3. Wedding formats
Calligraphy text being formal and sophisticated
Pastel colours amongst the text and strapline being feminine
and appealing to the target audience.
Traditional attire, brides wearing white and grooms in a suit with
props like flowers, veils, wedding cars, food and table décor.
4. As we can see comparing these two wedding front
pages, they both consist of calligraphy text with a
mixture of bold to give it its sophisticated look. They
stick to the pastel coloured theme being softer but still
a set colour instead of nudes. This is in all
professional wedding magazines. Mise-en-scene
wise, they both also stick to the conventional formats
wedding magazines consist of; this is a wedding
setting, traditional attired and a happy atmosphere. It
also has a bright lighting to emphasise the rest of its
techniques.
5. Comparing these two double pages, they follow the
conventional formats like the front pages. The follow
the same mise-en-scene rules with bright lighting,
happy atmosphere, naturistic settings and typical
attire. Pastel colours are also used in these as well
as a busy format being layered so it can fit as many
images as possible onto the page to show visually
the style and advertisement.
6. Both of these content layouts are conventional to its
form. Being listed is a key convention that wedding
magazines have as it keeps it formal and in its most
typical form. It also consists of many images for its
purpose and has pastel style colours. Its range of
fonts and sizes also make it stick to its conventions
and typical form in which makes it distinctive to its
genre.
7. I chose to compare two different styled websites for
the format section as I wanted to be able to really
explore its typical formats and broaden my ideas on
it. The typical format for a website front page is to
have many videos/pictures to advertise what's
included throughout the site. This also has a option
bar at the top and adverts either popping up or at the
side.
8. The first and second hyperlinked page format is
normally very similar but including detailed
information on the page topic explaining it and
advertising the websites information it can give
away. This may include adverts and articles/case
studies.
9. The general formats of billboards have an image
taking up around 40-50% of the board and a big
masthead with smaller information and social
media links underneath so even if the information
is missed they can see the media page links to
access it. The colours are normally slightly brighter
as it needs to be seen from a distance.
