Summary Of The Life Changing Magic Of Tidying Up By Marie...
The popularity of Marie Kendo s book, The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up, shows people how
to live in a proper life. Here, the author gives a definition to proper life. That is, a proper life should
spark joy. Well, I think there are tremendous ways to sparking joy. For instance, make more money;
get a valuable present and so on. Most people will give the definition of proper life as getting more
just like the examples I give above. In the book, the author gives an opposite opinion. She tries to tell
people that tidying up are not just a method of physical self help but also a method of mental self help.
Getting more doesn t mean to get things that really spark joy to heart. The past decades witness a great
growth in economy, which means people ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, people s joyfulness and the things they occupy do not witness correlation. Here is the data
from Nelson. Only 20% people will feel happy during a week when they get a new bag. Then they
will abandon them and seek for something new. Therefore, things become more and more. They
clutter in your room and clutter in your mind. The book itself focuses on one thing when tidying up.
That is, Keep only the things that spark to your heart. Then take the plunge and discard all the rest .
When we just ask for more things, it s quit hard for us to make it clear what is important to our life.
Because asking for more just make us caught in our desire and anxiety. When we just want more, we
just do not want to be left behind and we just want to have the same things as others. This situation
mess up our life just as we are living in mist and cannot see the road we really want to take. After
decades, people begin to recognize this problem: we could not get continuous joy just by getting more
things. Therefore people begin to ask for the joy of mind. In today s world, a 4% percent growth in
goodwill industry is witnessed, which is a good proof for people s choice of

The Courtship Of Mr. Lyon By Angela Carter
The Courtship of Mr. Lyon Angela Carter This short story involves almost an identical plot to the
original Beauty and the Beast. The theme expressed throughout both is that beauty is what s on the
inside, rather than what s on the outside, which is portrayed through the main character, Beauty. The
author used the circumstances of Beauty s father to show that her sweetness and her gravity was
transformed into a lacquer of the invincible prettiness that characterizes certain pampered, exquisite,
expensive cats by his restored wealth (Carter 143). While the story involves elements of storytelling
just by following the plot of the original tale, it s lacking emotion. The author of this short story

Example Of Cultural Analysis
Cultural Expectations and Proxemics As consumers in this country, we all at some point, have or will
have gone out to eat at a public restaurant. The site I chose was a Mexican restaurant called Zacatecas,
which is located in a shopping center in Galt. This shopping center has a variety of other business
establishments like a Raley s grocery store, Walmart, two coffee shops, pizza shop, and a Chinese
restaurant to mention a few. This location is always busy with a variety of consumers with different
cultural perspectives. I find it interesting how different people with different cultural customs occupy
space, proxemics, in a public Mexican restaurant. I feel that anthropologists would find it very
interesting how different cultures occupy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As I walked I noticed there were customers, all Caucasians, sitting at four different tables that were all
against the wall and the middle of the dining area was empty. I proceeded to the bar and was greeted
by the bartender/waitress, who was also a female Caucasian. The employees at the restaurant were
mostly Caucasian with the exception of one Hispanic looking waitress and the part of the cooking
staff. Shortly after, a white couple sat down a few bar stools away from me, but not very close. They
sat there having a couple of margaritas engaged in deep conversation. Glancing back over to the
dining area I noticed it was getting busier with more customers coming in. What I noticed first, was
that everyone was gravitating to all the outer tables against the wall and front windows. Secondly, that
I was the only Hispanic customer at that time. All customers were engaged in conversation, eating or
watching the televisions. The employees were running around taking food orders and taking food out
to customers. Most customers seemed to be in good spirts with the exception of one table. At this table
there was an elderly woman with her daughter. The daughter was complaining that her mother
received the wrong food and that it took too long for their order to come out.

Accuracy Of Evolution Through Upanishads
Accuracy In Evolution Through Upanishads
The Upanishads, dating from around 800 B.C., take us further in the advancement of Indo Aryan
thought, and it is a major step. The Aryans have long been settled down and a firm, prosperous human
advancement has grown up, a blend of the old and the new, commanded by Aryan thought and goals,
however with a foundation of more primitive types of worship. The Vedas are alluded to with respect,
additionally in a soul of delicate irony. The Vedic gods no more fulfil and the custom of the priests is
ridiculed. There is no endeavour to cut from the past; the past is taken as a beginning stage for further
advancement.
The Upanishads are nature with a soul of enquiry, of mental experience, of an energy for figuring out
reality about things. The quest for this truth is, obviously, not by the target techniques for present day
science, yet there is a component of the experimental system in the methodology. No authoritative
opinion is permitted to come in the way. There is much that is trifling and with no significance for us
to day. The pressure is basically on self realisation, on knowledge of the individual self and and the
universal self, both of which are said to be the same fundamentally. The target outside world is not
viewed as unreal but real in a relative sense, a part of the internal reality.
There are numerous ambiguities in the Upanishads and distinctive translations have been made. But
that is a matter for the philosopher or

Patriarchy Or A Silent Feminist, By William Faulkner
Patriarchy or a silent feminist, in the 1931 short story by William Faulkner patriarchy was the way of
life, men are the dominate gender and women submissive. According to Sweeting DeCaro patriarchy
is most men and (some) women believe that anyone who violates traditional gender roles in some way
is unnatural, unhealthy and even immoral . (2016) Emily is among some of them, but this is a feminist

Essay Pip s Great Expectations
In the novel, Great Expectations by Charles Dickens, the main character Philip Pirrip, who is known
as Pip throughout the novel, has a series of great expectations that he goes through. The title of the
novel, as many other great book titles, comes with various meanings that are present in the story. In
the literal sense Pip s great expectations refer to the 19th century meaning, which involve receiving a
large inheritance. Meanwhile, on a deeper level Pip sets goals that he hopes to accomplish in the
future which could also be referred to as his great expectations . The title, with these multiple
meanings that are attached to it, ends up being ironic after all is said and done at the end of the novel.

decides to recompense Pip for his time and then tells him that he no longer has to come back to the
Satis House. Everyday after this, Pip continuously thinks of Estella and of how he must become a
gentleman in order to be at the same level as Estella and eventually marry her. Another character
Biddy (whose relationship to Pip is somewhat complicated) begins acting as Pip s teacher and Pip says
[w]hatever [he] acquired, [he] tried to impart to Joe, because [he] wanted to make Joe less ignorant

worthy of Estella s affection are two goals or great expectations that Pip sets for himself that
ultimately carry the plot of the novel along.
After being released from Ms. Havishams service, Pip becomes Joe s apprentice. Four years into his
apprenticeship, Pip is approached by a man who he vaguely remembers meeting once at the Satis

The Effects Of Diversity On Hollywood And One Of The Most...
There has been many controversies about the lack of diversity in Hollywood and one of the most
recent one was the 2016 Oscars. The Oscars is an award show that showcase the best people in front
and behind the camera. Unfortunately there was barely any diversity in the nominations this year since
most nominators were white, even though there was many diverse films that were considered Oscar
worthy. With that being said, people protested that there needs to be more diversity in these categories
and some actors agreeing by using the hashtag #OscarsSoWhite in social media. To make things
worse, the Academy Awards members are majority older white males which brought to the attention
from the protesters that in order to have diversity into the awards, the members itself needs to
represent of all races so, it can be considered a fair choice. Which make sense to why throughout
history of the Oscars there was always a discrepancy of diversity in the nominations since 1929
because only a very small percentage of minorities actors have received an award compared to the
white actors that dominated the Oscars with a high percentage of winners. This created tension in
Hollywood that the Oscars are marginalizing itself as a all white program and that there needs to be
changes. When the nominations were being announced for the 2016 Oscars, many were surprised of
the lack of diversity and the films that were snubbed. One in particular would be Beast of No
Nation,which received

Snowball and Napoleon where information about each animal did chores during each week. The pigs
had taken charge of the farm as they were more educated while the other animals carried out their

Examples Of Non Equal In Harrison Bergeron
Non Equal in Harrison Bergeron
Imagine the United States in 2081, where everyone is equal by handicaps. Do you think handicaps can
make a society equal? In the story Harrison Bergeron , it is 2081 and everyone is finally equal because
of the handicapper general. These handicaps are able to prevent people from doing what they are good
at so they can be average like others. I believe the society in Harrison Bergeron is not equal due to the
fact that some people in the story still have advantages, even with handicaps.
To begin, I think the society in Harrison Bergeron written by Kurt Vonnegut, is not equal because the
character George has handicaps, which prevents him from having freedom like his wife, Hazel, has.
According to the text, it says He was required by law to wear it at all times, and send out some sharp
noise to keep people like George from taking unfair advantages. The text proves that the society is not
equal because George does not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Based on what I read, it says every few seconds, a transmitter would make a sharp sound to stop
George from thinking , That was a pretty dance, Hazel said , and George toyed with the idea of
ballerinas shouldn t be handicapped. This is significant by the reason is that in twenty seconds, George
was still able to think of how the ballerinas should not be handicapped when he has handicaps
stopping him from thinking a few seconds later. As for Hazel, all she can think of was how the
ballerinas dance beautifully. While others may believe that handicaps can control and maintain people
to be equal, what they should think about is about the intelligence each person has. For example,
George is above average and is able to have the advantage to think of many things.CONCLUSION

Essay on Sentimental Monarchy
Monarchies have shifted to less political importance over the years in favor to parliament and a
democratically elected prime minister. The film The Queen is a great example of the limited power of
Queen Elizabeth II in present day and shows the ceremonial purposes of her role. The main reasons
that this role shift has happened is because monarchs abused their unlimited power repeatedly. Oliver
Cromwell was one man who did not like the way his King, Charles I, was controlling the country and
decided to do something about it. What some find startling is that Charles I reign ended by being
sentenced to death, and by being beheaded under the weight of an axe. Charles I was disliked by many
of his people because he was trying to change the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So bad that it has led to the current state of a limited monarchy that is regarded more for historical
preservation purposes and tourism. Monarchies would be fantastic if the royal family is perfect and
ruled fairly for the good of its people, but the lavish lives that have been historically accompanied to
royalty have created an almost religious type of support. After years of royalty leading the public, its
disciples begin to follow blindly and without any control of the government or say in decisions being
made. If the position of King or Queen was low key such as the current prime minister, or presidential
positions there might not be so much opposition from the public. As the royal family is busy having 10
course meals in lavish clothing and living spaces, its people are often in the streets with little money
for food or basic clothing. This is the most condescending aspect of the status of royalty who are
accompanied by butlers and servants around the clock. How can they relate to its common people if
they don t know what it s like to live in the real world and not some fantasy? How can a person be in
favor for a King to rule your country in absolute control who has never worked for any achievements
other than being born by the right parents? The Queen (film) represents the royal family in present
time as Queen Elizabeth II is in charge of the monarchy. This movie

The Buckley Lj On Employment Law
The Buckley LJ comments set out in Montgomery v Johnson Underwood concerning employment
relationship determinations involving mutual obligation and control concepts, underscore modern
English employment law s evolutionary character. The employment law jurisprudence to which
Montgomery v Johnson Underwood contributes is reviewed below. The critical evaluation advanced
in the following sections confirms the now well entrenched mutuality test is a reasonable means by
which this familiar but elusive question concerning employee versus independent contractor status is
consistently resolved. No test devised to deal with highly circumstance driven legal issues will provide
perfect solutions in every case the employment agency circumstances considered in Montgomery
confirm this observation. The mutuality test delivers an appropriate level of essential predictability in
this area.
The broader Montgomery v Johnson Underwood context
The three cornered dealings typically arising between a business enterprise, employment agency, and a
client the agency places with the enterprise provide essential context to Buckley LJ s Montgomery
observations.
The Montgomery claimant was placed by the defendant agency with the agency s client company as a
receptionist. After two years, the agency gave the claimant termination notice at the company s
request. At all material times, the claimant took her day to day workplace direction from the company,
not the agency. However, pursuant

Data Analysis Method
Throughout our observation week we were able to collect vast amount of data both from observations
and interviews. In order to let our data speak to us and help us to understand how the collaborative
work is conducted between ITB and Royal Danish Library we have adopted grounded theory method
as a main data analysis practice to work with. This decision involved summarizing cons and pros of
using this approach. According to Glaser, Barney G Strauss (1967), using grounded theory involves
development of theory rather by logical deduction then from experimental data itself. The publication
of The Discovery of Grounded theory finds it relevant in practical applications and enable prediction
and explanation of behavior. As our field setting is not often overflown with different actors we have
decided to unlock behavioral patterns and get insight also on the profiles of employees. By this
approach we have enriched our data, by being able to see connection between artifacts and articulation
work, that draws an implication of artifacts in collaborative work. Moreover we have observed that
each artifact might have different purpose of use as it is observed by different point of views from
different subjects. The fact that we were able to actually observe appropriation in collaborative work,
which can be described such as an assimilation of technology by group of people in completely
different manner as designer firstly intended to, made us to logically distinguish between different

This act was no way as popular as the as the Irish Church Act. The reasons being that the Land owners

was a hard act to choose if it s in favour of liberation or not. Overall it s fifty fifty as the party was a
torn between pleasing the Lords or the lower working class men. An act that was less popular than the
Irish Act was the University Act. The liberals set up Roman Catholic University. In the university
Modern History, Philosophy and Theology wouldn t be taught in the. This act was very unpopular and
it was defeated in the House of common. Also it didn t please the catholic Bishops. This was a step too
far for the liberals and after it Gladstone offered to resign.
The University act wasn t liberating or popular. However that does not mean that all the unpopular
acts were unpopular. The army reform was very unpopular among the Aristocracy, the Senior Officers
and the Conservatives. The Army reform act was very liberating. There were two main reasons for the
reform in the army. One of the reasons was the Crimean War 1854 6 in which mare soldiers were
killed from disease than the ones that were killed in the war. The second reason was the France
Prussian war 1870. In the war the German army was much disciplined and so do extremely well in the
war against France. These two reasons made Gladstone feel that change was needed. So he introduced
the reform act.

Software Security Is The Biggest E Commerce Retailer
Introduction
Software security is a concept of engineering software and it goes on functioning appropriately under
malicious attack. Majority of technologies accept the significance of this undertaking, but they require
assistance in understanding how to confront it. Best practices for software security leverage the sound
software engineering practices that include thinking about the security primarily in the software
lifecycle, understanding and knowing common threats (inclusive of pitfalls and flaws that are
language based), design for security and subjecting every software artifact to comprehensive objective
testing and risk analyses.
Security is an extent of the ability of the system for protecting information and data from unauthorized
access however still giving access to systems and people that are authorized. Attack can be seen as an
action taken against a computer system having the intent of causing harm, to it and this may take
numerous forms. It may refer to attempts aimed at accessing services or data, or modification of data,
or might be an intention of denying services for legitimate users.

The Border, The Imaginary And Unseen Border Essay
To have a complete understanding of what a border is one must come to the other form of the border,
the imaginary and unseen border. This abstract border separates people from one another without any
real embodiment of the border itself. This particular border does not necessarily have concrete matter,
which separates people like fences, gates, towers, and walls. Moreover, it does not have to be policed.
Ergo, such border exists without any limitation of space and time. This abstract border does create the
same effect as the concrete border, separating and labeling people, as them and us. Nonetheless, the
abstract border affects people beyond labelling and separation. As the Xuncax siblings in El Norte
succeeded in crossing the concrete U.S. Mexico border, they had to face the abstract border, the
language border. Knowing nothing of English hinders them in coping with their new life in America.
Language is the first border they have to pass in the new land. Because Enrique could not speak
English, he is unable to find a job easily since he could not communicate with other people who might
need his service. In the same boat, Rosa, being unable to comprehend her employer s explanation on
how to use the washing machine, ends up washing all the clothes by hands and let them dry under the
sun. In a word, their unavailability to cross the language border is apparently making an impediment
for them to find a job for living or to execute the employer s request correctly.

North Korea s Nuclear Weapons Program Essay
North Korea s Nuclear Weapons program is a major international crisis. In early September of this
year the radical regime of North Korea conducted a Nuclear Weapons test, which broke regional
stability and put the world on alert. North Korea continues to test intercontinental ballistic missiles
and develop more dangerous nuclear warheads to eventually strategically strike South Korea and the
United States. The test was later confirmed by many intelligence agencies as real and extremely
powerful. With current policies failing to address the issue of North Korean Nuclear weapons program
the international community should implement policies of coercive diplomacy, non government
organization executed soft power or putting pressure on China to end the threat of a nuclear weapons

nuclear warhead that has been standardized to be able to be mounted on a strategic ballistic rockets

almost ended my softball career. Starting out in little league the pitcher is required to wear a batting
helmet while playing the pitching position. This is for ages normally 5 and under, at this age the girls
are still using pitching machines or coach pitch. As the older the girls get the rules change, no face
mask or helmet has to be worn while pitching. As for me I hated wearing face mask, I always had an
excuse to not wear it. Who would ve thought that it would one day save my life.
My mom and I are both as stubborn as a mule. We both want to get our own ways, and most of the
time our ways are polar opposites from one another. So therefore one of us has to give and me being
the child 95% of the time it s me. When it came to softball most of the time are arguments were about
when and when not I should have to wear a face mask. My main two positions are first base and
pitcher. These two positions require fast reaction time as well does third base. This is because while
the pitcher is in her wind up the first and third basemen are creeping closer towards the batter to be
ready to field a bunt or a ground ball. This is not always the case though, sometimes when the batter is
squared up to bunt we crash towards the batter as fast as we can and countless of the times they

Legal Issues Surrounding The Death Penalty
Some legal issues gain importance because they concern basic religious, social and ethical values.
Capital punishment is one of these concerning issues. Most people hold an opinion, pro or con
regarding the death penalty. Many people who favor the death penalty believe that capital punishment
costs less money, reduces the amount of murderers, and fulfills the concept of justice. On the other
hand people who disagree with capital punishment believe that innocent people are often put to death,
it doesn t fix the crime person committed, and it s a cruel punishment. In viewing both sides of the
argument it is clear that the death penalty must be abolished.
The history of the death penalty goes back as far as people can remember. The earliest records ...

The issue moved onto a front burner in July 1997 when Dieter s group published a report claiming that
69 innocent persons had been freed from death rows since the reinstitution of capital punishment in
the United States in 1976. (Jost) The death penalty can be faulty. Some also say that there s no point in
putting someone to death. Revenge, anger and hate will never cure the sadness of a lost loved one.
They believe that it doesn t change the fact that crime the suspect committed can never be fixed. What
s done is done, and it can t be taken back. Also different types of people like the mentally ill or
juveniles get treated differently when it comes to the death penalty. Sick people and children should
not be executed. The death penalty applies differently towards different people; For Example the
United States has executed more juvenile offenders 160 than any nation since 1973. (Cooper) Most
who agree with capital punishment follow the old Bible teaching, An eye for an eye, a tooth for a
tooth, and a life for a life. Support for the capital punishment is strong in the U.S. 64% express support
for the death penalty (McCarthy) according to the recent Gallup Poll. People believe that anyone who
takes another s life away deserves to have their life taken. Many believe that the system serves as a
form of justice allowing suspect to get what they deserve. Many people think that the families of the
victims should be able to see the murderer suffer just as their loved ones

Narrative Essay On Bullfrog
Nearly every kid at some point in their childhood has had a certain toy or item they would do anything
to have. That one item consumes every thought in that kid s mind and if that kid was like me, they will
not stop trying until they have it in their possession. During part of my first grade year, this one item
was the bullfrog Webkinz. Why a bullfrog you may ask? That was the one my brother was asking for
on his birthday in a few weeks and I was up for any possible way I could beat him or compete with
him, no matter what it was. Nearly all of my friends and classmates already had multiple Webkinz and
I didn t have a single one.
Now it came to the hard part: how I was going to get it. I had already begged and pleaded for it from
my parents to the point I annoyed them so much i m pretty sure my mom wanted to scratch her eyes
out every time I spoke a word about that Webkinz. She even refused to let me go to the store with her,
knowing I would quickly escape to the Webkinz rack and I would glue my feet there until she
practically had to drag me out the doors. She then proceeded to tell me that the only way I was going
to own it was if I saved up my money and that doing so was a good lesson for when I was older . ...

Practically the only time I got money was my birthday and Christmas and I was a very impulsive kid,
I definitely did not save any of it. I earned a couple dollars from a lemonade stand where the only
customers were my parents and the lady that lived next door whom we pressured into getting a cup.
My solution finally fell into place the following weekend when we went to the park in downtown
Plymouth for some kind of concert. After setting up all of our chairs, I left the group to go throw a
coin into the massive, prodigious fountain which has always been my favorite feature of the park. My
wish before casting it into the water was pretty predictable: I wished for the Webkinz of

Investigating The Hardness Of River Tank And Tap Water
Water Hardness EEI
The aim of this investigation is to use a quantitative method to determine the hardness of river, tank
and tap water. Using chemicals including pH 10 buffer solution, Eriochrome Black T Indicator, 0.01M
magnesium chloride and 0.01M EDTA solution the milligrams of calcium carbonate per litre of the
three water samples (river, tank and tap) was tested. Using this method, it was discovered that river
water had the highest concentration of calcium carbonate of the samples, therefore was the hardest
water sample tested, whilst the tank water had the lowest concentration of calcium carbonate,
therefore it was the softest of the water samples. This investigation proved the hypothesis and the
quantitative method used worked ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The bonding within the water molecule and the interaction between the water molecules causes the
molecules to organise themselves in a bent shape. Both a space model and electron dot diagram of a
water molecule have been supplied in the appendix Image 1. Water has many unique properties, which
has allowed life to exist: for example, if ice didn t have a lower density than water, the oceans would
have frozen from the bottom up, killing all forms of life. Water is denser than ice because the
molecules in ice are further from each other than they are in water. Another property of water is that it
is a good solvent and is often called the universal solvent because of the number and variety of
substances that dissolve in it, including inorganic salts like sodium chloride separate. This is because
the cations are attracted to the negative end of the water molecule (the oxygen atom) while anions are
attracted to the positive end of the water molecule (the hydrogen atoms). The separated ions are then
surrounded by water molecules and are said to be hydrated ions. However, the presence of different
solutes, such as sodium chloride, can change some of the properties of water. One thing solutes often
do is decrease the freezing point and increase the boiling point. This adjustment can then be used as an
advantage, for example, when 76g of ethylene glycol, or antifreeze, is added to 1000g

Gm Foods Persuasive Speech
Good Morning Friends, I m Barnaby Joyce, the Deputy Prime Minister of Australia and the Minister
for Agriculture and Water Resources. As an Australian, a rural Australian, I encourage you to support
our local products, but it is more than patriotism involved here, local products are clean, clear and
most importantly, organic fresh produce. The essence of my speech today is to convey the hidden truth
behind Genetically Modified Foods, more oftenly portrayed as GM Foods. You might be asking; what
is this Genetically Modified Foods, well, Genetically Modified Foods are foods with their genes
altered, in other words, scientists remove genes from the DNA of a particular organism, for example a
rat, THEN recombine it with the DNA of the plant they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Food allergies have skyrocketed, disorders such as autism and diseases in our reproductive and
digestive are also clearly evident. It s been confirmed that GMOs are a contributing factor to all these
illnesses. Why continue eating foods with chemicals injected into them, when we have the availability
as well as the opportunity to enjoy and eat organic fresh produces that s packed with both flavours and
nutrients. Did you know that, GM crops can harm birds, insects, soil organisms, and marine
ecosystems; This might not seem like a BIG DEAL to us at the start, but in reality, it should be:
interrupting the niche of a single organism DEMOLISHES the whole food chain, this means; that it
will be OUR children, that will have to pay the price for what WE have all created during our
generation. There have been fairy tales floating around, saying, GMO S increase yield and help feed a
hungry world. As the deputy prime minister of Australia, I alert you to the fact that, GMOs DO NOT
increase yield, in fact they work AGAINST feeding a hungry world. According to the Australian
Institute of Food Research, NON GM Foods used in developing countries have resulted in yield
increases of more than 80%. ALSO, it is time we understood the fact that, starvation is NOT caused by
a lack of food! World

The Individualism Of The American Colonies
In this passage, Paine emphasizes how the unique individualism of the American colonies cannot exist
under Great Britain. While it may be a rational and more peaceful decision to remain under Great
Britain s control, the oppression of the American colonies individualism is one that goes against
common sense and is a situation that calls for a passionate revolution. The emphasis on individualism
and passionate expression of the self during the late 18th and early 19th century is also exemplified in
the musical realm through the revolutionary work of one of the most highly influential musicians,
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. At the time of Mozart s birth, the most popular and conventional music
was created in the style of the Renaissance and Baroque periods. After the discovery of Mozart s
prodigal musical genius and honing his skill through several positions of employment, Mozart began
to realize his individualism as a gifted artist. Mozart became aware of his potential for greatness and
used his gift not to conform to the style of music at the time, but to use his music as a form of
passionate self expression. Mozart would not let anything extinguish his passion and freedom to
create, even if it caused him great financial struggle throughout most of adulthood. The musical pieces
Mozart created differed from that the music of the time in the sense that his work was highly driven by
passion and emotion. Rather than focusing solely on the structure and the elaborateness of the

had cancer. It was not until the nineteen eighties, that a scientist discovered that the human papilloma

vaccine has the possibility to eradicate cervical cancer. Furthermore, he HPV vaccine will not only
save lives annually, but it will also reduce sexually transmitted infections.
The HPV vaccine should be required on the grounds that it will reduce sexually transmitted infections
in the United States. The human papillomavirus is spread and contracted through sexual intercourse.
Around twenty million people have the human papillomavirus in the United States (Creel). An
abundance of people do not realize that they have been infected by the human papillomavirus since it
has no symptoms, thus making the virus dangerous. If a person has the human papilloma virus and
does not acquire treatment, it can lead to cancer or genital warts. Women might learn if they have
contracted the human papilloma virus if they have a Pap smear test done. Unfortunately, men are not
able to know if they have the virus unless they develop genital warts or cancer. Research shows that
the HPV vaccine, produces a strong immune response when tested (Creel). If a person decides to
receive the vaccine when required and is ever exposed to the virus the chances of contracting the virus
are extremely low. As of today, studies show that both HPV vaccines can reduce the risk of
contracting cancer and genital warts

School is supposed to be a place where children learn and are prepared to conquer themselves and the

The Importance Of Technology In The Private Eye
The Private Eye (by Brian K. Vaughan, Marcos Martins with Muntsa Vicente), a sci fi graphic novel,
explores society s views on technology by defying what the reader may expect by portraying a society
that strongly opposes and fears current world attitudes towards technology. Privacy in this world is
seen as so exceedingly important that society in it has completely rejected the internet. They still
advance technologically, but in a different direction than in the real world, and use various kinds of
masks and other appearance altering technologies for the sake of privacy. They gravitate towards these
types of technology because of familiarity, and deny anything that could potentially compromise their
privacy, like the internet. Essentially, it s a moral thing, but to the degree that threatening privacy
would be like threatening their freedom. Privacy is part of what being a human is to these people. It s
a natural thing that everyone should have to them. This is where The Private Eye and real life are most
alike in that one s idea of what it is to be human determines willingness to accept new technologies.
Familiarity is what causes this idea of what human is when it comes to accepting new technology or
ideas.
In real life, people generally enjoy the ideas of sci fi esque technologies in theory. The reason many
inventions in science fiction don t actually exist is because they go beyond what people consider
human, at least the doable ones. Sure, technology is intended to

Elements Of Civil Disobedience
The term Civil Disobedience was first introduced by Henry David Thoreau in his 1849 essay as a form
of protest to voice opposition to an unjust policy.Throughout the century, acts of civil disobedience
have helped to force reassessment of society s moral parameters. More recently, we can still read from
the daily news on such move happens in virtually democratic countries such as Hong Kong and the
United State. This essay will first discuss about possible traits of Civil Disobedience to distinguish it
from ordinary illegal acts and afterwards comment on the problems or grey areas that this distinction
has brought forth.
Undoubtedly, both civil disobedience and common illegal acts will contravene the legal system.
However, civil disobedience is generally regarded as more morally defensible than ordinary crime
attributed to 4 defining features defended by John Rawls (1971).The 4 features will be concisely

The Sociological Theory Of Howard Becker s Labeling Theory

Studies in the Sociology of Deviance, by Howard Becker (1963), he pointed out that social groups
create deviance by making the rules whose infraction constitutes deviance, and by applying those rules
to particular people and labelling them as outsiders. (Becker, 1963) In this sense, deviation is not the
substance of the form of activity of a person who makes, but that is the effect of others applying the
rules of punishment for the offender . Additionally, long term labeling will become the lock of

Socrates Flaws
Socrates, in a simple but bold statement, proclaims wisdom as being the cardinal virtue. He believed
that if one does not examine oneself, their life has no true meaning. Socrates defended the idea and
virtue of self examination, for he believed it is through change and growth that people attain self
betterment. Not only this, but this method of critical reflection also realigns values with what is
actually important in life, such as wisdom and spirituality. Socrates believed that examination and
scrutiny of one s beliefs were necessary in order to improve oneself. Without review, people would
never be able to see their faults. Socrates lists this reason in Apology as why he cross examines
people: For I do nothing but go about persuading ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A person with unexamined values generally holds the insignificant to be what is important and what is
truly significant to be inconsequential. In the Apology, Socrates addresses the men of Athens on this
subject: Are you not ashamed of heaping up the greatest amount of money and honour and reputation,
and caring so little about wisdom and truth and the greatest improvement of the soul (Plato)? Through
this statement, Socrates argument perfectly encapsulates the state that an unexamined society exists in
one that values greatness over goodness. Though over two thousand years have passed since Socrates
stated this before the Athenian court, it remains an accurate portrait of society; the majority of people
amass material things, strive to become famous, and seemingly work only to gain wealth, all while
hardly caring about knowledge, morals, or personal integrity. These skewing of values are the result of
an unexamined life. People who never inspect what they hold valuable are swept up into society s race
to riches and fame, instead of focusing on enriching themselves and others with wisdom and truth.
People often ruin their lives as well as others in pursuit of their vices. Socrates knew that by
examining oneself and what values are genuinely important, one not only safeguards himself against
such downfalls, but they can also be led to the most valuable things of

Pivotal Dichotomy
The Pivotal Dichotomies of Science and Religion
Science can help identify and elaborate upon the laws of nature, help humans ascertain an improved
understanding of the universe, and enable people to acquire powerful thinking skills to generate
innovative and beneficial ideas. However, in the recent centuries many scholars have addressed the
numerous conflicts that have emerged between the fields of science and religion. Although certain
similar factors can render science and religion compatible, many differences have caused a
contentious divisiveness to permeate between the two fields. Many philosophers have contemplated
and debated the relationship between science and religion. While both science and religion ask and

Religion often concentrates its arguments on the actual creator or god of the universe. For instance,
religions often assert that God is a being with intelligence, will, desires, and dislikes. Religions in turn
have a propensity to focus on the desires of the creator, the codes of behavior that God expects
humans to exhibit, rewards the creator bestows upon those who obey these requirements, and the
punishments God inflicts upon transgressors who violate the requirements. Religion also emphasizes
the specific manners by which God created the universe, as in Genesis, established by the Ancient
Israelites and promoted by modern Christians. Rather than focusing on the actual creation or universe,
religions tend to focus on the creator and the concepts of God that are expressed and maintained in the
religious doctrine. In contrast, science tends to refrain from generating assertions regarding the creator
and instead focuses entirely on the actual creation. Science primarily addresses many different aspects
of the creation, including the beginnings of the universe, the matter and features of the world, how
stars and galaxies formed, how planets were established, how our planet generates life, and how life
functions and develops on Earth. Although science and religion both express divine laws, science
focuses on the laws of nature that govern the motions and developments of

Comparing Plato s The Symposium
In one of his most accomplished works, Plato brings to light the topic of alcohol and the significance
of drinking in The Symposium. Through this text, Plato is writing about philosophy is the setting of a
narrative in order to reinforce the context of the story. Plato was a metaphilosophist that supported the
theory of forms. He believed that understanding pure form, achieving true wisdom, is something that
cannot be defined or reduced to words, and all people should strive to understand pure form. The main
symbol in The Symposium, is wine, a representation of wisdom. Throughout the narrative, the
characters drink at a constant place. Having the wine allows for the men to open up and share their
ideas on love, as the characters try and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In a symposium, the symposiarch, the leader of the symposium, decides what is going to be talked
about, and each person at the symposium delivers a speech on that topic. As this is going on, the
people at the symposium pass around watered down wine and drink in rounds all at the same pace.
This drinking ritual is an example of sophrosunē, an Ancient Greek value that emphasized self
restraint and conforming to societal expectations.
The main concept that Plato bases his argument on is the theory of forms. According to the theory of
forms, the physical world is created by the abstract ideas and concepts known as the metaphysical
world. Plato believed that the physical world was not real and was simply an illusion for the
metaphysical world. in The Symposium, there are six different levels to the theory of forms as defined
by Diotima. Diotima defines the levels using the example of love, the topic of discussion at the
symposium. The first two levels fall into the physical world and are the love of one body and the love
of all bodies. The third, fourth, and fifth levels fall under the realm of the metaphysical world and are
the love of minds, the love of customs and traditions, and love of forms of knowledge respectively.
The highest level in the theory of forms is pure form which extends beyond the metaphysical world
and cannot be defined. Only beings that have achieved wisdom, beings that reside in the realm of pure
form, can understand this idea. Plato

When we view these two films from an auteur theory point of view, we are able to capture Spike Lee s
voice. One of the biggest traits you will witness in Spike Lee s films is the ability to zoom in on a
character and talk to the viewer. In Do the Right Thing and Malcolm X, Spike Lee would focus on a
particular character, as if to zone out everyone else within the film. In doing so, he was able to get his
point across because the viewer had no choice but to take in what was being said and the image
remained in the back of our minds. I know for a fact that more than 20 years later, the close up of
those films are still present in mind. This was a unique, personal, and creative vision of Spike Lee.
At the same time, Spike Lee had a way of focusing on specific areas or backgrounds within the film. A
great example is a scene in Do the Right Thing, where Spike Lee, himself was walking down the
sidewalk, delivering a pizza. The point of him delivering the pizza didn t really mean much. What
stood out about the scene is when Spike Lee left the scene and the camera remained. Those seconds of
footage displayed a sidewalk with an image, written by kids with chalk. Another great display of
Spike Lee s vision is how he could change scenes in the middle of conversation. A character could be
talking to someone, turn away from the person, look in the other direction, and what

Analyzing The Death Of Polonius In Shakespeare s Hamlet
Throughout William Shakespeare s play Hamlet, the protagonist, Hamlet, seeks to kill Claudius out of
revenge for his father s death. However the death of Polonius is often overlooked and is widely
accepted as a mistake made by Hamlet. Polonius is the Lord Chamber under Claudius and helps
Claudius manipulate his way to the throne. He is also a controlling father to Laertes and Ophelia. As
Claudius becomes more concerned and suspicious about Hamlet, Polonius stays faithful to Claudius
by deviously spying on Hamlet. The murder of Polonius is a direct result of his manipulative
character. Eric Sterling s literary criticism entitled Shakespeare s Hamlet, focuses on Polonius death
and how he wasn t mistakenly killed by Hamlet. From the series of events that took place directly
before Polonius s death in Act 3 Scene 3, it would have been ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Furthermore, Sterling points out how it is illogical for hamlet to assume that Claudius is the one
behind the curtain as right before Hamlet goes to talk to Gertrude he passes the kneeling Claudius and
mistakenly believes that the king is praying (Sterling par. 2). This indicates that it would not make
sense that Claudius would arrive in Gertrude s Room and hide before Hamlets arrival. In addition
Polonius s disapproval of Hamlet for his daughter Ophelia, who Hamlet is in love with, would be
another motive for Hamlet to commit this crime. Despite the numerous motives Hamlet has to kill
Polonius his ultimate revenge, as instructed by the ghost, is to kill Claudius and thus, to sanction his
murder of Polonius, the prince must pretend that he mistakes the courtier for Claudius (Sterling par.

Essay On Godrej
Latest improvements in Godrej Boyce Shifting to the online channel Godrej Appliances, which is a
key division of Godrej Boyce Manufacturing Corporation is shifting to the online platform. According
to Executive Vice President and Business Head, Kamal Nandi they are planning to offer customised
products on their e commerce platform to customers. They are planning to start with a pilot scheme to
check the effectiveness of the plan and then launch it basing upon the effectiveness. The pilot scheme
is planned to be rolled out by April and the final launch has been scheduled at June. There will be
ample choices of colours and designs across various product segments which will keep Godrej
products at par with the global trends. This goes along their plans of doubling the revenue from
premium category products from 10 per cent to 20 per cent over the next year. It can be inferred to be
a strategic move to change the positioning from the mass premium segment to the premium segment.
Godrej basically operates across two segments, one is the cooling products which cover air
conditioners and refrigerators and the other include house appliances like microwave ovens and
washing machines. Mr. Nandi stated that presently 1.5 per cent of the total turnover of the division

Uhigh Creek Water Quality
The question being investigated is, what is the water quality of the UHigh creek based on invertebrates
found in the water? The water quality is determined by the dissolved oxygen, the pH level, the
nitrogen levels, and phosphorous level. The dissolved oxygen is the amount of oxygen molecules
mixed in with the water molecules. If the dissolved oxygen level is low, then the water will become
polluted. Dissolved oxygen range is 1 14 parts per million or milligrams per liter(Riverwatch). The
aquatic organisms need these dissolved oxygen molecules to breathe and survive. Another factor for
measuring water quality is the pH levels. This measures the acidity of different solutions in the water.
A pH range of 6.5 8.5 is considered safe for aquatic life. Another factor for measuring water quality is
nitrogen. It is found as ammonia and the content of nitrogen in the water should be no more than 1.3
2.2 mg/L. If it is above this range it can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There were 10+ pieces of trash laying around. Some wrappers, beer cans, and other trash that was
littered around the creek. The amount of trash can affect the water quality because the garbage can
contaminate the water source. That could affect the water and the organisms living in and or around it.
Another reason why the water quality is fair is because many dead organisms were found in and out of
the creek. The amount of pollution in the water is caused by the phosphorus which can affect the water
quality in a bad way. If the water is contaminated, the organisms can t breath in the oxygen found in
the water. Once that occurs many organisms can die off and affect the water quality. The last reason
why the water quality is fair is because of the amount of algae. There was not a ton of algae found but
there was enough to hurt the organisms. Some algae can hold toxins which can affect the water quality
if it provides harmful

Mixtures, Explain Whether It Is A Solution Or A...
42. For each of the following mixtures, explain whether it is a solution or a heterogeneous mixture.
For the solutions, identify the solute and the solvent.
a) Cloudy pond water heterogeneous mixture, this is because it is cloudy, solute is dirt particles in the
water there is clay and humus.
b) Apple juice is a homogeneous solution, water is the solvent there are organic acids, sugars and
gums
c) Rain water is a homogeneous mixture, rainwater is nearly a distilled water. The mixture is not
cloudy and no separate particles are visible.
d) 14 karat gold in jewelry homogeneous mixture, in this case the gold is the solvent, as it is 14 parts
gold, and pure gold is 24 karat leaving the other 10 parts of other metals. Gold is the solvent and the
other metals are the solutes in this case.
43. which of the following substances is or are likely to be very soluble in water? Explain your
reasoning.
a) Gasoline (octane, C8H18) is not soluable, this is because gas is not polar.
b) Methanol (CH3OH) is the most soluable, it will make a solution with water. This is due to the OH
for H bonding, the polarity of the molecule and the size being the smallest alcohol.
c) Sodium carbonate (Na2CO3) is very highly soluble in water because of the CO3 2 , polarity, and
the high ionic character of the bond.
44. Write reactions to show the dissociation into ions of the following substances when they dissolve
in water:

Western Migration Essay
As said in our book the United States became a transcontinental nations between the years of 1845 and
1848, increasing the size of the Americas by 50 percent. How was this done? Through things like
annexation, negotiation and wars the U.S gained more than one million square miles. With the new
territory up to the Mississippi River claimed and settled and the Louisiana Purchase explored,
Americans everywhere headed west to explore this new land of opportunities. This Western migration
and settlement, coined manifest destiny in 1845 by a newspaper editor to describe the essence of this
mindset, played a major role in this rapid expansion of the United States in 1845 to 1848. During these
years of this extraordinary growth we would see farm ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Events such as annexation, negotiation and wars the U.S had gained us more than one million square

westward territory and our mentality of manifest destiny played a major role in this rapid expansion of
the United States in 1845 to 1848, it caused poor families to cross over a half continent to Oregon and
California in hopes of finding cheap, affordable land and better opportunities, the migration of the
Mormons to the Great Salt Lake in search of religious freedom and the Gold Rush to California which
drew emigrants from everywhere to take advantage of this new found land and westward expansion.

Wealth Argument Analysis
A middle class citizen sits in a courtroom while a wealthy citizen sits in a different courtroom. Same
charge, different outcome. The wealth gives the first class citizen a very unfair advantage within the
judicial system. First, he can hire lawyers that know how to find any and every loophole in the system
to get their client off with little to no charges. Even if the charge is as drastic as manslaughter. This
happens everyday all over the country as wealth bails people out of consequences.
Ethan Couch lived in Westlake, Texas a suburb of Fort Worth where average income was $194,666 in
2015. His parents are very wealthy and he receives everything he wants. Tonight he has been drinking,
smoking marijuana, and taking Valium. Ethan ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Celiac Disease Essay
The Pathophysiology of Celiac Disease Celiac disease (CD) is an autoimmune disorder involving both
innate and adaptive immune responses that occurs among genetically predisposed subjects who are
exposed to gluten containing foods (Green et al. 2015). People of all ages, genders, and races can
develop CD (Fasano and Catassi 2012). Individuals with CD may have gastrointestinal symptoms or
sometimes no signs of symptoms. The disease is characterized by severe immune mediated damage to
the small intestine, typically involving chronic diarrhea, weight loss, anemia, and malnutrition
(Gayathri and Rashmi 2014). Celiac disease like phenotypes can be traced back to the Greek physician
Aretaeus in the first and second century AD (Kupfer and Jabri 2012). Since then, improved
development of diagnostic testing provides more accurate data regarding the prevalence of CD,
although many people remain undiagnosed. Epidemiologic studies in the United States and European
countries consistently report a prevalence of 0.5% to 1.0% (Evans and Sanders 2012). CD is also
prevalent in developing countries, like North Africa and the Middle East (Fasano and Catassi 2012). A
significant public health concern remains, as it is estimated that 83% of Americans who have celiac
disease are undiagnosed or misdiagnosed with other conditions (Beyond 2016). The causal factors of
CD must be understood to determine the best diagnostic testing and treatment. The cause of CD is
thought to be due to genetic,

The Evacuation At Dunkirk Essay
Do you agree with this interpretation of Dunkirk? In this essay, I am going to explain a painting of
Dunkirk, which was painted by a British painter in 1940. The artist, who painted the picture, was
called Charles Cundall. He was sent by the British government to paint a picture about The
Evacuation at Dunkirk. His main aim for painting this picture was to make Germany look bad and
Britain look good. Therefore he had a reason to paint the picture as he was British himself. By looking
at the picture I predict that he would not have been sitting in the battle field whilst the war is going of
as we would have been exploded to pieces. He could have painted the picture from what he would
have remembered whilst this battle was going on. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The little ships in the picture are accurate as many on the ships would be fleeing from the shore into
open sea water. We can see many bombs in the picture being fired out at sea. This is an element of
reason that is needed to show the public that bombs were used by the Germans to try and stop the
British from escaping. Big boats are also seen fleeing alongside the small boats. We see the big boat
which is leaving the shore, of Dunkirk. There are many in accurate points about the sea. The big boats
are shown too close to the shore. This would be in accurate as when the big boats were to move they
would get stuck due to the sand of the shore. We can see the water at Dunkirk is very shallow, which
would mean that boats would have to be at least miles away from shore in order for them to move.
The artist Charles Cundall painted this on purpose to show British people, how the Germans stopped
boats from being fled out to sea. This again would be propaganda as it shows British public how bad
the Germans really are. The ships out at sea would at least have been sunk where as in the picture we
see only one small ship being sunk. In reality three or four ship would have been sunk as soldiers were
stopped from fleeing. The last part of the picture I am going to analyse is the sky. Again there are
some accurate and in accurate parts about the sky. Some

The Ethics Of A Civil Engineer
We first deal with the ethical implication of ASCE preparing the report card and the benefit, which
benefits the engineers. The implication of the ASCE should be about moral neutral group of people to
prepare to the report card. Civil engineers should have Presence and obligations to the public as they
should in any other places .so a person who can be swayed by political corruption and bribery, shouldn
t be involved with any activates, Now if ASCE prepare to the report card, the ratings given could be
changed to reflect the need of the economic situation. In case lower rating will be more jobs available
to workforce .If rating are higher few jobs will be needed for infrastructure development.
The primary concern of a civil engineer should always be the safety, health, and welfare of the public.
Working in any field should never compromise on moral principles at work. for example if a project
takes place in an area prone to natural disasters should not be used as an excuse to cut concerns when
it comes to safety. An engineer should make every effort to complete it to their client s full
satisfaction; an engineer should make every effort to complete it to their client s full satisfaction;
however they have to know where to draw the line when it comes to matters of safety. So engineers
should keep their obligations regardless of the cost, knowing the limits of their knowledge and
abilities, and determining what an adequate level of safety is. How might ASCE s role

The Learning Disability of Auditory Processing Disorder
Auditory Processing Disorder (APD), also known as central auditory processing disorder (CAPD), is a
neurological defect that affects how the brain processes spoken language. It affects about 5% of school
aged children making it difficult for the child to process verbal instructions or to cancel out
background noise in the classroom. A child who has Auditory Processing Disorder may have the same
kind of behavioral problems as a child who has ADD, and also might be confused with Autism,
Asperger s, Language processing disorder, and Dyslexia. For children who suffer from APD, the
understanding of meanings, sound combination, and the categorical order of words are mistaken.
Behaviors of children who suffer from Auditory Processing Disorder may have trouble listening,
following directions, distracted by background noises, poor organization of verbal material, oral and
written expression problems, remembering what they hear, and learning to read. If parents think that
their child may have APD, they should seek help to an Audiologist. An Audiologist is a doctor who
diagnose and treats hearing and balance problems. They are trained to diagnose, manage and treat
hearing or balance problems for individuals from birth through adulthood. The Audiologist will
perform several tests on the child to determine if the child may have APD or not. There are four types
of tests, Hearing, Neurologic, Behavioral, and Dichotic. The first test will be a simple hearing test to
cancel out any

Reflection Paper On Extroverts
Reflection: The topic of introverts should not be compelled into acting as if they are extroverts that
was presented by Susan Cain in her TED talk really connects to me because I personally identify
myself as an introvert. Similar to Susan Cain, I would describe myself as reserved, mellow and
comfortable with being alone. I enjoy being by myself and listening to music while getting deep into
the thoughts in my head. I don t really like getting small casual conversations with strangers and I get
emotionally drained with being in a large group of people. These are some of the things that my little
introverted self likes to do. But being quiet and not outgoing is not the most desirable thing to do, as
this is true for my family, friends and the society. Throughout my life, I have been forced into thinking
that if I don t get out there and approach people, be as outgoing as I possibly could, I will never be
successful in life and have others appreciate me. In a way, it seem like everyone and everything
around me is trying to force me to be something that I m not, which is being an extrovert. This is the
same for society as well. Society expects everyone, especially those who are introverted to be
gregarious and make a statement or act like an extrovert. Society makes it seem that if we don t be in a
certain way, in this case being like an extrovert, no one will get anywhere in their lives, or we can t
have it all . This concept is heavily used in companies and in the business world. When companies
look for potential employees, they tend to look for those who are outgoing and cordial because they
think that they will represent the company well. Often times these companies won t choose those who
seem introverted because they think that they are too soft spoken to represent them in a way that these
companies want them to. We often think that those who are outgoing and sociable are the ones who
make great leaders. But in fact, introverts are the ones that make better leaders because they are more
likely to have their fellow members to come up with their own ideas. Examples of great leaders in the
world who were introverts are Gandhi, Eleanor Roosevelt, and Rosa Parks. While extroverts may not
let others form

  • 2. Summary Of The Life Changing Magic Of Tidying Up By Marie... The popularity of Marie Kendo s book, The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up, shows people how to live in a proper life. Here, the author gives a definition to proper life. That is, a proper life should spark joy. Well, I think there are tremendous ways to sparking joy. For instance, make more money; get a valuable present and so on. Most people will give the definition of proper life as getting more just like the examples I give above. In the book, the author gives an opposite opinion. She tries to tell people that tidying up are not just a method of physical self help but also a method of mental self help. Getting more doesn t mean to get things that really spark joy to heart. The past decades witness a great growth in economy, which means people ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, people s joyfulness and the things they occupy do not witness correlation. Here is the data from Nelson. Only 20% people will feel happy during a week when they get a new bag. Then they will abandon them and seek for something new. Therefore, things become more and more. They clutter in your room and clutter in your mind. When we just want more, we just do not want to be left behind and we just want to have the same things as others. This situation mess up our life just as we are living in mist and cannot see the road we really want to take. After decades, people begin to recognize this problem: we could not get continuous joy just by getting more things. Therefore people begin to ask for the joy of mind. In today s world, a 4% percent growth in goodwill industry is witnessed, which is a good proof for people s choice of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. The Courtship Of Mr. Lyon By Angela Carter The Courtship of Mr. Lyon Angela Carter This short story involves almost an identical plot to the original Beauty and the Beast. The theme expressed throughout both is that beauty is what s on the inside, rather than what s on the outside, which is portrayed through the main character, Beauty. The author used the circumstances of Beauty s father to show that her sweetness and her gravity was transformed into a lacquer of the invincible prettiness that characterizes certain pampered, exquisite, expensive cats by his restored wealth (Carter 143). While the story involves elements of storytelling just by following the plot of the original tale, it s lacking emotion. The author of this short story allowed Beauty to chose whether she would ... This shopping center has a variety of other business establishments like a Raley s grocery store, Walmart, two coffee shops, pizza shop, and a Chinese restaurant to mention a few. As I walked I noticed there were customers, all Caucasians, sitting at four different tables that were all against the wall and the middle of the dining area was empty. The employees at the restaurant were mostly Caucasian with the exception of one Hispanic looking waitress and the part of the cooking staff. Shortly after, a white couple sat down a few bar stools away from me, but not very close. They sat there having a couple of margaritas engaged in deep conversation. Glancing back over to the dining area I noticed it was getting busier with more customers coming in. What I noticed first, was that everyone was gravitating to all the outer tables against the wall and front windows. Secondly, that I was the only Hispanic customer at that time. All customers were engaged in conversation, eating or watching the televisions. The employees were running around taking food orders and taking food out to customers. Most customers seemed to be in good spirts with the exception of one table. At this table there was an elderly woman with her daughter. The daughter was complaining that her mother received the wrong food and that it took too long for their order to come out. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Accuracy Of Evolution Through Upanishads Accuracy In Evolution Through Upanishads The Upanishads, dating from around 800 B.C., take us further in the advancement of Indo Aryan thought, and it is a major step. The Aryans have long been settled down and a firm, prosperous human advancement has grown up, a blend of the old and the new, commanded by Aryan thought and goals, however with a foundation of more primitive types of worship. The Vedas are alluded to with respect, additionally in a soul of delicate irony. The Vedic gods no more fulfil and the custom of the priests is ridiculed. There is no endeavour to cut from the past; the past is taken as a beginning stage for further advancement. The Upanishads are nature with a soul of enquiry, of mental experience, of an energy for figuring out reality about things. The quest for this truth is, obviously, not by the target techniques for present day science, yet there is a component of the experimental system in the methodology. No authoritative opinion is permitted to come in the way. There is much that is trifling and with no significance for us to day. The pressure is basically on self realisation, on knowledge of the individual self and and the universal self, both of which are said to be the same fundamentally. The target outside world is not viewed as unreal but real in a relative sense, a part of the internal reality. There are numerous ambiguities in the Upanishads and distinctive translations have been made. But that is a matter for the philosopher or ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Oscars is an award show that showcase the best people in front and behind the camera. Unfortunately there was barely any diversity in the nominations this year since most nominators were white, even though there was many diverse films that were considered Oscar worthy. With that being said, people protested that there needs to be more diversity in these categories and some actors agreeing by using the hashtag #OscarsSoWhite in social media. To make things worse, the Academy Awards members are majority older white males which brought to the attention from the protesters that in order to have diversity into the awards, the members itself needs to represent of all races so, it can be considered a fair choice. Which make sense to why throughout history of the Oscars there was always a discrepancy of diversity in the nominations since 1929 because only a very small percentage of minorities actors have received an award compared to the white actors that dominated the Oscars with a high percentage of winners. This created tension in Hollywood that the Oscars are marginalizing itself as a all white program and that there needs to be changes. • 13. Examples Of Non Equal In Harrison Bergeron Non Equal in Harrison Bergeron Imagine the United States in 2081, where everyone is equal by handicaps. Do you think handicaps can make a society equal? In the story Harrison Bergeron , it is 2081 and everyone is finally equal because of the handicapper general. These handicaps are able to prevent people from doing what they are good at so they can be average like others. I believe the society in Harrison Bergeron is not equal due to the fact that some people in the story still have advantages, even with handicaps. To begin, I think the society in Harrison Bergeron written by Kurt Vonnegut, is not equal because the character George has handicaps, which prevents him from having freedom like his wife, Hazel, has. According to the text, it says He was required by law to wear it at all times, and send out some sharp noise to keep people like George from taking unfair advantages. This is significant by the reason is that in twenty seconds, George was still able to think of how the ballerinas should not be handicapped when he has handicaps stopping him from thinking a few seconds later. As for Hazel, all she can think of was how the ballerinas dance beautifully. While others may believe that handicaps can control and maintain people to be equal, what they should think about is about the intelligence each person has. For example, George is above average and is able to have the advantage to think of many things.CONCLUSION ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 14. Essay on Sentimental Monarchy Monarchies have shifted to less political importance over the years in favor to parliament and a democratically elected prime minister. The film The Queen is a great example of the limited power of Queen Elizabeth II in present day and shows the ceremonial purposes of her role. The main reasons that this role shift has happened is because monarchs abused their unlimited power repeatedly. Oliver Cromwell was one man who did not like the way his King, Charles I, was controlling the country and decided to do something about it. What some find startling is that Charles I reign ended by being sentenced to death, and by being beheaded under the weight of an axe. So bad that it has led to the current state of a limited monarchy that is regarded more for historical preservation purposes and tourism. Monarchies would be fantastic if the royal family is perfect and ruled fairly for the good of its people, but the lavish lives that have been historically accompanied to royalty have created an almost religious type of support. After years of royalty leading the public, its disciples begin to follow blindly and without any control of the government or say in decisions being made. If the position of King or Queen was low key such as the current prime minister, or presidential positions there might not be so much opposition from the public. As the royal family is busy having 10 course meals in lavish clothing and living spaces, its people are often in the streets with little money for food or basic clothing. This is the most condescending aspect of the status of royalty who are accompanied by butlers and servants around the clock. How can they relate to its common people if they don t know what it s like to live in the real world and not some fantasy? • 15. The Buckley Lj On Employment Law The Buckley LJ comments set out in Montgomery v Johnson Underwood concerning employment relationship determinations involving mutual obligation and control concepts, underscore modern English employment law s evolutionary character. The employment law jurisprudence to which Montgomery v Johnson Underwood contributes is reviewed below. The critical evaluation advanced in the following sections confirms the now well entrenched mutuality test is a reasonable means by which this familiar but elusive question concerning employee versus independent contractor status is consistently resolved. No test devised to deal with highly circumstance driven legal issues will provide perfect solutions in every case the employment agency circumstances considered in Montgomery confirm this observation. The mutuality test delivers an appropriate level of essential predictability in this area. The broader Montgomery v Johnson Underwood context The three cornered dealings typically arising between a business enterprise, employment agency, and a client the agency places with the enterprise provide essential context to Buckley LJ s Montgomery observations. The Montgomery claimant was placed by the defendant agency with the agency s client company as a receptionist. After two years, the agency gave the claimant termination notice at the company s request. At all material times, the claimant took her day to day workplace direction from the company, not the agency. However, pursuant ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In order to let our data speak to us and help us to understand how the collaborative work is conducted between ITB and Royal Danish Library we have adopted grounded theory method as a main data analysis practice to work with. This decision involved summarizing cons and pros of using this approach. According to Glaser, Barney G Strauss (1967), using grounded theory involves development of theory rather by logical deduction then from experimental data itself. The publication of The Discovery of Grounded theory finds it relevant in practical applications and enable prediction and explanation of behavior. As our field setting is not often overflown with different actors we have decided to unlock behavioral patterns and get insight also on the profiles of employees. By this approach we have enriched our data, by being able to see connection between artifacts and articulation work, that draws an implication of artifacts in collaborative work. Moreover we have observed that each artifact might have different purpose of use as it is observed by different point of views from different subjects. The fact that we were able to actually observe appropriation in collaborative work, which can be described such as an assimilation of technology by group of people in completely different manner as designer firstly intended to, made us to logically distinguish between different ... • 19. The Border, The Imaginary And Unseen Border Essay To have a complete understanding of what a border is one must come to the other form of the border, the imaginary and unseen border. This abstract border separates people from one another without any real embodiment of the border itself. This particular border does not necessarily have concrete matter, which separates people like fences, gates, towers, and walls. Moreover, it does not have to be policed. Ergo, such border exists without any limitation of space and time. This abstract border does create the same effect as the concrete border, separating and labeling people, as them and us. Nonetheless, the abstract border affects people beyond labelling and separation. As the Xuncax siblings in El Norte succeeded in crossing the concrete U.S. Mexico border, they had to face the abstract border, the language border. Knowing nothing of English hinders them in coping with their new life in America. Language is the first border they have to pass in the new land. Because Enrique could not speak English, he is unable to find a job easily since he could not communicate with other people who might need his service. In the same boat, Rosa, being unable to comprehend her employer s explanation on how to use the washing machine, ends up washing all the clothes by hands and let them dry under the sun. In early September of this year the radical regime of North Korea conducted a Nuclear Weapons test, which broke regional stability and put the world on alert. North Korea continues to test intercontinental ballistic missiles and develop more dangerous nuclear warheads to eventually strategically strike South Korea and the United States. The test was later confirmed by many intelligence agencies as real and extremely powerful. With current policies failing to address the issue of North Korean Nuclear weapons program the international community should implement policies of coercive diplomacy, non government organization executed soft power or putting pressure on China to end the threat of a nuclear weapons attack. THE MAIN ISSUE North Korea said the test, which is the strongest for the country yet, was a nuclear warhead that has been standardized to be able to be mounted on a strategic ballistic rockets (BBC News 2016). The first position I ever learned to play was also the one that almost ended my softball career. Starting out in little league the pitcher is required to wear a batting helmet while playing the pitching position. This is for ages normally 5 and under, at this age the girls are still using pitching machines or coach pitch. As the older the girls get the rules change, no face mask or helmet has to be worn while pitching. As for me I hated wearing face mask, I always had an excuse to not wear it. When it came to softball most of the time are arguments were about when and when not I should have to wear a face mask. My main two positions are first base and pitcher. These two positions require fast reaction time as well does third base. This is because while the pitcher is in her wind up the first and third basemen are creeping closer towards the batter to be ready to field a bunt or a ground ball. This is not always the case though, sometimes when the batter is squared up to bunt we crash towards the batter as fast as we can and countless of the times they ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

On the other hand people who disagree with capital punishment believe that innocent people are often put to death, it doesn t fix the crime person committed, and it s a cruel punishment. The bonding within the water molecule and the interaction between the water molecules causes the molecules to organise themselves in a bent shape. Both a space model and electron dot diagram of a water molecule have been supplied in the appendix Image 1. Water has many unique properties, which has allowed life to exist: for example, if ice didn t have a lower density than water, the oceans would have frozen from the bottom up, killing all forms of life. Water is denser than ice because the molecules in ice are further from each other than they are in water. Another property of water is that it is a good solvent and is often called the universal solvent because of the number and variety of substances that dissolve in it, including inorganic salts like sodium chloride separate. This is because the cations are attracted to the negative end of the water molecule (the oxygen atom) while anions are attracted to the positive end of the water molecule (the hydrogen atoms). The separated ions are then surrounded by water molecules and are said to be hydrated ions. However, the presence of different solutes, such as sodium chloride, can change some of the properties of water. One thing solutes often do is decrease the freezing point and increase the boiling point. The emphasis on individualism and passionate expression of the self during the late 18th and early 19th century is also exemplified in the musical realm through the revolutionary work of one of the most highly influential musicians, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Through this statement, Socrates argument perfectly encapsulates the state that an unexamined society exists in one that values greatness over goodness. Though over two thousand years have passed since Socrates stated this before the Athenian court, it remains an accurate portrait of society; the majority of people amass material things, strive to become famous, and seemingly work only to gain wealth, all while hardly caring about knowledge, morals, or personal integrity. These skewing of values are the result of an unexamined life. People who never inspect what they hold valuable are swept up into society s race to riches and fame, instead of focusing on enriching themselves and others with wisdom and truth. People often ruin their lives as well as others in pursuit of their vices. Socrates knew that by examining oneself and what values are genuinely important, one not only safeguards himself against such downfalls, but they can also be led to the most valuable things of ... Pivotal Dichotomy The Pivotal Dichotomies of Science and Religion Science can help identify and elaborate upon the laws of nature, help humans ascertain an improved understanding of the universe, and enable people to acquire powerful thinking skills to generate innovative and beneficial ideas. However, in the recent centuries many scholars have addressed the numerous conflicts that have emerged between the fields of science and religion. Although certain similar factors can render science and religion compatible, many differences have caused a contentious divisiveness to permeate between the two fields. Many philosophers have contemplated and debated the relationship between science and religion. While both science and religion ask and answer questions, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Religion often concentrates its arguments on the actual creator or god of the universe. For instance, religions often assert that God is a being with intelligence, will, desires, and dislikes. Religions in turn have a propensity to focus on the desires of the creator, the codes of behavior that God expects humans to exhibit, rewards the creator bestows upon those who obey these requirements, and the punishments God inflicts upon transgressors who violate the requirements. Religion also emphasizes the specific manners by which God created the universe, as in Genesis, established by the Ancient Israelites and promoted by modern Christians. Rather than focusing on the actual creation or universe, religions tend to focus on the creator and the concepts of God that are expressed and maintained in the religious doctrine. In contrast, science tends to refrain from generating assertions regarding the creator and instead focuses entirely on the actual creation. Science primarily addresses many different aspects of the creation, including the beginnings of the universe, the matter and features of the world, how stars and galaxies formed, how planets were established, how our planet generates life, and how life functions and develops on Earth. Through this text, Plato is writing about philosophy is the setting of a narrative in order to reinforce the context of the story. Plato was a metaphilosophist that supported the theory of forms. He believed that understanding pure form, achieving true wisdom, is something that cannot be defined or reduced to words, and all people should strive to understand pure form. The main symbol in The Symposium, is wine, a representation of wisdom. Throughout the narrative, the characters drink at a constant place. As this is going on, the people at the symposium pass around watered down wine and drink in rounds all at the same pace. This drinking ritual is an example of sophrosunē, an Ancient Greek value that emphasized self restraint and conforming to societal expectations. The main concept that Plato bases his argument on is the theory of forms. According to the theory of forms, the physical world is created by the abstract ideas and concepts known as the metaphysical world. Plato believed that the physical world was not real and was simply an illusion for the metaphysical world. in The Symposium, there are six different levels to the theory of forms as defined by Diotima. Diotima defines the levels using the example of love, the topic of discussion at the symposium. The first two levels fall into the physical world and are the love of one body and the love of all bodies. The third, fourth, and fifth levels fall under the realm of the metaphysical world and are the love of minds, the love of customs and traditions, and love of forms of knowledge respectively. The highest level in the theory of forms is pure form which extends beyond the metaphysical world and cannot be defined. Auteur Theory Continues to be an Important Part of Filmmaking The auteur theory is an idea or principle, which states that the film is a reflection of a director s creative personal vision, as if to say the he or she is the primary author (which in French, means auteur ). This theory first came to be in 1954, by a French film director named Francois Truffaut. The auteur theory s birth was through the French New Wave, which was a group of new French filmmakers during the 1950 s and 1960 s. In the beginning, the theory received positive and negative responses. And to this day, it will create a heated debate. When we view these two films from an auteur theory point of view, we are able to capture Spike Lee s voice. One of the biggest traits you will witness in Spike Lee s films is the ability to zoom in on a character and talk to the viewer. In Do the Right Thing and Malcolm X, Spike Lee would focus on a particular character, as if to zone out everyone else within the film. In doing so, he was able to get his point across because the viewer had no choice but to take in what was being said and the image remained in the back of our minds. I know for a fact that more than 20 years later, the close up of those films are still present in mind. This was a unique, personal, and creative vision of Spike Lee. At the same time, Spike Lee had a way of focusing on specific areas or backgrounds within the film. A great example is a scene in Do the Right Thing, where Spike Lee, himself was walking down the sidewalk, delivering a pizza. The point of him delivering the pizza didn t really mean much. What stood out about the scene is when Spike Lee left the scene and the camera remained. Those seconds of footage displayed a sidewalk with an image, written by kids with chalk. Another great display of Spike Lee s vision is how he could change scenes in the middle of conversation. • 42. Uhigh Creek Water Quality The question being investigated is, what is the water quality of the UHigh creek based on invertebrates found in the water? The water quality is determined by the dissolved oxygen, the pH level, the nitrogen levels, and phosphorous level. The dissolved oxygen is the amount of oxygen molecules mixed in with the water molecules. If the dissolved oxygen level is low, then the water will become polluted. Dissolved oxygen range is 1 14 parts per million or milligrams per liter(Riverwatch). The aquatic organisms need these dissolved oxygen molecules to breathe and survive. Another factor for measuring water quality is the pH levels. This measures the acidity of different solutions in the water. A pH range of 6.5 8.5 is considered safe for aquatic life. People of all ages, genders, and races can develop CD (Fasano and Catassi 2012). Individuals with CD may have gastrointestinal symptoms or sometimes no signs of symptoms. The disease is characterized by severe immune mediated damage to the small intestine, typically involving chronic diarrhea, weight loss, anemia, and malnutrition (Gayathri and Rashmi 2014). Celiac disease like phenotypes can be traced back to the Greek physician Aretaeus in the first and second century AD (Kupfer and Jabri 2012). Since then, improved development of diagnostic testing provides more accurate data regarding the prevalence of CD, although many people remain undiagnosed. • 50. Reflection Paper On Extroverts Reflection: The topic of introverts should not be compelled into acting as if they are extroverts that was presented by Susan Cain in her TED talk really connects to me because I personally identify myself as an introvert. Similar to Susan Cain, I would describe myself as reserved, mellow and comfortable with being alone. I enjoy being by myself and listening to music while getting deep into the thoughts in my head. I don t really like getting small casual conversations with strangers and I get emotionally drained with being in a large group of people. These are some of the things that my little introverted self likes to do. But being quiet and not outgoing is not the most desirable thing to do, as this is true for my family, friends and the society. Throughout my life, I have been forced into thinking that if I don t get out there and approach people, be as outgoing as I possibly could, I will never be successful in life and have others appreciate me. In a way, it seem like everyone and everything around me is trying to force me to be something that I m not, which is being an extrovert. This is the same for society as well. Society expects everyone, especially those who are introverted to be gregarious and make a statement or act like an extrovert. Society makes it seem that if we don t be in a certain way, in this case being like an extrovert, no one will get anywhere in their lives, or we can t have it all . This concept is heavily used in companies and in the business world. When companies look for potential employees, they tend to look for those who are outgoing and cordial because they think that they will represent the company well. Often times these companies won t choose those who seem introverted because they think that they are too soft spoken to represent them in a way that these companies want them to. We often think that those who are outgoing and sociable are the ones who make great leaders. But in fact, introverts are the ones that make better leaders because they are more likely to have their fellow members to come up with their own ideas. Examples of great leaders in the world who were introverts are Gandhi, Eleanor Roosevelt, and Rosa Parks. While extroverts may not let others form ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
