2. Inspiration
My inspiration for the music video was I like to visualise music when I
am listening to music, I have also been watching lots of music videos
and looking at the different camera shots and different editing style
and techniques.
The editing and camera shots are very important since they make the
video but after making my original music video, I now know more
premier pro techniques as well as different camera shots and knowing
what works well and what doesn’t work as well in the footage as well
as the style of music being completely different.

I have developed skills on premier pro and camera work through recent
projects like the music video project and my most recent adventure project.
In the music video project I learnt most of my editing skills and all of my
camera work skills from doing this, the editing taught me different effects
and overlays and made me a lot more confident with my work and my
editing ability but this work didn’t have much audio work with it all I had was
the track. The camera work was difficult since I didn’t know how to really do
it this gave to aggressive swaying motion that was used, and with not many
varying angles.
In the adventure project I did a lot of sound editing and placing them in the
right place to create the foley effects work I am hoping that I will be able to
use it during my project.

4. Why I chose to do this project
I chose to do this project because I enjoyed making a music video last
time, but I felt like I was very restricted on production time so now I will
have more time to get footage and edit footage this will give me time
to experiment with new ideas as well as editing and camera shots.

5. Research of artists music videos
The style of nascar aloe music videos is very heavily punk inspired with
heavy elements of hip hop and rap. The way that nascar aloe moves in
music videos is very zombie like and doesn’t seem natural and adds
onto the punk aesthetic. The editing of the music videos is to make
them look vhs or very distorted and with cut out piece of paper being
used in a similar way to the sex pistols logo. The camera work is done in
time and in motion with the actions of nascar aloe.

The common features throughout the mood board are the dark tones
throughout all the pictures with colours being washed out or
suppressed which allows bright colours like pink or red to come
through, another common feature throughout the mood board is the
style of the pictures and the desaturation of them this gives the images
an old retro style to them.

The mood boards common features in my mood board pictures are the
dark themes the images and the dark lighting with a couple prime
colours being used to add distortion, also all the picture with people
are close shots which shows that I should use them in my videos, the
distorted images show that stong lours should just be able to be show
though keep theme but add a retro effect. The top image with he cut
out paper I feel runs through the punk style and would suit this
aesthetic of the video.

9. Plan
• Start recording asap once story board and locations is complete
• Start editing and placing the footage together whilst recording is
going on
• Once all footage has been recorded then start adding effects to the
work like the vhs effect and other add on
• The last 3 weeks of production should just be editing and all recording
should have been done in the 2 weeks the majority of the time
should be spent editing and refining the work

10. Ideas
The video could have lots of panning
shots giving the video a slower pace
and lots of effects that can be
overlayed to capture audience
attention, this video would be based
around the effects and how they flow
together.
The video could be very motion based
with a lot transition and the work be done
by the camera and the motion of the
actor to create the video and there being
little editing with it being used to just put
clips together
The video could have a mixture of editing
and camera work using effects to match
with the motion of the actor and the
camera so that they work together but to
keep a balance of both effects and camera
work and the editing should complement
the visuals.
The video could have fast moving shots
of the actor and lots of effects and
editing added into the video and
animations being added into the video

11. Other ideas
The intro would be a jump cut of different shots put together with the base of the beat.
"I'm running running" Then there would a panning shot of the actor doing actions towards the
camera, then when he changes off the line it's a shot following him as he jumps over a fence and
following him through bushes. "I don't want to hide I just want to lie next to you" after
following actor through bushes there is two of him the one that was being followed and a new one
standing in a clearing and he start doing actions towards the camera where he stars doing actions
toward the camera. "demons in my mind think I'll be alright I'm next to you" low shots with dark
lighting spinning and focusing on the actor who is making devil horns on his head with his hands. I
don't get no ego" side profile the shadow of the actor head banging with animations being quickly
overlayed with animations. "everything just me I wish you could see I got all this love baby girl, and
you can have it all for free" actor doing actions as cut out of his face is being animated. " I used to
have some friends, but they are all dead to me and when they turn their back on me that’s
something I can't believe" doing actions until the end of the bar then actor freezes. "I guess they
switched up on me I guess they switched up claiming they got love for me, but they don't care at all
they won't get no love from me she's the only one" slow motion of the actor collapsing. "P-P-
PLEASE D-D-DON’T S-S-SWITCH UP ON ME P-P-PLEASE D-D-DON’T S-S-SWITCH UP ON ME P-P-

Whlist beat is only playing panning shot coming away from actor sat on
a fence whilst it is dark around
“I'm running running I'm running running all the way home all the way

Actor runs down road towards camera as camera keeps moving away
from him till eventually unstabilising and falling.

Fast moving panning shot then cutting to actor lying on ground as
drawing is done next to them

multiple different versions of the actor will be doing different actions
at the same time to imitate the different voices but from one person

Following the actor and watching what they are doing with a vhs effect
over the footage and when the beat pauses the actor stop what there
doing and looks around then after the pause they continue.
“I used to have some friends but they all dead to me cos when they
turned there backs on me that was something I can’t believe”
Actor doing action towards the camera but the effects become
gradually more distorted.

Slow down and up close shots of actor slowly becoming more and
more distorted.

Actor is circled by camera and is seen hitting thing whilst running then
jump to different shots of him in alley ways or fields. As this is
happening the footage continually gets more distorted until it ends
when the actor is just looking over the camera.

I will write a production log documenting everything that I put into
my work and will update it every day of production along with filling in
a forms document every day which will be an overall view of my
production whilst my production log will go into deep evaluation of
techniques and what things I added and how footage was taken .
