This document outlines a proposal for a mobile game called "100 Tales". The target audience is teenagers and adults aged 15-45 from a C1 to A-class background who can afford the necessary devices and data costs. The game draws from multiple genres like superhero fiction and gangster stories. It takes place in a book where different story worlds are blending together catastrophically. The player character is tasked with restoring order by gaining allies and enemies in each world. Gameplay is inspired by JRPG titles and involves gathering a team of characters with unique skills and enhancing them through equipment. The proposal discusses the skills and knowledge gained from previous video game and Photoshop work that will be applied, such as animation procedures.

Working Title:100 Tales.
What is it called? This can change if you think of something better later
Audience: The primary quality of the game’s audience is the capacity to own the correct
mobile software necessary to play the game. Therefore, the audience must have enough
money to own the appropriate devices and renew data periodically. While technically open
to everyone, it is more likely that someone from a C1 to an A-Class background would have
the resources available to sustain the game. When it comes to age, the ideal target group is
teenagers and adults, so those aged 15-45. As it is on a mobile platform, it can be accessed
by someone of any gender, race, and sexuality, the only condition being that they have
enough money to pay to play the game.
Who is your audience? Be very detailed; age, gender, social status, psychographic etc. Use the
Audience Classifications PowerPoint on Blackboard to help you develop this section.
Why would your project appeal to this person? Discuss each audience element in relation to
content (why would your product appeal to the age group? Why would your product appeal to the
gender? Etc.)
Rationale (approx. 100 words): I possess an in-depth understanding of the type of game
that I’m trying to create, having been a long-time fan of numerous similar products, which
are displayed in my Initial Plansand Research PowerPoint documents. I am well aware of
the stylistic and mechanical elements that such products are required to have in order to
succeed commercially, and how the more notable of the researched products have
employed these elementsfor their benefit. I believe my Photoshop skills are the best when I
am concerned with creating a still image, and I have improved enough that I can confidently
handle the rote animation procedures that this project requires.
Review your progress throughout the year- what video game and Photoshop skills and knowledge
have you acquired? How will you use those skills?
What was your advergame and how will it have a direct impact upon your project?
Project Concept (approx. 200 words): Overall, the game is based on the theory of bringing
together aspects of multiple contrasting and opposing genres, and then structuring them
so that they combine into something greater than what they would capable of within their
own domains. For example, using elementsof superhero fiction and the rolling twenties to
create superpowered gangsters. In terms of a story, the game takes place within a book
that contains literal worlds, represented as stories, that are blending together and derailing
the plot, leading to catastrophic changes. As such, the book creates the Index, the player
character, who is tasked with bringing order to the various worlds, gaining many alliesand
enemiesin the process. In terms of gameplay, it is styled off of various JRPG titles, the
most recent of which are generally based on a mobile platform, and are notable for their in-
depth storytelling, unique characters and scenarios, and high-end production value. The
main concept is gathering an army of ‘units’, the allied characters, introduced either
through the main storyline or special events, and figuring out how their skills and
playstyles best complement one another, which can be enhanced by using equippable
items that are either dropped by enemiesor bought at the in-game store.
What is the concept for your project and what are you going to make?
What research will you need to conduct and how will it help you make your project/
Evaluation (approx. 50 words): The main areas of evaluation I need to focus on are how well
the game emulatesthe appropriate genre conventions, both in the story and in the
gameplay, and how original the completed product comes off as. Personally, the methods I
employed to create the product will also be reviewed, to see what worked well and what
could’ve been done better to enhance the project.
How do you plan to evaluate the work? Reference conducting on-going evaluation (Production
Reflections) and your final self-reflection (Evaluation), analysing your work and its outcomes.
