2. Process
• I used a lot of methods and tools in the process of making my
replica magazine cover. My project experiment is the one on
the right and the authentic magazine published and released
is the one on the left. I do have to say mine doesn’t look that
bad and could almost resemble an entirely independent
magazine cover.
• The tools I used for the background was paint brush, and I
used a wide range of blues until I was settled on my
background that I have now for my finished experiment. The
first thing I tried doing was replicating the waves and the light
glimmer in the water, but I couldn’t perfect it and it always
looked out of place. So I just started fresh and made a new
background, with the colours getting darker as it progresses
downwards.
• After I was happy with the background I went on to work on
the fish image, so I found this image of a silver scaled fish in
the Atlantic ocean. And I duplicated it to add other fishes in
the background adjusting the sizes and positions to replicate
the magazine cover.
• I also found out the text spacer tool so the space between
text in a box could be adjusted to be closer or further away,
this helped me a lot as half way through my work my tutor
helped me. Instead of making individual boxes I could make it
a lot easier and simpler, by adding entire sentences to the
boxes.
• I actually found the same font used in the real magazine
which I was really happy with. Since it looked better and
more improved.
• I now know how to use the shape tool to add and make the
boxes around words to make them stand out more for
headings and master head.
• The magazine on the internet was actually a competition
made by a real fishing magazine which one 1st meaning that
the artists cover page was used for one of the cover pages on
one of their magazines.

3. Reflection
• What elements of your experiments will you
include in your final product?
-Most of the methods as I will need to make it very appealing to my audience. But
above all else I want it to be clear and easy to understand without thousands of text
boxes all around my cover image.
-The thing I will not include is the use of images from the internet for things, like
scenery landscape images. As I can travel with my dad and take pictures of gorgeous
environments with things like old and ancient castles in the background for my main
magazine project’s images. This will hopefully add originality to my project. Things like
images of characters and armies I will have to use from the internet. As I can’t take
pictures of medieval armies.
-I will use the text tool with the space method as I will want to put a lot into the pages
inside my magazine, I will need as much space as I can spare. So I will use this method
to pact or space out my words depending on what the situation is. I will also highlight
tiles and subheadings so they stand out more and better.
