Working Title:
Kingdom of Xilo
What is it called? This can change if you think of something better later
Audience:
The target audience is 14-18-year olds males in a working to middle class background living in a
town in the UK. Would appeal to the target audience by putting advertisements in places where
they would see it these places would be YouTube adverts sponsoring gaming channels to promote
the game. Also do tv adverts to reach a wider audience as well. The other place the game be
promoted is with magazine adverts for example a video game magazine cover which will appeal to
the target audience even if they do not buy it, they will see the advertisement. The product would
appeal to the age group because it is fantasy game which will be a good escape for the target
audience being in a world where they have purpose and drive. Think the product would appeal to
the target gender of males because it has a male protagonist which I think more males would be
able to relate to. The geographical situation that the target audience would live in would be a town
since in towns most people know one another so other people who like the game will share a
common interest with each other, the other reason why I picked a town over a city is since a town
is smaller there will not have to be as many adverts put up since it is a smaller area than a city
meaning it will stand out more. I think that the product would be used by the target audience as
escapism or enjoyment since the age range is 14-18 years old that is when a lot of pressure is put
onto people from being children to becoming adults and the product would be an escape from the
pressures of real life at that age, at the age of 18 I think it will be more likely used for enjoyment
since the pressure of GCSE’s and A levels will be gone and they will be going to university or
going into an apprenticeship.

Why would your project appeal to this person? Discuss each audience element in relation to
content (why would your product appeal to the age group? Why would your product appeal to the

Rationale (approx. 100 words)
The skills that I have learnt this year are to use photoshop and premier pro, I have also learnt to
keep organised for the planning and making sure that everything is accessible for me. The music
video and experimenting on photoshop have greatly influenced my knowledge and capabilities for
using premier pro and photoshop, experimenting with photoshop will have a lot of effect on the
product. My experience with photoshop has greatly affected my choice of how to make
promotional material for my product like posters and character designs I have learnt to do very
basic animation on photoshop which will help in product.

Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
I am going to make the Kingdom of Xilo which is a fantasy game, the main character “Wyrm” is a
young man conscripted into the army to fight against the kingdom of Thrax the general’s daughter
“Dryaa” and is the only person who can wield the watcher’s eye in the watcher’s tower which can
destroy Thrax’s army so Wyrm and Xuto set off to find her. They encounter many beasts and
bandits on their way to Thrax’s kingdom they are attacked by the silver serpent but saved by shelly
the Sharman saves them after being saved they go to Thrax’s kingdom in order to save Dryaa they
end up saving her but Xuto sacrifices himself for them to escape Dryaa is weak from her
imprisonment and his healed my Shelly the Sharman by the time that Dryaa wakes the Kingdom
has been attacked. Wyrm and Dryaa travel to the watch tower Dryaa takes over the watcher’s eye
defeating Thrax’s army.
I will need to research other fantasy games and films such as Lord of the Rings, The hobbit, hollow
knight and monster hunter world. These films/videogames are all fantasy and adventure, which I
took inspiration from like the silver serpent which was inspired by monster hunters over the top and

exaggerated creatures that dwarf the player’s character.
Research I will need to conduct will be to check if the story will appeal to the target audience and if
it makes sense.

Production Techniques (approx. 150 words)
The specialist techniques that that I need to consider sound production with music which I will
create on beep box to create and 8bit sound. Also, other sounds which cannot be computer
generated like walking sounds which need to be recorded by me walking around on different
surfaces and sword swings which can be created with moving a t-shirt quickly over a microphone.
The specialist equipment that I will need is photoshop this is because all the promotional material
can be created on photoshop as well as character design and character animations, I can also
make cover art for the game as well as word art by altering each word individually. Other
equipment that I will use will be my phone to record my sounds with. I will have to use my own
devices like my phone and my laptop (my laptop has Photoshop on it) because I cannot use
anything else because of COVID-19, I can use photoshop to make a magazine like the hobbit
cover as promotional material.

Evaluation (approx. 50 words)
I plan to evaluate the work by using a progress log to document what I do every day when I am
making the product and I will also evaluate my work once it is complete. As well as each day filling
out a reflective journal each day.
How do you plan to evaluate the work? Reference conducting on-going evaluation and your final
self-reflection, analysing your work and its outcomes.
