Employment History
1. Working as a HR Consultant in Department of Education and Training (DET) from 05/07/2010 – till
date

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide administrative support and advice to school support staff, teachers and the principals of
Victorian Government schools. Much of the advice I give to schools can be quite complex and
deals with the various awards interpretation, procedures and operational policies
• Process End-to-end payroll for Principal class employees such as processing Principal Class
employee’s appointment, contract renewal, transfer and promotion, termination, leave,
superannuation, higher duties, temporary assignment, range review.
• Process pay critical request from the schools and regional offices before the payroll confirmation
cut-off date to ensure efficiency and accuracy to an employee’s fortnightly salary as necessary.
This strict timeline also helps to avoid any salary over/underpayments.
• Processing recognition of prior service for leave purposes and salary purposes, tax,
superannuation for school employees
• My work involves many complex leave and salary issues relating to principals, teachers and
Education Support Officers including but not limited to conducting complex salary
reassessments, updating job data and processing allowances. It is very important that the
calculations are done correctly as arrears can run into many thousands of dollars while
determining what particular salary a teacher to be placed on. For me to conduct my duties I use
the Excel work sheet. I use various calculators based on Excel to carry out my duties, like
calculating arrears and leave audits. To enable me to do this, I have had to acquire an excellent
knowledge of relevant Acts, Determinations and Regulations relating to teacher salaries.
• Prioritize and schedule work within strict timelines, and identify areas of improvement where
appropriate to ensure the effective management of workload. I maintain the tracker for the
pending request and ensure all done within timelines. These tasks required much organisation
and understanding of payroll process to achieve the set tasks in the short term timelines. In my
role I was required to oversee these tasks on a need basis and not only assisting my team
members with the correction and processing but assist with any queries that they had while
achieve the required goals. I have had extensive experience working as an effective member of a
team and contributing to the team’s performance in high pressure environments. I believe this
keeps team members motivated and leads them to success.
Achievement:
Selected as an UAT testing member in the payroll transition period from HRMS system to ongoing
assessment of a new payroll system “eduPay” (PeopleSoft 9 version) and successfully completed the
migration processing tasks as well as completing ongoing fortnightly tasks within standard required
deadlines to ensure a smooth transition onto a new payroll system and the least disruption to workflows
as possible.
2. Worked as a Senior Payroll Analyst, Global Payroll at ANZ (Australia and New Zealand Bank)

April 2007 to 09th
