3. Research
The strengths to my research is that it gives me a rough guide line with questionnaires and
existing products such as already existing t-shirt designs or whatever you want to produce. The
questionnaire questions helped me found out what people would rather see for designs such as
the character or techniques used as well as colours on what to do with the product and mine was
a t-shirt design. The research of the existing products gave me an idea on how I want it to look,
for example if I want the character in the centre or on either side of the shirt or even on the back.
So all together the research gave me an image on how I would it to look roughly and what I
needed to do to make it appeal to my audience.
The weaknesses for my research is that I could change my mind on what I want to produce so I
could do a poster or a graphic novel page. So I would have to change all my existing product
research also change my initial ideas and create a new brain storm, then I would have to create a
new questionnaire with different answers to the new idea I settled with. Maybe next time I would
put in more detail with the initial ideas and my research, this would impact my grade to get a
higher one and if I didn’t put a lot of detail in I would get a low grade which I wouldn’t want.
4. Planning
The planning went well for my product, as I made sure I went into detail with what I wanted to
accomplish with my production. As I knew if I did this it would be easier to gain a high grade, the
planning also helped me decide on the colours and the fonts as well as the images I wanted to
use. Then the product took form from the plans that I followed, it took awhile to complete
because it was a detailed product.
Weakness to the planning is that I could easily change my mind on what I wanted to produce so
then I would have change the entire plan and start from scratch which would waste the time
needed to make my product, also I may not follow the plan that I wrote in detail to follow to
make it easier for myself.
I could improve the amount of text I wrote for my planning to make a step by step guide on what
to follow to get my product finished on time. This would make my product more complex and
would allow anyone to follow the steps I created to creating something similar.
5. Time Management
For my FMP I managed my time well and got my powerpoints finished apart from my pre-
production which was erased by my memory stick when it erased everything again, so I waited till
the end of the my production to complete my pre-production powerpoint. I didn’t finish my
evaluation in time so I had to quickly get it sent over during half term even though it was
unfinished and then I got some time to make improvements from the feedback I received. The
improvements I would make if I had additional time I would of made my powerpoints more
complex and made more products which would be rotoscopes or other techniques that I would
look up. If I had more time I would’ve made my improvements before I had my feedback given.
The work overall was almost complete apart from the pre-production and the evaluation and I
now I need to do the improvements.
6. Target Audience Appeal
My final products should appeal to my target audience because it is a rotoscope of batman which
the audience wanted to see as the main design like the questionnaires were answered with
because the questions that were answered were they wanted to batman rotoscoped as the main
design. But I added my own input making it just two colours so it doesn’t over complicate the
design with too many colours and shades and I think it works very well with only the two colours.
Then I also did the opposite to original rotoscope that I created which was black so it was white
when I switched the colours. But I think the white works best and I think the target audience
would agree as I did follow the guide lines of what they wanted to see.
7. Technical Qualities
Mine is on the left and the actually
products from a company are on
the right, mine is very similar with
the white image and the black
background but I only did batman.
Mine cuts off in a straight line
instead of blending into the black
background. Also I did an inverted
one so the actual batman is black
instead of white.
8. Aesthetic Qualities
These designs are rotoscopes of batman from the game arkham knight, there
are two designs both the same but I just changed the image from black to
white, so either designs will stand out on the opposite colours. For the black it
will stand out on lighter colours then for the white it will stand out on darker
colours.
I think the designs look really good as it looks professional; it looks like it was
manufactured by a company which makes the visuals look extremely well
made. I would improve it by trying a different technique for the design or
maybe a different image but similar. The way I would look up some tutorials
on google to follow and create a different style for the same image so there
would be multiple different styles.
The strengths for these is that I can create rotoscopes very well and make it
look like the actual image. And it also looks great as a rotoscope as you can
make the shading all one colour. The weakness is that I only really know how
to three other techniques which I have used for my designs.
9. Aesthetic Qualities
This is different to some of the dragon ball z t-shirt designs
as it has one of the most iconic characters from the series
deceased, only showing him as a skull with only his iconic
hair style. This only used the filter gallery and polygon lasso
tool to put it in place also dafont to get the font for “I was a
prince” I would say it is creative but it isn’t the best design
I’ve created.
The visuals are rather simple but that can be effective. I
would try a different technique for this design or even I
could change the design but keep the presence of death.
Such as a skull or a halo showing that they’ve passed on but
keep the text the same, but maybe change the font.
The strengths of this design is that I haven’t really seen
anything similar to it, also it is very simple. But the
simplicity of this design is also a weakness because it only
used the filter gallery, a tool and a website. Also it could
have been done with a different technique.
10. Aesthetic Qualities
I think this design is as good as the rotoscope design, instead I
only used the clipping mask and the filter gallery, this was a
very simple design and I really like it. I find that this design is
very creative and complex with how it looks but very simple
to create. I like how I implemented the joker and his laugh
into the bat symbol.
I would improve this by trying to create the joker’s face from
the bat symbol and or I can create the joker from bats like
from a poster. Or even create batman joker’s face, which
would be creative but use a different techniques.
The strengths of this design is that the simple steps taken to
create it, also it is eye catching with the colours then the
weaknesses is that I could of done it different in a number of
ways also with different images and techniques.
11. Audience Appeal
I have appealed to the audience by creating
three batman designs, two are the same but
different colours and the other is joker inside
the bat symbol with “ha ha ha” filling in the
empty spaces. Then the last design is a
character from dragon ball z which is a skull
with his hair and saying “I was a prince” I
would think this would appeal as the audience
only wanted to see fictional characters, they
also wanted to see batman as a rotoscope
which I did, the bat symbol with the joker is
my own design and I thought people would
like it.
13. Feedback 1
• What did you like about the product?
– The things I like about this kind of product is that the way the you have
both used two characters out of the batman of the main two features
of them both, of their faces used from the joker and then the body
used by batman. Also with the way used the main part of batman of
his sign on to the bat but made the lips on to the jokers as well to be
the main focus. With these types of images you have used different
types of effects that have worked well. On every image there is a clear
text which goes with the image nicely and you can see the text clearly
as well. The range of colours that have been used through out the
different images suit the product well.
• What improvements could have been made to the product?
• The things you could improve on is that you could choose different
types of texts to go across the image.
14. Feedback 2
• What did you like about the product?
– I like all the picture thy have very good detail and
all the text suits that image, the darker images
have dark colour’s to match, and it looks very well
done.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
15. Feedback 3
• What did you like about the product?
– It smells like weed
– I real like how it put together as I think that all 3 look really
cool
– All 3 are well made and they have had a lot of time put I to
them
• What improvements could have been made to the
product?
– I think maybe make some more as these are really good
but there's just 3 it would be cool if there were more
– Ps mmmmmm I'm touching myself tonight ps I'm touching
your things
16. Peer Feedback Summary
• What do you agree with from your peer feedback?
From my feedback I agree that I needed other fonts to go over m designs and properly put them
in other places instead of sticking with one font which doesn’t make the designs stand out every
design should be unique and different in their own way so next time when I do t-shirt designs I
will find different fonts also I would make more designs but using different techniques on
photoshop from tutorials I would look up on the internet.
• What do you disagree with from your peer feedback?
I just disagree with what has been said on feedback 3 as it wasn’t taken seriously and hasn’t
helped me much in anyway.
17. Peer Feedback Summary
For the changes next time I do something like this I would change the fonts I will use and
find some more techniques to use with the help of tutorials which I will find on the internet
and make more different ones or do the same ones with different techniques but they will
different to the previous versions that I have done for this unit, some of the feedback that I
received was helpful with what I can work on and then there was only one that didn’t help
with to show how I can improve my work.
