Radar The Proliferation Of Location Based Services Essay
Abstract– The proliferation of Location Based Services
(LBSs) and Geo Social Networks (GSNs) significantly increase the exposure risks of location information leading to leakage of sensitive information.
Location privacy preserving methods are designed to provide a specified level of privacy based on some pre–defined privacy guarantees such as
k–anonymity and e–differential privacy. In certain situations, we note that users would need different privacy protection levels based on their
relationships and trust associated with the users of the exposed location data. For instance, users of a location–based social network may need a smaller
privacy protection level in interaction with their close friends and a larger privacy protection level in relationship with public users. In this paper, we
present a privacy aware access control model that provides different location privacy protection levels based on various access control list of users.
The proposed privacy preserving access control model not only preserves the confidentiality of access control policy but also provides an efficient
mechanism for grant and revoke of authorizations.
I. INTRODUCTION
The recent prevalent use of mobile devices and the availability of high–resolution spatio–temporal data sensing devices have popularized the use of
Location–Based Services
(LBSs) and Location–based Geosocial Networks (GSNs).
These location–based systems (e.g. Foursquare, Yelp, Google

Stages Of Social Location
1.Social location is the idea that a groups members belong in the group because of their place or position in society, past and present. All people
have a distinct social location that is defined by their social class, gender, ability, race, age, religion, sexual orientation, and geographic location.
Membership within each group brings forth a certain set of social roles and rules, power, and privilege (or lack of), which heavily influence a
person's identity and how they see the world. 2.A social problem is an issue within society that a large amount of people are concerned with. The
problem itself has to be socially constructed, meaning it has two essential components. An objective condition that can be measured or experienced, and
a subjective... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The social problem I decided to explain was the growing rate of simple and complex terrorist attacks in developed countries. In the past few years
we've seen a significant spike in the rise of terrorist attacks in the United States and it allies and its causing a major social problem. Whether it be a
bombing or just driving a van through a crowd of people, these attacks effect people in multiple ways. One of the main ways is that it causes
people to be afraid to go outside and socialize which causes a disconnect between the population. Another way is that it cause the citizens to
mistrust the government, because it is supposed to keeping them safe and a terror attack being successfully carried out means the government
failed at its job. There are many ways this could be fixed, but the problem is that a lot of Americans aren't willing to do them because they involve
giving up certain amounts of freedom. By this I mean allowing the government to look at digital data on people as well as conversations to attempt
to stop attacks before the begin. Another way is to give the police and other feral law enforcement agencies more power to arrest or detain terrorist
suspects. This issue is one that a lot of people are currently trying to come up with solutions to, and I think it will take a while before we are able to
come to one clear way to deal with this

Politics Of Location
Moreover, the Law of the Father played a significant role in Rich's life. Rich was affected by PSTD, Post Dramatic Stress Disorder as a result of
her father being in the war. She took this and used it to her benefit. She allowed this experience to structure her life and shape it in a way that would
help her grow and learn, and bring others along either to experience it, or relate to her experience. Rich will never know what exactly happened to
her father during war. It is a force of her frustration, because recollecting such memories is painful, not only for her but for her father as well. Both
suffer from the disturbance of war (Langley, 2011). Her father was quite a dominating figure in her life. He educated her with his encouragement of...

In her essay 'Notes toward a Politics of Location' (1984), she writes about her experiences, how they shaped and transformed her. She writes in
hope to change and deconstruct the view and thought of the myth of woman and the idea of their bodies as unknown, dark areas that are
dangerous to be explored. She writes about her body, personally. She refers to it throughout the text. She mentions damages, discolorations,
disfigurements, scars, and losses (Eagleton, 2000). One thing to note is that Rich speaks about her body as if she is outside it: 'white skin,
marked and scarred by three pregnancies'. Time and events have left their impressions on Rich's body. Her body is one that has skin and bones, it
is aging and damaged, vulnerable, and not a body that is owned by others. It is her body that has her experiences written all over it (Eagleton, 2000).
Moreover, Rich speaks about how the Second World War had an effect on her due to her religion, although she was 'three thousand miles away from
Europe". ' Rich's mentioning of her race and religion emphasizes that they are two important issues to her. She relates historical events to her female
body. During the Second World War Jews were under mass extermination, similar to her body as "it continues to give expression to an inadaptable
material residue" (Eagleton,

process work? 3. Is your clinic primary outpatient or inpatient treatment? What does that entail? 4. What is your theoretical orientation or guiding
theory? 5. What is the main population you work with and what are the mental health issues that typically need to be treated? 6. Do you work with
many college clients with anxiety, if so how do you treat this disorder? 7. What are the treatment approaches you utilize in this clinic? 8. What is
your cost of treatment and do you work on a sliding scale? Is your clinic for profit or nonprofit? 9. What is your mission and can you identify the
strengths and weaknesses of your program? 10. How might an administrator avoid pitfalls in your clinic? 11. Is there any other additional information
that you would like to share with me about your clinic?
Major factors that distinguish the two programs from each other:
– Private practice only with primarily MFT and LADC's licensure.
– For profit and sliding scale availability for emergency cases only.

Facilities For Capacity And Location
Evaluate the facilities with regard to capacity and location. As of December 28, 2014, Johnson & Johnson has 134 manufacturing facilities, occupying
21.5 million square feet, operating in 60 countries including the United States. The facilities can be broken down by segment or geographical area. J&J
also has major research facilities located in the United States, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Israel, Japan, the Netherlands,
Singapore, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. (Johnson & Johnson, 2014)

To make good decisions in both areas managers should assess needs, develop alternatives, and evaluate the alternatives. A good tool to facilitate
location analysis is the break–even analysis because it evaluates location decisions based on cost values. Another good tool is the transportation method
because it evaluates the cost impact of adding sites to the network of current facilities.
Evaluate the ERP system. An ERP, orEnterprise Resource Planning, system is a business management software that integrates all levels of operations.
It can include product planning, development, manufacturing, sales and marketing. The goal of a successful ERP is to improve the flow of all
shared information and data across the entire organization. In the past, Johnson & Johnson have used an ERP developed by SAP, a German
multinational software company and one of the worlds largest. More recently J&J took on a massive project to consolidate and harmonize their ERP
landscape. J&J 's global enterprise supply chain included 120 manufacturing sites, over 500 external manufacturers, 450 distribution centers, and over
60 ERP systems that support about 275 operating companies (Dignan, 2013). This project was initiated because J&J was finding that they were having
trouble keeping some products on shelves which affected sales. They saw an opportunity to better meet the evolving needs of customers and hopefully
improve the cost of goods sold efficiently to

Where Is Facilities Location For A Favorable Site Location?
This work explores facilities location as a widely studied problem in current marketing trends. Further, it breaks down facility location into area
description, placing facilities, feasible sites and assigning customers among others. In addition, facility location seeks to minimize transport costs and
explore greater markets. The research has explored factors such as areas population, demand (present and future), and other factors affecting facility
location. The methodological approaches employed are multiple attributives in nature and alternative ranking quantitative methods. This work offers
risk evaluation methods, as an indispensable factor in facility location. I present it as a basic step for site identification that proceeds expensive and
complex natural disaster simulations provided deep insight into practical suggestions on how businesses may carry out risk assessment and planning
on catastrophic events, whose occurrence may have adverse impacts. My goal in this work is to explore the various methodologies employed in
facility location decision making and various components entailed in a favorable site location, incorporating works of other researchers To achieve my
goal stated in the thesis statement, I will explore several environmental, economic, and political factors that influence facility location. I will do so in a
paper subdivided into four subsections bolded. Problem Statement Facility location decisions directly affect other aspects of a firm such as

a. Social location/pg. 3: the group memberships that people have because of their location in history and society. This term was represented
specifically in many parts of the documentary. The migrant workers are able to live better off when they live in groups. The group's sizes do vary
but it tends to be a bit larger than the normal size of an average American family. The migrant workers live this way because of the wages that they
earn. The more members of the group they have the more money they will bring in from working in the fields. The social location relates to the
migrant workers in very direct ways. This happens because of how they are classified in society. The migrants feel as if the fruit and vegetable fields

Ethnocentrism/pg. 36: the use of one's own culture as a yardstick for judging the ways of other individuals or societies, generally leading to a
negative evaluation of their values, norms, and behaviors. Ethnocentrism occurs in the documentary multiple times. One specific time is when
Perla Sanchez, who is 14 years old fantasizes about her life like most of her other class mates who don't have to work the fields. She compares her
life to theirs and envies them. Perla is faced with the horrible truth that her life is far from being like theirs and that her reality is that of travel,
hard work, poverty and a lifestyle she does not wish to continue living. As soon as Perla begins to get close with friends or begins to learn things at a
school she is forced to migrate with the rest of her family to where the work is in the fields. It is hard for her to do this time and time again. When
Perla is at school she is able to feel somewhat normal and wanted much more by her classmates. It is a way for her to potentially escape her dreadful
reality. For a period of time in the day she is able to escape her home life and feel normal. When she returns home, or to the fields to work she is
quickly reminded of what she feels she is missing out on in life and that she wishes something better for herself and her family. It is easy for Perla to
compare her life to the lives of her classmates at school and feel as if her life is inferior to theirs. This is the basis around

Implications Of Consumer Location Based Services Apps
Implications of consumer location–based services apps
Introduction
Location based services (LBS) have been on the rise since public access to positioning technologies. These services are increasingly being used on
mobile devices. Between 2010 and 2013 mobile internet usage increased 359%, whereas desktop internet usage only increased by 4% (Ju–Young,
Johnson, & Mee Mun, 2015). LBS create an augmented reality by adding and integrating information to real world experiences (Pedrana, 2014). LBS
apps, such as Grindr, Yelp and Foursquare, use the geographic location of their users to provide or augment an activity. Although these consumer and
social marketing based apps have benefits such as increased sense of community, access to information ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The app is not only a way for gay men to have a dating experience, but it also puts members of this community in contact with each other as a place
to find help or support. If someone cannot find their place in a gay community in their area, they can turn to Grindr as a way to locate individuals.
This app brings together overlapping communities, putting people with similar sexualities and locations in contact (Shotwell, 2011). In this regard, it
is beneficial to provide specific demographics with LBS apps as a way to create a new space for the community to connect. Although there are benefits
to the location–based nature of Grindr, we must remain critical of the privacy issues and social implications of the app. Grindr's privacy policy states
that third parties, such as advertisers and partners, may access user information and that Grindr "expressly disclaim[s] responsibility for information
collected through them" (Grindr, 2015). User information that can be accessed by Grindr and third parties includes names, photos, height, weight,
email address and so on. Some may not be bothered by this, but there are serious implications to consider. Legal and social rights need to be
considered regarding the collection of personal information, as it can be used and exploited in many ways (Wilken, 2014). Commercial exploitation
can occur by selling personal data, and using to reduce transparency and influence consumers.

The Location Allocation Problem
There are three different variations of the location allocation problem being discussed in the articles. The LAP can be seen below. Figure 1. Image
of the Location Allocation Problem from [2], where EF stands for existing facilities and NF stands new facilities. The first variation, global
location allocation problems, are what most large or cooperate businesses are dealing with today. Most businesses that are looking to open new
facilities are looking to either expand international or expand domestically, but both require a global aspect. By combining AHP and GP, Badri
created an efficient manner in which to solve the added constraints of making the location allocation problem global. The analytical hierarchy
process was created by Saaty to add constraints into the LAP so that it is a global problem. Since the global scale required additional regulations
such as; political situations, global competition, government regulations, and economic factors are added. This hierarchy is created to be able to give
a swift answer in a political environment where time is of the essence. The first thing that must be established in the hierarchy is the goal, then the
criteria, and lastly the alternative locations. This problem requires the decision makers to apply weights to certain goals and locations. The decision
maker(s) have to place a weight or priority on each of the alternatives the criteria creates. The weighing is given by equation 1 below.

Social location is the central ideal of a person. It is". . . is where all aspects of one's identity meet" (kirk & Okazawa, 15). It determines a person's
social standing and self definition. It is a powerful tool in defining one's identity and without it, an identity would not be the same thing. It affects
one's view of reality and how the person may interpret the world. With a social location of a caucasion, upper middle class, woman from the
Midwest I have much leverage in society, this leverage allows me a lot of leeway and influence. As a white, upper middle class, woman, I politically

I grew up in a community very homogenious and it is hard to understand that people's experiences effect their understandings and alter our
expectations. The idea of having a similar exterior equating to a similar background is detrimental and creates a lot of distance between social
locations because it perpetuates stereotyping and essentialism. If you rely on looks and other identifying factors you will miss much of the person,
as people are always more than just one thing they identify, or have been identified as. Misunderstanding creates distance because it leads people to
retreat back into their own communities that they recognize and know and perpetuates stereotypes of identities. I think it is possible to diminish
these distances by creating diaglogue between groups of people who identify differently than eachother. Much can be said for facilitating discussion
amongst people of different backgrounds. It can aid in helping people gain a deeper understanding of one another and it allows a free exchange of
emotions and ideas that in the end bridge the gap between communities. I know when I am exposed to new things or communities it is a learning
process that requires of me to be understanding and open minded, but it has always helped to bridge that gap of 'otherness' and helps me think in

The Importance Of Social Location
My social location has been changed in the past year because of my translation to high school to college. I am nineteen years old, I am from
Spanish decent and I am middle class. The translation to college was having many more opportunities to do what I want and having time for it.
While I was in high school I was more into being an athlete, passing my classes, and playing band. I was just a student who want to succeed in
everything I do and everybody know me as a runner. That is the bases of people knowing my name. I was also known for being smart, but not to the
point of pure genius. Just the knowledge that people didn't know till we inter college. I played trumpet while I was in band. I like band because it goes
against what the social norm is that band people are just geeks, but I did both. My high school experience was manly band, running, and passing my

becoming a personal trainer. I still run and I also added weightlifting to build more muscle to strengthen my speed. I have decided to end my trumpet
playing for now and just play occasional. It doesn't serve a purpose for what I want to do for my life. I had to make decisions when I went to college if

Social Location Paper
Social location greatly impacts why people do what they do. We are all heavily influenced by our societies, our minds, behaviors, and overall beings
are affected by everything that we each experience and witness since birth. Henslin (2015) defines social location as, "the corners in life that people
occupy because of their place in a society" (p. 2). This means that different aspects and characteristics of one's life have placed them into specific
groups within their society, which can often affect their ways of thinking and in turn, their behavior. Being identified with a group can shape one's
thoughts on theirself, and what is expected of them within their society. Some things that in one's mind seem so normal and expected may be far from...

One thing that I experienced due to where I lived and my parent's social class was the fact that I got to attend a good school district, with updated
technology and books. My parents' success and lifestyle were all the reason to me to be hard worker and do well in school. After high school, I
took a break in my education, which set me apart from many others whom I had previously been societally grouped together with. This was the
cause of many judgments against me, which was difficult at times. Society's idea of "normal" is to attend college directly after graduating high
school, but society's normal wasn't going to work for me as I had became pregnant right out of high school, and felt the need to focus my direction on
working and making more money in the immediate. While not immediately attending college caused me to be perceived negatively, working so often
caused me to be perceived positively. The dedication and the money were both perceived well within my personal societal location. Society definitely
has an identity assigned to teenage pregnancy, and often responds in shame rather than support. It's odd that being a pregnant teenager can be viewed
so negatively, but the result– being a young mother is viewed so highly. Society's reactions now upon seeing me with my toddler are overwhelmingly
welcoming and positive, and almost sing praises on the fact that I am young and

Geo Location And Social Media Services
Geo–location and social media services are becoming the way of the future online. These services are redefining the way we find and connect to
interests and hobbies. Through the expansion of Geo–location and tagging mobile social media services, user's privacy online will continue to be
exposed without their knowledge and risk being victims to potential criminals.
With the progression and development in GPS and Wi–Fi, geo–location has become a dominant tool that can collect information over huge distances.
It is purpose is to identify the physical location and time of a user when they post something on the internet. This helps advertisers and third party
companies to help predict or assume the interest and likes of the user. The more the user uses the service, the more the service uses the user.
Geo–location included in devices such as cell phones, computers, laptops, tablets but many people seem to be unaware. Going online with these
devices can show where someone is, what they are doing and what time they are doing it. Telecommunication companies and internet providers
record the sites and places we visit online to help profile and analyse the user more efficiently. Cell phones have become so common for social media
use that users are willing to risk their privacy to have access to their social media sites or in most cases the user is oblivious that their information is
being taken from them. This gives rise to the fear of potential big companies, or even the government,

In some other cases locating near other hospitals as discussed earlier helps in the reduction of transport cost. So with this factor one must weigh the
benefits of locating away from other hospitals versus locating near other hospitals. b.The physical facility in terms of building is an important
aspect in consideration of the location of a hospital. Depending on the kind of services the hospital wants to provide the building facilities must be
conducive enough to accommodate the equipment to be used in the providing of those services. This will greatly impact the quality of services
provided by the hospital that will help in the acquiring of larger market share and optimize profits. c.The geography and demographic of the hospital's
location may plays an important role in market share and profit optimization. The hospital industry is highly regulated and as such is vulnerable to
government reimbursement. For this reason, a highly profit hospital will likely have a growing pool of commercially insured patients. So a hospital
may rather locate itself in neighborhoods' of high income earners because they are the ones who are likely to have both the money and the insurance
to pay the medical bills. This will greatly help in profit optimization because this will mean less patients receiving services on credit but rather more
patients paying cash

Importance Of Social Location
In sociology, social location is defined as the spaces that people occupy due to their location in society, which also refers to how groups in a society
experience the interactive effects of intersecting social hierarchies. In other words, social location is the sum effect of various factors, including social
class, race, gender, and geographic location on an individual's experience, life chances and worldview. Like most people, my social location is greatly
affected by the intersection of my race, gender, social class, however, what contributed the most to my social location is my family, especially my
mother.
The reason I choose my mother as a determining factor of my social location is because of the fact that my social class as of now is based on that
of the value my mother has given me. To my point of view, the environment that one's growing up plays a great role in shaping one's identity. My
mother spent most of her life with her mother who had been divorced by her husband when she was still very young. As the only workforce of her
family, started working as a laborer in farms, where she had to compete with strong male workers, in 1970s after the Great Proletarian Cultural
Revolution in China, where farmers' gains were based on their labor force. Then she got married to my father, who had five younger siblings and
disabled parent, in 1987. The upward intergenerational mobility that my mother has experienced had shaped her worldview. Although she had been

Class Location
One interesting thing that I have learned so far in the class is understanding that location is an important factor when it comes to quality of life.
When looking at both of the books we have read in class, location has been a reason why most people have a rough life. When a town is in poverty
it directly relates to the crime rate and drug use. People must find way to support their families and selling drug is on of the ways which of course,
relates to jail time as seen in Keepin' On. Another problem seen when living in poverty due to location is the school systems and quality of teachers is
affect. Teacher in public school are not up to par due to the lack of funding the town provide to have quality teachers. Finally, when a town is in
poverty, the job outlook decreases. Many find that the requirements are out of reach and jobs that they are qualified for are too far of a commute. ...

Retail Location Strategies
Learning the New Rules for Site Selection Will Keep You Ahead of the Game.
Nationwide, the retail sector enjoyed robust growth during the first half of the decade, due in great part to the continued expansion of big boxes. The
excitement, however, is dying down, as several category–killer retailers experience slowing sales. The once–zealous players are becoming more
cautious, and once again the rules of the game are changing for developers and commercial brokers.
New Development Drivers
Traditionally, retail centers have been defined as either regional, community, or neighborhood, with standard tenants for each of these categories.
Recently, though, the lines have blurred, as discount department stores ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many of the nation 's retailers are discovering the substantial dollar volumes that are largely untapped in the major urban markets. Obsolescent
industrial buildings in A locations are making way for new supermarkets, Wal

considering obsolescence in its new prototype by designing stores that can be converted into multifamily housing in the future. Communities with
enterprise zones and other economic incentives are getting a second chance as retailers rediscover downtown in more–affluent markets. A shining
example is the Circle Centre redevelopment in Indianapolis.
B locations, or those neighborhood centers once anchored by supermarkets, are getting a breath of new life from Rite Aid, Walgreens, and CVS as
consumers yearn for service and convenience.
In addition, the surviving supermarkets and large discount department stores are anchoring regional malls. K mart now focuses on its superstore
concept in metropolitan locations, with Wal–Mart continuing to identify gaps in suburban markets. There are fewer active big–box players; therefore,
opportunities for regional mall locations, as they become repositioned, will become more prevalent.

Social Location Paper
Perspective and social location are different for every single person, even siblings do not agree on everything, and see many situations in different
ways. This is because each person has a perspective partially shaped by their social location and partially shaped by how they interpret their social
location. Social location can blind people about issues that are happening in their country but not in their community, it can change one's perspective
and outlook on many topics, it can play a key role in how people perceive the world and others around them, and it can also give people resources to
help other. In this paper, I will demonstrate this by examining the effects that growing up in my social location had on me, and by analyzing Elisabeth

betray our common humanity. Unethical passivity and dominance manifest the entitlement of abuse. Both constitute the abuse of power" (Vasko

us to be apathetic towards an issue. I have realized that because of my social location I had the power to make a choice to care or not to care about
homeless people, and I made the choice to not care. It did not directly affect myself, my family, or my community, but it did affect my world in a
great way, but I was veiled by my location. I unintentionally abused the power that my location provided me to create a perspective in which
homelessness was not a prevalent problem. This perspective only changed when I moved to St. Louis for college and my social location changed as

Politics Of Location
In Adrienne Rich's Notes Towards a Politics of Location (1984), Rich discusses the importance of one's awareness of location and the role it plays
in being able to empathize with people of different ethnicities, social backgrounds, and sexual orientations. The idea of location applies not just to
women who part of the transnational feminist movement in the United States are, is but also for people all over the globe to change their ways of
thinking about their location and how they can relate to others from differing locations by asking specific questions. In Notes Towards a Politics of
Location, Rich successfully encourages readers to reflect on their "centeredness" and offers solutions to overcome the barriers that "centeredness"
may construct. Rich's essay can also be related to Adichie's TedTalk from 2009 titled The Danger of a Single Story, where Adichie gives a compelling

The reality is that there are overlaps in our circles, the Universe does not just revolve around one location or ethnicity. Our perspective has its
limitations, to combat this, we must raise issues from more than one perspective and location instead of just our own. Rich offers a solution to
overcome "centeredness" by learning to ask the right questions or at least care enough to ask questions to minority groups instead of using overarching
assumptions and broad categories to fit people into (Notes 15). "If we have learned anything in these years of late twentieth–century feminism, it's that
'always' blots out what we really need to know: When, where, and under what conditions had the statement been true" (214). Asking these questions
will help ease the tension between individual "centeredness" and a collective movement, by allowing people to come to the realization that all of us

Social Location Essay
Social location is how age, race, social class, religion, gender, location, jobs, etc affect people's ideas and behavior. According to our book, "To find out
why people do what they do, Sociologists look at social location" (Henslin, 2015, p. 2). Social location gives people their unique personality and beliefs
and are basically what make us unique individuals. To begin, I was my mother's first born. I am the oldest of the biological siblings and for 5 years I
was an only sibling, I was treated much different and knew I could get away with more for these first years. After 13 years, my parents adopting my
older sister. I was the oldest sibling for 13 years then I was the middle sibling. I was no longer the "rule setter" and instead had more strict rules due to
my older sister's behavior. She also came from a much different background than me and she helped shape me and open my eyes to how different
people can be raised. I grew up in a suburb of Kansas City for most my life. Two years ago I moved with my parents to a very small town where my
dad grew up. Growing up in a larger town has shaped the way I act and feel towards people. In the small town I live in now everyone knows
everyone, and everyone knows everyone's business. That was never the case when I was growing up people minded their own business for the most part.

The Location Of An Ecosystem
Location– The location of an ecosystem affects its functioning. At a global scale, latitude, distance from the sea and altitude play decisive roles in
determining climate and ultimately the nature of particular ecosystems. The Great Barrier Reef is found along the Queensland coastline. It
stretches as far north as Papa New Guinea, 8o South Latitude, to just above (north) of Fraser Island, 24o South Latitude, (an approximate 2300
Km stretch). There are four main regions along the Great Barrier Reef. These are The Northern, Central, Mackay, and Southern Region. The Great
Barrier Reef also has continuity both geographically and temporally. Reef drilling data has proved that the reef in the north is 1km to 2km's thick
and existed about 15 million years ago. However the southern region of the reef is much thinner at only 120 meters thick and younger at only about
2 million years. Due to this location the corals which require a very specific conditions are able to grow due to the right amount of light which is the
main food source of the zooxanthellae which are organisms contained in the corals. Corals are limited to areas of the sea where the water temperature
does not fall below 17 degrees Celsius and doesn't exceed 34 degrees Celsius and the coral system prefers to be in a relatively stable saline conditions
as elevated levels stunt coral growth and low levels will result in the zooxanthellae dying. Thus creating a very vulnerable ecosystem due to the

down into three sections, all have the same spotted knapweed concerns and goals, but have slightly different soil ecosystems. The first section
starts at the headwaters and runs to Nye, MT (See Attachment 6) about river mile 35; this stretch contains faster moving stretches of rapids, but
also areas that are very slow moving and slough. The higher river banks in the faster moving areas have rockier soil, and more drastic soil erosion

prime growing areas for spotted knapweed and the highest area of concern. It is also considered outstanding fly fishing waters, which creates more

The Importance Of Location In The Awakening
Location in The Awakening Location, location, location. People everywhere form their daily routines based on location. People, past and present, are
bound to the social customs and expectations that are tied to where they live. Authors throughout history have used this fact to symbolize conflicting
mindsets or ideas. Kate Chopin's novel, The Awakening, demonstrates this metaphor perfectly. Through hercharacter Edna vacationing on the Grand
Isle, then returning to her old life in New Orleans, Chopin exemplifies how location is extremely impactful on one's life and represents the conflict
within. The Awakening begins on the Grand Isle where Edna Pontellier and her family are vacationing. While there, Edna meets Robert Lebrun, and
she feels a special connection to Robert. Her time on the island's beach only intensifies her attraction towards Robert as her more erotic side shines
through. Because the beach acts as the backdrop for her new, tempting nature, the Grand Isle represents Edna's change in mentality about how she is
living her life. The Grand Isle represents her freedom. Freedom from society and others telling her what she is expected to do. The Grand Isle

After getting a taste of how wonderful her life could be, she does not want to return to the superficial life she led before visiting the Grand Isle.
Because of this, Edna stops receiving guests, moves into a new house, and ultimately leaves, New Orleans and life. New Orleans symbolizes the
oppressive society in which Edna lives. She feels as though her husband, children, and peers are restricting her and preventing her from achieving

Radar The Proliferation Of Location Based Services Essay

  • 1. Radar The Proliferation Of Location Based Services Essay Abstract– The proliferation of Location Based Services (LBSs) and Geo Social Networks (GSNs) significantly increase the exposure risks of location information leading to leakage of sensitive information. Location privacy preserving methods are designed to provide a specified level of privacy based on some pre–defined privacy guarantees such as k–anonymity and e–differential privacy. In certain situations, we note that users would need different privacy protection levels based on their relationships and trust associated with the users of the exposed location data. For instance, users of a location–based social network may need a smaller privacy protection level in interaction with their close friends and a larger privacy protection level in relationship with public users. In this paper, we present a privacy aware access control model that provides different location privacy protection levels based on various access control list of users. The proposed privacy preserving access control model not only preserves the confidentiality of access control policy but also provides an efficient mechanism for grant and revoke of authorizations. I. INTRODUCTION The recent prevalent use of mobile devices and the availability of high–resolution spatio–temporal data sensing devices have popularized the use of Location–Based Services (LBSs) and Location–based Geosocial Networks (GSNs). These location–based systems (e.g. Foursquare, Yelp, Google Latitude, and Facebook Places) provide services ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. Stages Of Social Location 1.Social location is the idea that a groups members belong in the group because of their place or position in society, past and present. All people have a distinct social location that is defined by their social class, gender, ability, race, age, religion, sexual orientation, and geographic location. Membership within each group brings forth a certain set of social roles and rules, power, and privilege (or lack of), which heavily influence a person's identity and how they see the world. 2.A social problem is an issue within society that a large amount of people are concerned with. The problem itself has to be socially constructed, meaning it has two essential components. An objective condition that can be measured or experienced, and a subjective... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The social problem I decided to explain was the growing rate of simple and complex terrorist attacks in developed countries. In the past few years we've seen a significant spike in the rise of terrorist attacks in the United States and it allies and its causing a major social problem. Whether it be a bombing or just driving a van through a crowd of people, these attacks effect people in multiple ways. One of the main ways is that it causes people to be afraid to go outside and socialize which causes a disconnect between the population. Another way is that it cause the citizens to mistrust the government, because it is supposed to keeping them safe and a terror attack being successfully carried out means the government failed at its job. There are many ways this could be fixed, but the problem is that a lot of Americans aren't willing to do them because they involve giving up certain amounts of freedom. By this I mean allowing the government to look at digital data on people as well as conversations to attempt to stop attacks before the begin. Another way is to give the police and other feral law enforcement agencies more power to arrest or detain terrorist suspects. This issue is one that a lot of people are currently trying to come up with solutions to, and I think it will take a while before we are able to come to one clear way to deal with this ... • 3. Politics Of Location Moreover, the Law of the Father played a significant role in Rich's life. Rich was affected by PSTD, Post Dramatic Stress Disorder as a result of her father being in the war. She took this and used it to her benefit. She allowed this experience to structure her life and shape it in a way that would help her grow and learn, and bring others along either to experience it, or relate to her experience. Rich will never know what exactly happened to her father during war. It is a force of her frustration, because recollecting such memories is painful, not only for her but for her father as well. Both suffer from the disturbance of war (Langley, 2011). Her father was quite a dominating figure in her life. He educated her with his encouragement of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In her essay 'Notes toward a Politics of Location' (1984), she writes about her experiences, how they shaped and transformed her. She writes in hope to change and deconstruct the view and thought of the myth of woman and the idea of their bodies as unknown, dark areas that are dangerous to be explored. She writes about her body, personally. She refers to it throughout the text. She mentions damages, discolorations, disfigurements, scars, and losses (Eagleton, 2000). One thing to note is that Rich speaks about her body as if she is outside it: 'white skin, marked and scarred by three pregnancies'. Time and events have left their impressions on Rich's body. Her body is one that has skin and bones, it is aging and damaged, vulnerable, and not a body that is owned by others. It is her body that has her experiences written all over it (Eagleton, 2000). Moreover, Rich speaks about how the Second World War had an effect on her due to her religion, although she was 'three thousand miles away from Europe". ' Rich's mentioning of her race and religion emphasizes that they are two important issues to her. She relates historical events to her female body. During the Second World War Jews were under mass extermination, similar to her body as "it continues to give expression to an inadaptable material residue" (Eagleton, ... These services are increasingly being used on mobile devices. Between 2010 and 2013 mobile internet usage increased 359%, whereas desktop internet usage only increased by 4% (Ju–Young, Johnson, & Mee Mun, 2015). LBS create an augmented reality by adding and integrating information to real world experiences (Pedrana, 2014). This app brings together overlapping communities, putting people with similar sexualities and locations in contact (Shotwell, 2011). In this regard, it is beneficial to provide specific demographics with LBS apps as a way to create a new space for the community to connect. Although there are benefits to the location–based nature of Grindr, we must remain critical of the privacy issues and social implications of the app. Grindr's privacy policy states that third parties, such as advertisers and partners, may access user information and that Grindr "expressly disclaim[s] responsibility for information collected through them" (Grindr, 2015). User information that can be accessed by Grindr and third parties includes names, photos, height, weight, email address and so on. Some may not be bothered by this, but there are serious implications to consider. Legal and social rights need to be considered regarding the collection of personal information, as it can be used and exploited in many ways (Wilken, 2014). • 14. The Location Allocation Problem There are three different variations of the location allocation problem being discussed in the articles. The LAP can be seen below. Figure 1. Image of the Location Allocation Problem from [2], where EF stands for existing facilities and NF stands new facilities. The first variation, global location allocation problems, are what most large or cooperate businesses are dealing with today. Most businesses that are looking to open new facilities are looking to either expand international or expand domestically, but both require a global aspect. By combining AHP and GP, Badri created an efficient manner in which to solve the added constraints of making the location allocation problem global. The analytical hierarchy process was created by Saaty to add constraints into the LAP so that it is a global problem. Since the global scale required additional regulations such as; political situations, global competition, government regulations, and economic factors are added. This hierarchy is created to be able to give a swift answer in a political environment where time is of the essence. The first thing that must be established in the hierarchy is the goal, then the criteria, and lastly the alternative locations. This problem requires the decision makers to apply weights to certain goals and locations. The decision maker(s) have to place a weight or priority on each of the alternatives the criteria creates. To my point of view, the environment that one's growing up plays a great role in shaping one's identity. My mother spent most of her life with her mother who had been divorced by her husband when she was still very young. As the only workforce of her family, started working as a laborer in farms, where she had to compete with strong male workers, in 1970s after the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution in China, where farmers' gains were based on their labor force. Then she got married to my father, who had five younger siblings and disabled parent, in 1987. The upward intergenerational mobility that my mother has experienced had shaped her worldview. • 27. Class Location One interesting thing that I have learned so far in the class is understanding that location is an important factor when it comes to quality of life. When looking at both of the books we have read in class, location has been a reason why most people have a rough life. When a town is in poverty it directly relates to the crime rate and drug use. People must find way to support their families and selling drug is on of the ways which of course, relates to jail time as seen in Keepin' On. Another problem seen when living in poverty due to location is the school systems and quality of teachers is affect. Teacher in public school are not up to par due to the lack of funding the town provide to have quality teachers. Finally, when a town is in poverty, the job outlook decreases. Nationwide, the retail sector enjoyed robust growth during the first half of the decade, due in great part to the continued expansion of big boxes. The excitement, however, is dying down, as several category–killer retailers experience slowing sales. The once–zealous players are becoming more cautious, and once again the rules of the game are changing for developers and commercial brokers. Communities with enterprise zones and other economic incentives are getting a second chance as retailers rediscover downtown in more–affluent markets. A shining example is the Circle Centre redevelopment in Indianapolis. This is because each person has a perspective partially shaped by their social location and partially shaped by how they interpret their social location. Social location can blind people about issues that are happening in their country but not in their community, it can change one's perspective and outlook on many topics, it can play a key role in how people perceive the world and others around them, and it can also give people resources to help other. She shows that even in times that we believe we are powerless to change a situation our belief actually comes from a place of power, and allows us to be apathetic towards an issue. I have realized that because of my social location I had the power to make a choice to care or not to care about homeless people, and I made the choice to not care. It did not directly affect myself, my family, or my community, but it did affect my world in a great way, but I was veiled by my location. The idea of location applies not just to women who part of the transnational feminist movement in the United States are, is but also for people all over the globe to change their ways of thinking about their location and how they can relate to others from differing locations by asking specific questions. In Notes Towards a Politics of Location, Rich successfully encourages readers to reflect on their "centeredness" and offers solutions to overcome the barriers that "centeredness" may construct. The reality is that there are overlaps in our circles, the Universe does not just revolve around one location or ethnicity. Our perspective has its limitations, to combat this, we must raise issues from more than one perspective and location instead of just our own. "If we have learned anything in these years of late twentieth–century feminism, it's that 'always' blots out what we really need to know: When, where, and under what conditions had the statement been true" (214). • 40. The Location Of An Ecosystem Location– The location of an ecosystem affects its functioning. At a global scale, latitude, distance from the sea and altitude play decisive roles in determining climate and ultimately the nature of particular ecosystems. The Great Barrier Reef is found along the Queensland coastline. It stretches as far north as Papa New Guinea, 8o South Latitude, to just above (north) of Fraser Island, 24o South Latitude, (an approximate 2300 Km stretch). There are four main regions along the Great Barrier Reef. These are The Northern, Central, Mackay, and Southern Region. The Great Barrier Reef also has continuity both geographically and temporally. Reef drilling data has proved that the reef in the north is 1km to 2km's thick and existed about 15 million years ago. However the southern region of the reef is much thinner at only 120 meters thick and younger at only about 2 million years. Due to this location the corals which require a very specific conditions are able to grow due to the right amount of light which is the main food source of the zooxanthellae which are organisms contained in the corals. Corals are limited to areas of the sea where the water temperature does not fall below 17 degrees Celsius and doesn't exceed 34 degrees Celsius and the coral system prefers to be in a relatively stable saline conditions as elevated levels stunt coral growth and low levels will result in the zooxanthellae dying. The first section starts at the headwaters and runs to Nye, MT (See Attachment 6) about river mile 35; this stretch contains faster moving stretches of rapids, but also areas that are very slow moving and slough. The higher river banks in the faster moving areas have rockier soil, and more drastic soil erosion caused by spotted knapweed. The slow areas and sloughs, like near Lake Sioux Charley (See Attachment 7), the largest moving slough, have moist, less rocky soil, and not as conducive growing environment for spotted knapweed. People, past and present, are bound to the social customs and expectations that are tied to where they live. Authors throughout history have used this fact to symbolize conflicting mindsets or ideas. Kate Chopin's novel, The Awakening, demonstrates this metaphor perfectly. Through hercharacter Edna vacationing on the Grand Isle, then returning to her old life in New Orleans, Chopin exemplifies how location is extremely impactful on one's life and represents the conflict within.
