Main area of activity:
Reference your medium you will mostly work in; Graphic design, Film, Photography,
Interactive/Video Game etc.
I will be working on a short Animation that will be made up of digital animation (working within
Adobe Animate, Adobe Photoshop, and Blender) I within Photoshop I will make pixel animations
using the pencil tool, but I may also use it’s image editing capabilities in some way.
Rationale: 150 words approx.
Review your progress throughout the 2 years- what products have you made and what skills and
knowledge have you acquired? How will you use those skills?
What was your previous, similar production and how will it have a direct impact upon your project?
Over the time of this course, I have learnt a number of techniques. Most of my skills to do with
animation come from my year 1 FMP and the video game project. In the video game project, I
learnt basic 2D animation concepts and tweening techniques which I will mainly use for
backgrounds. In terms of creating tone and immersion the skills I pick up on the audio project will
prove useful as in this project I learnt how to use Adobe Audition. I will use audio effects such as
reverb to convey what environment the protagonist is in without having actually show the
surrounding on screening. I will also make use of the Audition’s Distortion effects and Guitar-Suite
effects to create a harsh robotic voice which will probably be utilized in the brainwashing
sequence. In my year 1 one FMP I learnt about the correct number of frames to use when wanting
to convey the speed and fluidity of an action or movement. I will consider using a much higher
frame rate in this FMP than I did in last year’s FMP.
Project Concept: 200 words approx.
What is the concept for your project and what are you going to make?
What research will you need to conduct and how will it help you make your project?
I will start by stating the basic story I plan to create so far.
The animation will set around the early to mid twenty-third century and will take place in an
unknown industrial zone in desert. The context behind the story is that earth has essentially
become a large factory in which the human race is harvested for their organs and some humans
have even been bred with animals creating human-animal hybrids. The reason for this is that the
ultra-rich have fled earth via rocketship due to overpopulation, lack of resources, and sea levels
rising. The ultra-rich need an infinite number of resources to supply their break away civilisations in
space which is has grown rapidly over the centuries. The hybrid meat from the factories and
resources mined by through slave is transported to the spaceships. This backstory will be shown
as scrolling text similar to the Star Wars films and narration at the beginning of my animation.
There are some who have escaped the factories and slave camps who wander the desert. The
animation will start with the wandering the desert whilst fighting off hordes of hybrids. He teams up
with a group of rebels who have created an army of brainwashed super humans and they plan to
use them to raid a cargo spaceship that leaves earth every 100 years. The protagonist job is to
raid the cargo spaceship and when it has been cleared of enemies, he must kill the super soldiers
as they are too unpredictable.

How will the project be evaluated and reviewed: 150 words approx.
How do you plan to evaluate the work? Reference conducting on-going evaluation (Production
Reflections) and your final self-reflection (Evaluation), analysing your work and its outcomes.
How will this process help developing your working practices as you continue with your
study/media career?
I will mainly evaluate my work compared to the work of professionals in the same medium as their
product will the best example as what to aim for so I should aim to get my product as similar to
theirs as possible. The comparison between mine and other people’s products will take place in
the Evaluation section. I will also use a peer feedback to evaluate my work, I will ask others on my
course what they think of my work. The production reflection is particularly useful as it allows me to
focus in on specific areas and contemplate effective this process and if it could be improved upon.
