Modern Chicano Theater, By Luis Valdez Is Best Known As...
Ibrahim Aldosaimani Luis Valdez 1940 Considered the originator of modern Chicano theater, Valdez
is best known as the founding director of El Teatro Campesino, a seminal grassroots theater group
initially formed to convince California migrant farmworkers of the value of unionization. Valdez, who
writes some works in English and others in a blend of English and Spanish, is credited with having
provided momentum to the Chicano theater movement through his highly vivid style and his ability to
place the Chicano experience within a universal American framework. BIOGRAPHICAL
INFORMATION Born into a family of migrant farmworkers in Delano, California, Valdez began
working in the fields at six years of age. Although his education was frequently interrupted by his
family s constant travel, Valdez finished high school and subsequently attended San Jose State
College. After graduating in 1964 Valdez joined the San Francisco Mime Troupe, from which he
gained an appreciation of agitprop theater, which makes use of political agitation and propaganda to
protest social injustice. Valdez returned to Delano in 1965 to assist César Chávez and the United
Farmworkers Union in their efforts to unionize migrant workers. There Valdez organized the strikers
into a performing group to dramatize the exploitation of farmworkers and to demonstrate the necessity
of unionization for their financial survival. In 1967 Valdez and El Teatro Campesino began touring
nationally, expanding their focus on the

December 11, 2014 Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells Derived Neural Crest Stem Cells and the
maintenance of Neural crest stem cell multipotency
Stem cells are unspecialized cells, which have the potential to develop into several different cell types
muscle cells, brain cells, skin cells, or red blood cells during early development. Stem cells
continuously divide in order to replace other cells. As stem cells divide, they have the potential to
develop into a specialized cell or remain a stem cell. Induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) play an
essential role in tissue regeneration, and can circumvent immune system concerns. There are a variety
of stem cells, including embryonic stem cells, adult stem cells, and induced pluripotent stem cells.
However, the main focus of this paper will be the usage of induced pluripotent stem cells.
Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells Derived Neural Crest Stem Cells Induced pluripotent stem cells are
adult cells that are genetically altered in order to match embryonic stem cells. In order to achieve this
embryonic stem cell like nature, induced pluripotent stem cells are impelled to express genes and
factors required to maintain the properties of embryonic stem cells. The main iPSC discussed in this
paper will be derived neural crest stem cells (NCSCs). Derived neural crest stem cells are present in
both the embryonic neural crest and the

The Affect of National Culture on Human Resources Essay
INTRODUCTION
In today s business environment, the complexity of international business has increased and
international competition has been highlighted as an essential element for multinational firms
(MNCs). Thus, in order to gain competitive advantage, various resources are utilized, such as financial
capital, technology location or human resource (HR). Moreover, HR could be seemed as one of the
most important resource which has also become a focus of attention of senior managers in MNCs. As
suggested by MacMillan(1984), MNCs can gain competitive advantage through use of HR practice,
such as training, compensation, socialization, selection, performance appraisal and career
development, as long as other firms are unable to duplicate their ... Show more content on

Based on Hofstede s (1993) definition of national culture, it is stated that national culture is the
software of the mind, and it is deeply embedded in everyday life and fairly resistant to change.
Moreover, it is confirmed that national culture has a significant relationship with HR policies and
practice (Hofstede, 1993). Also, Earley (1994) demonstrated that national cultural values that reinforce
HR are more likely to yield predictable behaviour and better performances. This is because a national
culture is usually characterized by the values of the people who belong to that culture, so well HR
practices are consistent with existing behaviour expectations and routines that transcend the
workplace. Employees are not distracted from work if HR practices are consistent with national
cultural value. The various values had been grouped, by Schuler and Jackson (1994), into four
categories, work goal importance, need deficiency, fulfillment, and job satisfaction, managerial and
organizational variables, and work role and interpersonal orientation. Furthermore, Hofstede (1993)
has presented four largely independent dimensions of differences among national values systems,
which were labeled Power Distance , Uncertainty Avoidance, Individualism vs. Collectivism, and
Masculinity vs. Femininity.
1. Power Distance, indicates the extent to which the fact that power is distributed unequally is
accepted in the society by those who do and do not possess power.

Summary Of A Lady s Dressing Room
A Lady s Dressing Room
A Lady s Dressing Room by Jonathan Swift is an interesting work of literature, especially for the time
period it was written in. A poem like such is about the other side of women men typically do not see
(hints the title). By revealing the somewhat more embarrassing side of women, it shows the
surrounding society that they not only take forever to get ready, but instead reveal the not so pretty
side of the stereotypical women. Society during this time silences women and does not allow them to
be true to themselves. Women are also held to a higher more proper standard than the men when it
comes to society formalities. Swift integrates different literary ideas throughout this piece, he includes
ideas such as: Feminine rhyme, prosody, imagery, a pastoral message in addition to ekphrasis.
First off feminine rhyme as well as prosody is used throughout the whole piece. For an example in
lines three and four there is a clear connection between the two rhyming words, it states: The goddess
from her chamber issues, /Arrayed in lace, brocades and tissues (Swift,3 4). Clearly in this line Swift
is describing that some lady issues need to be handled with tissues . This line is a great example of
feminine rhyme as well as prosody, because women are often thought of as more sensitive than men
and this continual rhyming pattern remains present throughout the whole poem. By taking on a female
perspective from the beginning Swift is not only challenging the power dynamics is society, he is also
giving voice to the females and showing the more sensitive side. Think about it this way, if a male
would have written this piece it more than likely would not been emotional and sensitive because men
are typically more insensitive than women.
Secondly another great literary device Swift uses would be imagery. Imagery is throughout the
remainder of the poem as it is describing the daily routine of a women, but the one part that is bolder
than the others would have to be when he states: And first a dirty smock appeared/Beneath the armpits
well besmeared (Swift, 11 12). This is a great example of imagery being used. By painting a picture in
the reader s mind, the author is giving it a more real time

The Current State Consists Of Fragmented Processes
The current state consists of fragmented processes, which is the source of all productivity issues and
inefficiency in the construction industry. The future state should be project focused rather than process
focused . To achieve this desired future state it is essential that these processes are transformed to a
more integrated approach. There should be better collaboration between the different stakeholders in
the industry such as architects, builders, owners and regulatory agencies that issues permits. In the
current, traditional system of project delivery, the relationship between these involved parties are
adversarial. This can lead to the project being marred with schedule delays, budget overruns, poor
quality, and disputes and litigations between the parties involved, as they play the blame game
refusing to take liability or responsibility for the different processes. The desired future state can be
reached through incorporating the more collaborative delivery methods that are gaining popularity,
like Design Build and Integrated Project Delivery. These systems are based on information and risk
sharing. IPD especially has a potential to incorporate Lean Construction practices and Target Value
Design in the process. The alliance of the owner, builder, design professional and other specialty
consultants for the project, can communicate effectively with each other on a common platform of
knowledge sharing. Problems that may arise during construction or design

Borderline Personality Disorder ( Adhd )
Introduction Borderline Personality Disorder was first listed in the DSM in 1980. It is classified as a
cluster B personality disorder. Before then it was unsure if it was a disorder on its own, if it only
coexisted with other disorders, or only mocked other disorders. Most people suffering from BPD have
problems regulating emotions and thoughts, have impulsive and reckless behavior, and have unstable
relations with others. High rates of comorbidity occur with this disorder including; depression, anxiety
disorders, substance abuse, and eating disorders. BPD affects about four percent of the community, but
can be as high as twenty percent in many clinical psychiatric populations. It can be difficult to treat
because it responds poorly to most conventional methods of treatment and because of how little we
still know about it. There have been many great discoveries about BPD in only a few decades. There
are still many questions to be answered about this disorder, but it has gone from a label attached to
those who did not quite fit into other categories to a completely separate and somewhat understood
mental illness. History First recorded accounts of symptoms associated with BPD can be found in
medical literature from almost three thousand years ago. Adolph Stern would be the first to describe
the symptoms, possible causes, and what he thought to be the best treatment. Stern referred to patients
with these symptoms as the border line group. In the 1940 s Robert Knight

What is identity? Search it up and you will find being who or what a person or thing is, is called
identity. The meaning of identity cannot be put into words. You have to go on a journey to find out
who you are, if you want to define identity. How does one live life to the full if they don t know who
they are? Everybody is different and everybody has different aspects of their identity that make them
who they are. I will explain how one aspect of my identity has shaped my life experience, and the way
I see the world.
One important aspect of my identity is my family. Without my family, I wouldn t be the person I am
today. My parents gave me a secure upbringing. They never let me do anything that the other kids
were doing. They taught me what is right and wrong. My parents have taught me how to pick my
friends and have good relationships with everybody. I have also learned from my family to help others
and give charity. Both my older sister and my parents constantly teach me and remind me about
manners and how to talk and act in front of elders. The most important thing that I have learned from
my parents so far is that everybody is different from me and I am different from everybody. This has
drastically helped me in my life especially because these years of my life will make me who I am later
in the future. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

simply replied with why not. This made me realize that everybody is different and everybody has a

easier for customers to access the wedding related goods and services when they are put into one

event. An example is the Friends Reunited website. Types of conference Political conferences Political
conferences are party political conferences which are held every year for a general meeting of a
political party. The conferences are attended by certain delegates who represent the party membership.
In most political parties, the party conference is the highest decision making body of the organisation,
tasked with electing or nominating the party s leaders or leadership bodies. Popular venues which are
hired for political conferences include Brighton, Blackpool or Bournemouth which mainly rely on
conference business outside the summer holiday season so such conferences provide significant

Saltwater Effects On The Wetlands
Saltwater Effects on the Wetlands In John Grisham s The Pelican Brief, He brings up oil and gas
companies drilling in the wetlands, which is destroying them, and I decided to investigate further
about how these companies have been damaging the environment. The main way that the wetlands are
being killed is from the salt water that is intruding into the marshes from the canals, that gas and oil
companies use, are the way that most salt water gets so deep inside the wetlands (Barnowski). Oil and
gas companies are always trying to build more canals to invade different areas of the wetlands when
they find different reserves of oil and gas just like Victor Mattiece was in the Pelican Brief. When they
build more canals, The wetlands soil starts ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The state s many salt water lakes were once extensions of the sea that become cut off by ridges of sand
or deposits of silt (Colten). This basically means that there are salt marshes that were already in the
wetlands and that weren t hurting anything. They are just there because the Mississippi pulled silt or
sand down to the ocean and it built up to create salt water marshes and then plants that could handle
the salt water grew and salt water creatures also started to inhabit the area. The marshes that were just
extensions of the ocean are harmless to the wetlands but when canals bring in salt water they damage
the other marshes that aren t supposed to have salt in them. When salt water invades the freshwater
marshes, the plants start dying off because the plants can t live in the salty conditions. The fewer
plants that are in the wetlands the more unstable the soil is because the plants root systems hold much
of the land together (Barnowski). The loose soil is then more easily eroded, which connects the
vicious circle of erosion and plant loss (Barnowski). The higher amount of plants that die off by the
salt water will cause Louisiana to lose larger portions of its wetlands. We are already losing about 35
square miles of the coastal land due to erosion annually (Colten). The salt water doesn t only kill the
plant life in the marshes, it starves the animals living in those marshes as well. The

Looking Into The Fashion Of The 1920 s
CHOOSING AND REFINING MY TOPIC
Initially, the search for an adequate research topic was quite frustrating for me and I struggled to settle

We were to choose one aspect of the movement and further research it. I chose to look into the fashion

Dear the respected members of the Democratic National Committee.
As of November 8th, 2016, Donald Trump is the 45th president elect of the United States. As much as
this is a defeat, or victory for a numerous amount of citizens across America ,that is not exactly what
this is about. I m here to say shame on you. If it wasn t already apparent, your chosen establishment
candidate, Hillary Clinton was one painted in scandal, dishonesty, secrecy, and unpopularity. I can t
imagine why you, the democratic establishment, felt it would be wise to practically ignore the
grassroot progressive movement occurring right in front of your eyes. It wasn t an anomaly, it was a
symptom of something much larger. It was a sign that the people of America wanted something
different, as they did in 2008 when they supported President Obama with the aspirations of Hope and

you over the decades. It is more than evident that the DNC had a bit of favoritism in this election
process, and that statement alone represents and highlights a significant amount of irresponsibility.

Mark Knapp s Model Of Relation Stages
In a developmental perspective of relational dynamics, communications researcher Mark Knapp,
developed a model of relation stages. In Knapp s model, he included 10 stages, within 2 broad phases,
coming together at the beginning of the relationship and coming apart at the end. The first phases
encompasses the first 5 stages, the last phase includes the last 5. However, other researchers have
suggested that a third phase, relational maintenance, should be included. This stage encompasses the
fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh stages. These ten stages are as follows. As the first step, Initiating is
the act of making contact and sowing that you are worth interacting with. This stage tends to be quite
brief and is typically includes handshakes, small talk, and friendly expressions. Moving forward,

During integrating, the parties begin to interact as more of a social unit. At this point both people in
the relationship, start to take on characteristics of each other. Bonding, the fifth stage, is when the
parties then go show the world that their relationship exists. This is typically when the relationship is
given its most legitimacy. Differentiating, the sixth stage, is considered to be the beginning of the
downward slope in Knapp s model. Within this stage, you start to see the individuals involved in the
relationship, begin to pull away from each other. Now, this may seem like a negative, however it can
be a positive action. By pulling away from each other they are able to maintain their individual
identities while also maintaining a commitment to the relationship. At the seventh step,
Circumscribing, members of the relationship tend to decrease their communication in quantity and
quality. This is considered to be the opposite of the integrating stage, due to the fact that there is a

blossomed and made a fortune with this license. The year they retained MS DOS was in 1981 and by
the year 1990 s Microsoft sold more than 100 million copies (Gregg Pascal Zachary, 2015). In the year

Charlie Gordon s Success In Flowers For Algernon By Daniel...
The true method of knowledge is experiment. William Blake. Charlie Gordon was an adequate choice
for the scientists, Dr. Strous and Dr. Nemur, to choose since Charlie s gains from the surgery overrides
his loses. The surgery was to try and triple Charlie Gordan s IQ from 68 to 204, which was a success.
Charlie indeed gained several things from his surgery including: understanding of true friendship,
emotional maturity, and he finally got his dream come true. In Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes,
the doctors made a great choice for picking Charlie Gordan as their test subject.
One way that Dr. Strous and Dr. Demur did an amazing job in their decision for their test subject, was
that Charlie Gordon started off doing whatever his friends, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

I read the grammar book last night and it explanes the whole thing. (Keyes page 192). People tend to

intelligence is that he died. While dying is not a good thing alone it does not strain from the fact that
he died finally achieving something that he spent his whole life trying to reach. So, instead of dying
from a life searching but never really achieving. He died a life where he succeeded his dream. Other
people say that this human sacrifice was unsafe and that no one knows about it since even the doctors

The Bluest Eye
The novel The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison presents the certain type of beauty admired by the main
character in this fictional story, which seems to be the main content of the novel. The first thing that
the people judge is the physical appearance, no matter from which part of the world anyone comes
from. The stereotype of defining a beauty in a certain way still prevails in our society. On the other
hand, human beings being a social animal, cannot remain secluded from the society. They shape
themselves into the societal beliefs, values, trend, culture etc. of the society. Especially, the ones who

No matter how ugly, mean, pitiful one can be, the family is always meant to support, raise, guide,

which is why she gets mentally unstable as she couldn t bear the torture of ugliness of not having blue
eyes. Blue eyes are the one and only reason she could blame as per to her ability and thought process.
In fact, she doesn t get the real ugliness of how her father rapes her, the ugliness of how the mother

unpleasant past. After all, she doesn t have that mentor in her life to explain what was happening.

seems to like, in the woods so they can do some hunting for food. As she s walking, she thinks about
her mother and her younger sister, Prim, who is 12 years old. They have depended on Katniss for food
ever since their father died in a mine explosion when Katniss was 11. It s the day of the reaping, which
is very stressful because it determines which boy and girl, ages 12 to 18, will serve as the district s
tributes in the Hunger Games. Each of the 12 districts must draw two tributes, and those tributes are
sent to an arena where they fight to the death until only one tribute remains alive. The victor s district
is given gifts, mainly food, and the victor returns home. The Capitol of Panem puts on the Games to
remind and punish the 12 districts of the Dark Days, which was when the 13th district was destroyed
for attempting to rise up against the cruel and merciless Capitol. The reaping begins and Prim s name
is drawn. Katniss freaks out and volunteers to take her place, making her District 12 s girl tribute. The

Jfk White House Tour Analysis
Event On February 14, 1962, Jacqueline Kennedy gave an hour long televised tour of her restoration
of the White House. With CBS News correspondent, Charles Collingwood by her side, Jackie
Kennedy showed America the historic site, which was the first ever television tour inside. The film
aired on both CBS and NBC at 10 o clock p.m., and was later rebroadcasted by ABC later in the week.
The program reached a shocking 80 million viewers. This scripted broadcast fostered the awareness
that the White House during the Kennedy Administration was different from that of those before. This
home was one of elegance and grace, which was emulated by the First Lady, who America was able to

Kennedy s tour is representative of the role as a whole. This can be seen through the portrayal of first
ladies through media coverage. It is clear the media plays a role in the formation and solidification of

broadcast also brings forward questions of public and private life. Because of this portrayal, are there
expectations of how all women should fulfill their gender role in society?
There has always been a semblance of tension between the press and the First lady, as they represent
women who are achieving more public power over time. Gutgold puts it perfectly when she says; To

Sectional Title Essay
Pros Cons of sectional title schemes
Sectional title means that you are owner a unit in a common property, weather its an apartment,
partially detached house, mini subtype home or a flat. So, you are sole owner of your living unit but
you also have the right to use certain common parts of property that are co owned by all the sectional
title owners in this community, such as yard, pool, washing room etc.
Pros of sectional title scheme
Sectional title has its advantages. For one, you will own your home for (probably) lower price then if
you have chosen to buy a house with own land. There is also an element of community, living within a
group where people usually tend to become closer because they share certain parts of property
together ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For one, you don t have complete control of your property there are these common parts that can be
used (and are owned) by other sectional title owners. Management of property has the right to decide
about building/property management and you as an individual owner can t decide otherwise but have
to comply, even when you don t agree with such decision. These decisions can determine pet rules,
playing area and usage of communal area.
These rules can change and even if you or some other owner don t agree with the rules and how they
were changed, you still have to comply with them. Also, you can t decide to change your home in
larger amount, to do some construction works, before you get an approval from the management. You
and other owners of sectional title parts of property are responsible to cover any and every debt of the
community, which means that if one of the owners doesn t cover his communal expenses, others will
be liable to cover for him.
In general, it can be said that sectional title scheme has its advantages and disadvantages. It is a good
start for young couple who want to start life in their property. Of course, one should be aware of all
the restrictions and limitations that apply to sectional scheme property before choosing to get involved
in such property ownership. Also, before buying such property make sure to do your research of the

Freedom And Responsibility In Lord Of The Flies By William...
Most people do not really want freedom, because freedom involves responsibility, and most people are
frightened of responsibility. Once said Sigmund Freud the father of psychology. People have been
blessed with freedoms and generally say that they want to be more free , but what they don t
understand is that freedom is responsibility. Being free means that the individual is responsible for his
or her future and most people are scared of that. However, both freedom and responsibility are often in
conflict, they can contradict each other when viewing certain topics. Even though a comparison of
freedom and responsibility reveals several similarities there are also a considerable number of
differences when parenting a child, exercising free speech, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

When it comes to parenting, parents should be responsible with how they raise their child. It is
important for the parents to teach their child age appropriate skills so the kid can act independently.
More importantly, it is their job to provide a safe environment for their kids to foster their child s well
being. In the story Lord of the flies by author William Golding, the author shares his thoughts in a
unique way by telling a story where children got stuck on an island having the freedom to do anything
they like. The children lost their sense morality and became savages; the story shows how children can
be if left uncared for. The freedom of free speech can be abused when people are not responsible for
their actions. Individuals have the right to say what they want but in limits that abide the countries
laws, and to avoid disrespecting other people. Furthermore, spreading hate speech against certain
groups is not considered free speech anymore, it is just slander. Additionally, people have to watch
how far they stretch the term free speech and be responsible with it. Most of the choices people make
affect themselves so they should be responsible for what choices they make. For example, if an
employee wakes up one morning and decides to not go to work this morning. He should be
responsible for what comes next, either calling in sick or even getting fired from work. To be
responsible for our choices is dealing with what happens after making a wrong decision or taking in
the credit or the approval after doing a good

Three-Pronged Approach Analysis
Describe the three pronged approach to early detection of breast masses: mammography, clinical
breast exam, and self awareness.
Early detection by screening for breast masses involves a three pronged approach: mammography,
breast self examination, clinical breast examination. Women should have a baseline mammography
screening beginning at the age forty. Women who are at a high risk for breast cancer should have a
yearly exam beginning at age the age of thirty. A mammography is an X ray that allows health care
professionals to examine the breast tissue for any suspicious areas. Mammograms can often show a
breast abnormality before it can be self detected. The clinical breast exam is performed by a healthcare
professional that is trained to recognize different types of abnormalities and risk factors. The clinical
breast exams are conducted in office, typically completed by a family physician or gynecologist at
your annual exam. A self breast exam is something women should do once a month at home. Breast

Maycomb Great Depression
There was no hurry, for there was nowhere to go, nothing to buy, and no money to buy it with, nothing
to see outside the boundaries of Maycomb County (Lee 5). Maycomb County was impacted by the
Great Depression, mostly because it was a small community based town. In Harper Lee s, To Kill a
Mockingbird, the Great Depression played a considerable role in the setting, theme, and characters.
The Great Depression seemed to engulf smaller cities much faster than it did the bigger cities. The
people of Maycomb spent their days standing in town imploring for goods that they could no longer
afford. According to the author, they begin having sit down strikes in the big cities of Alabama; also
the bread lines were forming throughout the day (Lee 116). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Some people through the story left the town with hopes of finding a better life elsewhere. According
to Lee, John Finch, Atticus brother, commuted to a bigger city because cotton could not be grown in
Maycomb (Lee 5). When saying this, Harper Lee is indicating that people were not in sustainable
conditions while in Maycomb. The farm land was almost impossible for growing anything. Therefore,
the people that stayed in Maycomb faced challenging times. The people are very home oriented;
whereas they are willing to face tragedies just to stay in their home town with the people that they
love. This aspect of the book is very important. The people of Maycomb are so close. Maycomb
County came together when the whole world seemed to come to a halt during the Depression. The
setting, theme, and characters were most affected by the Great Depression. The small town of
Maycomb stood together through the worst of times. Throughout the novel, To Kill a Mockingbird,
the reader is allowed to form a connection with the characters through all of the trials and tribulations
shown throughout the novel. The examples of the Great Depression that Lee uses throughout the story

The Crime Rate in Canada
Background Crime in Canada
The Canadian Constitution gives the power to establish, investigate, and adjudicate crimes with the
federal government. The individual provinces are responsible for law enforcement, although in many
cases this is contracted to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, which is a federal agency. The power
to prosecute crimes belongs to the federal government, but responsibility for these prosecutions is
delegated to the provinces for most types of crime. However, to make the issue more streamlined,
laws and sentencing guidelines are fairly uniform throughout the country, but there are varying levels
of enforcement based on individual provinces (Boyd, 2011). The crime rate in Canada has been in a
general decline since 1991 and recent statistics show that of those crimes reported, 48% were property
related and 12.6% were violent crime. Ironically, the three most northern territories with the least
population have higher per capita crime rates that any province. Statistics from the Canadian Centre of
Justice, crime was, in fact, the lowest since 1972. This general trend is positive, but there remains an
increase in certain crimes since 2010 including homicide (7% increase), criminal harassment (1%
increase), sexual crimes against children (3% increase), child pornography (40% increase), and
impaired driving (2% increase) (Canada s Crime Rate, 2012). Experts in the government believe that
the overall tough on crime measures are working noting that if

The Hysterectomy Of Abortion
A hysterectomy is when an abortionist permanently removes the entire uterus and the baby with the
intent to kill the baby. Third trimester abortions are the same procedures as those performed in the
second trimester, but the United States only allows abortions after twenty four for medical reasons.
Abortion is one of the most controversial debate in the world today. The reason that this is such a hard
topic to solve is because of one simple question. When does life begin? The answer to that question
would end the debate of whether abortion should be considered murder or not. Viability is currently
the legal determining factor of when life begins. However, a baby shows signs of life even before it is
viable outside of the womb.
At five weeks ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This begins at five weeks. If a baby is killed after five weeks, it should be considered murder. When
someone is shot and their heart never stops beating, it is called attempted murder, but if the victim s
heart stops beating, it is classified as a homicide. When a woman decides to abort her child after five
weeks, she is stopping the heart of a human being. Abortionists argue that even if a baby has a
heartbeat, it could not live outside of the womb until it is around twenty five weeks, therefore it is not
murder to kill someone that would not survive anyway. That is the same as killing someone who is
terminally ill just because they are not going to survive. A four year old also cannot live on his own
without a safe environment and nutrients, just as a baby cannot survive without the safety and
nutrition of the mother s womb. Does that mean it is okay to kill a four year old too? Abortion will
always be a debatable topic, so listen to your heart, the one that has been beating inside of you since
you were five weeks old, because it will help you make the right

I Believe Vision And College Alumni Into Accelerating...
Introduction
I believe vision promotes and excels college alumni into accelerating career pathways that promote
autonomy, innovation, and leadership expressed independently and as a team. Fostering the next
generation builds the framework for the assumptions relied upon to support the community needs for
career ready hires. In addition, vision aligns personal beliefs and career goals as a career services,
director. I would articulate, steward, and promote this vision to foster alignment with stakeholders
students, parents, and community leaders. In turn, encouraging career goals through exploration
through desires, needs, individual values, behavior and actions. Simply the opportunity to lead in
providing students with tools to make strategic and informed decisions about the career paths.
Articulating a Vision I believe collaborative planning with faculty, career development officers, and
hiring recruiters from a shared governance perspective. In addition, to articulating, developing and
rolling out the vision and prompting feedback to measure those expected outcomes. I would start by
communicating with those who teach, requesting structured curriculum to incorporate career
opportunities relative to their courses. The effective avenues to reach the masses would include
forums, press releases, college open houses, career fairs, website presence, faculty retreats, courses
and college wide updates all areas requiring community/workforce collaboration.

Best Route for Economic Development for Poor Countries
Whether liberal democracy, illiberal democracy or authoritarian rule is the best route to economic
development for low income countries
Introduction
Democracy and economic development are two concepts that were not related initially, however, with
the rise of democracies and the subsequent economic development there is an established correlation
between the two concepts. The question that this paper will seek to address is which is the best regime
for economic development . In responding tothis question it is significant to first distinguish between
the different regimes that are available; liberal democracy, illiberal democracy and authoritarianism.

The idea is that there is a centrality between the mode of government and the economy. The economy
is a sub structure of society and this substructure determines the overall structure of the society,
including politics. Democracy is primary in economic development as it is a facilitator of economic
development. Democracy provides the basic foundation for economic development and values such as
the, freedom of speech, rule of law, freedom of association, separation of powers and protection of
human rights provide an institutional setting and process for economic development. Democracy
facilitates economic liberation, provides mobilization of resources and provides a better environment
for economic development (Gerring, Thacker Alfaro 2012).
Democracy and development are complimentary and they reinforce each other and aids development
through the mechanism of accountability. Accountability acts to limit the abuse of power by the
executive and provides checks for undesired interventions in the economy. Transparency is also
another factor that is important in economic development and institutions that operate with a greater
degree of openness are more likely to develop. Political transparency is also essential in liberal
democracies as well as essential information dispensing institutions and press that is free from
political control. Such

What Are The Eight Steps Of Kotter s Eight Step Model
The change model that I applied for the project was the Kotter s Eight Step Process (Kohn, 2005).
Within the Eight Step Process, it illustrates the major phases such as creating a climate for change,
engaging and enabling the organization and implementing and sustaining the change. In each of the
phases it has the building blocks that are required for each level to be assure that change can occur.
The main phase that I used from Kotter s Eight Step Process was the creating a climate for change
phase. In the creating a climate for change phase it has the increase of urgency, build guiding teams
and get the vision right. How I applied this phase of the model to the project was that I knew if I
present my suggestion with great motivation and with heighten energy to the match specialist and to
the board members, they are able to see that I am serious in making a positive change. I also am aware
that I needed to speak with the correct board members first who were willing to listen and expressed

  • 2. Modern Chicano Theater, By Luis Valdez Is Best Known As... Ibrahim Aldosaimani Luis Valdez 1940 Considered the originator of modern Chicano theater, Valdez is best known as the founding director of El Teatro Campesino, a seminal grassroots theater group initially formed to convince California migrant farmworkers of the value of unionization. Valdez, who writes some works in English and others in a blend of English and Spanish, is credited with having provided momentum to the Chicano theater movement through his highly vivid style and his ability to place the Chicano experience within a universal American framework. BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION Born into a family of migrant farmworkers in Delano, California, Valdez began working in the fields at six years of age. Although his education was frequently interrupted by his family s constant travel, Valdez finished high school and subsequently attended San Jose State College. After graduating in 1964 Valdez joined the San Francisco Mime Troupe, from which he gained an appreciation of agitprop theater, which makes use of political agitation and propaganda to protest social injustice. Valdez returned to Delano in 1965 to assist César Chávez and the United Farmworkers Union in their efforts to unionize migrant workers. There Valdez organized the strikers into a performing group to dramatize the exploitation of farmworkers and to demonstrate the necessity of unionization for their financial survival. In 1967 Valdez and El Teatro Campesino began touring nationally, expanding their focus on the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Alyssa Gbewonyo Biology 441 Section 16138 December 11, 2014 Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells Derived Neural Crest Stem Cells and the maintenance of Neural crest stem cell multipotency Stem cells are unspecialized cells, which have the potential to develop into several different cell types muscle cells, brain cells, skin cells, or red blood cells during early development. Stem cells continuously divide in order to replace other cells. As stem cells divide, they have the potential to develop into a specialized cell or remain a stem cell. Induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) play an essential role in tissue regeneration, and can circumvent immune system concerns. There are a variety of stem cells, including embryonic stem cells, adult stem cells, and induced pluripotent stem cells. However, the main focus of this paper will be the usage of induced pluripotent stem cells. Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells Derived Neural Crest Stem Cells Induced pluripotent stem cells are adult cells that are genetically altered in order to match embryonic stem cells. In order to achieve this embryonic stem cell like nature, induced pluripotent stem cells are impelled to express genes and factors required to maintain the properties of embryonic stem cells. The main iPSC discussed in this paper will be derived neural crest stem cells (NCSCs). Derived neural crest stem cells are present in both the embryonic neural crest and the ... • 6. The Affect of National Culture on Human Resources Essay INTRODUCTION In today s business environment, the complexity of international business has increased and international competition has been highlighted as an essential element for multinational firms (MNCs). Thus, in order to gain competitive advantage, various resources are utilized, such as financial capital, technology location or human resource (HR). Moreover, HR could be seemed as one of the most important resource which has also become a focus of attention of senior managers in MNCs. As suggested by MacMillan(1984), MNCs can gain competitive advantage through use of HR practice, such as training, compensation, socialization, selection, performance appraisal and career development, as long as other firms are unable to duplicate their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Based on Hofstede s (1993) definition of national culture, it is stated that national culture is the software of the mind, and it is deeply embedded in everyday life and fairly resistant to change. Moreover, it is confirmed that national culture has a significant relationship with HR policies and practice (Hofstede, 1993). Also, Earley (1994) demonstrated that national cultural values that reinforce HR are more likely to yield predictable behaviour and better performances. This is because a national culture is usually characterized by the values of the people who belong to that culture, so well HR practices are consistent with existing behaviour expectations and routines that transcend the workplace. Employees are not distracted from work if HR practices are consistent with national cultural value. The various values had been grouped, by Schuler and Jackson (1994), into four categories, work goal importance, need deficiency, fulfillment, and job satisfaction, managerial and organizational variables, and work role and interpersonal orientation. Furthermore, Hofstede (1993) has presented four largely independent dimensions of differences among national values systems, which were labeled Power Distance , Uncertainty Avoidance, Individualism vs. Collectivism, and Masculinity vs. Femininity. 1. Power Distance, indicates the extent to which the fact that power is distributed unequally is accepted in the society by those who do and do not possess power. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. Summary Of A Lady s Dressing Room A Lady s Dressing Room A Lady s Dressing Room by Jonathan Swift is an interesting work of literature, especially for the time period it was written in. A poem like such is about the other side of women men typically do not see (hints the title). By revealing the somewhat more embarrassing side of women, it shows the surrounding society that they not only take forever to get ready, but instead reveal the not so pretty side of the stereotypical women. Society during this time silences women and does not allow them to be true to themselves. Women are also held to a higher more proper standard than the men when it comes to society formalities. Swift integrates different literary ideas throughout this piece, he includes ideas such as: Feminine rhyme, prosody, imagery, a pastoral message in addition to ekphrasis. First off feminine rhyme as well as prosody is used throughout the whole piece. For an example in lines three and four there is a clear connection between the two rhyming words, it states: The goddess from her chamber issues, /Arrayed in lace, brocades and tissues (Swift,3 4). Clearly in this line Swift is describing that some lady issues need to be handled with tissues . This line is a great example of feminine rhyme as well as prosody, because women are often thought of as more sensitive than men and this continual rhyming pattern remains present throughout the whole poem. By taking on a female perspective from the beginning Swift is not only challenging the power dynamics is society, he is also giving voice to the females and showing the more sensitive side. Think about it this way, if a male would have written this piece it more than likely would not been emotional and sensitive because men are typically more insensitive than women. Secondly another great literary device Swift uses would be imagery. Imagery is throughout the remainder of the poem as it is describing the daily routine of a women, but the one part that is bolder than the others would have to be when he states: And first a dirty smock appeared/Beneath the armpits well besmeared (Swift, 11 12). This is a great example of imagery being used. By painting a picture in the reader s mind, the author is giving it a more real time ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. The Current State Consists Of Fragmented Processes The current state consists of fragmented processes, which is the source of all productivity issues and inefficiency in the construction industry. The future state should be project focused rather than process focused . To achieve this desired future state it is essential that these processes are transformed to a more integrated approach. There should be better collaboration between the different stakeholders in the industry such as architects, builders, owners and regulatory agencies that issues permits. In the current, traditional system of project delivery, the relationship between these involved parties are adversarial. This can lead to the project being marred with schedule delays, budget overruns, poor quality, and disputes and litigations between the parties involved, as they play the blame game refusing to take liability or responsibility for the different processes. The desired future state can be reached through incorporating the more collaborative delivery methods that are gaining popularity, like Design Build and Integrated Project Delivery. These systems are based on information and risk sharing. IPD especially has a potential to incorporate Lean Construction practices and Target Value Design in the process. The alliance of the owner, builder, design professional and other specialty consultants for the project, can communicate effectively with each other on a common platform of knowledge sharing. • 11. Borderline Personality Disorder ( Adhd ) Introduction Borderline Personality Disorder was first listed in the DSM in 1980. It is classified as a cluster B personality disorder. Before then it was unsure if it was a disorder on its own, if it only coexisted with other disorders, or only mocked other disorders. Most people suffering from BPD have problems regulating emotions and thoughts, have impulsive and reckless behavior, and have unstable relations with others. High rates of comorbidity occur with this disorder including; depression, anxiety disorders, substance abuse, and eating disorders. BPD affects about four percent of the community, but can be as high as twenty percent in many clinical psychiatric populations. It can be difficult to treat because it responds poorly to most conventional methods of treatment and because of how little we still know about it. There have been many great discoveries about BPD in only a few decades. There are still many questions to be answered about this disorder, but it has gone from a label attached to those who did not quite fit into other categories to a completely separate and somewhat understood mental illness. History First recorded accounts of symptoms associated with BPD can be found in medical literature from almost three thousand years ago. Adolph Stern would be the first to describe the symptoms, possible causes, and what he thought to be the best treatment. Stern referred to patients with these symptoms as the border line group. You have to go on a journey to find out who you are, if you want to define identity. How does one live life to the full if they don t know who they are? Everybody is different and everybody has different aspects of their identity that make them who they are. I will explain how one aspect of my identity has shaped my life experience, and the way I see the world. One important aspect of my identity is my family. Without my family, I wouldn t be the person I am today. My parents gave me a secure upbringing. They never let me do anything that the other kids were doing. They taught me what is right and wrong. My parents have taught me how to pick my friends and have good relationships with everybody. I have also learned from my family to help others and give charity. Both my older sister and my parents constantly teach me and remind me about manners and how to talk and act in front of elders. Saltwater Effects On The Wetlands Saltwater Effects on the Wetlands In John Grisham s The Pelican Brief, He brings up oil and gas companies drilling in the wetlands, which is destroying them, and I decided to investigate further about how these companies have been damaging the environment. The main way that the wetlands are being killed is from the salt water that is intruding into the marshes from the canals, that gas and oil companies use, are the way that most salt water gets so deep inside the wetlands (Barnowski). Oil and gas companies are always trying to build more canals to invade different areas of the wetlands when they find different reserves of oil and gas just like Victor Mattiece was in the Pelican Brief. The state s many salt water lakes were once extensions of the sea that become cut off by ridges of sand or deposits of silt (Colten). This basically means that there are salt marshes that were already in the wetlands and that weren t hurting anything. They are just there because the Mississippi pulled silt or sand down to the ocean and it built up to create salt water marshes and then plants that could handle the salt water grew and salt water creatures also started to inhabit the area. The marshes that were just extensions of the ocean are harmless to the wetlands but when canals bring in salt water they damage the other marshes that aren t supposed to have salt in them. When salt water invades the freshwater marshes, the plants start dying off because the plants can t live in the salty conditions. The fewer plants that are in the wetlands the more unstable the soil is because the plants root systems hold much of the land together (Barnowski). The loose soil is then more easily eroded, which connects the vicious circle of erosion and plant loss (Barnowski). The higher amount of plants that die off by the salt water will cause Louisiana to lose larger portions of its wetlands. We are already losing about 35 square miles of the coastal land due to erosion annually (Colten). In the story Lord of the flies by author William Golding, the author shares his thoughts in a unique way by telling a story where children got stuck on an island having the freedom to do anything they like. The children lost their sense morality and became savages; the story shows how children can be if left uncared for. The freedom of free speech can be abused when people are not responsible for their actions. The individual provinces are responsible for law enforcement, although in many cases this is contracted to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, which is a federal agency. The power to prosecute crimes belongs to the federal government, but responsibility for these prosecutions is delegated to the provinces for most types of crime. • 34. The Hysterectomy Of Abortion A hysterectomy is when an abortionist permanently removes the entire uterus and the baby with the intent to kill the baby. Third trimester abortions are the same procedures as those performed in the second trimester, but the United States only allows abortions after twenty four for medical reasons. Abortion is one of the most controversial debate in the world today. The reason that this is such a hard topic to solve is because of one simple question. When does life begin? The answer to that question would end the debate of whether abortion should be considered murder or not. Viability is currently the legal determining factor of when life begins. However, a baby shows signs of life even before it is viable outside of the womb. At five weeks ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This begins at five weeks. If a baby is killed after five weeks, it should be considered murder. When someone is shot and their heart never stops beating, it is called attempted murder, but if the victim s heart stops beating, it is classified as a homicide. When a woman decides to abort her child after five weeks, she is stopping the heart of a human being. Abortionists argue that even if a baby has a heartbeat, it could not live outside of the womb until it is around twenty five weeks, therefore it is not murder to kill someone that would not survive anyway. That is the same as killing someone who is terminally ill just because they are not going to survive. A four year old also cannot live on his own without a safe environment and nutrients, just as a baby cannot survive without the safety and nutrition of the mother s womb. Does that mean it is okay to kill a four year old too? Abortion will always be a debatable topic, so listen to your heart, the one that has been beating inside of you since you were five weeks old, because it will help you make the right ... Best Route for Economic Development for Poor Countries Whether liberal democracy, illiberal democracy or authoritarian rule is the best route to economic development for low income countries Introduction Democracy and economic development are two concepts that were not related initially, however, with the rise of democracies and the subsequent economic development there is an established correlation between the two concepts. The question that this paper will seek to address is which is the best regime for economic development . In responding tothis question it is significant to first distinguish between the different regimes that are available; liberal democracy, illiberal democracy and authoritarianism. The idea is that there is a centrality between the mode of government and the economy. The economy is a sub structure of society and this substructure determines the overall structure of the society, including politics. Democracy is primary in economic development as it is a facilitator of economic development. Democracy provides the basic foundation for economic development and values such as the, freedom of speech, rule of law, freedom of association, separation of powers and protection of human rights provide an institutional setting and process for economic development. Democracy facilitates economic liberation, provides mobilization of resources and provides a better environment for economic development (Gerring, Thacker Alfaro 2012). • 39. What Are The Eight Steps Of Kotter s Eight Step Model The change model that I applied for the project was the Kotter s Eight Step Process (Kohn, 2005). Within the Eight Step Process, it illustrates the major phases such as creating a climate for change, engaging and enabling the organization and implementing and sustaining the change. In each of the phases it has the building blocks that are required for each level to be assure that change can occur. The main phase that I used from Kotter s Eight Step Process was the creating a climate for change phase. In the creating a climate for change phase it has the increase of urgency, build guiding teams and get the vision right. How I applied this phase of the model to the project was that I knew if I present my suggestion with great motivation and with heighten energy to the match specialist and to the board members, they are able to see that I am serious in making a positive change. I also am aware that I needed to speak with the correct board members first who were willing to listen and expressed that some change needed to occur within the organization. This is the reason ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By demonstrating a sense of urgency and delivering my suggestion during the fundraiser event in a highly energetic and motivated manner, the board members and especially the CEO would not believe that there is a need to make a change. It was also a success because I did have a few people already in my corner from a few months ago that heard my suggestions in the past. The people that had the right behavior by being focused, committed to the change that I wanted to do, were people in positions in which they had a big influence towards the program. I also felt that by using this phase of the model, the goal of the change that I wanted for the Big Sister Program was considered to be achievable and implemented in the near ...
