LSC MEN’S BASKETBALL
UT Permian Basin and West Texas A&M remain tied for first in Lone Star Conference standings with matching 14-2
league records.
LSC action wraps up this week with games on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday as teams compete for a league
championship berth and seeding.
The LSC champion will be the regular season winner determined by league games, while the postseason tournament
winner is designated as LSC Tournament Champion and earns the conference’s automatic qualification. The top eight
teams in the final conference standings qualify for the postseason tournament set for March 1-4, 2018, at Dr Pepper
Arena in Frisco, Texas.
The LSC men have a 145-112 overall record so far this season. In the NCAA South Central Region, the men’s teams
are currently 21-14 combined versus Heartland Conference teams and 16-6 against the Rocky Mountain Athletic
Conference.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
OFFENSIVE
Daeshon Francis, UT Permian Basin, SR, Guard, Indianapolis, Ind., Howard College
Francis helped the Falcons to a pair of wins over Angelo State and Texas A&M Kingsville this past week. He averaged 23
points on 15-25 shooting (60 percent), hit 16-18 at the free throw line, averaged 9.5 rebounds and had 13 assists. He
scored 22 points with 14 rebounds and eight assists in a 103-74 win over Angelo State, and came back with 24 points,
five rebounds, five assists and three steals in a 92-78 win over Texas A&M Kingsville. He currently leads the LSC in
scoring, averaging 21.3 points per game.
DEFENSIVE
Gaige Prim, West Texas A&M University, FR, Guard, Aurora, Colo., Grandview HS
Prim averaged a double-double for the week at 16.5 points and 11.0 rebounds as he posted his eighth double-double of
the season with a career-high 20 points and tied his career-high with 15 rebounds in the 120-88 win over Angelo State
on Saturday. He went 11 of 19 from the field for the week (.579), while going a team-high 11 of 14 from the line (.786)
with one assist and one block. Prim pulled down a team-high 10 offensive rebounds and 12 on the defensive end for the
week as he accounted for 22 of 78 total rebounds for the Buffs on the week.

OTHER TOP PERFORMERS
Brandon Neel, Midwestern State University, erupted for a career-high 32 points leading Midwestern State to a
critical road win at Eastern New Mexico to clinch a spot in the Lone Star Conference Postseason Tournament. The
league's No. 3 scorer at 18.9 points per game finished off the week with his third double-double of the season going for
19 points, 11 rebounds and four assists Saturday at Western New Mexico. Neel scored 23 points in the first half in the
89-74 win at ENMU and finished with a season-best 6-of-8 marksmanship from beyond the arc. The 32 points were the
most since Kevin Grayer torched Texas A&M-Commerce for 33 in the 2013 LSC Postseason Tournament quarterfinals.
For the week, Neel posted averages of 25.5 points and six rebounds while shooting 47.5 percent from the field (19-of-
40) and 63.6 percent from 3-point range (7-of-11). He added four steals and blocked a shot.
Willie McCray, Western New Mexico, put together back-to-back big offensive scoring games against Cameron and
Midwestern State. He scored 24 points in both games, making over 50 percent from the field, 40 percent from three,
brought down eight rebounds, dished out 10 assists and added three steals. Against Cameron, he made 9-19 from the
field and had three rebounds and two steals. In the win over Midwestern State, he went 8-14 from the field, 3-7 from
three, with five rebounds, six assists and a steal.
JV Long, Cameron University, led the Aggie men to their first conference road sweep of the season as they took
down both Western and Easter New Mexico last week. The junior guard averaged 21 points, seven rebounds, and four
assists, while shooting 60 percent from the field over the two games. Long kicked the week off by scoring a career-high
25 points on 10-13 shooting against the Mustangs. He then followed that up with 17 points, 15 in the second half alone,
in the comeback win over the Greyhounds. Long is now just 53 points away from reaching the 1,000 point milestone. He
is also now second in career assists in CU program history, with 353, passing former LSC Player of the Year and All-
American Craig Foster.
David Chavlovich, West Texas A&M University, finished his regular season home career in stellar fashion as he
averaged 20.0 points, shooting 15 of 31 from the field (.484) with four triples and 6 of 8 from the line helping WT to a
pair of wins over Texas A&M-Kingsville and Angelo State, running WT's winning streak to eight games for the third time
this season. Chavlovich dropped 29 points in the 120-88 win over Angelo State on Saturday. He narrowly missed a
double-double with nine assists, tying his season-high in the game. He went 11 of 21 from the field against ASU,
marking the fourth time this season of double-digit made field goals in a game. Chavlovich has scored 20 or more points
13 times this season and leads the team averaging 20.2 points per game.
Corinthian Ramsey, Tarleton State University, had an historic week statistically for Tarleton, all while leading the
Texans to a pair of wins and extending a season-long win streak to five games. Ramsey averaged 17 points, 11 assists,
5.5 rebounds, and 3 steals per game in wins over Texas A&M-Commerce and Northern New Mexico. In the Tuesday
night matchup against A&M-Commerce that determined third place in the LSC, Ramsey scored a game-high 18 points to
go with six assists in a 77-73 win. Ramsey scored 13 of his 18 points in the second half - including eight points in the final
eight minutes to clinch the win. In a 98-50 win over Northern New Mexico, Ramsey accomplished a feat that's only been
repeated once in school history. Ramsey nearly recorded the first triple-double in school history with 16 points, 16
assists, 8 rebounds, and 4 steals in just 26 minutes of play. Ramsey's 16 assists are the second most in school history, the
record being 18 set back in 1995. Ramsey had a double-double in the first half alone with 13 points and 11 assists. With
his 16 points and 16 assists, Ramsey accounted for 52 of Tarleton's 98 points, which single-handedly outscored Northern
New Mexico, 52-50."
Joseph Williams-Powell, Texas A&M University-Commerce, had 15 points in 21 minutes in the Lions' narrow loss to
Tarleton State. He shot 67 percent from the field and 75 percent from the free throw line, leading the team in scoring.
He also had two offensive rebounds.
Zach Parker, Eastern New Mexico University, averaged 12.5 points per game and shot .476 from the floor in
Eastern's final two home games. He scored 14 points against Midwestern State and followed with an 11-point
performance against Cameron. Parker also facilitated the offense with three assists.
Jon-Reese Woodson, Western New Mexico, came up large on the defensive end in the win against Midwestern
State, as his fifth block of the game sealed the win. His five blocks against MSU tied for the most blocks in a single game
in the conference this year, as he also went for a double-double with 11 points on 5-12 shooting and 10 rebounds, with
six coming on the defensive end. He added three points, three rebounds, a block and a steal against Cameron. He tallied
14 points, 13 rebounds, six blocks and a steal for the week.
Josh Hawley, Tarleton State University, continues to be a defensive force in leading the turnaround for Tarleton.
Hawley averaged 11.5 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 blocks in a pair of wins over Texas A&M-Commerce and
Northern New Mexico. Hawley and the Texan defense held teams to 61.5 points on just 39 percent shooting, including
31 percent on 3-pointers. In a game that determined third place in the LSC, Hawley scored 7 points, had a game-high 6
rebounds, to go with 2 blocks and a steal. Hawley followed up with 16 points, a career-high 5 steals and 2 blocks in just
16 minutes in a 98-50 win over Northern New Mexico. Hawley and the Texans held the Eagles to 31 percent shooting
and also limited them to just 16 first-half points where he played the majority of his minutes in a one-sided game."
Arcaim Lallemand, Eastern New Mexico University, helped lead a defensive effort by the Hounds last week with five
blocked shots. He also pulled down nine defensive rebounds. Lallemand's defense helped limit Cameron to .265 from
the floor and .182 from three-point range in the first half.
Willie Rooks, Texas A&M University-Commerce, had three blocks and a steal in the Lions' narrow loss to Tarleton
State. He helped fuel a near comeback for the Lions as they battled from 23 points down to trail by just two with less
than five seconds left in the game. He also had 14 points on the offensive end and three assists.
LSC NOTES (Submitted by LSC SID’s)
Angelo State
Angelo State dropped a pair of road games to nationally ranked UT Permian Basin and West Texas A&M. The Rams now
sit at 17-9 overall and 8-8 in the conference. The team will enter its last week of regular season play maintaining its fifth
spot in the LSC standings. The Rams will close out the 2017-18 regular season playing host to Eastern New Mexico and
Western New Mexico, as it will also celebrate its senior class.
Cameron
The Aggie men swept their first conference road trip of the season as they took down Western New Mexico and Eastern
New Mexico this past week. JV Long led the CU charge against the mustangs, scoring a career-high 25 points on the way
to an 82-78 win. Long and Delano Jones played the heroes in the contest against the Greyhounds as they combined to
score 28 of CU's 35 points in the second half to lead the 60-58 comeback win.
Eastern New Mexico
The Eastern New Mexico men's basketball team concluded the home portion of its schedule last week, with home
games against Midwestern State and Cameron. The Greyhounds nearly pulled out a dramatic win over Cameron on
Lamarquis Thompson's go-ahead three-point bucket with 13 seconds left. Cameron rallied with a late trey of their own.
The Hounds are still in solid position to qualify for the Lone Star Conference tournament and have two road games this
week to further strength their hold on a playoff spot. They will visit Angelo State on Thursday and Texas A&M-Kingsville
on Saturday.
Midwestern State
Midwestern State split games against Eastern New Mexico and Western New Mexico in its final road trip of the season...
The Mustangs are assured a spot in next week's Lone Star Conference Postseason Tournament as either the No. 6, 7 or 8
seed... Senior guard Brandon Neel erupted for a career-high 32 points in leading the Mustangs to an 89-74 win Thursday
at Eastern New Mexico... Neel ranks third in the LSC in scoring at 18.9 points per game... Neel has scored at least 20
points in 10 games this season... Senior guard Devante Pullum notched his fifth 20-point effort of the season leading
MSU with 23 points on 8-of-14 shooting with three 3-pointers in Saturday's loss at Western New Mexico... Pullum has
knocked down 28 of his last 30 free throws (93.3 percent) over his last 10 games and is leading the LSC at 86.2 percent
for the season...
Tarleton State
2-0 last week.
Texas A&M-Commerce
The Lions lost to Tarleton State on Tuesday in their lone game of the week. The team battled back from more than 20
points down to get back in the game late but were unable to complete the comeback. The Lions finish their regular
season by hosting West Texas A&M on Thursday and UT Permian Basin on Saturday.
Texas A&M-Kingsville
0-2 last week.
UT Permian Basin
UT Permian Basin finished its home schedule with two conference wins over Angelo State and Texas A&M-Kingsville.
UTPB got out to a hot start on Thursday before ASU was able to cut the lead to 32-31. UTPB then went on an 18-7 run
to end the first half before a 14-3 run to open up the second half for the 103-74 victory. The team finished with 31
assists on 38 made field goals. Saturday was senior day against TAMUK which resulted in a 92-78 UTPB win. UTPB held
TAMUK to 33.3 percent shooting in the first half to build a 51-29 lead. UTPB finished the game with 62.7 percent
shooting. Daeshon Francis had another big week averaging 23 points, 9.5 rebounds and getting 13 assists. Josh Morris
finished the week averaging 23 points on 76 percent shooting. Sammy Allen averaged 14.5 points and 12.5 rebounds
registering two double-doubles. James McPherson added 19.5 points per game going 9-15 from three-point range.
West Texas A&M
The No. 8-ranked Buffs are off to their best start in school history with a 24-2 record as the Buffs remained tied for first
heading into the final week of the regular season at 14-2 in conference play as is UT Permian Basin...The Buffs blasted
Angelo State 120-88 on Saturday for the most points scored by WT since 1999 and the most in the First United Bank
Center between two teams since the building opened in 2002...The 120 points were the most against one team in
conference play since 127 against Abilene Christian in 1991...For the week, the Buffs shot a season-high .538 from the
field on 71 of 132, while going 29 of 64 (.453) from beyond the arc and 37 of 46 (.804) from the line...The Buffs averaged
39.0 rebounds per game and averaged a season-high 104 points, while holding TAMUK and Angelo State to a 74.0
average...The Javelinas and Rams shot .464 from the field and .350 from beyond the arc, while going 30 of 46 from the
line (.652) and averaging 29.5 rebounds per game...WT forced 29 turnovers and 12 steals with four blocks...The Buffs
close the 2017-18 regular season at Texas A&M-Commerce on Thursday and at Tarleton State on Saturday...WT can be
no worse than the No. 2-seed in the upcoming Lone Star Conference Championship, Mar. 2-4 at Dr Pepper Arena in
Frisco, Texas.
Western New Mexico
The Mustangs came close to picking up a pair of wins this week, as they nearly rallied late against Cameron and then
held off Midwestern State in a classic back-and-forth battle down the stretch that ended when Jon-Reese Woodson
came up with the block at the end for the two-point win. Willie McCray, Haneef Vaughn-Wilson and Latrell Spivey all
averaged in double-figures scoring for the week. McCray put together back-to-back big offensive scoring games against
Cameron and Midwestern State. He scored 24 points in both games, making over 50 percent from the field, 40 percent
from three, brought down eight rebounds, dished out 10 assists and added three steals. Against Cameron, he made 9-19
from the field and had three rebounds and two steals. In the win over Midwestern State, he went 8-14 from the field, 3-
7 from three, with five rebounds, six assists and a steal. Woodson came up large on the defensive end in the win against
Midwestern State, as his fifth block of the game sealed the win. His five blocks against MSU tied for the most blocks in a
single game in the conference this year, as he also went for a double-double with 11 points on 5-12 shooting and 10
rebounds, with six coming on the defensive end. He added three points, three rebounds, a block and a steal against
Cameron. He tallied 14 points, 13 rebounds, six blocks and a steal for the week.

LSC action wraps up this week with games on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday as teams compete for a league championship berth and seeding. The LSC champion will be the regular season winner determined by league games, while the postseason tournament winner is designated as LSC Tournament Champion and earns the conference’s automatic qualification. The top eight teams in the final conference standings qualify for the postseason tournament set for March 1-4, 2018, at Dr Pepper Arena in Frisco, Texas. The LSC men have a 145-112 overall record so far this season. In the NCAA South Central Region, the men’s teams are currently 21-14 combined versus Heartland Conference teams and 16-6 against the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. LSC schedule and results available here: http://www.lonestarconference.org/calendar.aspx?path=mbball&& PLAYERS OF THE WEEK OFFENSIVE Daeshon Francis, UT Permian Basin, SR, Guard, Indianapolis, Ind., Howard College Francis helped the Falcons to a pair of wins over Angelo State and Texas A&M Kingsville this past week. He averaged 23 points on 15-25 shooting (60 percent), hit 16-18 at the free throw line, averaged 9.5 rebounds and had 13 assists. He scored 22 points with 14 rebounds and eight assists in a 103-74 win over Angelo State, and came back with 24 points, five rebounds, five assists and three steals in a 92-78 win over Texas A&M Kingsville. He currently leads the LSC in scoring, averaging 21.3 points per game. DEFENSIVE Gaige Prim, West Texas A&M University, FR, Guard, Aurora, Colo., Grandview HS Prim averaged a double-double for the week at 16.5 points and 11.0 rebounds as he posted his eighth double-double of the season with a career-high 20 points and tied his career-high with 15 rebounds in the 120-88 win over Angelo State on Saturday. He went 11 of 19 from the field for the week (.579), while going a team-high 11 of 14 from the line (.786) with one assist and one block. Prim pulled down a team-high 10 offensive rebounds and 12 on the defensive end for the week as he accounted for 22 of 78 total rebounds for the Buffs on the week. WEEKLY AWARDS

The league's No. 3 scorer at 18.9 points per game finished off the week with his third double-double of the season going for 19 points, 11 rebounds and four assists Saturday at Western New Mexico. Neel scored 23 points in the first half in the 89-74 win at ENMU and finished with a season-best 6-of-8 marksmanship from beyond the arc. The 32 points were the most since Kevin Grayer torched Texas A&M-Commerce for 33 in the 2013 LSC Postseason Tournament quarterfinals. For the week, Neel posted averages of 25.5 points and six rebounds while shooting 47.5 percent from the field (19-of- 40) and 63.6 percent from 3-point range (7-of-11). He added four steals and blocked a shot. Willie McCray, Western New Mexico, put together back-to-back big offensive scoring games against Cameron and Midwestern State. He scored 24 points in both games, making over 50 percent from the field, 40 percent from three, brought down eight rebounds, dished out 10 assists and added three steals. Against Cameron, he made 9-19 from the field and had three rebounds and two steals. In the win over Midwestern State, he went 8-14 from the field, 3-7 from three, with five rebounds, six assists and a steal.
  • 3. JV Long, Cameron University, led the Aggie men to their first conference road sweep of the season as they took down both Western and Easter New Mexico last week. The junior guard averaged 21 points, seven rebounds, and four assists, while shooting 60 percent from the field over the two games. Long kicked the week off by scoring a career-high 25 points on 10-13 shooting against the Mustangs. He then followed that up with 17 points, 15 in the second half alone, in the comeback win over the Greyhounds. Long is now just 53 points away from reaching the 1,000 point milestone. He is also now second in career assists in CU program history, with 353, passing former LSC Player of the Year and All- American Craig Foster. David Chavlovich, West Texas A&M University, finished his regular season home career in stellar fashion as he averaged 20.0 points, shooting 15 of 31 from the field (.484) with four triples and 6 of 8 from the line helping WT to a pair of wins over Texas A&M-Kingsville and Angelo State, running WT's winning streak to eight games for the third time this season. Chavlovich dropped 29 points in the 120-88 win over Angelo State on Saturday. He narrowly missed a double-double with nine assists, tying his season-high in the game. He went 11 of 21 from the field against ASU, marking the fourth time this season of double-digit made field goals in a game. Chavlovich has scored 20 or more points 13 times this season and leads the team averaging 20.2 points per game. Corinthian Ramsey, Tarleton State University, had an historic week statistically for Tarleton, all while leading the Texans to a pair of wins and extending a season-long win streak to five games. Ramsey averaged 17 points, 11 assists, 5.5 rebounds, and 3 steals per game in wins over Texas A&M-Commerce and Northern New Mexico. In the Tuesday night matchup against A&M-Commerce that determined third place in the LSC, Ramsey scored a game-high 18 points to go with six assists in a 77-73 win. Ramsey scored 13 of his 18 points in the second half - including eight points in the final eight minutes to clinch the win. In a 98-50 win over Northern New Mexico, Ramsey accomplished a feat that's only been repeated once in school history. Ramsey nearly recorded the first triple-double in school history with 16 points, 16 assists, 8 rebounds, and 4 steals in just 26 minutes of play. Ramsey's 16 assists are the second most in school history, the record being 18 set back in 1995. Ramsey had a double-double in the first half alone with 13 points and 11 assists. With his 16 points and 16 assists, Ramsey accounted for 52 of Tarleton's 98 points, which single-handedly outscored Northern New Mexico, 52-50." Joseph Williams-Powell, Texas A&M University-Commerce, had 15 points in 21 minutes in the Lions' narrow loss to Tarleton State. He shot 67 percent from the field and 75 percent from the free throw line, leading the team in scoring. He also had two offensive rebounds. Zach Parker, Eastern New Mexico University, averaged 12.5 points per game and shot .476 from the floor in Eastern's final two home games. He scored 14 points against Midwestern State and followed with an 11-point performance against Cameron. Parker also facilitated the offense with three assists. Jon-Reese Woodson, Western New Mexico, came up large on the defensive end in the win against Midwestern State, as his fifth block of the game sealed the win. His five blocks against MSU tied for the most blocks in a single game in the conference this year, as he also went for a double-double with 11 points on 5-12 shooting and 10 rebounds, with six coming on the defensive end. He added three points, three rebounds, a block and a steal against Cameron. He tallied 14 points, 13 rebounds, six blocks and a steal for the week. Josh Hawley, Tarleton State University, continues to be a defensive force in leading the turnaround for Tarleton. Hawley averaged 11.5 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 blocks in a pair of wins over Texas A&M-Commerce and Northern New Mexico. Hawley and the Texan defense held teams to 61.5 points on just 39 percent shooting, including 31 percent on 3-pointers. In a game that determined third place in the LSC, Hawley scored 7 points, had a game-high 6 rebounds, to go with 2 blocks and a steal. Hawley followed up with 16 points, a career-high 5 steals and 2 blocks in just 16 minutes in a 98-50 win over Northern New Mexico. Hawley and the Texans held the Eagles to 31 percent shooting and also limited them to just 16 first-half points where he played the majority of his minutes in a one-sided game."
  • 4. Arcaim Lallemand, Eastern New Mexico University, helped lead a defensive effort by the Hounds last week with five blocked shots. He also pulled down nine defensive rebounds. Lallemand's defense helped limit Cameron to .265 from the floor and .182 from three-point range in the first half. Willie Rooks, Texas A&M University-Commerce, had three blocks and a steal in the Lions' narrow loss to Tarleton State. He helped fuel a near comeback for the Lions as they battled from 23 points down to trail by just two with less than five seconds left in the game. He also had 14 points on the offensive end and three assists. LSC NOTES (Submitted by LSC SID’s) Angelo State Angelo State dropped a pair of road games to nationally ranked UT Permian Basin and West Texas A&M. The Rams now sit at 17-9 overall and 8-8 in the conference. The team will enter its last week of regular season play maintaining its fifth spot in the LSC standings. The Rams will close out the 2017-18 regular season playing host to Eastern New Mexico and Western New Mexico, as it will also celebrate its senior class. Cameron The Aggie men swept their first conference road trip of the season as they took down Western New Mexico and Eastern New Mexico this past week. JV Long led the CU charge against the mustangs, scoring a career-high 25 points on the way to an 82-78 win. Long and Delano Jones played the heroes in the contest against the Greyhounds as they combined to score 28 of CU's 35 points in the second half to lead the 60-58 comeback win. Eastern New Mexico The Eastern New Mexico men's basketball team concluded the home portion of its schedule last week, with home games against Midwestern State and Cameron. The Greyhounds nearly pulled out a dramatic win over Cameron on Lamarquis Thompson's go-ahead three-point bucket with 13 seconds left. Cameron rallied with a late trey of their own. The Hounds are still in solid position to qualify for the Lone Star Conference tournament and have two road games this week to further strength their hold on a playoff spot. They will visit Angelo State on Thursday and Texas A&M-Kingsville on Saturday. Midwestern State Midwestern State split games against Eastern New Mexico and Western New Mexico in its final road trip of the season... The Mustangs are assured a spot in next week's Lone Star Conference Postseason Tournament as either the No. 6, 7 or 8 seed... Senior guard Brandon Neel erupted for a career-high 32 points in leading the Mustangs to an 89-74 win Thursday at Eastern New Mexico... Neel ranks third in the LSC in scoring at 18.9 points per game... Neel has scored at least 20 points in 10 games this season... Senior guard Devante Pullum notched his fifth 20-point effort of the season leading MSU with 23 points on 8-of-14 shooting with three 3-pointers in Saturday's loss at Western New Mexico... Pullum has knocked down 28 of his last 30 free throws (93.3 percent) over his last 10 games and is leading the LSC at 86.2 percent for the season... Tarleton State 2-0 last week. Texas A&M-Commerce The Lions lost to Tarleton State on Tuesday in their lone game of the week. The team battled back from more than 20 points down to get back in the game late but were unable to complete the comeback. The Lions finish their regular season by hosting West Texas A&M on Thursday and UT Permian Basin on Saturday.
  • 5. Texas A&M-Kingsville 0-2 last week. UT Permian Basin UT Permian Basin finished its home schedule with two conference wins over Angelo State and Texas A&M-Kingsville. UTPB got out to a hot start on Thursday before ASU was able to cut the lead to 32-31. UTPB then went on an 18-7 run to end the first half before a 14-3 run to open up the second half for the 103-74 victory. The team finished with 31 assists on 38 made field goals. Saturday was senior day against TAMUK which resulted in a 92-78 UTPB win. UTPB held TAMUK to 33.3 percent shooting in the first half to build a 51-29 lead. UTPB finished the game with 62.7 percent shooting. Daeshon Francis had another big week averaging 23 points, 9.5 rebounds and getting 13 assists. Josh Morris finished the week averaging 23 points on 76 percent shooting. Sammy Allen averaged 14.5 points and 12.5 rebounds registering two double-doubles. James McPherson added 19.5 points per game going 9-15 from three-point range. West Texas A&M The No. 8-ranked Buffs are off to their best start in school history with a 24-2 record as the Buffs remained tied for first heading into the final week of the regular season at 14-2 in conference play as is UT Permian Basin...The Buffs blasted Angelo State 120-88 on Saturday for the most points scored by WT since 1999 and the most in the First United Bank Center between two teams since the building opened in 2002...The 120 points were the most against one team in conference play since 127 against Abilene Christian in 1991...For the week, the Buffs shot a season-high .538 from the field on 71 of 132, while going 29 of 64 (.453) from beyond the arc and 37 of 46 (.804) from the line...The Buffs averaged 39.0 rebounds per game and averaged a season-high 104 points, while holding TAMUK and Angelo State to a 74.0 average...The Javelinas and Rams shot .464 from the field and .350 from beyond the arc, while going 30 of 46 from the line (.652) and averaging 29.5 rebounds per game...WT forced 29 turnovers and 12 steals with four blocks...The Buffs close the 2017-18 regular season at Texas A&M-Commerce on Thursday and at Tarleton State on Saturday...WT can be no worse than the No. 2-seed in the upcoming Lone Star Conference Championship, Mar. 2-4 at Dr Pepper Arena in Frisco, Texas. Western New Mexico The Mustangs came close to picking up a pair of wins this week, as they nearly rallied late against Cameron and then held off Midwestern State in a classic back-and-forth battle down the stretch that ended when Jon-Reese Woodson came up with the block at the end for the two-point win. Willie McCray, Haneef Vaughn-Wilson and Latrell Spivey all averaged in double-figures scoring for the week. McCray put together back-to-back big offensive scoring games against Cameron and Midwestern State. He scored 24 points in both games, making over 50 percent from the field, 40 percent from three, brought down eight rebounds, dished out 10 assists and added three steals. Against Cameron, he made 9-19 from the field and had three rebounds and two steals.
