The document evaluates how effective the combination of the main product and ancillary tasks are. It discusses that the locations used in the music video and ancillary tasks were the same to maintain consistency with the storyline. It also notes that the costumes worn by the two main characters were kept the same throughout the video and ancillary tasks to fit their personas and background stories. Additionally, the font style and colors remained consistent across the ancillary tasks to complement the black and white theme of the project.
5. LOCATION
The locations in our music video are exactly the
same to the locations in our ancillary tasks.
Image from the top right was shot in Cambridge
which is where we filmed the female part in the
video. The middle image and the bottom image
were both shot in Royston which is where we
filmed the rest of the video footage. We wanted
to keep it all in the same place because of our
story line. All the female footage was shot in
Cambridge and all the male footage was shot in
Royston. The reason for this is because the girl
was from a run down family and we found the
perfect location in Cambridge to show
that, otherwise we would have filmed it all in
Royston to keep it consistent.
Another reason for putting the female on a run
down estate is because it links in with our
genre, rap. A lot of artists rap about how they
had to grow up on a rough estate and they lived
a hard life.

6. COSTUME
The costume was kept consistent throughout the
music video and the ancillary tasks. We thought
Macklemore was more of a sophisticated rap artist so
we dressed him in a blazer with a white t-shirt and
some plain black trousers. We really felt that this
outfit was the best fitted to his star persona, this is
why we decided to keep it the same throughout the
whole music video.
The female in the video is also dressed completely the
same throughout. There is a shot of her smoking
where she looks like she’s got a black jacket it on, but
all we did was put a scarf around her so she blended
into the negative space background more. The reason
we dressed her in the same outfit is because she
comes from the run down area, which means she
might not have as many clothes.

7. PRODUCT
Throughout the ancillary tasks we kept the
font the same to show consistency. We
kept the colour in either black or white
depending on the background colour.
Having the black and white font colour
complimented the black and white theme
that we were going for.
