2. Masthead: the
masthead is very big
and at the top of the
page. This will make
it more memorable
for the target
readers. Therefore it
will be able to
recognise to buy
again.
Additional cover
lines: they are the
same colour as the
masthead so they
match the
magazine. Also
some are in bigger
fonts. This may be
because some are
more important
than others and
want readers to
see those
additional cover
lines first.
Image : the model
is in the centre of
the magazine
cover and it is a
medium shot.
Main cover
line: this
cover line is in
the middle of
the page and
the most
noticeable.
This is the
main cover
line the
editors want
the target
audience to
see.
3. Headline:
this is used to
draw
attention to
the reader
but don't tell
them what
the article is
about.
First letter:
the first
letter of the
magazine
article is in a
much bigger
font size than
the rest of
the article.
This is so the
reader
knows when
to start
reading
from.
Additional headline: this
gives a theme to the article.
Subheading: this tells the
reader what the article is
about but doesn't give all
the information away.
Editors may do this to draw
the reader in even more to
read.
Image: this
shows the
reader who
the article is
about.
Therefore
people are
more likely
to read the
article if they
like the
person on
the spread.
