The United States Should Promote Democracy
I affirm Resolved: The United States ought to promote democracy in the Middle East Democracy is a
system of government by the whole population or all the eligible members of a state, and is one with
representative institutions and a rule of law. Observation 1: when we talk about promoting democracy,
there are many ways to carry out this promotion. The United States is not obligated to take one course
of action. Rather, the US can alter and adjust its approach to what is most suitable for that situation.
Different tools might be appropriate at different points of time as well as differing based on the
severity of the situation. The value is Justice, defined as giving each his due, for two reasons: 1) We
are debating about what specifically nations and citizens within that nation, specifically those in the
Middle East, are due and what they deserve. 2) The resolution specifically asks about the obligation of
the US, and obligations stem from justice and giving each his due. The value criterion is protecting
Liberty for two reasons: 1) Liberty is in inalienable right of each and every person, and is the pre
political concept that gives us intrinsic worth. 2) Freedom gives us the ability to choose our actions
and take them accordingly, and we are debating the actions most appropriate for the US. Contention 1:

The Effect Of Technique And Positional Release Therapy On...
My Research topic is a comparative study to evaluate the effectiveness of Bowen Technique and
Positional Release Therapy on Trapezitis.
Trapezitis is the inflammation of the trapezius muscle which gets aggravated by activity and even at
rest. It is a very common condition seen in practically most of the individuals. Trapezitis has serious
implications like neck pain, reduction in the range of motion, stiffness etc. It s very commonly seen in
students, people working for long time on computers, Excessive driving etc.
The positional release technique is one of the technique used in Physical Therapy which has been
proven to help Trapezitis. Bowen Technique is a soft tissue manipulation Technique which is also
found to be beneficial in pain reduction. There hasn t been a comparative study done on both the
techniques.Hence I would like to do a comparative study to see which is more effective in Trapezitis.
There is paucity in literature with regards to effectiveness of Bowens technique on Trapezitis.
The less number of research articles on this topic facilitated me to conduct a study on this topic. This
research study will help me clinically in applying the results of this study to my patients in the clinic.
The incidence of neck pain is 3 5% population worldwide. Hence it is very important that I know
which technique works the best so my patients will be benefited from it.

Cakeout Dagoie Saloon Analysis
The piece Stakeout by The Tango Saloon effectively uses instrumentation, harmony and rhythm to
convey character in the song.
The prominent use of organ in the piece contributes to the songs tense, foreboding character. The
dissonance created by the organ and the use of a rotary speaker creates a thick, unnatural and
disturbing timbre. The character of the song is also conveyed using auxiliary percussion. The ostinato
arpeggio played on the xylophone in the chorus, along with the tubular bell strikes, shakers and heavy
toms convey this character.
The use of harmony in the piece is one of the main elements that creates character in the piece. The
song focuses heavily on the harmony associated with the ii chord in the song s key of C minor;

Foreign Exchange Rate Sensitivity and Stock Price
FOREIGN EXCHANGE RATE SENSITIVITY AND STOCK PRICE : ESTIMATING ECONOMIC
EXPOSURE OF TURKISH COMPANIES
INTRODUCTION
Variability in exchange rate is a major source of macroeconomic uncertainity affecting firms. After the
1970 s, the rapid expansion in international trade and adoption of floating exchange rate regimes by
many countries led to increase exchange rate volatility. The firm s exposure to exchange rate risk
increased.
In the literature three types of exposure under floating exchange rate regimes are identified; economic,
translation and transaction. Translation and transaction exposures are accounting based and defined in
terms of the book values of assets and liabilities denominated in foreign currency. Economic exposure

His finding did not support that hypothesis. Firms did not benefit from a depreciation of the home
country. On the contrary a significant decline in their market share of industry was found in a
depreciation of the home currency.
Bodner and Gentry (1993) examined industry level exposures for three countries, Canada, Japan and
USA. They revealed that some industries in all three countries had significant exposure.
Choi and Prasad 1995 developed a model and examined the exchange rate sensitivity of 409 US
multinational firms. Their findings indicated that change in exchange rate affected firm value. They
found that 60 percent of firms had significant exchange rate exposure.
Domely and Sheehy (1996) found contemporaneous relation between the foreign exchange rate and
the market value of large exporters in their study.
Miller Reuer (1998) conducted a study on the implications of differences in strategy and industry
structure for firms economic exposures to foreign exchange rate movements. According to their
results, 13 17 % of US manufacturing firms exposed for foreign exchange rate movements. Also they
indicated that foreign direct investment reduces economic exposure to foreign exhange rate
movements.
Glaum, Brunner and Himmet (2000) examined the economic exposure of German corporations to
change in DM/US dolar exchange rate. They found that German firms are significantly exposed to

Wildlife Cons And Cons Of The United State Department Of...
Wildlife Crossings Pros and Cons In 2015, the Washington State Department of Transportation began
construction on a series of improvement to I 90, a key interstate that connects eastern and western
Washington. The project includes many measures to improve traveler safety and efficiency such as
avalanche bridges, expanded lanes, straightened curves, and replacement bridges (WSDOT I 90
Snoqualmie Pass East, 2016). However, in addition to those changes, they are also adding
controversial wildlife crossing structures to the interstate that are intended to allow wildlife to get
across the roadway safely without entering traffic. There are several benefits like improved genetic
diversity of our wildlife, less injuries and death from collisions with them, and lower economic costs
as result, but also many drawbacks such as high initial costs, predators exploiting the crossing
structures, and the crossing structures not being used by the animals they were intended for. Some of
the major benefits of the I 90 crossing structures are the increased genetic diversity of our wildlife,
lowering our costs from collisions and less injuries and death from collisions. With fewer collisions
with animals and allowing animals a safe way to cross the roadway, they are able to move more freely
and safely between various populations of their species (Doughton, 2015). This allows them to breed
with those they are not closely related to and makes the population more genetically diverse. Diversity

Calaveras Vinesyard Case

Calaveras Vineyards Case
Dear Dr. Lynna Martinez,
After reviewing your projections of Calaveras Vineyards, I used the adjusted present value method to
come up with the value of the company. With this method, I assume that the whole firm is financed
only through equity. Therefore, when calculating the free cash flow, debt was not taken into account.
Despite that, the net present value of interest shields is added back to compensate the debt in the
capital structure. With this method, the company is valued at $9.62 million.
In order to assess Calaveras value, I calculated the free cash flow from 1994 to 1998. The free cash
flow from each year derived from adding Earnings before Interest and Taxes, ... Show more content on

You were hired back then to develop and implement a strategy to lift the company out of the bulk
wine category and into the premium brand segment of the market. In addition to that, your resume is
stronger than the others. Your education is better than the others and you had a lot of experience in
directing the making of wine. Not only that you trained in family owned winery and distillery, but you
also gained a lot of experience in champagne and white wine technology at the Moet et Chandon
installation in Epernay when you took trips to Europe.
Please note that if you decide to buy the company, you might become more conservative. Currently,
you are the vice president/general manager and winemaker of Calaveras. If you buy the company as
proposed, you will own 85% of the company. This means that you will relate to the company in two
ways; as a manager, and also an owner. Therefore, I am assuming that you will become more
conservative because it s always better to expect less, so you wouldn t forecast too positively. A
reduction in forecasted real growth rate from 2% to 1 1.5% is what I am expecting you might do.
Thank you. Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
Best regards,

Microbial Regulation oin the Food Industry
Microbiology Topic Paper:
Microbial Regulation in the Food Industry
Microorganisms have been involved I the development of food items throughout history. Although at
first it may have not been intentional over time humans have study and experimented with culturing
microbes to prolong the shelf life of foods, inadvertently changing the taste and textures of the food
item as well. As safety concerns spread in the 1900s regulations were formed to ensure the safety and
well being of humans. In the United States, the U.S. Food and Drug Admiration is the organization
that determines the overall safeness of a food element.
When Microbes are used in food they tend to fall under two types of categories in the FDA regulatory
classifications. The first category would be the generally recognized as safe category or GRAS
published as a proposed rule in 1997. Microbes considered GRAS fall under multiple definitions. If a
microbe was utilized prior to 1958 as an additive with no apparent side effects and proven to be safe
over time, it will fall under GRAS via being grandfathered in. Another way in which a microbe
additive will be considered GRAS is through common knowledge. Common knowledge is the
assumed awareness that experts have in knowing that a microbe is naturally in the development in the
food process. For example if a microbe is naturally present in yogurt, such as S. thermophiles, then
supplementary amounts of the same microbes being added to the yogurt

Day and Night through a Mother s Eyes Essay
In Alice Walker s Everyday Use the reader is introduced to three main characters, a mother and her
two daughters. The first daughter, Maggie, still lives at home with her mother and is her companion.
Dee, however, moves on with life and goes out to make something of herself in the world. The story is
an account of one of Dee s visits, but the narrator, the mother, makes a very obvious comparison
between Dee and Maggie s looks, intelligence, behaviorism, and values. The reader has a lesson to
learn since the story is told through the mother s eyes. It is amazing that two siblings can grow up in
the same environment and turned out so differently. Dee and Maggie are like day and night, each with
her own strengths and weaknesses. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although she is jealous of her sister, Maggie more admires her than anything. It is, however, upsetting
that the narrator never suggests Dee has any admiration or respect for Maggie or herself, for that
matter. The story never even suggests that Dee feels sorry for Maggie, instead it can be interpreted that
Dee just looks down on her sister, as she does the rest of her family.
The reader can also learn about the girls from how they treat others. Just like everything else, they are
opposites. Dee would always look anyone in the eye. Hesitation was no part of her nature (92) while
Maggie walks chin on chest, eyes on ground, feet in shuffle (94). Mama also knows that while her
sister is there Maggie will be nervous and stand hopelessly in corners, homely and ashamed of the
burns scars down her arms and legs (92). While Maggie has always felt inferior, Dee seems haughty
and kind of has a superiority complex. Dee is also implied to be manipulative. Dee would read to her
mother and Maggie knowing it was literature beyond their comprehension just so she could show off.
She used to read to us without pit; forcing words, lies, other folks habits, whole lives upon us two. She
washed us in a river of make believe, burned us with a lot of knowledge we didn t necessarily need to
know (94). The phrase She read to them is repeated when talking about Dee around her friends and
boys that wanted to date her (95). However, in this context, it is hardly

A Lululemon ambassador is described as someone who embodies the lululemon lifestyle and lives the

The Consumer Protection Act ( 1986 )
INTRODUCTION TO THE CONSUMER PROTECTION ACT(1986)
The modern era is considered to be the era of consumers. No country can ever disregard the interest of
the consumers. This is best argued through the process of rapid enactment of consumer protection
laws throughout the world. In addition to consumer protection acts throughout the world, one can
easily find the rapidly rising rate of lawmaking for consumers in the developing countries like Sri
Lanka, Thailand, Philippines,Mongolia, Mauritius , China, Indonesia,Taiwan, Nepal, Malaysia and

Animal Food Products For The United States
According to ASPCA data 70 80 millions dogs are owned in the United States, which means that
between 37 47 percent of all American households have canine companions. Many of pet owners
consider their dogs members of their families and treat them accordingly. Therefore, dog owners
choose carefully from a large selection of pet foods avaliable on. However, it is not always easy to
recognize harmful ingredients in the food packages. With that many pets in the U.S some well known
companies that manufacture food for our four legged companions use cheap and harmful products.
One such company is Royal Canin. The company has been under attack lately for the use of
controversial ingredients in their food that make dogs sick. Royal Canin specializes in dog and cat dry
high nutrition food products for the high end market serving worldwide. The company was first
established by the veterinary surgeon Jean Cathary in 1967 in France and was aimed to treat skin and
coat conditions in pets with a new cereal based diet prepared in his garage. The demand for the
product increased and its supply extended further into the European market. Royal Canin is currently
owned by Mars, Inc., an American global manufacturer and its products occupy the best vantage point

The American Dream As A Good Life
For decades, the United States has embodied a sense of liberty and hope. Those who come to America
have the chance to fulfill their dreams, accumulate material wealth, and live a relatively pleasant life.
From the very beginning, the founding fathers claimed that it was our God given right to pursue
happiness and success. Success and happiness are only a few steps away from those who put their
heads down and work hard. This idea is commonly known as the American Dream. Furthermore,
many Christians today believe that they can achieve the American Dream while still following the
teachings of the Bible. God just wants us to be blessed with material possessions and wealth and live a
good life. However, a look at the Bible and the teachings of Jesus reveals an exceedingly different
view of how one should define a good life. While the American Dream dictates a life of prosperity and
individualist gain, Jesus commands a life of obedience and self sacrifice. Thus, it is impossible to
harmonize the ideas of the American dream with the teachings of the Bible.
The American Dream has numerous definitions that people have ascribed to it over the years. In his
book titled Nine Great American Myths, Pat Apel gives his definition of the American Dream:
The American Dream is the multicolored tapestry comprised of the many myths and stories of those
who have come before us to create our own success story. It is the worldview comprised of the myths
and stories which have portrayed the

Human Motivation and Mangement Skills
Many people get satisfaction from their work and take pride in what they do, while others may view it
as only as a mere way of survival. In an attempt to identify successful approaches to management,
theorists and social psychologists have expounded theories on human motivation and skills. Social
psychologist Douglas McGregor set forth two contrasting theories on human motivation and
management in the 1960 s: Theory X and the Theory Y. McGregor promoted Theory Y as the basis of
good management practice, pioneering the argument that workers are not merely pawns in the
company, as his Theory X type organizations seemed to believe (Cronkhite,2007). Both theories look
at how a manager s perceptions of what motivates his or her team members affect the way he or she
behaves allowing one to adapt their approach. McGregor s Theories X and Y Many people get the
satisfaction from their work and take great pride in it; while others may view it as a burden or simply a
means to survive. In attempts to identify successful approaches to management, social psychologist

What Is The Development Of Heathcliff In Wuthering Heights
This summer we had to read the book Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë. This paper will cover the
development in Heathcliff, how Catherine Earnshaw influenced other characters even though we didn
t meet her in the story, the symbolism shown in the novel, how Wuthering Heights fits into the
category of gothic fiction, as well as my own expert opinion of the story.
In the story Heathcliff is a pretty significant character. He is brought in by Mr. Earnshaw as an orphan
and is treated well by him. He then starts to fall in love with Mr. Earnshaw s daughter Catherine that
lasts the whole story. However, when Mr. Earnshaw dies, his son Hindley becomes in charge of the
house basically treats Heathcliff as a servant, he constantly looks down at him as if he is useless. So,
in the beginning of the story when Heathcliff is first introduced as a dirty orphan who is taken in by
Mr. Earnshaw who is instantly hated by Hindley because he feels his father loves Heathcliff more than
himself. This results in Hindley bullying Heathcliff as a child and when Mr. Earnshaw dies and he
becomes in charge to remember to flog him. At this point in the story and the first transformation of
Heathcliff he goes from being an orphan to being hated by Hindley and becoming his human punching
bag. The interesting thing about this is that Heathcliff just takes it he never really fights back or tell
Mr. Earnshaw he just gets up and goes about his business not even acknowledging that it happened.

However, the United States and Russia both appear to stand steadfast due to a fear of showing
weakness. However, eventually egos are set aside, and cooler heads prevail allowing the two nations
to begin talks of de escalating the situation. Now, each country is ready with a set of specific demands
for the other government to agree upon to allow negotiations to succeed. For instance, the Russian
Prime Minister demands that the United States agree not to invade Cuba after the Russian troops and
supplies pull back from the island (History.com Staff, 2009). Also, the United States President requires
that all Russian ballistic missiles return to their garrison base. Now, both countries agree to the initial
terms with little hesitation. However, later on, the Russian Prime Minister asks for an additional
condition of the United States; the Russian Prime Minister asks for all missiles that currently reside in
Turkey go back to the United States (Scott Smith, 1994, p.669). Consequently, President Kennedy
obliged to the request leading to a de escalation of the situation. Furthermore, the break of an all out
nuclear war aids in opening a new streamlined form of communications between the two nations to
enable prompt dialogs. Now, that there is a substantial explanation of international negotiations that
leads to the movement of each country s missiles and de escalation of the tensions,

How Did Industrialization Affect The Lives Of Industrial...
The era of 1865 to 1900 is known as the Gilded Age. The Gilded Age witnessed the industrialization
in the United States of America. The Second Industrial Revolution was also what it was known as due
to many technological advances. Industrialization substantially affected farmers and industrial
workers, along with other parts of American society. Consequently, they also responded to this newly
emerged situation.
When the first Transcontinental Railroad was built in the year 1869, all segments of society welcomed
it with enthusiasm. Farmers were very happy; they welcomed it happily and passionately because it
was in their interest. Transporting their agricultural products from one place to another was going to
be easier for them. Although some farmers were fruitful such as bonanza farms, many farmers were
struggling (Tindall, 621). They resented high railroad tariffs that were often considered remarkably
high which made it complicated for them because they had to sell their cotton on markets while
manufactured goods made in the United States had tariffs. Most farmers were stuck in a cycle of debt
and poverty.

Joseph Mccarthy Red Scare
Joseph McCarthy During the late 1940s and early 1950s, the idea of communist subversion was
becoming frighteningly real. These fears came to define and, in some cases, corrode the era s political

Joseph P. McCarthy of Wisconsin. McCarthy spent almost five years trying in vain to expose
communists and other left wing loyalty risks in the U.S. government. In February 1950, appearing at
the Ohio County Women s Republican Club in Wheeling, West Virginia, McCarthy gave a speech that

his second term as senator, McCarthy was put in charge of the Committee on Government Operations,
which allowed him to launch even more expansive investigations of the alleged communist infiltration

Comparing Cardiac Muscle And Brain Tissue
1) Comparing and contrasting cardiac Muscle tissue (figure a) and brain tissue (figure d)
Commonalities in the structures and functions of muscle tissue and brain tissue
In cardiac muscle, a single nucleus is located in the middle of each fibre. The brain tissue also has a
nucleus which is located in the middle of cell body. The cardiac muscle and brain tissue don t have the
exact same function. The cardiac muscle and the brain tissue don t work together because the cardiac
muscle doesn t takes any instructions from the brain tissue (Neurones). This means that the cardiac
muscle contracts automatically.
Differences in the structures, functions and location of muscle tissue and brain tissue
The cardiac muscle consists of long branched fibres. Whereas, the brain tissue has spider web like
structure. The cardiac muscle cell are made up of fibres. The function of cardiac muscle is to help the
heart to pump blood. The function of brain tissue is to send messages to and from the brain. The
cardiac muscle is present inside the heart. However, the brain tissue is located inside brain.

The Overall Affect Of School Cancellations On The Class...
One thing that I learned this week was the overall affect of school cancellations on the class syllabus.
Mr. Allen s strategy for me is to teach every day, but to use the majority of his content prepared and
lesson plans. However, with that being said, Mr. Allen and I have gone through each and every day to
plan the lessons until March 6th, which is when I leave. The difficulty that has arisen is the amount of
snow days that Brewer Community School has had. Last weeks two cancellations caused two very
important activities to have to be thrown out and modify the week. Mr. Allen plans his units to only
last a week and on Fridays, quizzes are taken to check for understanding. We were lucky that last
week only had two days worth of notes, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is both sad and frustrating, as there was a tremendous amount of work put in to the planning
process. In the beginning I was looking forward to snow days, as they seemed like a break from
teaching, but now I look at snow days and think how much of a head ache they are. It is nice to have a
day off from school, but the amount of work put into planning is essentially wasted and free time that
a teacher could have had is gone. Therefore, I am no praying that there are no more snow days and
even if I am ever a teacher, I hope there is not, as time is wasted and overall, all that a teacher gets out
of a snow day is a headache from frustration and re planning. Looking into the future, I believe that I
will plan mini lesson plans for early release days, morning delays and even try to modify lesson plans
for snow cancellations. Mr Allen, like myself, like to plan everything out and the thought of a class
going ahead of another would stress me out, so in the event of an early release, or even morning delay,
I believe that I will have lesson plans for this event that are connected to the material, but not
essential. For example, a lesson plan that has research time and then a class debate would be one.
While another example might be a current event lesson plan that introduces the class to a topic such as

Snow In August Essay
Once upon a dark and snowy Friday night, a mysterious man named Rabbi Hirsch came out of the
dark eeriness of his desolate and abandoned synagogue and asked a boy named Michael Devlin if he
could turn on the lights for him. Michael in the book Snow in August by Pete Hamill, at first hesitated,
but then he willfully did the task. This started a wonderful friendship between the two Brooklyn
residents that brought out the in best each other despite their different backgrounds. However, with the
relationship came some physical and emotional turmoil as a result of the Rabbi being Jewish and most
of Brooklyn being anti semitic, meaning that they are hostile towards Jews. This was evident when

Waiting for me (Hamill 324). Michael s willingness to do anything he could in real life and in his
brain for the Rabbi showed how he could use his creativity, generosity, and imagination for good as
opposed to for evil. When Michael was thinking that they were Waiting for me , it shows how Michael
was using his imagination for good to further bring out his positivity in thinking that Rabbi Hirsch
will, in fact, get better no matter how far gone and injured he may be. This connects to Michael s love
of comics such as Captain Marvel because it allows him to use his imagination to dream up heroes to
fulfill the happy ending that Michael dreams of and wishes for in times of distress and pain. This
shows that even though it may only seem possible for this to occur in one s imagination, for Michael,
a simple spoon in a ceramic box with Hebrew lettering would be the cure for widespread injustice,
abuse, and anti Semitism. When Michael finished following the Rabbi s instructions, a mythical
creature came alive who was called The Golem. This creature had human characteristics that were
entirely out of proportion compared to the rest of the human population. Meaning he was extremely
tall and muscular compared to even the most massive living human on planet earth. Another special
thing about the Golem was that he did not speak. He only used hand gestures and that was how he
communicated with Michael. But another thing that leads to believe that this

GREENoneTEC case analysis

Arnaud Work presented to: Anna Thomasson Ola Mattisson BUSINESS POLICY FEKH11
Wednesday, March 18th 2015 To be able to help GREENoneTEC management to develop the
company, we need to analyze the product and company first. The company is part of the solar industry
and went from a one man business into one of the industry leaders in manufacturing flat plate solar
thermal collectors for water heating. In 2003, Kioto became GREENoneTEC s sister company by
manufacturing photovoltaics modules. The plan was to exploit all opportunities of the market.

Finally, we can point out another main challenge for GREENoneTEC that is the rise of raw material
costs which have extremely increased since 1995 (the price of copper had increased by more than 150
percent in 16 years for example). Thus our company has to deal with this increase by looking for
opportunities to reduce the costs of production. It can play on economic scale, searching new suppliers
less expensive or even changing the conception of its products with different raw materials. We can
notice that GREENoneTEC is facing challenges related to the Asian competition, to the search of new
customers and to the lowering of its costs of production. The company needs to confront these
challenges to stand out from the other companies on the solar market and to ensure its permanence.
Solar industry The solar industry is divided in three main markets: the European solar thermal market,
the Chinese market and the market in other world regions. The industry is segmented in two main
types of solar thermal collectors, which are evacuated tube collectors (80 per cent on average of the
worldwide newly installed capacity in 2010) and flat plate collectors (20 per cent on average). This
industry is characteristic of technology intensive industries with their central innovation: solar thermal
water heating which radically reduces costs. They can also count on experimented installers. Each

Being The Baby Of The Family
Being the baby of the family seems to automatically qualify me to be unaware of what the real world
is all about and the responsibilities of being an adult. For years I take insults my older sister, Jessica
who is now twenty three, would tell me because what she said was nothing but the truth. Like Jessica,
my father, Fernando, also nagged me about getting employed. Only my mother, Bertha, supported me
in not getting a job and rather focus fully on academics. Anger began to accumulate within me until
one day I simply could not support it anymore. Clearly to them I was a burden, which gave me that
extra inner fire to call and make my first ever job interview happen. Even with a job, though, all the
badgering would not seize.
Lets start from the beginning, where everything truly began. Years back Jessica began to rebel like any
other teen, never ending well. Seeing my parents suffer because of her made me realize that I did not
would not put them in that kind of situation. At a young age I began to act mature, responsible even,
but it seemed like a funny joke to them. Only at nine years of age I began to clean the house, cook
dinner, and still keep up with homework. Truthfully, I knew nothing about the adult problems, still did
not make me naïve about what was to come in my later years.
Vanessa, Jessica come sit down please. I want to tell you girls something, my father yelled at us from
the kitchen.
Jessica replied, What do you want?

1950 s Sociology
The 1950 s saw a boom in the development of suburbs to counter the post World War 2 housing
shortage problem as living in the suburbs offered an alternative to the overcrowded cities. This
phenomenon coincided with the significant growth of the American economy, which granted the
people stronger purchasing power to own a big house in the suburbs and the confidence to improve
their socioeconomic status. Consequently, the suburban lifestyle came to be associated with strong
familial ties and upward social mobility, which can be defined as the American ideals of the 1950 s. It
is important to note that the media had a very significant role in shaping these ideals, mainly through
situational comedies (sitcoms) on television and advertisement, both ... Show more content on

This was largely due to the lack of representation of other groups of people such as the African
Americans, homosexuals and Americans from a lower socioeconomic status. In the area of race for
example, most sitcoms in the 1950 s such as I Love Lucy (1951) and The Honeymooners (1956)
mainly featured white characters, with little or no mention of other races. Set in a wider context, these
American ideals coincided with the Civil Rights Movement (1954) which sought to end racial
discrimination and segregation, therefore highlighting how these ideals did not encompass Americans
from all walks of life but only the white majority. Hence in leaving out Americans from other racial
and social groups, the media mostly shaped only the American ideals of the white majority as it failed

Culture
I think culture, simply is what remains after the various historical cycles. Through each of the
development cycle, people interact with others and developing a new culture. Culture is an objective
phenomenon, an integration of all aspects of life. Even the smallest aspects of life have a culture. It
was suggested that the ongoing world phenomenon of cultural invasion is the result of aggression by
firearm and economic. I disagree with that theory because to me, culture is peace, culture is not
aggression. The integration of cultural aspects is the process of people finding a common language for
a common life. The concept of cultural invasion is the notion of the community who have experienced
only formed in relations, development and the experience of war, especially the Cold War. In the
Western culture homes of Americans, British, French we will see souvenirs from the orient.
Sometimes in Western societies people tend to see the existence of a few souvenirs and ornaments
from the East as a sign of elite or civilized. That is intertwined of life, it is the peaceful coexistence of
the past, and there is also the cultural basis of peaceful coexistence in the future.
Typically, civilization is used to indicate the level of development of physical and human spirit to a

Coral Island In Lord Of The Flies
Lord of the Flies starts off with these group of schoolboys lost and confused on an deserted island.
The boys were on a plane on their way to a safe spot because of the nuclear age but suddenly went
down and landed on an island. With the plane going down the adults were in the front, and when the
plane split in two the front of the plane landed in the water. The boys looked around but the adults
were nowhere to be found. Eventually with time, the boys found out who the major leaders are and
who were the weak. With no parent supervision, the boys would have to step up and lead the younger
ones while getting food and shelter all together. Ralph and Jack are great leaders and have routines set

Dealing With The Contract Renewal Negotiations
Joe has received an invitation from Bill owner of Peninsula Hotel Chain, for him and his wife to come
enjoy the weather and to catch. Joe didn t immediately accept the invitation, because in some way, he
was feeling a bit intimidated by the remark Bill had previously made concerning, the proposed
reduction being offered by the competitors. Joe is undecided at this point into he should accept the
offer, or pass. It also appears that Joe Company is aware of the relationship between Joe and Bill,
something they have not tried to intervene, because of the pass contract negation Joe reduced the price
and won the bid however, it was not without consequences for him. I feel the predicament Joe is
facing, is will this invitation border on conflict of interest, and if so how can I ethical continue with
the contract renewal negotiations? How should Joe respond to Bill s invitation? We have come to
understand that Joe and Bill have had an excellent working relationship, which has been going on
since the previous year. During this time a contract was agreed upon, Joe and Bill maintained a social
relationship as well. It was not till recently with contract renewal has the business aspect affected their
social interactions. Again, I believe this will and have caused friction; both men are professional and

Legalization Of Drugs
Nonetheless, does legalization of illegal products, such as drugs, diminish black market activity?
James Q. Wilson, a former professor at UCLA and Harvard, stated in one of his columns Our federal
drug laws are irrational, readers then demanded him that we should solve this problem by legalizing
drugs (Wilson). It would be so simple and easy if the legalization of drugs could only work to solve
our nation s black market drug problem. However, this has not worked in any of the cases that have
been tried. In Colorado, where marijuana is legal, growers were growing marijuana and shipping it to
other states where it is illegal. Even though it is legal in nine states, these growers are still selling it on
the black market to avoid the legal regulation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Our Government should not legalize illegal black market drugs such as heroin, cocaine, and
methamphetamine because it does not diminish the black market s drug organization, it only makes it
easier for them to not get caught and easier for the population to access these drugs.
If legalization of dangerous drugs such as cocaine, methamphetamine, and heroin occurs, they will
become cheaper to buy and that will make it so much easier for users to get the product. Now if illegal
drugs became legal and the price becomes cheaper, anybody could get these highly dangerous drugs.
Many of the American population would oppose this idea because it is a possible harm to their lives
and others. While the black market sells these chemicals for more money, the prices there are also
becoming cheaper. Moreover, many who think that legalization will stop the black market from selling
products because the price is lower is wrong, that is not the case. In Colorado, marijuana growers were
caught selling marijuana to people in states where the drug is illegal. They do this to avoid the

Statement Of Purpose Of The Naval Academy
The most difficult question every teenager gets asked is, What do you plan on doing after High
School? I always said, I want to see the world! I want to be successful in whatever career I choose.
When I contemplate why I say this, I come to realize that I live for the challenges in life. I live to
experience the entire world and to leave a legacy behind. A legacy that would be remembered for
generations. When I was a young child, I heard of the US Navy and the Naval Academy from all the
intriguing stories my grandfather used to tell me. He gave in depth descriptions of the images he saw
in the service. The sunrises that he experienced on the edge of the Cua Viet River when assigned to
Assault Craft Unit One. He describes the sounds of gunfire zooming past his head and the birds
chirping every morning. Since I heard these experience s, I have been inspired to attend an academy
and allow it to give me the chance to create my own stories and experiences. The Naval Academy
sparked a strong interest in me because it can give me an opportunity to face experiences in a new
perspective and start to develope my own novels and tales. The life I have growing up in ... Show

Linear Spirometry Lab Report
Thirteen adult subjects (five male and eight female) 19 23 years of age were gathered to perform a
forced expiratory volume (FVC) maneuver and have pulmonary testing conducted during increasing
intensity exercise. Respiratory measures for tidal flow volume loops were measured using pulmonary
spirometry. For this experiment, an MC TA 200V Metabolic Cart was used to collect data. The
equipment was setup as follows: a sterilized mouthpiece was attached to a filter configured with one
way valves to ensure only inspired air came in to the system from the outside and the expired air was
sent to the apparatus. Upon configuring the mouthpiece, it was attached to clean bore tubing, which
was then connected to the flow head. From the flow head, two tubes separately connect to the
spirometry pod. Before the first subject performed their trials, the spirometry pod was zeroed once. If
an additional file was used in LabChart for a new subject it would be zeroed an additional time. It was
important to ensure that the data being placed into the LabChart data pad contained the first traces of
both channels. Once the subject had the mouthpiece inserted in their mouth and nose plugs were ...

Summary Of Alfred Hitchcock s Rope
Film innovator and auteur Alfred Hitchcock is renowned for his genius in building tension, fear and
suspense throughout his films. Hitchcock used visual cinema techniques including cinematography,
symbolism and colour in films such as Rope and Vertigo to invoke a response from his audience.
Hitchcock wanted us to identify with the psychological and physical situations that his protagonists
and antagonists experience.
In Rope, Hitchcock uses innovative cinematography techniques so that the audience feel as if they are
a part of the unfolding drama. The camera work is choreographed so that the action is filmed in one
continuous shot. In this way, in Rope Hitchcock attempted to create the effect of a live stage show.
The effect of the real time footage has the result upon the audience of a constant unrelenting sense of
uncertainty and suspense that anything could happen at any time, such as a dinner guest opening the
chest containing the body of David. Because the audience is constantly on edge, their reactions, such
as fear, are heightened. The camera journeys through the unfolding drama in a point of view style that
is immediate and personal in terms of the characters and objects Hitchcock wants his audience to see.
This camera movement not only gives the audience a sense of involvement, but creates a sensation of
unease and claustrophobia in their minds. Due to the close up cinematography, the audience becomes
drawn into the film, feeling as if they are experiencing the

Euro
1. What is the euro?
The euro is the currency that is used by these European Union countries: Belgium, Greece, Cyprus,
Spain, Germany, Italy, Ireland, Malta, Austria, Luxembourg, Finland, Portugal, the Netherlands,
Slovenia, and France.
2. What does the symbol mean?
The symbol means the same as the $ dollar for Canadian currency. The deeper meaning for the euro
symbol is that it means stability (the two parallel lines across the symbol) and Europe (the symbol
represents an E in Greek).
3. When did the euro replace the old currencies in the member countries?
The euro completely replaced the old currencies in the member countries in January 1, 2002 but was
introduced in January 1, 1999.

This is because these stable currency countries have been given an artificially weak currency meaning
that their exports are more competitive globally. As well, it has widened these countries market since
most of their exports go to the countries who also use the euro, not the entire European Union s free
trade places as the euro makes transactions more efficient (it eliminates the foreign exchange risk).
5. What economic advantages do participating member states enjoy over non participating members?
The economic advantages that participating member states enjoy over non participating members are
low inflation (due to its stability), more price transparency (consumers can compare prices more
easily), less currency exchange costs, a more powerful global voice, protection from external
economic shocks (ex. an unexpected rise in oil prices), easier travelling within the European Union,
and more international trade (the low currency value increases the competitiveness of these countries
exports and this currency has a higher total stability).
6. Why did the United Kingdom not adopt the

  • 2. The United States Should Promote Democracy I affirm Resolved: The United States ought to promote democracy in the Middle East Democracy is a system of government by the whole population or all the eligible members of a state, and is one with representative institutions and a rule of law. Observation 1: when we talk about promoting democracy, there are many ways to carry out this promotion. The United States is not obligated to take one course of action. Rather, the US can alter and adjust its approach to what is most suitable for that situation. Different tools might be appropriate at different points of time as well as differing based on the severity of the situation. The value is Justice, defined as giving each his due, for two reasons: 1) We are debating about what specifically nations and citizens within that nation, specifically those in the Middle East, are due and what they deserve. 2) The resolution specifically asks about the obligation of the US, and obligations stem from justice and giving each his due. The value criterion is protecting Liberty for two reasons: 1) Liberty is in inalienable right of each and every person, and is the pre political concept that gives us intrinsic worth. 2) Freedom gives us the ability to choose our actions and take them accordingly, and we are debating the actions most appropriate for the US. Contention 1: Promoting democracy protects the liberty of the citizens of the Middle East and US Sub point A: Promoting democracy reduces terrorism Sam Choi from the ... • 3. The Effect Of Technique And Positional Release Therapy On... My Research topic is a comparative study to evaluate the effectiveness of Bowen Technique and Positional Release Therapy on Trapezitis. Trapezitis is the inflammation of the trapezius muscle which gets aggravated by activity and even at rest. It is a very common condition seen in practically most of the individuals. Trapezitis has serious implications like neck pain, reduction in the range of motion, stiffness etc. It s very commonly seen in students, people working for long time on computers, Excessive driving etc. The positional release technique is one of the technique used in Physical Therapy which has been proven to help Trapezitis. Bowen Technique is a soft tissue manipulation Technique which is also found to be beneficial in pain reduction. There hasn t been a comparative study done on both the techniques.Hence I would like to do a comparative study to see which is more effective in Trapezitis. There is paucity in literature with regards to effectiveness of Bowens technique on Trapezitis. The less number of research articles on this topic facilitated me to conduct a study on this topic. This research study will help me clinically in applying the results of this study to my patients in the clinic. The incidence of neck pain is 3 5% population worldwide. Hence it is very important that I know which technique works the best so my patients will be benefited from it. • 4. Cakeout Dagoie Saloon Analysis The piece Stakeout by The Tango Saloon effectively uses instrumentation, harmony and rhythm to convey character in the song. The prominent use of organ in the piece contributes to the songs tense, foreboding character. The dissonance created by the organ and the use of a rotary speaker creates a thick, unnatural and disturbing timbre. The character of the song is also conveyed using auxiliary percussion. The ostinato arpeggio played on the xylophone in the chorus, along with the tubular bell strikes, shakers and heavy toms convey this character. The use of harmony in the piece is one of the main elements that creates character in the piece. The song focuses heavily on the harmony associated with the ii chord in the song s key of C minor; ... • 5. Foreign Exchange Rate Sensitivity and Stock Price FOREIGN EXCHANGE RATE SENSITIVITY AND STOCK PRICE : ESTIMATING ECONOMIC EXPOSURE OF TURKISH COMPANIES INTRODUCTION Variability in exchange rate is a major source of macroeconomic uncertainity affecting firms. After the 1970 s, the rapid expansion in international trade and adoption of floating exchange rate regimes by many countries led to increase exchange rate volatility. The firm s exposure to exchange rate risk increased. In the literature three types of exposure under floating exchange rate regimes are identified; economic, translation and transaction. Translation and transaction exposures are accounting based and defined in terms of the book values of assets and liabilities denominated in foreign currency. Economic exposure is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... His finding did not support that hypothesis. Firms did not benefit from a depreciation of the home country. On the contrary a significant decline in their market share of industry was found in a depreciation of the home currency. Bodner and Gentry (1993) examined industry level exposures for three countries, Canada, Japan and USA. They revealed that some industries in all three countries had significant exposure. Choi and Prasad 1995 developed a model and examined the exchange rate sensitivity of 409 US multinational firms. Their findings indicated that change in exchange rate affected firm value. They found that 60 percent of firms had significant exchange rate exposure. Domely and Sheehy (1996) found contemporaneous relation between the foreign exchange rate and the market value of large exporters in their study. Miller Reuer (1998) conducted a study on the implications of differences in strategy and industry structure for firms economic exposures to foreign exchange rate movements. • 6. Wildlife Cons And Cons Of The United State Department Of... Wildlife Crossings Pros and Cons In 2015, the Washington State Department of Transportation began construction on a series of improvement to I 90, a key interstate that connects eastern and western Washington. The project includes many measures to improve traveler safety and efficiency such as avalanche bridges, expanded lanes, straightened curves, and replacement bridges (WSDOT I 90 Snoqualmie Pass East, 2016). However, in addition to those changes, they are also adding controversial wildlife crossing structures to the interstate that are intended to allow wildlife to get across the roadway safely without entering traffic. There are several benefits like improved genetic diversity of our wildlife, less injuries and death from collisions with them, and lower economic costs as result, but also many drawbacks such as high initial costs, predators exploiting the crossing structures, and the crossing structures not being used by the animals they were intended for. Some of the major benefits of the I 90 crossing structures are the increased genetic diversity of our wildlife, lowering our costs from collisions and less injuries and death from collisions. With fewer collisions with animals and allowing animals a safe way to cross the roadway, they are able to move more freely and safely between various populations of their species (Doughton, 2015). This allows them to breed with those they are not closely related to and makes the population more genetically diverse. Diversity in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Calaveras Vinesyard Case Warute Phanthumkmol Calaveras Vineyards Case Dear Dr. Lynna Martinez, After reviewing your projections of Calaveras Vineyards, I used the adjusted present value method to come up with the value of the company. With this method, I assume that the whole firm is financed only through equity. Therefore, when calculating the free cash flow, debt was not taken into account. Despite that, the net present value of interest shields is added back to compensate the debt in the capital structure. With this method, the company is valued at $9.62 million. In order to assess Calaveras value, I calculated the free cash flow from 1994 to 1998. The free cash flow from each year derived from adding Earnings before Interest and Taxes, ... Not only that you trained in family owned winery and distillery, but you also gained a lot of experience in champagne and white wine technology at the Moet et Chandon installation in Epernay when you took trips to Europe. Please note that if you decide to buy the company, you might become more conservative. Currently, you are the vice president/general manager and winemaker of Calaveras. If you buy the company as proposed, you will own 85% of the company. This means that you will relate to the company in two ways; as a manager, and also an owner. Therefore, I am assuming that you will become more conservative because it s always better to expect less, so you wouldn t forecast too positively. • 8. Microbial Regulation oin the Food Industry Microbiology Topic Paper: Microbial Regulation in the Food Industry Microorganisms have been involved I the development of food items throughout history. Although at first it may have not been intentional over time humans have study and experimented with culturing microbes to prolong the shelf life of foods, inadvertently changing the taste and textures of the food item as well. As safety concerns spread in the 1900s regulations were formed to ensure the safety and well being of humans. In the United States, the U.S. Food and Drug Admiration is the organization that determines the overall safeness of a food element. When Microbes are used in food they tend to fall under two types of categories in the FDA regulatory classifications. The first category would be the generally recognized as safe category or GRAS published as a proposed rule in 1997. Microbes considered GRAS fall under multiple definitions. If a microbe was utilized prior to 1958 as an additive with no apparent side effects and proven to be safe over time, it will fall under GRAS via being grandfathered in. Another way in which a microbe additive will be considered GRAS is through common knowledge. Common knowledge is the assumed awareness that experts have in knowing that a microbe is naturally in the development in the food process. For example if a microbe is naturally present in yogurt, such as S. thermophiles, then supplementary amounts of the same microbes being added to the yogurt ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The first daughter, Maggie, still lives at home with her mother and is her companion. Dee, however, moves on with life and goes out to make something of herself in the world. The story is an account of one of Dee s visits, but the narrator, the mother, makes a very obvious comparison between Dee and Maggie s looks, intelligence, behaviorism, and values. The reader has a lesson to learn since the story is told through the mother s eyes. It is amazing that two siblings can grow up in the same environment and turned out so differently. The reader can also learn about the girls from how they treat others. Just like everything else, they are opposites. Dee would always look anyone in the eye. Hesitation was no part of her nature (92) while Maggie walks chin on chest, eyes on ground, feet in shuffle (94). Mama also knows that while her sister is there Maggie will be nervous and stand hopelessly in corners, homely and ashamed of the burns scars down her arms and legs (92). While Maggie has always felt inferior, Dee seems haughty and kind of has a superiority complex. Dee is also implied to be manipulative. Dee would read to her mother and Maggie knowing it was literature beyond their comprehension just so she could show off. • 13. The American Dream As A Good Life For decades, the United States has embodied a sense of liberty and hope. Those who come to America have the chance to fulfill their dreams, accumulate material wealth, and live a relatively pleasant life. From the very beginning, the founding fathers claimed that it was our God given right to pursue happiness and success. Success and happiness are only a few steps away from those who put their heads down and work hard. This idea is commonly known as the American Dream. Furthermore, many Christians today believe that they can achieve the American Dream while still following the teachings of the Bible. God just wants us to be blessed with material possessions and wealth and live a good life. However, a look at the Bible and the teachings of Jesus reveals an exceedingly different view of how one should define a good life. While the American Dream dictates a life of prosperity and individualist gain, Jesus commands a life of obedience and self sacrifice. Thus, it is impossible to harmonize the ideas of the American dream with the teachings of the Bible. The American Dream has numerous definitions that people have ascribed to it over the years. In his book titled Nine Great American Myths, Pat Apel gives his definition of the American Dream: The American Dream is the multicolored tapestry comprised of the many myths and stories of those who have come before us to create our own success story. In an attempt to identify successful approaches to management, theorists and social psychologists have expounded theories on human motivation and skills. Social psychologist Douglas McGregor set forth two contrasting theories on human motivation and management in the 1960 s: Theory X and the Theory Y. McGregor promoted Theory Y as the basis of good management practice, pioneering the argument that workers are not merely pawns in the company, as his Theory X type organizations seemed to believe (Cronkhite,2007). Both theories look at how a manager s perceptions of what motivates his or her team members affect the way he or she behaves allowing one to adapt their approach. • 16. What Is The Development Of Heathcliff In Wuthering Heights This summer we had to read the book Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë. This paper will cover the development in Heathcliff, how Catherine Earnshaw influenced other characters even though we didn t meet her in the story, the symbolism shown in the novel, how Wuthering Heights fits into the category of gothic fiction, as well as my own expert opinion of the story. In the story Heathcliff is a pretty significant character. He is brought in by Mr. Earnshaw as an orphan and is treated well by him. He then starts to fall in love with Mr. Earnshaw s daughter Catherine that lasts the whole story. However, when Mr. Earnshaw dies, his son Hindley becomes in charge of the house basically treats Heathcliff as a servant, he constantly looks down at him as if he is useless. So, in the beginning of the story when Heathcliff is first introduced as a dirty orphan who is taken in by Mr. Earnshaw who is instantly hated by Hindley because he feels his father loves Heathcliff more than himself. This results in Hindley bullying Heathcliff as a child and when Mr. Earnshaw dies and he becomes in charge to remember to flog him. At this point in the story and the first transformation of Heathcliff he goes from being an orphan to being hated by Hindley and becoming his human punching bag. The interesting thing about this is that Heathcliff just takes it he never really fights back or tell Mr. Earnshaw he just gets up and goes about his business not even acknowledging that it happened. ... The Second Industrial Revolution was also what it was known as due to many technological advances. Industrialization substantially affected farmers and industrial workers, along with other parts of American society. Consequently, they also responded to this newly emerged situation. When the first Transcontinental Railroad was built in the year 1869, all segments of society welcomed it with enthusiasm. Farmers were very happy; they welcomed it happily and passionately because it was in their interest. Transporting their agricultural products from one place to another was going to be easier for them. Although some farmers were fruitful such as bonanza farms, many farmers were struggling (Tindall, 621). They resented high railroad tariffs that were often considered remarkably high which made it complicated for them because they had to sell their cotton on markets while manufactured goods made in the United States had tariffs. Mr. Allen s strategy for me is to teach every day, but to use the majority of his content prepared and lesson plans. However, with that being said, Mr. Allen and I have gone through each and every day to plan the lessons until March 6th, which is when I leave. The difficulty that has arisen is the amount of snow days that Brewer Community School has had. Last weeks two cancellations caused two very important activities to have to be thrown out and modify the week. Mr. Allen plans his units to only last a week and on Fridays, quizzes are taken to check for understanding. We were lucky that last week only had two days worth of notes, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is both sad and frustrating, as there was a tremendous amount of work put in to the planning process. In the beginning I was looking forward to snow days, as they seemed like a break from teaching, but now I look at snow days and think how much of a head ache they are. It is nice to have a day off from school, but the amount of work put into planning is essentially wasted and free time that a teacher could have had is gone. Therefore, I am no praying that there are no more snow days and even if I am ever a teacher, I hope there is not, as time is wasted and overall, all that a teacher gets out of a snow day is a headache from frustration and re planning. Looking into the future, I believe that I will plan mini lesson plans for early release days, morning delays and even try to modify lesson plans for snow cancellations. Mr Allen, like myself, like to plan everything out and the thought of a class going ahead of another would stress me out, so in the event of an early release, or even morning delay, I believe that I will have lesson plans for this event that are connected to the material, but not essential. For example, a lesson plan that has research time and then a class debate would be one. While another example might be a current event lesson plan that introduces the class to a topic such as ISIS or the events ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 23. Snow In August Essay Once upon a dark and snowy Friday night, a mysterious man named Rabbi Hirsch came out of the dark eeriness of his desolate and abandoned synagogue and asked a boy named Michael Devlin if he could turn on the lights for him. Michael in the book Snow in August by Pete Hamill, at first hesitated, but then he willfully did the task. This started a wonderful friendship between the two Brooklyn residents that brought out the in best each other despite their different backgrounds. However, with the relationship came some physical and emotional turmoil as a result of the Rabbi being Jewish and most of Brooklyn being anti semitic, meaning that they are hostile towards Jews. Michael s willingness to do anything he could in real life and in his brain for the Rabbi showed how he could use his creativity, generosity, and imagination for good as opposed to for evil. When Michael was thinking that they were Waiting for me , it shows how Michael was using his imagination for good to further bring out his positivity in thinking that Rabbi Hirsch will, in fact, get better no matter how far gone and injured he may be. This connects to Michael s love of comics such as Captain Marvel because it allows him to use his imagination to dream up heroes to fulfill the happy ending that Michael dreams of and wishes for in times of distress and pain. This shows that even though it may only seem possible for this to occur in one s imagination, for Michael, a simple spoon in a ceramic box with Hebrew lettering would be the cure for widespread injustice, abuse, and anti Semitism. When Michael finished following the Rabbi s instructions, a mythical creature came alive who was called The Golem. This creature had human characteristics that were entirely out of proportion compared to the rest of the human population. Meaning he was extremely tall and muscular compared to even the most massive living human on planet earth. Another special thing about the Golem was that he did not speak. He only used hand gestures and that was how he communicated with Michael. But another thing that leads to believe that this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Finally, we can point out another main challenge for GREENoneTEC that is the rise of raw material costs which have extremely increased since 1995 (the price of copper had increased by more than 150 percent in 16 years for example). Thus our company has to deal with this increase by looking for opportunities to reduce the costs of production. It can play on economic scale, searching new suppliers less expensive or even changing the conception of its products with different raw materials. We can notice that GREENoneTEC is facing challenges related to the Asian competition, to the search of new customers and to the lowering of its costs of production. The company needs to confront these challenges to stand out from the other companies on the solar market and to ensure its permanence. Solar industry The solar industry is divided in three main markets: the European solar thermal market, the Chinese market and the market in other world regions. The industry is segmented in two main types of solar thermal collectors, which are evacuated tube collectors (80 per cent on average of the worldwide newly installed capacity in 2010) and flat plate collectors (20 per cent on average). For years I take insults my older sister, Jessica who is now twenty three, would tell me because what she said was nothing but the truth. Like Jessica, my father, Fernando, also nagged me about getting employed. Only my mother, Bertha, supported me in not getting a job and rather focus fully on academics. Anger began to accumulate within me until one day I simply could not support it anymore. Clearly to them I was a burden, which gave me that extra inner fire to call and make my first ever job interview happen. Even with a job, though, all the badgering would not seize. Lets start from the beginning, where everything truly began. Years back Jessica began to rebel like any other teen, never ending well. Seeing my parents suffer because of her made me realize that I did not would not put them in that kind of situation. At a young age I began to act mature, responsible even, but it seemed like a funny joke to them. Only at nine years of age I began to clean the house, cook dinner, and still keep up with homework. Truthfully, I knew nothing about the adult problems, still did not make me naïve about what was to come in my later years. Vanessa, Jessica come sit down please. This phenomenon coincided with the significant growth of the American economy, which granted the people stronger purchasing power to own a big house in the suburbs and the confidence to improve their socioeconomic status. Consequently, the suburban lifestyle came to be associated with strong familial ties and upward social mobility, which can be defined as the American ideals of the 1950 s. It is important to note that the media had a very significant role in shaping these ideals, mainly through situational comedies (sitcoms) on television and advertisement, both ... Communication And Conflict Resolution For Criminal Justice Brandman University Communication and Conflict Resolution for Criminal Justice CJCU 432 RESEARCH EXERCISE 2 CULTURE Professor Peter Jaske November 29, 2015 Phuong Le Culture I think culture, simply is what remains after the various historical cycles. Through each of the development cycle, people interact with others and developing a new culture. Culture is an objective phenomenon, an integration of all aspects of life. Even the smallest aspects of life have a culture. It was suggested that the ongoing world phenomenon of cultural invasion is the result of aggression by firearm and economic. I disagree with that theory because to me, culture is peace, culture is not aggression. The integration of cultural aspects is the process of people finding a common language for a common life. The concept of cultural invasion is the notion of the community who have experienced only formed in relations, development and the experience of war, especially the Cold War. In the Western culture homes of Americans, British, French we will see souvenirs from the orient. Sometimes in Western societies people tend to see the existence of a few souvenirs and ornaments from the East as a sign of elite or civilized. Wilson, a former professor at UCLA and Harvard, stated in one of his columns Our federal drug laws are irrational, readers then demanded him that we should solve this problem by legalizing drugs (Wilson). It would be so simple and easy if the legalization of drugs could only work to solve our nation s black market drug problem. However, this has not worked in any of the cases that have been tried. Now if illegal drugs became legal and the price becomes cheaper, anybody could get these highly dangerous drugs. Many of the American population would oppose this idea because it is a possible harm to their lives and others. Linear Spirometry Lab Report Thirteen adult subjects (five male and eight female) 19 23 years of age were gathered to perform a forced expiratory volume (FVC) maneuver and have pulmonary testing conducted during increasing intensity exercise. Respiratory measures for tidal flow volume loops were measured using pulmonary spirometry. For this experiment, an MC TA 200V Metabolic Cart was used to collect data. The equipment was setup as follows: a sterilized mouthpiece was attached to a filter configured with one way valves to ensure only inspired air came in to the system from the outside and the expired air was sent to the apparatus. Upon configuring the mouthpiece, it was attached to clean bore tubing, which was then connected to the flow head. From the flow head, two tubes separately connect to the spirometry pod. Before the first subject performed their trials, the spirometry pod was zeroed once. If an additional file was used in LabChart for a new subject it would be zeroed an additional time. • 35. Summary Of Alfred Hitchcock s Rope Film innovator and auteur Alfred Hitchcock is renowned for his genius in building tension, fear and suspense throughout his films. Hitchcock used visual cinema techniques including cinematography, symbolism and colour in films such as Rope and Vertigo to invoke a response from his audience. Hitchcock wanted us to identify with the psychological and physical situations that his protagonists and antagonists experience. In Rope, Hitchcock uses innovative cinematography techniques so that the audience feel as if they are a part of the unfolding drama. The camera work is choreographed so that the action is filmed in one continuous shot. In this way, in Rope Hitchcock attempted to create the effect of a live stage show. The effect of the real time footage has the result upon the audience of a constant unrelenting sense of uncertainty and suspense that anything could happen at any time, such as a dinner guest opening the chest containing the body of David. Because the audience is constantly on edge, their reactions, such as fear, are heightened. The camera journeys through the unfolding drama in a point of view style that is immediate and personal in terms of the characters and objects Hitchcock wants his audience to see. This camera movement not only gives the audience a sense of involvement, but creates a sensation of unease and claustrophobia in their minds. Due to the close up cinematography, the audience becomes drawn into the film, feeling as if they are experiencing the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
