stored at controlled room temperature
i.e. from 20°C to 25°C (68°F to 77°F)
with excursions permitted between 15°
to 30°C (59° to 86°F).

➢Adult Hypertension: The starting adult dose is
80 or 160 mg once daily and the dose range
is 80 to 320 mg once daily
➢Heart Failure: The starting adult dose is 40
mg twice daily and the dose range is 40 mg to
160 mg twice daily
➢Post-Myocardial Infarction: The starting adult
dose is 20 mg twice daily and the dose range
is 20 mg to 160 mg twice daily

Contraindications
Valzaar is contraindicated in patients with a
hypersensitivity to Valsartan or any other
component of this medication.
Do not administer this medicine to patients with
diabetes undergoing therapy with Aliskiren

➢Hypertension: Most common side effects are
headache, dizziness, viral infection, fatigue and
abdominal pain
➢Heart Failure:Most common side effects are
dizziness, hypotension, diarrhea, arthralgia,back
pain, fatigue and hyperkalemia
➢Post-Myocardial Infarction: Most common side
effects which caused patients to discontinue
therapy are hypotension, cough and increased
blood creatinine

The most likely symptoms of Valzaar
(Valsartan Tablets) overdosage would be
hypotension and tachycardia; bradycardia
could occur from parasympathetic (vagal)
stimulation. Depressed level of
consciousness, circulatory collapse and
shock have been reported.

In case symptomatic hypotension occurs,
supportive treatment should be instituted.
Valzaar (Valsartan Tablets) is not
removed from the plasma by hemodialysis.

classified by the US FDA as Pregnancy
Category D .
When pregnancy is detected, discontinue
Valzaar (Valsartan Tablets) as soon as
possible.
Potential neonatal adverse effects include
skull hypoplasia, anuria, hypotension, renal
failure, and death. These adverse
outcomes are usually associated with use
of these drugs in the second and third
trimesters of pregnancy.
