Essay On Iyashikei Anime
In Japan, the industry of animation is one of the major electronic industries that represent modern
Japanese pop culture. Iyashikei Anime , in Japanese, 癒し系アニメ, is one of the terms that is created
from a Japanese Anime culture same as the word like Otaku, in Japanese, オタク, and Moe, in
Japanese, 萌え(日本アニメから見る癒し系文化――『夏目友人帳』を中心に, http://www.lag
8.com). In this essay, I will go to discuss about Iyashikei culture s embodiment in anime by using one
of the famous Iyashikei anime and manga, Natsume s Book of Friends . First of all, according to the
sources, Iyashikei , in Japanese, 癒し系, means healing Japanese, is a term used for anime and manga
created with the specific purpose of having a healing or soothing effect on the audience (Iyashikei, ...

It is formed by multiple elements, such as musical effect, story composition, character and other
things that I mentioned above that give the precious feeling of comfort and heart warming which some
people forgot in the current society. I feel that these kinds of genera will be more needed in the future
as the conflicts and disintegration are increasing by coldness. The global economic situation is
worsening, more and more people are suffering from losing jobs. There might be some negative
opinion that anime is not that effective to change the people s attitude towards the difficulty, however I
believe that the concept of Iyashi is truly needed to soothe and relax people s bundled feelings and

The Company Implemented Sap, And Enterprise Resource...
Background In 2012, the Company implemented SAP, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
program. The Global Company has five separate lines of business that were all running on different
accounting software solutions. The project included finance, sales and distribution, asset management,
purchasing, and master data. The 2012 project was intended to move the Company onto the SAP
platform, create efficiencies for the employees, and reduce costs for daily operations. Due to the
project timeline, there were many areas where scope was decreased in order to meet the deadline. The
decreased scope has left inefficiencies in vital operational areas where the Company, its employees,
and its systems are not operating or being used as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The systems updates would not be limited to SAP. The other systems involved are salesforce.com, the
legacy transaction billing system, the legacy customer statement portal, and a new add on system. The
primary areas of SAP impact are master data (customer, material, pricing), sales and distribution
(order and contract), and finance (revenue recognition). The impacted functional areas in the
Company are sales, accounting, customer care, system operations, and engineering.
Scope, Budget, Timeline and Resources The objective of the project is to deliver an improved solution
within the current environment. To include enhanced functionality for the business including a robust
revenue recognition module, enhanced contract features, and a well developed interface process
between Non SAP systems and SAP. Delivering an enhanced and integrated process to improve
accuracy and user experience between all systems. Allowing for the business to expand its business
within a controlled and accurate process (Datta, 2009). The project will kick off with a discovery
phase in which the scope, budget, timeline and resource needs will be outlined.
Scope is the blueprint of the implementation plan and in order to have a successful implementation,
the key is to know just how much to customize and just how much to keep within the workings of the
core SAP functionality (Gargeya Brady, 2005). The scope of

Persuasive Essay On Women In The Military
Did you know that women could be drafted to combat? I believe that women should all get the chance
to fight if they want to. There are tons of women that are in combat. They all join for different reasons,
some join just to see what it s like, and some join because they want to represent their country. During
the Civil War more than 400 women went into the army disguising themselves as men, just do that
they could fight in the war. If women can dress up as men and go to war and fight for our country then
i feel like we should give them the right to do it. In 2011 there was about 203,000 women in the
United States Military. Some people think that women aren t capable of doing it, or that she won t be
able to do it. Women going into the combat know that it is not an easy thing and are up to the
challenge. But to me I think that if she thinks she can do it and is up for the challenge that we should
believe that she can doing it to. In 1948 President Truman helped make a separate military service for
women. If a women can show that she is capable in a boot camp then why shouldn t she be able to
fight for our country.
For women to be in the Military it might be tougher meaning guys naturally have more muscle, but if
a women had their mindset on doing it, no one should tell her that is isn t allowed to because she isn t
a guy. Today women have so much more freedom than what they used to have. Many people think that
women won t be aggressive during the war and that s why they should not be able to be a part of
something as great as it. I think that women will be aggressive when it comes to the real fight because
they know that if they don t they could most likely be killed. Going into the military women know that
they have a chance of not coming out. Solveig Krey was the first woman commander of a Norwegian
submarine in 1995. For years women have been filling in combat roles. After being in the war and
killing another human being those images stay in your head, or well for Leigh Ann Hester, she still
thinks about it every single day. March of 2005 Hester s Kentucky National Guard Military Police

Laxatives 2.2 List conditions for which each type of medication may be prescribed? Painkillers:
Painkillers are medicines that are used to treat pain. There are a large number of painkillers available

capsules, by injection, or via the rectum (back passage) for example, suppositories. Some painkillers

APA Code Of Ethics
Ethics
Ethics are norms of conduct. In terms of research, ethics are a set of rules that tell researchers what
they should and shouldn t do. They exist because researchers might not be objective on whether a
study might harm participants, among other things (McBride, 2010). Nuremberg Code
When the second world war ended, the Nuremberg Code was developed. This code, which was
created after the horrible experiments done by Nazis came to light, stated that researchers had to
follow ten rules (Schuler, 1982).
1. Voluntary consent for participation in an experiment is required.
2. The research should yield fruitful results for the good of society.
3. The results should justify the methods of the study.
4. Researchers must avoid causing unnecessary ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As mentioned before, researcher have to accurately report results. In addition, the concept of
plagiarism is a critical factor in psychological research. Everything has to be given proper citation,
from quotes to tables used.
Violating the ethical guidelines
Not adhering to the guidelines can have serious consequences. For example, Woo Suk Hwang falsely
stated that he had been able to clone human stem cells (Bhattacharya, 2006). He now faces criminal
charges in South Korea and has permantly damaged his career (McBride, 2010).

The Power Of Fear In Dante s Inferno
The power of fear is has very little limits, (Shorto). The great writer, Dante, was aware of this singular
fact, and used it to fuel his famous text The Inferno. As Dante constructs his masterpiece his creative
mind is let loose on a rampage of pain. He forges a variety of punishments for the souls damned to
Hell. Each consequence follows a sin made by the common people, and as these common people read
about what could become of them they experience fear. In The Inferno written by Dante, the text
contains several vivid punishments that strike fear in the hearts of its readers, and motivates them
against sin. The second Canto contains one of the first cruel punishments that advises against giving
into the desires of the heart, and it encourages readers not to sin in such a way. Dante and Virgil
stumble upon a scene where sinners who abandoned themselves to their temptations, (Canto 2, line
53), swirl around in the tempest of Hell. Dante soon spots the well known Paolo and Francesca and
calls to them wishing to hear their story. The two tell a story of abandoning reason to fulfil their
appetites, and how they must not spend eternity in the grasp of the other as punishment. Upon hearing
this tale, Dante is stricken with compassion and weeps for them. Any reader of this section may also
feel pity for the couple, but it is also a feeling of fear that begins to take hold. A fear of committing the
same sin and Paolo and Francesca and receiving their punishment creeps into

Jessica Jones Analysis
The new Netflix series Jessica Jones, which becomes available on November 20, is a marvel legally (it
s produced by Marvel), creatively and, it must be said, surprisingly.
Having built an empire on which the marketing sun never sets, Marvel should now be facing audience
fatigue how many stories of superheroes can this world bear?
It s a question the screenwriter and producer Melissa Rosenberg clearly asked herself before
attempting to adapt the lead character of Alias, a comic book series written in 2001. In answer, she,
with help from her perfectly cast star Krysten Ritter, rewrote the definition of superhuman.
As a teenager, Jessica was exposed to radioactive chemicals in a car crash that killed her family and

Summary Of The Trouble With Wilderness By William Cronon
In his essay, The Trouble with Wilderness, William Cronon discusses the importance of preserving
wilderness. Nature has been deteriorating since the introduction of the human species, and Cronon
attributes this issue to the destructive nature of humans. The essay begins with his thesis the time has
come to rethink wilderness (Cronon 1). He challenges the reader to find the difference between
wilderness and wildness. Cronon s biggest fear is violating the holiness of nature.
Humanity s culture is based off the desire to have a unity with wilderness. Cronon states to the extent
that we live in an urban industrial civilization but at the same time pretend to ourselves that our real
home is in the wilderness, to just that extent we give ourselves

The House of the Spirits and Kiss of the Spiderwoman Essay
It is, at times, stated that paradoxes allow for misinterpretation in almost every aspect of life.
Wherever those paradoxes appear, conflicts, both external and internal, arise and misunderstandings
ensue. In the two novels The House of the Spirits by Isabel Allende and Kiss of the Spiderwoman by
Manuel Puig, however, the characters Alba and Molina, respectively, create paradoxes through their
subversive actions. These paradoxes create conflicts in self interest, which, in turn, reveal the
impossibility of actually knowing or understanding one s true motives.
In Allende s The House of the Spirits, the character Alba displays subversive tendencies around her
progression into adulthood. For example, Alba ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The paradox in this instance appears in the idea that one cannot tell if Alba values her sanity more than
her life, or vice versa. Also, one cannot fathom what Alba truly wants to accomplish through her
makeshift memoirs. Even though one can argue that Alba records these events because Clara told her
that it was necessary for survival, one could also argue that Alba is doing so in order to show her
devotion to Miguel and his cause. By disobeying the warden, Alba displays rebellious tendencies.
Also, one could argue that Alba does this in order to take her mind off of Miguel, as some of the other
inmates tell Alba to don t think about Miguel .
Though he is, in most aspects, the exact opposite of Alba, the character Molina from Puig s Kiss of the
Spiderwoman also exhibits subversive behaviors. And with these actions, their respective paradoxes
also appear to create the aforementioned conflicts in interest. For example, there is one instance in
which Molina states that, for him, acting like a man in a relationship is not for me, thus stating that he
enjoys being submissive in a relationship instead of being the aggressor. However, Molina takes the
initiative when agreeing to support Valentin s guerilla motives, not submitting to Valentin, but
standing on an equal level with him. The fact that Molina is not submissive in regards to Valentin
allows one to question whether Molina is pretending to be submissive in order to gain Valentin s pity
and or trust, or rather

Conga Drum In American Culture
Drums have always had a significant role in culture. The drum serves as the pulse of many nations and
peoples and has historically had a dominant role in many of the rituals and ceremonies of the African,
Latin American, and American Indian cultures. In Africa the drum is considered a sacred tool in
ceremonies and rituals that are a part of the culture. Africa is a large continent, and drums and their
use is different from country to country as the continent is large. In West Africa, the drum can be used
for communicative purposes to call meetings or to announce the death of someone important. This
communication is made with a talking drum. The talking drum is hourglass shaped and its pitch can
mimic the tone of human speech by squeezing the cords of the two drumheads between the arms and
body. It can also be used to send signals. Traditional African religious activities such as communal
prayers, rain making, healing ceremonies, and rituals associated with purging evil in society are made
complete by drumming. (Kiarie 2) The Conga drum, is used in traditional religious ceremonies in the
Conga region. The Conga drum is a single head drum made from stretching a goat skin over a hollow
log. Drums can be found at most African family events including weddings, funerals, marriages, and
birth celebrations.

Vince Lombardi, the iconic coach of the Green Bay Packers, is widely regarded as one of the greatest
football leaders of all time. While his winning record may be attributed to many factors, most credit
him with the ability to motivate an entire group of individual players to accomplish remarkable
achievements when united as a team. Coach Lombardi insisted that, Individual commitment to a group

Ideally, the celebrations of hard fought victories will outnumber the agonizing losses in large
quantities. However, the lessons learned from devastating defeats are often the most important tool in
the quest for success. As Bobby Jones suggested, losses, by their very nature, offer the most
compelling evidence that modifications and improvements are warranted. In other words, a loss
encourages the athlete to channel the disappointment into a positive progression of steps, thus
instigating a more favorable outcome in the future. The fact is that in both life and sports, defeat is
inevitable, and the skill to use the lessons learned in a loss to initiate the groundwork for future

Analysis Of A Hawk From A Handsaw
Angus, Bill. A Hawk from a Handsaw : A New Contextualization. Notes Queries, vol. 56, no. 1, Mar.
2009, p. 60. EBSCOhost.
The author of the article discusses how Shakespeare is making a connection between the actors and
informers. The author suggests that this connection was not accidental because it is used to connect
debates between authority and corruption. It is focusing on Hamlet s first encounter with Rosencrantz
and Guildenstern and the phrase hawk from a handsaw from the play. Imagery of predatory birds is
used to describe the informers. This article s audience would probably be people who are familiar with
the play. I found this article useful because it was a very detailed textual criticism. It also provides
evidence for the argument that handsaw is a corrupted form of the word heronshaw, or young heron.
There are many explanations about how the use of birds of prey in Shakespeare s play Hamlet
expresses Hamlet s recklessness. The author pulls many different interpretations into his argument
from various scholars.

Aurora Borealis And The Northern Light
In the 18th century, a new form of art, called Romanticism developed in Europe, and reached its peak
in the 19th century. One of the significant artists of the Romanticism art period was Frederick Edwin
Church, a painter from New York, who portrayed landscapes. One of his remarkable works is his oil,
canvas piece, Aurora Borealis, in which he portrays the Northern Lights. Aurora Borealis is an oil,
canvas inspired by Dr. Isaac Hayes, Church s friend, who went on an arctic expedition in 1860 and
gave his sketches and notes of the landscape view to Church. The expedition ship and sled portrayed

Spoon River Anthology Summary
In Edgar Lee Masters Spoon River Anthology, Margaret Fuller Slack is an aspiring writer, whose
notions of future greatness are foiled by, on a surface level, her marriage, and children. As a result,
Margaret is bitter, resentful, and accusatory. In actuality, Margaret and her notion of personal privilege
destroy her future. Masters poem is a cautionary tale regarding entitlement and laziness, an
acknowledgment of the necessity of personal responsibility, and an example of a wasted life. Masters
opens this poem with Margaret discussing her fantasies, her delusions. Margaret compares her own
greatness to George Eliot, famed female novelist. This allusion that Margaret wanted to be a writer,
and that she believes she had talent, had ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Margaret was wooed and John was luring her into the relationship, into the trap (8, 9). The
connotation of these words creates an air of trickery around John, developing the emphasis that even
though Margaret could have said no, her failure is now his fault. She discloses that the way he lured
her was through the promise of leisure for [her] novel (9). The couple gets married and they have eight
kids. This allows the reader to see that John had genuine intentions, but Margaret s bitterness
interrupts this. Even though it takes two people to make a family, Margaret blames something she
should be thankful for, but resents, on her husband. Her facade further crumples when she addresses
the fact that she did not have time to write, but many people who have and care for children are able to
make something out of themselves. Essentially Margaret is playing victim to things she is not a victim
of. The only factor standing in Margaret s way is her own ego. She might think she is too good, that
her talent supersedes practice and experience, or she might just be lazy, but in the end, it is she who
chooses not to write. If one has a genuine goal, regardless of inconveniences, time and effort will
always be applied; ergo, Margaret does not have a goal, only an illusion. Consequently, Margaret s
world unravels with her death. Margaret is tremendously nonchalant about her demise: It was all
over... anyway (12). This word choice continues to reveal how

Saturated Fat And Unsaturated Fats
1. A transverse plane is any horizontal plane that divides the body into superior and inferior sections.
To give an ultrasound on a woman carrying a child, the child is being carried in the front of the
abdomen. The correct plane used is the frontal plane. The frontal plane divides the body into ventral
and dorsal sections. 2. Negative feedback is a feedback that causes a stimulus to end. The stimulus in
this case is the itch. When you sense the itch, your body reacts to scratching it. When you scratch the
itch, the itch is revealed, therefore ending the stimulus and making scratching an itch negative
feedback. 3. Although both fats are in many foods, most unsaturated fats are more beneficial to your
heart, whereas many saturated fats can cause damage to your cholesterol and your heart. Some
examples of saturated fats are meats, dairy and pastries. Saturated fats contain hydrogen atoms and
have fatty acid chains with single covalent bonds between carbon atoms. At room temperature,
saturated fats are solid. Unsaturated fats are nuts, olives, and avocados. Unsaturated fats have fatty
acid chains that contain one or more double bonds between carbon atoms. At room temperature,
unsaturated fats are liquid. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

According to the text book, terrorism is defined as a systematic attempt to inspire fear to gain political
ends, typically involving the indiscriminate use of violence against noncombatants. Terrorist attacks is
definately not new to the U.S. In 2001, al Qaeda lauched an attack on New York s World Trade Center.
The attack killed thousands of Americans, and put the country in a state of panic and scare. One
reason for this attack was that Islamics were angered that the U.S had troops on the soil of Saudi
Arabia, which was regarded as sacred. Groups such as al Qaeda are extremely violent, and will not be
negotiated with for peace. Recently, we have had several terrorist attacks including the Boston
Marathon bombing, Muslim shooting at Fort Hood, and ISIS attacks on soldiers and journalists.
Recently, attacks from domestic islamists are a major concern for the U.S. These individuals are self
radicalized through beliefs and the internet, rather than being a part of a group. Farook and Malik, of
the San Bernardino attacks, are examples of this. In my opinion, terrorism is a huge concern for all of
the people of our country. I think the United States needs to have better background checks and
investigations on immigrants before letting them into our country, and we need to have better online
and phone security from the government so they can weed out threatening individuals that are already
in the U.S. Without more security, organizations like ISIS or self radicals may extremely harm our

Analysis Of The Book Backstory With Devin
Other narrative devices that I used in my script are backstory with Devin, in which Elroy reminds him
of what his life has become. I used foreshadowing in dialogue referencing hell at different points
referring to the ending which is meant to be the beginning of the end of times and hell on earth. I used
some what of a cliffhanger at the end as it is implied what is going to happen in which Marcellus and
the three humanoid creatures are heading towards the town hall to kill everyone, but we don t really
see it leaving it up to the viewer s imagination. I also used plot twists, especially in the climax as
unexpectedly Devin kills himself, and the Priestess then possesses his body. I would say the use of
these narrative devices in my script are quite effective because although I only used a few devices in
the plot, I feel that if I had put a lot of different narrative devices, my plot wouldn t be the same or
have the same impact as it does now. I don t think I could have told my story differently in that it s an
idea I ve kept to myself for the last couple years and this is the first platform for me to show this idea
that has resonated with me. I do believe though that I could of told my story more effectively in that
some the actions are a bit short in which I think some cases might move the plot faster than it should. I
would say that my script without a doubt is a horror script. There are many conventions from horror
films that are used in my script, but not enough to make

Margaret Atwood Sirens
The Myth of the Sirens Sirens have always been a key point in mythology. In Greek mythology sirens
were a creature half bird and half woman who lured sailors to destruction by the sweetness of her song
(Britannica). Once a man heard their beautiful song it would drive them insane, leading them into
jumping overboard. John William Waterhouse, in his panting Ulysses and the Sirens, he shows you
how the sirens were believed to truly look to the Greeks and how the hideous creatures would come
swooping down and go after the men. Meanwhile in her poem Siren Song , Margaret Atwood, shows
how the sirens would cunningly trick the men with their beautiful singing voice. The poem Siren Song
by Margaret Atwood shows how the sirens would use their cunning ability to trick the men into
coming with them. By analyzing the poem, you could come across the connection that the author is
trying to compare the to tricksters. The sirens draw you in by saying I will tell the secret to you, to
you, only to you (Lines 19 20). This peaks the inner curiosity of man. The tone of the poem could be
described as manipulative, since the sirens main goal is to manipulate you into following them. An
example of their manipulation is Only you, only you can, you are unique (Lines ... Show more content

Lubrication Theory For Journal Bearing
John Rogers Dr. Sawicki Flows in a Journal Bearing 17 June 2016 I. LUBRICATION THEORY
Lubrication is the use of viscous fluids to reduce friction and damage between solid surfaces. In
hydrodynamic lubrication, a shaft rotating in a bearing is supported by a layer or wedge of oil so the
shaft is not in contact with bearing material. The surfaces are in sliding motion relative to each other.
Lubrication theory for journal bearings describes the flow of fluids in which the fluid film lubricant
thickness is far smaller than the dimensions of the bearing. A major focus in lubrication theory is to
determine the pressure distribution in the fluid volume. In this way, the forces of the shaft being
supported by the lubricant can be measured. A purpose of analyzing crankshaft bearings is to diminish
friction and wear due to small film thicknesses [1]. The minimum film thickness of a journal bearing
should be greater than the average asperity height (unevenness, roughness) of the journal bearing
surface to prevent any surface contact, and consequently, avoid friction and wear. For journal bearing
design, the minimum safe value for film thickness is 2.5 microns [2]. Values lower than this can create
too low of supporting oil pressure and damage the journal bearing. Bearings in reciprocating
machinery operate with dynamic loads creating large journal orbits within the bearing clearance,
which is the distance between the radius of the bearing and the radius of the journal

How Leadership Styles Affect Productivity By E. Brown There are 4 primary leadership styles, many
of which you can find within most businesses or organizations around the world. These styles are:
Dictatorial, Authoritative, Consultative, and Participative. Each of the leadership styles have impact
on reforming and/or creating company culture. There are short and long term affects of each style. For
instance, the authoritative style may produce great results in a short amount of time. However,
excessive use of authority will decrease productivity in the long term. People either get fed up and
leave or fall into a malaise of hum drum repetitive tasks without creativity and innovation. All the
while, a participative style will be unproductive ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You dont have any control over outside influences. You are going to face the implementation of an
unpopular change in the norm. Somebody is going to dictate a new policy or procedure. While you
cant control the outside influence you can control your units interpretation of it. Minor changes are
fairly simply. Introduce the new policy or procedure, provide your employees with as much
background on why the change is necessary, train them and then follow up with praise or sanction.
Larger or dramatic changes are more difficult. As with smaller changes to the norm, you must first
seek clarity. Find out as much as you can why the change is necessary. Make sure you know as much
as possible. I am always honest with my people. When I dont like something or think a change is
going to be difficult I admit it. As a follower, I have sat through too many gratuitous roll calls where
the sergeant or lieutenant is giving us happy talk. I recommend you say something like, I dont like this
anymore than you do. But, this is how we are going to do it. This admission is actually an emphasis of
the norm of obedience to orders and the value of you place on it. After you have made this admission,
adopt the new norm and place the appropriate value on it. Dont undermine yourself or your
organization by rolling your eyes or somehow expressing that you dont believe the new change should
be implemented. As with the minor change,

Arguments Against Government Censorship
Government censorship is a huge issue, particularly when it comes to media messages. There is a fine
line that must be walked when deciding what should be censored. However, it boils down, in my
opinion, to one major consideration; is what is being made public going to harm or endanger anyone?
If the answer to that is no then I don t think that the government should censor it. However, I do think
that we have seen examples, recently right here in Tuscaloosa where some kind of government
censorship should have been exercised.
January 10th, the morning after the National Championship a man jumped out of some bushes and
held a gun to a bank tellers head and then proceeded to take the employees inside hostage. The media

In 1644 John Milton published a prose titled Areopagitica which opposed censorship. While he was
not fighting for freedom of press he was fighting more for the freedom of the printing press. At the
time anything written had to be approved by Parliament before it could be published, he was against
that censorship and stated that not knowing was more dangerous than knowing. Milton s work which
pre dated the issue of the freedom of the press quite a bit laid the groundwork for opposing censorship.
I believe he had a point, when you allow too much censorship you essentially put all the power in one
group of people s hands, the ones deciding what to censor. On the other hand, when you ban
censorship then a system of checks and balances exists. For example, the new President, Donald
Trump has been discussing censoring specific federal agency websites, specifically the EPA s website
on climate change. That sort of censorship is bad. But because of where we live and the fact that we
are unaccustomed to censorship everyone began calling him out on it and, for now at least, the website
is staying

Theme Of Women In The Things They Carried
In Tim O Brien s narrative, The Things They Carried, characters are shown going through
excruciatingly difficult war struggles. There are many intriguing themes that O Brien is sharing in the
text, but the most striking is the differences between the way each person handles war. People in the
story cope by imagining things for motivation and pleasure. Imagination can help soldiers, but also
does not help in war when the coping distracts one from important situations. The most common
coping mechanism in the war stories has to do with women because they were used as security
blankets during war. Soldiers use women, imagined and real, to offer an escape from war, but due to
their inability to understand the war, the women cannot help them cope.
Imagining women does not help soldiers cope in war when reality is propped up next to it. In the short
story, The Things They Carried , Lieutenant Jimmy Cross loved a girl named Martha so much that she
took away his focus on the war. Tim O Brien sets the scene by stating, First Lieutenant Jimmy Cross
carried letters from a girl named Martha...They were not love letters, but Lieutenant Cross was hoping
(O Brien 1). Cross carried letters from Martha with him to help him escape from the war. The author
purposefully uses the word hope to portray to the reader that Martha did not love him, and that he
knew that was true. The word brings lots of context to the quote because it is explaining how hoping
helped him cope during the war. It

Bosque Redondo Assassination
Following his arrival to the American Southwest in 1862, Brigadier General James Henry Carleton of
the Union Army would oversee the process of destroying Native American powers throughout the
Territory until his reassignment in 1867. The Navajo s or Diné , in their language, were one such
power that Carleton set about destroying. The process of destruction took many forms as the tribes
faced both physical and cultural assaults from the American military, while the New Mexican citizens,
and rival tribes of Native Americans engaged in raids, attacks, and taking captives from the Navajos.

Bosque Redondo and Fort Sumner were located together where there had been a grove of cottonwood

violence. Furthermore, he made various attempts to have it explained to the Navajos that Bosque

wished it explained that those Navajos who claimed not to be guilty of murder and robbery, that for
their own preservation and as a means of validating their innocence, must come to Bosque Redondo as
a means of separating themselves from the guilty parties. Carleton explained to his subordinates that
they had no power to negotiate surrender with the Navajos, and that they must explain the conditions
by which surrender could be accepted, stating that if approached by Navajos seeking peace it should

Dsm-5 Classification
One major change in the category of the substance related disorders is that DSM 5 uses an overarching
concept substance use disorder rather than two distinguished concepts in DSM IV, which are
substance abuse and substance dependence. As the diagnostic categorization changed, two sets of
criteria 4 aspects for abuse and 7 aspects for dependence are replaced with a single set of criteria 11
aspects for substance use disorder with 3 levels of severity (mild: 2 3, moderate: 4 5, or severe: 6 or
more) sub classification. The contents of criteria are almost same, however, a criterion of legal
problem is omitted and a new criterion that asks craving to use the specific substance is added.
Another change is that DSM 5 classifies 10 classes of substances in addition to 1 addictive disorder
whereas DSM IV TR recognizes 13 classes of substances. For example, DSM 5 puts together
Amphetamine Related and Cocaine Related Disorders into Stimulant Related Disorders with sub
categories (Amphetamine type, Cocaine, or other stimulants). On the other hand, for almost all
substance induced disorders, the same criteria of intoxication and withdrawal are used in both DSM 5
and DSM IV TR (e.g. Alcohol intoxication, and alcohol withdrawal). Recording Procedure. ... Show

of vinyl is a more affordable option compared to inlaid vinyl but it is less durable. The patterns of
inlaid vinyl floors are pass through a process that put tiny vinyl granules on the backing, forcing them

applied throughout the entire thickness of the flooring. Vinyl is available in a few different styles,
including sheet vinyl, solid vinyl tiles, and luxury vinyl tiles. Sheet vinyl generally comes in 6 or 12

With the growth of online retailing, the demand for Aramex services has also increased significantly.
Here we can see the economic concept of demand for complements. Complements are basically goods
which are jointly used to satisfy wants. They have negative cross elasticity which means that a change
in demand for one good causes a similar change in demand of the complement good. In this article it
can be seen that online retailing and the services provided by Aramex are complements. The increase
in demand for online retailing has led to an increased demand for Aramex services thus leading to
increased profit growth reported by Aramex. The graphs above also depicts the same showing a
rightward shift in the demand curve of both online retailing and Aramex services. The growth in
online retailing has not only led to growth in Aramex, it has also led to overall growth in the economy.
This is because it prompts people to buy more goods as online retailing is an easy and convenient way
of shopping. The IMF predicts GDP in the UAE to grow by 4.4 per cent this year, while in Qatar

The Current Issues Involving Wind Farms and Wildlife
Introduction and Background: Wind energy has been one of the greatest developments in the field of
renewable energy in the last several years. Wind farms, based off of energy production facts, are
pivotal in our society, to the continued push to reduce fossil fuel usage and greenhouse gas emissions.
To the untrained eye, they seem as though they are too good to be true; a cheaper form of energy that

perfect, right? However, there has been growing tension between the wind energy industry and
environmental groups as the Obama administration continues pushing for more renewable energy

Reported again by the Wilson journal of Ornithology, the amount of deaths to birds caused by factors
other than wind turbines are as follows: flying into power lines (an estimated death count of 175
million per year, while electrocuting an estimated tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands more),
poisoning by misapplied pesticides (which causes an estimated 72 million deaths), hitting
communication towers (causes nearly 6.6 million deaths), and lastly as many as one million birds die
in oil and gas industry fluid waste pits every year (Negin). With the toll of birds dying from impacts
with wind turbines, one would think there would protection policies in place to lessen the upward

Japanese Internment Camps Essay
A day that will live in infamy or more widely known as Pearl Harbor occurred on December 7th,
1941. The Japanese had attacked the American military base at Pearl Harbor, which is near Oahu. The
Japanese managed to destroy nearly 20 American naval vessels, including eight enormous battleships,
and more than 300 airplanes. More than 2,000 Americans soldiers and sailors died in the attack, and
another 1,000 were wounded. This caused the US to enter WWII, as well as caused a fear on the West
coast of the US because of the dense population of Japanese Americans that are found there. The
status regarding Japanese Americans was changed rapidly after this event and they were thought to
want to cause harm to the US because we declared war against the axis powers, which included Japan
for revenge for Pearl Harbor. Approximately 2 months after Pearl Harbor was bombed, Roosevelt
signed Executive Order 9066, which caused the relocation of these Japanese Americans into

Stanislavski s goals were to make the performances on stage look more natural and more realistic.
This was done through a series of techniques called the the Method ( Constantin Stanislavski ). Some
of these techniques were channeling emotional memory, other were more about the given
circumstance of the character s situation at hand. These techniques were watched and analyzed by
psychiatrists to see how the actors would react. Some techniques such as the emotional ... Show more

Stanislavski been developed and adapted by actors since their inception? . As the Method travelled to
the United States, it travelled at the time Stanislavski was still adapting his methods, and still writing
his books, therefore the full research on the Method had not yet been done. Which lead many

Higher Level Classes
Kiara Courtney
Ms. Stevens
Period 4
December 12, 2016
Greater Education Colleges are looking for students who push themselves, who are interested and
excited about learning. Honors courses are an indicator of intellectual drive and curiosity. ( Mark
Montgomery). Knowing this, wouldn t all principals and teachers want honors or advanced courses in
their school? Unfortunately, not all schools have them and some even are eliminating these courses. It
may help the core students but there just leaving the higher level students brains for mind numbing
dullness. Separate higher level classes should be available for every student if needed because it
challenges students, improves the behavior of the higher level student, and prepares the students ...

Classes such as AP, honors, and advanced are usually based on preparing you for college, getting you
to college and getting you through college. Katy Hopkins says, Kids [who take AP courses] usually
are able to think outside the box; they re better prepared; they have stronger study skills; and the bar is
held up for them at a level where they reach that bar themselves. They already know, This is what my
teacher is going to expect of me or this is what I expect of myself, As you can you tell, kids who take
specifically AP classes, or generally higher level classes, are prepared with many great skills that are
useful in college or even getting through college. Higher level courses may even help students beyond
college and into the work world. High school students must prepare for college if they hope to have a
middle class income...The best standard for preparation for college is a good working knowledge of
the subject matter earned in challenging courses during high school. For further definition, one of the
tools recommended for college preparation is the Advanced Placement Program, administered by the
nonprofit College Board, which also administers the Scholastic Aptitude Test. (reviewjournal.com).
Apparently, Ap courses can be life changing. These courses can help students through high school,
college, and the rest of their lives. Ap classes can even have the same amount of work as an actual
college student. The bottom line is that college is probably the same amount of work as a high school
schedule full of AP classes. (scholarships.com) All in all Ap and higher level classes are to help to not
break you. The classes prepare you not only for college but for life. If these classes are this important
wouldn t it be offered for every student? Ap and honors classes should be offered to everyone because

Aerobic Dancing and Weight Control Essay
Flat stomachs, tone arms, nice, firm buttocks, and nice shapely legs. This sounds like a familiar dream
for many women in the world. Most do not think it is possible for them to achieve, but clearly all it
takes is time.
Aerobics dancing is one of the most effective aids in weight control, with the added benefits of
improved self esteem and confidence. Many people cannot enjoy life due to their weight and other
problems brought on by being overweight. Those who are overweight cannot mentally handle the
thought of going out and being seen. That is why solutions for keeping weight within an appropriate
range for height, sex, and age are essential.
One of the most effective ways of reaching appropriate weight level is through aerobic ... Show more

Although there may be a sense of fatigue, dancers feel better about themselves. That is the feeling one
gets when one thinks to himself I feel like I have lost at least ten pounds. In addition, that feeling is
what helps to maintain mental health.
Exercise can and will change personal outlook, personal perceptions and this in turn affects other areas
of life. Stress causes people to get agitated easily and to always be tense. Dance aerobics has been
shown to help relieve stress and allow anyone to feel more relaxed. Following a regular aerobics
program gives you a sense of commitment and control two positive mental attitudes that help
counteract stress. Aerobics also relax tense muscles, thereby completing (and relieving) your body s
stress response. Finally, medical research has shown that regular aerobic activity increases the body s
production of endorphins (a natural sedative) and catecholamines (chemical substances that help
stabilize moods). (Aerobics for Health) Many times people are stressed about their weight, and this
may cause depression. As Missett has stated in her book, The Jazzercise Workout Book, Exercise has
been proven more effective than antidepressants. (21) She goes on to point out, Stress can cause
people to eat more than they should, causing more stress because they have realized how much more
they have gained. (19) She goes on to assert that many stress related problems have occurred to many
people due to lack of

Cherokee Phoenix Essay
Cherokee Phoenix In the early nineteenth century during the presidency of Andrew Jackson and the
debate of the Indian Removal Bill came one of the most important accomplishments of the Cherokee
Nation, their own newspaper written in their own language. This experiment in Indian journalism
began on February 21, 1828 in the Cherokee capital of New Echota. The paper employed a minimum
staff of three to four people throughout its duration, often dismissing and rehiring printers. However,
the most noteworthy of these were the people who first employed by the paper: journeyman printer
John F. Wheeler, printer Isaac Harris, and editor Elias Boudinot. These men helped to further
Cherokee nationalism by using a simple syllabery script, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Such a paper, comprising a summary of religious and political events, Etc. on the one hand; and on the
other, exhibiting the feelings, disposition, improvements, and prospects of the Indian; their traditions,
their true character, as it once was and as it now is; the ways and means most likely to throw the
mantle of civilization over all tribes; and such other matter as will tend to diffuse proper and correct
impressions in regard to their condition such a paper could not fail to create much interest in the
American community, favorable to the aborigines, and to have a powerful influence, on the
advancement of the Indians themselves.
The Cherokee Phoenix was the first of many Indian newspapers, and, through its columns as Boudinot
intended, gave a voice to the political struggles, religious conversion, and cultural advancement to the
newly formed Cherokee Nation.
In the first publication of the Cherokee Phoenix the constitution of the Cherokee Nation was printed to
inform all the Indians of their rights and guaranteed general welfare. This issue not only informed the
white population of this new republic, but also the Cherokees themselves. The Phoenix told about
district elections, named candidates, and featured editorials by Boudinot commenting on the progress
of their new government. The Indian readers of this newspaper began to identify themselves as a
group with a common

Iyashikei Anime , in Japanese, 癒し系アニメ, is one of the terms that is created from a Japanese Anime culture same as the word like Otaku, in Japanese, オタク, and Moe, in Japanese, 萌え(日本アニメから見る癒し系文化――『夏目友人帳』を中心に, http://www.lag 8.com). In this essay, I will go to discuss about Iyashikei culture s embodiment in anime by using one of the famous Iyashikei anime and manga, Natsume s Book of Friends . The 2012 project was intended to move the Company onto the SAP platform, create efficiencies for the employees, and reduce costs for daily operations. • 4. Persuasive Essay On Women In The Military Did you know that women could be drafted to combat? I believe that women should all get the chance to fight if they want to. There are tons of women that are in combat. They all join for different reasons, some join just to see what it s like, and some join because they want to represent their country. During the Civil War more than 400 women went into the army disguising themselves as men, just do that they could fight in the war. If women can dress up as men and go to war and fight for our country then i feel like we should give them the right to do it. In 2011 there was about 203,000 women in the United States Military. Some people think that women aren t capable of doing it, or that she won t be able to do it. Women going into the combat know that it is not an easy thing and are up to the challenge. But to me I think that if she thinks she can do it and is up for the challenge that we should believe that she can doing it to. In 1948 President Truman helped make a separate military service for women. If a women can show that she is capable in a boot camp then why shouldn t she be able to fight for our country. For women to be in the Military it might be tougher meaning guys naturally have more muscle, but if a women had their mindset on doing it, no one should tell her that is isn t allowed to because she isn t a guy. Today women have so much more freedom than what they used to have. Many people think that women won t be aggressive during the war and that s why they should not be able to be a part of something as great as it. I think that women will be aggressive when it comes to the real fight because they know that if they don t they could most likely be killed. Going into the military women know that they have a chance of not coming out. Solveig Krey was the first woman commander of a Norwegian submarine in 1995. For years women have been filling in combat roles. After being in the war and killing another human being those images stay in your head, or well for Leigh Ann Hester, she still thinks about it every single day. • 8. The Power Of Fear In Dante s Inferno The power of fear is has very little limits, (Shorto). The great writer, Dante, was aware of this singular fact, and used it to fuel his famous text The Inferno. As Dante constructs his masterpiece his creative mind is let loose on a rampage of pain. He forges a variety of punishments for the souls damned to Hell. Each consequence follows a sin made by the common people, and as these common people read about what could become of them they experience fear. In The Inferno written by Dante, the text contains several vivid punishments that strike fear in the hearts of its readers, and motivates them against sin. The second Canto contains one of the first cruel punishments that advises against giving into the desires of the heart, and it encourages readers not to sin in such a way. Dante and Virgil stumble upon a scene where sinners who abandoned themselves to their temptations, (Canto 2, line 53), swirl around in the tempest of Hell. Dante soon spots the well known Paolo and Francesca and calls to them wishing to hear their story. The two tell a story of abandoning reason to fulfil their appetites, and how they must not spend eternity in the grasp of the other as punishment. Upon hearing this tale, Dante is stricken with compassion and weeps for them. Any reader of this section may also feel pity for the couple, but it is also a feeling of fear that begins to take hold. A fear of committing the same sin and Paolo and Francesca and receiving their punishment creeps into ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Nature has been deteriorating since the introduction of the human species, and Cronon attributes this issue to the destructive nature of humans. The essay begins with his thesis the time has come to rethink wilderness (Cronon 1). He challenges the reader to find the difference between wilderness and wildness. Cronon s biggest fear is violating the holiness of nature. Humanity s culture is based off the desire to have a unity with wilderness. • 11. The House of the Spirits and Kiss of the Spiderwoman Essay It is, at times, stated that paradoxes allow for misinterpretation in almost every aspect of life. Wherever those paradoxes appear, conflicts, both external and internal, arise and misunderstandings ensue. In the two novels The House of the Spirits by Isabel Allende and Kiss of the Spiderwoman by Manuel Puig, however, the characters Alba and Molina, respectively, create paradoxes through their subversive actions. These paradoxes create conflicts in self interest, which, in turn, reveal the impossibility of actually knowing or understanding one s true motives. In Allende s The House of the Spirits, the character Alba displays subversive tendencies around her progression into adulthood. For example, Alba ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The paradox in this instance appears in the idea that one cannot tell if Alba values her sanity more than her life, or vice versa. Also, one cannot fathom what Alba truly wants to accomplish through her makeshift memoirs. Even though one can argue that Alba records these events because Clara told her that it was necessary for survival, one could also argue that Alba is doing so in order to show her devotion to Miguel and his cause. By disobeying the warden, Alba displays rebellious tendencies. Also, one could argue that Alba does this in order to take her mind off of Miguel, as some of the other inmates tell Alba to don t think about Miguel . Though he is, in most aspects, the exact opposite of Alba, the character Molina from Puig s Kiss of the Spiderwoman also exhibits subversive behaviors. And with these actions, their respective paradoxes also appear to create the aforementioned conflicts in interest. For example, there is one instance in which Molina states that, for him, acting like a man in a relationship is not for me, thus stating that he enjoys being submissive in a relationship instead of being the aggressor. However, Molina takes the initiative when agreeing to support Valentin s guerilla motives, not submitting to Valentin, but standing on an equal level with him. The fact that Molina is not submissive in regards to Valentin allows one to question whether Molina is pretending to be submissive in order to gain Valentin s pity and or trust, or rather ... The author suggests that this connection was not accidental because it is used to connect debates between authority and corruption. It is focusing on Hamlet s first encounter with Rosencrantz and Guildenstern and the phrase hawk from a handsaw from the play. Imagery of predatory birds is used to describe the informers. This article s audience would probably be people who are familiar with the play. I found this article useful because it was a very detailed textual criticism. It also provides evidence for the argument that handsaw is a corrupted form of the word heronshaw, or young heron. She discloses that the way he lured her was through the promise of leisure for [her] novel (9). The couple gets married and they have eight kids. This allows the reader to see that John had genuine intentions, but Margaret s bitterness interrupts this. Even though it takes two people to make a family, Margaret blames something she should be thankful for, but resents, on her husband. Her facade further crumples when she addresses the fact that she did not have time to write, but many people who have and care for children are able to make something out of themselves. In Greek mythology sirens were a creature half bird and half woman who lured sailors to destruction by the sweetness of her song (Britannica). Once a man heard their beautiful song it would drive them insane, leading them into jumping overboard. John William Waterhouse, in his panting Ulysses and the Sirens, he shows you how the sirens were believed to truly look to the Greeks and how the hideous creatures would come swooping down and go after the men. • 24. Lubrication Theory For Journal Bearing John Rogers Dr. Sawicki Flows in a Journal Bearing 17 June 2016 I. LUBRICATION THEORY Lubrication is the use of viscous fluids to reduce friction and damage between solid surfaces. In hydrodynamic lubrication, a shaft rotating in a bearing is supported by a layer or wedge of oil so the shaft is not in contact with bearing material. The surfaces are in sliding motion relative to each other. Lubrication theory for journal bearings describes the flow of fluids in which the fluid film lubricant thickness is far smaller than the dimensions of the bearing. A major focus in lubrication theory is to determine the pressure distribution in the fluid volume. In this way, the forces of the shaft being supported by the lubricant can be measured. A purpose of analyzing crankshaft bearings is to diminish friction and wear due to small film thicknesses [1]. The minimum film thickness of a journal bearing should be greater than the average asperity height (unevenness, roughness) of the journal bearing surface to prevent any surface contact, and consequently, avoid friction and wear. For journal bearing design, the minimum safe value for film thickness is 2.5 microns [2]. Values lower than this can create too low of supporting oil pressure and damage the journal bearing. Bearings in reciprocating machinery operate with dynamic loads creating large journal orbits within the bearing clearance, which is the distance between the radius of the bearing and the radius of the journal ... There are many intriguing themes that O Brien is sharing in the text, but the most striking is the differences between the way each person handles war. People in the story cope by imagining things for motivation and pleasure. Imagination can help soldiers, but also does not help in war when the coping distracts one from important situations. The most common coping mechanism in the war stories has to do with women because they were used as security blankets during war. Soldiers use women, imagined and real, to offer an escape from war, but due to their inability to understand the war, the women cannot help them cope. Imagining women does not help soldiers cope in war when reality is propped up next to it. The process of destruction took many forms as the tribes faced both physical and cultural assaults from the American military, while the New Mexican citizens, and rival tribes of Native Americans engaged in raids, attacks, and taking captives from the Navajos. To Navajo chiefs Barboncito and Delgadito, Carlton wished it explained that those Navajos who claimed not to be guilty of murder and robbery, that for their own preservation and as a means of validating their innocence, must come to Bosque Redondo as a means of separating themselves from the guilty parties. Carleton explained to his subordinates that they had no power to negotiate surrender with the Navajos, and that they must explain the conditions by which surrender could be accepted, stating that if approached by Navajos seeking peace it should be explained to them that they must, Go to the Bosque Redondo, or we will pursue and destroy you. Dsm-5 Classification One major change in the category of the substance related disorders is that DSM 5 uses an overarching concept substance use disorder rather than two distinguished concepts in DSM IV, which are substance abuse and substance dependence. As the diagnostic categorization changed, two sets of criteria 4 aspects for abuse and 7 aspects for dependence are replaced with a single set of criteria 11 aspects for substance use disorder with 3 levels of severity (mild: 2 3, moderate: 4 5, or severe: 6 or more) sub classification. The contents of criteria are almost same, however, a criterion of legal problem is omitted and a new criterion that asks craving to use the specific substance is added. Another change is that DSM 5 classifies 10 classes of substances in addition to 1 addictive disorder whereas DSM IV TR recognizes 13 classes of substances. For example, DSM 5 puts together Amphetamine Related and Cocaine Related Disorders into Stimulant Related Disorders with sub categories (Amphetamine type, Cocaine, or other stimulants). The Japanese had attacked the American military base at Pearl Harbor, which is near Oahu. The Japanese managed to destroy nearly 20 American naval vessels, including eight enormous battleships, and more than 300 airplanes. More than 2,000 Americans soldiers and sailors died in the attack, and another 1,000 were wounded.
