3. Research
• I researched a lot about former empires throughout the times
of history starting with the British Empire which my poster’s
concept is based on but an alternate reality compared to ours.
Where the empire survives, so it was befitting that I
researched them first. And this proved useful as it helped me
to recapture the images of the empire. With the colour
schemes and futuristic approach I added. This is proven to be
a strength how I link the two empires together.
• I should of looked closer at the settings of the Photoshop file
as it turned into a larger file then I intended. This caused
problems and made it difficult to work with. I should of
stopped before I continued my work and created a new file so
It would be better to work with and easier to save it.
4. Planning
• I planned out a lot of my work in the pre-production pages so
I could reflect on those documents to remember or remind
me how or what I should influence into my work. I planned
through out what I was going to do and how I would do it,
with what resources I could use to my projects benefit. The
planning helped me keep on my deadlines for my Poster.
• For my weaknesses though my work didn’t properly save for
some reason so I have had to redo most of my work on unit 3.
this has put me back on my recent project but as soon as I
finish this evaluation document I will continue my work on
unit 5. the only way to improve and better the work I did
before was by making sure that this time round. I focus on my
work and focus on the detail.
5. Time Management
• I did pretty well on the time management as I took a few days out of my
Christmas holidays to complete the work but it was all for nothing as it
didn’t and wasn’t used for my unit, the only thing I used was the main
project poster. But I am now using my free time and breaks to work at
college to finish this unit as soon as possible so I can finish my 5th unit that
is more important and needs to be finish by the end of the week. I will
most likely not be done by Friday so I will take time out so I can finish it in
the half term holiday.
• I would probably add more detail and be more relaxed about the situation
if I wasn’t rushed and forced to repeat the work but I want my work to the
best that it can and I will have to just take more time into the work and
the production.
6. Technical Qualities
I think my work is bad compared to
other posters and game front images
like the call of duty series but they
are more professional with better
images for cover pages. The
similarities that I can reference are
the distinctive color patterns like
with MW3 its black with white, with
a tactical and militaristic green.
These differences between my
project and the MW3 poster is that
they are both are at separate
qualities but the things that look
similar are the color patterns as I
have a dark color and a singled out
color for the font. But there are clear
difference like the depth and altitude
or brightness and color effects. And
the title is centered in the middle
where as I put it on the top of the
poster I did this as it wouldn’t look
right if it was in the center.
The character’s are
almost similar as well but
with different poses and
positions. But they both
have a distinctive military
style of clothing.
The background has also a
similar color with a faded
white surrounding the
character where as my
character has the smoke
above him
7. Aesthetic Qualities
My work was very creative compared to other’s in the group. And other things I had thought of, for
the concept of the project’s poster. Was unique compared to what I actually did. But I think its decent
and not bad at all, I think the best thing about it is the character, if it wasn’t for the image of the
soldier then I fear it would of come out a lot worse. But just the image of the soldier makes it an
instant reminder of what this game is. If I could I would improve the other visuals like the city buildings
and placement o the title. Possibly closer to the center or even just a few clicks lower.
The smoke is a good feature and makes the whole
thing look unique and diverse compared to most
other poster’s for games. The biggest weakness is
the city buildings as they aren’t the best looking
black and white buildings image in history. I think I
would try to add better detail or make it more
realistic. I would do this by finding another image
similar to the buildings and replace them with a
better and higher quality version.
8. Audience Appeal
I have appealed to my main target audience as it appeals as a older teen and young
adult fantasy with realistic military approach. With my poster is gives off a sense of
power and prowess, but compared to other game posters the feeling is slightly
insignificant, as posters created by an entire team’s of skilled programmers and
animation artists. But on its own it’s a good product and I have worked pretty hard on
making sure it is perfect. I think the dark approach defiantly helped since most people
like the visuals and effect that I have implemented into the project.
People who answered the questionnaire with honest responses made it clear that they
liked the concept but were sceptical about the whole thing and thinking it was far
fetched.
9. Aesthetic Qualities
My work was very creative compared to other’s in the group. And other things I had

If I had to compare which one would
win in a competition it would odiously
be MW3 but mine has more features
and makes people think, what is he
doing? Where is he going? And why is
he doing this?
11. Feedback 1
• What did you like about the product?
I liked the way he implemented smoke into the
image as a whole.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– The title could have been in the centre or in the
style the call of duty games are made in.
12. Feedback 2
• What did you like about the product?
– The character was well detailed and had a good
and great importance to the audiences preference
on the game concept.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
The only thing I can think of is the colour of the
title, it could be brighter with a higher contrast.
13. Feedback 3
• What did you like about the product?
– I liked the colours and the buildings in the
background.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– The text font could have been more modern then
old and rough.
14. Peer Feedback Summary
• What do you agree with from your peer
feedback?
– I agreed that the font could of looked more
modern but it is meant to represent a war torn
country.
• What do you disagree with from your peer
feedback?
– The colour scheme was what I wanted and how It
looks best in. the dark red mixes well with the
black.
15. Peer Feedback Summary
The thing I would change in my product is the font style
as I can understand why people will wonder what era this
is meant to take place in. if I had a more modern and
militaristic themed font then I think it would look better.
But apart from that I wouldn’t change anything else.
