This document discusses the use of various media technologies in the construction, research, planning, and evaluation stages of a project. A WhatsApp group chat was used for communication and organizing ideas during the research and planning stages. Adobe Photoshop was used to create a film poster and magazine cover, learning skills like using the magic wand and text tools. A Canon bridge camera was used to take pictures for the magazine cover with professional studio lighting. iMovie was used to construct a film trailer, enabling editing of clips to explain the storyline. An iPhone camera with an external lens was used to record filming shots for the trailer.

2. WHATSAPP GROUP CHAT –
RESEARCH AND PLANNING
• As a group we decided the best form of
communication would be a whatsapp group chat.
• We were able to communicate ideas and organise
things quicker using the whatsapp group chat.
• It helped us share images with each other when
trying to source costumes and props.

3. ADOBE PHOTOSHOP CS5 –
CONSTRUCTION OF ANCILLARY TASKS
• I have developed my skills with Adobe Photoshop CS5 when I
was creating and editing my film poster and magazine front
cover.
• I developed my skills in using tools such as ‘Magic Wand Tool’
to get rid of backgrounds and ‘Text Tool’ when wanting to
add text.
• The image on the magazine front cover was taken on a green
screen so I also learnt how to mask and remove the green
colour from the background of the image.

4. CANON BRIDGE CAMERA -
CONSTRUCTION OF ANCILLARY TASKS
• I used the Canon Bridge Camera to take pictures of the
actors for my magazine front cover.
• I used professional studio lighting when taking the
images too with the Canon Bridge Camera. The studio
lights were orange low key lighting. I did this to make the
image to show mysteriousness and to look secretive.

5. IMOVIE – CONSTRUCTION OF FILM
TRAILER
• We used IMovie to construct our trailer which was done on
the Mac.
• This really benefitted our trailer as we were able to edit and
split clips and arrange them in a way that would explain the
storyline well which would enable the audience to understand
the trailer.
• The ‘Cut’ and ‘Crop’ tools on IMovie were useful in helping to
do this.
• Changing the saturation of colour, brightness and contrast
added to shots that required darkness that had been filmed in

6. IPHONE CAMERA – CONSTRUCTION
OF FILM TRAILER
• We used the iPhone 6 which has an 8-megalpixel iSight
in build camera to record all the filming shots for our
trailer.
• We were able to use an external lens that made the
camera shots wider. This helped improve shooting as
we could film more establishing camera shots.

7. Digital technology has enabled me to be creative as I
have developed lots of skills by using digital technology
such as the use of video content, using tools on Adobe
Photoshop CS5 and using blogs to create a platform.
Digital technology has allowed me to be artistic in
making a film trailer which is something I thought I
wouldn’t be able to do.
