels are known for not only being enthralling but also as characteristic of British society in the nineteenth century. Her novels present a compelling view on the historical, psychological, and sociological issues woven into the plots that are full of irony, farce, and versatile characters. One of Jane Austen s most appreciated novels Pride and Prejudice illustrates the topic that I will explore in my extended essay, which is the male world versus the female one. In order to address my question How does social status and gender bias influence life decisions and perceptions of the world in Austen s Pride and Prejudice? I will investigate and portray the specific views of both gender s worlds as offered by Austen in comparison to the established ones from Nineteenth Century England. The social status and genders of the characters influence their lives in all aspects, from determining their perceptions of the world to limiting their potentials in life decisions. I strongly believe that my topic of choice is worth investigating; my work doesn t just outline the role of social rank and gender in Nineteenth Century England, it also includes widely accepted knowledge about intellectual differences between the genders and their interpersonal relationships. Furthermore my essay will be supplemented by unique insight into the life of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

How can you begin to describe something that varies so greatly from one human being to another? Can you create a universal meaning for a word describing human concepts that people often fail to define for themselves? Of course there isn t one definition to define such a word. It is an intricate aspect of human nature, and it has a definition just as complex. So your identity can include your name, your age, your job title, or simply characteristics of your ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Everyone has heard that it is who you are on the inside that counts. This part of your identity is what makes a person truly unique. It is true that someone can have the same name, be the same age, or have the same job as you. So your identities would seem very similar. It is possible for two people from the same place that share such numerous interests to believe that they are one and the same. That is until you take a closer look and examine the person?s thought and feelings. No two people are exactly alike. Our identities spawn individuality. Therefore, your identity also shows what kind of person you are beneath the skin. It is a picture of how your view your self and your purpose in the world. Since identity is so often built from fads, it is a reflection of culture. People want to be like what they see on television and hear on the radio. So people mold themselves to be like the idols they are so infatuated with. It?s always about what?s popular, and by looking at a large group you can tell what that is at any given time, because people like to connect their identities with one another. It creates a sense of belonging and acceptance that humans need in order to feel like they fit into society. People have to be able to bond with one another. Having a vastly different identity makes you an outcast, and no one wants to know how it feels to be the loner. So people alter themselves to ensure that they will ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The psychological impact it has can alter one s values, morals, and even their sanity. Psychoanalytic criticism is a literary theory used to analyze a text, for the main purpose of understanding the motives behind an individual s behavior. It claims that through the process of psychoanalysis, initially introduced by Sigmund Freud, the reader can bring to surface the unconscious anxieties and desires of a particular character. The American Dream in the novel is depicted through Daisy, as she is a paradigm of what once was pure and innocent, now corrupted and tainted by greed. James Nagel, in his article The Great Gatsby and the American Dream explains it as such; the version of it (The American Dream) sought by Gatsby and Nick is a degraded corruption of the idea, a formulation that reduces the objective to money and to social status based on surface riches. (Nagel 1). Gatsby is subconsciously in denial of this fact, as he is chasing a tainted American Dream. As he is persistent with the fact that he could repeat the past, and be with Daisy before she loved Tom. His subconscious protects his ego by denying the simple reality of things. When confronted by Gatsby, Daisy says, Oh, you want too much... I love you now isn t that enough? I can t help what s past. (Fitzgerald 126). Gatsby is using denial as a defense mechanism to block out that fact that the American Dream he is trying so hard to achieve is corrupted and cannot bring him any fulfillment. Originally the American Dream promoted values such as knowledge, compassion, insight, and a human understanding that allowed for the harmonious progress of society. To first understand why the doctrine of separations of powers operates differently in Australia, we first must establish what exactly the Separations of powers is. As such the Separations of Powers doctrine, can basically be expressed as separating the three major bodies of government, to reduce the likelihood of one body obtaining all the power in the government . The three bodies of government comprise of: the Legislative, the Executive and the Judicial. The Legislative body comprises up of parliament and their main role is to make the laws. The Executive role is to enforce the laws and they are made up of the Prime Minister and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is caused by the section 64 in the Constitution of the commonwealth of Australia, as section 64 states that all Federal Ministers must have sat in Parliament. This can be simply expressed, as all ministers of Australia s must have sat in the Lower House of Representatives, according to section 64 of the Constitution. The Lower House of Representatives is part of the Legislative body, while ministers of Australia are part of the executive body. This clearly establishes that the executive and legislative bodies overlap, meaning that Australia does not possess a true separation of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. Comparing Charles Darwin s Idea Of Evolution And Natural... Charles Darwin had arguably one of the best ideas anyone has ever had, the idea of evolution and natural selection. Along with these two ideas, he also noticed that all species are connected through the tree of life. While Darwin was studying finches in the Galapagos, he noticed each species of finch had a different type of beak. He latter understood that these different beaks were due to the varying types of diets of the birds based on what island they came from. The different beaks would help them open seeds easier or get nectar from flowers. The beaks showed Darwin s idea of natural selection and survival of the fittest. Darwin realized that the birds were able to change (or evolve) over time, based on how well their beaks aided in feeding ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. The Ivory Trade And Its Effect On The Trade Throughout the course of history, humans have long used the exchange of goods as a way to socially interact and provide for themselves. Trading is a cornerstone of modern society and it is how materials and objects can be transferred around the world. The ivory trade is a practice that has been in place for centuries. In the last one to two hundred years, the negative impacts of the trade have begun to surface. The elephant populations, specifically in Africa, are rapidly declining with the illegal trade taking place today. The ban on the ivory trade was put into place in order to save the elephant populations and reduce the harmful environmental impacts. The use of international law in the creation of the ban on the trade and the current ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the 19th century, most of the elephants in Southern Africa were wiped out, and then a large reduction of the animals in West Africa took place by the end of the 20th century. These huge reductions in the elephant populations meant that ivory was becoming scarcer. In the first half of the 20th century, the world was ravaged by large wars including both of the World Wars. The trade slowed a great deal, until the economic prosperity in the 1960s and 1970s sparked a new emergence of ivory demand (Underwood 8). Reports show that in the beginning of the 1970s, Japan was the largest global consumer of ivory, with about 40% consumption. Europe and North America were the next largest consumers, with another 40% being split between them (Underwood 8). An analysis of the trade shows that around this time, the elephant populations were under great stress. African elephants were at their lowest numbers ever, and they continued to decline with no real international efforts to stop the trade. While ivory may have been an important commodity in the world, the impacts that the trade had on the elephants and their environments was devastating. If the ivory trade was so significant back in the middle of the 20th century, then what changed in order to result in a ban on it? The international community brought attention to this issue and began to implement international law with the introduction of CITES, or the Convention on International Trade ... • 35. Analysis Of Erasmus s Praise Of Folly In Erasmus s Praise of Folly, Erasmus discusses how Folly is indebted into her wisdom. Folly, the daughter of Plutus and Youth, wants to inform all of the great gods that she can bring joy to everyone. She wanted to build an empire of her own, since there was not one built for her. Many of the gods during that time had the perception that many women did not know what they were talking about, and were seen as simple minded. However, Folly has the idea that people will not be able to create or form any relationship without her power. Since Folly believes that no one takes her serious, or any of her propositions, she wants to show everyone that life would not be the same without her. In a sense, Folly is giving herself credit so that everyone can value her even more. As she is talking about herself, she is giving everyone else the opportunity to see what kind of person she really is. Erasmus states that I am the one and indeed, the only one whose divine powers can gladden the hearts of gods and men (9). This quote explains the idea of Folly proving to everyone that life would not be the same without her. Words such divine powers and gladden can depict the idea that Folly is going to do whatever it takes to her point across to the gods and everyone else. As Erasmus explains that Folly is the cause of life for everyone, he also describes how she is the cause of human interactions. Humans bond so that they can form a connection with one another. Folly further explains ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. Research Study On A Nurse Practitioner Operated Diabetic... Research Methodology Sample Setting and Strategy The setting for this research proposal study will be a Nurse practitioner operated diabetic clinic with a population of 2,500 patients. A targeted population of older adults from age 45 to 70 years, who have graduated from high school, and were diagnosed with type 2 diabetes for greater than 6 months will be used. The inclusion criteria for this research study will be: age 45 years or older, high school graduates, diagnosed with type 2 diabetes for 6 months or greater, with a hemoglobin AIC of 7.0 or greater; exclusion criteria would be: age less than 45 years, did not graduate from high school, not diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, and a hemoglobin AIC of less than 7.0 (Riley, 2013). Of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The rational for this selection is that quasi experimental designs are used to determine the effects of an intervention, such as diabetes group office visits on participants receiving and not receiving this intervention (Grove, Burns, Gray, 2013). Even though convenience sampling is known to be a weak method of sampling due to its lack of bias control, it can work significantly well when knowledge and care is used to perform a study (Grove, Burns, Gray, 2013). Extraneous Variables Extraneous variables are variables that are not desired by the researcher, but they influence the relationship of the study variables (Dictionary of Nursing Theory and Research, 2010). In order to properly interpret study results, the goal of the research design is to control these variables (Dictionary of Nursing Theory and Research, 2010). A study environment that is not controlled introduces extraneous variables, so it is important to have an environment that is equal to all participants (Grove, Burns, Gray, 2013). An example of an extraneous variable in this study would be previous diabetes knowledge, because level of education is an important extraneous variable (Grove, Burns, Gray, 2013). It would be ideal if all participants had the same education level. An ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. Deviance Is A Violation Of Social Norms Imagine someone rich or powerful committing crimes without the fear of serving consequences. The crime may include murder, robbery, or stealing. Deviance is a label for an action or behavior that violates social norms. Social norms are rules or expectations which usually guide members of society. Deviance is nonconformity to these norms. Social norms can vary from culture to culture and is defined in numerous ways. Many researchers believe that deviance is a violation of social norms. Some believe deviant behavior is breaking the law or acting in a negative manner. Sociologists use specific words to classify deviant actions from a sociological perspective. There are crimes that are deviant actions and not deviant acts. For example; this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Many laws are enacted to punish criminals and protect individuals from violent deviant actions. Privileged Deviance is economically costly because some powerful individuals attempt to escape the consequences of deviant actions. Deviance occurs through interactions between individuals and groups. The labeling theory discusses the social behavior of how and why individuals continue deviant activity to maintain their identity or label. Thio, Taylor, and Schwartz state the word interaction deviance is a human activity involving more than one person s act (Thio, et. al, 2013, p. 35). The theory suggests individuals reflect on their behavior and how others view their actions. The labeling theory can be linked to the symbolic interaction foundation perspective. Understanding deviance and criminal behavior are addressed through the labeling theory. Thio, Taylor, and Schwartz suggest that the deviant act begins with the hypothesis that no act is essentially criminal. Criminality is recognized by individuals who feel powerful through the design of laws and the interpretation of law enforcement. Deviance is determined by the interaction between deviant and nondeviant actions and how the community interprets the actions. Individuals who adhere to the law and promote acceptable behaviors are the main source of labeling. For example; this may include police officers, courts, or school authorities. Defining specific ...
