LSC FOOTBALL PLAYOFFS SET
Texas A&M-Commerce won its 22nd Lone Star Conference with a perfect 6-0 league record to claim the top
seed in the upcoming conference playoffs.
A&M-C will host Angelo State in one of the championship bracket games on November 7. On the other side
of the title bracket, Midwestern State hosts Eastern New Mexico. The Week 10 winners meet for the playoff
title in Week 11, while the Week 10 losers will meet for third place.
The other half of the playoff field includes the remaining three teams and Oklahoma Panhandle State with
No. 5 West Texas A&M at OPSU and No. 7 Texas A&M-Kingsville at No. 6 Tarleton State in Week 10. The 7-6
winner plays at No. 5 for fifth-place in Week 11, while the 6-7 loser hosts OPSU.
The third through fifth seeds were determined by a three-way coin flip after ASU, ENMU and WT all had
identical 3-3 conference records. A video conference call was held Sunday morning with athletic directors and
coaches from each of the teams. The Greyhounds won the coin flip for the third seed, while the Rams are the
fourth seed by virtue of their win over the Buffs.
LSC FOOTBALL
LSC football teams are 34-27 overall this season. The squads are 9-1 combined versus the Great Lakes
Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Great Lakes Valley Conference and Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference
teams, which are also in NCAA Super Regional Four.
PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
OFFENSIVE
Xavier Amey, West Texas A&M University, SR, WR, Sacramento, Calif., Grant HS
Amey had a career-high 242 yards receiving with two touchdowns on seven catches in the Buffs’ thrilling 52-42
victory over rival Eastern New Mexico Saturday as WT reclaimed the Wagon Wheel for the first time in three
years. Amey had a career-long reception of 89 yards for a score. It marked the fourth-most receiving yards in
NCAA Division II this season and the most receiving yards in a game for the Buffs since Jeremy Watson had 269
at Angelo State last year. The 89-yarder also marked the longest since Stephen Burton had a 99-yarder against
Tarleton State in 2010. It marked Amey’s first two-touchdown receiving game, most catches in a game, and
second career game of over 100 yards receiving.
DEFENSIVE
Chazz Slatinsky, West Texas A&M University, FR, LB, Forney, Texas, Forney HS

The kickoff return for a touchdown was the first for MSU since 2003 as Jerry amassed 176 yards on five returns
-- the second most in a single game in school history. The 91-yard kick return was also the fourth best for an

all season. He also registered a 47-yard kick return in the fourth quarter.
Harrison Stewart, Texas A&M University - Commerce, threw for 432 yards on FCS ranked No. 8 Sam Houston
State. The Bearkats entered play on the weekend allowing just 177 yards per game through the air, which
ranked them 20th in passing yards allowed in the FCS. Stewart directed the Lions to the near upset with 432
yards, the second most give up by Sam Houston State on the season missing the season-high by only five
yards, which came in the team’s opener at Texas Tech. Stewart’s 432 yards is the most in the LSC this season.
Before an interception on his last pass of the game in the fourth quarter against the Bearkats, he had gone
205 passing attempts without a pick. Stewart has surpassed the 2,000-yard mark in 2015. He is the second
straight Lion quarterback to throw for over 2,000 yards in season following Tyrik Rollison’s 3,764 yards. All

Integrity | Tradition | Academic Excellence | LONE STAR CONFERENCE | Community | Respect | Commitment LSC FOOTBALL PLAYOFFS SET Texas A&M-Commerce won its 22nd Lone Star Conference with a perfect 6-0 league record to claim the top seed in the upcoming conference playoffs. A&M-C will host Angelo State in one of the championship bracket games on November 7. On the other side of the title bracket, Midwestern State hosts Eastern New Mexico. The Week 10 winners meet for the playoff title in Week 11, while the Week 10 losers will meet for third place. The other half of the playoff field includes the remaining three teams and Oklahoma Panhandle State with No. 5 West Texas A&M at OPSU and No. 7 Texas A&M-Kingsville at No. 6 Tarleton State in Week 10. The 7-6 winner plays at No. 5 for fifth-place in Week 11, while the 6-7 loser hosts OPSU. The third through fifth seeds were determined by a three-way coin flip after ASU, ENMU and WT all had identical 3-3 conference records. A video conference call was held Sunday morning with athletic directors and coaches from each of the teams. The Greyhounds won the coin flip for the third seed, while the Rams are the fourth seed by virtue of their win over the Buffs. LSC FOOTBALL LSC football teams are 34-27 overall this season. The squads are 9-1 combined versus the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Great Lakes Valley Conference and Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference teams, which are also in NCAA Super Regional Four. PLAYERS OF THE WEEK OFFENSIVE Xavier Amey, West Texas A&M University, SR, WR, Sacramento, Calif., Grant HS Amey had a career-high 242 yards receiving with two touchdowns on seven catches in the Buffs’ thrilling 52-42 victory over rival Eastern New Mexico Saturday as WT reclaimed the Wagon Wheel for the first time in three years. Amey had a career-long reception of 89 yards for a score. It marked the fourth-most receiving yards in NCAA Division II this season and the most receiving yards in a game for the Buffs since Jeremy Watson had 269 at Angelo State last year. The 89-yarder also marked the longest since Stephen Burton had a 99-yarder against Tarleton State in 2010. It marked Amey’s first two-touchdown receiving game, most catches in a game, and second career game of over 100 yards receiving. DEFENSIVE Chazz Slatinsky, West Texas A&M University, FR, LB, Forney, Texas, Forney HS Slatinsky earned his first career start this past week and did not disappoint as he led the team with 13 total tackles in the Buffs’ thrilling 52-42 win over rival Eastern New Mexico regaining the Wagon Wheel for the first time in three years.
