1. Production Log
Date What we need What we did
01.11.2015 Camera, Tripod, our band members: Lara,
Melissa and Jamie.
We filmed in the woods and
had many different shots of
the band. We got a lot of
footage of the band and got
many pictures of them for our
montage we are hoping to
create.
03.11.2015 Camera, Computer In today's lesson we decided
to upload all the footage we
took on Sunday onto the
computers. We also booked
the drama studio to film part of
the music video and saw other
potential spaces to film the
music video such as the
dance studio and the common
which is the woods near our
school that is convenient as
everyone would be able to get
there.

Today’s lesson I began
making to the polaroid’s on
Photoshop this is because it is
a main part of our album
cover, as well as a big part our
music video too so I wanted to
make sure that it was in the
process of being made. In
order to make the polaroid
pictures I looked at tutorials to
make sure that I could create
a good effect and that they
would look like polaroid’s, I
found a step by step tutorial
on how to make the pictures
look realistic.
06.11.2015 Computer and Photoshop I finished creating the polaroid
pictures frames and began
editing the song to make it
longer as it was only 2
minutes 36 seconds so we
decided to copy parts of the
verse and chorus and repeat
them nearer the end to add
time onto it, this took up most
2. part of the lesson as I wanted
to make sure that the edited
parts of the song was not
noticed therefore asking my
fellow peers on their opinion
and judgement.
10.11.2015 Computer, notebook, pen Today I decided to plan for
tomorrow's filming session
with our new band members.
this is because I wanted to
make sure that we got various
shots in order for us to make
sure we have a range to edit
with. I jotted down notes from
other indie music videos to get
some sort of idea of what to
record by having a look at
different music videos by
various bands.
11.11.2015 Camera, tripod, guitar, phone, band members:
Ollie, Phoebe and Chloe
In today's session we decided
to do some filming of the band
in the common, this was ideal
as all three were able to be in
the film. We were able to use
the setting of the waterfall and
forest which is typically seen
in indie music videos. We had
the band play as a group, we
had the lead singer do a verse
of lip syncing and our guitarist
to act out she's playing the
guitar, as our music video is
heavily performance based.
12.11.2015 Computer, Adobe Photoshop, Camera, Gallery In today’s two hours, during
lesson we uploaded both our
film and images so I could
began making the polaroid’s
for the album cover. As I had
made the polaroid’s frame in
the previous lesson it was
very simple to upload the
images onto the polaroid
frames and it was just a
matter of making this work
with the layout for the album
cover.
13.11.2015 Computer, Adobe Photoshop In the house lesson today I
continued working on the
album cover and the
polaroid’s for this, as I began
3. by adding various filters which
made the colour scheme
different to the taken images. I
wanted to do this to fit into the
indie genre as I thought the
filters I used work well for the
genre and I thought this was
important to do so because I
wanted to make sure it
appealed to my target
audience.
17.11.2015 Computer, Adobe Premier As for the past two lessons I
have been working on the
Album cover my partner asked
whether I could help her with
the music video and seeing all
the footage we do have to see
where this could be potentially
be placed within the music
video and how it would work
on the music video. I began by
looking at all the footage and
eliminating the footage which
is irrelevant and would not
work within the music video.
19.11.2015 Computer, Adobe Premier I decided to continue with last
lessons work by adding the
different clips onto premier so
that it is in time with the
songs. By doing this it allowed
me to see that there was more
filming which has been done
therefore having another
filming shoot on the following
Wednesday.
20.11.2015 Computer, Adobe Photoshop, Google docs As we needed more footage I
decided to look at the different
fonts we could use for our
album cover and poster. So
that I could add this onto the
album cover. I did this with my
partner on google docs so we
could choose which font is the
best to use.
24.11.2015 Computer, Adobe Photoshop As are shooting day was on
Wednesday I was unable to
work on the music video,
therefore I choose to work on
the front cover as I got all the
images I wanted to use
4. therefore positioning this on
the album cover. I also
booked the Drama studio on a
Wednesday.
25.11.2015 Computer, Camera, Tripod, Spotlight Today we done some more
filming of two band members,
the guitarist and the lead
singer as the drummer was
unable to attend. We went to
the drama studio and used the
spotlight so that we could use
a range of shots and that the
band look as if they are
performing on stage.
26.11.2015 Computer, Camera, Gallery, Adobe Premier Both myself and my partner
worked on the footage we got
from our filming session by
going through all the clips and
editing the parts which are
good for use and removing
any which was not for use,
and started to add the clips
onto our music video to match
the lyrics of the song.
27.11.2015 Computer, Adobe Photoshop As I had gone through all of
the footage with my partner I
choose to work on the album
cover, both me and my
partner were not happy with
the album cover and decided
to change this but keeping the
theme of polaroid’s by having
a montage of frames but using
on image instead. For the new
idea I had to create the
polaroid frames once again so
that it could work with the
layout of the album cover.
01.12.2015 Computer, Adobe Premier In today's two hours my
partner asked me if I could
look at the music video and
take a look. So I started to edit
the music video so that the lip
syncing was in time with the
song, and there was clips
which fitted with the lyrics.
03.12.2015 Camera, Tripod, Lead singer. In today's lesson we went out
with our lead singer to film him
lip syncing this is so that we
5. can include more footage into
the music video as our music
video is heavily performance
based, therefore wanting the
lead singer to do some more
lip syncing so I would be able
to incorporate this into our
music video.
04.12.2015 Computer, Camera, Gallery In today’s hour lesson we
decided to upload all the
footage we took of our lead
singer and filter the good
footage and the bad, so for
our double lesson on the
08.12.2015 we were prepared
to add all the footage onto the
music video. This took up half
of the lesson so for the other
half I continued working on the
front cover as I had finished
making the polaroid frame I
wanted to use, so my next
step was to choose the main
image. I wanted to include all
three band members but also
leave a sense of mystery.
Once I choose the image for
use I decided to add different
filters and effects to this so
that it is given an indie look.
08.12.2015 Computer, Adobe Photoshop As in the previous lesson I
continued to creating the
album cover I decided to finish
this by finally placing the
image into the polaroid frame
which didn’t take long. I then
choose to insert the name of
the album and the name of the
band onto the cover following
the conventions where the
name of the band is
highlighted over the name of
the album. I made sure that it
was clear and readable
therefore my target audience
are able to read the album. I
also began by making the
back cover for the digipak, I
started by creating a single
polaroid picture including the
three band members as this
linked in with all of the media
6. products which I will be
creating.
09.12.2015 Camera, tripod,
Guitar, drum kit,
three band
members
In today's session we went out for our final filming session
with our three band members. Here we wanted the band
members to be enjoying themselves having fun as well as
playing with their instruments. We got some shots of the our
drummer playing the drums as well as group shots of the
band practicing and having fun. This meant that we had all
the footage for our music video and we were able to begin
finishing it by filling up the gaps.
10.12.2015 Computer,
Adobe
Photoshop
In the previous lesson I started creating the back cover I
decided to continue with this by merging the three images
which I choose to use and placing this into a polaroid frame.
I then positioned this on the album cover and created the
song list and inserted the name of the band as well as the
barcode which are the key conventions which need to be
included on the back cover.
11.12.2015 Computer,
Adobe
Photoshop
I continued creating the back cover for the digipak by
changing the layout of it all to make sure that it all tied in
together as a back cover as well as the front cover. I finally
created the layout of the back cover however it did not follow
conventions exactly.
15.12.2015 Computer,
Adobe Premier,
Gallery
In today’s lesson I worked on the music video as I had
created the both the album cover and the back cover. When
creating the music video my main focus was on the lip
syncing being in time with the song, so I adjusted this to
make sure this was in time. I also needed to fill in the gaps
as my partner was not sure how to fill this therefore rematch
the footage which was un-used.
17.12.2015 Computer,
Adobe Premier
I continued working with the music video as I only got the
chance to view the footage therefore wanting to place the
footage with a range of effects and in a good positioning.
18.12.2015 Computer,
Adobe Premier
I continued working with the music video in the hour lesson
to make sure that timings were right and that I filled up the
gaps.
12.01.2016 Computer,
Adobe
Photoshop
As I have been working on the music video I was not able to
work on the inlay sleeves, so in today's two hours I chose to
make the inlay sleeves for this I wanted to make sure it
linked in with the music video so creating a montage of
pictures which have been included within the music video.
For this I selected a few images and started to make the
montage of images.
14.01.2016 Computer,
Adobe Premier,
Adobe
As my partner was unable to create the transition from a still
image to the video, she asked if I would take charge of this
whilst she continued with the inlay sleeves. I began by
7. Photoshop experimenting with this as I wasn't entirely sure how I was
going to make the polaroid pictures seem like them come to
life. I didn’t have great success with this as the polaroid
images didn’t seem to work with the video.
15.01.2016 Computer,
Adobe Premier,
Adobe
Photoshop
I continued to work on the transitions because this was a
main part of the music video throughout the lesson towards
the end I finally learnt a way of making the still images come
to life, it wasn’t as professional as I would have liked it to be
but it did work as a concept therefore I was happy with it.
19.01.2016 Computer,
Adobe Premier,
Adobe
Photoshop
I continued working with the polarized transitions with the
music video as there were many I transitions that needed to
be done, and as found this difficult it was very time
consuming.
21.01.2016 Computer Adobe
Premier, Adobe
Photoshop
This was the final 2 hours I had to work on the transitions of
the still images coming to life therefore I solely focused on
this and completed it. I checked through the song and tried
my best to make cuts to the beat of the song but by doing
this there was a gap at the beginning of the clip which I
planned to fill with a montage of pictures to link with the
whole of the music video.
22.01.2016 Computer,
Adobe
Photoshop
As we wanted to make the polaroid idea much clearer we
decided to make a montage of polaroid’s which is blurry and
one which isn’t this will shows that the polaroid’s which are
shown throughout the music video make the montage
clearer throughout. So today I created the montage of the
polaroid pictures so that I was able to include this into the
music video. .
26.01.2016 Computer Adobe
Premier, Adobe
Photoshop
In today’s lesson I decided to finish the music video off by
inserting the montage of blurry polaroid’s as well as the
montage of the un-blurry polaroid’s. I made sure that this
was positioned well in the music video and it tied the music
video together. I also went through the whole of the music
video to check the timings and make any tweaks which I
noticed that seemed out of place.
