1. FMP pre - proposal
Tell me in no more than
20 words, what is your
FMP idea?
My idea for my FMP is to create an animated series with a
confusing but understanding storyline to the audience.
Why have you decided to
make it?
Ive decided to make this because after watching adventure
time, gravity falls and other animations I've found that they
have some sort of weird story line that does but doesn’t make
sense and I've chosen to do animation due to research on the
Aardman animations and I want to create an animation with
the ability to intrigue the viewers like Aardman animation.
What about your project
makes it important to
you?
The art skill is important because my applications to university
rely on a portfolio of my skill this helps me show what I can
create in different formats.
The outcome is also important as I have high hope that it turns
out great and has the potential to be a popular show like many
other animations.
Outline some of the initial
influences on your
idea/work and some
potential research targets
(remember, research isn’t
just a paper based
activity)
My initial influences for my project are adventure time, gravity
falls, my hero academia, Rick n Morty and myYear 1 FMPideas.
From my FMP year 1 ideas I used the idea of characters having
special abilities and or appearances. And fromthe animated
shows listed I havethe idea of the story line where something
bad happens and there’s a group or a duo who solve it all.
What effect do you want
to have on your audience
when they see your
project?
When my audience looks at this project, I want the effect that
they will be confused but intrigued to want to carry on
watching. I want to also have the effect that the audiencewill
think theyhave solved it before the show has but the twist it
would be something completely different.
2. Describe the
tone/mood/style of your
project [which production
techniques/characteristics
are you employing?]
The tone of theproject is to get the attention of the viewer and
try havethemunderstand the nonsense within the project
when there is no full evidenceof the real meaning or guesses.
The mood of the project isnt going to dark and disturbing it's
going to be a little moreon the bright side colour wise and the
way each character plays a part in the animation. The style of
the project will depend on what characters go and do like if
character one went for a jolly walk in the woods the styleof it
would be to contrast that idea of happiness same ifcharacter
two went somewhere that made them really upset and the
outcome would be a.happier setting, isolating the characters
emotions to contrast with the rest of the scene can make the
audience notice little things in those scenes.
Why have you decided to
make your project in this
style?
I have doneit this way becauseit fun to explore around this
and there's different way to get the attention of the audience,
isolating the emotions is a good way but thenarrative and
detail in the script will attract the attention more. Myexample
would be adventure time and that fin and Jake go through
emotions when they are completing tasks, there are some sad
and happy times for them. I think this style is good and has
room for me as thecreator to adapt and create into the gaps of
what's already available.
