Napoleon Crossing The Alps By Jacques-Louis David
Arguably the most successful portrait of the military powerhouse, Napoleon Crossing the Alps by
Jacques Louis David is nothing short of political propaganda. Completed in January of 1801, this oil
on canvas painting depicts Napoleon as he leads his troops across the Alps in May of 1800, which lead
to the defeat of the Austrians at the Battle of Marengo in June of the same year. The portrait,
commissioned by the King of Spain, was to hang in the Royal Palace along with paintings of other
military leaders. It is an equestrian portrait of the future Emperor of France. Though the painting
depicts Napoleon leading his troops through the alps, he actually followed his troops a few days later.
Nonetheless, the painting captures Napoleon s great achievement

Essay about Rhetorical Appeals and Ethical Argument Analysis
Rhetorical Appeals and Ethical Argument
The Word Nigga Is Only for Slaves and Sambos was written by Rob Nelson and first published in a
university newspaper in North Carolina. Later on, the article was so meaningful that it was re
published in the academic journal, the Journal of Blacks in Higher Education. In the article The Word
Nigga is only for Slaves and Sambos , Rob Nelson uses ethos, logos, and especially skillful pathos
appeals based on the history of slavery and the illustration about the future of African American, to
prove why he thinks the N word is not acceptable. By using ethical argument and those clever appeals,
Rob Nelson definitely persuades his young African American audience.

Most importantly, he did not try to win the argument no matter what, but he uses those powerful
appeals cleverly to convince his audience.
Rob Nelson brought this article with an extrinsic ethos in it based on the character of the author. Rob
Nelson is a well known African American editor in Chief of Chapel Hill s Daily Tar Heel newspaper.
Its estimated print readership of 38,000 makes it the largest community newspaper in Orange County
(DTH Media, 2011). This is a well known magazine for the audience; therefore, all the information
and article from Daily Tar Heel must be reliable to the audience. Since he was born and raised in an
African American community, Nelson usually reflects on issues about race and practicing racism in
his writing. Later on, the article was re published in the academic journal, the Journal of Blacks in
Higher Education, a journal that has a high academically reliable and strong authority. The readers
knew about Nelson and his authority before they read his article.
In addition, the article The Word Nigga Is Only for Slaves and Sambos also has a strong intrinsic ethos
itself based on the quality of his writing. The argument was organized in a logical way and easy to
follow. The article started from introducing the word Nigger and the history of it, then a specific story
from his own experience, then arguments about the affectionate term and its negative effects, and
finally with a metaphor illustration to end his article. He

The Indian Resturant near Syracuse
Restaurants were first established in France (Davis, 2004). In Syracuse, there are a variety of
restaurants that represents different cultures .The idea of restaurants is to help the people and
especially the travelers to discover more about a culture. Restaurants are one of the crucial elements to
take in account when talking about cultures. They are one of the strong representatives of a culture.
Therefore, for a restaurant to be a good representative of a culture, it should have at least several
strong categories that can make it a good representative of a certain culture. The Indian Restaurant that
will be evaluated has many strong categories and some that are weaker.
The Indian Restaurant has many strong categories that represent the good side, such as, the location,
the food, and the price. It is conveniently located next to the Marshal Street, which is the restaurants
road in the main campus of Syracuse University. Thus, Students and teachers who want to eat, it
would be more reasonable to eat at one of the restaurants located there rather than driving to
somewhere to eat especially if they have a following class. Furthermore, there is many ways of
transportation to go to the main campus, such as, buses, cars, and bikes which make it easier for
everyone to go there. The food is also one of the strongest categories as well. The Indian Restaurant
provides many famous kinds of spices and it is known for its hot spices. The quality of the food is

Double Cross System
In May, 1940 when Winston Churchill became Prime Minister, he wanted fifth columnists be rooted
out completely because he felt that they were working behind to aid Hitler and could not accept that
the victories of Germany from Western Europe to Norway could entirely be caused by their weapons
and tactical superiority. He realised that Vernon Kell, the head of security service had stayed on for far
too long so he replaced him with Jasper Hacker who was also not up to the task and he too was
changed in a period that the entire Security Service appear to be chaotic after Hitler s invasion in

The Silk Road And Its Effect On Every Aspect Of People s...
Though the magnitude of our trade today is unprecedented to history, its foundation can be linked to
The Silk Road. The Silk Road is referred to an ancient network of trading routes that started around
the 2nd century B.C, reaching its zenith around the time of the Tang dynasty (6th 9th c.) and declining
in the late 14th century B.C. . Its origin dates back to the Han Dynasty where the Silk Road was used
to reach out to surrounding cities and empires to develop alliances for trade. The original purpose for
The Silk Road was to link China to Europe through trade and for political reasons, but later on
merchants discovered that the route provided safer travel for carrying merchandise from place to
place. Not long after merchants and nomads ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Silk, although the most traded, was only one of a wide range of goods imported between Eastern and
Western civilizations. Its importance lies not only in the traded merchandise and commodities but also
in its development of new ideas, spread of religions, and exchange of knowledge and culture. The Silk
Road stretched across the lands of Europe and the surrounding seas, connecting various societies,
allowing them to come in contact with other cultures, traditions, and ideas. The Silk Road slowly
threaded its way into the civilization of mankind making an inestimable contribution to its
development. The interactions between these worlds reshaped the lives of the people from China to
the Mediterranean.
The Silk Road allowed for exploration of other lifestyles, places, and resources which helped shape
early modern europe. The Silk Road led to new explorations, its purpose was prompted by the desire
of humans to explore. Therefore, the desire to explore created and lead to new inspiration and piqued
interest that built on top of their curiosity which resulted in the creation of The Silk Road, which then
eventually lead to more explorations. It is only natural for human beings too long and yearn for things
others have, that they lack. So it would seem appropriate that the ancients should want to go far
beyond the walls of their society to discover unfamiliar territories, seeking to broaden their horizons,

Bhopal Gas Disaster
Executive Summary On December 3, 1984, toxic poisonous methyl isocyanate gas leaked from Union
Carbide India Limited (UCIL s) pesticide plant in Bhopal. The gas leak triggered a disaster that is now
widely recognized as the world worst industrial catastrophe. Thousands of people were killed instantly
and more than 25,000 people have died of gas related illnesses, several thousands more maimed for
life since. Union Carbide negotiated a settlement with the Indian Government in 1989 for $470
million a total of only $370 to $533 per victim a sum too small to pay for most medical bills. In 1996,

daughter Faiza Siddiqui included in the beneficiaries list despite the girl being born three years after
the gas tragedy. The alleged fraud did not end here, as the woman claimed the compensation twice in

Summary Of The Red Figure Volute Krater
The Red Figure Volute Krater was made in ca. 310 100 B.C by an unknown Arpi painter. This mixing
vessel was crafted in Apulia, a region near southern Italy. It was made out of ceramic and was
smoothly painted. The mixing vessel/vase is approximately half the height of the average human, and
approximately 20 inches in diameter, making it a rather large piece of art. It had a solid base, hollowed
our center and two handles on either side, for carrying and decoration. Red Figure Volute Krater is a
very intriguing artwork and includes two painted sides that depict narratives. The artists use of
detailed figures, movement, and composition create an emotional narrative for the viewer of the Red
Figure Volute Krater. The Red Figure Volute Krater is located in the Tampa Museum of Arts. The
museum has a modern feel to it and by viewing it from the outside you will notice its modern
architecture. The artwork is located in an exhibit with Greek and Roman antiquities, which is on the
second floor of the museum. When you walk up the main stair case this is the first exhibit you see, it is
not easily hidden, and it is filled with fascinating objects. This exhibit in particular is located next to
an exhibit on animals in ancient art, which also displays similar artworks. I believe that since the
exhibit where this piece is displayed is front and center so to speak in the museum many people can
view it. This work specifically located in a stand alone display case in the center of the

King Lear Alzheimer s Disorder Essay
William Shakespeare s tragedy, King Lear is a heart wrenching reminder for people who have lost a
loved one from dementia due to Alzheimer s disease. King Lear is a play whose protagonist, an elderly
man, loses his grip on reality and dies as a result. Lear reveals symptoms of the medical diagnosis,
Major Neurocognitive Disorder due to possible Alzheimer s Disease through his actions, emotions,
words, and from the observations of other characters in the play. The emotional pain of watching a
fictional character quickly unravel due to a degenerative disease that scientists today still don t quite
understand, can manifest into a hauntingly familiar ache for those who have witnessed the disease first
hand.
In the current climate of medical diagnoses, the terminology, dementia, which was previously
accepted in the DSM IV has been replaced in the DSM 5 as a Major NCD a.k.a. Major Neurocognitive
Disorder (607). The DSM 5 estimates that a Major NCD diagnosis occurs in 30% of people who reach
the age of 85 years (609). King Lear falls into this category because in Act 4, Scene 7, he states, I am a
very foolish fond old man, Fourscore and upward, not an hour more nor less (Shakespeare). In other ...

the tragedy in Act 1, Scene 5, Lear himself even stated that he was fearful of losing his mind to age:

mad. Unfortunately for Lear, his worst case scenario came true. This reminds the audience that there is

Pool Physical Therapy
Benefits of Pool Physical Therapy
Physical Therapy is a physical medicine and rehabilitation specialty that is performed by physical
therapists with a goal to improve a person s quality of life, mobility and function. In short, it is a way
of relieving pain and improving person s life. A lot of the time it is used by elderly people, people with
disabilities, or wounded/now disabled military personnel to, at least partially, restore their mobility
and return their life to normal as much as possible. The main goal of physical therapy is to relieve pain
and pressure on certain body parts and make life as easy as possible. Physical Therapy can help with:
Arthritis Pain
Accelerated Sports Rehab
Low Back Pain
Obesity
Fibromyalgia
Difficulty with Walking/Balance
Water or Aquatic physical therapy is the same way as regular physical therapy but it is performed in
water. Usually, people that I mentioned above that cannot do land physical therapy because of the pain
are put in water and do their physical therapy there. The reason for that is because water moves the
body weight all around and does not focus on a specific body part. From the experiences I read on the
internet, people say that this type of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Additionally, south Broadway is perceived by many metro residents as the place to go for high end

been perceived as being either too far north or not southerly enough. The Ralph Schomp BMW

Motive For Murder In Hamlet
Murder often represents the revenge or hatred felt by a desperate soul attempting to fill an empty
space. Shakespeare s Hamlet Prince of Denmark is full of death, but the true purpose behind tragic
murders is buried beneath a cynical reason. King Claudius slowly unravels the details of his dirty act,
and Queen Gertrude, Hamlet, and Ophelia all have a part in the deaths that occur throughout this
eventful play. The crimes that are committed only help to destroy the pitiful existence that each of
these characters portray. The horrific murders that take place throughout Shakespeare s Hamlet
provide the motive for revenge by the characters of Claudius, Hamlet, Ophelia, Laertes and Gertrude.

Ophelia is a confusing and emotional character because her body does not match her mind;
mesmerizing on the outside but devious on the inside. Her life is constantly surrounded by men who
have either taken advantage of her beauty or people who believe she is actually going insane. King
Claudius and Hamlet are prime examples of men who continually disrespect her kind heart. Letters are
given back to Hamlet by Ophelia and this causes an intense conflict between these two artful
characters. Hamlet becomes extremely upset and states, That if you be honest and fair, your honesty
should admit no discourse to your beauty (Shakespeare 3.1. 107 108). Her destiny appears to be in a
nunnery to prevent her dreadful life from progressing to insanity, but reality snatches her first. Ophelia
s motive of revenge is brought upon several characters through a shameful crime; suicide. Her lifeless
body floats in a bed of water surrounded by flowers after the drowning occurs. Shakespeare s brilliant
imagery provides the reader with an insight of just how peaceful her death is, but it also guides the
reader towards why she killed herself in the first place. Revenge is the main reason of Ophelia s
suicide and her wishes come true after her brother, Laertes, is deeply affected. His sister has just died,
and he is desperate to prove himself worthy of living

Vietnam Veterans Oral Histories In The Classroom Analysis
COINTELPRO (Counter Intelligence Program) repressed the government and firmly insured that any
disputes going on within the government would end. The head of the Federal Bureau of Investigation
(FBI), J. Edgar Hoover founded the program in 1950. Hoover made it very clear that any person who
was an activist in the anti war movement would find their life invaded. Hoover s goal was to root out
communism using any tactics that he could. The ways that this was achieved was through wire taps,
lies, and having families investigated and threatened. The purpose of this was that the FBI wanted to

Darius The Great Of The Empire
Darius I, also known as Darius the Great, was the third king who reigned from 550 486 BCE during
the Achaemenid Empire. While he lived, Darius held the empire at its peak, which stretched from the
river Nile and parts of Northern Greece to the Indus River Valley. One of the most major events in
Darius s life was his expedition to discipline Athens and Eretria for their support in the Ionian Revolt.
He made his empire larger by vanquishing Thrace and Macedonia, and occupying Scythia. He also
arranged his empire, by splitting it into provinces and placing governors to rule over it. Darius
organized a new financial system, along with making Aramaic the official language of the empire. He
followed religious tolerance that created peace within the empire. Darius order the carving of the cliff

Homework Isn’t The Answer
Homework Isn t The Answer Prioritize; this is an idea that I was taught to make use of at a very young
age. I was instructed to analyze what was on my agenda and decide what task had the most value at
that current time. It is an unrealistic idea for college bound students to be able to complete all of the
home learning as well as all of our other daily expectations. Over the last ten years, children in grades
3 12 have seen assigned homework increase up to 40%. I personally have four teachers who told me to
expect 2 hours of homework a night. At least I have a choice though, right? I can do the work or drop
the class , but unfortunately our classrooms are overcrowded so I can t switch to a more reasonable
teacher of the subject... and too bad I need these credits to graduate. There s that word prioritize again.
Assuming I went to school and only 3 of my teachers assigned me the said homework I would be left
with 12 hours in my day (6 hours were spent at school and supposedly 6 hours were spent on
homework). Now, According to the National Sleep Foundation, teenagers need 9.5 hours of being
unconscious to not suffer from sleep deprivation (1). SO lets say I got my 9 hours of sleep, did my
homework, and went school. That would leave me with less than 3 hours to eat, practice personal
hygiene, commute, go to work, and do everything else expected from schools and colleges; extra
curricular activities, sports, volunteering, studying, applying to universities...

Taking a Look at the Omnivore s Dilemma
What am I exactly eating? Where does our food come from? Why should I care? The Omnivore s
Dilemma may forever change the way you think about food. I enjoyed Mr. Pollan s book, The
Omnivore s Dilemma and learned a great deal of information. Pollan s book is a plea for us to stop and
think for a moment about our whole process of eating. Pollan sets out to corn fields and natural farms,
goes hunting and foraging, all in the name of coming to terms with where food really comes from in
modern America and what the ramifications are for the eaters, the eaten, the economy and the
environment. The results are far more than I expected them to be.
I had no idea we used so much fossil fuel to get corn to grow as much as it does. There is a
widespread of obesity today due to the need of agricultural excesses of corn. I hadn t thought, for
example that anyone could give me any more reasons not to eat HOT French fries at McDonalds, but
Pollan did!
The first section of this book traces a meal at McDonalds back to its basic ingredient corn. From the
corn that feeds the chickens to the xanthan gum in the milkshake to the sweetener in the ketchup and
oil in which the fries are cooked, McDonalds is mostly corn. Since Fast Food Nation and the other
exposes, I don t think there s anyone who cares who doesn t know how gross fast food is, and Pollan
admirably stays away from the yuckiest. Instead, he goes to accusing Americans who eat food of
having become like koalas, capable of absorbing

If Vancouver wins the right to host the Games, the province has pledged a total of $310 million over
six years to fund the necessary facilities for the Games. This investment is matched by $310 million
from the federal government to cover the cost of construction of new athletic facilities such as a speed
skating complex at SFU, hockey arena at UBC and Olympic Villages, as well as upgrading existing
facilities to world class standards. Included in this investment are $110 million in legacy funds to
allow the facilities to be maintained and operated for public use after the Games, at no additional cost
to the community. The 2010 Olympic Games are fully supported by the provincial and federal
governments and private sector. The costs of the investment are shared, and so are the benefits – by
the entire province and country.

The And Vocation Questionnaire For College Students
Introduction How is a calling (the search for or the presence of) mediated by student reported
measures such as, academic satisfaction, withdrawal deliberation, and major commitment among
college students? To explore the research questions this review will use the Calling and Vocation
Questionnaire (CVQ; Dik, Eldridge, Steger, Duffy, 2012) to measure calling. Measurement of the
variable of academic satisfaction will be facilitated by a seven item measure developed by Lent, et al.
(2005). Withdrawal deliberation measures will be adapted from Pleskac, et al. (2009). The variable of
major commitment will be measure through the academic major satisfaction survey (Nauta, 2007).
Review of Instrument The CVQ is a 24 item, self report measure that assesses an individual s belief
that they have a calling, and/or the individual is searching for a calling (Dik, et al., 2012). The
instrument s purpose as described by its authors is to assess calling in the domain of work (Dik, et al.,
2012, pg. 243). The CVQ includes three subscales that relate to the search for a calling (Search
Transcendent Summons, Search Purposeful Work, and Search Prosocial Orientation) and three
subscales that relate to the presence of a calling (Presence Transcendent Summons, Presence
Purposeful Work, and Presence Prosocial Orientation). The items are endorsed by the test taker on a
Likert style scale of one to four, one being Not at all true of me and four being Absolutely true of me .

Earthquake Intensities
Earthquake Intensities
Earthquakes are a marvel of geology. When faults under the surface of the earth move, the ground
moves. These earthquakes can be very mild, barely registering or they can be horrific with far
reaching consequences. Scientists have become fascinated with the study of earthquakes for centuries
but it is only in recent years that quantified data has been collected and analyzed by scientists
regarding these geologic phenomena. Before the invention of the Richter scale, less accurate means of
measuring an earthquake s intensity were used by geological scientists.
Until the early 1900s, earthquakes could only be measured after the earthquake had ended and then
only approximations could be made. The first attempt at scientifically measuring an earthquake s
intensity was performed in the middle of the nineteenth century. In Italy in 1857, the after effects of an
earthquake were quantified (Lutgen 2011, page 179). A map was created to show the comparable
damages that were found in different areas. This allowed geographers to make maps which would
show the areas of highest intensity and how intensity lessened in surrounding areas. Although this was
helpful, it only showed comparative intensities, not quantified data.
In 1902, Giuseppe Mercalli developed what was called the Modified Mercalli Intensity Scale. An
American version of the Mercalli system was incorporated in 1931. This system judged intensity of
earthquakes based upon the ways California

What And How The Software Requirement Specification ( Srs...
The debate about what and how the software requirement specification (SRS) should be made
between customers and contractors or suppliers continues. Also most computer science engineers and
researchers agree that, software requirements specification permits a rigorous assessment of
requirements before design can begin and reduces later redesign. It should also provide a realistic
basis for estimating product costs, risks, and schedules [1], in other words, the SRS is the step that one
would use to find the path to getting one s own goal. Since there is not a standard for the SRS [14], it
is necessary to find the hidden pattern for both the people who is making the SRS and the people who
is reading the SRS. Furthermore, in software design engineers can refer the SRS as a part of larger
problem solving process which encompasses problem determination and generates the solution for the
problem. Thus, researchers consider that it is highly possible that the SRS can be classified under the
problem solving cycle [2], which engineers will recognize the problem, re define the problem in terms
of making systems, develop a strategy plan to fix the problem, organize the knowledge of the problem
domain figure out the resources that user s disposal by listing functionalities, monitor user s
implementations, and evaluate the solution for accuracy. In SRS is unnecessary to follow the exact
order but it is highly likely that completed one section with a problem another problem will pop up in

Analysis Of Surprise By Jane Kenyon
I Swear, It s Not What It Looks Like:
Denial, Selective Perception, and Fear of Betrayal in Jane Kenyon s Surprise Television psychologists
and pop culture self help gurus tell us that marriage is hard work; marriage is compromise; marriage is
a choice between being right, and being happy. All of these statements are true. What these experts
don t tell us, however, is that marriage is also about putting on blinders, or looking on the bright side,
or one of a hundred other trite phrases to explain the art of self deception. In marriage, there are times
when we may find it necessary to look the other way from our spouse s faults or indiscretions, in the
interest of self preservation. For if we examine these problems too closely, our darkest, most secret
fears may come true. Therefore, it can seem easier to focus on the positive. In her poem Surprise, Jane
Kenyon uses denial, selective perception, and fear of betrayal to illustrate the self deception that can
occur in marriage. The woman in Surprise is in denial about her husband s behavior. On the surface,
the poem is about a woman whose husband gets her out of the house while their friends gather in
secret for a birthday party. She goes along with his ruse of going out for breakfast, followed by a walk.
She doesn t seem to be aware that a party is in the works, even though her friends are arriving, their
cars pulled close along the sandy shoulders/ of the road (5 6). This willful blindness on her part

The Importance And Cons Of Civil Law
In November 2016, several merchants who had previously opted out of the 2012 settlement (led by
Target, 7 Eleven and Home Depot, and now styled as the Direct Action Plaintiffs ) sent letters
notifying Judge Brodie that they wanted to amend their complaints. . Defendants vigorously objected
and filed letter replies. . All the parties including the Rule 23(b)(3) and Rule 23(b)(2) Class Plaintiffs
appeared before the Court for a December 8, 2016 Status Conference. . Shortly after the Conference,
the parties submitted a unified briefing schedule and fully briefed their arguments (the briefs were
initially served but not filed on the court s docket). . The parties made their oral arguments to

Second, damages are sought to be extended from the original 2012 settlement date through whenever
the case is resolved. . So while the original damages period covered 2004 2012, the amended
complaint seeks damages through at least 2017. . Under the operative theories, Visa and MasterCard
have earned many billions of dollars of additional, wrongful profits in the ensuing 5+ years; profits
that would be open to treble damages at trial. Beyond the addition of cardholders into the equation, the
new complaints primary liability claims are largely the same. . In general, the complaints allege that
Visa and MasterCard engaged in a conspiracy to restrain trade and monopolize acceptance of their
credit and debit cards to the detriment of merchants (and now consumers). . The Plaintiffs did use the
proposed amended complaint to add two additional issues: Debit Routing and Durbin: New Claim for
Relief. . Plaintiffs claim that Visa implemented new fees and policies after The Durbin Amendment
went into effect at the end of 2011, including the Fixed Acquirer Network Fee (FANF) and the PIN
Authenticated Visa Debit Mandate (PAVD), policies still in place, that frustrate debit competition. . It
is unclear what, if any, damages may be attributable to this conduct. EMV Implementation: New
Claim for Relief.

The purpose of this investigation is to examine the extent to which the Chinese Cultural Revolution
impacted China s economy from 1966 to 1970. The main body of the investigation will focus on the
persecution and violence towards high level party officials and capitalists by the Red Guards and the
Destroy the Four Olds campaign. The Destroy the Four Olds campaign was significant because it
inhibited industrial and agricultural innovation and production of an entire country for a decade as it
placed the country s economy and industry into the hands of inexperienced revolutionaries. Two
sources that will be used will be China: A New History and Modern China: The Fall and Rise of a
Great Power, 1850 to the Present, and they will be evaluated in regards to their purpose, value, and
limitations. An analysis of these sources and the evidence will be used to form a conclusion as to how
and to what extent the revolution impacted the Chinese economy.

Comparison between London and Atlanta Based Airlines
How would the two airlines (London based and Atlanta based) be more reactive to the requirements of
the patrons while upholding equally operational efficiency and effectiveness?
Areas of concern
1. Environment. Clients have a higher standard on the London based airline because of its past
performance for an exceptional service. Similarly, clients also presume that the high cost incurred
should be recompensed by superb provisions.
2. Information technology structure. Bearing in mind the facts provided in the case, McPherson made
a few suppositions that the airline flying to London should have acknowledged him from their
computer as a short timed linking passenger, and that considering the premium price he paid for his

the hydraulic system leaks should be watched closely in the near future to find out why this
mechanical problem occurred and the origin of the problem needs to be identified.
In an effort to rise to the customers expectations of superior customer service, a cross reference
customer data base should be implemented with shared information. A possible color coded system
that would enable the airline agents and attendance as to the customers amount of travel is it a
business trip or leisure, main time of travel per year etc. All of this gathered customer data base
information would be beneficial if multiple parties throughout the airline had access to in in order to
follow up on any and all concerns of customer needs and specifications.
Assessment Criteria for Performance enhancement
The following are the suggested criteria in assessing the performance of airlines:
1. Operational accuracy. The planes departure and arrival times must be closely monitored in order to
maintain accuracy and adjust any unnecessary delays. Time is of the essence to the majority of
travelers, their travel plans are well thought out in advance and accuracy needs to be of the utmost
importance. If and when there is a delay in arrival or departure other than factors beyond the airlines
control, they should to be logged in and noted.
2. Quality control of mechanical equipment and facilities. Mechanical quality control records should
be updated

Visual Analysis Of The Minoan
This piece of art was created sometime between 1500 1450 BCE during the New Palace Period of the
Minoan culture. The Minoans lived on Crete, which is the largest of the Greek islands. Although the
Minoan people lived during the Bronze Age, their works of art encompassed many different styles and
media.
The Minoan octopus flask is a ceramic flask or jug made in Palaikastro, Crete, and stands at 11 inches
high. It appears to be completely spherical with a foot on the bottom to keep it upright and two
handles, one on each side of the neck, going from the rim to the body. While there is solidity in the
vessel itself, there is fluidity in the movement and energy in the lines of the artwork that gives the
viewer the impression that the octopus is

Fall Road Trip
Essential Elements for a Fantastic Fall Road Trip There s nothing quite like getting out and about in
the fall. From the brilliant, changing hues of the foliage as they contrast with the aptly named
evergreens to the migrating geese, whales, and other seasonal species. Fall air seems especially brisk
and exhilarating, and early morning frosts turn landscapes into spectacular dreams. Fall also offers
shoppers a virtual wonderland as stores enter into their holiday sale events, closing out the summer
goods, bringing out holiday present ideas, and attempting to give you just enough of a taste to lure you
back for Black Friday. Slow down... before you jump in the ole vacation mobile and hit the road to
adventure, there are a few details to consider to ensure your time of enjoyment and decompression
doesn t become a source of stress and woe. 1. Plan/Schedule. Unless you have open start and end dates
and can get there when we get there and your return is when we pull in the driveway , you will need a
schedule. Notice that I did not suggest a minute by minute itinerary. If you are one who likes that sort
of thing, bless you, but I recommend an uncomplicated schedule which can simply guide your path
and reduce anxiety. One easy way to prepare your schedule is to use the 4 W s. Who: Are you
planning to visit somebody? Do they know ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Knowing when to be on the road and when to stop is especially important if your trip is shorter and
you have limited time. For example, if you are heading out on a long weekend leaving on Friday
afternoon, the same time as everybody else is, you are likely to spend way too much time in traffic.
Consider taking a few extra vacation hours and leaving Friday morning, or start out a few hours later
and do some night

The Most Powerful Computers Of The Technology World
Supercomputers
The most powerful computers in the technology world are the Supercomputers. Hence, as the word
super elaborate that supercomputers are usually used for the projects that needs to process large
amount of data, at very high speed. Supercomputers not only has the high processing power; they are
also huge in size. You need a big room to fit in a supercomputer, and a strong cooling system to avoid
getting a supercomputer to get overheated. They usually have more than one CPU s to generate high
level data processing speed, and they need to have a large storage as well. The unit system that are
used to measure the computing performance of the supercomputer are FLOPS (Floating point
Operation Per Second). The first ever supercomputer was made during the time of Second World War
named Colossus . It was made by The Great Britain, specially to crack the coded messages of
Germans. Colossus could read up to 5000 characters in a second. Colossus was the start of a
revolution in supercomputing. Since 1944, more enhanced and powerful supercomputers were
introduced for example MIT Whirlwind by MIT in 1950. Cray 1 designed by Seymour Cray in 1975.
Seymour Cray was called the Father of Supercomputer . He founded Cray Research in 1972, which
designs supercomputers. The computing power of Cray 1 was 80 megaflops (vector) and 72
megaflops (scaler). After Cray 1, Cray X MP, and Cray 2 also came out with 4 CPU s and twice the

A Career In Special Education
Special education teachers remain in high demand. Although there are numerous special education
teaching jobs, there aren t enough individuals in the field to fill these positions. Children suffering
from mental or physical disabilities often need special learning method and require more time and
energy from their instructors. Currently, approximately ten percent of individuals working in this field
lack the necessary credentials, and states are authorizing temporary licenses. Teachers with a
temporary license are then given a predetermined period of time to complete their license. As the need
for teachers in this field is expected to grow by approximately 35 percent over the coming decade,
those wishing to become a special education teacher will find they have numerous job opportunities.
Growth In Special Education
Dr. K. Lynn Boyer, is the Council of Exceptional Chldren s National Clearinghouse for Professions in
Special Education director. Dr. Boyer states there are roughly 380,000 teachers currently employed in
the field. An estimated 13 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At this time, universities train approximately 22,000 teachers to work in special education teaching
jobs every year. This is only 50 percent of the number needed to fill these positions. Further
exacerbating the problem is the departure rate of educators currently working in the field. Studies
show that a special education teacher is significantly more likely to leave his or her profession than
mainstream educators. This is due in part to a lack of support on the part of school administrators,
mounting paperwork, minimal resources and more.

  • 2. Napoleon Crossing The Alps By Jacques-Louis David Arguably the most successful portrait of the military powerhouse, Napoleon Crossing the Alps by Jacques Louis David is nothing short of political propaganda. Completed in January of 1801, this oil on canvas painting depicts Napoleon as he leads his troops across the Alps in May of 1800, which lead to the defeat of the Austrians at the Battle of Marengo in June of the same year. The portrait, commissioned by the King of Spain, was to hang in the Royal Palace along with paintings of other military leaders. It is an equestrian portrait of the future Emperor of France. One of the most major events in Darius s life was his expedition to discipline Athens and Eretria for their support in the Ionian Revolt. Pollan sets out to corn fields and natural farms, goes hunting and foraging, all in the name of coming to terms with where food really comes from in modern America and what the ramifications are for the eaters, the eaten, the economy and the environment. The results are far more than I expected them to be. I had no idea we used so much fossil fuel to get corn to grow as much as it does. There is a widespread of obesity today due to the need of agricultural excesses of corn. I hadn t thought, for example that anyone could give me any more reasons not to eat HOT French fries at McDonalds, but Pollan did! From the corn that feeds the chickens to the xanthan gum in the milkshake to the sweetener in the ketchup and oil in which the fries are cooked, McDonalds is mostly corn. Review of Instrument The CVQ is a 24 item, self report measure that assesses an individual s belief that they have a calling, and/or the individual is searching for a calling (Dik, et al., 2012). The instrument s purpose as described by its authors is to assess calling in the domain of work (Dik, et al., 2012, pg. 243). The CVQ includes three subscales that relate to the search for a calling (Search Transcendent Summons, Search Purposeful Work, and Search Prosocial Orientation) and three subscales that relate to the presence of a calling (Presence Transcendent Summons, Presence Purposeful Work, and Presence Prosocial Orientation). The items are endorsed by the test taker on a Likert style scale of one to four, one being Not at all true of me and four being Absolutely true of me . Each of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 22. Earthquake Intensities Earthquake Intensities Earthquakes are a marvel of geology. When faults under the surface of the earth move, the ground moves. These earthquakes can be very mild, barely registering or they can be horrific with far reaching consequences. Scientists have become fascinated with the study of earthquakes for centuries but it is only in recent years that quantified data has been collected and analyzed by scientists regarding these geologic phenomena. Before the invention of the Richter scale, less accurate means of measuring an earthquake s intensity were used by geological scientists. Until the early 1900s, earthquakes could only be measured after the earthquake had ended and then only approximations could be made. The first attempt at scientifically measuring an earthquake s intensity was performed in the middle of the nineteenth century. In Italy in 1857, the after effects of an earthquake were quantified (Lutgen 2011, page 179). A map was created to show the comparable damages that were found in different areas. This allowed geographers to make maps which would show the areas of highest intensity and how intensity lessened in surrounding areas. Although this was helpful, it only showed comparative intensities, not quantified data. In 1902, Giuseppe Mercalli developed what was called the Modified Mercalli Intensity Scale. An American version of the Mercalli system was incorporated in 1931. This system judged intensity of earthquakes based upon the ways California ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 23. What And How The Software Requirement Specification ( Srs... The debate about what and how the software requirement specification (SRS) should be made between customers and contractors or suppliers continues. Also most computer science engineers and researchers agree that, software requirements specification permits a rigorous assessment of requirements before design can begin and reduces later redesign. It should also provide a realistic basis for estimating product costs, risks, and schedules [1], in other words, the SRS is the step that one would use to find the path to getting one s own goal. Since there is not a standard for the SRS [14], it is necessary to find the hidden pattern for both the people who is making the SRS and the people who is reading the SRS. Furthermore, in software design engineers can refer the SRS as a part of larger problem solving process which encompasses problem determination and generates the solution for the problem. Thus, researchers consider that it is highly possible that the SRS can be classified under the problem solving cycle [2], which engineers will recognize the problem, re define the problem in terms of making systems, develop a strategy plan to fix the problem, organize the knowledge of the problem domain figure out the resources that user s disposal by listing functionalities, monitor user s implementations, and evaluate the solution for accuracy. In SRS is unnecessary to follow the exact order but it is highly likely that completed one section with a problem another problem will pop up in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 24. Analysis Of Surprise By Jane Kenyon I Swear, It s Not What It Looks Like: Denial, Selective Perception, and Fear of Betrayal in Jane Kenyon s Surprise Television psychologists and pop culture self help gurus tell us that marriage is hard work; marriage is compromise; marriage is a choice between being right, and being happy. All of these statements are true. What these experts don t tell us, however, is that marriage is also about putting on blinders, or looking on the bright side, or one of a hundred other trite phrases to explain the art of self deception. In marriage, there are times when we may find it necessary to look the other way from our spouse s faults or indiscretions, in the interest of self preservation. For if we examine these problems too closely, our darkest, most secret fears may come true. Therefore, it can seem easier to focus on the positive. In her poem Surprise, Jane Kenyon uses denial, selective perception, and fear of betrayal to illustrate the self deception that can occur in marriage. The woman in Surprise is in denial about her husband s behavior. On the surface, the poem is about a woman whose husband gets her out of the house while their friends gather in secret for a birthday party. She goes along with his ruse of going out for breakfast, followed by a walk. She doesn t seem to be aware that a party is in the works, even though her friends are arriving, their cars pulled close along the sandy shoulders/ of the road (5 6). This willful blindness on her part ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Plaintiffs did use the proposed amended complaint to add two additional issues: Debit Routing and Durbin: New Claim for Relief. . Plaintiffs claim that Visa implemented new fees and policies after The Durbin Amendment went into effect at the end of 2011, including the Fixed Acquirer Network Fee (FANF) and the PIN Authenticated Visa Debit Mandate (PAVD), policies still in place, that frustrate debit competition. . Comparison between London and Atlanta Based Airlines How would the two airlines (London based and Atlanta based) be more reactive to the requirements of the patrons while upholding equally operational efficiency and effectiveness? Areas of concern 1. Environment. Clients have a higher standard on the London based airline because of its past performance for an exceptional service. Similarly, clients also presume that the high cost incurred should be recompensed by superb provisions. 2. Information technology structure. Bearing in mind the facts provided in the case, McPherson made a few suppositions that the airline flying to London should have acknowledged him from their computer as a short timed linking passenger, and that considering the premium price he paid for his plane ticket by a ... Hence, as the word super elaborate that supercomputers are usually used for the projects that needs to process large amount of data, at very high speed. Supercomputers not only has the high processing power; they are also huge in size. You need a big room to fit in a supercomputer, and a strong cooling system to avoid getting a supercomputer to get overheated. They usually have more than one CPU s to generate high level data processing speed, and they need to have a large storage as well. The unit system that are used to measure the computing performance of the supercomputer are FLOPS (Floating point Operation Per Second). The first ever supercomputer was made during the time of Second World War named Colossus . It was made by The Great Britain, specially to crack the coded messages of Germans. Colossus could read up to 5000 characters in a second. Colossus was the start of a revolution in supercomputing. Since 1944, more enhanced and powerful supercomputers were introduced for example MIT Whirlwind by MIT in 1950. Cray 1 designed by Seymour Cray in 1975. Seymour Cray was called the Father of Supercomputer . He founded Cray Research in 1972, which designs supercomputers.
