3. RESEARCH
When researching I came across multiple example of the
one genre that I wanted to use, hip hop with societies
downfall. The research helped me find the song that I
could work with. Further in the research it helped me
plan and organise my video
4. PLANNING
While I planned I thought about what I did in my research
to help me and I came up with a complicated idea to
start with but as I got further I started to simplify my
work and it became easier as I worked on through as I
found pictures and videos that I could film myself on
royalty free or on Google.
I also asked Faith and Tegan to view my video during the
making to get their opinions on it at each stage.
5. TIME MANAGEMENT
To start with I began getting the PowerPoint done when I
had missed a couple of days so that I could catch up
with the class.
When I had finished the PowerPoint I began with the
music video files, what would it have in is and what suits
best.
Then I began piecing the video together with all the files
but the clip I filmed.
After a few weeks of editing the video with the files I
added and fixed the one that I filmed.
I reviewed it many times to make sure it all worked out
well and it did eventually in the end.
6. TECHNICAL QUALITIES -
CAMERA
I used my phone instead of a camera but it proved a slight difficulty
in taking the shot as I used a selfie-stick to balance it.
During editing I came across the difficulties of sometimes the file
would be recovered but I saved it to a full file so there’s no files that
need locating later
7. TECHNICAL QUALITIES –
EDITING/POST
During the editing post I would have to look closely at timings during
the music to ensure the words and pictures landed on the correct beat
and time of the lyric this took me over two weeks to get to be right and
I still asked classmates to check if they see it on the right part.
During editing I came across a few mis-edits but I quickly sorted them
seeing I missed timed or mis-placed the file.
8. AESTHETIC QUALITIES
The aesthetic qualities are the use that its not just
video and it more a slide show to the music which
works as its all on beat and is well fixed.
The different hues used for the filmed video brings
starts and ends to the video on a whole as it gives
different textures and thoughts to the meaning of
the video.
9. AUDIENCE APPEAL
This video was recreated to appeal for the older generation to see what
they have caused for the younger generation but also it’s a lesson to
the younger generations that society and everything that “controls”
their lives are only a facture in their decisions and what the learn they
teach other generations.
Every generation teaches the next something which can make a
positive or negative impact, mostly education or parents teaching the
kids what life is like to early causing that child to go of the rails and try
something that will help them de-stress leading them to drinking,
doing drugs or smoking at a young age.
11. FEEDBACK 1
What did you like about the product?
I like the way you used the colours and text at different stages with
the gradients.
The ending also with the words going in and out on the exact beat
and time makes it more watchable and interesting to intrigue me by
the end.
What improvements could have been made to the
product?
More shots with different settings instead of just one.
Faith
12. FEEDBACK 2
What did you like about the product?
I like how the lyrics within the music video are timed well
because the song is quite fast and has quite a fast tempo
throughout the song.
I also like the floral trail at the start of the music video, I
think it goes really well with the piano part at the start of
the song.
What improvements could have been made to the product?
I think that you could include a couple more filmed clips or
pictures that relate to at least a word in the lyrics and song.
Overall after reviewing the music video I thought that it was
really good and that the pictures and videos throughout the
project linked really well with the song. It is also enjoyable to
watch :)
Tegan
13. FEEDBACK 3
What did you like about the product?
I like how the music video didn’t use many shots of places, it makes it
different from the rest of the class. I like the song choice and how you
have created a lyric style video.
What improvements could have been made to the
product?
Some of the lyrics could have been shortened and edited to a
different shot.
Some of the images could have been less pixelated but altogether
really good :)
Jodie
